Personality
For quite a while, his married life was very normal. Katherine’s death, however, greatly changed him and their relationship is almost an unhealthy one because, although they both care for each other, Harvey wants to leave but can’t bring himself to. He would have given anything to make sure Katherine survived. Instead, he stays with her like a loyal hound. Harvey refuses to leave her, though it would certainly be the best idea for himself and his son.

By the time Harvey was fifteen, his father had found a new job as an English professor and the young boy was already planning his future. In 1989, he would leave to attend Pennsylvania State University, where he pursued a major in world history and a minor in Latin. After graduating, he moved around for a while trying to find a place he really felt comfortable and wished to stay. In his wanderings, he would meet Katherine and marry her in 1995. Though he enjoyed the moving, it came to an abrupt halt because of one phone call he received from his wealthy uncle. He'd been close to the man as a young boy, but now his uncle was an old man and said he wished for Harvey to move in with him, along with his family. Harvey decided it was the best and they moved into the house which was, of course, the Murder House. Two years after marrying Katherine, their son Johnny was born. Life fell into a nice, relaxed pattern that Harvey adored. If only it had stayed that way.
In January 2003, Harvey's uncle died off of the property due to cardiac arrest. By then, the idea of the condos was coming underway. Already, Harvey's uncle had begun to gut the house and called builders in to set up blueprints. Hoping Harvey would start where he left off, his uncle left him his entire estate. How could Harvey ignore the last wishes of his uncle? A letter had also been left to Harvey, written by his uncle for opening after the older man had passed. Inside, it told Harvey of the ghosts that lived in the house. At the time, he only scoffed and tossed the letter away. Ghosts? There was no such thing.
By September 2004, the house had been completely renovated and, when Harvey placed the units on the market, they were gobbled up by buyers. Then, everything went wrong. People were fighting and dying left and right. The frightened Harvey had no idea what to do and only tried to protect his son and wife. But, alas, that would not work out. In 2005, Katherine died and shook Harvey's world. A normal man might have left, but Harvey was desperate. He was nothing without Katherine. So, he stayed and, slowly, the spirits began to show themselves to him. Was he crazy? Perhaps. But, the ghosts comforted him and gave him hope. In thanks, he offered some of the condos to the ghosts who still wished to carry on normal lives. A few years after Katherine's death, he would begin renting units out again. After Katherine began to show herself again as a spirit, Harvey knew he would have to stay. How could he leave his wife? Besides, the ghosts were always asking him to run errands for them, given most of them could hardly make it to town.
He's made too many promises to keep. He's promised to care for the house, to care for his wife and the other ghosts, but also to leave this place for Johnny's sake. But, how can he part with his soul mate?
