Pirates Wanted… Dead. Tis time to raise hell upon the seas or enforce the brutal laws of the Black Shield Empire. Bring home victory… or meet the oceans eternal embrace.

Introduction

(Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRBbusgl ... re=related )

The once cesspool known as Black Port now has sunk even lower where once poverty ran rampant destitution flooded the streets with beggars and homeless. Where once disease killed one of every family it now wipes entire households out. The strict nature of its regime under the Pirate Lord and its actual founder Lord Orion the only man who had brought the rabble of the sea beneath one banner. Now lays slain his blood still warm as it pools around his cold body.

The once weak Humanic Navy now wilts away into a powerhouse under The Black Shield Empire. All who defy are put to the sword. Lord Orion his home stormed… all its residence put to death. Dread Lord Vargus hunted down and hung until dead, Lord Zithar placed in the deepest of dungeons beneath Black Port while the likes of Lord Zakia and Malok faced the Guillotine, even Lady Galia met her end with stones tied to her wrists and ankles before being thrown overboard into deep waters as Lord Maxwell felt the pain of his sins burned away at the stake with flames abound and molten lead the only thing to cool his throat. As blood filled the seas… this blood of privateers, so to did the great Lord Nal’ithar fall sword in hand a mountain of corpses around him and a newly dubbed ship graveyard around his sinking vessel.

Tis ill times indeed many have fallen… and few remain. The once most powerful force in the western seas now buckles upon its knees with the ever growing power of the Black Shield Empire and its dark Tyrant and once savior Araka Silverblade. He who personally put one of the greatest captains to sail under the old regime to death with his own sword. With heroes of old and legends of now slain, who would defy him. Who would rise against the every flowing inky clouds that slowly descend swallowing all hope… consuming all light until we are left as blind as myself… here in the deepest pits of this Hell upon earth known as Black Port… may Kaxis give us mercy.

Vessels. (Feel free to make your own ships just P.M. them for an OK first though.)

Pirate [I]
Angel of the West. These speed based vessels can support ten cannons on each side while capable of outrunning most ships they are very lightly armored and thin. Easily capsizes but is capable of taking minimum damage while fleeing.

The Basilisk. A strangely designed pirate ship, shallow and slightly wide this ship has its sails based on its sides and is capable of gliding silently over water and it is said given enough wind that they can “fly” if only a few feet off the water. This ship though is more named for the large sets of mortars it is equipped with capable of raining death and despair fro above.

Fist of the Fell. A heavy warship which holds three masks and over thirty cannons. Heavily armored and covered in defensive positions this ship is easily the best ship for brute strength under pirate control.

Shackles of the Impure. A specially designed blockade runner. Built so most of its hull is under water allowing it to easily slip through larger ships. Armed with only one small cannon on its roof its sole-purpose in combat is to sneak up on enemy warships and puncture their lower hulls with a close range cannon burst.

Lord of the Brine. A Capital ship used only by pirate lords. Fast enough to out run naval interceptors but armed well enough to defeat enemy warships. Housing eighty cannons moderately armored its armed with two harpoon guns and a catapult which is used to lob jars of Greek fire onto enemy decks to clear them before boarding.

[I] Humanic Navy

(Out of Date)
Hand of the Heavens. A fast interceptor ship capable of running down most vessels. Slower then Angels of the West but much more deadly. Armed with twenty cannons on each side this war vessel is moderately armored and more then capable of out maneuvering combat vessels.

Tear of the Saint. A warship armed with sixty cannons total. Heavily armored but still fast enough to catch other warships this ship maneuvers slowly but is armed with a battering spike on its bow for shattering through enemy hulls.

Sinner Among Saints. The Capital ships of the Humanic Empire. Armed with over a hundred and twenty cannons in total this hulking warship is slow but powerful. Capable of overpowering all but the best captains with pure brute strength and board ships with its massive crew.

(Current Standard)

The Blessed Cross. Ship designed to run down and capture ships. The fastest ship created by the Black Shield Empire. They were the ships that ran down many of the pirate lords and caught them in the dead of night.

Vanguard of Faith. These hulking ships are equipped with over three hundred cannons. With four masts and metal plating on its bow.

Touch of Heaven. A “rocket” ship designed for annihilation enemy ships. Armed with a single Hwach'ahttp://strangeweaponoftheweek.com/strangeweapons/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/hwacha1.jpg ) they send swarms of death propelling towards their enemies.. Dangerous against masts and dry wood.

The Guardian of Hell. These hulking Capital ships are said to be an eye sore holding three hundred cannons, four Gattling Guns (http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/2/2e/ ... n_1865.jpg ) One Hwach'a. (http://strangeweaponoftheweek.com/stran ... wacha1.jpg ) and heavy armor.

Black Jet Empire

Dissention. A light ship used as an interceptor. Housing sixty cannons and metal plating this heavy ship is the fastest and lightest ships the Black Jet Empire uses. Capable of holding of a Tear of the Saint with ease.

Obelisk of the Hammer. These massive ships are armed with a single small cannon based atop a giant towering bladed bow. Set with heavy metal plates that deflect most cannon fire the only vulnerable places on these juggernauts are their decks and the submerged hull. Steam powered with the use of oars and masks this ship can pick up high speeds in a straight line leveling anything and everything in its way. Used for transporting armies these ships tear apart enemy lines with ease until boarded or struck with a lucky cannonball.

Obelisk of the Gods. These capital ships are much like their lesser versions of the Obelisk of the Hammer. Though these ships don’t have hulking bows instead a flat platform armed with a massive cannon replaces the cutting edge of their lesser forms. Still made for ramming its main cannon can fire over twenty full sized cannonballs at once. Ripping apart enemy ships at such rates it isn’t funny. Though do to its weight the bow of the ship is lightly armored compared to the rest of the heavily armored ship. Also lower decks give a chance to strike at the wooden decks which are vulnerable.

Sarra's eyes went wide. It couldn't possibly... could it? She looked towards Scarlet, who caught the expression on her face and waved a hand casually, dismissing the girl to find her way down to where the healers were working. It couldn't be, and yet she desperately hoped it was. She dashed past a number of people on the way, murmuring apologies even when she didn't brush them, until she came upon the group of what appeared to be the healers, casting her eyes around in search of someone who shouldn't be alive.

Scarlet grinned. "Occupational hazard, I take it? Very well; I don't regularly spend that much time doing nothing but reading, but it's not beyond me. I thank you for your help, Lord Tahro." That was the title she'd heard the girl use, so she went with it. Turning away, she glanced over to Sirius. "Can you read? I can't remember." It wasn't exactly a common pirating skill, but Tom'enerin had insisted that all his crew learn it. She was a tad more lax, but everyone on her ship could at least write their own name, and a good half of them would be useful for her purposes, but it might be best to bring fewer than that. One of them had just run off, actually, so she'd have to fetch a few more.

"How about you, Songrose?"

The man once known as Alexei stood inside the healer’s tent his hair of white hellfire billowing around him like and avalanche. His pale skin pulsated with a crimson tint that resonated from his very soul. Golden eyes looked over everything… and yet seemed absent and empty… though of all things the agitated and angry expression that he bore was so very alien to those who knew him in life… and the still fresh scars of his interrogation were only hidden by blood stained bandages and a blood stained pink robe.” Greetings Sarra.” The celestial spoke in a echoing voice of Omnipotence compared to mortal comprehension. His eyes never turned to look upon her… he merely continued to stare off into nothingness.

Tahro nodded. “Then good bye and safe travel’s Scarlet. I hope to see you again with champions of the old.”

"Of course I can read. Can't let anyone have an edge over me nowadays when I'm outgunned and outmanned," Sirius pointed out with a slight grin. True he was not scholar, but he could read passably well and quickly if he knew all the words, though, he'd pause a moment at words such as "egregious" and "onomatopoeia" as well as "abstractly" in order to figure them out.

"Right. To the library. Then digging up bones. Why do we never go on normal dates, Kate?" he asked her with a grin as he headed for the library. He certainly hoped the scrolls they needed were easy to find.

Songrose shrugged. "...I little, I suppose..." She wasn't very good at reading. she could do it, but she was awfully slow at it, having to take the time to try to sound out the letters in her head as they were to understand what words they actually were. She didn't often spend much time reading herself, seeing as she had yet to find a reason to read, until now. Now she wished she had actually bothered to learn. "A little slow, but I can read a little..." She supposed she wasn't going to be of much use, really, if she couldn't read too well.

"Maybe because we don't date at all, Sirius," Scarlet replied with a roll of her eyes. To Songrose, she nodded. "Well, in that case I'll leave it up to you whether you'd like to come or not. You're free to do as you like as long as you stay out of trouble." They passed the ship, retrieving Stefan and Crow before continuing on to the Library itself.

As Tahro had suggested, it was filled to the brim with scrolls, stacked floor-to-ceiling on shelves. "Fantastic," the captain muttered to herself. There wasn't any system of organization that she recognized. "Well, unless this place has an archivist, our best bet is probably randomly grabbing things and then narrowing it down as we get close to the subjects we're looking for. Anything on old heroes or pirate Lords should help." Carefully, Scarlet lifted the scroll nearest her and scanned it over. Topography... not what she was looking for.

Sarra wasn't exactly sure what to think. This... being was at once Alexei and nothing like him. It looked like some god or spirit must have either possessed him or... made him into something else, and she bit her lip. She was glad he was alive, but she wasn't sure if that term was really the proper one to apply. "What... what happened to you?" Her tone was somewhere between awed and melancholy. This surely was her teacher, and yet...

The Library’s mass was of unbelievable degree scrolls up scrolls were stacked in cubby’s that stood from floor to ceiling of each of the six twenty foot floors. Hundreds of Honor Blood warriors seemed to study scrolls for their coming of age tests and white robed men with their mouths sewn shut seemed to put scrolls back where they belonged. If one took the time to read scroll by scroll they might realize each cubby held the same scroll just different copies of the same text(including different versions as in someone else’s take on it) Also one might notice women in bright red robes walking the library as well who occasionally stopped and pointed here or there or engaged in idle conversation.

“I died… and Zale gave my enemies the ultimate scorn, she gave me new flesh and powers to combat those who would harm those I died for.” He stay unchanging as if devoid of emotion now… except for his vengeful eyes… they showed his anger and rage though it was clear it was not directed at anyone here.

"It's just the same thing over and over again! Or in different points of view!" Sirius sighed, placing a scroll back in its cubby and randomly picking out another one, this one a tale of Dread Lord Vargus, "Hung until dead. How lovely. I'm surprised they didn't try burning him. Maybe we can resurrect his First Mate too? I think she had a thing for him."

He grinned slightly at Scarlet, "Say what you will, love, you spend a lot of time with me."

"You think?" Scarlet replied skeptically, then sighed. "At least if he was hung, he's not a pile of ashes right now. Does it say anything about his body's location?" Digging up dead people was not exactly what Scarlet had signed on for when she became a pirate, but desperate times called for desperate measures, she supposed.

Quickly figuring out that everything within the same compartment was the same, she advanced a few down and plucked a scroll from its shelf. "Huh. This one looks like a chronicle of Captain Cameron's life... and of course I spend time with you. We are trying to overthrow an empire here." Laying the scroll out on a nearby table, Scarlet began to scan it for any detail that might point to the location of his corpse.

"I see..." Sarra couldn't help but feel a little guilty somehow. Even if she didn't qualify as one of the people he died for, he certainly had bought time for her to escape, and she'd felt horrible running away like that. And while some part of herself was glad he still lived, it was hard to say that someone so... vengeful was Alexei at all. He'd never been like that. Still...

"I'll have to thank Zale next time I visit one of her temples," she murmured to herself. Louder, she addressed him. "Well, do you and the others need any help here?" It was a healing tent and she a healer, after all. It actually felt strange not to be bustling about tending to people.

Dread Lord Vargus Hung until Dead. Much was unknown about this fearsome figure of pirate lore, a monster or fiend. Though after much prodding we have acquired the only account of this man’s life. Raised as a simple black smith’s apprentice he fought each day against a horrid disease that slowly clenched its’ grip tighter and tighter crushing this small boy… however a young black elf lead him from nature’s course and showed him the way of Zatolen. While she had no physical attachments to the boy, he held a crush on the bar maid since long before she even knew he existed. Though by the end of his ascension into full Corruption he had charmed the much older black elf and together they set out to the seas… where the tails of his rise to power as a Pirate Lord left a trail of blood and sorrow… he is the only Pirate Lord who successfully earned his place by dueling and killing another pirate lord.
It is believed his crew cut loose his body and buried him along side his first mate beneath the forge he once served at.

James Cameron Hung to death, Conviction by Inquisition for High Treason, Murder, Piracy, Arson, assault on an admiral, destruction of imperial property, destruction of private property, and assault on inquisitors. James Cameron once the feared pirate only known as the White Saint, had captured or sunk over a hundred and twenty ships of the old regime, and pirated over three hundred civilian vessels. Pardoned for his crimes he was reformed into a naval captain by the late king and proved to be a valuable resource in combating pirates. Due to his efforts piracy had begun to recline.
It is believed that he still hangs in Black Port’s town square.

His emotionless gaze fell upon Sara in full force. “Do not blame yourself, a teacher is always willing to defend his pupil… they are our continued existence even once flesh has faded… they carry with them our minds and ideas… they know our skills and hone what we failed to do as mortals. They shall regret what they have done…” He tilted his head slightly before nodding. “We always have need for more healers… many are enept in the finer arts… they can close wounds and set bones… but not in the proper way I’ve shown you… while their methods work… ours work better.”

Songrose shrugged, figuring she might as well come along. After all, what else was she going to do? As she had expected, she was a bit slower at reading than the others, but she was trying to help. She hated doing nothing at all. She mostly read through a few of the titles, only occassionally looking through a scroll when she thought the title was promising enough. She looked up as the other pirate captain pointed out something he had found about one of the pirate lords, and only listening long enough to know that they were talking about one of the pirate lords, then turned her attention back to the scrolls. She had known progress would be slow for her; something she hoped would change if she had a bit more practice with it. She could only hope she would move a little faster as she got used to reading the scrolls.

"Well, Vargus should be easy enough to dig up. Never knew he was such a lady's man. Charming an older elf is no mean feet," Sirius said, sounding impressed before frowning at what was written about Cameron in the next scroll, "Now that's just distasteful. Deny the only pirate that had been reformed a burial. Another reason why I'd never go privateer."

"Okay. We have a pretty good idea where Cameron and Vargus are. Where can we find the bodies of those that die at sea? From Zale's temple?" he asked jokingly.

"Hmm..." Scarlet mused. "You're assuming retrieving Cameron from the middle of Black Port will be doable. Need I remind you what happened last time we went there?" She sounded grim, and truthfully she saw no reason not to be. "Do we even know where this forge of Vargus's was at? It doesn't say," she observed, leaning over Sirius's shoulder to read his report too.

"I found something on Nal'Ithar," Stefan observed from a few shelves over, "though I'm not actually sure his body's still in any shape to be... reanimated. Galia was committed to the sea, but there should be some information on where..." he rummaged through a few more until he came up with something on the woman.

"And I've got Orion," Crow piped up from the other side of the library, causing a few people to shoot him reproachful looks. He looked suitably shamed, and padded over to the rest of them before actually opening the scroll in question.

Sarra nodded solemnly. "I'd be happy to help," she said honestly, moving over to a prone man who seemed to be suffering from debilitating wounds. She didn't know what had happened to him, but he was in need of some serious assistance. Thankfully, she was capable of providing that.

Nal’Ithar youngest son of Nal’Maris. Cast out when the elders got sick of his wishes for Zale’s soft waves to stand beneath him Though encouraged now that he was no longer bound by duty to remain in his clan’s ranks he found his way to sea. After many hardships as a common sailor he found his calling when a man known as Orion offered him a spot where his skills would be truly recognized. Soon the Black Elf found himself one of the great monarchs of the seas… and he left a legacy of legends and deeds. He was slain a sea after taking many gun and sword wounds. It is rumored that the Honor Blood retrieved his body and gave him proper burial in one of the Holy City’s Crypts.

Galia sister of Belsdar and one of the sibling lords. She and Belsdar were both made Pirate Lords due to their strength and cunning. Both were powerful Galia been less so… but they were a team and together few had even a hope of victory. Though Galia’s world came crashing down with a up and comer slew he brother with a single blow and claimed his spot as lord. Since then she has vowed vengeance on the Pirate Lord Vargas. She was put to death by being tied to weighted chair and thrown into a town well where she drowned to death. It is believed her body was moved by Aleuts to share the resting place of her brother.

Orion the relatively oldest and greatest Pirate Lord to ever live he is credited with over a thousand foes slain, nine hundred ships sunk, and four hundred ships captured. After successfully conquering Black Port he established a iron fisted rule by executing all politicians and people of note. He then funded a slave market to increase the population and enforced the boarders to ensure peasants couldn’t leave. Rest assured where mass poverty prevails so to does crime… and from the quickly growing criminal world of Blackport he created his army and crew and hunted down nine others to serve as his lieutenant in this time of war. Though he stood strong against the empire he had fought for so long… only to fall to the very force that dominated his long lived foe. Orion was given a proper burial in his home village of Beskaville where his family crypt is kept.

"Alright. I think I've found something doable. Nal'Ithar It says here that the Honor Blood buried him in one of their Holy City's crypts. Now, all we have to do is convince the Honor Blood to allow us to desecrate one of their holy place in order to raise a dead Pirate Lord," Sirius said happily before scratching his chin, "Hmm... Would they believe that the gods appeared to us and gave us the okay?"

Necromancy was a nasty business, but if it helped them bring down the Empire, then he was willing to get his hands dirty. Perhaps the Honor Blood could be convinced that raising a good man to fight the foe that killed him was honorable. If not, then they'd have to steal his body and sail away whilst distancing themselves from potential allies.

Scarlet raised a brow. She'd just read the same thing over Stefan's shoulder and was not nearly so sure. "We're not even allowed inside the city, remember? What makes you think they're going to let us waltz in and dig up a grave? It might be easier to get to Cameron than do that... though... Senitora is an Honor Blood. Maybe if he's the one asking, he'd be allowed to do it."

She read through a few more documents. "Hmm... Galia and her brother are both in Aleuts. That should be simpler than Black Port, though nothing is ever simple anymore. Orion's buried in a village. Probably not terribly heavily-guarded unless the shield knows what we're doing, and frankly I have no idea how they would. We should certainly get him as well." She tried to ignore the fact that she was not talking about people, but corpses. The greater good, the greater good, it was all for that, else she'd dare not contemplate it further.

"Well, that should be enough for now... we'll have to come back here to drop them off eventually anyway. Might as well see what Senitora says about Nal'Ithar and then head out. Which one of these places is closest to here, anyway?"

Stefan raised a brow. "Beskaville, but you don't want that one if you're concerned about being too close to the capital. Aleuts... I could get us there in about four days, maybe a little more. Once we've got a bit more help, it should be possible to get Orion. Nal'Ithar would help, if the... Honor Bloods let you inside their city." He'd been about to say 'bloody fools,' but then that probably wasn't the wisest course of action. He did admire their dedication to their tenets, but he couldn't stand bureaucratic obstruction. It hindered efficiency, and Stefan was all about efficiency.

"Hmm... all right then. Aleuts first. Sirius, will you go ask Senitora what the chances are of us retrieving Nal'Ithar? I'll round up the crews and tell them we're sailing soon."

"Alright then. Wish me luck and hope Senitora doesn't cut my head off for asking," Sirius stated, getting his feet and leaving the library. Really, he wasn't holding up much hope for him permitting them to remove Nal'Ithar let alone him doing it himself. He could dream, right? He suppressed a sigh. Who'd have thought digging up dead bodies would need so much explaining?

He grinned over at Senitora, trying to put on his best face for the conversation, "Ahoy, Senitora! You know, Scarlet and I have a plan for defeating the Empire. It involves ressurrecting its enemies, one of whom is buried right here on this island, how much do you know about the Pirate Lord, Nal'Ithar?"

Senitora gave a rather blank stare at Sirius. “You wish to defile a grave in the Holy City which is sacrilege and I would be forced to kill you? Also as a Knight of the Rhine I am by duty obligated to defend the holy rites of eternal slumber. So I will allow you to restate your sentence as you are clearly not in your right mind. Now what is it that you wanted to speak to me about?”

Songrose glanced between everyone as they all started talking, then looked through what little she was finding...even though she hadn't really found anything. She looked up again when she heard Sirius asking Senitora about digging up a Pirate Lord from the island. She didn't really think he would agree; sure enough, he assumed he wasn't thinking straight. She shook her head, glancing back down to the scroll she had been looking at and slowly working her way through it. If they couldn't dug up the Pirate Lord that was on this island, would they just have to make do with the other Pirate Lords? After all, she wasn't too sure making enemies at this point was a good idea. Not when they at least had a plan.

Scarlet proceeded out of the library, satisfied that Stefan probably had all their information memorized. On the way back to the Nightfall, Scarlet passed Brom, Neria and Shift, and informed them of the goings on. They and the rest of the crews for the two ships headed back on board, and Scarlet took up a position next to her gangplank and waited for Sirius to conclude his business. Frankly, she thought their chances were bad, but it was worth asking: Nal'Ithar had mettle even among pirate lords, and he was buried in not-enemy territory besides.

Stefan meanwhile was readying the rest of the crew to sail. Regardless of what happened here, they were going to have to depart pretty soon anyway.

"Look. This isn't necromancy. I know this is hard to believe, but Scarlet and I have permission from the gods. Nal'Ithar won't be forced to do anything he wouldn't want to do and as soon as his task is done, he will be returned to his resting place. The fact is that we need more allies and we won't be calling upon demons. We would be calling upon the gods themselves. If it doesn't work, you can have my head. If it does, then let me make my proposal to Nal'Ithar," Sirius said reasonably. Okay, he knew he was taking a big risk here, but he was certain that the gods would come through, wouldn't they?

Senitora’s eyes narrowed as his finger’s wrapped around his blade and started to draw the lethal blade. “Five… Four…” The man’s intent was clear… five second head start was all Sirius would receive before the Honor Blood was forced to slay the man who would wish desecration upon the Holy Crypts. “Three… Two…” his sword was nearly fully drawn and was freed as he said “One…” He took his first step forward into a full sprint as he muttered. “Zero.”

"What is it with me and religious fanatics?!" Sirius exclaimed, bring up his daggers to block his sword. He groaned, "It's not desecration if the the guy actually wants to be revived. With the power of the gods. You know, the ones that you and I worship."

I really should have taken Scarlet with me, he thought with a sigh.
