Introduction
The once cesspool known as Black Port now has sunk even lower where once poverty ran rampant destitution flooded the streets with beggars and homeless. Where once disease killed one of every family it now wipes entire households out. The strict nature of its regime under the Pirate Lord and its actual founder Lord Orion the only man who had brought the rabble of the sea beneath one banner. Now lays slain his blood still warm as it pools around his cold body.
The once weak Humanic Navy now wilts away into a powerhouse under The Black Shield Empire. All who defy are put to the sword. Lord Orion his home stormed… all its residence put to death. Dread Lord Vargus hunted down and hung until dead, Lord Zithar placed in the deepest of dungeons beneath Black Port while the likes of Lord Zakia and Malok faced the Guillotine, even Lady Galia met her end with stones tied to her wrists and ankles before being thrown overboard into deep waters as Lord Maxwell felt the pain of his sins burned away at the stake with flames abound and molten lead the only thing to cool his throat. As blood filled the seas… this blood of privateers, so to did the great Lord Nal’ithar fall sword in hand a mountain of corpses around him and a newly dubbed ship graveyard around his sinking vessel.
Tis ill times indeed many have fallen… and few remain. The once most powerful force in the western seas now buckles upon its knees with the ever growing power of the Black Shield Empire and its dark Tyrant and once savior Araka Silverblade. He who personally put one of the greatest captains to sail under the old regime to death with his own sword. With heroes of old and legends of now slain, who would defy him. Who would rise against the every flowing inky clouds that slowly descend swallowing all hope… consuming all light until we are left as blind as myself… here in the deepest pits of this Hell upon earth known as Black Port… may Kaxis give us mercy.

Vessels. (Feel free to make your own ships just P.M. them for an OK first though.)
Pirate [I]
Angel of the West. These speed based vessels can support ten cannons on each side while capable of outrunning most ships they are very lightly armored and thin. Easily capsizes but is capable of taking minimum damage while fleeing.
The Basilisk. A strangely designed pirate ship, shallow and slightly wide this ship has its sails based on its sides and is capable of gliding silently over water and it is said given enough wind that they can “fly” if only a few feet off the water. This ship though is more named for the large sets of mortars it is equipped with capable of raining death and despair fro above.
Fist of the Fell. A heavy warship which holds three masks and over thirty cannons. Heavily armored and covered in defensive positions this ship is easily the best ship for brute strength under pirate control.
Shackles of the Impure. A specially designed blockade runner. Built so most of its hull is under water allowing it to easily slip through larger ships. Armed with only one small cannon on its roof its sole-purpose in combat is to sneak up on enemy warships and puncture their lower hulls with a close range cannon burst.
Lord of the Brine. A Capital ship used only by pirate lords. Fast enough to out run naval interceptors but armed well enough to defeat enemy warships. Housing eighty cannons moderately armored its armed with two harpoon guns and a catapult which is used to lob jars of Greek fire onto enemy decks to clear them before boarding.
[I] Humanic Navy
(Out of Date)
Hand of the Heavens. A fast interceptor ship capable of running down most vessels. Slower then Angels of the West but much more deadly. Armed with twenty cannons on each side this war vessel is moderately armored and more then capable of out maneuvering combat vessels.
Tear of the Saint. A warship armed with sixty cannons total. Heavily armored but still fast enough to catch other warships this ship maneuvers slowly but is armed with a battering spike on its bow for shattering through enemy hulls.
Sinner Among Saints. The Capital ships of the Humanic Empire. Armed with over a hundred and twenty cannons in total this hulking warship is slow but powerful. Capable of overpowering all but the best captains with pure brute strength and board ships with its massive crew.
(Current Standard)
The Blessed Cross. Ship designed to run down and capture ships. The fastest ship created by the Black Shield Empire. They were the ships that ran down many of the pirate lords and caught them in the dead of night.
Vanguard of Faith. These hulking ships are equipped with over three hundred cannons. With four masts and metal plating on its bow.
Touch of Heaven. A “rocket” ship designed for annihilation enemy ships. Armed with a single Hwach'ahttp://strangeweaponoftheweek.com/strangeweapons/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/hwacha1.jpg ) they send swarms of death propelling towards their enemies.. Dangerous against masts and dry wood.
The Guardian of Hell. These hulking Capital ships are said to be an eye sore holding three hundred cannons, four Gattling Guns (http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/2/2e/ ... n_1865.jpg ) One Hwach'a. (http://strangeweaponoftheweek.com/stran ... wacha1.jpg ) and heavy armor.
Black Jet Empire
Dissention. A light ship used as an interceptor. Housing sixty cannons and metal plating this heavy ship is the fastest and lightest ships the Black Jet Empire uses. Capable of holding of a Tear of the Saint with ease.
Obelisk of the Hammer. These massive ships are armed with a single small cannon based atop a giant towering bladed bow. Set with heavy metal plates that deflect most cannon fire the only vulnerable places on these juggernauts are their decks and the submerged hull. Steam powered with the use of oars and masks this ship can pick up high speeds in a straight line leveling anything and everything in its way. Used for transporting armies these ships tear apart enemy lines with ease until boarded or struck with a lucky cannonball.
Obelisk of the Gods. These capital ships are much like their lesser versions of the Obelisk of the Hammer. Though these ships don’t have hulking bows instead a flat platform armed with a massive cannon replaces the cutting edge of their lesser forms. Still made for ramming its main cannon can fire over twenty full sized cannonballs at once. Ripping apart enemy ships at such rates it isn’t funny. Though do to its weight the bow of the ship is lightly armored compared to the rest of the heavily armored ship. Also lower decks give a chance to strike at the wooden decks which are vulnerable.

He smiled approvingly as they sent another barrage at the Guardian of Hell. One more like that, and that ship should sink. Not that the Sea's Chaos didn't get hit as well. He had never been more grateful for the wood being enchanted or that he didn't even need to give the order for his crew to start pumping seawater into the fires that began to lick at his ship.\
"It's a good thing our cannoneers are required to be sober on duty, then," Deadalous grunted, sending a javelin into the sea with a swish of his hand.

Maurenne stood at the prow of the ship, eyes fixed on the boat under assault. With a small sigh, she aimed a blast of pure concussive force at the Gatling gun with the best angle on the allied ship and released. That should help a little, at least. Though she was mostly a weather witch, she did know other spells, after all.
Setting

With the magical bolt let loose one of the twin Gatling guns were destroyed, however they seemed to also have a mage or two for when this happened the air around Maurenne shimmered before it filled with a swarm of wasps that began to rampage across the ship.

It was a pity they didn't have rifles like the navy, but a volley of arrows, musket shots, and pistol shots were enough to get take some of them down as some of the magi summoned wind to blow the rest away. Shift stroked his chin. When did the Black Shield employ Jarei riders? The Humanic Empire definitely didn't use those, at least, not at sea. The gnome yelped as a wasp stung him, causing Daedalous to chuckle as he sent a gust of wind at the swarm of wasps.
"No time to think, Master Gnome," he quipped. The gnome glared at him.
"And follow nature's impulses? Like Sirius?!"

"Maurenne, Sarra! Drown them, burn them, just get them away from the rest of us! Everybody else, get ready to deal with the Jarei riders in the sky, and the guns on that ship. We're moving in!" Unslinging her bow from her back, Scarlet knocked and arrow and nodded to Stefan, who was manning the helm, to steer them closer. The young man nodded, and the Nightfall was off at a good clip towards the Chaos.
Maurenne and Sarra worked together, summoning water from the ocean about them and drowning the wasps that appeared on deck, washing most of them back into the sea. As soon as Scarlet got close enough, the loosed an arrow towards a rider in the midst of a dive. nothing was ever as simple as it sounded, and that was the long and short of it these days.

Daedalous scowled. Sirius really needed to be less cocky. With that though, he summoned a greater gust of wind and sent it towards another Jarei rider, "This dock is too well defended!"

The lad was no magician and no charismatic figure, but he was a technological genius, and he liked to think that this counted for something. Steering the Nightfall so that the starboard side was aimed for the Chaos, he leapt belowdecks and, leaving the cannons alone, went straight for the more adjustable Gatling guns. These, he had modified only a bit, but the addition was going to prove most useful here: instead of being at a fixed angle, they could rotate quite sharply up or down, which in this case meant they could take aim at the sky without running the risk of hitting the allied crew. aiming carefully, Stefan picked out what looked to be the leader and fired a barrage. The guns were pretty accurate, but movement was a variabl he could not entirely account for.

Morgana had been watching, standing by incase her father needed her help. “Yes father…” She stood up solemnly. “I think we’ve done enough damage… we need to pull back I have nothing that can take down such quick moving targets easily… instead we will escape under a smoke screen…” She moved her hands upwards. “Tal” and with this pitch black clouds began to flow forward with a gentle wind. “Follow the wind and we will hit the current… and be well on our way to escape.”

"Fall back. We're done here!" As he was shouting this, he headed for the helm, quickly stirring the ship away from the shore and the deadly projectiles being fired from there. He grinned slightly over at the Nightfall, tilting his hat as he did so. No need to let Scarlet know he was ever worried at all.
Setting
0.00 INK
To his surprise, Scarlet was doing that herself at present, and so he resumed his navigator's post beside her as the crew scurried about to engage the sails and get them out. A smokescreen fell over them, but Stefan knew which direction they were going in without having to actually see it, and so it would prove no problem.
Scant minutes later, they were out and away, headed back towards Axandra, presumably, to plan the next course of action. Certainly, damaging a shipyard was tactically significant, but it was nowhere near the scale they would need to do real, crippling damage. Frankly, as much as he liked to rely on his rational mind, he was beginning to wonder if they weren't going to need to seek some supernatural help to get it done. There was no mistaking that Nexus had some, after all. They needed to learn that kind of thing, too, if at all possible. Number would never be on their side, so they were going to need to be far superior somewhere else, preferably skill and strategy. He hated luck.

Mara strolled out from the under deck looking around before tilting her head solemnly. “Uh… were being followed…” She said pointing over to a clear horrizon. “Hiding with magic… my brother must really hate you if he’s resorting to that so early… anti-magical shields… very well hidden except the wave’s it hits are off by several seconds. Leaving the distinct impression of… looks like a…” She raised a brow seeming slightly confused. “A Tear of the Saint… those ships were decommissioned…”

"Well, I do have the tendency to rub off on people. Or rub them the wrong way. Either, or, or both," he told her with a laugh as he spun the helm sharply to follow Shift's directions to the route to Axandra, as though he had forgotten already. Well, sometimes he helmed the ship with a bit too much rum, but that was another story. He grinned at Mara's comment about the enemy ship. He spun the helm again to face the ship.
"Ah. Just like the good-ol' days. Oi! Daedalous! Projections!" he called even as Neria screamed at the men to assume battlestations. Daedalous nodded and murmured a few words, making the shapes of four more Chaoses appear, looking as real as the original, though with the ship's name reversed. Sure enough, as the Sea's Chaos fired her cannons, they fired their illusionary ones in unison. Sirius looked over at Scarlet's figure and shouted, "Let's double team 'em, shall we?!"
He left the decision up to Scarlet. If she moved to fire upon it from a distance, then he would join in, but if she moved to board... Sirius grinned. It had been a long time since they boarded a ship together and a new ship was always useful.
Setting
0.00 INK
Scarlet was thinking the same thing. "Don't fire!" she yelled to Sirius. "There's something odd about this whole situation!" Sure, it was possible that the Black Shield was still using an old ship for some reason, but that wasn't all that likely. Maybe this particular vessel belonged to someone else. It was a shot in the dark, but maybe ti belonged to someone that wouldn't kill them on sight.
She'd have to wait until the could make out more details of exactly what they were dealing with, but that could be done. It would take nerves of steel on the part of everyone involved, but if the ship turned out to be hostile, it would be possible to tell in advance and still escape, she was almost positive. Plus, it was one ship, and they were two. Barring anything extraordinary aboard that ship, the advantage was theirs.
"Songrose!" she called for her newest crew member. "I want you to fetch the colored flags from the storage room!" There was a chance she might actually need to use them to convey a desire for parley if the ship did not belong to the Shield.
Setting

His crew fired a few more volleys before they heard them, but at last, they paused in their cannonades, though Daedalous still kept up his Projections. Sirius grimaced, looking through his spyglass at the ship. He was really hoping it was an enemy or someone they should shoot.
"Why do I never think these through?" he asked himself.
"That's something I ask myself all the time," Daedalous stated dryly.
"Not helping."
"My apologies, Captain."

Still, she recognized the figure of Senitora, and though she doubted he could hear Sirius at that distance, he and his crew would be able to see the flags beneath her normal red rose on a black field. Hopefully that would be sufficient.
"The White Saint... now there's a vessel I hadn't counted on seeing again..." she murmured to herself, but Stefan heard from beside her. He said nothing though, merely kept his hands at the tiller, ready to maneuver closer if the large ship agreed to parley.

"Captain Senitora," she greeted amicably, inclining her head. "It has been a long time. What brings you out to these seas?" She was genuinely curious; she was unsure what had happened to this ship or its crew in the wake of the Black Shield's advent. She certainly had not placed them as the sorts to convert, and had thought them in hiding or dead.
