Name: Diarmad Mactiernan
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Role: Eklund Coven member
Face Claim: Tom Hardy
Species : Vampire
Occupation: Bartender at the Black Rose Tavern.
Appearance :
Diarmad MacTiernan can best be described as "roguish" or "ruggedly-charming", from his beard that he occasionally lets get away from him, to his startling moss-green eyes and deep baritone flavored by a rich irish-brogue. His chestnut colored hair is usually kept short and styled messy, while his facial hair tends to be a bit heavier in red.
Diarmaid has been thought of as an "imposing" figure physically, covered in a menagerie of tattoos, scars and sporting a strong, tall and athletic appearance ( 6'1'', 210 lbs). In fact, it might seem out of place for him to smile or laugh, but in truth, he enjoys both.
Personality : Diarmad has lived a rough, bloody life, and it does wear on him at times, but the Eklund Coven gave him a sense of belonging and began the long process of healing and change. He is very loyal. compassionate and protective if someone has earned it, but unforgiving and merciless to those who cross the coven or himself. He has a temper, but has (for the most part) reigned it in under his control. Socially, he is reclusive as they come. He enjoys the company of few others, preferring a good book, strong whiskey and a cigar, and despite the stereotype about the Irish being loud and talkative, he is definitely the exception.
Background : Diarmad was born a vampire, his family belonging to the Croftwell Coven in London, UK. The Crofwell's made a living controlling various parts of the blackmarket and human-trafficking, in which Diarmad was made to be an enforcer.
During his upbringing, he was subjected to and later committed various levels of cruelty and violence, participating in all manner of crimes and developed an infamous reputation involving assault and sometimes even murder for the Croftwell coven.
An even more unfortunate part of his upbringing was forced consumption of human-blood which later, as his body built a tolerance to its toxic effects, became a dependency. Something the Croftwell's used on many of its non-blood related members as insurance to keep addicts like Diarmad in line, and to give them an edge in an altercation with its berserker-like affects on consumers.
Eventually, the Croftwell's lost need for addicts like Diarmad, for even when one builds tolerance to human-blood, it still kills them at a slow but steady rate, and so he and a few others were left out on their ass with no means to obtain their fix, and so relied on getting their source from unlucky humans. Eventually the murders and kidnappings drew unwanted attention, which led to the Croftwell's killing or otherwise driving Bleeders like Diarmaid from London.
It was months later when Diarmad heard stories of the Swedish Eklund Coven's exodus to the U.S, and with aid from a few contacts, he sought them out. Surprisingly, they let the recovering Vampire in, where he has held a place in the Coven for the last few years.
