[☎] Staying optimistic - "I'm one of camp's resident sunshines! I'm always optimistic and cheery."
[☎] Cooking - "Basic life skill, everyone. Learn to cook or date a person who cooks and you'll never starve. I like feeding people."

[â˜ĸ] Failure - "I worked real hard to get here, and I have to succeed."
[â˜ĸ] Flying - "I can't get on planes. I do not trust a hunk of metal to hold me up in the air for hours."
[â˜ĸ] Storms - "Mostly it's related to flying. I experienced turbulence once. Once. Also one time I got struck by lightning, so yeah."
[â˜ĸ] Isolation - "My life revolves a lot around people and I can't imagine being lonely."

Secrets
"It's nothing big, but I got struck by lightning when I was younger and survived. I'm still waiting to see if I'm getting any superpowers."

Personality
{ Dedicated, Confident, Agreeable, Friendly, Inoffensive }
Chris is of the outgoing, straight-shooting types. Enthusiastic and excitable, she's a doer who lives in the world of action. Her preferred method of execution is to plunge right into things without any introspection or theory. She has an uncanny ability to perceive people's emotions and motivations, and can pick up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most other people, such as facial expressions and stance. She is typically a couple of steps ahead mentally of the person she's interacting with, and uses this ability to get what she wants out of a situation. For her, rules and laws are a guideline for behaviour, and not usually mandatory. If she's already decided that something needs to be done, then her "do it and get on with it" attitude takes priority over the rules. However, she has her own strong belief in what's right and what's wrong, and lives by her integrity.

Chris has a strong flair for style, which helps her knowledge about dancing and style. She moves and talks fast, but can learn to appreciate the finer things in life. She typically makes things up as she goes along instead of following a plan. She loves to have fun, and is generally a fun person to be around. She doesn't like to think the worst of people, and always does her best to treat everyone equally.

Active and sporty, Chris needs to keep moving, and will become stifled and unhappy dealing with routine chores. She has a natural abundance of energy and enthusiasm, and is action-oriented. In conclusion, she is a practical, observant, fun-loving, spontaneous risk-taker with the excellent ability of improvising an innovative solution to a problem. Enthusiastic and fun to be with, she's a great motivator. Add to that the fact that she knows where exactly she wants to go in life, and she knows she can accomplish truly exciting things.

Chris was born to relatively well off parents. Her dad was a lawyer and her mum was an architect. They had good lives, but Chris always felt a little pressure to be better, study harder. As her parents were often not at home, Chris was enrolled in multiple classes. She took exceptionally well to dancing classes, and threw herself heart and soul into dancing. It was a good way to pass time, and she enjoyed it very much.

When she was 12, she got struck by lightning, caught out in the middle of a field with nowhere to duck while on a family vacation. Chris was rushed to hospital immediately, and thankfully survived, but it left a network of scars up her back that have never really faded. An active preteen stuck in hospital, Chris needed entertainment, and her parents allowed her to fill in a page of a magazine to enter in a competition. The competition was simple, requiring her to design a few costumes and send them in. Chris received second place, and when the Blythes returned home Chris begged for her sewing lessons to be replaced with easy design classes, which were much easier. Like dancing, this creation came easily to her (and besides, she really sucked at sewing).

The lightning strike didn't affect her as much as the doctors expected, and within a couple of months Chris was up and dancing again. Her love for movement spread to a few of her schoolmates, and four years later they entered as a group in America's Best Dance Crew and won. That same year, the idea of Lake Walney Theatrical Camp came up, and somehow or other Chris's mother had it in her mind to send her daughter there. They had the means, after all.

Well, Chris was no star singer or actress, but she found that she liked helping out with outfits and makeup and had lots of fun. The next year she went back, and one can only imagine her surprise when she was asked to be head of costumes and makeup in her third year.

time: 8:30pm
date: July 10th
weather: Clear Skies, Breezy
current event: Bi-weekly Bonfire

Often times, students will be up practicing and hanging out right until curfew, which is 11pm at this camp. However, twice a week they all come together for the bi-weekly bonfire, in which the campers hang out, roast hot dogs, kabobs, and marshmallows, and often times perform. It functions like a mini talent show of sorts, as students get up to sing or perform skits. There is often a few games of improv going, and in general everyone has fun. Attendance is mandatory, although some of the more tired or less extroverted students will often hide away in the back of the circle's rings, or sneak back to their cabin to occupy their time with something else.

Currently, the campers are eating and playing around with one another, the performances and improv games having not yet begun. As their camp is distanced from cities, the stars are clear to those who look up, dazzling against the night sky. It's a rather picturesque setting, really.

╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
After the student director of the camp play gets up and gives a quick briefing on where they are at, Nora begins to rise. They started working on the musical about two weeks ago now, having done casting rather immediately after the beginning of camp. This means that actors should be memorizing their lines, the sets have been at least designed, but certainly have begun to be built, etc. She needs only to say this and sit back down: easy enough. The young woman hops up in front of the campfire, which sets an orange halo of light around her, just as it does everyone who stands before it, and smiles. "I'm happy to say that we are pretty much on track as far as the musical goes. Parts have been cast, actors are memorizing their lines, my production heads are already getting to work. Actually, tomorrow, I want my actors to help with building the set for an hour before we start on practice --it'll help things move along a lot faster, and will familiarize them with it. Want to make sure that it won't be hastily done, and have it fall out from beneath us, right?" In fact, that very thing had happened during last year's production of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum. The actress playing Philia broke her leg as a result, it had been a royal disaster.

Thinking about it made Nora nervous. She tried to dismiss the thought. "That's about it. Erm. Good work so far," she adds, before going back into the group to take a seat beside Pepper and Chris. Unintentionally, it seemed that those working on the musical all sat on one side, while the cast of the play were on the other. The two had plenty of friendships, even some relationships, binding them, but once the work began, the groups tended to start forking off. It happened every year.

"That was awful, Nora, darling. Never be a motivational speaker. So lacking," Mason, known to Nora as Pepper, remarks teasingly. He glances at her, but his attention is primarily focused on the hotdog that he has spent the last ten minutes roasting over the fire. It looks done, maybe. He doesn't want to take the chance of eating raw meat and then missing out on rehearsal due to food poisoning, though. Two years ago a lead had done that --it's how Mason, originally an understudy, had managed to land one of the primary roles of that year's musical. He did not intend to let another understudy be so lucky in regards to his part.

Nora just sticks her tongue out at him. She may tend to be over anxious and hard on herself about these sorts of things, but she's known Mason for too long to allow him to be the source of any insecurity on her part. His mocking is constant, and leads one to develop thick skin. She would know, having grown up next door to him. He was the nuisance brother she never had. The young woman turns her attention to Chris, smiling. "Chris, wouldn't tonight be a grand time for a late night walk?" she asks, voice low. Of course Chris will know precisely what Nora is implying: the best time to strike at other cabins, and try to steal their flags, is of course early on, before they've grown protective. Not a single flag has been stolen yet, that she's aware. Nora, who loves taking the flags of others but panics at the idea of losing her own, intends to be the first to steal one.

Mason, too, knows what Nora is talking about. Last year, his cabin and hers had teamed up to steal the flags of other cabins, only to have a sudden death sort of back and forth match the final week of camp. His cabin had won, and he intends to keep the victorious streak going, even if it has more to do with him and less to do with the entire cabin. "Be sure you don't accidentally wander into the wrong cabin on your way back, then. It is rather dark," he comments to them. Translation: Don't expect to try and steal my flag.

Scott sat down beside the fire and was handed a stick and a few marshmallows by a fellow camper. He thanked them as they scurried away. His eyes then proceeded to look up at the student director, who gave the same speech at every bonfire occasion. With an eye roll, he saw that Nora had rose up from her seated position, which almost caused him to smile a little bit. His eyes were locked on her especially when she started to talk about the musical and how it was going.

"Dude, your marshmallows are burning." Someone whispered to him as he shushed them and continued one listening to Nora. Scott applauded when Nora was done speaking, hell even gave her a standing ovation but he realized he was the only one standing, he immediately sat back down and heard a few campers laugh here and there. His eyes flashed over towards Mason, who was talking to Chris and Nora then back at his already burnt marshmallows. "I tried to tell ya', man." The camper said while getting up and leaving Scott's side.

While continuously sitting there, he wondered who flag was going to get taken first. He also wondered where his cabin mate, Oliver was. Scott shook his head then stood up and made a small trek over to Nora, Chris and Mason. "Hello there, my fellow camp mates." He greeted them while wrapping his arms around them all. "Tonight is a great night, huh? Question, what are you guys for the mini talent show?" Scott asked them then turned towards Mason. "Are you going to do what you do every year and bore us to death?" He mockingly yawned, leaned back and fell off of the log, laughing while standing back up.

"Of course, I am dancing since I got some serious moves. Plus, dancing is what I love to do." Scott did a few dance moves to show off his skills then sits back down with them. He was usually known as the jokester of the group and he knew that Mason wasn't going to take his joke seriously, given their long history with one another.

Scott felt good being back at camp since he loved the laid back atmosphere that it had about it - Except when Nora be barking orders at them during rehearsal but hey, she liked it then he loved it. His eyes wondered around the bonfire one more time, searching for his cabin mate again. His eyes averted to Chris and Nora as he leaned in towards them. "Well, ladies, I must be off to practice my moves for the show. Ta-ta, for now." With that being said, Scott jumped up off the log and went back to his cabin to change outfits and also practice his dance moves.

Chris reached over and rubbed Nora's shoulder comfortingly. "You did great," she soothed. "Stop being so nervous. Here, eat." She grabbed a handful of marshmallows from a bag lying nearby and grabbed Nora's hand, pushing the marshmallows into her palm.

She glanced around at the rest of the group, people sitting around, laughing and eating. This was possibly the best part of Blackbox Manor, the campfires were a great time for everyone to kick back and relax. Everyone, that is, except for Nora and Chris, who would of course try to make it off early to steal another pair's flag.

As if reading Chris's mind, Nora turned to her. "Chris, wouldn't tonight be a grand time for a late night walk?" she commented, and Chris could hardly help the huge grin that sprang to her face. "Hell yes, you betcha." At Pepper's comment, Chris pursed her lips thoughtfully. "Gee whiz, Pepper, what a thought. If we lost our way," and here she leaned closer, lowering her voice, "I would leave a trail of marshmallows for the insects and birds to find, you know?" She thought back to one year when a group had been having midnight snacks in their rooms, which inevitably led to creepy crawlies of all sorts looking around for food.

Before she could get up, though, Scott came over, and Chris eyed him thoughtfully, wondering if they should attempt to steal his flag. Scott could be pretty overprotective of what he deemed to be his stuff. "That's mean. Every year I see you repeat the same dance moves," she accused. "Don't think I don't see you reusing your moves."

Once he'd left, Chris turned to Nora. "Whose do you want to take first? I'm thinking the purple is a lovely shade this year."

Charlie sat quietly on a log in a group comprised mostly of that year's understudies, watching the flames leap up and crackle, sending sparks whirling up into the night sky. The understudies were around his age, and most of them were laughing and joking around, having already made friends amongst themselves. Charlie thought he could survive.

"Jin, you're not getting enough sugar. Look at you, all skin and bones. Eat something." Some crackers and chocolate was shoved into his hand, and Charlie looked up with a faint smile. "Thanks," he murmured, nibbling at the biscuits gingerly.

He wasn't really one to make fast friends with anyone anytime soon, but Charlie thought he could get used to this.

Mason raises an eyebrow at Chris's threat of bugs in his cabin, but his expression spreads into an amused smile. He had to admit, it is an excellent threat. No one wants the insect infestation that the orange cabin had been subjected to a few years ago. He doesn't recall who had been in the cabin at the time, because all that really mattered was how funny it was to see them running out of the cabin, which had apparently become a buffet to cockroaches and ants, as if fleeing death itself. Nora is grinning at Chris's implication of messing with Mason's cabin, as she has always loved the various tricks inevitably brought out by the Flag Wars. This camp may be intended for theatre, but the campers certainly have talents for mischief, stealth, and the like. At least, the ones in cabins worth mentioning do, for those are the ones whose flags are the most valuable, pride wise. Besides, she's still dead set on beating out Pepper and his cabin mate after having lost to his cabin during last year's flag war. It had been a sore point for days, falling behind during that final death-match of a weekend. "That sounds delightful. I may have to go on a midnight stroll of my own, then. Perhaps stargazing on a roof?" Two years ago, a cabin crept into another cabin and stolen their luggage, only to spread their clothing out on the roof of the canteen. It was relatively harmless, and all of the clothing had remained wet and cold on the roof until the campers finally found them a few hours later.

Nora smiles up at Scottie when he approaches them with a greeting, though she makes a little squeaking noise when he hugs them all that once, because it squishes her between Mason and Chris, robbing the air from her lungs. Scottie does occasionally have overzealous hugs, though perhaps mainly when he manages to wrap his arms around more than one person a time, as he has just done. "Hello, Scottie. How is our Prez doing? Getting into the role of skirtchaser yet?" she responds cheerily. At his question about the talent show, the girl's smile becomes slightly more lopsided. She shrugs, "I could always boss people around for my talent. Wouldn't that be fun?" The mocking is thick in her words, though it is pointed entirely towards herself. She always dislikes herself after losing her cool on people during rehearsals, and yet seems incapable, as of yet, of fixing the problem. Chalk it up to nerves, for that is undoubtedly the primary source.

Mason's reaction is a sort of smile similar to his response to Chris's threat of bugs in his cabin. "Perfection waits for no one, twinkletoes. I agree --you ought to update your dance arsenal," of course, he actually gets along well with Scottie, in a friendly rivalry sort of way. Both are very prideful individuals, and they have competed over roles in the past. Nora waves farewell to Scottie as he leaves, but is quick to betray him, it seems, as she smiles at Chris's proposal.

"I've heard tell purple is the new red," she answers, as red had been the color of the first flag stolen last year.

CJ paused in his active circling around the camp fire, attempting to find an ideal food for him. The student director began to give a speech, and he popped down in a seat near him, slightly bumping the person next to him, but for the most part solely turning his attention to the speaker. He prepared to stand back up, when he saw Nora rise. At this, Cj positioned himself to be comfortable, anticipating a long speech from the young woman.

But he was wrong. She spoke only for a few seconds, in short and awkward sentences. Absorbing what she was saying, he thought of his progress so far with the play. It was good, more or less. He'd figured out many of the light shows and scene change set ups, but not everything. It was okay, he had time. As Nora finished, he joined in the applause, giving her a soft cat call and chuckling, standing back up. Cj saw her return to he seat near Mason, and decided he would make his way over there, however first and foremost, he was looking for food.

Spotting a bag of mini marshmallows, he moved closer to the fire, took them, then made his way back to the outside.

Tossing one in the air, he surprised himself by catching it in his mouth. He continued to do so as he made his way over to Mason, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Nora getting up with Chris. On a quick instinct, he tossed a few marshmallows, watching them bounce off Nora's face as she moved away.

Cj continued his way to Mason, shooting him a wide grin before tossing up, and successfully catching 6 marshmallows in his mouth.

"What's going on?"
