Introduction

In the middle of the 15th century, life wasn’t as peaceful anymore. The Government was beginning to weaken and taken over by tyrants known as ‘Onii’. Villagers in Japan have been living in fear due to great number of wars, lack of resources and unfair laws that has been announced. Lords have taken an advantage in this situation and were sucking the wealth out of the blood, sweat and soul of the lower class. Innocent people have been killed mercilessly just because they don't follow the laws or they just feel like shedding blood. Suicide rates also increase because it was believed that it was better to perform seppuku than die from an enemy’s blade.

Legend was spread across towns that there was a rebellion group with very powerful and unmatched skills. With their skills, they roamed throughout Japan, helping those who are in need. Their purpose was to bring peace in Japan and retreat the power back that was taken away from the tyrants. Seven heroes wield a blade and that’s why they are named, the Shichitou, meaning the Blades of Seven. The true warriors' heart and soul have inspired many villagers to hold onto hope and fight in what they believe In. This news brought the Onii to fear and their only solution was to bribe and put the rebel group as the most wanted criminal.

Although there is a hint of peace spreading through each town, there was another group that was just as famous as the Shichitou. Government or not, they would slaughter anyone in order to survive and get what they want. The group is known as the Akumu, meaning Nightmare.
Whenever there is a battle, five survivors were used to spread rumors about the group. Whoever survived, they suffered just as much pain as the people who were slaughtered. Why? No one knew but they claimed that it was black magic.
When the victim is left to live, they would come back with horror in their sparkless eyes, hallucinate and go ballistic when ever someone goes close to them, as if they are in a nightmare. Then when they have calmed down a bit, their voices would tremble as they tell the story about the group.
Finally, after telling their story, the mind breaks and they commit suicide. Doctors found no cure for this illness because they do not have a clue about the cause. All they would say was that the control was the only cure to this suffering.

Lastly, their are four demon clans. One in the East, known as the Yukimura Clan. One in the West, Known as the Kazama Clan. One in the North, known as the Tenzou Clan. One in the South, known as the Miyashiro Clan. These demon clans, live peacefully and away from human affairs, though the leaders have caught interest, and have offered there help as a nuetral side...They agree to fight for either side, if convinced.
Each leader has a ninja bodyguard, that follows all orders from their masters. There ninja has been in the family that serves the demons.
Japan has been in chaos for many years. Now that the journey for everyone has begun. Which side would you choose? Will you bring peace in Japan once more?

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 13 authors

Ren looked at his sword, and watched as light danced off of it around the room. It seemed clean enough...for now. He was about to put it back into his sheath, but then remembered her had thrown it away, as it was split from the earlier encounter. With a sigh, he laid the blade back on his lap, as he looked at the red stains on the formerly white cloth. He'd have to get another cloth and sheath before he left.
His crimson eyes blinked, as he heard a shift of movement from behind him. Looks like either woken up or or was having a nightmare. He didn't glance back, as he simply stared outside the window. Though, when the girl cleared her throat, he simply turned his head slightly to show he was listening.
"We are at an Inn, as you can see...and you were out for maybe twenty minutes."
He responded simply, with a shrug of his shoulders. He was still honestly wondering why he didn't simply just leave her? Maybe he was just curious of the girl, after all throughout their small fight she was quite amusing. After a few moments of silence, he turned his head slightly. Giving the girl a crimson glance he then spoke again.
"You have an aura reading ability, correct? Is that how you saw my name?" He spoke as if it was more of a fact then a question. After all, he had met demons with this unique ability...never cared much for them until now.

"You have an aura reading ability, correct? Is that how you saw my name?" Mulling over a response, her voice finally shattered the momentary silence between them, her words being carefully placed. "You are.. correct.. Instinctively feeling exposed, the girl masterfully diverted the conversation back to him.. anything to keep from being question."So.. you are not only a demon, but a Ronin at that? Do you have any powers?"
Awaiting his response, the girl managed to lean on her elbows once more.. this time, the pain not accompanying. Attempting to further test her lifeless body, her mind willed for her toes to move. However, that was quickly halted as pain shoot through her skull once more."Damn it... still no functions..." was her soft hiss, annoyance bitterly lacing each word.

He turned his body to fully face her, as he leaned against the wall. Ren removed his sword from his lap, placing it on the left side of him, shutting his eyes as he listened to the girl's response. As she confirmed about her ability, he simply released a light sigh.
So she was a demon...but why did she faint then? The ability usually didn't cause demons to faint...and their was also that lack of strength she also had as a flaw...it didn't make sense.... His eyes closed slowly, as if falling asleep as he continued that train of thought.
He peaked open his left eye, and looked toward the girl as she directed a question toward him next. About him being a ronin...well is that what humans called a wanderer? He supposed that he could call himself that, after all he had no place to return too.
"If that's what humans call people who simply travel, then I suppose so." He responded, as he continued to peer at the girl with one crimson eye. He shook his head slightly, to show that he did not have any other powers besides his enhanced strength and speed.
Though then the girl hissed out something about functioning, but chose not to say anything about it. His other eye opened, and he looked toward the girl. "Now, with my other question...What exactly are you? You seem like a demon, yet are not one but also not human...Are you a cross perhaps?" He asked, looking at the girl.
That was the only solution he could think of, although it was quite a long shot. He had never heard of someone like that before.

Whipping her head to the side, that alarmed gaze latching onto him, Rin couldn't help but have her breathing stop. He doesn't know what a Ronin is..? Perhaps he isn't one then.. With a dejected sigh, the girl tore her gaze away from him, a new look colouring her features. A look of sobriety, of shame.. of disgust."Yes...thats what..humans call people who wander.." came the soft mutter, disdain make it evident she was lying. Sending a flicker over at his form, one eye only opened, the half-oni gave a slight shake of her head before going back to her experimentation.
"Now, with my other question...What exactly are you? You seem like a demon, yet are not one but also not human...Are you a cross perhaps?" broke her concentration, the pestering inquiry coming back from what she thought was it's death. Biting her lower lip, the girl sent a fleeting glance over at the sheathed katana aligned with her futon, pseudo innocence radiating off it. With a resigned frown, a slender hand reached out to grasp the lethal weapon. Retrieving it to sit on her lap, Rin sent a nervous glance up at Kyoya before looking back down at her weapon."My father was a demon..my mother was not however." was her clipped tone, a hand grasping around it's hilt. Pulling the blade halfway out, the Ronin gave a cringe feeling the prodding sensation above both ears. Instantly, two curved dragon horns appeared from under her hair..the mark of her Oni blood.

Ren tilted his head in question, as the girl responded back. So...he was classified as a ronin then...after all he had no place to return too. As that thought crossed his mind, he simply looked down toward his sword. A vacant look in his eyes, if it was anyone but Ren, one would call it sadness perhaps? Or maybe longing? He didn't know. Though then the girl spoke again, about her parents, and his head shot up fast. Confusion evident on his face. So he was right then?
Not many things could surprise Ren, in fact this was the most surprising things that happened to him in awhile-the other being when he escaped form the Kazama clan. His eyes widened, as the girl spoke of her parents. That was enough to show that this new fact and surprised him, as he remained silent instead of a comment. It was possible for that to happen? he had never heard of such a thing before.
Though then the girl touched her katana, and picked it up. He watched in interest as the girl held the hilt, and slid out her katana. He blinked in surprise as the girl's horns had appeared. So...that explained everything about why she hadn't drawn it earlier during their scuffle.
His scarlet gaze stared at her, for what seemed like hours though it was only seconds as he took in his form. A smirk pulled at his lips, as he murmured something to himself.
"A half-breed eh....How interesting...and amusing..."
With that said, he stood up and walked toward the futon where she sat. He sat down, crossing his legs, as he looked at the girl. Ren slowly reached over toward her, and touched her horns, gently and softly, as if to make sure they were actually there. When he felt the hardened bone under his finger tips, he let his hand fallback in his lap. A moment of silence split through the room, as he then said "Your name?"

A blush graced her alabaster skin hearing his comment, embarrassment being it's cause. Giving a small hmp of humiliated annoyance, Rin turned to stare at the opposing wall."D-Don't talk about me like I'm an object! It's degrading." Once again, prepared to hide her flaw from the world, Rin was about to close the katana when shuffling occupied their silence. Within a heartbeat, Kyoya was sitting next to the edge of her futon, legs crossed like an elementary student. Sending him a scornful gaze, she bluntly clipped out in a disapproving tone."What is it? You look like a child..a dim-witted one, mind you, who is fascinated with something trivial."
Then it happened. He just reached out, not even daring to ask permission, to touch a horn, his contact remaining there for a few seconds. Instinctively flustered, that light blush turned to a shade of rose, suddenly unsure what she was going to do a few moments prior. Rin.. what the hell is the matter? He just touched your horns! reasoned her thoughts, evidently trying to make that confusion disappear. Giving a slight swallow, the girl averted her violet gaze back down to the futon, to the hands clutching tightly at the blankets."What...was..t-that? Do..don't touch them again." stuttered out her response, distress tangible.
Once more, a silence filled the small space until the male demon took it upon himself to disclose it. "Your name?" It was a simple request, an easy answer to most... but for Rin, it ensued a long pause. Stealing a moment to ponder in wide-eyed confusion, her mind began to race. Should I tell him the truth..? Or... lie? Maybe.. he won't notice.. but then again, I'm a horrible liar... battled that inner voice, finally deciding on the latter option. Trying to keep her voice even, a bubble of triumphant fluttered within her core hearing how naturally she sounded.. until her breath hitched at the ending."I am called Rin.." Cursing in her mind, she only prayed to the heavens that this man didn't detect her lie.

Ren tilted his head in response to her insults. She was the one who looked more like an little child with her body. He decided not to voice that thought, though he was tempted too. As she asked him why he did that, though he did note the rosy color of her cheeks that had darkened like crazy withing a few moments. Now who was the child? He simply offered a shrug in response, before he actually responded.
"I've never seen horn such as these before." He responded simply, in a matter-of-fact tone. He wasn't one to ask permission to do something when it could be done. Simple as that.
Though then even more curious, he gently took the scabbard from her hands, and sheathed it fully to see if the horns would go back in. Then he unsheathed it, and sheathed it again as the girl spoke her supposed name. He didn't look up from his actions, as he responded back to her.
"I asked your name, not what other people call you."
He doubted that was her real name, after all he had heard rumors of this "Rin" girl, and he knew that the people who spoke of her didn't actually know what her name was. Also, with the fact that she took so long to anwser a simple question further gave away her name she had just spoken was fake. He continued with the sheathing, and unsheathing of the girl's sword, as he watched her horn appear and disappear. After all, when would he have another chance like this?

"I've never seen horn such as these before." floated out his simple excuse, the very sound of his voice chasing away any traces of smolder from her face. Quirking an eyebrow at his statement, Rin closed her eyes before muttering out.."It is still impolite." It was in that second that weight disappeared from her lap, an odd sensation in it's absence. Eyes shooting open in alarm, the Ronin's breath stopped altogether seeing him hold her katana. Eyes pleading, she practically begged of him,"S-Stop! Please don't!" However that plea fell on deaf ears.
Apparently providing endless amusement to him, Rin's horns continuously disappeared and reappeared, that tingling prodding never stopping. With a huff of annoyance, an eyebrow twitched with agitation knowing he was beyond reason. With a fleeting glance down at her legs, her mind willed her body to jolt in action. Gritting her jaw in discomfort, the half-oni girl finally managed to stand. Typically, she would have felt a glow of pride knowing what she had just done.. however, the pricks of pins and needles discouraged her to do so. With a visible wince, Rin took a step forward from the futon and towards Kyoya, who was still playing the idiotic game of "Lets-see-how-fast-we-can-make-Rin's-horns-disappear". However, just as her left foot was about to leave the blankets, it got entangled around the ankle. Suppressing a shriek of surprise, Rin forcibly turned to unravel it..unfortunately it was a mistake. She had lost any sense of balance during the struggle and in a blur, she had fallen.. onto the male demon's lap.
Rin had managed to land in his lap as if she was sitting in a chair, her back to his chest, yet that didn't make it any less humiliating. Not even bothering to contain the blush furiously creeping across her cheeks, Rin managed out a small sorry, her voice overlapping his question. With a hard swallow, her legs still quite numb, her answer came in a sheepish, distilled manner.."Sayuri."

He herd the girl's retort, slightly laced with venom, but made no comment of it. After all, she seemed to hate her demon side for some reason...was it because it cursed her with such an appearance? Or maybe for some other reason he didn't know? He continued his little game, as he was honestly, really entertained by doing so.
Though as the girl stood up, he noticed as she winced. He sheathed the sword for a final time, placing it beside him as he could tell what would happen next as the girl tried to yank off the blanket that curled around around her ankle like a snake. Ren's gues swas correct, as she her petite body fell right onto his lap.
With a sigh, he then said in a slightly amused tone. "Falling into my lap already it seems." A chuckle at the end of the sentence. Then the girl anwsered his previous question with her name. He let a huff of air escape his lips, as he retorted back to the girl.
"Now, that wasn't hard now was it?" He still didn't know why the girl had hesitated in the first place to simply state her name. Shrugging it off, he then continued to speak, as he tried to imagine how red she must be at the moment, since he couldn't see her face as it was facing the front.
"So Sayuri...what exactly did you see in my aura?" He asked nonchalantly. He was quite curious about the reading, since he only knew it could see emotions...which was why his old plot had gotten discovered...and also why he had really no place to return too, which he didn't mind as much now then he did before.

As a huff of air passed through his lips, his retort came in a sarcastic manner, infuriating Rin even further. "Now, that wasn't hard now was it?" For some odd reason, her temper flared at that simple line, fire alighting in her orbs. Only raising her voice slightly, an unheard and shocking emotion filled her words.. one that seemed almost out of character for her."Don't. You have no place to judge what is difficult for me and what is not." barked out the hardened voice, infuriation drenching each word. Taking in a jagged breath, Rin vainly attempted to quell the boiling lava within her, the fury only slightly subduing.
A silence filled the room once more, something of which was happening a tad bit too often for normal, until Kyoya's nonchalant venturing made for conversation. "So Sayuri.. what exactly did you see in my aura?" Biting her lower lip, Rin gave a slight pause to ponder before letting out a soft, almost inaudible, whisper."It was... magnificent, beautiful.. more powerful than some of the ones I have seen. It was mainly scarlet, much like your eyes, but it had spun threads of gold and midnight.. Its,erm, hard to explain..Though I did see your name.. And I can assure you that you are far from death..".
The setting changes from Edo to Yukimura Village

Within that time Ayane finished smoking, turning her pipe over so to let the ashes fall out. Tapping it with one slender finger Ayane slid her mask back into place but left the cloth folded over her hat. A small smile on her lips she sat back in her seat her eyes looking over the scenery around her.
"After thinking through logically... I believe you are right, mistress, just as you always are."
“My dear girl I may have lived a long life but saying I’m always right isn’t exactly correct.” Ayane spoke softly to herself so Amaterasu wouldn’t hear her words. If the girl knew that her mistress doubted herself then problems would arise. What they would be she wouldn’t know, each living being in this world reacts differently.
"Mistress... have you ever met with the Yukimura? Or any of the other clan heads?"
Ayane thought for a moment wondering if she should shed more light on the fact that she has lived eight times to her guard. no that won’t be necessary. Although it was obvious Amaterasu was curious Ayane wasn’t about to let the conversation lead to more questions that needn’t be answered.
“No I have yet to meet the head of the Yukimura clan but I do know many things about her; things that she wishes I didn’t know of. As for the others I have only met the previous head for the Kazama clan however he is no longer in office. It’s the first time in 800 hundred years that all the clan heads were female something I’m sure the elders have a hard time accepting.”
Although the rest of the ride was a bit bumpy Amaterasu kept apologizing for it which both amused and irritated Ayane. Red eyes watched Amaterasu’s back not bothering to tell the girl of the wall they were headed right for. People are such simple creatures so easily distracted and this is the girl who has been protecting me for how long? frowning a bit.
"Miss Ayane,"
“Mmm
"We've arrived at the Yukimura's household.”
“Oh really, how delightful" her voice dry. Lifting the cloth back over her face Ayane prepared herself for stepping out of the carriage but hesitated by Amaterasu’s question.
"Do you need help getting out, Miss Ayane?"
Shuddering at the idea of having to touch her guard Ayane chose to ignore her offered hand as she would so often do. besides she isn’t paying attention to what I’m doing “Amaterasu I doubt there would be people trying to kill us so soon. Don’t waste your energy trying to find something that isn’t there.”
Patting down her kimono of any dirt that may have collected on the fine silk. Ayane looked around before taking slow steps towards the main household. She stood tall with her head held high to make a good impression on the servants. Her hands held before her in the folds of her sleeves Ayane paused just long enough to catch the attention of one of her own servants.
“Girl, do inform the head of our arrival.” the girl nodded happy to be of use and went in search of the Yukimura’s head or whoever was in charge of the household at the moment.
The setting changes from Yukimura Village to Edo

Unfortunately for Shinka's dreams, showing up to such an event without having properly washed for so long was improper, and the temptation of hot water was too great. With that said, Shinka had finished eating from the spread that Koemi had laid out before her, weighing the consequences of this great debate silently while she chewed. Having left more than enough for her servant to properly feed herself with the food she had brought, Shinka slid the remaining box over to her. "Perhaps you should start eating more than me; I have little need for a soft body or pleasant curves, whereas you might."
With that she uncrossed her legs and, again using her palms as extra leverage upon the table, lifted herself off of the floor and stood over her seated servant. Coming up with a respectable way to coat the fact that she was letting her desire to bath get the better of her, she addressed her ninja. "When you've finished eating we'll go see what manner of bath this inn has and clean ourselves as a respectful gesture to our kind guests the Yukimura's." Back at home, she had servants take care of most of the work while bathing; they undressed, cleaned, rinsed, dried, dressed and groomed her up until the point their constant fussing over her hair began to frustrate her. Now she supposed she would either have to do it herself or rely on her ninja, whose talent for washing others was unknown.

Hearing the girl's quick retort, he let out a chuckle again, before then saying "I haven't even touched you, yet you assume I am a pervert? Let me remind you, it was your little body that fell on me...so who's the more forward one here?" He said back, a smirk playing on his lips again.
As the girl explained what she saw in his aura, he tilted his head to the side, before leaning backward and resting his weight on his hands. "Kyoya Kazama...huh..." he muttered to himself, as his eyes seemed to go a little lost in his thoughts.
"I haven't used that name in years. I go by Ren now." He continued, not really sure if the girl was listening or not. Ren's features had a small frown as he fell back into his memories. The last person who had called him "Kyoya" was his dead brother...And of course, it was before he slid that sword straight into his heart. Right after that, he had changed his name, and didn't ever use that name again.
He blinked, and looked back at the girl's eggplant head. "Tell me, a ronin as you say...have no place to return too, correct? Does that make you one as well?" Ren had wondered why such a young girl seem to be wandering without anyone.
After all, in this day and age it was safer for women to travel together or in the company of men. The half-demon was the first girl he saw traveling alone. Was she alone as well like him?

Falling backwards into his upper body, the back of her head bumping against his chest, the half-oni had no choice but allow for a small "oh!" of surprise to escape it's confines. Fighting off that seemingly always-present blush, the small girl struggled vainly to pull her body upwards...however, without the use of one's legs, it is quite difficult. With a resigning groan, she fell back into the former position before hissing out stubbornly."D-don't get any wrong ideas, got it? My legs are still numb..". Her explanation, on the other hand, seem to have fallen on deaf ears as a wistful look crossed Kyoya's face. "Kyoya Kazama...huh..." was his quiet mutter, evidently drifting off to memory lane. A silence stretched between them, a silence Rin gladly accepted as she struggled to sit upright. "I haven't used that name in years. I go by Ren now." resonated his next words, jerking Rin out of her futile attempting. Quirking an eyebrow at him in surprise, the Ronin turned her head to stare at him with an emotionless blankness."Ren..? As in a lotus..? Or love?" was her inquiry, a small smile lifting up the corners of her mouth. Turning back around, her eyes closing in an attempt to remember, she finally mused out."My real name is,well.. was, Sayuri. "Little lily".. heh. My parents apparently thought it was fitting. But now, I am simply called 'Rin'. "Cold and dignified" Apparently the masses like to give names to something they fear.. Odd, isn't it?". With another soft sigh, the girl merely gave a slight shake of her head before muttering out in an inaudible manner."Humans... I'll never understand them. Even though I'm half myself.".
"Tell me, a ronin as you say...have no place to return to, correct? Does that make you one as well?" rang out his abrupt question, wonderment evident in his voice. Immediately, her small frame went rigid at the his roundabout definition. He's right though...'no place to return to' chided her inner thoughts as she released what felt like the hundredth sigh today."Yes....technically, thats the definition.. But.. a Ronin much more than a wanderer.. They are people..who are traitors. Someone who swore their loyalty to a certain figurehead.. only to betray them. Most of the times, betrayal being their leader's death." came her cautious voice, choosing her words with wariness.

Ren offered a shrug at the girl's comment about his fake name. "I picked Ren because I've always liked that name for some reason...hardly anything really sentimental." He couldn't remembered why he picked the name, it was so long ago.
Hearing the words about her name, and humans he simply offered a small chuckle to the girl, before saying "I've always disliked them...they are but fleeting beings who throw themselves away in war and such...but they are entertaining to a certain point I suppose." He said, as he yawned. Leaning his weight back on his hands, he then heard the girl's comment about a ronin. A chuckle escaped his lips.
"I suppose I am a ronin then, as a demon who was banished from his clan." He said simply, as he tilted his head in thought. He never swore loyalty toward the clan head, or his clan for that matter. He simply just lived there, and focused on fighting. But of course, in a demon clan it was expected to actually give loyalty toward the head without question...Hell, he never even met the head, and they expected him to do something like that? There was only two types of people in his mind. The strong and the weak.
He sat back up, then spoke speaking as soon as he finished his ronin comment, as if to shut the topic as quickly as it began. He didn't want to get into detail about why he was banished, or why he left. He had enough scars from that.
"How long do you plan to stay in Edo?"

Rin felt his head tilt to the side as he clipped out he was a Ronin, memories apparently taking hold of them. Thoughtfully biting her lower lip as he directed the question to her, the half-oni chose to completely ignore it. Giving a slight wiggle of her toes, the knife stabbing still existent, the Ronin gave a dejected sigh before turning her head to glance at him."What did you do that was so horrid you needed to be banished? Were you preying on the Daimyo's daughter? Hm, you lolicon?" came her serious words, a smile twitching on her lips.

Ren chuckled a bit as he heard the girl's reasoning for him getting banished. Like he would ever fall for a human woman, he despised them all. He had never met one he was interested in, except Sayuri at the moment. They were all the same and boring to him. He always found demons were such better choices to be the one out in the open instead of humans.
"That is horribly wrong and way of the mark. Though, nice try in making me look like a lolicon as you say." He responded easily. It was almost funny on how wrong the girl was, and he had to hold himself back from retorting about her parents...that seemed to be a touchy subject with her.
He paused, before then adding "Besides, that is all in the past. No one can change it, so it's no use talking about it." He continued with a nod. Ren honestly did not want to get into the whole past of his, as it was quite stupid now that the thought about it. Of course he never really regretted it, but didn't exactly enjoyed it, if that made sense.
It was over and done with. Simple as that.
It was uncommon, and extremely dangerous for a female to travel around in these warring times, let alone as a samurai. Should anyone with malevolent intentions discover that she masquerading as a male named Ryuu Hayashi, would almost certainly provide horrible consequences that sent a chill down Mio's spine just thinking about it. But she felt that she had to help stop the war, and that was something that, as a woman, was very hard to achieve during these times.
Glancing behind her, she noticed Araki had drifted further and further than when she had remembered last time. With an exasperated sigh, Mio turned on her heels and began to where Araki was staring. As much she loved working with the kind man, unless there was someone in trouble, he took his time during their travels, something that made Mio jittery.
Placing her hands on her hips, she quickly dropped them down to her twin, reversed blade sides, hands on the hips was not exactly the most manly thing to do. "Araki, if you don't get your but in gear, then I'll..." her threat was interrupted as a loud scream pierced through the clear air of the forest.
With a silent glance, Mio took off towards where the sound had seemed to come from, weaving elegantly through the trees. Adrenaline pumped through her veins, excitement rocketed through her like a bolt of lightening across the darkened sky. Ready for whatever dangerous trial would come their way. After all, this was what she was born to do.

Ren laughed a bit, before retorting to the girl.
"I doubt that, you would still refer to me as that title even after I tell you."
He said quickly, and evenly. Would she be scared to know what he had done? He had slaughter more people then her most likely, in cold blood. He slaughtered demons, and even plotted to eliminate humans...did she really need to know that? No, not at all...Though he was quite curious about why the girl was a ronin? He figured her parents were dead, as he heard nothing of a demon and human happily married.
"If I do tell you...will you anwser my question then?"
Perhaps a trade in information might be in order.

"Come on!” Yuji continued to beg the man. Why would he go so far just for a bottle of sake? While most people liked sake for its ability to wash away all bad memories, Yuji really just liked the taste of it. Well, that and the bottle since some, like the one he was looking at, had a really beautiful appearance, in his opinion.
“K-Kid…” The man said slowly, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. He apparently wasn’t the type of person to believe in others as easily, or one to hand out his sake to any children, “Maybe something else would grab your interest?” The man tried to change the subject, “Perhaps this?” He held up a wooden sword, something someone actually would give to child, but definitely not a teen or adult.
Yuji grumbled and murmured, ”Old man… I have work to do also, you know…” He began to beg, harder than usual, and all just for a simple bottle of sake. Was it that important to him? Seemingly, it was.
Just before the man was going to wave him off and say his final word, Yuji heard a familiar voice behind him say, ”Problem?”
Yuji turned around to also then see a familiar face. There, was the violent and crazy Shichitou, Takeshi Yuudai. Some people seemed to fear him, but to Yuji, people were people. They had their reasons for doing things. That’s why, after seeing him he grinned and said, ”Hey, Takeshi! Surprised to see you here, kind of.” He smiled because he was seeing someone in his group of seven, but also that he was hoping he’d buy the sake for him instead.
"W-Well, err... T-this boy wishes to purchase some s-sake... But I don't think he's of age to be drinking yet..." The old man replied, still fidgeting with his fingers and pacing on his feet, seeming to have grown more nervous and uncomfortable once Takeshi interrupted the two.
”I buy.” Takeshi growled, just as he slammed his hand onto the counter. Yuji glanced at it and saw that the money was stuck deep into the wood, giving a bit of a chuckle while the old man only gulped.
Just then, Takeshi grabbed the bottle and shoved it into Yuuji’s hands which he immediately grabbed before it could fall onto the ground and break, which would be worse since he’d probably never get it again, ”Thank, buddy!” He addressed, impolitely since Yuuji was really hardly polite to anyone belonging to the Shichitou.
Yuuji, right afterwards, grabbed the bottle and inspected how dark and lovely it was. He, as odd as it sounded, liked to inspect something’s, or even someone’s beauty before doing anything of the sort. After a little while of staring at it, he gently took off the cap on it, a strong fragrance of sweet alcohol emitting from it.
If he were to be honest, he would have to say that he began to drool just from the smell of the drink. He usually would wait to drink it in a place where, if he did get drunk, he wouldn’t be able to destroy anything by accident, but he couldn’t help himself and lifted the bottle to his lips about to take a sip before-
”Suzo waiting. Meeting now.”
Yuuji was yanked by his collar, quickly scrolling on the cap onto the sake bottle before any of it could spill, ”N-Now?” He asked, pouting a little bit, though trying to hide his childish sadness since he just got his sake that he was unable to drink. With a sigh, he held it with both hands and started walking forward, rather than having Takeshi drag him the whole way to the inn, ”Yes, yes, let’s get going then. But don’t be surprised if I start drinking during our conversations, yeah?” He asked while following right behind him, whistling a little along the way.

Just as she was about to openly defend the honor within her promises, the male Oni's tone came out evenly and swiftly, almost holding a sense of being coy embedded within his words. "If I do tell you...will you anwser my question then?" Quirking an eyebrow at him in a mixture between intrigue and hesitation, the half-oni took a pause."Al...right..." echoed out her prolonged response, uncertainty causing the syllables to stretch longer than necessary.
