|| Biography ||
Suzo was born to the family of a low ranking military captain. Being the only son Suzo was trained personally by his father to become a soldier of the emperor. Suzo was raised on the idea that the emperor's army wasn't just there for the interests of government but was also there for the people. His father trained him in the art of the spear in hopes that Suzo could some day become a cavalier which was a great honor among common soldiers. At the age of sixteen Suzo joined the military to defend the empire and its people. As his father had hoped Suzo was able to be a part of the emperor's elite cavalry. Suzo showed his prowess as a soldier and a leader among men and rose through the ranks.

After passing the officers' exam Suzo was promoted and granted a small personal company of soldiers. As an army captain Suzo was trained the art of the sword. Suzo was able to easily grasp the concepts presented and quickly became an expert swordsman. During his first campaign as an officer Suzo gained the reputation of being a cold hearted killer when when cut through the enemy lines, slaughtering them all without showing any sign of sympathy or emotion. By doing so he was also able to win the admiration of his troops by fighting in the front unlike most officers. Suzo ,with the help of a few colleges, trained his company into one of the finest army contingents. Backed by this extremely loyal and well trained army, Suzo was able to achieve one victory after another. When asked what was his brilliant strategy that won him so many battles Suzo simply replied that no legendary or complex strategy was involved and it was all from the skills and loyalty of his troops.

After the great war Suzo and his company transitioned themselves to some of the few peacekeeping forces of the emperor. As a peace keeping officer Suzo won the hearts and minds of the populace by doing things such as eliminating bands of troublesome bandits, performing rescue missions, and assisting local harvests. Suzo often says that his greatest pleasure from being an officer of the emperor was derived from helping the populace as a guardian of the peace. This peace did not last as long as some had hoped and was ended with the rise of the onii.

During the rise of the onii many of his colleagues were recruited with promises of wealth and power. This disgusted Suzo who viewed their allegiance to the onii as an act of treason against not only the emperor but also the people. When he was approached by the onni, Suzo was one of the few to refuse their offers. In response the onii sent his former comrades to hunt Suzo and his men down as well as the few officers who were still loyal to the emperor. One by one they loyal officers were killed off by their former comrades until only Suzo remained. Pursued by the people he had once called brethren Suzo and his men decided that they would no longer run and entrenched themselves for their final stand. In the end only Suzo remained, every single one of his soldiers were dead along with traitor officers who were sent to kill him. This period of chaos within the military lead to the overthrow of the emperor and the rise of the onii.

Disgraced by the loss of his entire company, Suzo disappeared without a trace. Hidden among the people he had sworn to protect Suzo learned of the many atrocities committed by the onii and their followers. Determined to end the tyranny of the onii and to restore peace and prosperity to the land Suzo gathered the finest samurai he could find to help him in his quest.

With our powers combined, nothing can stop us.

So begins...

Takaya Kaguya

Image
The first thing that entered his mind, was that he was hungry, so naturally he had stopped by a shop for a quick sip of tea and food. He had wandered away from Takeshi a while back, deciding they would meet up later. After all, it had been two weeks since they left for Kyoto together...and honestly, he was to tired to deal with the man's blood-thirsty actions. On their way back, they had run into some bandits. Takaya wanted to negotiate with them, but his partner had other plans. He had just cut them down quickly. Then they continued on.

As he sat and waited for his order, a drunkard had wandered into the shop, much to his disgust. He wrinkled his nose slightly, and silently hoped the man would just leave or pass out. He was wrong though, like always. The man released a sigh and stood up and walked toward the drunkard who was currently hitting on the poor waitress.

The next thing that happened, the tatami door flew down and the one who knocked it over? The drunkard's body. The man stood up, wiping his mouth a flush still evident on his face as he looked up at Takaya. He walked out calmly, back into the Edo heat. Despite what most people thought, he was quite comfortable in his attire, despite it looking to hot for the day. The man spoke, a slur evident in his voice.

"Hey youz...W-why the hell didja' do dat for?!"

The shichitou member remained quiet, his blue eyes narrowing towards the man. He didn't respond, choosing not to waste his breath on people like him. With a sigh, he placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. It was just an intimidation act, since he wouldn't draw it for no reason. Using his other hand, it slid partly the katana, it's silver blade reflecting the light of the harsh sun toward the man.

The man paled, easily shown on his flush face. Quickly, he got p, before stammering a slurred apology and ran off the other direction. Takaya watched for a few moments, before turning back into the shop and returning to his seat. The owner thanked him, and he nodded in return before sipping his tea calmly. He was still hungry after all, and started to eat the mitarashi dangos that waited for him at the table.

ImageThe sun was shining and today seemed like it would be a good day. Perhaps it was a little muggy, but that wouldn’t ruin Suzo’s good mood. But then something struck him, today the rest of the Shichitou would be coming back. Suzo sighed at the realization that the two weeks of peace and quiet would be over by sundown. Suzo readjusted the large basket on his back and made his way to the market.

By noon the once empty basket was full with a medley of vegetables, rice, and various meats. Suzo checked the weight of the once plump coin purse and approached one of the local merchants. “I’ll have three bottles of your finest sake.” Then Suzo realized how meagre three bottles was for his group especially with Yuji and Sakurai around. “On second thought, I’ll take seven.” The merchant gave Suzo a strange look and produced the seven bottles. “Big party tonight?” Suzo chuckled at the thought. “Something like that.” Suzo quickly counted out the payment and handed it to the merchant.

Suzo was delighted to find out that he had enough leftover to buy himself a nice cup of tea. As Suzo walked down the street towards to the local teahouse two men ran past him screaming about a demonic girl and terrifying metal man. "Sounds like Takeshi is back." Suzo entered the teahouse and found Takeshi siting patiently at his table and Takaya sitting at a very broken table staring into the eyes of a small girl. Suzo walked over to Takaya and stared at the odd sight. Suzo tapped the small girl on the shoulder "Excuse me mam I'm going to need to borrow my friend for few minutes, you can engage in eye combat with him after I'm done." Suzo turned Takaya, "Come, let's join Takeshi at his, non-broken table and get you a new cup of tea, I want to know how your mission went."

Rin merely watched in wary apprehension as katana-weilding man swiftly dumped the last bit of his tea, each drop soiled with wood chips and paint peels, onto the pervert's head. And judging by the way he screamed, it apparently wasn't very pleasant. Just as the half-oni was about to open her mouth to question his actions, only slightly confused by his sudden behavior, the man's blue eyes connected hers evenly. Locked into combat over unwavering concentration, Rin couldn't help but allow for her royal purple orbs to narrow in distaste. Who is he? pondered her thoughts as their contact was broken.

"I believe you may owe the people and apology for this destruction." rang out his simple words, the tone holding an ever-so-slight suggestion. Quirking a delicate eyebrow at his response, Rin merely replied with that same hushed tone. "Why?" Tilting her head to the side, that eggplant waterfall rustling with the movement, the Ronin observed the man with a gleaming curiosity. However, that focused gleam was broken when another man piqued up, his voice holding a certain gruffness and coarseness to it. "Oh, it's you...". Not even bothering to send a cat-eyed glance over at the new voice, Rin reached up to tuck the brim of the hat down further. Its time for you to go.. lingering in a place for too long is dangerous. chided her inner voice, truth ringing out in every infliction. Exhaling yet another soft sigh, Rin was about to excuse herself when a hand tapped her shoulder. Hm.. judging by it's weight and shape, it's a man. assessed her conscious, the baritone voice confirming her suspicions. Excuse me mam I'm going to need to borrow my friend for few minutes, you can engage in eye combat with him after I'm done."

Keeping her face hidden beneath it's brim, the Ronin merely slipped a delicate hand into a side pocket of the miniskirt she wore before pulling out a wad of 2,000 yen bills. Silently dropping them on the broken table, the girl wordlessly slipped past the three men before disappearing into the streets, not even once acknowledging them further.

Takaya Kaguya

Image
Takaya watched as the girl responded, by tilting her head to the side. Her dark colored hair flowing. As he opened his mouth to respond, another man came in. Takaya let out a sighed, as he heard the man's disapointed voice. Yes, he was probably looking for another victim to kill or get rid off. Most likely he came to the tea house to search for an opponent. Really now, did he really have to be blood-crazy all the time... if so, it'll be horrible to go on another mission with him....

He blinked, as another man walked inside. The leader, though as he came in, the girl left quickly, not even saying something back. Giving a nod of greeting to the leader,he stood up and gave another nod. He paused, before then saying "The table was not my fault. That girl decided to flip a man on it." Explaining it simply, and easily as if it was an everyday thing.

He took a seat at the new table next to the metal wearing shichitou member. The waitress came and collected the money from the broken one, then came with a cup of hot tea to the three men. Hearing his request of the mission, Takaya nodded before reporting.

"Nothing to report. Just a few bandits by Kyoto that Takeshi took down,as well as a few small fries running around...." He made sure to say Takeshi's name, and not "we". After all, he didn't want to get involved with needless killing.

Takeshi Yuudai

Image
Takeshi watched idly as their leader, Suzo, entered the tea shop. He said something to the purple haired girl before she abruptly left small shop. She seemed quite odd, and coming from Takeshi that was saying alot seeing as his usual opinion of people amounted to either "to weak to bother with" or "meat bag that needs to die". Naturally his opinions concerning his comrades were quite different. He respected and admired all of them in varying degrees. Suzo, for example, he admired for his ability to lead and his combat prowess, though in a head on fight Takeshi believed he would come out victorious. The man had a terrible defense. On a side note, he enjoyed the man's cooking.

His allies joined him at his undamaged table and tea was brought. Takeshi very carefully picked up the fragile cup in his metal plated fingers and took a sip of the tea while Takaya summed up the past two weeks in exactly two sentences. He placed the tea back on the table and made his "I should say something now" face, which looked like an average person would if they were deep in thought. Then he spoke, his voice as monotone and distant as it always seemed to be when he wasn't surrounded by people that needed to die. "Attempted robbery. Justified. Buried them." He rested his chin in his left palm and stared out one of the shops windows. "Don't like bandits." This time there was audible disdain in his voice. Just thinking about them made him furious! After he'd left home with a quarter of his family's fortune, he'd been attacked by countless bandits, sometimes even in broad daylight.

His sheer anger at the thought of bandits was easily visible, his body tense like a steel spring and his lips drawn back in a snarl. He took a deep breath to calm himself, he didn't want to cause his comrades any trouble, and stood very slowly. "Will go for a walk. Watch scythe." He felt that if he brought his scythe he'd be liable to kill someone. Well, it might happen anyway, but it wasn't quite so likely. He stepped around Takaya and quietly exited the tea shop.

He started walking down the baked dirt road when he noticed something odd. The crowd was dispersing quite quickly, and not because of him. Curious, he kept walking down the street. There he saw the odd girl from before, now with another strange man grabbing her by the wrist. Then the girl deftly kicked the man in the stomach and ran off.
Well that was odd. Perhaps it would be best if refrained from involving myself? Besides, any man that lets little girls kick him in the stomach isn't worth any of my time.
Having reached a decision, Takeshi sighed and kept walking, his heavy foot steps echoing down the empty street. That was until the strange man pushed his hoari aside and revealed his weapon, commanding what crowd remained to move aside as he darted after the small girl. Takeshi stood there for a few moments, his hands shaking slightly until the balled into fists, a mad, almost evil grin slowly spreading across his face. Three... two... one! He bolted after the strange man, eyes alight with mad glee. Even in a full suit of armor, he ran faster than most men could run normally and it wasn't long before he found them again. They were in a small alleyway, the man now with his weapon drawn. Takeshi almost started laughing, but managed to refrain from doing so, though the pure joy he felt was quite evident. He slowly stepped into the alley, his heavy footsteps echoing deeply in the small space.

He slowly dragged his metal clawed fingers against the wooden wall of the alley, leaving deep gouges in the wood. He finally spoke, his voice filled with a bizarre mix of barely contained excitement and raw anger. "This will be more fun than walk. Will fight you instead."
He might've been at a slight disadvantage without his scythe, but it would only get stuck in the cramped alley. His fists would be more than enough. He slid his feet apart, left foot out in front right foot back with his feet at 45 degree angle and parallel to each other, hands slowly clenching and unclenching in anticipation.

||Suzo Hikari||

ImageSuzo blinked in confusion. "Did I just hear you try to make something major sound minor? Takaya, dead bandits are not something to be included as something not worth noting." Suzo leaned in towards Takaya, "I'm going to tell you about a little military secret. Back when I was a peace keeping officer my comrades and I had the best way to detect abnormalities and possible threats within the country." Suzo chuckled to himself and took a sip of his tea.

"It was so simple that our main indicator was one word. Bandits," Suzo paused to let the words sink in. "That's right, we use bandits to find possible threats. The simple truth behind bandits are that they're imbeciles. They're cocky, stupid, disorganized, sniveling cowards, and most of all, they are pathetically weak. Most of them are stronger than the average citizen, but they can be easily taken out by anyone or any group of people that have enough training. A sudden unexpected drop in a bandit population usually indicated some sort of abnormal activity, after all bandits don't just disappear. These abnormalities were dealt with by my comrades and I with the full force of our personal companies." Suzo noticed that Takaya was getting impatient.

"I'll get to my point. The fact is that this system is still used to this date. Not to mention that we're dealing with a very paranoid government who jumps at its own shadow." Suzo sighed deeply. "We probably won't be doing business in Kyoto for while now, after all we will be seeing an increased military presence there. I don't blame you for not being able to control Takeshi just remember to be a bit more careful next time." Suzo stood up and pushed in his chair and dropped a few coins onto the table for the tea. "I'll be heading back to the inn, just make sure you and Takeshi are there before sundown." Suzo walked out the teahouse and headed back to the inn to prepare for the feast for tonight.

Takaya Kaguya

Image
Takaya simply offered a shrug to the leader, as he chastised about him making the bandit news so minor. He had been to Kyoto before, and it still seemed like such an unruly and annoying place to be. It was always crawling with bandits, and ronins that just picked fights with everybody. As the man continued, He was slowly losing interest in this chatter, and sipped at his warm tea, satisfied that this cup did not have splinters in it.

As the leader stood up, and told him to watch Takeshi, he simply nodded in return, but sighed inwardly. He had been stuck with him for two weeks already. Did he really need to make sure the man didn't go wild again? With another sigh, he placed coins on the table, and nodded in good bye to the owner, as he picked up the other man's scythe. Now...if he was a blood crazy, battle scared, armor wearing man where would he be....

Lookslike another game of hide-and-seek was gong to be played.

"Come on!” Yuji continued to beg the man. Why would he go so far just for a bottle of sake? While most people liked sake for its ability to wash away all bad memories, Yuji really just liked the taste of it. Well, that and the bottle since some, like the one he was looking at, had a really beautiful appearance, in his opinion.

“K-Kid…” The man said slowly, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. He apparently wasn’t the type of person to believe in others as easily, or one to hand out his sake to any children, “Maybe something else would grab your interest?” The man tried to change the subject, “Perhaps this?” He held up a wooden sword, something someone actually would give to child, but definitely not a teen or adult.

Yuji grumbled and murmured, ”Old man… I have work to do also, you know…” He began to beg, harder than usual, and all just for a simple bottle of sake. Was it that important to him? Seemingly, it was.

Just before the man was going to wave him off and say his final word, Yuji heard a familiar voice behind him say, ”Problem?”

Yuji turned around to also then see a familiar face. There, was the violent and crazy Shichitou, Takeshi Yuudai. Some people seemed to fear him, but to Yuji, people were people. They had their reasons for doing things. That’s why, after seeing him he grinned and said, ”Hey, Takeshi! Surprised to see you here, kind of.” He smiled because he was seeing someone in his group of seven, but also that he was hoping he’d buy the sake for him instead.

"W-Well, err... T-this boy wishes to purchase some s-sake... But I don't think he's of age to be drinking yet..." The old man replied, still fidgeting with his fingers and pacing on his feet, seeming to have grown more nervous and uncomfortable once Takeshi interrupted the two.

”I buy.” Takeshi growled, just as he slammed his hand onto the counter. Yuji glanced at it and saw that the money was stuck deep into the wood, giving a bit of a chuckle while the old man only gulped.

Just then, Takeshi grabbed the bottle and shoved it into Yuuji’s hands which he immediately grabbed before it could fall onto the ground and break, which would be worse since he’d probably never get it again, ”Thank, buddy!” He addressed, impolitely since Yuuji was really hardly polite to anyone belonging to the Shichitou.

Yuuji, right afterwards, grabbed the bottle and inspected how dark and lovely it was. He, as odd as it sounded, liked to inspect something’s, or even someone’s beauty before doing anything of the sort. After a little while of staring at it, he gently took off the cap on it, a strong fragrance of sweet alcohol emitting from it.

If he were to be honest, he would have to say that he began to drool just from the smell of the drink. He usually would wait to drink it in a place where, if he did get drunk, he wouldn’t be able to destroy anything by accident, but he couldn’t help himself and lifted the bottle to his lips about to take a sip before-

”Suzo waiting. Meeting now.”

Yuuji was yanked by his collar, quickly scrolling on the cap onto the sake bottle before any of it could spill, ”N-Now?” He asked, pouting a little bit, though trying to hide his childish sadness since he just got his sake that he was unable to drink. With a sigh, he held it with both hands and started walking forward, rather than having Takeshi drag him the whole way to the inn, ”Yes, yes, let’s get going then. But don’t be surprised if I start drinking during our conversations, yeah?” He asked while following right behind him, whistling a little along the way.
