|| Overall Appearance||
Takaya overall, is a fairly tall man. He has long indigo colored hair that usually is kept in a ponytail and over his shoulder. His hair is long, so the front sometimes covers his left eye. His face is usually a solid mask, as a bored expression or disinterest appears mainly. It is almost impossible to read what he's thinking unless you've known him long enough to see the small actions he does. It gets worse when he glares, as his eyes are very expressive when showing anger or hate. Takaya is quite intimidating, as he lets his silence talk for him. He is well-muscled under his yukata but doesn't show it as he prefers to be fully covered. He usually wears a black yukata with a white scarf around his neck despite the heat.
Behind the Mask
|| Personality ||
When first meeting Takaya, one can describe him as cold. He tends to remain silent at all times, and usually people think he's cold. He doesn't like to talk, and usually talks only when addressed or spoken too. Though in reality, he cares deeply for his comrades but his sense of duty prevents him from showing it. Takaya is a serious, no non-sense type of guy. He doesn't like to joke around, but does make some sarcastic comments every now and again. Because of his serious nature, he tends to take jokes seriously when they aren't at all serious.
He also is very, very dense. He basically cannot understand women, and will usually just respond normally, no matter how obvious they are that they like him. He even says that he would pick a sword over a lady any any day, since swords have only one simple purpose. His love of swords drives him to know a lot about them, and that is when he actually talks a lot. Though these times are usually when someone asks him about it.
In battle,he has the ability to remain completely calm, even if he is losing the battle. Takaya is one who accepts defeat when it comes to him, as long as it does not lead to his friends dying. One of his most common trait in battle is to just keep a cool mask on, even if he gets cut up badly. Unlike most people, he doesn't fear death, since he knows that one day he'll die by the sword.

|| Biography ||
Takaya's life was very strict. When he was growing up, he was raised to be a warrior and nothing else. It made him grow respectful, and traditional person. His father and everyone before him was a great Samurai warrior and that caused him to want to continue with the sword. He grew up in a dojo that his father ran, helping out other students or running errands for his family. One day, when he was about 9 a rejected student burned down the dojo with his parents still trapped inside. he was able to only get a glimpse of the person's face, but it was now burned in his mind with only one thought:revenge.
After this, Takaya lived with his parent's friend as the son of the house, since they all had daughters only. He still grew up training with the sword since he never wanted to give it up even after his parents died. He felt the need to continue his training since he would be the head of the house now that his father was dead. When he was 12, he challenged his first opponent that was from another dojo and beat him easily. Takaya had started to get more and more popular since more challenges came to him and he excepted all of them, always winning. Through this, he began to learn different sword styles.
One day he got a letter that said a challenge to the death match. He was 15 at the time and decided to accept it. The man who had challenged him was the man who had burned down his parents dojo, and thus killing them in a burning house. Enraged when he recognized the man's face immediatly, he drew out his real sword instead of the and started to fight him mercilessly. Looking back at this, he realized it was more of a street brawl. The battle took hours to complete, but Takaya won at the end and cut up his opponent's body and threw them in a river. He has a scar going from his right shoulder to the bottom of his stomach from this fight.
After that battle, he had learned that the man was related to an important, high-ranking, person that worked for the Onii. Fearing that he might drag his current family he left them so they wouldn't be hurt. He just turned 17 when he left the house that he had been living in. Takaya was recruited into the Shichitou when they saw him fight against a swordsman who was trashing a shop and demanding free food, and was drunk. Takaya decided to travel with them since he didn't know what else to do, and soon became one of the samurais devoted to stopping Japan from crumbling.
