I never used to be afraid of anything...

Description

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Appearance: Leon stands approximately 6'0" and has an average build to suit his height. He has short brown hair he keeps messy as Leon isn't too concerned with what he looks like most of the time... He takes the attitude that his appearance isn't what's important. That being said though, he isn't a slob, and does dress neatly. He has light blue eyes and a charming smile that matches them. He wears a dark maroon shirt and black jeans with light brown boots, and the only usual change in his appearance are the colours of his shirts. Leon has a scar on his right cheek that is about an inch long, and is very wary of how it looks, to his family they call it his trophy, referring to the horrible crash he was in two years earlier.

Secret: When Leon was 20, he was travelling across Europe backpacking. He had decided college wasn't his fortΓ© and chose to take a more worldweary approach to life. He was in france when the crash happened. Emily, a girl he'd met while travelling, was accompanying him around France, the two had begun a long-term friendship and had decided to follow one another across the continent. Leon was in the passenger seat when it happened... He and Emily were driving down the coast towards Cannes. Leon had been sleeping as they two had been out the night before... He was woken with a sudden jolt as Emily lost control of the car. A large transport truck had been turning the corner of the cliffside they were and had cut them off. Emily veered the car to the left, but couldn't control the brakes and they burst through the road barrier and hurtled to the water about 50 feet below. They hit the water with a loud smash and the cars front windshield smashed and water began to pour inwards. Leon managed to unclip his seatbelt, but Emily's had become stuck. The car was sinking fast, and Leon was able to swim to the surface safely. The last words Leon recalls Emily saying, were her begging him for help. Leon knew he probably had time to save her, but panicked and fled the car leaving Emily to float to the sea floor and drown. Leon reached the surface of the water and was rescued... Since then he has lived with the guilt that he left Emily to drown.

Personality: Leon is usually an outgoing and party style person. He is quick to have his say, but isn't an intentionally nasty person, even it comes across that way. He is intensely loyal, and has always, except for one instance, taken responsibility for every action he has done, whether good or bad.

Other: Leon has night terrors.

History

Leon was born on the 31st of March 1990. He was a charismatic kid, always outgoing and never shy to face a challenge or meet new people. Leon grew up in a moderately wealthy family, with two sisters and his mum and dad. He always fared well in school, progressing well in all his subjects but excelling particularly well in his more literature based classes. For Leon growing up with two sisters meant he was always more inclined to be passive rather than outwardly physically aggressive if he ever got into a fight. His mother and father also instilled three strong values in their children - To be Responsible for their actions, no matter the consequences, Commit to everything they do, and stay Loyal to those who share their trust in you.

When he finished high school Leon chose to travel the world instead of head to college. In doing so he somewhat deliberately lost contact with everyone he knew... He did this in order to "find" himself because he had always been a part of crowd of people and always meshing his personality with those he met around him, he was, as he mother always put it, easy to get along with, but never the same person with everyone. This had always irked him because, while Leon was his own person, he couldn't deny he had a way of appearing to peoples best interests and never fully committing to his own.

While travelling Leon was in a car crash with a friend he had made while travelling... During the car crash he obtained a small scar on his face which haunts him every time he looks into the mirror.

So begins...

Leon had music playing quietly for background noise as he made his trip to this manor he'd been invited to. He was initially hesitant to go, he had after all sort of cut everyone out of his life a few years back. Even though he regretted it deeply now, he wasn't sure how they'd feel about seeing him again. Leon took a deep breath and sighed. He was so lost in his own thoughts he nearly missed the turn off and had to quickly swerve his car to make it onto the long driveway.

As the manor neared, Leon couldn't believe how big it was. Huge, old and beautifully eerie, "You've done it again Cay" he said to himself with a half smile. As the car pulled up, Leon's hands gritted tighter to the steering wheel, nerves getting to him. He pulled up next to one of the others cars "few here already" he mumbled to himself. As he exited his car he grabbed a sports bag from the back and slung it over his shoulder. Leon was never one for heavy packing.

As he hitched the bag he reminisced about all the horror stories the gang used to tell each other around halloween. He smiled fondly, stories about dead woman getting revenge on their lovers... old haunted mansion where ghosts stalked the residents... bloody mary... Leon laughed a little bit and shook his head, this place was oddly reminiscent of the house he'd always picture when someone would say "it happened in an old mansion". He stared around the grounds and took in the sights around him and Leon wondered how Cay had found it...

He soon turned to face the manor and moved forwards to the front door stopping on the last step. He knocked hesitantly, not sure if he could barge into this house like he used to do to the others when they were younger. A lot had changed since then. Then Leon breathed deeply once more and decided that if he wanted things to be normal between him and the others again he'd have start acting like they were... He'd been doing it since the crash and he could do now couldn't he?

He opened the door and saw some of the group in front of him "Honey, I'm home" he said with a grin.

Tess looked over at Cailin and smiled weakly when she heard her, tucking one side of her hair behind her ears. Fun-size. Now that was something she liked to hear.
Pity you don't have the innocence to go with it...
She blinked as she heard the small voice inside her head. It was quiet, so much it was barely recognisable, but she would know that voice anymore. Had she taken her meds this morning? Had she forgotten? What about yesterday? Did she remember then? The thoughts shot through her mind, millions of little questions flying around in here and almost masking the rest of what that low, taunting voice said.
When Bryce walked through the door, her eyes immediately widened slightly, and she took a moment or two to just take him in, furiously blinking. And, after that, immediately dashed towards the door and hugged him tightly, nearly knocking him off his feet.
"OHMYGODBRYCEEEEEE!" She squealed, that bright smile quickly returning as she eventually let go of him and stepped back. "What happened to you? I mean, first Cay, then Lissa, Colton and now you...how come you all look so much older and more mature and I still look like a kid?" She pouted slightly.
When she heard another knock, she immediately looked over towards the door, and then made another loud squeaking sound when she saw Leon standing at the door. Quickly moving over to him in turn and giving him a quick welcome hug, she smiled around at the friends of hers who were already here. Not many things phased Tess, but...seeing them all here, looking happy and having all of them still make time for her was enough for her to be happy.

Lissa stood back and watched the two latest of her old friends arrive quietly, smiling as she saw everyone greet them. Then, when Tess had finally finished bounching around and attacking Bryce and Leon with hugs, she stepped forward and held her arms out, looking between the two.
"Hey, where's my love? Now I know I'm different and, like, twice as gorgeous - if that was at all possible - but no need to feel intimidated..." She said jokingly, flashing a sweet smile to the two boys and flicking her fingers to her palms a few times.
Her actions and her words shocked her. Not even an hour in her old friends' company and already sudden bursts of her old self had started to shine through.

'Honey, I'm home.' Hey! Somebody had stolen her line! Cay turned on her heel, a grin growing steadily on her face. Leon. Oh, he was a nuisance. In the best possible way. "That's my line, loser, take it back." She stuck her tongue out, waiting for a moment as Tess hugged him. Cailin rolled her eyes with a playful smile when Lissa stood between the two boys--they weren't boys anymore. Were they men? Inbetween? Her eyebrows scrunched together as she eyed Bryce and Leon for a moment, then shrugged her shoulders. Maybe a little bit of both. Everyone was happy, and everyone seemed relatively healthy. This was good enough for Cay. In fact, them being there was just awesome in itself. She made her way over and hugged Leon for a moment. "Seriously, stop stealing my words. I'll lose my charm, and then what will I be? The token ginger?" Cay grinned cheekily at him, squeezing him, then letting go and stretching her arms up towards the ceiling, pacing in a bit of a circle around her friends.

Clearly, they were still waiting on a few people, but for the most part, the gang was here. She smiled widely, drifting back towards her perch on the base of the steps. "We're just waiting on a few stragglers. But we're mostly all here. Yay! Everyone survived the trip!" Cay grinned and clapped her hands together, hiding a small twinge at her unintentional choice of words. She wasn't completely at peace with her decision. Part of her was glad nobody had questioned her being alone. Her friends were generally the type not to question her too much. Even the police in her new hometown had labeled it off as him leaving her for another woman and closed the case.

"So yeah. This place is huge. But a few of the bedrooms share bathrooms. Every two bedrooms has a bathroom that connects them. But the bathrooms here are bigger than my entire bedroom at home. Huge!" She was rambling, a bright red flush coming to her cheeks. Excitement and nerves had caught up to her. It wasn't really Cay to get nervous, but more antsy and overstimulated. She was the type to get too excited and let it go to her head a little bit. Getting everything settled and everyone in one room would help. So far, they were doing well.

Leon flashed a bright toothy smile when Tess and Lissa rushed up and said their hellos. He hugged Tess back and rolled his eyes when Lissa made her remark. "Still the same old Lissa" he snorted cheekily, "But you're only about one and half times more gorgeous... but its ok, you can't look like me anyway.." he smiled at her and moved forward when Cay ran up and hugged him. Leon hugged back and flashed another smile when she scolded him for taking her one-liners, "Oh come on Cay!" he whined jokingly, "You know I only do it because I make them sound good" he chuckled again, "But I'll try by best not to.. after all, you wouldn't want being a red head your only memorable feature" he joked.

Cay then began explaining the general layout of the house, and Leon nodded quietly as he listened. As Cay spoke, Leon turned to Bryce, "Hey Buddy!! How are you?" he put an arm around Bryce's shoulder, "You haven't changed much" he grinned. Just then Cay stopped talking and Leon saw he face flush red, he walked over to her and slung his arm over her shoulder this time, "You need a drink" he smiled, "Or maybe to give us a tour shortly... You look like you keep talking" he teased with another smile.

Then Leon turned to Colton, "I didn't you see there!" he said excitedly, "Where have you been all my life? How are you?!" he joked, "Have we got some catching up to do guys and gals or what?"

Cay shook her head, nearly jumping out of her skin when an arm was curled around her. She blinked a few times, then laughed and swung to wrap her arms around Leon. "Oh, I need a drink really bad. Good thing I thought ahead and packed all sorts of bad habits for the next few weeks." She responded, grateful for the reality check. And a tour. Oh yeah. Them getting lost in the manor wasn't exactly the top of her 'want' list. She eased away from Leon now, reaching and pulling her hair out of its ever trusty ribbon. It tumbled now past her shoulders, something that she usually didn't care for. It always got in her way. She was always moving, always jumping around, getting into fights. But there was no need for fights here. There was nothing to stress out about. There was nobody that could hurt her or her friends here. Cay smiled, reaching with an idle hand to twist a few strands of hair around her finger.

"Yeah, I don't want you idiots getting lost. There's not a lot of cell service around here, so I don't wanna spend the next few weeks hunting you fools down because somebody took a wrong turn going to the bathroom and ended up in the dungeo--I mean basement." She winked playfully. It really was just a basement, but it was completely off limits as far as the caretaker had told her. That didn't curb her curiousity, but for the time being, she would leave it alone. "Don't go down there, by the way. Lots of things that can be tripped on that could kill you. And it's just plain gross down there." Cay scrunched up her face.

Trying to keep their group out of trouble, though? Not exactly the easiest feat. Cailin could barely keep herself out of trouble. She shook the thought off, offering a cheeky smile. It was going to be a good time. A good thing. Not something for her to mope and moan and linger on the past. It was better to move on, and be happy that they were all still as thick as thieves, if not closer.

Music blasted through the air as Amos cruised down the road in his black '62 Cadillac Eldorado. It was hard rock, with a pounding beat and heavy guitars, the sort of music that nobody would ever believe Amos actually listened to. Most of the songs appeared to have some rather strong gothic influences, considering the lyrics - or, to be more precise, a translation of the lyrics, since they were in German - were incredibly depressing. Most people never believed Amos when he claimed to listen to such music, but, Amos didn't really care if people believed him or not. He liked the music, and that was more than enough for him.

As he drove through the large metal gates of the manor, he slowly nodded in approval. "Nice," he murmured under his breath, looking at the towering building. "So Cailin managed to find something decent after all." He pulled up in the driveway in front of the house, parking his car close to the door. Since he had owned the Eldorado since his sixteenth birthday, Amos had gotten incredibly good at parking it even though the car was practically long enough to span the width of the continent. The Eldorado was currently parked perfectly, something that took quite a bit of skill.

Amos got out of the car, making sure that the door was locked before he strolled up to the door of the mansion. Despite knowing that he was rather late, Amos was in no hurry. He never was. Amos liked to arrive at places when he wanted to, which mean that he was often incredibly late. He didn't care.

"Hello, anyone home?!" He called upon strutting into the large house, looking around. Upon seeing the group of people standing in the entrance hall, he walked over to them. "Hey guys," he said, sounding surprisingly nice. Of course, these people were his friends, and they were the ones who only ever saw his good side, so it made sense that he was currently acting like a fairly decent human being.

Another arrival. Another distraction. Cay smiled brightly, clapping her hands together when she caught sight of Amos. "Took you long enough!" She teased, playfully placing her hands on her hips. Part of her had urged to go and leap on him, but previous experience, though it had been years, had taught her to stay put. Their dear friend had always been a little touchy about others getting in his space. Particularly, hugs. The thought dimmed her bright grin, but it did nothing to affect her excitement to have all the people she held dear in one spot. Nothing could take that from her. Even the creepiness of the manor she had picked. It was beautiful, but the remote location gave it a bad video game feel. She shrugged off the thought, opening her arms with a mock grandeur like she was a politician opening some great building.

"Welcome to the Teriah Manor, kids, I will be your tour guide, your friend, and your drinking buddy for this trip! However, I am not the maid. Any messes you morons make are your own problems. We're all adults here." Cay stuck out her tongue, motioning for her growing group of friends to follow her. There was only one of their friends left yet to arrive, so she figured it was a good time to get them out of the foyer and show them around the giant building. "You can follow me, or you can get lost trying to find the bathroom tonight. Your choice." Cailin turned on her heel, making motions with her hands for them to follow. Whether any of them actually followed was really their choice.

"If you're gonna ignore me, bedrooms are upstairs!" Cay yanked the small paper with the floor plan on it out of her pocket. The one thing the caretaker had given her as far as instructions. She peered at it, then started towards the kitchen. "Big kitchen, terrible pipes." She stated, standing at the doorway for a moment, examining it. It was nicely sized, though the decor was sort of outdated, and the gas stove needed a serious upgrade. "So don't mind if you hear this noise in the night..." Cay wandered towards the sink, turning the water on and off, a loud, groaning noise echoing through the house. "See? Evil, angry pipes."

Whether she was talking to herself at this point was irrelevant. She made a point out of sweeping through the other rooms. If you faced the stairs in the foyer, the kitchen and dining room where on the left. The dining room was connected to the kitchen, with a doorway that led to the basement just a few feet down the hall. On the right was the study, the gathering room that had a huge fireplace, and one of the main bathrooms. It had a shower, thankfully updated, and was big enough that someone (if they wanted to) could fit an entire living room set comfortable inside. It, like the other bathrooms, had a full vanity and room for multiple people (why?) to move around in. Good enough.

Cay eventually ended the short tour, distracted by her own things as they were still scattered at the base of the stairs.

"Alright guys, let's pick rooms! Don't complain if the person your bedroom shares the bathroom with uses all the hot water. We're adults now, we're not in camp." She stuck out her tongue, moving to pick up her things and start up the large staircase.

Leon listened to Cay talk, but only half-heartedly... He was in awe of this mansion. He couldn't help but feel so familiar with it, it was really something. He took note of the important stuff though, where the gathering room and kitchen and all that stuff was, and scoffed when Cay said they were to stay out of the basement.

"Good luck with keeping anyone out of there now" he teased, "Y'know once you say no to me I have to go and do it" he said flashing his teeth in a childish grin. Leon turned around and admired all the decorative detail that edged the cornices of the foyer. "Cay, how old is this place?" he asked curiously, "I can't help but feel like i've seen it before".

Leon turned to the stairs then and walked a few up, "So the room are up here?" he asked another question before Cay could answer... He always had a habit of doing that, asking questions then asking more before he got the answer. He walked a few more steps up and a cold draft chilled him, "Brrrr" he rubbed his hands together, "You need to fix the heating in here" he joked, "Or I could?" he teased "The boiler in the basement?" he asked with another smirk... "Don't worry" he sighed right after, "I promise ill stay out of there Cay...maybe".

Leon looked at everyone else and then smiled, "I get first pick!" he shouted like a little kid.

Bryce was pleased to see that the others had recognized him and laughed when he was attacked with hugs. "Yeah, i know! Crazy, right?" he chuckled. "I got tall! And skinny!" He was more than happy to share to the others, even if they didn't care - Because damn! He had lost quite a few pounds and it was great! Life being tall and twiggy was awesome! As others began to enter, he let himself look around the manor. Wow, quite the place!

He turned in a full circle, letting out a low whistle. The place looked... Well, old. Not in a bad way or anything! But it certainly was getting up there in the years. It was kind of nice really, since he was usually surrounded by everything modern; Modern houses, modern technology, modern- Just everything. It was like being thrown back into the past. As Leon asked how old the place was, he listened, curious as well. He'd need something to distract himself with if he didn't have any computer or cellphone reception - History would be good enough. Or wandering around, that was always nice too.

"You guys got an attic room?" he asked as he walked up the stairs after them with his bags, struggling to lift the heavy cases all the way up the stairs. One of them was simply filled with clothes and such, but the other was filled with various wires and circuit boards - Simply to keep up with his hobby while he was here. Besides, even if he was somewhere with barely enough electricity to run a blender, he still had batteries with him. "The attic room would be great,"
