♠Description
Masculinity speaking, Hira is a rather unimpressive specimen with his slim frame and rather average height. If anything his most distinctive feature is his long purple hair that he wears in a ponytail to his waist. He usually keeps bangs looped to frame his face but is also known to use his spirit energy to knock them out of place to instead cover his face when he's uncomfortable. He never wears shoes and given his lack or blatant training time has suspiciously calloused hands.
♠Preferred Clothing
Hira loves the color purple and is rarely seen without it either as an embroidered seem or as the color of the belt sash of his usual uniform. In addition he wears something of a samurai or priestly vest atop to give his shoulders an illusion of being broader.

♠Personality
When not on medical duties, Hira is the definition of someone who appears to take nothing seriously. He's got a book under his arm and a drink in his hand - often with the latter already being brought to his mouth and the former sometimes isn't even oriented properly. His facial expression always has a tiny hint of an amused smirk even while running and screaming from a dog. His lack of recognition of personal space often puts him right up in people's face but his words are spoken softly - almost like he's in a library or talking to a child and entirely unchallenging. During combat practice, he's known to zone out to look at the scenary even while he's actually one of the people supposed to be sparring. Hira has no filter so what's in his head comes out his mouth - and it's surprisingly never rude even when it's out of place. When dealing with a patient, it's the only time he's known to actually keep a secret due to his sense of "keeping the patients privacy" but is otherwise something of a gossip. He's also well known for missing the obvious - rather frequently and will always sit down to try to figure something out if something doesn't turn out how he thinks it should. This has an infamous example of his stripping to "prevent his charge from being self conscious" during a physical examination. Most importantly, Hira is a staunch believer in keeping the peace -and openly frowns at violence when it happens. All-in-all Hira is a man with his own moral code and follows it strictly.
However, Hira is also in possession of a reputation for being nasty when provoked. The most surefire method is attacking his patients- it's then that the normally soft spoken man becomes loud, rude and completely out to used force. He's also more than willing to use his medical knowledge to his advantage - often using strong palm strikes, fingers, knees - any appendage he has to strike where it hurts most. Afterwards, he has a nasty tendency to leave his "victim" in the most publicly humiliating state he can arrange on short notice without providing medical attention.

♠Personal History
Hira's first memory in Soul Society is awakening to someone screaming the very phrase from which he adopted his name "Iehira". It accompanied the burning of a temple in the 64th Northern District and the youth's rather effeminate appearance bought his life - at the expense of dragging him out beyond civilization in the outer districts. His time in the districts wasn't overly busy - acting mostly as bait and otherwise medic for his captivators until the gang managed to dabble in arts so dark that the Shinigami were forced to act. During the fray, Hira was able to escape and followed the unsuspecting saviors back towards civilization. A local shrine took Hira in and while his ease towards blood and space violations were not cured...the peace loving group formed the backbone of his current moral code. In a rather naive attempt of idealism - Hira stepped up during a recruitment for Shinigami and tested positive for potential and joined the Spirit Academy.
Despite finally being given a blade in the Academy, Hira never felt any comfort in it - he'd never held one before and his combat experience was purely just his own body. As such he spent much time working on forms, and got to the point where he could pose well with the blade but his swordsmanship was barely able to get him a pass. On the other hand, he excelled in Hakuda since it was essentially his entire five years out in the wilds -but his new morals couldn't adapt to the ease he'd break limbs and otherwise seek to take lives with his hands. This came to a head when they fist learned Kido - in binding and medicine he proved highly proficient. However the first day of Hado Kido - a loud crack occurred from his head while he cast... and from there his character changed. During Hakuda, he'd simply wear his foe down while dodging and throwing them to the side. During normal Kido, things wouldn't change. However during Hado, an empty look occupies his eyes and during a fight where he started healing a bullied student - as the bully pursued the matter Hira snapped. Cursing and yelling, Hira broke the attacker's leg, ribs, jaw and back before binding them to the wall above the Hado range and using them as "target practice" before instructors came around and bound Hira. Hira then immediately lost consciousness before awaking normally the next day - but every time Hira gets set off the transition got easier.
♠ Zanpakuto
Mamoru||Katana Mamoru takes the shape of an overly long Katana - reaching up to Hira's chest when sheathed; when drawn one also sees that the blade is oriented the wrong way as it's a "reverse blade".
♠Shikai
Ikiru
Mamoru||Buddhist Staff Sword becomes a full twelve ringed Buddhist Staff from which the rings detach - staff must be held for control of rings. Rings must be used in pairs.
Abilities: Karmic Blessing - rings attached to a target absorb Spirit Energy in the area to heal the wearer passively. Alternatively wearer can "break" the rings to negate 1 attack. Broken rings return to staff and remain inert for a time.
Karmic Punishment- Rings attached to target continuously grow heavier by absorbing spirit energy- explosively so if target attacks since it absorbs a portion of the energy used in the attack. Alternatively the rings can be detonated by controller (of the staff) for damage based on weight accumulated.
