He chuckled under his breath when Liz mentioned that Bliss was cliche, as if she had known he said almost the same words an hour earlier. He liked the sound of secret passages, he loved to explore and to know that he was actually allowed to do it, was even better. He could be a little bit of a trouble maker sometimes. When he was in school, one of the reasons he was popular was because he was the bad (bi) boy. He wasn't afraid of much and he wasn't too good at following the rules. He had grown up quite a bit since then, but the bad boy persona still lingered in him.

Sam was paired up with a girl named Alex. He found her quickly, she was a cute little brunette. Not bad... He thought to himself. He often ended up with girls rather than guys, although he did enjoy one every so often. Girls were easier to find and more open to his sexuality. He introduced himself to Alex, "Hey, I'm Samuel, but you can call me Sam if you'd like" He stuck out his hand to shake hers.

He wasn't sure how this was all going to work out, but he hoped he wouldn't regret coming. If it turned out to be a disaster, Josh and Rhonda would be the ones to blame. Lonely Old Guy my ass...

"That sounds great to me" He smiled. "What kind of things do you draw?" He liked to take pictures of people the most, and then animals and nature. He had been playing violin ever since they made you pic a string or band instrument in elementary school. It was the closest to the guitar so he picked it, and now he plays both.
He can even sing a little. Maybe he and Alex could do a song together to kill some time here.

"Do you know what we are supposed to do with our time here? I feel like we are in an overly fancy college dorm" He chuckled, and all there was to study was the people around them. He probably had the best options out of everyone since he was bi.. Sometimes it came in handy.

He came to realize he loved it when she smiled. He also came to realize that she had baggage, and he could handle that.
"It's okay, memories can be one of the scariest things" he said it like he knew exactly what she was talking about.

"Yes, lets go to dinner." He grabbed their stuff from beside the pool, slipping on his pants and shirts which immediately got soaked through since he was wet. He carried his shoes by his side.
"To the dinning hall!" He called and marched ahead with her. "I've been looking forward to this moment." He laughed. As they reached the dining hall, he noticed they were the first ones there. "Yes, we get to pick our seats, i hope they have bread for while we wait!"

"Oooo yay bread!" He smiled and grabbed a piece. "Thank you!" He told the lady as he buttered the bread.

He handed the first piece to her, trying to be polite. "Here you are my dear" His hand touched hers when he handed her the bread and it felt like electricity went up his arm. He glanced at her and blushed slighting, proceeding to butter his own piece.
"i hope everyone gets here soon so we can start eating. " He didn't know how much he would mingle with the others. He had been paired up so well with Alex. He really liked her so far, they had so much in common and she was so real and humble.

"What's your favorite food?" He asked.

Jordan walked around the kitchen, it is.. nice? She figured it was close enough to dinner time so she went to the dining room. There she saw two, a male and female, that appeared like wet dogs. "Hey... guys..." She said awkwardly. She had never been one to talk. But yelling? That was more her style. She half smiled, feeling well over dressed, now that there were people here. She saw the basket of bread and went to the seat next to the male. She took a bite of the bread, "Oh my gosh! Delicious!" She then looked over at the two who seemed to be quite into each other. She felt awkward and uncomfortable and started twitching in her chair. "Um... So when's dinner?" She asked keeping her eyes glued to her lap.

Alex laughed as she watched his face light up like a boy on christmas day, so she made a mental note that he loved food. She took the buttered piece of bread from him and nodded in thanks. She realize he was blushing and she smiled softly at him.

Before she could think about eating like a lady she took a large bite and made a strange moaning sound. "IT'S STILL WARM" she said, then she realized how ridiculous she must look. "Uhm" she said, trying to recover from embarrassing herself "yeah me too. Apparently I needed some warm food" she laughed. For the first time she didn't feel like what she was saying was wrong or stupid, and she felt like he cared about what she had to say. 'Maybe my friends were right. Maybe the stay here WILL do me good" she thought.

"Steak is most definitely my favorite steak. Cooked to a perfect medium. Not too hard, not too soft, and tender enough that it's still pink when it's cut open." her mouth watered as she spoke because she remembered one of the female staff told her that there would be steak. Then she heard a female voice behind her. It was the redheaded girl from the welcoming. "Hey" Alex smiled. She laughed as the girl took bite of bread and savored the flavor. "That was basically how I reacted too, and dinner is supposed to start anytime now." Alex said plainly. "I've got to say though, you look absolutely stunning." Alex was surprised that her thoughts had actually come out of her mouth, but the look on the girl's face told her that she was trying her hardest to cover up some pain.

Jordan slightly blushed. She had never been complimented before. Ever really. "Thank you" She replied. Maybe this is why girls always got so dressed up? She wondered. She smiled over at the two of them when the doors burst open. she closed her eyes and breathed in the scent of food. "I think I found my true love... Food!" She laughed as all the plates of food were brought in. She saw steak, pork, pasta and salad. Way to ruin a meal by putting salad on the table.. She used her fork and grabbed some chicken, pasta and a lil' bit of everything. She breathed in once more before taking a bite of the pork. "This is sooo good..." She said, with her mouth still slightly full. She didn't want to be a pig but she would have eaten all of it. You know those skinny girls who can eat 6 cakes and not gain a pound? Well that's Jordan. She finished what was on her plate and though about seconds. But instead she was feeling quite full and energetic.

She walked out of the dining room and found the hostess. "Is there a gym here?" She asked. As the woman brought her to the gym she smiled. "Thanks.." She went in and realized she was still in her skirt. Sighing she started to walk back up to her room. She walked by the patio and saw Sebastien and another girl. She hadn't really cared for anyone's names, except Alex, Dani and Sebastien. She moved the piece of hair from her face and kept walking. She got to her room and changed back into her lazy outfit. Wow... No one really got to see my beautiful outfit.. She though as she rushed back to the gym. With all her frustration she turned on the treadmill and ran.

Sam agreed to all the comments about food. "oo there's a gym, just what I'm going to need this week after eating all this food" He chuckled and was almost done with his meal when Alex's phone rang. She excused herself and left to take the call. There really wasn't that many people at the table anymore, they must have still been touring the house. They still had about an hour until the meeting started.
He heard Alex raise her voice from the other room and a small crash. He immediately got up to check on her. When he got there he saw her retreating to her room. He went to one of the staff members. "Hi, can you direct me to Alex's room please?" The staff showed him the way, climbing the gorgeous stairs and down a hallway.
"Thank you, that will be all" He smiled and knocked on the door lightly. "Alex, it's Sam" He didn't hear anything right away. "Are you alright? I knew something was wrong when you didn't come back to finish your steak" He tried to add a little humor, but it wasn't really working, or so he thought. He felt really bad. He would wait there all night if he had to for her to open up. "Please open up" He was just short of begging her.

"Alex... You can shower later, i want to talk to you" He had his hand on the door, like he was desperate to get in. "Please?"
He could tell she wasn't okay, something had happened on the phone. Even though he had only known her for a few hours, it felt like longer than that, and if anything he felt they were at least friends. He wanted her to feel safe and comfortable with him, and this was the perfect chance to show her how reliable and comforting he could really be.

He had always been good with people, especially girls. When he was younger all his girl friends would come to him with their problems and he could console them and attempt to make all the issues disappear. He was pretty good at it. It helped that he was decent looking and bisexual. He hadn't even told Alex that yet, but he thought maybe he should wait. Sometimes people made judgments before they got to know him and even though he didn't think she was like that, he didn't want to risk it.

Alex stood next to the door and listened carefully to the sound of his voice. She wanted so badly to let him in but she couldn't. "There's nothing to talk about. Thank you for a wonderful dinner." she said simply. "You're a gentlemen" her voice cracked at the end of the sentence and she went silent. She threw her hand over her mouth and started crying again, muffling the sound. 'I don't want him to get hurt' she thought. 'Spencer would be furious if he found out, and he'd probably go after Samuel first' the little piece of her mind that started building up a resistance to Spencer and all the memories attached to him fell away. She couldn't console herself into believing that she was fine or that she was safe. She felt like nobody was safe around her.

She went to the bathroom, splashed cold water on her face, and covered up the red splotches she had from crying. Then she opened the door. "I'm sorry. That was rude of me. Can we talk after I shower?" she asked, pretending to be fine.

She called him a gentlemen but still didnt let him in. He slid down the wall, sitting there until she opened the door. She apologized for being rude.
"Uh, yea sure we can talk after you shower. I will meet you in the garden okay? Try to make it quick cause we have that meeting at 6:30" He looked at her, still concerned and touched her hand softly. "I'll be waiting" He turned and went to his room first, to change. He found his suitcase there and opened it up, throwing on a clean pair of gray cargo shorts and white tshirt with blue writing. He washed his face off and put on some deodorant. He didn't want to smell like chlorine water.

He made his way down to the garden, and sat down on the porch swing. This place was literally so perfect. it was going to be hard to go home after being immersed in all of this. He waited patiently until she came down.

Alex nodded. "Yeah. I'll be right down" she said. When he turned to leave her room, she shut the door quickly and put her face in her hands. She knew she'd have to get ready and meet Samuel or he'd think something WAS wrong with her. She walked into the bathroom slowly and turned the water on. She tried to drown out her thoughts by humming but it was no use. She stripped down and was about to get in the shower when she heard a voice that made her heart stop.

"that was QUITE the show you just put on there." Spencer chuckled. "By the look on your face you knew I was coming. Did MEL call you Alex? Hmm? Did she cry? You're a pansy but you take a better hit than she does." Alex backed up into the counter and pulled a towel down, trying to cover herself. "Oh come on baby. No need to cover up. It's not anything I haven't SEEN before." he purred. He approached and yanked the towel out of her hands. "In fact it seems i'm right on time for the party." he said, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Who was the man at the door?" he whispered harshly in her ear.

"N..Nobody." she stuttered. "You're lying to me Alex. I an always tell when you're lying" he said, shaking his head. He grabbed her by the throat and pressed her against the wall, squeezing her windpipe. She struggled but he gathered her hands with one of his. He waited until her body was more limp from lack of oxygen "Now i'm going to let go and you're going to tell me who the man was at your door." he said slowly. She nodded and he let go. She was silent and he threw a punch, hitting her left cheek bone. "don't make this any harder than it has to be Alex" he said harshly. Alex shook her head, implying she wasn't going to tell him. "I WILL NOT SHARE YOU ALEX. WHO WERE YOU WITH?" he yelled, slapping her across the face. Alex cringed and whimpered in pain but she shook her head again. He was beyond angry at that point and threw her to the floor, pinning her wrists with his knees.

Suddenly a knock came to her door. "Ms. Kason are you alright?" This caught Spencer's attention. 'This is NOT over. I'll be back' he whispered sharply, exiting back out the balcony and down the side of the building. "Y..yeah...I'm alright...I just...slipped" she said, obviously lying. "I heard shouting. Are you sure you're alright?" the woman asked. "Yeah. I hurt myself, but it's just a bruise. No need to worry. Thank you for your concern" she called, sounding more confident and more believable. When the woman's footsteps receded, Alex crawled over to the balcony doors, shut them, and locked them. She pulled the curtains closed and crawled back into the steamy bathroom and cried as the hot water streamed down onto her head. 'Pull it together Alex. Samuel is going to be wondering where you were. It's almost 6:30. Figure out what you're going to tell him' she thought, examining her wounds. There was definitely a bruise forming from where he punched her, and bruises were forming on her wrists as well. The red mark from the slap would disappear in a few minutes. 'Figure out what you're going to tell Samuel' she thought, blacking out in the shower.

Sam was sitting on the porch when he saw a flash of someone coming down he side of the house. WTF? He peered around but didn't see anything else. "That was weird.." He mumbled. He looked at his phone, 6:20. Where was she? He hopped she wasn't one of those girls who took hour long showers and forever to get ready. She didn't seem like she was. He was starting to get antsy.

He decided to call his friend, Josh. It rang and rang and rang, until he got the voicemail. "Hi this is Josh, and Rhonda! Can't come to the phone right now, so leave ur name and number. Bye!" He groaned. "Hey man, its Sam, sooo i'm at this place you sent me to and i know i'm never going to live this down, but i already met someone. She's real sweet and we have tons in common. Don't make fun of me for this. But i just wanted to say.. thanks. " He hung up and looked around. Where were they supposed to meet for the meeting again? He hoped Alex would come down soon.

Alex awoke again as the water started going cold, but she sat for a few minutes. She loved the feeling of the cold water on her bruises. Then she realized where she was and what needed to be done and got up quickly. Too quickly. Her head spun for a moment and she leaned herself against the shower walls. 'Let's go Alex. you've endured worse' she thought. A plan started to form in her head.

She got dressed quickly and put on her usual amount of makeup. She was careful to leave the bruises uncovered. When she finished she headed down to the health care room. The nurse immediately looked concerned. "What happened?!" Alex would tell the house staff about Spencer eventually but right now she needed them to believe she was a klutz. "I tripped in the shower and landed on the shower ledge." she said, demonstrating the motion of how it 'happened'. The nurse looked a bit skeptical but nodded. "That must have been quite a fall then. Come sit down let me look at you" she said, gesturing toward the chair in front of her. She turned her wrists over gently, examining the bruises. Her eyes flashed from Alex's back to the bruising. "These go all the way around your wrist dearest. There is NO way they are from falling, so why don't you tell me what really happened." the nurse looked at her seriously, as if accusing her of something. Alex stuttered for a moment and then sighed. "I have an abusive ex. he found me..." she said simply. The nurses eyes widened. "Someone ELSE did this?" she asked, pointing to her wrists. Alex nodded. "but I don't want this getting out. Please." she was practically begging on her knees. She didn't want everyone to know, she especially didn't want Samuel to know. The nurse looked at her seriously for a moment and then nodded slowly. "There really isn't anything we can do about the bruising. It will go away within a week or two. Just give it time. In the mean time...keep all of your doors locked..." the woman said. Alex nodded quickly and before exiting the room she turned back to the nurse "And I fell right? In the shower?" she asked, nodding her head. The nurse nodded. "Yes. You slipped and fell in the shower. Go on dear."

Alex headed out of the room and down to the meeting room. She saw Samuel and took a deep breath. "Hey. Sorry I didn't meet you. I slipped in the shower and brought myself to the infirmary." she hated lying to him. It was almost physically painful for her.

He stood up suddenly when she arrived. "Oh my god!" He walked over to her and held her cheek in his hand gently. "Are you okay? The shower did this to you? " It didn't look like a wound a slip in the shower would give you. But he didn't want to doubt her right off the bat. He had seen some suspicious activity earlier, but he figured he ought to give her some time. "Well i'm glad you went to the infirmary." He looked down at her and kissed her bruised cheek. The poor girl, first getting beat up by her ex, and then falling in the shower. Wait. Her ex. Had he found her.
"Alex... I want to trust you and I want you to trust me. Was it him?" He asked simply, looking down at her with eyes full of worry.

Before she could even answer him, he was envisioning beating the crap out of this kid. How could someone hurt another like that? Especially someone like her? He didn't understand it. He didn't think he could ever hit a woman, or a child. This guy must be really psycho. Good thing his days of being bullied taught him a few things, oh and his boxing lessons.

His reaction was exactly what she expected and part of her was glad she didn't tell him the truth. "Yeah. I can be quite a klutz" she said plainly "It just leapt up and attacked me" she laughed lightly and wished they could talk about something else. "The nurse just said I'd have to wait it out, and that the bruises should be gone in 1 to 2 weeks." she smiled. When he kissed her cheek she felt that stereotypical feeling of protection that hollywood always portrays in movies. Part of her wanted to tell him everything but she knew better. This was reality, not hollywood and she had to deal with her issues like a big girl.

Then he asked her the question she was trying to avoid. He also pulled the "trust" card and she knew she'd have to answer him honestly. Instead of verbally answering she nodded her head slightly, keeping her eyes on her feet.

He almost missed her answer. He was expecting a verbal one but instead she just nodded. He didn't know what to say at first so he just pulled her to chest, holding her tightly. "Alex... He snuck in your room? I saw someone climb down the side of the house earlier, but i thought i was just seeing things. " He shook his head.

"You don't need to worry about him hurting you again. I'm here. And won't let him get anywhere near you. I promise" He cupped his face in his hand and made her look up at him. "Okay?" She looked so beautiful, even when she was bruised. He couldn't help but lean down and give her a light kiss on the lips.

He looked at his phone. It was time for the meeting. "Come on, we have a meeting to attend" He took her hand in his and led her to the meeting place. They seemed to always be the first ones there. Oh well. They took seats next to each other and waited. "Did you tell anyone else?"

Alex nodded her head slightly again when he asked her if he snuck in. 'I've heard people say they weren't going to let him hurt me anymore...' she thought. She no longer believed that anyone could keep her safe from him, but Samuel seemed so insistent that she answered "yeah". When he kissed her she felt electricity run down her spine and into her toes. It was a strange feeling.

"I told the nurse. Well...I tried to tell her I fell in the shower, but she knew better. She told me she would't tell anyone else, but I didn't believe her. As for you, PLEASE don't tell anyone. Nobody else needs to be brought into my drama." she said softly. The bruise on her face throbbed but she didn't say anything. It most definitely wasn't the worse pain she had endured. 'At least Spencer didn't break anything this time' she thought, looking at the bruises on her wrists.

Then she heard a loud voice come onto the intercom "Meeting in 5 minutes in the commons! You are not required to come, but it IS a nice time to meet and greet people."

"Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I promise" He held out his pinky to 'pinky swear' with her. "We can stick to the shower story" He reassured her. He scooted close to her when they sat down in the commons and put his arm around her protectively. How lucky was he to have a found a girl he liked on the first day? He wondered if Josh had gotten his message.

A few people were filing into the commons. One girl was looking through the book shelf and some other guy he hadn't met before.
"Hey Man, I'm Samuel. This is Alex" He held out his hand to the guy and smiled a little. He had almost totally forgotten he was bisexual since he had met Alex. It was like no one else in the world mattered.

Alex breathed a sigh of relief when he said that the secret was safe with him. "Thank you" she whispered as the other guests started filing in. He put his arm around her in an act of protection and she scooted closer. One of the men wandered in and trailing close behind was a woman she'd never seen before.

Before she could introduce herself, Samuel stepped up to the plate. She was used to being introduced, but this time it didn't offend her. She was glad she didn't have to talk.

Elizabeth Trenton

After making the announcement, Liz made her way to the commons. Before completely entering the room she saw Alex and Samuel sitting together. 'Poor girl' she thought, looking at the bruises on her body. 'How did he even get in the building?' Then she entered the room. "So glad to see there is already people here!" she said cheerfully, making sure not to sound overly happy. "It seems as though SOME of you have already paired yourself. I'm glad to see it" she said, nodding her head toward Samuel and Alexandria. She was careful not to look at Alex's bruises too closely, she didn't want to draw more attention to the girl.

A man's voice rang in her ear piece. 'The guard has been set up. We've checked the perimeter and Ms. Kason's room. Nobody on the premises besides the usual.' Liz nodded sightly at the information, glad the ear piece was private enough that nobody else in the room would be able to hear it.
