▌History ▬▬ When his kin dwindled, he remained secluded to protect his own life, but after some years humans sought him out. They were in the midst of a great war, one they realized they had no hope of winning, and as their options ran short, they turned to legends as a last resort. They knew that above all things, this giant desired power, and that is why in exchange for his guarantee to help them win this war, he would be allowed to rule over them as their new king. After battling with the idea, he reluctantly agreed. With new found vigor, they marched on their enemies with a giant in tow, and their opponents never saw it coming. With reckless abandon he laid siege to their forces, fighting day in and day out to assure his right to rule. When the dust settled, they sang songs in his honor, and swore loyalty to his dying day.

Soon after, when he actually began to rule their land, he realized that they weren't as true to their word as he had thought. He was backed by a council of wizards, and they pressured him constantly to make a decision one way or the other. They gave reason after reason why the way he wanted to do things would upset the people, and that he just didn't understand their customs, but it bothered him that he would have to adjust to their lifestyles, after all, he was their new king, they should live as he saw fit.

One morning, he made the decision to have a criminal executed, and to make an example out of him, tore the man in half in the square, announcing then and there that all shall live as he pleased, or face the same fate. Two birds with one stone, or so he thought.

That night, the council of wizards made an attempt on his life. Though not invincible, as a giant he boasted quite a resilience to both man made weapons and to some extent, magic. (Especially magic heavily impacted by the element of fire.) So, through a sort of fluke if you will, the assassination attempt failed. This threw him into a fit of rage. Ungrateful, every last one. He had marched in their name to win a war that they had no hope of winning, and reclaimed their lands for them, only to have them attempt to wash away his deeds, and go back to the way things were. This act of cowardice lead him to destroy the entire city, and every inhabitant he came across. In a mindless state of anger, neither men, women or children were spared.

The last of the resistance holed up in the Cathedral, easily the largest building in the city, the doors alone nearly matched the Giant in freakish height. Up until this point, he had wielded a Greatsword with both hands with reckless abandon. They had locked the cathedral, sealing it with many wards of protection, in hopes that it would keep the giant at bay. Hours passed, and he threw himself into the Cathedral time and time again, until finally one of the doors started to give way. It was with a last attempt he managed to rip the door clean from it's hinges and, being no simpleton, hoisted it in front of him as a makeshift shield, the barriers they had placed still in effect. With this new defense he was able to wipe out the remaining resistance, cursing their treachery and cowardice into the heavens, heaving loud bellows all through the night.

Since then, he remained in the ruins of his former city.
