There hasn’t been a day go by that Yuki doesn’t smile or laugh (as a human that is). She’s generally a very cheerful and caring girl, never losing an opportunity to make a joke or laugh, and always sending a caring smile to anyone she comes across. What she lacks in study skills and academics she makes up with her caring attitude and her fierce love of cross academy. She would soon die for the people there rather than anyone get hurt. The day class students are usually quite jealous of her and see her as lazy, considering she’s always sleeping in class and her low grades end up making her class work during school dances, but each and every one of them has some small form of respect for her. Even if they don’t realize it. The night class appreciates her servitude, but they despise the way that Kaname treats her better than any of the other Vampires. She’s quite oblivious to it all most of the time as she is many other things. What few friends Yuki has she builds a strong attachment to including Zero (her closest and childhood friend) and Sayori (who Yuki affectionately calls “Yori” and almost considers a close sister). Her indecisive nature and reticence can be attributed to her insecurity regarding her missing past. As a human, she has been seen as standing sides with vampires, but deep in her heart she feared all vampires (because of a vampire that attacked her when she was little) excluding Kaname Kuran. Due to this fear, she rarely left the Cross Academy grounds on her own. Yuki doesn't like to reveal her fears and disguises it with a smile. Zero, however, having grown up with her for four years, was always able to tell when something is bothering her, making it hard for her to hide things from him and vice versa. She puts on a fierce attitude when protecting the people she cares about or the students at the academy, however it clashes greatly with her caring and almost innocent persona. People easily read through her strong exterior and she’s often misjudged. People, especially vampires, don’t see her as a threat and this frustrates her considering her whole life has been about protecting Cross Academy. Her innocence is almost ridiculous at times and she’s quite bashful when it comes to anything remotely intimate. She blushes quite often and can often find herself stumbling over her words and her own body when flustered. Kaname has always shown her a kind of affection that was a little more than just brotherly love and it embarrass her greatly, though she does enjoy it. Sometimes even when Zero shows any kind of friend like intimacy Yuki is completely shocked or baffled. She is very much the sweet human girl she was raised as by Headmaster Cross, however that changes when she realizes her past and becomes the Pureblood she had always been. Her innocence is darkened, her smile fades, and she becomes a lot colder than the warmhearted girl she used to be. The human Yuki of course still lives inside the Pureblood Yuki, but as she will tell Zero, the vampire Yuki is slowly devouring her. Following her reawakening as a Pureblood vampire, Yuki shed the fears she once retained. When a situation demands for it, she can put in an authoritative face as expected of a Pureblood Princess. As a result, she has grown more emotionally mature and thoughtful. Yuki's overwhelming fault is the tendency to burden herself with guilt over her ignorance when she learns of other people's sufferings that they have kept secret. She’s strongly devoted to the academy and the people she loves and she would soon give her blood to Zero if there was any chance that he might need it. She cares for him a great deal.

|{Place of Origin}|

The Kuran family consisted of Rido, Haruka, Juri, Kaname, and Yuki. Yuki was hidden from the world because her parents (Haruka and Juri) feared that she would be used by the vampire council. Kaname, the "true" brother of Yuki, was taken by Rido (elder brother of Haruka and Juri), who sacrificed the newborn Kaname to resurrect the Ancestor Kaname. Rido did this so he could drink the blood of the Ancestor to gain more power, but, he fails and is knocked out by the Ancestor. Ancestor Kaname's body was incomplete, therefore he had to turn himself into a newborn baby, and in the process he erases his memories so Haruka and Juri can raise him in place of their old child. When Yuki was born, Kaname falls in love with her instantly and feels the need to protect her. Kaname and Yuki shared a tight bond as children and promised each other they would always be together. However, Rido is back and ready for a replacement. It was revealed that he was in love with Juri and wanted Yuki as a compensation. Haruka fought him, but, despite Kaname's offer to help, he fights Rido alone. Unfortunately, he dies after his brother used a Vampire Hunter's weapon against him. Yuki was five years old when Rido Kuran attacked the Kuran Family household seeking to take her away. In order to protect her, her mother, Juri sacrificed herself to seal Yuki's vampire nature and erases Yuki's memory. Yuki's first memory was that of Kaname saving her from a Level E Vampire who tried to devour her while being alone on a snowy day. She grew up as a human in the care of Kaien Cross, who adopted her. Despite no longer remembering Kaname and their past relationship, he stayed as an important figure in Yuki's life, becoming her much beloved savior whose visits she always looked forward to, eventually leading Yuki to develop romantic feelings for him.Despite having her memories sealed, Yuki experienced constant nightmares as a child, a problem which continued nightly until Zero Kiryu joined the Cross household. As a result, Yuki formed a strong bond towards him. She found comfort in helping Zero with his personal nightmares and unofficially appointed herself as his guardian, entering his room to check on him and always made sure he slept soundly and constantly worried about his well being.
Her and Zero are growing both closer yet more distant. Her feelings for him are blooming into something else...
Yuki's best friend is Sayori Wakaba whom Yuki calls "Yori-chan". Sayori is her roommate, too and Yuki thinks of her as a sort of sister.

The moon looks sad tonight.

Yuki stopped suddenly then and shook her head. She didn't know where that thought had come from. Moons couldn't be sad. They were just big ol' rocks in space, but still the thought had seeped into her mind, and what made it even more confusing was that deep in her stomach something told her that she was right.

She glanced up again at the moon but then sighed heavily.
She was going to be late for dinner if she didn't hurry.

Glancing once more around the school grounds, she made sure there were no mischievous day class students trying to sneak out to get a glance at the night class students. Thankfully tonight everyone was where they should be.

She wondered then where Zero was. He should have been out here helping her patrol the grounds, but she hadn't seen him…. Actually now that she thought back to it she hadn't seen him all day.

Worry clenched her stomach and she hoped he would be at dinner. She hoped he was ok. Lately she had been so worried about him. He'd been growing more and more distant from her and she knew it had to do with the fact that he was ashamed at the changes that were happening in his body. It was only last month that he'd fallen to the urges and took her blood from her in the stairwell. Since then he'd fed from her but in the past weeks he'd declined her more and more when she told him he needed to feed.

She knew he hated himself and fought against the hunger, but it was only hurting him more and more when he tried to fight it.
He would rather die than hurt you.
The words whispered to her and her heart ached for him.
I would give my last drop of blood to you Zero if it meant you would feel no pain.
She could never tell him that. She knew if she did he would never feed from her again… and then would fall to a Level E.

She shook in fear at the thought. She knew it was inevitable but the longer she could keep him from falling the better. She wouldn't give up on him. Even when he asked her too… even when a part somewhere deep inside her told her that she would have to let go…

NO. Zero I will never let go! I will never give up! Tonight I will make you take my blood. I will not loose you…

With that thought she hurried back to the headmasters house where she and Zero also stayed sometimes and a new determination filled her being.

"Oh Yuki! I long for the days when you and Zero would have dinner with me every night! We were like a big ol' family then, huh?"

Her headmaster's voice was high and sad, but Yuki wasn't paying attention. He always went off on these random sad rants and answering his question would only make him delve on it further.

She swished around the soup in her bowl as she stared across from her at the empty seat where Zero should have been. She had hoped to see him at dinner, but once again, he was not here. So her and her father ate alone…

"I… I'm going to bed Headma-"
"Oh Yuki call me father."
"Er… I'm going to bed father. I'll see you in the morning." She said and gave her father a hug before picking up her half eaten bowl.
"Ok." He sighed heavily and spooned more soup into his mouth. "It's just me now then huh…" he said to himself and Yuki felt a pang of guilt. If she could she'd stay up all night with her father if that meant he would feel better… even if that meant her listening to him worry about this and that.

But she wasn't up to it tonight. The determination that had filled her had left suddenly when she'd entered the kitchen earlier to find only her father was present.
She gave him one last hug and then went to clean her bowl in the separate area where they cleaned and made dinner.
She poured out the rest of her soup and let her bowl sit in the soapy suds of the empty sink. She'd already did dishes when her father was cooking and now she was free to take a shower and go to bed.

Tomorrow was Saturday so she didn't have to wake up early for school and that at least made her happy.
She padded down the end of the hallway where the headmaster's private bathroom dwelled and almost pushed open the door when she heard the shower from inside.

The determination that had so soon left her earlier suddenly flooded back into her.

"Zero?" she asked through the door and knocked lightly.

There was no response so she bang the door a little harder and called out his name so he could hear her better, but once again there was no answer.
Was he purposely ignoring her?

"No…" she answered her own question and fear suddenly clutched her heart.

"Zero! Are you alright?"

She waited but all she could hear was the sound of running water.
She cried out and twisted the handle, grateful that it wasn't locked, and shoved open the door.

The warm steam immediately hit her face and she squinted in through the heavy steam. The shower had obviously been running for quite some time.

"Zero!" she called out and hurried into the bathroom as the door closed behind her.

She saw his figure in the shower and gasped.
He was curled up on the shower floor and was completely still, his hands clutching his throat and chest, and eyes closed.

"Oh my… Zero!" she cried and hurried towards him, making sure to not slip on the damp tiles.

She flung open the shower door and grabbed ahold of him under his armpits before dragging him out of the shower.
He was heavy and she soon fell when he was finally out of the steaming water.

"Oh Zero. Zero…" she whispered and turned his face towards her as she leaned over his body.

He didn't open his eyes or make a move and she suddenly grew fearful. Could it be possible that instead of falling to a Level E he would just…
She couldn't think the word. No. He's not dead.

She took a deep breath and then reached towards the pile of discarded clothes before she found the pocket knife he kept in his pants.

She pulled it out and then with an intake of breath she flipped the blade open and dragged it across the flashy palm of her hand and watched as a line of blood formed there in a small little puddle before dripping down towards the tiles below.
Then without hesitation she leaned over Zero again and smothered her blood drenched palm over his cool lips and waited. She watched. Waiting for any sign of movement.

Tears filled her eyes when none came and she let out a gentle sob as her heart sank.

"Zero please… please come back to me… I can't… I can't lose you. I… I…" she trailed off.

It was then that she felt his body shudder next to her and she let out a gasp.

❝There is a certain degree
of madness in us all.❞

[Hozier - Arsonist's Lullaby]

((OOC: I hope this is only a one time thing, but I advise you not to Godmod another character unless you get the go-ahead from the owner. You went on to Godmod Zero, completely controlling him as if he were yours. It gives me little to post since you practically did it for me. ))

Something warm and coppery sizzled on his tongue. He swallowed reflexively. It was the only impulse that'd jerked him to full on alert mode. Gasping for air he snapped his eyes open. He was in the shower last he could recall, then at some point he'd blacked out. But what was Yuuki doing? He pushed up and the room seemed to tilt a little, he blinked away the dizziness. He wiped away the warmth from his lips. Red stained his hand. What?

Her hand hovered near his face, blood seeped from a fresh cut in the inside of the palm. Was she stupid? Zero backed away from her, this was dangerous. His hand gripped at the tie he'd left on the floor and he wound it around her palm. "Don't do that again." He also took the knife and flicked it shut. stowing it back in place. The scent of her blood was what made his head spin. He kept his distance, no matter how much he wanted to drink from her freely, he wouldn't allow it.

"Get going will you?" He gave his back to her and collected his stuff, this was getting a little awkward. She'd only stress herself out worrying over him, it wasn't necessary. In fact, he was more pissed with himself for having let his long guarded secret slip. Now that she knew, she'd want to offer her blood. As long as he could ignore it, just hold on to the safety bar and ride it out, he wouldn't rely on her. That was a price he couldn't ever repay. If he was gonna become a monster, he'd already given her the weapon to use against him. She just had to aim and pull the trigger. Something told him however unlikely that'd be despite her word. She didn't seem like she'd be able to.

But she was the only one who could.
