Zach is a cheerful guy who likes to have fun and is very friendly, although he doesn't really know how to act around people sometimes. He's always up for anything and is very emotional and passionate, and although he has a short temper he tries to reign it in. Zach seems easygoing and carefree, but is actually very stubborn and knows when to buckle down and get serious. He's very independent and doesn't like to show weakness, and as a result acts normal whenever something is troubling him and keeps his problems secret. This can get problematic, since Zach'll keep things a secret until he absolutely needs help, and by then the problem should be pretty bad.

He's very righteous and caring, often sticking up against those he judges unjust. Zach is also very honest and straightforward, as shown when he asks the person straight out whether he wanted help, and will continue to ask if they seem to be in trouble. Other times, he just doesn't ask and helps out without a word. However, despite his passion and hot temper, Zach always tries to be reasonable and logical, often listening to both sides of the argument before making a decision. Ironic, considering that he refuses to rely on others.

Zach is a bit of a blithe spirit, in that he does what others tell him to do only because he wants to. In fact, although the care he has for his loved ones impact quite a lot of his decisions, many of the things Zach does is because he wants to do it. Help people? He offered. Do his best in the relay? Zach wanted to do it, and he was chosen for the job. He's the kind of guy who's got a lot of determination and always tries his best at everything he does, although that can backfire when he tries too hard.

History

Zach has no clue what his parents were like, only that they died in a plane crash while he as too young to remember. He was brought up by his grandfather, who was distant but caring, until the old man died when he was eleven. After the funeral, his relatives were arguing about where he was going to live and who would provide for him. Quite a lot of them didn't want to provide for Zach, because they already had kids of their own, had no room, didn't know how to take care of kids and so on. Finally, after a few months of moving in and out amongst his relatives in the city, he was sent to live with his Uncle and cousin, and has lived there ever since.

His uncle was a good guy and tried his best to raise his kids, but was often away at work, leaving Zach and his younger cousin Finny alone in the house for long periods of time. He tried to come back early and at weekends, but sometimes there was too much work to be done and not enough people. So he taught Zach and Finny how to take care of themselves and trusted Zach to take care of Finny, and to call him if there was anything wrong. They had a pretty good life arrangement that way.

Then last month, his uncle was called out to work overseas for an indeterminate amount of time, no question. He wasn't sure whether to go, but Finny (now 14 years old) and Zach (now 16) convinced him to go and leave the house to them, and that they could take care of themselves and everything. His uncle complied after a great deal of talk, and now they talk through cam chat most days and live by themselves in a small apartment.

So begins...

Beep beep beep Yuki's alarm clock wailed. Letting out a sigh, she rolled over and turned off the alarm. It was already 7:30, which wasn't surprising considering how many times she had hit snooze.

After tossing her blankets onto the foot of the bed, she pulled herself onto her feet, and threw on her uniform. She really didn't want to be late, especially on the first day of the new school year. Yuki grabbed her binder off of the small desk that sat in the corner of her room, and tossed it in her bag, along with several pencils, pens, and a yellow notebook given to her by her parents before she left.

Yuki quietly slipped out of her room and down to the kitchen, trying her best not to wake anyone else up. She grabbed her water bottle, and filled it up, before throwing in her bag.
Reaching into the bowl of fruit sitting on the counter, she grabbed an apple and wiped it off on her shirt.

Picking up her bag and throwing it over her shoulder, Yuki left the building, and started the short walk to school, munching on her apple as she walked. By the time she got to school, the apple had been chewed down to it's core, so she tossed in the nearest trash can, before heading to check the board with the class lists on it. After finding her class, and looking through the rest of the names, she was really disappointed. Nobody she knew was in her class this year, at least that she knew well. There was a girl who was in her class last year, but they never really talked to each other, so it didn't make much of a difference. Yuki sighed and started to walk to her class, not really paying attention to where she was going. Suddenly she bumped into a person.

After Zach shuffled over to the other side of his room to smash the quiet button on his ridiculously loud alarm clock, he began his morning routine - wake Finny up, exercise, take a shower, eat the breakfast Finn had made while talking with him about stuff. Then, after some last minute preparations, they set off for school.

They didn't bother to wait for Mai, although they had considered it during breakfast talk. The two of them were setting off pretty early after all, since Finny had wanted to talk some things over with the teachers. What he wanted to talk about Zach didn't know, but he went along because hey, why not? It beat staying at home with nothing to do, and Zach could check out where his new classes were without being late.

According to Finn, Zach could've used the time to iron his clothes. "It's neater now, although it could still use some ironing," he said doubtfully, staring critically at the still-slightly rumpled uniform Zach was wearing. He sighed, and Zach grinned and shrugged. "Well, that's all I can do for now, so see ya later, cuz." Finn said affectionately, reaching out to ruffle Zach's hair. "Stay out of trouble, ok? We convinced dad that em could manage on our own; don't want him to worry so much he gets an aneurysm.

"Like d- uncle Damien would die from a worry aneurysm," Zach snorted. Those things didn't exist, right? He ducked away the hand Finn reached out, but his face was grinning with affection, and Zach playfully reached up to punch his cousin on the shoulder. "You're right, though." He agreed somewhat seriously. "Uncle Damien really feels guilty too easily. I'll try to stay out of trouble, so you do too, ok?

Finn gave a huff of laughter. "I should be asking you that," he said, turning around, "but ok. I really need to go now, though. Bye!" As he started to run, Zach thought he heard Finn mutter something under his breath.

Zach frowned as he tried to puzzle out the words, walking over to his classroom. Second years, second years, home room was first period... What was it Finn said? "... I hope Mai doesn't kill me?" He muttered aloud, pushing the door to his new classroom open. Why would Mai try to kill Finn? That didn't make any sense, unless she was going to be angry about not walking with them to school. Or had Finn gotten on her bad side? Weird.

Eh, whatever. I'll think about it later.

"First one here!" Zach called, seeing an empty classroom. Then he noticed Ryner and added "or Second one here, I guess. Sorry I didn't notice you," he chattered, walking towards the seat in front of Ryner. Pulling it out, he sat the down backwards, folding his arms and leaning them against the back of the chair. He gave a bright grin at Ryner, continuing "I thought that there was no one who'd come here this ea - oh."

Zach cut off as he noticed Ryner's bloodied tissues and bleeding nose. "That time of the day again, huh?" He said sympathetically, looking around to make sure that there was no one other than the two of them in the classroom. Nosebleeds were brutal, getting them all the time didn't seem like fun. Looking back at Ryner, Zach asked "need help?"

Nice day today. Wonder how long it will last.

Cass shouldered her bag and with a last wave to her parents, ran after her brother. 'Little brother I hate to break it to you, but I doubt they're waiting for you.'

He took off bolting and Cass shook her head. He always was the one to run off without looking back. 'You're on little bro!' She called, taking off after him. It didn't take long for Cass to catch up and soon she was running along side him. Reaching out she ruffled his hair.

Not a moment later Cass was skidding to a stop in front of the school. 'Ah...must we race brother? You know I'm older and taller. Maybe you'll win next year. Now let's get to class.' From her pocket she brought out a slip of paper. Her eyes wrinkled. 'Right. I don't think we're in the same class cause I'm older. Imma head off. Be careful allright?'

Not waiting for a response she playfully pushed his shoulder and began the trek to her class. Cass wasn't really looking forward to this. She'd much rather be learning the easiest way to kill a vamp rather then the square root of 900. Either way she had no choice and Cass found herself walking into a classroom. Two boys sat near the back and she narrowed her eyes at them.

Is his....nose bleeding? Ah gross. I hate blood. Shuttering she took at seat near the front, wanting to get away from the bloddied boy.

What sick person's first words are lies in the morning!? How dare they....Oh, it's Zach.

Ryner was this close to becoming offended by someone declaring they'd entered the class first when he realized who it was. Foster was not too inclined to remember people's faces for the most part, but Zach was one of the exceptions since he'd had previous experience with the young man. Ryner's opinion on him was fairly positive. The man gave Ryner absolutely no reason to disllike nor despise him EXCEPT THAT ONE TIME HE WAS RUDELY DECLINED WHEN HE OFFERED ZACH A CHANCE TO WATCH A MARATHON OF KOREAN DRAMAS.

"I'm sure it's going to happen at least another two times...." Ryner sighed while mustering a small smile to Zach's offer. It was very welcomed since Ryner was much too unmotivated to assault someone for it, and you know... kinda asking people if he could give them blood was a bit awkward and most people would not just accept. Unfortunately, however, there was no time for himself to accept. "Perhaps another time. Others are already arriving." he whispered, nodding his head towards the girl who had just arrived. It did not seem like she liked him, what with the disgusted look on her face, but that would not matter. Soon all the girls in the school would throw themselves at him, begging to be his girlfriend! Then, the world!

MWAHAHAHAAHAHA....ha?

A very sad moment in his life occurred when he realized he would more than settle for one girlfriend. Being an unvampire is suffering.

....being serious for a moment, Ryner felt something very wrong when he looked at the girl, who was making it a point not to pay any attention to him. If he had to give his opinion on what this particular feeling might be, then he would sum it up as to that strange feeling you know the protagonist of a horror movie gets right before the end, when he connects all the dots JUST BEFORE he gets killed and the movie ends. That kinda feeling, and it was coming from this girl. What did that mean? Was she going to kill him? That must be the case since he was feeling this feeling. Or....was it something worse? Oh no.... Ryner figured it out, the reason he was feeling like this.

This girl was very attractive.

Oh wait that's not it.

I mean, this girl did not seem to waste time being polite, what with her showing disgust so readily. That probably meant that she was not someone to waste her effort on things she did not care about. She was probably a very blunt person, who would let it be known if you were getting on her nerves the very second you did. No restraint, nor forgiveness. A person who would immediately tell you that you were going to die if you wronged her in some way.

....I see now.... this must be....

Ryner knew exactly what she was, with only using that brief moment of disgust as basis. For he was abnormally smart for his age, despite how little he let on. Her movements, her actions, even her very own way of sitting in the chair gave it up. She could not hide it from him, nor would he let her try to. With an existence such as this, he would need to be very cautious in his endeavors to survive his school life from now on. One wrong step, one wrong move, and he would be dead before he could blink. Ryner's face paled upon the realization of this girl's true identity and the challenge this foe would bring with her.

...She must be a tsundere.

.......
.....
...
.

Now that he had worn out his interest in imagining things about the girl, he resume conversation with his buddy. "So how are things going, Zach? If I recall right, you enjoy those koreans shows, don't you?" he smiled playfully.

"Ugh, no," Zach groaned theatrically, his face screwing up in distaste. He seriously regretted telling Ryner about his hatred for Korean dramas that day, ever since then the guy had been teasing him about it whenever it seemed appropriate. Flapping an arm, Zach said in semi-serious disgust, "You know I wouldn't even watch that drivel even if you paid me to. What do you think I am, some kind of weepy housewife? Gross."

"In fact," Zach continued hotly, gesturing with his hands as he started on one of the rants that he usually had when it came to Korean dramas, "I think they're kind of idiotic. They're all stupidly sappy and ridiculously traumatic and...." He tried to think of a word to describe what he wanted to say that didn't amount up to it's really dumb or Korean dramas are scum of the earth. "And..."

They remind me of grandpa.

"... And I'm pretty sure that if they all actually tried to listen to each other instead of running off or plotting backstabbings, they'd have the whole plot solved within a day, tops!" Zach finished triumphantly, his face showing nothing but righteous indignation as his fist landed with a thud on the table. The early students entering jumped at the noise, and although Zach didn't bother to look at them he lowered his volume, stopping his rant early with a parting, "they're all behaving like idiots; what on earth is wrong with them?!

It wasn't that he didn't trust Ryner, who was by all accounts a really good friend, even if they did irritate each other sometimes. (Seriously, how could someone be that lazy? Still, Zach didn't push it too hard - they were friends, after all.) No one knew, not even uncle Damien or Finn. Zach himself had only realised it a few months ago, and no way was he telling anyone. Hahahano. He was already supposed to be over it, right?

Taking a pause to recollect his breath, Zac glanced over the classroom, coming to a stop at the person who'd been third in the running in entering their classroom. She kinda looked like Agnes (odd, she hadn't arrived yet) except with different hair from the back. Maybe it was the clothes. Losing interest, Zach whirled around it face Ryner with a grin, all talk about Korean drama's stored away until needed.

"I think we have home room first period, then history." Zach changed the subject, increasing his voice to be heard over the increasingly loud babble of students reacquaint with each other at the beginning of the school year. He rested his head against the back of the chair, his hands cushioning his chin. "Know who our teacher is?"

Are...are they talking about soap opera's?

Cass sighed and sagged in her seat. A few days before she had promised her mother she'd attempt to have a normal school life. That involved clubs, good grades, and...

Friends.

Cass wanted none of those except for good grades. But a promise was a promise and Cass never backed out in something she said she'd do. After all she may actually have fun doing something at school.

Her whole life she expected school life to be like on T.V. The first day of school she'd bump into her soon to be perky best friend, have a shy encounter with a cute boy, and meet the school bitch who would always seem to be after her.

So far it was nothing like that. All she did was spot two boys talking about Korean Dramas of all things. At least it wasn't anything bad.

Unless, you know, you don't like Dramas.

Kay Cass....you promised mom. Let's start with the club thing. No need to rush into friends just yet.

Taking a deep breath Cass stood and walked over to the two boys. Attempting (and failing) to look like a normal everyday school girl she sat next to the older one.

'Hello. My name is Cassandra.' Without letting the boys respond Cass kept going. 'I'm new to this school. Do you prehaps know of any after school activities that are physically challenging? And not basketball or...or....what is it? Base...ball? She shook her head. 'Doesn't matter. Do they provide fencing? Or boxing? Anything like that?'

While smiling towards his friend whom had certainly reacted to his little jest, Ryner pondered a certain philosophical dilemma.

--Do beans have emotions?

Some claim cacti can sense human feelings. What then, of the bean? They don't scream when you boil them, but perhaps some among them know how to use their "bean". Plants might be aware of the world in their own unknowable way. Under such a hypothesis, even vegetarians would be mass-murderers. Brandishing their cruel, shining knives, they gruesomely flay innocent carrots, chop their bodies into sections, and then consume them to the core.

This sort of pondering could wait for another time, however, as it seemed Zach was done on his rant and had asked a question. Perhaps it would be for the best if Ryner saved his korean drama thing for another time instead of the morning. Zach got much too worked up for whatever reason.

"I'm afraid I do not know. Dang..." Ryner replied with a bit of confusion towards himself. He should have looked into that to see if the person would be diligent in disrupting his nap time. Well there was nothing he could do now but watch and wait to see if the teacher was 'good' or not. 'Good' of course was relative to how long he would let Ryner slack off. If he was strict and wouldn't let himself ignore Ryner, then he was obviously a bad teacher who was bad at his job, which was of course to abide by Ryner's rules.

Ryner snapped out of his thoughts and looked at the girl who sat next to him; the very same one he'd just been thinking odd thoughts about. A pretty woman, and that's really all he had on her at the moment, except this oddly eccentric air she had about her. She did not look too comfortable, even though she was introducing herself. Good thing Ryner himself was a bit weird, so that probably worked in her favor.

"I am sure we have a baseball club somewhere around here, but I think the Kendo club would better suit you, given that you sound like you want to punch something. It's more wooden swords and stuff, but still physically challenging, or so I would say. I am not one for clubs to be honest...." he figured he should have probably let Zach answer but she was cute so there's that. "Oh, I am Ryner Foster and this guy over here is Zach. Introduce yourself, nerd."

"Pfft." Zach flapped his hand dismissingly at Ryner. "Who're you calling nerd, geek?" Grinning playfully, he pointed a thumb proudly at his chest. "I" he said dramatically, "am the one and only Cardmaster, got it?"

Turning to the side to face Cassandra, Zach began to introduce himself. "Like Ryner said, my name's Zach Cardson. Cardmaster is cause my last name's Cardson, and I'm good at cards. Anyway, nice to meet you." He said politely, giving Cassandra a pleasant smile. She was new, huh? Cool, maybe he and Ryner could show her around after school. It'd have to wait till Ryner's nosebleed was dealt with, though.

Settling comfortably into his chair, Zach dug into his bag as he answered the question Cassandra asked. "There's a baseball club along with a whole lot of other clubs," he confirmed, letting out a soft aha as he found what he was looking for. "I'm in kendo, and Finn's in the Archery club but..." Zach pulled out a pack of tissues from his bag and gave her physique a thoughtful look. "You'd probably be happier in the martial arts clubs."

Placing the pack of tissues on Ryner's table, Zach shifted uncomfortably. something felt wrong, but he couldn't Figure out what it was. Maybe that weird sandwich finally poisoned me this time... Ah well. Martial arts clubs, martial arts clubs...

"There's a boxing club, yeah," Zach answered, frowning thoughtfully. He continued to unpack his bag, taking out a pencil case and a notebook. Strange, these don't look like mine... "It's also kinda male dominated, but there are quite a few (scarily badass) girls there too and I'm pretty sure they'll let you in the club even though you're a second year, no problem." Zach placed the items on the table and ticked the other clubs he could remember off the top of his head with his fingers. There's also Muaythai, Tae-kwan-do, Silat, Shiritsu, Shooting," wait, that wasn't a martial art. Whoops. "Ninja-do, and Judo."

Along with some others. "Eh, there's probably more but I can't really remember." Zach admitted, shrugging his shoulders. The feeling that something was just off was even larger now, but try as he might Zach couldn't really put his finger on it. Racking his brain in an effort to figure out the reason for the feeling, Zach lifted the notebook and frowned at it. "They'll probably give out orientation in the hall after school, you can visit them then." He absently flipped it open, staring at the first page. "Does-"

Zach came to an abrupt stop, staring at the page in horror. A feeling of dread rose up in him as he stared down at the name printed in Finn's neat handwriting on the front page, and the horror rose to new levels as he whipped his head around to stare at his bag.

It was black with red outlines, and definitely not the navy blue and grey bag that Zach had been using since last year. OH CRAP.

Zach shot to his feet. He grabbed his (no wait, not his) bag and shot Ryner and Cassandra a panicked look. Oh Nonononono how the heck did this happen, why, no wait he could panic later! First thing he needed to do was uh, check the time! And run!

"THIS IS FINN'S BAG!!" He yelled, glancing frantically at the clock. Ten minutes left, so long as he ran Zach could probably make it there and back in time. He made to rush out of the room, calling over his shoulder "C'ya later, please please please let me make it on time," Before he looked over his shoulder at Ryner. "Dude, meet at the roof during break?" He asked.

He's in Kendo?!

Face one of complete focus Cass nodded along as the two boys spoke. Of the strangely high amount of clubs mentioned Kendo and Boxing seemed the most intresting. Of course she'd beat everyone there. No one else was trained to kill a super strong vamp at the age of seven.

A someone excited glint in her eye showed and she smiled widely. 'Wow. That sounds great. I'd love to join Kendo and boxing. I have my own set up in my room at home so it shouldn't be that hard to catch up.' Noting the pack of tissues Cass continued. 'I love sparing above all. Though archery does sound quite interesting.'

For a moment Cass went quiet. Wait....maybe these two could be....friends? Of course she'd have to get used to the whole blood thing, assuming it was a comment thing that happen often. Though overall these two didn't seem like bad options for her first school friends.

Maybe...just maybe.

'May I join you two?' She blurted out right after Zach asked about meeting on the roof. A faint blush arose at her abrupt words. 'S-since I'm new I was hoping to know more about this school. You've already helped me once so....?'

"I was wondering how long it would take him to notice..."

Was Ryner a bad friend for neglecting to tell his buddy sooner about something he had noticed? If we decide to examine the very definition of what a 'friend' is, then we would get this particular definition, assuming we used the internet to find it: "a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations." Judging by this, we could say that Ryner and Zach were indeed friends. They frequently spoke to each other simply to past the time instead of just for business, and Ryner himself would be willing to help Zach out with just about anything, so a mutual bond of affection of sorts was definitely something they had.

But he did not wish for their friendship to be summarized like that. That was too generic, too bland. Boring.

No, if he wanted it to be summed up, he would have to make his own definition.

"A pair in which one feels comfortable abusing and teasing another."

Yes, that was it. It was the perfect way to summarize this relationship they had. He could not really deny that it might be just a bit abusive to tease Zach as much as he did sometimes, but if it were any condolence, he would certianly not do it to anybody else he knew at the moment. In this case they were certainly....

....best friends.

And so that is why he HAD to let Zach remember by himself. Friends want their friends to grow as a person, and to do that Zach had to obviously remember his own class for..... well, reasons. Just go with it.

As Zach raced out of the classroom, he turned back and offered to hang out on the roof. The hidden meaning to this was not missed by Ryner. He knew what Zach was offering, and would have liked to take him up on it, but there was a cute girl asking to hang out with them and she needed help adjusting to this school. Oh well. Perhaps another time, eh? Since Zachary did not have the luxury of time, even if he was completely against it, he did not have the ability to argue it. So Ryner being the great friend he was, accepted on his behalf as well.

"Sure, that sounds fine." he idly rubbed his nose and glanced at the tissues. They should definitely keep him stocked for now, and it should only become unbearable if he waited another two days before he did anything about it. You'll have to wait, nose-kun. "I don't usually have anything better to do anyways, so you're not imposing. Just be warned that you probably picked the oddest ones of the bunch to hang out with. Zachary especially." Ryner gave a lazy smile in response to his own joke.

"Anyway, are you new to the school specifically or are you new to the area in general?" he asked.

These two don't seem bad. Let's hope it stays that way...

When Ryner agreed to letting her join Cass couldn't help but let a relieved smile cross her face. Her whole life she had gone through school after school and any possible friends were either driven away by how strange Cass became once she showed her true self to them, or the Penn family was forced to leave.

Cass hoped that wouldn't happen this time. Her parents said they were here for good, that they wouldn't leave over a vamp across county. She wasn't really sure if she believed them.

But it was better to be sure and so far Cass seemed to make a good choice. Ryner said he was odd so if anyone in this school would accept Cass for who she was it'd be another bunch of oddballs.

'Oh...Um...I'm new in the area. My family just moved here. My uh...baby brother is here too. His name is Alexander.' She chuckled. 'We've never really settled down in one place before. I've been to three diffrent schools for my first year so....' Awkwardly Cass cleared her throat and looked sheepishly at Ryner. 'I'm not really the type to...make friends. Enemies more like.'

(Realized that Robin might be a second year too, so here's my attempt at including him. And also to talk to the other characters, haha. Sorry for all the editing.)

Zach briskly walked down the hall with his hands in his pockets, a small smile on his face. He made no effort to increase his speed; he'd already gotten a teacher's pass and there really wasn't any reason to show up red in the face from running. Zach could feel his smile grow a little bigger as he remembered - he'd helped someone, he'd been good, and yup, no need to run like the wind now that he didn't need to worry about being late.

Life is awesome.

Spying a familiar looking back up ahead, Zach waved and walked faster. "Yo, Robin!" He called out, a pleasant grin on his face. "What's up?"

"Robin?" The boy turned, revealing blue eyes. Definitely not green, that's for sure. He smiled. "Name's Xavier. Think you've got the wrong person, sorry."

"Oh!" Zach laughed awkwardly and scratched his head. Well, that was awkward. Never mentioning this to anyone ever. "sorry, thought you were my friend. Bye!"

Giving a small wave, Zach continued his walk back to class. The teacher had just placed the attendance on the table and had give in him the sternest glare ever, at least until Zach had gingerly presented the note. Then the teacher just sighed, took it and ordered him to go back to his seat.

Zach scurried back, sliding silently into his seat while unstinting his bag to the ground at the same time. "I'm back!" Zach whispered cheerily, giving them a big grin. Noticing the odd look on Ryner's face, he asked the two of them "what happened? Ryner, you look kinda... Weird."

(In hurry this is all I've got for now sorry)

Wait, what happened with the strawberries?

Cassandra nodded along to Ryner's words, only stopping to wave to the teacher that yes, she was indeed here. Overall Cass would have to agree with Ryner. He was boring.

But maybe she needed boring. Something normal in her life to distract her from the fact she knew how to snap a neck before she knew how to drive. 'You don't sound that boring. You've got free time at least. I can't remember the last time I got to just sit down and do nothing.' She shrugged and crossed her legs. 'Besides if you have me in your life it's about to get a whole lot intresting.'

Cass eventually turned her attention to the teacher, who was going on about traffic and PDA in the halls causing him to be late. Her hope for a easygoing teacher just brunt to a crisp.

Zach ended up joining them in the middle of Mr. Grumpy Pants ranting and earned a harsh glare. Cass was sure Zach would of gotten chewed out if it weren't for his note. After he sat down Cass nodded in his direction. 'To answer your question Zachary...Ryner learned I am not to be beat.'

Robin couldn't help but smile a bit when Abigail said she was glad they were once again classmates. That was one of those moments where the two of them agrreed. Soon after he let out a quick, quiet and snarky laugh at the cheating joke. At first he would usually sigh when he had to help Abby in some way. He still did, but not as often as before.

"Yep, we keep a tradition." The boy replied to the remark about how they were always late on the first day of school. "Let's break it next year, shall we?" He said. He yawned while his friend was dragging him towards the cvlassroom, but quickly pulled himself together. Once they reached the door, Robin opened it.

"Sorry for being late, teacher." He spoke quietly. "May we stay for the class?"

His eyes quckly landed on Zach. He remembered to give the greetings from...

"Miss Kanegata!"
Another teacher in one of the senior classrooms approached Mai.
"Pay attention in class! But in order for you to do that... you have to wake up, right?" he poked her head.
Mai groaned, got her head up and rubbed her eyes.
"Sorry, teacher. It will never happen again." she mumbled.
"If it doesn't happen till the end of the day, I'll give you a handshake!" the teacher replied. "Sinse it's the first day of school, I won't be very hard on you. However, you must stop, or you'll fall asleep on the exams! Not that you'll do much better awake. Unless you do this incredibly hard thing called studying. You'll have extra homework. You'll do an essay about the history of vampire mythology! Write that down! If you don't do it, I'll give you a red mark! I'm sorry, Miss Kanegata, but I think this is the only way I can get you interested in reading!"
"Excuse me, teacher!" a classmate called. "Can we start the lesson? We can't spend the whole class concentrating on Kanegata's studies!"
Mai calmly wrote down her assigment and opened her textbook like nothing happened.
"Fine. You're right. But you get extra homework too for involving yourself in teacher's job!"

"Ha."

Ryner let out a very forced laugh at her answer. That's a strange way to put stealing my cheek in the heat of the moment! he thought. But Zachary would certainly use it as an opportunity to tease him if he heard about what happened and Ryner's reaction to said events, so being vague about it was certainly to Ryner's advantage. The young unvampire sighed. Life was about to get a lot more interesting just like Cassandra said, wasn't it?

Looking up at his friend, Ryner shook his head. "Don't worry about it. More importantly than that, we are going to meet up on the roof during break with this new nerd and maybe show her around since she's just joined." he explained, then playfully smiled at Zach as he followed up with, "But don't fret as even though a new nerd has joined, you'll always be numero uno in my books."

"Quiet, Foster." came the angry voice of their kind teacher, Mr.Teach. This was not his actual name, of course, but since he was actually not the kind guy everybody obviously thought he was, Ryner didn't bother to remember his name. Not that he was paying much attention to the lecture the guy was giving as soon as attendance was finished. Odd, actually. Usually by this point in time Ryner would be asleep. Instead he was still talking to this new girl.

Guess she is interesting enough.

As he thought this, time seemed to fly as he almost couldn't believe class was over. Only one more until break, now.

"...Rooftop, we'll meet soon." as he gave a longing glare to the sky (roof of the class), Ryner began packing his things and waited for Zach at the front of the class when he had finished. And maybe Cassandra too, if she had the same class. Unfortunately, Ryner hadn't asked.

Wow....talk about a boring teacher.

Cass playfully pusher Ryner in the shoulder. 'You're one to talk. Psh. Nerd.' A smile present she sent a wink to Zach. 'We all know who the biggest nerd here is, and he's sitting between us.'

The teacher snapped and Cass withheld the need to roll her eyes. Her father was much more scary then he could ever be. Hell, Alexander could be if he tried. She would have a hard time not zoning out.

Cass was suprised how quickly time had passed in class. The teachers words had passed right through her head and out into space. But you couldn't really blame her. Her parents believed in learning on the job so they never gave her long lectures about what to do.

Rubbing her eyes Cass stood and shouldered her bag. She nodded at Ryner's words and took out the slip of paper that had her next class on it. Walking up to Ryner she trust it at him. 'Where is my next class?'

Zach placed a hand over his heart like he was about to swoon. "I'm touched," he said mockingly, but the smile in his eyes and face were sincere as he dropped his hands to the side. "Who knows, she might always turn out to be a geek. But you'll always be the number one geek in my books too, so no worries." you're my best friend too, after all.

Turning around before the teacher noticed that they were talking and have another angry tantrum, Zach gave Robin (the real Robin this time, green eyes and all) a wave before pulling out his books. He intended to keep his promise to Finn.

The lesson was mostly dry, and Zach payed only minimal attention to the lesson. I don't think Cassandra counts as a nerd, he thought, copying the formulas the teacher was writing on the whiteboard in small, neat letters. She doesn't look like one, and she's not a geek either, so... His pen paused for a moment. Maybe a Jock? The nerd, the geek and the jock... Sounds good.

When class was over, Zach quickly packed his belongings. There wasn't much other than the practical black notebook he had used to take notes with and his pencil case, so in almost no time at all he was ready to leave. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, Zach joined Ryner at the front of the classroom to wait for Cassandra. "I think she's a jock," Zach told Ryner, adjusting his bag. "Cause she prefers physical activity and stuff." Frowning at his timetable, he added, "next period is science, I think we're in the same class for that too, although I'm not sure about Cassandra.

Or Robin, either. I should probably check on him later.

Turning towards Cassandra's direction, Zach place a hand in his pocket and grinned. "Hey, Cassandra!" He called cheerily. "What's your next class?"

"Well shit, sucks for you." Ryner said as he held the paper in his hands. He gave it one more look over as if it were possible to accidentally misread it before returning it to Cassandra's hands. "You're stuck with us." came the final verdict.

But before we continue further, let us go back a bit. Lets find out how the situation got so dire, shall we?

Ryner had successfully survived the first class of the day without being verbally assaulted by the teacher, whilst also procrastinating enough to sneak around 30 minutes worth of sleep in too. As class had came to a quick end, he was delighted and ready to enjoy the walk to his next class with his best friend Zach, who was a nerd, as it would happen. Stacking up at the door, Ryner awaited his friends arrival. And then tragedy struck.

Foster was just minding his own business when all of the sudden this girl came up to him as if they knew each other and demanded that he interpret a paper she so rudely shoved into his face! How dare she! What lack of manners! Not even a please! Well he would show her alright.

"Yeah that's the science class me and Zach are headed to." he answered, retrieving his own schedule and showing her the same class on his own. "Well shit, sucks for you." Ryner said as he held the paper in his hands. He gave it one more look over as if it were somehow possible to accidentally misread it before returning it to Cassandra. "You're stuck with us, it seems." Not that he minded that. That's one more person to maybe have conversation with. He actually did not believe that since Cassandra seemed to be one to take her work rather seriously. Guess Mai would be the only one who enjoyed slacking off anywhere to the extent he did. Oh well, it could not be helped.

Ryner figured that because people were getting mad at him and also lining up at the doorway, that they should probably get going. It was a bit of an ass move. "Just walk with us then. Follow me~~" Ryner had nearly sung his last sentence while also retaining a monotone, making it pretty much impossible to get what he was going for, if he was going for anything. But he decided to hurry up and get going, so he started out the door, and not even ten seconds later....

*BUMP*

He had accidentally hit somebody in the hallway, again.

As time slowed to a stop, he noticed something white flash in front of his vision as he and the other individual fell down. It was for the briefest of moments, but he saw it. He couldn't believe it. Even in a split second, he traced every piece of it that happened into his sight, tracing the shape of the clean, white material just before it disappeared once again. Had he.... had he seen pantsu? Was he such a lucky guy?

Time returned to normal abruptly. He was now on his ass and looked forwards. Much to his dismay, he saw his schedule on the ground and realized that he had seen that as he was falling. And, perhaps much to his embarrassment, he saw who he had knocked down. She probably wasn't very happy, considering this was the second time today. Yuki, wasn't it? At least this gave him the chance to apologize to her for.... well, doing this same exact thing earlier but inadvertently calling her short. He just need to say sorry twice, right? But glancing around this was not the case. He could have sworn he heard laughing a few moments ago. If that was the case then he just knocked Yuki out of a laugh, which was unfortunate. Cute girls looked best when they were smiling or laughing and he missed it. He might now just decide to start paying more attention in the halls so as not to make bulldozing a girl over a habit. People frowned upon that, Ryner assumed.

The young unvampire quickly hopped to his feet following the incident, then extended a hand out for the girl. At the moment he was genuinely embarrassed for doing this a second time, but he tried to play it off. "I don't think that pick-up line about asking if you're an angel works if we both fall down so I'll say sorry instead." And nobody could possibly notice his free hand scratching the back of his head furiously.

Hopefully.

Zach looked over Ryner's shoulder at the schedule. "You're stuck with us, huh?" He gave her a grin. "Cool! We can lead you to classes, so there's no need to worry about being lost so long as your with us."

He made to follow them out of the classroom, then he remembered. Oh yeah! Almost forgot. Turning around just outside the classroom, he gave Robin a wave. "Robin!" He called out, waving to get the boy's attention. He heard a bump behind him, but ignored it to shout "We're going to science! Are you in the same class? If so, want to walk with us?"

Alex? What are you doing here?

'Stuck in another class with you losers? God help me.' A very sarcastic groan was heard but Cass still had a smile on her face. She was actually quite relieved she had someone to hang out with. Two someone's for that matter. A whole new world to the hunter really, but one she could totally get used to.

Bag clutched tight Cass was next after Ryner to leave the class so she got a good view of him falling on his ass. Did Cass see the girl there? Yes. Could she of warned him? Totally. Would it of been as funny though? No way.

Cass chuckled under her breath. What a Romeo he turned out to be. It was a good thing Cass was so acustom to her brothers endless flirting with any girl he saw or she'd quickly grow tired of Ryner's failing attempts.

'You're a regular Casanova aren't you Ry-' Her words trailed off as her eyes took in the scene fully. The group of girls were still laughing. At first Cass though it was because of Ryner's stupidity but they had been laughing before that. There was a face she knew way too well in that crowd, and he wasn't laughing.

Cass took a step forward and at first it looked like she was going to haul up the girl on the ground. Instead she stepped clear over her, stalking towards her brother. She grabbed him by the shoulders, inspecting him. While small there was a redness in the middle of his face. Being a hunter Cassandra knew what that meant all too well.

Someone had hit her baby brother.

There would be hell to pay.

One hand stayed firmly on a shoulder while the other grabbed his chin. Much more gently this time she tilted his head to the side. 'Who did this?' Looking at Alex her face was shielded from everyone else but her icy tone could be heard by all.

'Who hit you? Alexander tell me.' She demand. It was clear Cass was serious now. She would never refer to her sibling by his full name unless he was in deep trouble. And even then she still used the nicename Alex. When she used his full name everyone in the Penn family knew Cassandra was out for blood

And she despised blood.

As Yuki was busy laughing at Alex's failure, it was pretty funny seeing him be rejected like that, she didn't notice the boy approaching her from behind, and he must have not noticed her as well, because a few seconds later they were both on the ground. Looking up she realized it was the same boy from this morning, though this time he wasn't alone. He was accompanied by two other boys, and a girl who looked really similar to Alex, so she assumed she must be the sister he had mentioned earlier.

Taking the boys hand, Yuki stood up. Maybe he wasn't trying to make fun of her earlier after all. She tried to remember his name for a minute, before realizing she hadn't waited to hear it."Oh, I didn't catch your name earlier."The girl started to say something, but cut herself off and marched over to Alex, confirming Yuki's suspicions that they were siblings. Alex looked petrified as she marched up to him. She appeared to be inspecting him, before asking him who hit him. The girl who had shrunk back a bit, trying to dis appear into the crowd.

"Should we do something? She looks really mad. Alex hadn't been hit very hard, but it had left a mark, and she obviously wasn't happy about it. She seemed like a completely different person than she was a few moments ago.

Alex stopped laughing as soon as he saw his sister, knowing that if she noticed he had been hurt she would be pissed. While she was distracted by her friend bumping into Yuki, he attempted to rub away the redness, though it only made it worse. As soon as she saw him she stalked towards him, and grabbed him by the shoulders, starting to inspect him. H-hey Cass, I see you made some friends, are you going to introduce me? Don't worry I won't tell that many embarrassing stories. He tried to change the topic, already knowing where this was headed. Though Cass obviously wasn't going to budge.

When she asked him who hit him her voice was icy, the only other times he had seen her act like this was when he got hurt hunting, and the aftermath was not pretty. He definitely did not want to see what she would do if she found out who hit him. "It's nothing Cass, plus you've got three guys over there waiting for you, or are you just buying time because your embarrassed of your little brother."

"Who hit you? Alexander tell me." Alex froze at her words, he couldn't remember the last time she had called him by his full name. She always called him Alex, even that time he accidentally stabbed her in the leg while training, and her saying it now means she was serious about this. All he could do now was buy time, and hope she forgets about it eventually.

M me to your friends, I'll just introduce myself."[/color] Alex walked over to the group of people watching the scene. "Hello." He gave a dramatic bow before continuing. "I'm Alex, Cass's little brother, I'm sure you've heard all about me, and I'll be your go to source for embarrassing stories about her."

As the class ended, Robin stood up. He was glad the teacher didn't make a big deal out of getting late.
"Science is the next class." He murmured to himslef. Then Robin heard a familliar vouice calling for him. It was Zach. Robin had a fairly positive opinion for this guy. He wasn't slacking off with his studies and he was friendly.

"Yes!" Robin replied. "I have science too! I'll come with you!" he then quickly turned to Abby.
"If you have science too, come with us," he spoke to her. Then he reached Zach.
"Greetings from Kanegata-sempai. " he said before witnessing a scene with a boy from year one. Apparently a girl have punched him in the face. Her friends were haveng a good laugh from this. Robin frawned at this. Perhaps the boy had done something to deserve such a horrible act of violence in the hallways, but it was still too much. If they were gender reversed, crouds would run after the one who gave the punch. But if a girl hits a boy, it's comedy gold and celebrated. This double standard has always been loather by Robin.

However, Cassandra, the new classmate was even more furious. Robin was silent the whole time, but he smiled from the inside. It was good to see someone caring for a family member, especially siblings.

The boy however seemed unfazed by everything. He just bowed and introduced himself.
"The guy sure has guts." Robin thought.

"Hey, people!" Mai reached the group, as she was too late for the scene.
"Hello, Kanega..." Robin started, but Mai's half-smirk and raised brow stopped him, before he sighed and continued "Mai."
"Let's all meet at the roof, shall we?"

"Kanega - oh, Mai," Zach said, understanding dawning over his face. "Man, it's been a long time since I heard her get referred to by her last name - huh?"

Seeing Robin frown, Zach turned around just in time to see a familiar looking boy fall to the ground. Considering how the girl was holding her hand and how her friends were giggling, it was obvious what had happened.

Zach frowned. "that's not really fair." he muttered to himself. He took a step forward, aiming to help the kid up, but before he got there Cassandra was on the job.

Zach whistled. Remind me not to get on her bad side.

When the boy - Alex - introduced himself, Zach gave him a wave. "Yo!" he began cheerily, "I'm Za-"

"Hey, people!"

"Whoa!" Zach leapt backwards in surprise the same time Ryner shouted, his hands reaching upwards as though to block an assualt. "Oh, it's just you, Mai," he said, relieved. He brought his hands down. "Don't scare me like that! You nearly gave me a heart attack!"

When Mai asked her question, Zach answered with an awkward smile. "I don't think we can meet up at the roof today," he said sheepishly, scratching his head. he glanced behind him as he did so; Ryner seemed to have the situation under control. The best he could do to help was probably by upping the normalcy by having a normal conversation to get rid of the weird feeling in the air.

"We're suppose to show Cassandra - that's the angry girl who was threatening that other girl - around the clubs during lunch break (or after school (and maybe after class too). Maybe her brother too, since he seems to be a freshman." Zach glanced at Cassandra before looking back at Mai. "Sorry. Did Finn fall asleep in class again?" he added anxiously.

Just then, the bell rang. Well, that's that. Meeting them at lunch doesn't sound so bad...

"Sure, see ya!" Zach gave the fleeing duo a wave. "C'mon, we've gotta go before we're late ourselves," he said to the others, shifting his backpack for it to rest more securely on his back. Hope this helps, Ryner. "I heard that we might be having Mr Ludwig as our teacher this year; he's good but he really doesn't like people being late. C'mon, hurry!"

Zach was already ready to run down the hall with the others, keeping pace with them. "Mai," he called over his shoulder. "Want to join us during lunch later to show them around?"
