Personality: Khennax is not by any means a broken individual, but she is not a whole person either. There are cracks in him, left behind by the many blows she has taken in life – realizing her father hates her, learning that she can not take over the throne, realizing that she has to lie. She has always been a gentle and honest person, and not being able to just show the world who she really is hurts her more than anything else probably could. She wants to show what she really feels, let people get to know her for her, and having to pretend that she is someone else really scares her. She hates her father, and she hates the laws and traditions that have turned her into Prince Khennax. She is a fiercely loyal person, protective and defensive. It is relatively easy to get a rise out of her temper. Though she seems confident around people she trusts, in new situations she shrinks into herself and becomes awkward and shy. She has a bad habit of trusting others too quickly, giving them the benefit of the doubt, and of reaching out to people who are less fortunate than she is. She dose not generally ask permission to do things she thinks are right – she just runs off and does them. It is for this reason that the servants joke she should be put on a leash. More than anything in the world, Khennax fears losing her sense of self to this misguided notion that only men can rule. Unfortunately, when someone tells a lie too many times over and over again, eventually… they start to believe it themselves. She has nightmares every night where she forgets whether she is a woman or a man.
Likes: Sweet foods, cooking (she makes messes while doing it though), animals, magic, practicing magic for her own causes, freedom, being a girl (though she has begun to lose herself in the Prince), the idea of someday overcoming her father
Dislikes: Spicy foods, burning her tongue, small dark places (like closets. There’s a reason for that), thunderstorms, drowning, swimming at all, not being able to breathe, blood, not being able to help, crying in front of other people, her father, death
Fears: Swimming (drowning), cramped and dark places (closets), blood (makes her faint), thunder, being unable to breathe.
Dreams: To be recognized as who and what she really is, before she forgets which form is her real one.

History: (Her history is given in The Story section of the introduction.) Born female to a queen who then died, the only heir to Summerand, a country where only men can rule. Was forced to pretend to be “sickly” in order to separate from society long enough to learn to create an illusion of her being male, now studying Alteration in order to make that change permanent sometime in the future. Recently accomplished the task and is now coming back out into society, supposedly having recovered from her five year illness. Her illness explains the remarkably thinness of her body, and the reason she can not participate in after school activities. The truth is that it takes too much energy to maintain the illusion.
