"Eh, fuck it."

The Basics

Image
Image
Full Name:Ada Marshall
Nicknames and Aliases:Bones (her old gang’s rather distasteful nickname for her.)
Gender:Female
Age:30
Ethnicity/Race:Caucasian/Irish descent
Sexual Orientation:Heterosexual
Species:Human
Occupation:Blood Slave

What's on the Outside

Image
Image
Hair Color:Dirty blonde
Eye Color: Green
Height:5’3”
Weight:125
Tattoos:Ada’s torso is almost completely covered with tattoos she received while in New York. Most are gang signs or have something to do with that life.

Piercings:Her ears are both pierced and she often wears studs in them.

Scars:There are a couple of old, white, jagged scars that run down her right arm. She’ll tell you she got them saving orphans from a burning bus but in reality it was from a bar fight that ended badly for her. She, of course, has the tell tale bite marks from the vampires on her neck, wrists and other various areas that she doesn’t wish to speak of.
Description: Ada is quite a shapely woman and generally most men take notice of her wherever she may go. She knows this and uses it to her advantage quite frequently, or at least she use to. She’s small in stature but has the presence of a giant. Her blonde, shoulder length hair is usually tied back into a bun or some sort of ponytail and she’s often seen in men’s button ups and jeans.

Personality: If one isn’t put off by her crude sense of humor then perhaps they’ll flee for their lives after the third time she’s stirred up a fight with someone twice her size for no apparent reason. What’s that? You’re still around? Ok, so you think you can take her constant flirtations and sexual innuendos? Although I suppose that does go back to the crudeness, doesn’t it? Well if you’re certain you want to stay then hold on for your life.

Ada is certainly one who walks to the beat of her own drum as they say. Her favorite phrase going through life simply seems to be “Eh, fuck em.” If someone doesn’t agree with the way that she is conducting her life then Ada will simply conduct said activity even more boisterously in the person’s face. She’s headstrong, hot tempered and has a punch like a mule’s kick. This isn’t to say that Ada is all grit though, no, of course not. She loves to joke around and make people laugh, in fact she’s quite frequently making crude jokes or sexual innuendos that she thinks are hilarious. If anyone were to actually declare themselves her friend and she found them friend worthy then they’d find themselves a viciously loyal companion who would fight tooth and nail for them. As far as loyalties to the vampires go, Ada is apathetic one way or the other. They’re providing for her and she’s grateful but she’s someone’s feed bag, so it’s definitely not the high life.

Beneath all of the jokes and hot steam though, is a woman who feels like she’s worthless and has no true purpose. She’s never really experienced true affection, love or even honest friendship. Everything has come at a price in her life. Perhaps that’s why she lashes out?

{Crude, Aggressive, Comedian, Headstrong}

Biography
Place Of Origin: New York, New York
Birth Date:August 25th, 1984
History:Ada isn’t a fan of sharing her history, but most people around here aren’t so at least she’s similar in that fashion. She was born in New York to two, eh, semi loving parents. Her dad left when she was five and her mom slept around, drank, partied and left Ada home alone more times than she could remember. It wasn’t until she turned fifteen that she began carving out her own path, although she can see now that it wasn’t the best one.

Ada found her home sweet home in a gang called the Serpetines. She’d stumbled upon the group while wandering the streets when her mother decided to leave her home alone once again. The leader apparently liked the look of her, Ada decided she liked them; they gave her the attention she’d never received from anyone else. So that was that and now the young girl found herself running around with the men and women, she’d sleep with the members, help with muggings and taggings and she’d never been happier. These people loved her, they noticed her and they thought she was useful.

For years she ran around with this group, racking up a police record as well as a reputation as a rather salacious young woman. It wasn’t until she was twenty-five that her “happy” little world finally went wrong. Her “family” wanted her to do a little something, it’d be easy they said, and so she agreed. Ada didn’t even know what had happened until the man was dead at her feet, the gun smoking in her hands. She’d killed him; she’d never killed anyone before. There were many things that Ada knew she was and many things she knew she wasn’t and a murderer was not one of them.

So, she ran. She ran from her old gang, from the city, from her crime. A friend, luckily not gang related, told her she could go stay with some people she knew in Detroit. She’d be safe there and could restart her life. It wasn’t as easy as originally planned however because no matter how hard she tried and how well she lied, no one would hire her for any job. A chance at a new life seemed hopeless until she was approached by a man who she saw quite often in a bar she frequented. They spoke at length that night and he offered her the strangest opportunity. The rest is history.

Happiest Memory:The day she brought home a kitten she found off the street.

Saddest Memory:The night she murdered that man.

Ada sighed and tapped her fingers on the bar in rhythm with the music Caius was playing. It was beautiful to listen to but she’d been here for five years, she knew the drill. He’d play, expect no applause and then probably slink off to seclusion in his little hidey hole. It was predictable enough and once he’d stalked off she twisted around on her stool to face the bar once more and stare at her glass of whiskey. This was a normal night, as normal as one could get when surrounded by creatures of the legend that is.

After finishing off her drink and feeling a bit more sociable, she rose and began to mingle with the other patrons. Ada wasn’t anyone’s personal blood slave, at least not yet, so she would float around to see who was hungry and give them a nibble. Sometimes she’d provide other services if she felt so inclined but tonight she felt like simply doing her job then going home. Her current dress spoke volumes about her mood. Where others were dressed to the nines, Ada was dressed in a plaid, men’s button up, tattered jeans, old sneakers with a messy hair braid to top it off. Basically her dress screamed, say what you need to say then promptly fuck off.

As she roved about the room, a particularly lusty male vampire seemed to be deaf to her signals and tried to get more than a sip of blood from her. She gave him her customary glare of death and doom but it only seemed to power his pursuit on more. Finally the minor struggle ended with her giving him a sound pop in the mouth that echoed throughout the room.

“Suck on that for awhile ya dickhead.”

Jesus Christ that never failed to hurt her fist. When would she learn? Never, yep, probably never.

James skillfully whirled the bottle of alcohol around his hands to the rhythm of Caius’s music as he pours a drink for a pretty brunette. She watched him, smiling and playing with her hair. He poured the liquor into a small glass and placed a slice of orange on the lip of the glass.

“One Ciroc Cosmo for you, belle.”

James smiled broadly at the woman as she picked up the drink and giggled. The accent did it again, making women like this one giggle and be flirty with him. He didn’t mind, it’s just that it almost made things a bit too easy sometimes. Picking up a bottle and spinning it, James continued to watch Caius strum his guitar as the audience became dazed, almost hypnotized as they were absorbed into his music and voice. Years ago, James adorned the same aura of awe from Caius’s melody, but now he’d become used to it. He did tricks to the beat and purely enjoyed it while it lasted.

As Caius finished and removed himself from the stage, more patrons came back to the bar for refills of their drinks. Like always, James filled their glasses and did his own small performances for them, showcasing his many years of experience. After it’d died down a small bit, he picked up another bottle and spun it as he observed the people before him. There were a few blood slaves in a crowd of vampires, not many he was unfamiliar with.

As he looked he saw one vamp gently nibble on at the base of a human woman’s neck. As she leaned her head back James rubbed his tongue along his teeth, feeling his fangs start to elongate. He hadn’t had even a taste of blood yet today, and James knew his eyes were probably becoming a bit bloodshot. He knew he’d get some soon enough though, so he didn’t worry.

His thinking was interrupted as he heard something that sounded like a heavy thump. Turning his head, James smiled. The slightly too big plaid shirt, worn jeans, and the messy hair could only be one person, Ada, one of James’s favorite blood slaves. Apparently someone’d pissed her off and she gave him a whack. Chuckling to himself, James kept watching.

“Suck on that for awhile ya dickhead.”

James laughed more. Her firey personality made him laugh every time he had the pleasure of talking with her. He picked up a glass and poured a small shot as he saw Ada walk away from the vamp.

“May I just say, your one liners never fail to make me smile. How are you tonight ma chérie?”

Blood Bath.

How original of a name.

In the shadows of those who danced, drank, and made merry was one particular female whose eyes scanned the crowd while she slinked from room to room with disinterest expressed. Different genres of music floated to her ears and pounded in her skull as she glided through the various ages of rooms but she didn't seem to find one to be pleased with. However, she eventually came to a stop as she reached the room paying homage to the seventies. Icy blue contacts that covered her glittering ruby irises mimicked the color her orbs once were but still shone with some form of enjoyment as plush lips coated in blue lipstick dotted with small black beads curved into a light smile. Her possible new, brooding employer didn't stay long and neither did she.

At least, she didn't intend to.

Her hand was grabbed by a suave and beautiful man as Oye Como Va started up from the speakers. Apparently the live music was taking a break. She didn't mind, smirking as she detached the train of her dress and followed him to the floor. There was a hunger in his red eyes that she recognized immediately as lust. She gave an inward scoff but was happy to give him at least a dance. He certainly knew his way around salsa. Their movements were graceful and precise, oozing hedonism as the crowd cheered. And she loved it. Most of her work was done in the shadows and she couldn't help but to enjoy the attention received from her more public displays of talent. She had always been that way, a patron of the arts seeking to entertain the unwashed masses.

As soon as the song ended she spun out of his hold and rehitched her train with a flourish, flitting away from the pining dancer to escape the sweet nothings he had streamed into her ear. She was used to such advances -- She had to admit that she was a bombshell and the total package. Plus crazy! With her platinum locks, she had especially been a prize in her own time among the men she encountered. She had not been so perceptive of their desires until she had been Made, capitalizing on them nearly every moment since. Considering a vampire's frozen state of being, she was quite glad that she had taken care of her body even if she never meant to. Her muscle tone wasn't quite as defined as other female vampires whom she had met -- Amazons and Gladiatrices were built like modern body builders. She thought it was gross and cherished her feminine curves.

She had attention now, a new face among many familiars. Her head was held high as she gave a coy smile on her way to the bar, sliding onto a stool and adjusting her choker. The scarred and tattooed viking glanced at her silver ring, pursing her lips. Before she could order, the vampire from the dance floor was beside her, leaning against the bar and facing her with a smile. “Never seen you around here before.” Classic icebreaker. The blonde didn't reply, instead she inspected her polished blue and black nails as though they were the most fascinating things in the room. When she sensed that he wasn't going away, she turned her head and observed him. Delighted with the attention, he slid out a pair of fangs and smirked. “Let me be up front; I'm hot. You're so foine that it's crazy. You're a vamp, I'm a vamp. Let's get outta here. Let's fuck.”

Wow. He certainly was bold. And arrogant. She didn't like him. A polite, amused smile graced her features as she threw her head back in a laugh. As her head came back down, she put her face close to his and her own fangs slid out, his face falling. Hers were much longer and much sharper than his. “Put the baby fangs away, boy.” At her display of age, dominance, and disinterest, he quickly flitted away. Still smiling politely, she glanced down the bar to observe the others. There were quite a few, including a mouthy blood slave and a bartender who was also a liaison specialist. She hadn't cared to pick up their names, having still not decided whether or not she'd take the job. She knew how to find her own clean blood but the idea of some form of companionship was a bit enticing. Interaction would seal her decision later. “Four Horsemen with O neg would be nice,” she called out innocently in a thick Russian accent with arched brows as she put her fangs away.

Ada strode away from her small victory, trying to hide the fact that her fist hurt like hell. Fuckin’ vampires; her mood was even more bitter but the sight of a familiar face at the bar immediately brought a smirk to her face. James was sweet, flirty, funny and as sexy as the day is long so he was high up there on her list of favorite people to be around.

Unceremoniously she flopped onto a bar stool and heaved an over dramatic sigh.

“Oh Lex, you think that if a man lived for hundreds of years he would eventually learn that when a woman says no she means no, but alas, that’s not the case. Also, did you know you fuckers are stout?”

She punctuated the statement by shaking the hand that had taken a beating from the man’s face. Then she downed the shot with only a ghost of a grimace from the burn.

“My night is going alright Lex, only one unwanted come on so it’s pretty good so far. How are you doin?”

She folded her arms on the bar, gazing at James and then squinted her eyes as if taking notice of something. His eyes were blood shot, he was hungry. If there was one person she was comfortable letting feed on her blood then it was him. She’d seen blood slaves drained dry by overzealous vamps, fledglings or just plain assholes so it took a good deal of trust and insanity to let any of these people bite you.

“You need to eat?”

Cocking an eyebrow at the bartender she smirked.

“Don’t be shy now; I’m a walking buffet after all. I’ve achieved my long time dream of running around and letting strangers bite me.”

Ada smiled and hoped the thick waves of sarcasm coming off of her could be sensed. Being a living fast food joint wasn’t actually on her list of life goals but it was something interesting to put on a resume she supposed. As she waited for James to answer there was commotion on the dance floor that vaguely drew her attention. Ah, seemed a new vampire had strolled into town. Queue sarcastic cheering.

“Oh Lex, you think that if a man lived for hundreds of years he would eventually learn that when a woman says no she means no, but alas, that’s not the case. Also, did you know you fuckers are stout?”

He couldn’t help but chuckle at her statement and slid the shot of alcohol he’d poured towards her. James watched Ada take the shot like it was water. Man, he admired a woman that could handle her booze. In fact, that was the first thing that let him know that Ada was someone he’d get along with. That and her sarcastic, wild attitude made for an incredible force to be reckoned with.

“My night is going alright Lex, only one unwanted come on so it’s pretty good so far. How are you doin?”

Hearing this, James looked down; he knew his eyes were probably a bit bloodshot. The last thing he wanted was for her to feel like she was obligated to feed him. As she peered at him, he glanced up at her. Her steady gaze was killing him.

“You need to eat?”

She responded as soon as she saw his eyes. Was it that obvious? He smiled slightly at her quick observation. Though she now knew he was hungry, he still attempted to hide his now elongating fangs.

“Don’t be shy now; I’m a walking buffet after all. I’ve achieved my long time dream of running around and letting strangers bite me.”

James laughed at her sarcasm and frankness. The hard truth is that, in essence, many vamps saw humans to be just that. He sighed. If only it wasn’t like that. He watched Ada turn her neck to see the couple dancing to some salsa music that came on. The man was one he’d seen before that took many women to and from here. In his arms was a gorgeous vamp that James had never seen before. She moved with such grace, it seemed that she’d been incredibly experienced in dance. And she gave off such a feeling that it seemed she was almost regal. What’s someone like him doing with a lady like her?.

When they finished the dance, Ada cheered, and James spotted her jugular. His mouth watered as his fangs fully elongated. He picked up Ada’s hand, spotting a pale vein near the surface. He pulled her hand to his lips, but instead of biting her, he nipped her just enough to break her skin than gently sucked the blood from her as a baby would to a mother, only taking as much as he needed. There was no use in gulping down large amounts, that was just greedy. Once he finished, he licked the remaining blood from the spot and kissed her hand.

“Always looking out for me aren’t you m'amie?”

“Let me be up front; I'm hot. You're so foine that it's crazy. You're a vamp, I'm a vamp. Let's get outta here. Let's fuck.”

James frowned, looking over to the pair that had arrived at the bar. How rude could he be?

“Put the baby fangs away, boy.”

James took notice of the…the almost extravagantly long fangs this woman had. Damn… The scum retreated away at the mere sight of them, and James didn’t blame him.

“Four Horsemen with O neg would be nice.”

James smiled at the woman then looked back to Ada.

“Duty calls cher.”

James laid her hand back onto the countertop and smiled at the lady. He picked up and spun five different bottles, tossing and spinning them with flair. Another woman that knows her alcohol. Remembering his fangs were protruding, he retracted them as he poured the O negative blood into the shot glass followed by four different kinds of whiskey. Then he slid it to the lady.

“I hope you enjoy it, ma belle.”

During Ada’s totally, completely and absolutely sincere cheering for the dancing couple, James lifted her hand to his lips to feed. She was a bit surprised at the suddenness of it but when vamps were hungry certain things tended to set them off so who knows what he smelled, saw or whatever to make him act. Despite her surprise she easily slid into a smirk as she watched him drink. The nip wasn’t bad at all, in fact throughout the years she’d built up quite a tolerance to the burn of fangs piercing her skin but she didn’t need to worry about toughing it out now; James was gentle.

He finished with a kiss and Ada’s smirk stayed in place as he looked up at her and spoke.

“Always so charming aren’t we? You better be careful tossing around those pretty French words mister or something is bound to happen to you.”

She flirtingly teased with James but his attention was pulled away to the new vamp that had been on the dance floor earlier. He left and, as always, mixed her drink with flair. Ada watched him toss the bottles around as if it were nothing and enjoyed the free show before turning her attention to the newbie.

Beautiful gown, beautiful woman, high class appearance overall; Ada would bet anything that she was stuck up. There was no way to tell around how old she was unless she flashed her fangs but guaranteed she was one of the older vamps. She’d only been in this new world for five years but in her opinion it was long enough to know just a little bit about a few things. Most older vamps had an aristocratic air about them, or as Ada liked to put it a stick up their ass attitude. This woman seemed to fit the bill but eh, who was she to judge.

Once Ada was satisfied with her observation of the new woman she watched James work behind the bar. Would it be against social expectations to take advantage of him on the bar right here and now? She couldn’t help but chuckle to herself at the thought of the scenario. Well, she might not be able to cause shock and awe like she wanted but James had to still be hungry, he was always a polite eater. When he was finished with the new girl she’d offer him some more blood then maybe talk him into walking her home before the sun came up. There was no way she would take a chance of repeating last spring when some asshole vampire jumped her and tried to drain her. Good thing male vamps still had balls to kick.

Ada leaned over the bar to get James’ attention; she was never one to care if someone was in the middle of something. When she wanted your attention then godammit she wanted your attention. She then pointed at the wrist he’d bitten, waggled her eyebrows and gave him an overly animated wink before sitting back down. Ah yea, she was smooth.

“Je vois que ni la classe, ni les mœurs sont les critères d'embauche ici. Caius vraiment ne s'attend pas à moi de travailler autour d'un manque de respect t-il?”

A playful smile teased on her lips as she lifted her chin, Russian accent disappearing as the French words took over with flawless timbre that suggested some time spent in Western France. Ada's antics did not go unnoticed though Lyndi hadn't even needed to turn her head. The human was loud, violent, rude, and obnoxious. The pretty face soon became ugly in the viking's eyes and she decided that the two wouldn't get along so well. She was all for a bit of disrespect here and there, more than capable of having a good time -- often at the expense of others -- but only when it was appropriate. However, she found the human's gaudy plea for attention irritating.

“La boisson est fabuleux, par la manière. Vous avez certainement un moyen avec vos mains, oui?” She remained polite throughout as she complimented the drink as it burned her throat with a shot of pleasure. She threw a flirty smile his way with a crystal blue winsome gaze. He certainly wasn't lacking in charm, appearance, or talent. And she liked that.

James grinned, recognizing his native tongue. It'd been a long time since he'd heard someone so fluent, but it was quite welcome. It was also a plus that it came from someone so...experienced in life. "Merci, j'ai pratiqué mon art pour un bon bout de temps maintenant, et je suis heureux de savoir que vous avez apprécié."

"Les gens d'ici sont en fait pas si mal. Il n'y a que quelques-uns, comme le monsieur qui, franchement, a suggéré qu'il obtiendrait dans votre pantalon. Les autres habitués sont généralement bonnes personnes, comme elle." James looked down the bar to Ada and grinned. He cared greatly for her and couldn't allow her to be insulted. He knew her attitude was frowned upon by most but she was a great person. When she and James became friends he gave her all his respect and loyalty.

Gazing at the face of the woman before him now, he wondered what job Caius could have possibly given her. James could barely imagine someone of her stature working here. "J'ai entendu qu'il y aurait quelques nouvelles personnes à se faire embaucher ici. Je ne m'attendais pas quelqu'un comme vous, bien, magnifique."

While she didn't know his name she did know James well enough from passing word and personal recon from the past month, the ongoing interaction with him confirmed it. He was gentle and a bit of an old soul, having a classic charm to him. She estimated that he was around a century and a half in age, obviously from France. Ah, France. Terrible military but amazing sights and fashion. The men could be a bit grimy but she could see James was one of the good ones. His mellow personality and gentle, personal smile made him easy to talk to. She could see why he was a liaison.

Finishing her drink, she slid the glass across the counter with a nod indicating a desire for another. “Voyons voir si vous pouvez faire une Bombe Pop décent. Avec O positif.” She placed one elbow on the counter and rested her chin in a hand covered lightly with a thin glove of lace bearing intricate design. “I'm still not quite sure if I'll take up his offer -- But I'll take that compliment. I might just work here to spend more time with you.” Her flirting was bolder now as she gave a wink that was more playful than it was a sexual advance. She made sure to keep her tone light, indicating that she was merely teasing.

Her interest in him was genuine but she had no intentions of letting him part her legs. “I'm simply used to working with more... Traditional folk. A higher class of clientele, you might say. This sort of place isn't usually my scene.” She turned her head towards a vampire in a nearby corner ravaging a blood slave, seeming two seconds away from ripping her clothes off as he fed, indicating to the beautiful bartender what she meant. Her expression contorted to one of mild disgust, her nose crinkling. The way her face was designed made the expression a bit more... Adorable than it was meant to be.

James grinned at her request and her advances. He could tell she was just teasing him...and he kinda liked it. Going down the bar to grab the alcohols needed, he brushed Ada's cheek. "I'll be with you again soon ehough, ma chere. Be patient with me, and I promise I'll walk you home tonight." As he made his way back down the bar, he pulled a tall glass out and slid it as he mixed and poured the liquors. By the time he made it back to the woman, the drink was prepared. Slipping a tiny staw into the drink, he handed it to her. Noticing the couple that she'd been referring to, James sighed. "Sadly, not everyone knows what's appropriate for public and what should be done in private. Sometimes we ge more interesting and classic minded people as well."

Directing his attention back to her, he saw the face she made at them and lightly chuckled. It looked as if she were pouting with an expression that was not unlike a disgruntled seven year old's. I have to know now. It's too much not knowing what glorious name someone like her must call themselves. James leaned on the counter with his head in his right hand. "I simply must know now -- What does a belle like you call yourself?"

The drink looked well enough and she sipped it as she listened to him defend the honor of the club, assuring her once more that not all of its patrons were complete morons without tact. She would give him the benefit of the doubt. She hadn't much scouted the patrons over the month, paying more attention to Caius and his employees, human and vampire alike. The vampires impressed her but the humans... They weren't exactly top tier. Then again, they were living in the age of Twilight so it wasn't a shock. The majority of the humans were despicable and she hated the idea of working with them. She hated to sound pompous, but it was just so beneath her. Still -- They were prey and she was predator. A girl's gotta eat and a lion didn't choose a gazelle based on their personality.

Her head turned towards him, expression settling back into a smile as she gave a nod of approval at the drink. He was now resting in the same fashion she was, his smile winning her over. She wondered just how long of a string of broken hearts he left trailing behind him, inwardly chuckling at the thought. At the request of her name, she leaned forward some, the side of her face pressing against his as she slid out her fangs and brushed them against his earlobe. “Just call me Lyndi, mon amour.” She drew back with another wink and a lifted brow, indicating that it was now his move in this game they played.

James smiled broadly, shaking his head. This woman did know how to use her charm to get what she liked. She had to be a new liaison specialist, there was no doubt about it. Her looks, charm, and skill with languages pointed to that being the ideal duty for her. James put his hand on his chin, rubbing his facial hair. He felt he needed to be sure. "You're a beautiful woman with enough charm to sway a nation; you absolutely have to work with me." James smirked as he was taking up her hand. "Or are you going to leave me here by my lonesome, ma ange?" It was his turn to pout now.

“Comment pourrais-je oser même penser de vous quitter tous seul quand tu me traites si bien, ma lune et les étoiles?” His hands were as gentle as she imagined and she quickly replied with dramatic flair in the style of the French actresses of old, women who truly knew drama and theatre. Her gaze became one of adoration as she pouted, the full lips so perfect for the expression, enjoying the flirtatious game she had begun. She knew what he was getting at and was content to keep him guessing at what position she had been offered, though his assumptions were right on the money.

James smiled while sighing. This woman was something else, and she'd impressed him thoroughly. "We shall see, Lyndi. We'll see." James raised her hands to his lips kissing them lightly. James released them as he began to walk back to Ada at the other end of the bar. "Come back and see me soon, ma chere! Don't forget about me."

Lyndi issued the lightest of laughs with her head tossed back as she blew him a kiss before collecting her drink. Fan in one hand, beverage in the other, she was soon disappearing. The seventies were getting boring now and she needed someone new to chat with. Like Caius. She certainly needed to discuss her terms with the man if he was going to be hiring her. She held high hopes for the older vampire simply because he was older. She didn't cross many that were her age, far fewer were old than her. This would be the third time in her life that she had met vampires older than her since her Making.

Caius, she knew, had been some Roman soldier and Senate in his former life among many other things after the fangs came. Roman -- That explained his excessive brooding. Still, she retained a polite expression as she found his room and gave the door a light push to reveal herself. “Before I agree to anything, we've got some terms to set. Rule number one is that I absolutely do not take orders from babies.”

Caius vraiment ne s'attend pas à moi de travailler autour d'un manque de respect t-il?” - I see that neither class nor manners are hiring criteria around here. Caius really doesn't expect me to work around disrespect does he?

“La boisson est fabuleux, par la manière. Vous avez certainement un moyen avec vos mains, oui?” - The drink is fabulous, by the way. You certainly have a way with your hands, yes?

"Merci, j'ai pratiqué mon art pour un bon bout de temps maintenant, et je suis heureux de savoir que vous avez apprécié." - Thank you, I practiced my art for a long time now, and I am pleased that you enjoyed it.

Les autres habitués sont généralement bonnes personnes, comme elle." - The people here are not that bad. There are a few, like the gentleman who, frankly, has suggested that he would get in your pants. Other regulars are generally good people, like her.

The night's crowds had already begun to gather. It came as no surprise. The wind which blew through her hair would have felt cold against her neck had she been able to feel its temperature at all. She was late, though if one were being completely honest, tardy would have been a more appropriate term.

Her tongue snuck out to lick the remnants of blood from her top and bottom lips. Most of the vampires that knew Jayne Adler knew that she was easily aggravated when she was hungry, and on one occasion that the girl had worked on an empty stomach, heads had rolled. Thus, she had made it a habit of hers to never come in to the Blood Bath to work the bar until she had fed.
It would appear odd to some that a woman such as Jayne, with what were at times slightly poor social skills (she harbors little patience for unnecessary blabber and even less for bad manners) would find work as a bartender, a position that would put her in direct contact with fair numbers of patrons each night. However, the fact was that she was fast on her feet, good with her hands, and working behind the bar meant she was only a few feet away in the event any of the merry-making get out of hand and she was required to step in.

Moving past the preliminary introductions, tonight it seemed would be just as busy as any other, or so was the thought passing through the dark-haired woman's mind as she maneuvered her way through the crowds to the bar. She had stepped inside just in time to hear the last echoing verses of Caius’s song, the final notes of the melody, before the man retreated back to the comfort of his solitude. She had stood as she’d listened, waiting until he had disappeared before slowly stepping through the gathering multitude of patrons.

As Jayne reached the bar she could see that James had already begun his work. In front of him sitting at the bar were two women, only one of whom Jayne recognized, Ada. She nodded to the man in greeting and gave the two in front of her a simple look, enough to acknowledge their presence, though she had spared a second glance at the unfamiliar of the two faces, merely out of curiosity. As it went, there were times that Jayne indulged herself in conversations, and then there were times that she worked quietly, only speaking when she was required to. Tonight, however, she did not yet know which it would be.

From the corner of her eye she observed the conversations and goings on of both James and the two women he was entertaining, catching bits and pieces of their words and barely hiding her smirk. James was a flirt. It had been one of the first things she’d taken notice of when she’d first met him, and there had been many nights where her sole entertainment had been taken from watching the girls and women, both mortal and immortal, flock to him like moths to a flame. She simply didn’t have the time to catch the full length of their conversation, as men and women up and down the bar were calling for her services.

Ada huffed, watching with a bit of irritation as James continued to chat up the new girl. He was always flirting with everyone, left and right so it wasn’t anything new but something about this woman really irked her. Why would he find this woman, above anyone else, intriguing? Was it because she was pretty? Ada squirmed on her stool and fingered the edge of her plaid shirt, suddenly self conscious of the way she was dressed. This was fuckin’ ridiculous; it wasn’t like she was trying to impress anybody! Right?

The longer she waited, the more uncomfortable she felt. These unwanted and unneeded emotions that were bubbling up were confusing. Never before had she needed anyone and never would she need anyone. Why pine for attention now when she knew how it would end? This dance had been danced many times before and would always stay the same.

Finally Ada decided that she was a big girl and could walk her own ass home as she’d done many times before. Why count on others when she knew better? So with a last look at the bar, Ada walked out the door as James finished talking with Lyndi. Once outside, Ada pulled her coat tightly around her to avoid the chill. She would say it was nice to finally get some fresh air but this was Detroit so there was no such thing.

James turned back to where Ada was sitting, except she wasn’t there anymore. Oh no…she’s probably pissed at me… James put up the few glasses on the bar he used and looked around. On the other end of the bar, James saw Jayne. He didn’t notice her come in. He had been too consumed by the conversation he had Lyndi. Quietly cursing at himself for not paying attention, he walked briskly to Jayne.

Through the time he’d been working here he’d tried not to make things harder on anybody, but tonight James really felt bad about leaving Ada hanging. And besides, he'd promised her he'd walk her home, and he was determined to do so. Of all people, she was the main person, man or woman, that he didn’t want to disappoint.

“Jayne, chere, could you watch the bar by yourself for a while? I need to go find Ada. I’ll be right back, I promise!” Ending with a quick smile and wink, James jumped over the bar and jogged towards the door he assumed Ada left out of.

He stood outside looking around him, the cold air barely affecting him, though he was in a very thin shirt and jeans. In a half-jog, James went down to the street he and Ada would normally follow to go to her house. Catching a glimpse of her he quietly walked behind her until he was inches from her. Leaning forward to her ear, James whispered:

“Come on, ma chéri. You know I don’t break promises.”

The streets were relatively quiet as she walked asides from the stray dogs one heard here and there. Streets eerily abandoned, buildings crumbling all around, one would think this were some sort of post apocalyptic world but no, it was just Detroit. Ada sighed as she trudged on through the cold, her breath making wispy puffs in front of her. One thing she prided herself on was her utter lack of caring what others thought of her and so the simple fact that she cared so greatly about what James thought bothered her immensely. Being casual friends with someone is one thing, it’s a mutual give and take relationship but anything past that are dangerous and dark waters. Maybe she should consider distancing herself, just doing her job, coming and going, a simple that’s that.

Absorbed in her thoughts Ada had no idea James was behind her, not that she would have had an inkling anyway the sneaky bastard. The moment he whispered she whirled around in an almost comical, flailing fashion. She then planted herself in an attack ready position, eyes wide and chest heaving from adrenaline. Once she saw who her alleged attacker was though, she relaxed and folded her arms over her chest; an annoyed expression quickly plastering itself to her face.

“Jesus Christ man! Sneaking up on unsuspecting people in vampire territory at night?! What’s wrong with you?!”

After getting out her nerves via shouting, she sighed heavily and ran a hand over her messy hair.

“Yea, yea I know you don’t break promises but I didn’t want to interrupt your conversation with the prissy new vamp you were chatting up. It seemed like you two were getting along and far be it from me to cock block anybody so off I went.”

Ada did her best to keep the bitterness out of her voice and she thought she did a pretty damn good job of it. Stupid James with his stupid pretty face and being all nice all the time! Stupid fantastic bastard.

“So, you know, I’ve pretty much got it covered from here. You already saw my moves!”

She did a quick reenactment of her flailing from before, before continuing.

“I’ll be alright and you can go back and work or..whatever else you need to do.”

“Oh, cher…” James cooed.

He hated to see Ada upset with him. The last thing he wanted was for her to distance herself from him. She tended to do that when she ignored or upset.

“I’ll be alright and you can go back and work or..whatever else you need to do.”

In her voice he could sense a little of what seemed like…bitterness? Was she jealous? Was that why she left? The mere thought made James smile. He knew Ada wanted his attention, but he never thought she’d want it this much.

Though the pair often flirted with each other, James had learned not to take her too seriously, no matter how serious he was. A hit or two had taught him that. Grinning, James stopped Ada from walking away from him, gently pulling her closer by the sleeve of her jacket.

“There’s nothing more important more me to be doing at the club than making sure ma ange gets home safe. I’d lose it if something happened to you. Now, shall we, belle?”

Finalizing his position on the subject, he put Ada’s arm through his, and he lightly rubbed the arm with his free hand. Feeling the need to explain himself, he continued talking while casually strolling with her towards her place.

“I’m sorry I didn’t come back for you as quickly as I should have. She told me that she’s the one Caius is considering hiring. She’s going to be a liaison specialist as well.”

Ada kept up an apathetic look as James cooed, smiled and reassured her; damn him. He was so difficult to stay upset with but honestly she wasn’t angry with him in the first place, it was mainly her own screwed up sense of attachment that caused the problem. Now here he was apologizing for having a conversation with someone else. Great, she was now a crazy, obsessive friend.

“No, no it’s fine. You don’t have to ever rush anything for me. I’m just…”

She paused looking for the right word to describe herself. I’m angry? Loud? Stingy? No those sound unflattering, not that he didn’t already know those things about her.

“Impatient, you know I’m just impatient. Besides, that vamp put off this vibe that I didn’t like. We females have a pretty innate sense about one another you know. We got this predator type sense and if we don’t like one another then the claws go out.”

She smirked up at him, hoping to ease back into their usual relaxed mood.

“I saw you were having a pretty nice time with her though so I decided not to attack and mess her up.”

Ada stated this with a tough-guy inflection despite knowing that any of the vampires in that club could tear her to shreds if they really felt like it.

“So, a liaison specialist you say? She’s going to drag in more poor unfortunate souls? I guess you guys are going through us feed bags pretty quick; need to keep the shelves stocked.”

Well, that vamp was far behind them and now it was just her and James. Ada was going to have to teach herself to reel in the jealousy, anger and all the other crazy emotions she felt. Maybe punching a wall would be nice and therapeutic. Either way, right now she was walking beside one of the only friends she had and had ever known. The only man who had ever treated her with any sort of kindness, respect and attention that wasn’t completely sexual; he far surpassed her and nothing would ever come of it but it was still nice while it lasted. She leaned into him ever so slightly, he didn’t emit warmth to cut the chill but she didn’t mind.

“So, a liaison specialist you say? She’s going to drag in more poor unfortunate souls? I guess you guys are going through us feed bags pretty quick; need to keep the shelves stocked.”

James smiled slightly at her remark. He loved moments like this with Ada, when things were relaxed and light between them. The jokes and the closeness put him completely at ease. He could feel her lean on him a bit more, and he grinned broadly, delighted with her actions. Knowing that he could help her be at ease as well made feelings well up inside him.

This had happened many times before, James thinking about his future…relationship…with Ada. He always dismisses the idea. She already didn’t really like to be anyone’s juice box, so James figured she wouldn’t even think about being a vampire’s girlfriend. Sighing, James once again refused to think about it and pulled Ada closer to, at least, protect her from the wind since he couldn’t warm her.

As they approached Ada’s apartment building, James instinctively pulled her closer. The air reeked of booze and smoke, reminding James of an alcoholic smoker that’s been sitting in his own filth for years. Though this was probably an exaggeration, the place reeked nonetheless. It confused James as to how Ada could stay here.

Walking up to the entrance of her apartment, James let go of Ada and turned to her.

“Until we see each other again, mon ange.”

James bowed his head down as he raised Ada’s hand to his lips. He lightly brushed his lips over a vein and kissed her hand. As he
came back up he placed another small kiss on her cheek.

As her apartment complex came into view, Ada internally sighed knowing that soon she’d be alone in her small unit for the day. Well, she at least had the company of the fighting upstairs neighbors. She smirked at her own joke and watched with little interest as some local alcoholics fought with each other in a nearby alley. In all honesty she could afford to live somewhere ritzier but she wouldn’t. The vampires provided her with everything she could possibly need but it was literal blood money and her pride wouldn’t let her spend it.

Finally they reached the bottom of the complex and James kissed the back of her hand, as per usual. He had murmured some sort of French sweet nothings and she playfully rolled her eyes as she was kissed. The moment he floated up and pressed a light kiss to her cheek, Ada felt a heat fill her. Her mind came to a snap decision in that instant. James was her friend; she liked him, quite a lot. So nothing would come to be of them but when had she ever let anything keep her from acting on what she felt? Just do it.

As he pulled away she quickly turned her head, her lips meeting his. The kiss was brief and chaste, something she wasn’t use to. Still she lingered near his lips, breathing heavily.

“Are you..still hungry?”

Do what you want, life is short, fuck anyone who tells you that you can’t do something.

Surprised by the sudden kiss, James froze up. Did she…did she just? Even his mind was a bit slow in comprehending the actions that had just taken place. All those previous thoughts about the future he could create with Ada flooded back into his mind, but this time they seemed a bit more obtainable. Though Ada had pulled her lips away from his, he could still feel the ghost of their touch and the caress of her breath.

“Are you..still hungry?”

He smiled slightly as she asked the question, still lingering near her. Remembering the small transaction they’d had earlier, James’s fangs began to elongate. He’d only taken just enough for him to survive until tomorrow, leaving him with a small twinge of hunger. It was one he was used to, but the thought of being completely satisfied was incredibly enticing. Licking his fangs and smiling, he nodded a little.

“A little bit, cher.”

Ah, the comforts of home.

Leotychides was one of the relatively few Vampires who called Blood Bath home. However, he wasn't alone. He had allowed Cheveyo to remain with him for the night. He intended to let him loose into the club when night fell so that Lyndi might happen upon his...gift. Despite his hunger, he refrained from feeding on Cheveyo and Leandra the previous night. Cheveyo was Lyndi's and she had always been extremely greedy when it came to her blood. However, Leandra... His beautiful Leandra. He woke and thought of her immediately, sliding his fangs out with a groan. He wasn't going to just bite her like a common blood bag. He knew that feeding could either be a wonderful or traumatizing experience and he wanted her first time being fed from to be amazing. He wanted her to crave the feeling of his fangs against her smooth flesh.

Smirking to himself, he rose from his bed and stretched out with a yawn. He moved around at lightening speed, dressing himself after a shower. He settled for his usual black tank top and loose jeans, though he added a dash of color by sliding on a red plaid shirt over it, not bothering to button it up. He could hear Cheveyo moving around in another part of the room but he didn't bother to check up on him until he had tousled his own hair and pulled out his phone, texting Leandra to meet him in about thirty minutes. Shoving his phone into his pocket, he headed towards the sound of Cheveyo moving around and found the massive Native American doing pushups. Lifting a brow, Leo gave a nod. “We're opening soon; You should probably make yourself presentable. Unless you intend to be shirtless when you reunite with Lyndi.” He was sure that Lyndi wouldn't complain so much about that. Leo was about as heterosexual as men came but he wasn't afraid to give credit where credit was due – Cheveyo was an attractive man.

The Native American gave a wordless nod and Leo sighed, glancing at the clock nearby. “Lila will be here shortly. I need to go help open up. When Lyndi arrives I'll have Lila send her back here.” The two gave quiet nods before Leo left with an awkward silence lingering in the air. He walked through the halls with a cool manner about him, smiling at those that he passed. He moved at a rather human pace as he aided the blood slaves that lived in Blood Bath, usually with picking out outfits. He negotiated some time off for some of them due to injuries suffered the previous night. While he didn't much care for humans any more than they cared for cattle, he still retained some form of humanity. He certainly wasn't going to ruin the club's image by sending out blood slaves who looked broken and beaten down. That was just tacky. He made sure that everyone working that night looked their absolute best, greeting guests with smiles and civility. It didn't take too long for the parties to get underway, lights going dim and music blaring out. Leo was satisfied, taking up perch on the first floor so that he could greet Leandra when she arrived.

He was met first by his friend and Doyen, Caius. He already had a sense of what the man wanted to speak about, a fanged smirk coming to his lips. “Last night, yes. A wonderful young woman - Leandra - who is quite an addition. She came in seeking a job so I had her dance for me.” He gave a light chuckle and leaned his head back. “And she's mine.” There was an edge of possessiveness in his tone but that was hardly – not at all – a disrespectful thing. It was merely common among Vampires to assert their ownership over their personal humans. “She should be reporting in for work soon enough, old friend.” He gave Caius a light pat on the back and leaned his head back some, putting his nose to the air so that he could sniff out his human.

Cheveyo had hardly slept at all that night. He hadn't even gone back to the hotel, deciding that he would stay at the club. He wasn't particularly sure why. Perhaps it had to do with Lyndi being there. The thought of leaving the place while she was there was simply not an option to him. He would stay, praying that when he greeted her she would welcome him. He had tossed and turned on the cot that was far too small for him, imagining a thousand ways that their reunion could go. Of course, in his mind, it always had a happy ending. All he wanted was to just hug her tight and nourish her. He missed the days of being needed by someone. Many thought that it was strange for such a large and strong man to be so dependent on... Anyone, really. But he had absolutely shame in his dependence upon the viking goddess. He literally owed her everything.

The next night couldn't come fast enough and he had spent all day mentally preparing himself for the meeting that was only hours away. He was offered food and drinks when he had wandered out and found the den where the blood slaves who either had no other home or simply didn't want to leave lived at. He was glad that he wouldn't have to starve – He was a big man and he tended to eat a lot. There were women there – and men – who attempted to get him to stay, trying to seduce him. But he left them behind. He wasn't one to say “no” to people but he wouldn't let anyone sully his reunion with Lyndi. He returned to Leo's room after getting his fill of food, proceeding to a workout once night came. He tended to work out when he got anxious. He hadn't been this anxious in a long time – With Lyndi, he had no need to be. When she was gone, he hadn't expected her to come back or contact him. He dreamed it, of course. Tonight... His dream would become a reality.

By the time Leo had woken, Cheveyo was ready to go. But he was being left behind until Lyndi arrived. He understood. Leotychides had a job to do and Chev couldn't pad around behind him like a puppy. He couldn't hang around by himself either. Not unless he wanted to be fed on. So, he waited. It didn't take longer than an hour or so until Lila had come for him, opening the door and wordlessly motioning for him to follow. He offered her a kind smile as she lifted a brow in approval of his physique. “You're going... Shirtless. For the night?” She didn't seem to have a problem with it as she lead him through the halls. Cheveyo gave a deep chuckle and nodded, his shoulder-length locks swaying a bit while he stroked his beard and mustache. “I am. It's hot and I don't want to wear a shirt.” Lila left it at that, not feeling a need to put up a fuss about it. She guided him to the bar on the first floor, nodding to Caius and Leotychides as she passed by them. “James! Please keep an eye on this one until his Vampire arrives. By order of Leotychides.” Cheveyo watched as she gave a light bow before speeding off with her clipboard.

James walked down the sidewalk with his eyes closed, thinking back to the events of the previous night. He thought about Ada, what she'd said...what they'd done. Then his thoughts wandered back to the beautiful vamp he'd met...Lyndi... The name echoed through his thoughts. She'd definitely left a mark on him. He remembered her mentioning working at the club as well.

As his thoughts grew and consumed him, he mentally shook himself. There was no reason to think so hard. He shrugged to himself and concentrated on his steps. Though he lived a few miles from the club, he enjoyed walking anyway. The air and time allowed him to think and psych himself up for work. After all, he did need a clear mind if he were to be tossing bottles everywhere.

Lyndi had left Blood Bath shortly after having made negotiations with Caius and finishing a few more drinks. She had no desire to become a target of Leotychides' conversation. She wasn't ready to exchange words with him just yet. At least not around others. She knew that as soon as she had a moment alone with him she was going to punch him in his dick. He deserved a hell of a lot more for what he had done but she was in a rather good mood. Why? Maybe it was because of James' charms softening her up or that kiss she'd given Caius – Though the latter was merely sealing a deal rather than an act of pleasure or affection.

She was returning tonight to begin work. She was supposed to be working as entertainment in the 90s' area of the club. She had brought a small clutch with her, strutting down the street with swaying hips in a tight dress that was dangerously close to rising up and showing a bit more flesh in the back than was acceptable in society. She didn't mind. She was out to draw attention to herself tonight. Plush lips painted blood red were curled into a coy, fanged smirk as matching ruby eyes glimmered under the moonlight. She could hear the sounds of excited vamps and humans alike as she neared the club, though one person in particular caught her gaze. The voluptuous woman increased her pace as she approached the bartender, her black heels clicking against the asphalt and rocks giving her away.

“Miss me?”

Hearing the scattering of gravel, James turned around to spot Lyndi, and she was stunning. Her outfit accentuated all the right parts of her, and her beauty was beyond eye-catching. At first, his mouth drooped slightly, but it was quickly replaced by a cool smile. He stood, waiting for her with his right arm extended to her.
"How could I not, lovely?"

His eyes ran up and down her body multiple times, attempting to take all of her in. There goes all that concentration I'd hoped to regain. When she approached him, he took her hand in his, giving it a gentle kiss. She must've been hired, considering she'd returned; James didn't think she was the type to do things without reason.

"So you will be gracing my eyes with your beauty tonight as well, ange?"

Ah, his charm remained. She lifted a well groomed brow as he placed a kiss on her hand, letting herself slide closer to him. They were close enough now that if she would – for whatever odd reason – breathe, every inhale would cause her ample chest to rise and brush against him. She was not a tall person, her three inch heels boosting her up so that they were even in height. “You are too kind, James.” As she withdrew her right hand, she placed it upon her hip and pitched her left side up with her right knee bent a bit in an age-old pose. “I've agreed to a one week trial period. If I like it, I'll stay. I get the club badge and everything,” she teased. Her tone was playful, her red eyes glimmering with a unique innocent seduction that she had perfected over the centuries, a look that had won over countless men and women.

She moved closer – as impossible as it seemed – so that they were pressed against one another, now moving her left hand to drag a well-manicured nail down his arm slowly, pausing to give his biceps a gentle squeeze. There was excitement in her eyes – partially feigned though played perfectly as fully sincere – as she admired the man. “How could I turn down an offer to work alongside such a man as yourself, mon amour?”

James softly chuckled, fully noting that her bosom as well as the rest of her body was pressed against him. This woman...she really knows how to use her art of seduction. Though he knew she was attempting to entice him, he refused to admit that it was working. As she trailed her nail down his arm, his thoughts somehow migrated back to Ada. A pang of something like guilt hit him, making him take a half step away from her. He turned back to the club, putting her left arm through his right and grasping her hand.

"Oh, now you're being the one that's far too kind, belle. You flatter me. And a week trial period, huh?"

A trial period was a nice way to put it. So he had a week to convince her to stay here... this could make to be one very interesting week. James leaned in to her ear, speaking barely above a whisper.

"I intend to make you long to stay here with me, and since I have a week to do so, I'll do my best to make it interesting."

The half-step back did not go unnoticed by the older vampire. Lyndi merely allowed him to guide her arm to his as they began to walk towards the club again, others passing them by as they went at a slow pace. A smirk flickered across her lips as he whispered into her ear, letting her head turn so that his lips brushed against her cool flesh. “Are you sure your human won't get too jealous?” There was some teasing in her tone, hiding the irritation she felt. James seemed like a fine young vamp. But, as it is with many young Vampires, he seemed to still have a weird attachment to humans. Honestly, she couldn't say anything about it. She'd slaughtered an entire Coven in Nebraska to protect Cheveyo. She claimed that it was solely to protect her honor and reputation. But she knew that she'd kill everyone and everything she saw if anything ever happened to him, especially if it was because of her.

That was information that she'd never reveal to anyone. Not even Cheveyo himself.

She kept a cool outer appearance, offerings winks and occasionally running her tongue over her fangs for the desire of those catcalling and whistling to her as she passed them by. “I can tell she doesn't like me – I'd hate to come between you and your girlfriend.” When Lyndi wanted something, she got something. She barely knew James so she couldn't say in truth that she gave a shit about him as anything more than good company. However, acquiring allies was a must in her profession. She knew how to play people as well as she knew how to play the violin. Her acting was flawless and few could resist her. She most certainly would not lose out to some bloodsack. She pulled away from James with an expression of what was utter disappointment, giving a shrug. She spoke no more words but her body language and face said it all; Sorry, but I guess we can't be friends. She gave a forlorn half smile and turned to walk away from him slowly, counting in her head to see how long it would take before he'd reach out.

1...2...

Girlfriend. The word struck James, making him stop completely. After the events last night and what happened between him and Ada, he couldn't even fathom when he'd be seeing her again, much less her becoming his. As Lyndi pulled away from him, he watched her face and body. When she started to walk away, James thought to himself; he had to make a choice. Considering the position she'd been given, he knew Lyndi was an actress, just as he was, but even if this was just a performance, the chances of somehow getting her were still there. Would he try again to grasp a hold of Ada? So much came with that besides the weird moments they'd have together. There was also the fact that she is human, unlike him. He'd put up with the slightly odd treatment he'd gotten from other vamps before, but if he made her his, there'd be more than just a few sideways glances.

James sighed and took Lyndi's hand. He couldn't let her slip from him as well. Though he knew she gave a great performance, he knew that there was, once again, a reason behind it. She wouldn't have done so if she didn't want him to bite, and he wanted to oh so badly.

"Oh come now, chere. Don't leave me here in the cold."

He pulled her close to him, like they were earlier and put a hand on her lower back. James wanted her to know that she wouldn't be intruding if she continued with him. In fact, it'd be quite the opposite.

...3...4...5

Lyndi withheld a smirk, keeping her face naive as he took her hand and pulled her close. There was tangible sexual tension between the two now and the look in her eyes suggested that she was going to rip his clothes off at the drop of a hat. As his hand moved to her lower back, her hands moved to cup his face gently. “So, why don't you give me a reason to stay.” Her tone was suggestive, her Icelandic timbre slipping up through the American accent as she bit down on her bottom lip, her fang just barely piercing her flesh. Inside, she was smirking. It wasn't usually this... quickly that she could genuinely steal a man away from a woman. Or a woman from a man. Most would take some time - minutes, hours, days - to trouble themselves with thoughts about the damage they'd do to the other person before they'd succumb to her. She drew the conclusion that James was a lover and that he was the type to fall hard and fast. Just like Leo. She wondered then... How long would it take for her to get him to Leo's level of adoration for her.

James smiled seductively and leaned in close. Then he took Lyndis hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it almost chastely. Though her eyes told him different, there wouldn't be any tearing of clothing soon. He looked into her eyes with a wide grin.

"Ready to unwrap your gift so quickly? Your week barely has gotten started. You wouldn't want to ruin the rest of your trial period would you?

He knew Lyndi had the power to get whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted, but James wasn't going to give in so quickly. He kept a bit of himself reserved, making sure that he was making the correct choice. Besides, it'll be a challenge to make her wait, and he was sure she wouldn't disappoint either. He positioned her as he'd done before, but this time he brushed his lips against her neck as he turned her. "Don't ruin the fun, Lyndi."

He was challenging her. Perhaps there was a bit more to him. This elicited her usual smirk, her head canting to the side as his fangs made contact with her flesh. “Not even a taste just to get me to stay for the night?” She pouted a bit, her bottom lip quivering ever so slightly as the wind whipped her hair about with the night growing colder. “Just a tiny kiss?” Ah, the kiss. An art that Lyndi knew far better than most. She was a woman who didn't care if she had to use her body to get what she wanted and she knew exactly how to give people what they wanted. A kiss from her bound you to her and left you craving more. She couldn't deny that she enjoyed kissing people simply for the feel of it. Cold as she was, she had her own physical desires just as others. And James had some really nice lips.

James smiled shaking his head. There was no such thing as a tiny kiss with a woman like her. He gazed at her full, pouty lips longingly. He could only imagine how many had fell victim to those lips. Oh if he could, he would, but he knew that would seal his fate. He instead turned her head to the side and kissed her neck deeply, holding the opposite side to deepen the kiss even more. He then tugged on the skin slightly and licked it. If it was a kiss she wanted, she got it, though he was almost sure she wouldn't be completely happy with where it was placed.
"Like I said, let's not unwrap your gift too early chere."

Oh.

He was good.

There was no sexual pleasure as he worked her neck. The feeling that swelled through her could be compared to that feeling a cat gets when you scratch in just the right spot behind their ears. Her hands had moved to his waist, gripping a bit tightly before she released. Perhaps reeling him all the way in wouldn't be so easy. Fair enough. Giving a smile, she pulled back and chuckled softly, a genuine chuckle. “I can see why you're a liaison specialist.” Her voice was a purr now as she took his hand and lead him through the crowd that had formed while they engaged in their game. It had been a while since she had found proper adversaries to her charms and games. She might just have to stay after all. She smiled to herself as she pushed past the people blocking the way while bouncers identified them, easily getting inside. Once inside, she turned to James and placed a hand out to stroke his face gently, applying some affection and enchantment into her gaze. “I'll come see you between breaks, yeah?”

James smiled as she lead him inside. He'd shown her why he was one of the best liaison specialists here, he'd earned it, just like she'd have to earn that kiss. He gazed at her as she stroked his face. He then pulled it to his lips once more, this time gently nipping it.

"I'll be waiting, ma belle."

James let go of her hand, smiling once again, and left to find his post for the night. It was time to get that concentration back and to get to work. Besides he'd find plenty of time to figure out how to make this week as fun as possible.

Ada couldn’t keep her mind off of the night before. She walked down the street, hunching her shoulders to block some of the cold night air but none of it really mattered because she was happy. The small smile wouldn’t leave her face. Honestly she’d promised herself a long time ago that she wouldn’t ever feel this way about another man but here she was. Damn that James. A small part of her wondered if he’d notice the extra bit of effort she put into getting ready tonight. Her hair was left down instead of hastily pulled back into a ponytail. Her usual attire of a man’s button up and sad looking jeans was gone; instead she wore a properly fitted red blouse, vampires liked this color for obvious reasons, and black dress pants with some nice shoes. No she’d never match up to the other glimmering wardrobe the other women in the club wore but she thought she looked pretty damn good!

As she neared the bustling club she could swear she saw James and, was that the blonde bitch from yesterday? Hastily, Ada moved into an alleyway and eavesdropped as the two cozied up to one another. The more that was said between the two, the bigger the lump in her throat grew.

“I can tell she doesn't like me – I'd hate to come between you and your girlfriend.”

Ada’s brow wrinkled in anger as the woman pushed James, trying to make him…make him do what? Did she want him as her own? Something else? For a beat it seemed as if James wouldn’t respond to the woman’s game but then he grabbed her and asked her to stay. Ada’s grip on the corner of the wall she hid behind tightened. No, James, I trusted you.

It wasn’t long before Lyndi was asking for a kiss and Ada couldn’t tear her eyes away as James necked her. She completely deflated; the happiness was gone, utterly sapped from her. I fucking trusted you. She no longer watched or listened to them; enough had been seen and heard. How could she be so stupid? Every man was the same and they always wanted one thing. It was all she’d ever be good for apparently, James had proven that. She wasn’t even smart enough to see through him. In an instant her deflated state ended and she was filled with the all too familiar feeling of rage. In one move swift movement she gave the hard wall a hard right hook and brought back bloodied knuckles.

“Fuck! Assholes are gonna smell this for sure. Godamn, motherfucking..”

As she continued to string along obscenities, she tore one of the frills from her red blouse to wrap around her bloodied hand. It wasn’t like she was trying to impress anyone anymore. This would hide the sight and the smell, at least for a little while. With a breath of determination, Ada walked from her hiding place and into the club.

Brusquely, Ada moved through the crowd, shoving and pushing as she pleased. One newcomer got a bit too much in her way and she gave the spectacled man a hard shove.

“Move fuckface!”

Yea, that was refreshing. Her face was set in irritation as she moved about, sticking as far away from the bar as she possibly could and rebuffing any vampires that tried to get a nibble. She still reported for duty as usual but she was having fucking none of it tonight.

There was tension between he and Claudia. It did not seem like she wanted to create it, but he could sense it in her tone. He had a way with understanding tone. Hell, that was what had earned him the job in the first place. She did put forth the effort, when he finally entered, to gently encourage him further in rather than shout at him. He was grateful for that. For a moment at least.

Scotty hardly had his thoughts about him when he was suddenly barreled into. A combination of her force and his unpreparedness sent him into the nearby wall, which he suddenly pushed his palm against to steady himself. "Move, fuckface!" she growled as she passed. Flashbacks to recess in elementary school. Scotty pushed himself upright and adjusted his glasses. "Well -- fuck you, too!" Yeah. That was smooth. Smooth as fricking sandpaper. He looked back at Claudia, face red enough to make a tomato jealous. "Sorry...there's just a lot going on."

The agent looked about again, pushing his glasses once more into place. Perhaps the bartender would be good to speak to. The bar was across the room, and there was a man already working it though the crowd still seemed quite thin. It was growing quickly, however, pushing Scotty and Claudia into the room. It was then that he noticed the massive man at said bar. Suddenly, speaking to the bartender didn't seem like such a good idea anymore.

"I guess we'll look around a bit?" he said to Claudia, though it sounded much more like a question than he wanted it to. "You can lead. I'll follow." In truth, he simply had no idea where he was going. There were so many people. Too many people. And they all seemed to watch him and Claudia with a glint of something in their eyes.

Hunger?

Cheveyo tilted his head towards James before looking behind him at the drinks. “I will take some water if you have some back there, please.” His tone was polite and his timbre heavy with Hopi accent. Behind him, Leo watched carefully from the shadows with Caius before the old Vampire's head snapped to the left some. A sweet scent wafted under his nostrils and he could not help but to smile. He moved to take a step but stopped short at the sight of Ada storming through the crowd and damn near pushing over everyone who came near her. His red eyes flickered to see Lyndi watching the female and then glancing to Leo with a smirk. “A moment, dear friend.” He put on a stern expression as he moved through the crowd after patting Caius on the back, Vampires and humans alike parting for the Prelate as he made his way towards Ada. He soon lost sight of Cheveyo as he crossed the room but it didn't matter. Neither James or Lila would allow anything to happen to him. Lyndi was here, he could sense it. She wouldn't either. For now, Ada was his concern. He gave no warning as his super speed kicked in, flitting to her as she came into view. He was at her throat in an instant. He made sure to keep his grip light enough that he didn't crush her windpipe but tight enough that he was asserting his dominance and irritation.

“I don't know what your problem is. I don't give two fucks what your problem is. But you do not bring it here. You're an employee. Less than that, you're a human. You keep your fucking personal life at home because nobody here gives a shit. Fighting is one thing. It's entertaining. But this bullshit is unacceptable. Suck that shit up and get over it or go the fuck back home and cry there. Understood?” Heads turned as he pinned her to a wall, baring his fangs to her. His usually nonchalant tone and charming air was gone as he now gave of a dangerous and cutthroat vibe. Leo normally didn't police Ada other than breaking up her fights. He had given her a few unpaid weeks off work for harassing the more prestigious Vampires, caring little who she thought was right and who was wrong. He put up with her attitude because she generally knew when she was crossing a line. However, he could not put up with humans bringing their personal issues to work. They lost customers when they had their humans off crying in corners and running around like angst ridden teens. He had sworn fealty to Caius, but more than that, Caius was his friend. This Coven was his family even though there were a few who irritated him. This club was their business and their home. It was their temple. It would be a cold day in Tartarus before he would let some human with a shit attitude give this place a bad name. Vampires who could not control their humans were seen as weak. Since she was employed by them, she was theirs.

He gave her throat a final squeeze, letting her know that it wasn't a game. He considered a friend – Or about as much of a friend as he'd allow a human to be, more in the sense of a pet – But his ties to his Doyen and his Coven ran deeper. He would not have Caius or any of the other Vampires thinking lower of him because of his inability to control her. He let her get away with fights because they were normally with drifters and other humans. But his foot was coming down. Lyndi was here and if he was going to impress her and win back her respect and loyalty, he wasn't going to do it with his demonstration of unruly humans. “You can and you will be replaced, human. Put on a smile and go back to doing what you do best – Giving blood and fighting fights you know you can't win.” He released her roughly, letting her drop to the floor. He turned around, not caring whether or not she landed on her feet or crumpled to the ground. He was met by Lyndi, stopping as he took in her image. She looked... So lovely tonight. She was observing him as she so often did once before, though she held no affection in her eyes this time. She leaned to the left some, peeking behind him at Ada with a light look of amusement flickering across her face. “You run a tight ship, Captain. You'd probably be better off getting rid of her... But you always did like the chihuahuas... I'm singing a song for you tonight.” Her red eyes gleamed as she turned and headed for the stage, his eyes following her. He quickly and subtly readjusted his jeans before moving back to Caius. “I apologize for the wait. Lyndi says she's got a song for me. I promise I will take you to Leandra the moment it ends.”

He turned to see that she had already taken the stage, a light smile on his face. He had hopes that his worry and fear was for naught, that she had perhaps forgiven him already. He was her Maker, after all.

Lyndi smiled as the crowd cheered now that the show was beginning. The blue spotlight hit her and she lifted her chin. There was a sharp, reflexive intake of breath and a momentary flicker of confusion across her face as she spotted Cheveyo waving to her from the bar. Her gaze then went to Leo standing with Caius. Oh... She was truly going to enjoy this. She closed her eyes and took the mic as the band began to play behind her. She counted herself in before opening her eyes and allowing feigned emotion play across her face and seep into her voice as she sang. ♫“Cryin' on the corner, waitin' in the rain. I swear I'll never, ever wait again. You gave me your word but words for you are liiies.”♫ She let her gaze flicker over to Leo, seeing the embarrassment in his eyes as he realized what song it was, quickly leaving with Caius. She would have sung louder but she didn't much need to. She had made her point and struck his heart. She had no need to turn it into something petty. ♫“Darlin', in my wildest dreams I never thought I'd gooo. But it's time to let you know. I'm gonna harden my heart. I'm gonna swallow my teeaars. I'm gonna turn and leave you heeerrre. All of my life, I've been waitin' in the rain. I've been waitin' for a feeling that never, ever came. It feels so close but always disappears. Darlin', in your wildest dreams, you never had a clue. But it's time you got the news. I'm gonna harden my heart. I'm gonna swallow my tears. I'm gonna turn and leave you here.”♫ The crowd cheered as she swayed them with the pain in her voice, now moving about the stage and using her free hand to play it up, her hand over her heart. Her voice was sweet but powerful and she could not help but to feel... At home. It had been many years since she had been on a stage.

Her number was over and there were four more performances before her next one. She stepped down from the stage and made her way to the bar, graciously accepting the compliments paid to her. But she was in a rush. The moment she set eyes on her shirtless Native American, she could not help but to smile. Cheveyo stood and wrapped her in a tight hug. “Lyndi... It's been forever.” The large lummox of a man was on the verge of sobbing, his bottom lip quivering as he pouted and salty tears sliding down his cheeks. Lyndi's expression was much gentler than it had been in a long time. She reached up and brushed the tears away gently before taking a seat with him at the bar, seeing the glass of untouched water. “Let me guess: Leotychides brought you here to persuade me to stay.” She smirked as Cheveyo nodded to confirm it. Lyndi sighed and looked off nowhere in particular as she thought. This could certainly complicate things. She fully intended to continue playing her game of gathering allies by wrapping as many of the men around her fingers as she could... But Cheveyo. He hadn't seen her in some time and was likely to be overflowing with desire for the affection she once shared with him. If anyone were witness to this, it would ruin that. It would be difficult enough going for men that were all in the same Coven. Adding a human to the mix would just sully her name and destroy her reputation. She wasn't sure if she was a bit excited for the challenge to her skills or frightened. Nah. She wasn't scared. Of all the things a Vampire could and would do, being a bit on the polygamous side while not telling the people involved was hardly a thing to bat one's eye at. It wasn't like she was going to make them fall in love with her. She just needed them to lust for her.

Except James and Leo. Leo, she could do nothing about. But she knew that once Leo had believed she had forgiven him he wouldn't care whether or not she was in love with him. She knew that he just wanted their relationship as Maker and Progeny to be repaired. James... She knew that she might have to put some effort into actually wooing him if she was going to sever his romantic and sexual ties with Ada. She didn't like the human – The blood slave had no place in the world that she was creating. She eventually came back down from her thoughts and turned to Cheveyo. “Things are a bit different than they were those years ago. … Much different.” She conversed to him in his native tongue, putting emphasis on her words so that he understood. He understood her better than most and gave a nod. It broke his heart some but he knew that perhaps he could change her mind or work something out. He had never mind sharing her – He shared Lyndi with his sister when Cho was alive. And they both knew that she had other partners that she used for personal and political gain as well. It wasn't something that bothered him. But... he knew what other Vampires would think of the strange relationship they had. Lyndi gave a nod before bringing him close. Her lips brushed his neck, sending a shiver down his spine. She reveled in his scent before biting down gently. She took a few moments to take some of his blood before releasing him. “You should go dance and make friends... I know you want to.” Their reunion was short lived and not quite as romantic or even sentimental as he had hoped it would be. But it was to be expected when it was so public.

He gave a nod, proudly moving towards the dance floor with his quirky and rather spastic dance moves. She shook her head with a soft laugh before setting her gaze on James. “Je vais prendre un O nég végétarien Four Horsemen.” She gave him a beautiful and fanged smile and a wink, placing her hands on the bar. Leo, meanwhile, had taken Caius and made his way to find Leandra. He was still upset and embarrassed at the song that Lyndi had dedicated to him. He shook the memory from his mind as he followed her scent -- and her text -- to the dressing room that he had interviewed her in the previous night. He pushed the door open and smiled as he greeted her, moving to take the hand she was using to rub at her neck and pressed her palm to his lips. “Lovely Leandra, I would like you to meet Caius. He is the Doyen of our Coven, our Leader, as well as the owner of this establishment. I fear that he has some doubts of your performance despite all the praise. He would like to see you dance tonight. Perhaps you have another beautiful number prepared?” He gave her his most charming smile as he moved a little closer, still keeping his hold on her hand while motioning to his brooding friend. He glanced down at her neck and resisted biting her then and there, though he knew that he needed to bite her soon.

Scotty seemed nice but tense. He looked like the kind of person who was having a hard time in life. Claudia knowing how life was she knew that she had a hard time also. But she wasn't wanting to think about herself. The chewing seemed to stop and she was sure damn grateful for that. "Do you feel like someone is watching us?" She asked not in a worried tone but just in a question-like-conversation-question.

Claudia had an irky feeling and she did not appreciate it one bit. She thought it was creepy but as they were walking someone said something to Scotty and it made her a tad angry that she was so rude. She decided to say something since it was making her cranky. "Why don't you move FUCKFACE!!!" She was a tad angry and heard the response from Scotty. "Good one! That was not nice of her at all."

Claudia walked around looking at people as they walked past or people were busy with someone or other. Claudia was a very good listener and listened as people spoke about this girl or this person it was all very interesting. She turned to Scotty who now said something which she missed. "Pardon?" Claudia listened as he seemed to say something else. "Sure why not?" Claudia began to walk and looked through the crowds she sort of walked through not saying excuse me or anything it wasn't in her type of character to say or do something like that. "Who should we talk to?"

Caius also noted the sweet scent of Ada's bleeding wound, but he held himself back with very little change in his expression. He also sensed her attitude even before she slammed herself into another being. Caius nodded in response to Leo as the Spartan moved through the crowd. He, in turn, took the seat Leo left vacant. Without even speaking with Leo, Caius knew what the older vampire had in mind. He certainly would have moved in too if Leo hadn't. Caius simply blinked as Leo clutched her throat. It served her right, for an attitude often turned off the vampires who frequented the club, and Caius certainly couldn't have that.

Caius tried to make eye contact with Ada, hoping she would see that this was his doing, deep down. He didn't even need to lift a finger to punish her. He could see the tendons in Leo's arm tighten as his hand also tightened about her throat. How dare she think she was above them in anyway? How dare she think she could bring her problems here? Humans certainly weren't good for much more than feeding from. Finally, she was released, and Leo began to make his way back to Caius -- only to be stopped by Lyndi. They spoke to each other, and Caius certainly wasn't surprised, for it had been Leo who originally requested that Lyndi be invited to join his Coven.

Again, he nodded while looking toward the stage. "Understood." And it was, for if it were Lydia who had approached him, Caius knew he would have been unable to leave either. There was already a confident air about her as she took the stage. The blue spotlight gave her scarlet dress a purplish hue instead. He could have sworn that there was a hint of something across her visage, but it passed almost as quickly as he had noticed it, so he paid no mind to it.

He pinpointed the song within the first few notes. Harden My Heart. Quarterflash. It was a tune he had not heard in years, for it often was not a request in the club. Her eyes flickered open as her voice came in. Oh, it was beautiful. He had not heard a voice like hers in ages perhaps. Rindy Ross had a wonderful voice, but Lyndi quickly put her to shame. Leo had walked off, but Caius remained, his lips parting and his fangs showing as he let her voice shake him to the bone. Her voice flawlessly rose on the last notes of the chorus, sending a shiver down his spine.

He tore himself away as the guitar solo began, but Caius could hear her singing the refrain once more. Was it possible to fall in love with a voice or at least fall for someone because of their voice? If it were, he had. But now, he shook the thought from his head and retracted his fangs once more as Leo opened Leandra's door. He removed his leather jacket then and folded it over his left arm. His outfit below was quite similar to the one he had worn yesterday: tight jeans tucked into dark boots and a band shirt with the sleeves unevenly cut off. This time, however, he wore a shirt with Jim Morrison emblazoned across it. Once, he had tried to copy the hair style of The Doors' singer, but his hair lacked the volume necessary to achieve Jim's boyish waves.

He followed Leo in, but he kept a few steps back as the vampire greeted the human. There was, quite obviously, a similarity between she and Lyndi, and Caius wondered if perhaps she too reminded Leo of the blonde vampire. When Leo gestured towards him, Caius simply nodded and took the same hand Leo had taken. He pressed the back of it gently against his lips. His fangs just barely poked out between them, brushing against the skin as he moved the kiss very slightly up her hand before letting go of her hand. "Good evening," he said, his typical English accent mixing with one that sounded vaguely Southern. It would only seem odd to Leandra, of course, for his Coven was used to the ever-changing accents in which he spoke.

"Leotychides speaks highly of you. Hopefully, by the end of the night, I shall too."

James smiled and nodded. “Sure thing.” He turned around, tossing a few cubes of ice into a glass and pouring some water into it. He sat it down in front of the large man and continued to attend to the other customers while still keeping an eye on him. If someone managed to take a bite out of him while he was under James’s watch, he’d catch it from Leo. The thought itself was thoroughly unpleasant.

After taking care of another customer, James heard some commotion and looked up to see Ada storming through the crowd. Just from a glance at her, James could tell she was completely pissed. Stuff like this wouldn’t likely go by well with any of the higher ups, especially Leo. His first instinct was to hop over the counter and subdue Ada before someone else had a chance to, but… James looked back at the man at the bar. He couldn’t lose sight of him, and James knew that Ada was too far away for him to get her and watch him at the same time. James could only watch as Leo sped to her, and put his hand around her throat.

James’s fists tightened slightly, wanting to go protect her, but he knew that Leo wouldn’t kill her. He’d just scare her for now. Damn it, cheré… Feeling a bit helpless he watched the scene, hoping it’d end quickly. Once Ada was released, James once again had to urge to go get her, but the vampire the man was waiting for hadn’t arrived yet. Shit! James watched Ada for a bit more, then reluctantly returned to his duties. He filled drinks as vamps and blood slaves readied themselves for a show.

James turned to see Lyndi on the stage smiling at her audience. To James’s surprise, the bulk of a man that he was supposed to be watching waved eagerly at Lyndi, and by the look that crossed her face, she definitely knew him. Was she who he was waiting for? This had begun to get a bit…interesting. So she also had a human in her life that she was familiar with. He also watched as she looked at Leo before she began to sing. Oh so she knows Leo as well?

Image
James sat back and listened to the song. Her voice was beautiful and the audience loved it…except Leo. He observed as Leo became increasingly uncomfortable and escorted Caius out of the room. Oh so the song’s about Leo. James chuckled lightly to himself, wondering how deep their ties ran.

When the song ended, he clapped and cheered along with the crowd as she made her way over to the bar. James, pretending to be busy with drinks, watched as the man wrapped his arms around Lyndi. The look on her face was so gentle, so genuine. That gave her away. It was obvious that she had feelings for him, and he absolutely loved her. She wiped tears from his face and sat with him. James grinned to himself as he poured drinks and pieced together this puzzle of a woman. First, she had deep ties to Leo, and apparently they aren’t on good terms as of right now. Second, Lyndi had a human that she had serious feelings for, maybe even loved. His thoughts wandered back to Ada. He felt horrible about not being able to do anything to help her when she needed him. He really needed to talk to her as soon as he could.

james waited until they’d finished talking in another language before glancing back at the pair. He witnessed her place a very intimate bite on the man’s neck. That merely confirmed what he thought. He turned away as she instructed for him to go dance.

“Je vais prendre un O nég végétarien Four Horsemen.”

James turned around pulling the liquids from the shelves and mixing them. He smiled at her and served up the drink. As he sat the drink in front of her, James brushed his fingers along her jaw. “Your drink ma ange.” She was quite beautiful, and he knew it’d be hard to resist her. However, what he’d just seen made him want to try to reel her in closer. He wanted to know more about this mysterious woman.

He was too busy looking about in curiosity to even think about being watched by anyone. Either way, he wasn't even planning to turn around to look at anyone besides Claudia. "I dunno," he said, shrugging a shoulder as he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose once more. He had had a plan when they left the office earlier that day, but it seemed to have suddenly gone to ruin. How could they have ever thought they would be able to achieve anything by simply waltzing into the building? Did he really think someone would tell him about the human trafficking they were chasing?

He finally looked back at Claudia in surprise when she shouted back at the huffy woman. To be quite honest, he had hardly expected that out of her. Not that he thought she was soft spoken, because she certainly wasn't, but because he had assumed they would be trying to lay low. Still, no one seemed to pay any mind to them. Scotty, instead, watched the woman storm off, only to be intercepted roughly by a man. He had moved so quickly that Scotty had no idea where he had even come from. And then he was...baring his teeth at her? No, that certainly wasn't what he was doing. The man was simply snarling something at her, scolding her for something, but his grip seemed so tight. Too tight. There was something about it, the way he spoke down to her, that seemed to unnerve him at least slightly.

Scotty turned to look at Claudia then as she asked him where to start, but instead, he found himself fixating on a couple a few people away. Two women seemed to kiss each other, but that wasn't what struck him as odd, of course. He was bisexual himself. No, instead, he noticed their outfits first. One wore a modern cocktail dress of blood red, and the other was dressed as a...flapper? But this wasn't a costume party. He looked about then, and suddenly he seemed to notice other outfits that simply didn't fit the time period. His gaze once more fell on the couple, just in time to see the flapper's fangs distend and bury themselves into the other's neck.

And now he looked about him. As if what he had just seen had awakened a third eye in him, he began to notice other couples doing the same thing. He noticed others walking about with drinks. Blood red drinks.

Blood red.

Blood.

What the fuck was this? What kind of sick twist owned this place? This wasn't at all what he had signed up for: to raid some sort of club for people with vampire fetishes or something. The way he stared at the couple would most likely alert Claudia, but he suddenly stopped staring as he began to feel eyes figuratively piercing him. He looked about and swallowed nervously as red eyes met his own gaze.

"Claudia...we need to go. Now. It's...it's weird here." He spoke softly, but something told him it made little difference, for a few seemed to smirk at him.

It was only within the blink of an eye when Leo was upon her, his hand clenched around her throat. She made a sneering face and grabbed his wrist, writhing about despite knowing how futile it was. If he wanted to he was completely capable of killing her right here and now, but she knew he wouldn’t. Defiantly she glared at his face as he scolded her like a child, no not even that, an animal. She thought it was a bit humorous honestly, he was telling her to not be emotional and yet his own coven leader was one of the most emotional, brooding things she’d ever laid eyes on. He released her and she stumbled, coughing, almost falling to her knees. Immediately her hand went to her throat and massaged the now bruising flesh. Her eyes bore into Lyndi as she mocked from behind Leo, fuckin’ bitch.

The commotion was soon over and that’s how it usually happened here. Everyone went back to business and Ada stood, anger bubbling over as she rubbed her neck. Mother fucking, cock sucking..the insults strung on and on in her head as she glared out at the crowd of vampires now watching a female dance on stage. Fine, she could play nice. Checking the wrapping on her scraped knuckles and satisfied with the work, she trudged into the crowd once again.

Her façade of niceness was sickeningly sweet as she spoke to the customers, yes, of course sir..anything for you madame, for anyone who knew Ada it was obvious that it was completely fake but hell it worked wonders and would keep Leo off her back until she could clock out of this hell hole for the day. As her eyes scanned the crowd there was a new face, something off about it, that drew her attention. She furrowed her brow in confusion and edged closer to the spectacled man, realizing it was the fellow from earlier that she’d barged into. He seemed panicked, ready to flee, wanting to escape. Oh fuck.

The realization hit her like a ton of bricks, it was an unwitting human that had wandered in. Good! Great! Let him go and squawk to the world! Bring more humans in here and tear this place down at its very foundation! The more she thought about it, the more she realized how bad of an idea that would be. One, James would be in trouble along with the rest of the coven and despite how much she hated the lot of them she couldn’t see him hurt, even if she was infuriated with him at the current moment. Two, there was the fact that she’d probably go down with this place too.

“Jesus take the wheel one thing after another.”

She plastered on a smile and placed herself in his direct line of view. Distraction, distraction, distraction. Keep him here until one of the others can deal with him.

“Hey there! I just..wanted to come and apologize for running into you earlier. Why don’t you let me buy you a drink, hm?”

She grabbed his wrist and gave him a tug, hoping he’d play along and hoping his little girl friend would just trot on with them.
