The Prince, as per his title, must keep himself somewhat presentable at all times. He usually wears darker colors, to bring out his darker features. He doesn't care for the lighter shades of colors anyway, and is glad he isn't required to wear them.

|Personality|
The Prince, like many in the fairytales, was raised to be proper, and loyal to his Kingdom. He is the stronger, older, and braver one than his younger brother, Leopold. Richmond is nervous about the idea of marriage, which is why his father arranged for them to be in charge of when it actually happens, sometime after the Princess's Father's death.

|History|
Richmond Conwyn is the eldest son in the Conwyn family, his brother Leopold, second in line by three years. The boys were raised up to be nice, honest men, who appreciated everyone in the Kingdom they ruled. Whether they be dirt poor, or filthy rich. Which both of the boys do, according to their father's standards.

His mother however, is an entirely different story. She had given birth to both of the boys, and was pregnant with their sister, when she suffered major complications, and died. They all remember the death horribly, and choose not to speak of her in such ways.

She was an intelligent, noble woman, whom the King had loved dearly with his heart. Thus creating the products of their true love, Richmond and Leopold.

Recently, Richmond has found out of the arranged marriage his Father had made for him which will be in effect soon. However, he's heard rumors of people who do not want him to marry the Princess, and have heard all sorts of ugly, horrible rumors. He can only hope the Princess will still want to marry him, even after the death of her Father recently.

So begins...

Arabella sat at her desk looking out the window, it was a warm day signalling that summer would be upon them soon. From where she sat she could see the Lords and Ladies of the court moving about their daily business. She sighed looking back down at the papers on her desk letting out a little yawn as she skimmed over them, there didn't seem to be anything urgent that she needed to deal with right away, but still her Court would want decisions and as quickly as possible.

"Come in." Arabella called softly upon hearing a gentle knock at her door, Arabella turned standing upon seeing the messenger who was now in her presence, she nodded her head respectfully when he bowed.

"A letter your Grace." Arabella smiled taking the letter thanking the man waiting for him to leave before returning to her desk, she recognized the hand writing on the front and smiled seeing that the letter was sealed by Richmond's seal.

'Meet me in the gardens' Arabella placed the parchment carefully on her desk, standing up smoothing the skirts of her dress before exiting the room, one of the many guards who stood posted around her room followed her, after a year she still wasn't used to one guard being with her at all times. Arabella smiled at all the people who bowed as she passed and greeted a few of the children who were in the castle that day, she absolutely adored the children she saw within the castle, they were all so carefree and innocent.

The Gardens had always been Arabella's favorite place, she spent as much time as she could there as possible, she knew the paths and trails off by heart and new exactly where Richmond would be, they always met at a marble bench in one of the more secluded sections of the Royal Gardens. She moved swiftly down the path and sure enough there he was.

"You wanted to see me?" Arabella smiled catching his attention, she moved to him giving him a gentle hug, they were always told to be careful about their public displays of affection if there were any, but no one ever came around to this section of the Garden so they were generally free of the constricting rules of the castle.

Richmond had woken early that morning, and sent a letter to his bride-to-be, to meet him in the gardens. He went on his way after handing off the letter, soon to be greeted by her loving presence.

"You wanted to see me?"

"Why of course, my dear. It is only your beauty that can fully prepare me for what obstacles lie ahead in the day to come. Is it wrong for a Prince to see the face of his bride?" He smiled charmingly, as a Prince should, sitting upon the marble bench, where he always sat when they met in the privacy of the gardens.

"Do tell me you'll spend your now free time composing that lovely music I've only heard people speak of. I long to hear your talents, for we are to be wed soon." Richmond smiled again, and took her hand in his, pressing his soft lips against her tender, smooth skin. "What do you have planned for such a lovely day as this one, my darling?"

"Why of course, my dear. It is only your beauty that can fully prepare me for what obstacles lie ahead in the day to come. Is it wrong for a Prince to see the face of his bride?" Arabella smiled taking a seat on the bench beside him.

"I am not technically your bride yet." Arabella corrected with a small sigh."I won't be until the time suites your parents" Arabella looked over at him, she could never understand how someone could look so calm all the time, but she supposed it had been drilled into the both of them, never to show any emotion.

"Do tell me you'll spend your now free time composing that lovely music I've only heard people speak of. I long to hear your talents, for we are to be wed soon." Arabella simply shook her head slightly laughing a little bit, he was such a flirt, but all men were. "Perhaps." Arabella started. "I will play something for you on our wedding night." Arabella's music was something spoken of among the people in the castle quite a bit as she had all three instruments in her room and the people who were in the hallways near by could hear her play, however her favorite had always been the Piano. It hadn't occurred to her however that she had never played for Richmond.

"I am not technically your bride yet. I won't be until the time suites your parents."

Richmond sighed as she corrected him, as she usually did when he talked of such things. "You are basically my bride. You are the only girl that is suitable. The only competitor." He meant in a friendly way, as if teasing.

"Perhaps. I will play something for you on our wedding night."

"But that is such a time away. Why not-" Richmond wanted to continue his sentence, but he released her hands as guards from his castle approached him. "Sir.. there is war with the neighboring kingdom, Kalwai! Leopold is being suited at this very moment!"

Richmond couldn't believe his ears at this odd news. "Kalwai? That is nothing but a peasant country! I demand to know what the reason for war is. They have no business in Talwen, or Padlin for that matter." The guard shook his head, the feather atop his helmet shaking. "I do not know, other than perhaps your future marriage, sire."

"This is complete nonsense. Does my father know of this?" The guard nodded respectively. Richmond turned to Arabelle. "Dearest, I must go with my brother, there's no way he'll be able to settle this alone. " He looked in her eyes.

Arabella jumped slightly when Richmond let go of her hand, the guard had startled her, but it was clear the man was out of breath, he must have ran. Arabella thought to herself. The news of war was enough to make Arabella feel sick. "Kalwai? That is nothing but a peasant country! I demand to know what the reason for war is. They have no business in Talwen, or Padlin for that matter." Richmond was right however Kalwai was a small country with very little power and influence over the world, though the idea of the worlds two strongest countries living in peace had worried many of the small nations, together their kingdoms were powerful enough to conquer many of the nations round about them. "Dearest, I must go with my brother, there's no way he'll be able to settle this alone. "

Arabella stood up at his words taking both his hands this time, she scanned his eyes, this was war they were talking about, Arabella knew Leopold would go, that's how Leopold was, but Richmond, Richmond was next in line for his Fathers throne, he was more important, there was no better way to make a statement then kill her Fiancee. "Richie..." Arabella whispered softly, she rarely used his nickname in front of anyone else, it was something she saved for closed doors. "This is war we are talking about, Kalwai might be a small nation but even small nations have powerful men, powerful soldiers...You could be killed. They will go after you, what better way to make a statement then to Kill the crown Prince of Talwen and the Fiancee of the Queen of Padlin." Arabella looked him in the eyes, it was clear to her that his mind seemed rather made up, if he was told to go with his brother he would, Arabella sighed, she knew there would be no changing his mind. "Just be careful, do not jump into this war if you do not have to." Arabella gently kissed his cheek standing on her toes to do so as Richmond was a few inches taller than her, she squeezed his hands. "Be Careful."

Richmond smiled as she used his nickname, and his eyes grew soft as she spoke to him, his cheek tingling after she kissed it. "Upon my fiance's orders, I will not go to war unless absolutely necessary." The guard nodded again, and dismissed himself.

Richmond nodded to his fiance, and scurried off to the stables, where his younger brother was in his armor, and saddling his steed. "Brother, please come home safely." Richmond pleaded, and Leopold nodded understandingly, hopping upon his horse, and reaching his hand out, shaking Richmond's. "Until I return, brother." Richmond saw him off, and returned to his fiance, smiling as he always did.

"Well, where were we? I do believe the war will be over soon enough. It's only one small country against ours." He charmingly smiled, and took her hands in his own again. "Shall we take a stroll in the garden and talk of nonsense as you like?"

"Well, where were we? I do believe the war will be over soon enough. It's only one small country against ours. Shall we take a stroll in the garden and talk of nonsense as you like?" Arabella laughed slightly taking his arm resting her hand in the crease of his elbow. "Is that what are conversations are now, nonsense?" Arabella teased with her classic smile, she was often told her smile could light up a room and that her laugh was contagious. "My sister wrote to me. She says the summer festival has started, it used to be my favorite festival when I was little, my parents couldn't keep me away from it, drove the guards insane as they would always lose me in the crowds." Arabella smiled at the memory. "When we are married, and have a children, we must take them."

"Your Grace." One of Arabella's advisers bowed in front of her when they stopped and looked at Richmond. "Your Majesty." He greeted with a bow of his head. "I apologize for the intrusion, but your Mother is insistent that you pass your judgement on the criminal cases of the month." Arabella continued walking glancing at Richmond slightly signalling for the Adviser to walk along side them. "I have already sent my Mother my rulings for the month, I understand that she wants the thief executed as he has stolen many times, but you must bring into account that he has a family and they lost everything in the uprising a few months ago, he is to spend three months in the cells and that is all." Arabella glanced at the Adviser. "That is my Final ruling, my mind will not be changed. If my Mother has further problems with my decision she can take them up directly with me." The man bowed respectfully. "Of course your Grace, I will in from her Majesty immediately."

Arabella sighed looking back at Richmond. "It seems we can never have a moment of piece without being disturbed by something, or someone." She laughed a little bit, it was in the job description.

"It seems we can never have a moment of piece without being disturbed by something, or someone."

Richmond laughed at her statement. "Why, Arabelle, that is why you must make most of the moments we do have." He smiled, and stopped their walking, to whistle loudly, his fingers echoing the sound.

After only a few moments, his show horse came into view from the stables. It had a rein on, and ran right up to Richmond. "Hey there girl. " He politely rubbed her head, and looked to Arabelle. "Ladies first." He grinned, and helped her up, then got on himself, him in front to lead the horse.

He rode them out to the lake far behind the castle, hardly the royals knew of it, much less the common folk in the villages. "Is it not a lovely view today?" He smiled, hopping off his horse, and then helping Arabelle down after tying the rein to a steady tree branch.

"Arabelle.." He began, and looked at her softly. "You know that I do care for you deeply, don't you?" He seemed innocent as he spoke.

"Ladies first." Arabelle smiled softly at Richmond raping her arms gently around his waist when he mounted in front of her.

Upon arriving at the lake Arabelle carefully slipped of the horse, with Richmond's help of course. "It is a beautiful view." Arabelle replied to his comment, she had always enjoyed being outside more than being cooped up in a castle all day, she often envied the village folk for that, they were always outside, they had a certain freedom she just did not have. Royals had many luxuries freedom despite common belief was not one of them.

"Arabelle.." Arabelle looked a Richmond a smile forming on her lips once again. "You know that I do care for you deeply, don't you?" Arabelle turned so that she was facing Richmond, she gently put a hand on his cheek. "Of course I know that Richie." Her reply was soft, almost childlike, but with a very innocent tone to it. Arabelle leaned up bringing her lips gently to his, they didn't kiss often, and when they did it was usually just a small peck for fear of someone seeing them, it wasn't that they weren't aloud to kiss, it was the simple fact the personal displays of affection were not to be seen by the people until after they were married.

"Of course I know that Richie."

And before he knew it, Arabelle was sucking the breath out of him. He wrapped his arms around her waist, meeting in the small of her back. Then, as he continued the kiss, his right hand traveling up her back and cupping her neck as he deepened the kiss ever so slightly, and enjoyed their moment.

"Oh Arabelle.." He sighed as they finally pulled away to keep their dignity. "I do not know why such a beautiful maiden as yourself could possibly want with a Prince like myself."

He ran his hand across her cheek, and gently kissed her forehead. "Shall we take refugee next to that tree?" He pointed to an oak with large roots out of the ground, large enough to seat the both of them, with Arabelle kinda on his lap.

Arabelle let out a small sigh a content smile adorning her face when they pulled away, she wished they could have moments like that all of the time, but there we rarely left alone. "Oh Arabelle...I do not know why such a beautiful maiden as yourself could possibly want with a Prince like myself." Arabelle closed her eyes when Richmond kissed her forehead. "You are more than just a Prince to me."

Arabelle nodded slightly at Richmond's suggestion to sit by the oak, she followed him over waiting for Richmond to sit. There was enough room for both of them as long as Arabelle sat on Richmond's lap, she moved carefully sitting down on him resting her head on his shoulder, she couldn't remember the last time they had, had so much time alone, just to be with one another, Arabelle looked up at him gently kissing his cheek once more. "I love you." She whispered softly in his ear resting her head back on his shoulder.

"You are more than just a Prince to me."

"Don't make me blush." He smiled, comically fanning himself as he lead her to the tree, where they sat and enjoyed a nice, long moment. He sat, just holding her in his arms. She was so light, yet her dress did cover him.

"I love you."

Richmond smiled, and felt his skin tingle as she kissed his cheek. "I love you to the greatest distance you can possibly think of, and back, without hesitation." He smiled wistfully, and placed a stray hair behind her ear.

"I swear to protect you and the Kingdom with my life. No matter what it takes." He whispered, his breath tickling at her neck, and skin. His hands met on her hip, resting there. There was no doubt of his feelings for Arabelle.

"I love you to the greatest distance you can possibly think of, and back, without hesitation." Arabelle leaned her head in his hand when he tucked the strand of blonde hair behind her ear, she usually had it up and out of the way, but to day she had told the hand maids to leave it down."I swear to protect you and the Kingdom with my life. No matter what it takes." Arabelle closed her eyes at the feeling of her breath against her neck, the moment seemed almost surreal, but there was no question, her feelings for Richmond, were as real as his for her.

Arabelle shifted sightly so she could look Richmond in they eye, she moved her hand to the back of his head entangling her fingers in his hair. "Well, we are both going to live a long life." Arabelle smiled. "And if there is an afterlife, I am sure we will live happily together there as well." Arabelle had a childlike look to the world that she never lost, she like the idea of living for an eternity with Richmond, she hated the Idea of living with out him.

Leaning forward Arabelle gently kissed him again, in that moment she was just a girl in love with a boy, no royalty, no politics, no people, they were completely alone, she felt completely at peace, like nothing in the world could hurt either of them.

"Well, we are both going to live a long life. And if there is an afterlife, I am sure we will live happily together there as well."

"Arabelle... " He smiled, laughing almost. His love for her was strong, even if it had just been a year. He couldn't have imagined it with anyone else. "You make my heart leap.." He said softly, in her ear. "With every word that escapes your soft lips.." He then pulled her closer, and closed the gap of their lips, sucking in all of her.

All of her scents, and textures of her dress coming to him, his fingertips brushing against her neck, cupping it as he explored her lips. He stopped only for a second to look into her addicting eyes, then continued, tempted to find his way up her dress, but concealed himself to just tightly holding her to him, not even straddling him.

Then, in the midst of their passion, a ear-threatening scream startled him, as a villager across the lake dropped her basket for water into the lake, upon seeing the royals in such a rare occassion. Richmond couldn't help but grin as he quickly carried Arabelle to the horse, then untied her, and rode off back towards the castle as the sun was starting to set anyway.

Arabelle jumped at the sound of the scream and almost let out a laugh, she held it in though until Richmond picked her up setting her on the horse, the sun was setting, they had been gone the whole day and their presence had probably been missed. Arabelle carefully slipped off the horse brushing her dress off. "We need to do that more often." She smiled, but she knew it would probably still be a rare thing that they only did once and a while.

By the time they had returned to the castle it was dark, the halls were lit by the flickering of the torches that had been recently lit, the castle had an eerie feel to it at night, the flames casting shadow like things that children would create into monsters. The walk to her room was a slow one, and she couldn't help but smile every time she glanced at Richmond. "Come in." Arabelle smiled taking his hand leading him into her room, she took a seat on the Piano bench inviting Richmond to sit beside her. She carefully pulled her hair over one shoulder resting her hands on the keys, the piano brought her a similar peace that Richmond did, she absaloutly loved the instrument.

Arabelle took a breath and began to play her movements along the keys gentle and graceful, when she stopped she took another breath and smiled looking over at Richmond. "You said you wanted to hear me play." Arabelle softly smiled at him.

"Come in. You said you wanted to hear me play."

Richmond didn't hesitate at the invitation quietly shutting her door behind them. He took the seat next to her on her piano bench, his head resting on her shoulder as she played. It was the most beautiful sound he'd ever heard, a tear even escaping his eye, and made him love her that much more, if it was possible.

When she finished, he had a sheepish grin on his face, and he buried his face into her neck, his arms now around her waist again, holding her in an embrace. "That was the most... beautiful thing I've ever heard." He blinked, his eyes moist still. "You're so talented, Arabella. And I love you more for it.." He spoke softly, and placed kisses from her neck to her lips, leaving a trail of passion.

"I cannot bear to wait until the day of our marriage. It is too far away, and my love for you grows with each breathe that fills my lungs." He spoke quietly, for fear of the maids catching him alone with his fiance was immoral. "Are you sure the maids won't come in at night, Bella?" He called her by his name for her, and still hugged her to him.

"That was the most... beautiful thing I've ever heard. You're so talented, Arabella. And I love you more for it.." Arabella smiled at his compliment, she had been told she was talented before, but it was different coming from Richmond. Her breath caught slightly the feeling of his lips against her neck sent tingles down her spine. When he reached her lips the kiss was short, to short for Arabella's liking.

"Are you sure the maids won't come in at night, Bella?" Arabella smiled at the use of her nickname. "I tell them not to, if I need something and ask they will, but if I don't they won't come in until the morning." Arabella looked at him curiously without breaking the embrace Richmond still held her in, she was now wondering why he had asked, if her maids would return in the night, but she didn't question him.

Richmond nodded, and held her as close as he could. "Are you tired, my dear? I can leave if you want to sleep." He spoke with pang of hurt, as he didn't want to leave her alone. Especially with the war now. He sat with a leg on each side of the bench, facing his fiance.

"I might need to leave... if you do not stop being so beautiful." He smiled, and looked at her lovingly. Then, his hands ran up her back, one landing on her back, the other her neck, his thumb rubbing her cheek.

"Are you tired, my dear? I can leave if you want to sleep. I might need to leave... if you do not stop being so beautiful." Arabella gently wrapped her arms around Richmond's neck, the movement immediately bringing them closer together. "Don't go. Arabella looked him right in the eyes. "You could stay the night and leave before my maids come in, in the morning." They hadn't spent a night in the same bed as they were not supposed to until they were married and there was a risk of someone finding them, but Arabelle wanted him to stay.

"Please stay." Arabella brought her lips to his, she took a breath parting for a moment before bringing their lips back together. Arabella moved her hands from around Richmond's neck, one running down his chest resting on his Abdomen, the other resting gently on his leg. Her worry of someone coming in nagged at her, but she knew no one would, Even with the worry she continued.

"Don't go. You could stay the night and leave before my maids come in, in the morning. Please stay."

Richmond nodded at her pleas, and was about to agree, when her lips were roughly placed on his his, and her hands were on his torso, and leg. His collar was stiff, and he loosened it, his muscular chest barely shining through the cream colored cloth of his shirt, which was open to right above his belly button.

His hand rested on hers on his leg, while the other was still cupping her neck, as he tried to please her as best he could with his lips, and not taking it to the next level. He may have been a charmer, but he was loyal, and faithful until his wedding day. "Every time.." He began, his breath fast. "I blink..." He opened his eyes, and looked at her. Speaking in a hushed tone, "You grow more beautiful.. and I fear.. if I close my eyes for too long.. that beauty will grow to be so gorgeous, that.. I won't even recognize you." He sheepishly grinned, and the hand that was resting on hers, grabbed her hand.

Then, in one swift move, he placed that hand on his chest, where his heart was, underneath his shirt, so she was touching his bare skin. "It only.. will ever... beat for the woman I gaze my eyes into before me." He bit his lip nervously, and then kissed the hand that had touched his heart.

"Come, Princess Arabella.. you must be exhausted." He stood slowly, and then taking his coat off, and hanging it on the bench, he swooped her up into his arms, and placed a kiss to her forehead, before lying her on the bed. "Oh.. must you prepare yourself for bed?" He asked innocently, having forgotten she might have a ritual before her slumber.

"Oh.. must you prepare yourself for bed?" Arabella smiled slightly sitting up, she had to change into her nightgown, she had slept in one of her dresses before and swore to never do it again. "I just need my nightgown." She replied standing up, she moved to the Piano gently closing the lid over the keys, then continued on to her wardrobe, she took out a thin white nightgown from among the many colorful dresses.

Arabella closed the wardrobe door moving behind the changing screen, she had never used it before and wasn't exactly sure why it was even in her room, but she supposed it was helpful it was there for the night. She emerged from behind it now more comfortable that she was out of the confining fabric of both her corset and her dress, she moved swiftly through the room back over to her bed pulling the covers back.

When Richmond got in beside her, Arabella moved resting her hand on his stomach and her head on his shoulder, he was warm, and the sound of his heart beating was enough to sooth her and almost put her to sleep. "Goodnight Richie." Arabella whispered closing her eyes, she couldn't wait until they could spend every night in the same bed.

"I just need my nightgown."

Richmond politely waited, not even looking in the direction of the changing screen. Then, when she was changed, slipped into the bed with her, holding her close, and kissing her forehead as she snuggled up to him.

"Goodnight Richie."

Richmond smiled, and replied, "Goodnight Bella." He snuggled into the pillow, not wanting to fall asleep, afraid he'd forget how soft her skin or nightgown was, but alas his eyes lost the fight against his body.

The next morning, Richmond managed to awake before dawn, and silently left Arabella's room, coat on, and shirt buttoned again, managing to sneak into his room, and change into his pajamas as if he'd never been there. He fell back asleep, dreaming of her, when the sun started to shine through the window, and he got dressed.

Then, right after he'd finished his outfit, a knock was on his door. "Come in." He said, and a Messenger appeared. "Sire, the Kingdom has just gotten word that two more countries have joined Kalwai's fight against us. I believe the components are Kalwai, Tampani, and Milkouee. "

Richmond sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Fine. Thank you. You may leave." As the messenger nodded and shut the door, he wondered just how he was going to tell Arabella, or if she'd heard.

Arabella woke to the soft chatter of her maids, she sat up yawning. "Good morning your Grace." they all said curtsying and continuing on with preparing her gown for the day, Arabella changed then allowed one of the maid to brush out her hair and put it up in a simple bun. A knock came from the door.

"The Prince your Grace." Arabella nodded signalling to let him in, she moved over to him and could already tell there was something wrong just by the way he held himself. "Leave us, please." Arabella waited for all of the maids to exit the room, and for the door to be closed before looking back at Richmond. "Richmond, whats going on?" Arabella gently ran her hand down his arm taking his hand. "Whats wrong?"

"Leave us, please. Richmond, whats going on? What's wrong?"

Richmond sat on the bench in front of her bed, and waited for her to take his hand as she sat next to him. "Love.." He started, running a hand through his hair. "Two more countries have joined the Kalwai war against us. Tampani.. and Milkouee." He sighed.

"If I hear another message from the Messengers about this war, I'm going to have to leave to fight." He explained, and his hand cupped her cheek after running his hand through her hair. "I have to stand up to protect you, Arabelle. " He spoke softly, and held her hands with his.

"I love you and I always will. Until my last breath leaves my body." He sheepishly smiled, and gazed into her eyes.

"If I hear another message from the Messengers about this war, I'm going to have to leave to fight. I have to stand up to protect you, Arabelle. I love you and I always will. Until my last breath leaves my body." Arabelle softly squeezed his hand and put on a smile. "I understand, but would it not be wiser for your Father to go?" Arabelle questioned, it seemed a safer option to send the King then his heir to the throne, is both of his sons were to die, he would have no heir and it would cause a civil uprising. "If something were to happen, to you and your brother, and neither of you returned, your Father would be without an heir to his throne, as we are not wed, I have not produced you an heir to take your place if anything were to happen. The loss of both of you could start a Civil war, everyone wants power, everyone will go after the throne. If your Father were to go and not return, it would secure his line as you would be here, you would be crowned."

Arabelle put her hand on Richmond's cheek gently running her thumb over his cheek. "However, if you do go. Promise me one thing..." Arabelle looking him in the eyes almost crying. "Please, please come back to your Kingdom, to me..."
