Personality: Kaito is a very distant human being, often finding pleasures in solidarity. It is surprising that one so quiet and introverted has rose very high in the ranks of the elites of the city. The man carries a deep profound wisdom; it bears on his head like a sovereign crown of a king holding great majesty and regality in his silent stride. There is also, a great burden about him that he seems to carry. Those that do know this excessively private man find him deeply trouble and conflicted as though this great king bears deep wounds. Guilt run excessively deep and Kaito has done much in his life to feel guilty.

Interest: Kaito main drive is to maintain and expand his monopoly over the city’s infrastructure and maintenance. He firmly believes that he is the only individual capable for performing and managing this momentous task of keeping the last known city in civilization alive. Without the essential services provided to keep the city running, the entire city would fall into chaos and hundreds of thousands would be killed in the process in riots and revolutions. He is so committed to these ideals that Kaito has resorted to excessive cruelties in the pass to insure the survival of mankind.

Bio: Hatakeyama Kaito is the sole Director of the City’s Power Grid providing it with light, warmth, electricity, modern engineering, water, utilities, pumping, infrastructure and things necessary to keep up with Melancholy massive maintenance. The Machines that operate under his keen management run 24 hours a day mostly worked on by the labor of slaves in rigorous eight hours shifts. Though not the wealthiest man in Melancholy his ability to alter the rate of the services he has monopolized that are essential for the city’s survival and provide the Wealthy with the power they need to run their homes, businesses and enterprises makes him one of the most powerful men in the city.

In this ruthless lassie faire environment, Kaito literally has the power to shut down the wealthy factories, machines, mines, businesses and other means with the means of a code or a button and black out all the slave shanties. He takes no hesitation to price gouge the consumer and competitors that emerged into the market economy are mercilessly crushed. His justification for these actions is that a single company running the entire power supply makes it extremely efficient and the money he makes through these actions are placed to insure the machines are improved.

The Newspapers, especially the radical and abolitionist titles call Kaito ‘The Dictator of the Machines’. The machines that keep the city alive often maim those that work within them, eroding at the slave population that is forced to work and repair them. Kaito public image has become synonymous with the tyrannies of the Wealthy. At his very worst he is portrayed as an extremely detached, power hungry industrialist that is cold to the suffering of the workers that are eaten by the machines he so affectionately values. This is the cross Kaito has chosen to bare, as he knows the shutdown of those very machines mean the death of all people: Wealthy and Slave.

Kaito since his rise to prominence at 23 has become a shut-in and reclose. He had constructed a very expansive nature preserve in the inner most sanctum of the city where he lives mostly alone with the exception of the people he has acquired to keep the vastly impressive Elysium, as the palace is called. He rarely makes a public audience anymore, which makes many wonder if Kaito is even still alive the only sign of life is the occasional automatic shipment of supplies that are moved into the isolated sanctum.

Other:
The Newspapers have not really dived much into the personal life of this man, but what is known is that he is indeed an open homosexual. Kaito has so much power and influence within the city that it is very hard for someone to abuse or accost him for his orientation.

Within the muddled, dirty, stench ridden crowded city streets that was comprised of the Slave City of Melancholy, another exceeding rare thing passed by Misaki first and then Chrono second. It was an automobile. A very rust clad and old automobile, one most likely long since used by a dozen drivers and chauffeurs that catered to elites before finally being discarded. For someone to resemble the parts and repair to become mobile meant distinction. The car pulled right up to the sight of the slaver operation and the letters painted crudely along it made the other slavers go silent. Four people emerged out of the car, all wearing nice comfortable clothes for this district, one man had a horrible gash across his face, one woman with rather homely features about herself and a tattoo covering her right face, one rather huge man with scars… and Tanaka Hiraku.

“Watch the Car Kiyoshi…” The rather aged man spoke up to the driver with the ugly growth on his face. He bowed respectfully to his Big Brother, as was the title for their gang leader as he went back into the driver seat subtly testing the saw off shotgun underneath the driver wheel.

The other three walked over, the veteran smuggler and slaver took a rather rancid piece of chewing tobacco from a cheap tin box and began to chew. He walked right up to the bearded man. “I am in the middle of business!” He gripped for a moment before the larger man next to him gave the slaver an eye evil prompting him to shrink. The other two slavers that had been a part of his small crew were keen for their knives, but as the woman undid he jacket she showed she was holstering a side-arm… with the discarded parts of men she liked to cut out of people tied next to her hostler. The two other shrunk like frighten bunnies.

“We were in business first Fujiyama… when you decided to sell product without giving me my operational cut. Failing to conclude past business before continuing with present business is bad business.” Buyers were important to this part of the city yes, but Tanaka could not afford people stealing from him, he had a reputation to uphold. He took one look at the wealthy boy, not even a bodyguard to accompany him, most unwise.

“Please mind our interruption, we will allow you to conclude your business.” He spoke before he spoke again. “Hodo please take Fujiyama for a drink of tea.” The other man eyes went wide, he knew what that meant as he desperately tried to make a break for it grappled by the massive man as he dragged him towards the car. He looked to the other two slavers. “You’ll get some courier packages the next couple of days, I do hope you appreciate that.” Of their former boss piece by piece “Please continue your business with this nice gentlemen here. I am will be awaiting my share by tonight.” No one stole from him: period.

Life was savagery here in the slums, and those who ruled were the biggest of monsters. He casted only one look at the other boy on the side. No words, no thoughts. The slave should have considered himself very fortunate it was just that.

There was a tranquil silence that stirred inside his precious Elysium, Kaito did not even dare to break it. It was like a wordless pact he had made with the private conservation that spanned out for endless acres in all directions. No cards, no noise, no people besides the occasional slave gardener or grounds keeper that passed through on a compact soundless motor car for some more maintenance. Above everything else, the number of grounds keepers on staff were an alarming number, to preserve, monitor wild life and tend to natural works in this place took a few dozen full time men. Kaito wanted them to be slaves because freemen could leave this place and for rather estranging reasons he wanted the staff to live on the very thing they took care of. They would treat it much better if they were forced to live in it.

The private man just waited for the men to pass. They said nothing, just tipped their hard hats at the sight of their master. Kaito was not a very cruel master but a very possessive and eccentric one. He had noticed the slaves often acted much differently around him, nervous. He said nothing, soon they were gone and he was alone once more. No noise, no people, simply… peace. Silently he turned his attention back to his proverbial palace built to house him and the staff of Elysium. It was an unspeakably massive building fit for the extravagance of an emperor.

He crossed both his arms behind his back as he stood there starring out to the palace he had made to live away from the city, away from the noise, the crowds, the people, the diseases, the horribleness. He needed to get back inside, there was a central console inside his home that had accessed to the city’s power grid and the various proxies that he networked to run his affairs from the comfort of his palace. The city most enigmatic eccentric was not in public sight, but his actions still held a great deal of weight that echoed through out every corner of the city.

Kaito was left alone with the empty hollow echoes of his own steps inside massive chambers lit with beautiful works of art and archaic stone sculptures. Statues were found everywhere around the building, Kaito was fond for them, fond in collecting them and shipping them here. He was left to wander through each chamber in silence; the mansion was so large that one barley bumped into the scarce amount of people that populated this castle of a place. Passing through the darkness and the sheer enormity of it all, Kaito made his way to a very essential place in Elysium.

It was his breath to the outside world; it required his genetic sequence to unlock the door that led to it: it was the central console to the city’s power grid. He had two of these built: one within fortified bunker beneath the city main power plant and one here. It was a room with a station at its very center, approaching it as he accessed the console at the station. The world lighted around him, the systems began to start upward in a bright hue around him as the silent operator looked distantly at all the innerworkings. The city power outputs, the stock market, bank reports, newspapers, every shred of management built into this remarkable machine, at his very finger tips.

His eyes danced across the screen, sending notes and messages to the various proxies around the city to enact his will. His eyes danced to a specific alert. There was a company owner selling a significant amount of shares. This was quite the opportunity, the company was a solid structure, fine revenue and has seen a lot of growth recently. He wrote a short message to his proxy in the exchange, purchase all the shares. It would be very nice to branch out into that market, there was a great deal to improve in the field.

He would need to talk to previous management first, the instructions were very keen. A buyout price was going to be sent to the company to hold the shares on reserve as a merging agent would be there sent to discuss the purchase personally on behalf of Mr. Hatakeyama.

A rather small simple motor was being driven through the wealthy district. It passed through the lush, passively navigating through the bluebloods that passed about the streets and walks ways in a very neat and organized manner. Inside was a woman, her name was Ms. Cheng, and she was the Vice President of a prominent department in the company. She was dressed rather plainly, she was a rather thick in her frame though relatively still young woman in her early thirties. She stopped the car at the fenced gates of the manor waiting to be received in as she presented her own identification badge.

Mikazuki Natsumi

Her masters family where the only owners and having no blood children or a son to take over. Not being blood and being in truth a slave it made things very tricky. when told of someone being at the gate she nodded to let the others know to let the women in. Her master would not talk to any one sent by someone that was looking to by, he would only talk to the person. He believed in making eye contact and studying the person.

When the woman came in to the office Mikazuki watched her before she spoke. She choose her words carefully knowing that this could tip the scales big time. "I am sorry but if Mr. Hatakeyama would like to buy the company he will have to come and talk to my father him self. He likes to do things in a more of a traditional away I am sorry if this creates any issues for him." Her tone held nothing but respect when she talked she knew how to carry her self with things. "I can set an apoint up if it would suit Mr. Hatakeyama"

Kida paused while he saw someone talking to him, 'A wealthy person...? Here already...?' He wasn't interested in being bought just yet, in fact, he wanted to leave the city of slavery instead of being bought to work as he always did. Kida blinked at this man for a while, and didn't answer until one of the random slave onlookers yelled out for him to answer the rich man, which annoyed him enough, so he simply replied, "I stole headphones. They are rare here." He held them up, but far enough from all of the slaves who were looking at him with jealousy, "Unlike your city, we're not living in lavishness where these could easily be afforded." He frowned a bit, not taking a liking to any of the wealthy, no matter who they were. He wasn't going to trust someone anymore after what happened to the little girl who used to visit him and who died of an illness. She wasn't saved, even with the wealthy's wonderful medical abilities, and because of that, his hatred of the rich grew even stronger, despite who they really may have been.

Misaki noticed that a lot of people were now in the city of poverty. She looked around and saw that there were many wealthy lurking around, either just to look, or to buy. She saw a beautiful woman, two men in fancy clothing, and a young man talking to a chased slave, 'Of course... no one would be here to save them...' Misaki felt a small touch of pain in her chest as she felt a tug onto her cloak by a little girl who was much skinnier than she thought they would be. After taking a glance around, she knelt down, and gave this little girl a piece of bread as she ran off with joy, 'They've gotten much more skinnier...' Misaki slowly stood up, pulling her dirty cloak over her head as she then saw someone in the distance, also seeming to be helping a little child, 'Huh...?' She looked closer, not believing what she saw as this wealthy black haired young man was also tending for the poor, "That's... impossible though..."

Yuki decided to head for the city of slavery first. Although his family was very important to him, and their health was also very important, he wanted to also help those who's life were in much more danger than his family's. He saw many poor people, sitting on the side of the road, hiding, and even robbing each other to help them self, "It's even come down to this much greed?" He asked out loud, a few people spitting at him for his words. He didn't mind though, because that's who he used to be also. Yuki found an old woman sitting on the side, coughing very hard as he kneeled down, reached into his bag, and pulled out what appeared to be a shot, "Don't mind me Ma'am." He smiled slightly and put the needle into her arm and ejected the medicine, hoping that it would lead to her living to see the next day. Yuki, too, was once a slave, so the least he could do as a run away, was to repay the people he left behind.

The small executive stood there for a moment. Ms. Cheng took a very calculating inspection of the woman before her. “Young Lady, I have been Mr. Hatakeyma Chief Administration Officer for over Eight Years, I was his Assistant Director for years before those eight.” She spoke very eloquently and formally. She was a rather stout woman somewhat having the chauffeur pick up her rather simple automobile to the estate’s garage for now.

“I can respect your father’s desire for a formal appointment but if he does get one he will receive one to see me on this matter. My employer is an impeccably private and busy man as I am sure the both of you are well aware. I am more than qualified to perform this business transaction with the greatest output of satisfaction gained.”

She had run the company for several years, continuing with daily business that only grew as her superior expanded this empire. They always wanted to see Kaito. Everyone wanted to see him for one matter or another and she would not lie how infuriated she was at times on how she was overlooked as some errand boy rather than the hard working professional she was. She was still trying to figure out what he desired from this particular company, it was out of his usual accusation field. Still, Mr. Hatakeyma though he was not as present in the company as he used to be when he performed an action it echoed throughout the entire city in some shape or manner.

“So I would be very grateful if you made that appointment at the briefest possible time available.” After that Ms. Cheng somewhat waited for her car to return to her, this meeting was an apparent bust it seemed.

Mikazuki Natsumi

Mikazuki was hard to read as she slowly stood up. She was very tall for a woman she towered over most people this made some very uneasy around her. "I have no doubt in your skills how ever the thing is your not the buyer Mr Hatakeyma is. I under stand he is a private man, however I think he can respect a dieing man wishes on how he wants to do things." there was no disrespect in her tone. She never razed her tone it stayed soft and smooth like silk. "One lesson I have learned from my father over the years is you can tell much about a person when you make eye contact with them. You can see there past, there truths there lies and where they are going. You can tell even the kind of honor they have or if they will keep there word" she took a few steps her movements where like a leaf dancing in the wind. "How ever if Mr. Hatakeyma would like to buy and is willing to meet with my father I can give you the papers my father wrote up along with all the need information and a contact list. "

She moved back to the desk pulled out a file that was wrapped neatly with a purple ribbon and sealed with a silver wax crest. She wrote down times on a small card and slipped it under the ribbon. "I can promises this the meeting with my father would not take any longer than ten minutes at the most. With his health he wants to keep things short as he can and to the point. Mikazuki moved to a cabinet looking for something before she pulled a small box out. She picked the file up and moved over to Ms. Cheng. "Please take these to Mr. Hatakeyma and this small gift in hopes of reaching some from of deal." Mikazuki gave a small bow.

In the small box was a hand carved with grate detail an Orchid. The color and the way it was painted showed grate care in its work. Even with it not being a living thing it looked it. The way the color danced in the light was a true master piece and very much a one of a kind. It was a very lovely gift, something like this was fair cheap.

Ms. Cheng stood there again quietly. Once again she was over estimated and passed off of any value because of Mr. Hatekeyma's own egnimatic wishes in the past. "No." Was the diffentative answer. It stab almost like a knife as the older woman gave her stare down.

"It is not Mr. Hatakeyma who will be buying this company it will be me. I am the one handling this exchange and I consider this treatment an extreme insult." She said with a little bit of bitterness distilled into her tone though covered well at the most. "The denial of my meeting with your father speaks that you don't believe I won't keep my word and be trust worthy and shows that you completely disrespect the wishes of my employer."

If she or her father was not willing to play by the rules, then it was a warning sign of things to come. "Now you can explain to your father just how you destroyed a multi-million dollar deal in a few minutes of time, unlike your father Mr. Hatakeyma has a great trust in subordinates." Was all she said as the older woman approached the lot again waiting for her car to return. She didn't even take the files or the crane as her instincts as a professional told her this deal would bring the company nothing but troubles.

There was a snide snobbish apathy among the wealthy to the street to even acknowledge Tanaka and his blatant violence. He should not complain, as the slaver and his three associates simply departed with their one man. The other slaves on the streets winced horrible as the large one of the four dragged their victim to the car and began to savagely beat him with brute strength alone. The woman aided her associate in the beat down before she popped open the trunk the two tossing the man inside. The slaver took one long look at the group around one pink hair slave. He thought nothing of it simply retaking his seat in the car and the old rust clad motor began to cruise off. Slaves silently went back to their affairs.

Mikazuki bit her toung when Ms. Cheng made the insalt remark. In polite socity when one remarks on death or poor health you made a polite commeint even in small talk. she let nothing show. "I could say the same about you completely disrespecting the wishes of my father and his tridtions" her tone held no bitterness but stayed like smooth silk. She had a point with what she said respect was a two way street as was working for people with power.

She sighed her fathers health was bad and he wanted his last bit of respect to be held intact to do things his way and the way his father did befor him and so on. That was not to much to ask. She moved sitting back down pinshing the bridge of her nose. She under stood how things worked in the world but at the same time she had to obay her father. She hated this but it was how things where done. None the less she requested one of her works to deliver the items to Mr. Hatekeyma home with a note letting him know what was going on. It was simple and elgently written.

"Dear Mr. Hatekeyma,
Please forgive the meeting I had with Ms cheng my father is a man stuck in the old ways of doing things when it comes to making deals. Sadly this makes do things a little more tricky. He likes to do things face to face with the owner and not any one else he finds there is a honor to it. Even more so with his falling health this aspect has become some what of a big deal for him, wanting to make sure his company along with other holdings goes to the right type of person. I think you will find setting a meeting up with him will be very much worth your time and trouble.

Again please forgive how the meeting went I am only obaying what he asks of me.

Mikazuki Natsumi

Mikazuki left what the other holdings where out she new what they where worth along with how hard they where to find. She prized the more than money. The hours she spent working with them finding there secerts and under standying them was huge. Many artifacts that where said to be long gone and lost. Her father was no fool he had his own power sorces running the lights and temputer to the rooms that held the artifacts to keep them safe. Scrolls, books, art and many more things lay tucked away in the vulte under the company. This was why her father was being so very picky about who he sold it to and n one knew about any of it. The collection went back 6 genurations.

The rarest of things had happened. The press was now in an uproar over some very sensational news. The industrial lift that moved up and down to the private preserve of Hatakeyma Kaito became operational and was slowly bringing three smooth heavily tinted motor cars to the surface of the City of the Wealthy. The entire city was now in an uproar, there were reasons why Kaito rarely emerged out of his sanctum and the descent and madness of the city whenever the powerful reclusive did arrive out was one such reason. The motorcade was met with a great cluster of reporters at the central station that had not been used in years. Police escort was already there, Kaito had called in a favor as the several cars and dozen officers acted as a steady and well managed deterrent for the vultures.

He examined the letter again, pleading letter from a most loving child. A dying father. There was a long lingering silence within the central car, heavily tinted and even isolated from the driver. Four more cars were awaiting for the Motorcade as well as an abundant police escort. Several streets had been seized in the City of the Wealthy and traffics programming themselves had been altered by Kaito’s systems to reroute traffic for a clear and concise route for the residence in question.

The long line of cars began their move, the press somewhat ecstatic as police had been sent up ahead to secure the manor from being overrun by the vultures.

Mikazuki Natsumi

She went back to take care of her father helping him in to his wheel chair. She pulled a blanket over him and smiled sweetly at him. "Lets get you out for some air and a little sun" She liked to push the chair she hated the other was. Slowly she moved him to the sun room opening the blinds to let the light in. The old man shut his eyes and seemed to enjoy the warmth that it gave him. "father if things where different.." he held his hand up to tell her to stop. She smiled and moved to take his hand. She knew from this what his answer was. "Thank you" She leaned in and gave a soft kiss to his forehead. She sighed shutting her eyes for a little bit she was hopping that who ever took over would keep her on as her father requested.

It did not take long for the news of what was going on to get to her and her father. With this her father gave her a few short orders on what he wanted done. He would hold the meeting in his private office. Mikazuki made her way there with him giving orders to servants on what need to be handled. Her father new a few things on the man that was coming and wanted to make him feel welcome. He had a covered walk way set up to keep people from being able to spy along with his personal police force set out to walk the grounds. He would make sure that Mr. Hatakeyama felt welcome.

Mikazuki went about making tea and a small welcome plate. She knew things like this where a big deal to her father and she new he liked to make people feel as welcomed as he could. It did not take her long to mix a few batches of dried tea leafs and put them in a bowl and get the tea cart to the office.
