Pain. That was all Valerie was aware of when she took control of her mind. Her eyes were sealed tightly closed, and her teeth were gritted. She felt tremors shake through her body and under her skin, creating goose flesh on her arms. She was sweating heavily and regretting not going to the light. Deciding the try to ease the pain, she tried shifting her position, but couldn't. Something was restricting her movement. She reluctantly opened her eyes to a small and shabby room. Dirt was everywhere. Crumbles of cement block lay everywhere, creating more of a mess. When she went to see what was bound at her wrists, she gasped.
Blood was everywhere. Valerie was lying in a pool of blood, which she assumed was her own. Her clothes were caked to her dirty and bloody body. Her hair was plastered to her face with blood. Her hands were bound above her head to a wooden post. Blood spilled from the rope burns on her wrists. She writhed and grunted in pain. She forced her head to the side and hit it against a cement block, causing blood to spill from the top of her eye brow, and down her face. She gasped in pain as the block the hit her head fell and cause another block to crash down on her leg. She screamed as consciousness slipped through her fingers.

He tried to look around, but he was staring at the cement wall across from him. He realized that it was splattered in blood. Tilting his head down an inch, but not feeling anything, from numbness, he saw another girl, completely covered in blood. He tilted his head down a little bit further, but was suddenly blinded by pain. So much pain. Too much...
He gasped suddenly, the pain was over for the time being. Breathing hurt. He tried to remember what happened last. But all he could feel was nothing, he didn't remember anything. He didn't even remember his own name...
It was driving her crazy. Somewhere else, someone screamed. Evangeline jerked away, afraid of what she might find in the darkness. "Somebody, help, please, anybody!" she gasped. Twisting and wriggling around, she finally found that the dripping sound came from her. A thick substance fell from her eyes, which was probably blood. Some fell into her mouth, and she tasted the familiar salty tang.
When her eyes got used to the dark, she saw a figure across from her. "Who - who are you?" she asked, not daring to believe that there were others in the same position as her.
"Who - who are you?" she asked him. He was suddenly asking the same thing to himself. Who was he? Mello didn't remember a thing. He tried to talk, his voice was raspy, but he still managed to speak. He closed his eyes and tried to remember his name. Who am I, who am I? A flash of memory came to him,
"Mello Khe-el, right?" the teacher said. Little five year old Mello, still in kindergarten raised his hand, calling "Here! Mrs. Skye, it's like Kheel,"
"Okay Mello, I'll keep that in mind next time," and the teacher smiled at Mello with care.
"People... introduce themselves... before asking... for a... name..." Mello rasped with difficulty, happy that he remembered his name, that, was one of his favorite phrases. He almost laughed in spite of everything happening, he remembered what he liked. The figure across from him was obviously a girl, her long, shiny, hair gave it away.
Some of the victims were awake and trembling with fear. A boy with coal black hair was crying from the pain he was feeling right now. A girl with sun colored air was wincing in pain while trying to fight back tears. Some other girl he didn't notice before hung her head down as if she were unconscious. 'probably couldn't handle the pain' At that thought he walked up to Blythe, making sure to go into her personal bubble. Oh how fun irritating someone was.
"So, what you gonna do now? Make them suffer then they already are? Torture them until they bleed to death? I would ever so like to hear what!" Aidan said in a mocking tone. He wanted to know for the fun of it. Not to actually enjoy himself while others are in pain. Although right now he was feeling fairly lazy and decided to sit on a box b the door. He put his left foot on top of his right knee while holding his head up with his palm.
'Maybe I'll save them later. Keyword; later'
There were people, strewn all around her. Some were crying, others were on the verge of screaming. Some were already screaming. She couldn't really see much though because there were red blotches running over her eyes. Considering the pain in her forehead, those red blotches were blood. She had heard something about foreheads before hadn't she? She couldn't remember. Oh god she couldn't remember anything. What was her name again? How does somebody forget their own name? She tried to supress the fear she felt rising in her, and struggled to keep her breathing steady.
It was about that time that she saw people standing in the room. They weren't injured, and obviously weren't helping. She tried to speak but felt her mouth was full with something. She swallowed and felt the salty taste of her own blood. It must have gotten there while she was sleeping when her forehead dripped. She opened her eyes fully but felt a stinging pain in her left. Black eye maybe? Even her hair was matted and stained with her own blood, as well as the floor. When she managed to move her arms a little, she tried to push herself up to a position that didn't make all of the cuts and bruises feel worse than she should. She managed to prop her back against the wall, but that only introduced her to new pains laced along her back. She tried not to close her eyes again from the pain because she was scared she would not be able to open them again. Instead she let out a soft moan, which in the place she was in sounded like somebody yelling into a microphone. It was so quiet.
Taking her focuse back to the two standing in the room she tried to speak. The first time nothing came out, and she felt the dryness in her throat. But the second time she tried to speak louder and she managed to speak clearly. "What the hell is going on?" Even though she only spoke a few words she could feel the dry bitterness in her mouth increase. She was so thirsty even blood looked good, even though she knew it wouldn't help in the slightest.
She opened her eyes fully, a mistake. Light flooded in, making her temporarily dizzy. Once the patches of light cleared from her vision, she was aware of the devastation before her. Her right leg looked broken, and blood spilled slowly from an open wound. Her head ached, but not as much as it had earlier. Realizing her hands were still bound together, she stopped resisting. It was no use.
She noticed others around the room. Several were tied around the room like her caked in blood and dirt. A couple stood or sat, not restrained by the thick ropes. Envy and confusion chased each other through Valerie's mind. Why did they not help them? She cleared her throat and said in a shaky voice, "Help. . . please."
Blythe then heard "Help. . . please" from the brunnette girl that was passed out when she first came in. She walked over to her and knelt near the girl and mimicked her in a whiny voice "help please....help please....you want help from me? let me think about this..." she then laughed and got up from her knees brushing them off then looked at the girl again, then put her hand close to the girls face, then placed her nail on the girls forhead and slowly traced her face roughly "sorry hun but I don't help humans...I only hurt them" she smirked and pulled her hand away then went and sat down near Aiden "by the way I did not mean to rip the door off this time...it just sorta happened."
"So what are you going to do now? Make them suffer then they already are? Torture them until they bleed to death? I would ever so like to hear what!" the curly haired kid said. Mello realized that they were the people who had done this to them. "Well, if I tell you then what would be the fun in it? huh? I can't give away all my secrets... and I only said I do it if they don't keep their mouths shut..." Mello began losing conciseness, but he continued grasping on. He wanted them to help. But he couldn't seem to bring up the words. He closed his eyes, and concentrated on what he was hearing.
"Help... Please..." A girl, probably the same one that screamed, judging by the voice tone said.
"Help... Please... Help... Please..." the girl with multicolored hair mimicked mockingly to the other girl, "sorry hun, but I don't help humans... I only hurt them."
"By the way, I didn't mean to rip off the door this time, it just sorta happened."
Mello had already frozen at the second statement. She had asked for help, and she didn't get any, but what scared him even more is that she had said, I don't help humans, meaning she wasn't human... right? The best explanation would be trying to scare the girl into thinking that they weren't human, and everyone else. Mello could barely stay conscious to think of all this, so he finally let go of it...
"You scared the poor people!" He scolded playfully, now walking over towards the girl who Blythe had just traced her face on. The girl had long brunette tresses of hair and blood over her face, maybe if it weren't for the crimson color she would of had a light skin tone. But the most distinguishable feature about her was her ocean blue eyes with golden rimming. "Don't worry, 'cause I'm here to help~!" He stopped for a moment before laughing. "I sounded really gay there didn't I?" Slowly he put his backhand to her forehead and caressed the now red forehead due to Blythe. He smiled to her and whispered in her ear so low only she would be able to hear it. "Be nice and I might come and save you!"
He then stood up and walked back over to the sitting girl. Instead of sitting where he had sat last, Aidan opted to stand really close to her, almost to the point where it looked like they were squished. "You know how much I love being in your space?" His green gray eyes now shone with mischief and a certain playfulness. Most of his actions, if not all, consisted of things that weren't very demon like. For example, acting like a kid who can't get enough with playing with peoples minds. Ahh, how amusing people could be.

Her eyes went back over the humans, she never really understood them, maybe thats why she isn't too nice to them. Her parents taught her this way, it was the only way she really knew. She watched Aiden speak to the girl with the brunette hair. She shook her head looking bored. "Can we go have some fun please, im bored with them, all they do is whine and look scared and whine some more."
Blythe then watched as Aiden walked back over to her, standing very close to her, she started to bite her lip."You know how much I love being in your space?"She looked up to Aiden, he was much taller, over a foot taller then her, but most people where. His brown hair sort of a mess, his green, greyish eyes looking at her "Yeah I know how much you do, but do you know how much I hate it?" she asked. Aiden has always been a pain in her backend but also one of her good friends. She probably would be worse if it wasn't for Aiden keeping her from going overboard on somethings "Why are you always staring at me?" she asks questionally, she knows when hes staring at her she can feel it and she wanted to know why.
She watched as a small girl known as Blythe made her way over. She seemed overconfident, despite her size in stature not being in her favor. She squatted and leaned in close to Valerie's face, knowing the bound girl couldn't do anything about it. She mimicked her, making her sound weak. Valerie tried to spit in her face, but there was not enough liquid to spew out. She was parched. She closed her eyes briefly, and opened them to see Blythe's nail digging into her temple. Blythe traced her nail down Valerie's face, causing blood to slowly seep from the wound. She heard her mutter something, but could barely make it out.
She gazed up at a tall young man staring down at her, studying her. Slightly confused, she didn't say anything. She flinched as his hand made its way towards her face, scared he might hit her. She opened her eyes again to find him caressing her face. He began talking, and laughing at his own comment. She would have laughed too, if not for the current situation. He smiled, a broad and sweet smile, and leaned close to her ear. She was slightly alarmed when she heard him whisper promises of escaping.
Escape. How could she escape? She was almost sure that she wouldn't be able to walk. She assumed it wouldn't matter how she escaped, but that she did. She remained quiet, but she wouldn't be nice, and the guy had instructed. She didn't trust him, not yet. He could turn out to be just like that witch of a friend he has with him. No, wouldn't want to go liking someone like that.
He smiled and poked her cheek lightly in a teasing manner. Aidan knew Blythe was on the supposed 'bad' side and he wanted to change that. He also knew that she hated humans for reasons even he doesn't know but even despite that he wants to change her opinion. 'She can't always hold a grudge.' He mused to himself. "I was just wondering what it would be like if you didn't hate humans." Aidan said while looking in front of him and smiled gently. He ran his other hand though his chocolate brown locks of hair and then began to speak again. "But in all seriousness, I always did wonder as to why you don't like them. I mean, these people here did nothing wrong. They're innocent." He clenched his jaws slightly due to the fact that it may hit a nerve, and when Blythe got angry. She got angry.
Aidan looked towards her and then to the girl he had just talked to about escaping. It wasn't like he was fond of their kind but it wasn't like they did anything bad. In fact Aidans and Blythes race is just a myth to them. What possible harm could they do to something that's nonexistent?
Blythe tried not to cry, she has not cried in front of anyone around here and wanted to keep it that way. "Ever since then I have hated humans, no one is innocent Aiden, I know for sure im not and neither are these pesky weak ass humans" she now was at the point where she wanted to break something. She looked at the humans and got up "lets leave before I decided I want to torture them more". She got up and walked to the entrance waiting for Aiden.
She struggled to listen to what was going on but could hardly hear anything that mattered. She heard the name Blythe come from the boys mouth and figured that was the girl who wrinkled her shirt, not that it made the bloodstained thing look any worse. A few other words were spoken and the two standing in front of them actually seemed normal, but it was anoying when they would call the people chained to the wall humans. They were humans too, so it wasn't like they were calling them out.
Then the two started having a conversation about hating humans. It was hard to understand because she still didn't get why they were refereing to humans as a different species or anything. The only thing she got from it was that the girls family died so she hated people. Maybe they were just crazy. That was it, they two were just crazy and thought they weren't human or something. "Lets leave before I decided I want to torture them more." She heard 'Blythe' say before walking to the broken door. When did the door break? She thought to herself. God, she had to get out of here. There might be more than two of them. After all, Blythe was rather small. Maybe she could just slip the chains off when she left. It would probably hurt since they were pretty snug, but the blood on her hands hadn't dried all the way. If she was to do it at all now would be the most reasonable time.
A girl with bright red hair and what could be bright green eyes was looked at them as if they were crazy and wanted to make a smart Alec remark. He met her eyes and gave her a look that said 'I'll come back for you later.' Happy with the look he sent Aidan smiled towards her and turned away now going back to the room where they had been previously along with an unhappy camper on his shoulder. "You remind me of potatoes right now, you know that?"
Valerie tried to make sense of reality when Blythe and Aidan made their towards the door, she watched as they joked around. This is not a joking time, Valerie thought. Aidan put his arm on Blythe's shoulder, mocking her height. Valerie gave a quiet laugh, one she hoped she wouldn't have to pay for later. She really had to stifle a laugh when Aaron slung Blythe over his shoulder. Now this is great death's-door entertainment.
Looking at her bindings she felt a wave of hopelessness wash through her. They were barely loose on her, and if she did what she was planning on doing, it would hurt like hell. Not to mention they might not even come off, even with her hands still slick with blood. She could try to untie them, but she would have to use her teeth. Her plan seemed less and less likely to work. But when she thought about how Blythe hated 'humans' and the fact that she gave Brooklyn a dirty look made her decide it was at least worth a try.
Brooklyn tried to hoist herself up to her arms that were above her head but she felt a pain rush through her arms the moment she began to lift and let out a small cry of pain. She landed roughly back on the floor, but found that at least her butt didn't hurt. Comforting to know that they didn't hit her there. Instead of using her arms again she tried to move her legs but found even then that it hurt to simply shift them. In the time that had passed of her being awake she had managed to muster the ability to speak again, and used her restored ability to let out more than a few unkind words.
She looked at the others but they seemed to just be sitting, some still crying. How pathetic. She knew it was rude to even think that, but they chose to cry and waste the little water they still had in them instead of trying to get out. She was getting out, and she was getting out as fast as she could. She wasn't going to wait for anybody to come back, or for nobody to come and just let her slowly die from dehydration.
Looking back up at the ropes she clenched her teeth together and began to lift herself, screaming a muffled scream through her teeth. She hoped that they weren't still close by. She couldn't hear them anymore though so she should be out of their hearing range too. Oh god the pain, it hurt so much. She managed to get up to the rope but found she wouldn't be able to open her mouth without alerting the entire building that she was moving around. Reluctantly she felt herself lower back onto the ground. Now it was her trying to hold back tears. She felt defeated. Her cuts and scratches on her arms and legs had reopened and were now bleeding openly again. That would be hard to miss.

He looked back at the girl. She seemed to have given up. He looked around the room. Everybody else seemed to have hopelessness in there eyes. She seemed to be the only one that was trying, perhaps a strong will to life. Mello felt some hope in him suddenly, he realized something. He stopped his tears of pain that were streaming out of his eyes. If someone heard them, then they'd both be dead. "Hey... I have an idea," He said to the long, red haired girl in a hushed voice, "I can try and bite your ropes off... but if they hear you yell or anything, than we're both dead." He pushed himself forward onto his bound hands, they hurt like hell! He avoided collapsing from pain, and fell down into a sitting position.
Then, Valerie heard a boy sitting next to the girl speak. His voice was hoarse, probably from not using it.. He suggested the idea of biting off the ropes, freeing the girl so they she could free everyone else. He attempted to rise, but the pain of his hands was too much to bear. Being all the way on the other side of the room, Valerie could not help them, but could she help herself?
The ropes binding her wrists were thick, and dug into her hands, leaving sores. Pulling her hands out of the ropes was out of the questions. Temporarily defeated, she looked around the room. That much movement caused the cut on her head to reopen. She watched the blood trickle down her cheek, and remembered the cement blocks that she hit her head on earlier to cause the wound. She carefully turned left, and saw the blocks. Her hands were tied above her head, and the odds couldn't be anymore in her favor.
She edged her way over to the blocks inch by excruciatingly pain inch. Believing she was close enough, she moved the ropes up and down on the side of the cement block. Oh, it hurt, how it hurt so much. But she couldn't stop. She moved the rope back and forth, back and forth until she felt the restraint lessen. She had cut the rope. She was free!
"And it's a known fact, that taller person gets the most fun." Aidan stated, now turning in a circle as to make her ride more 'enjoyable'. His sense of humor could be twisted you could say. Moments later he heard the sighs and grunting frustrations of some people. Him being a demon and all had enhanced senses; one of them including incredible hearing. As he walked towards the room they were previously in, he started to hear them being more and more fierce in trying to escape. One had started and a boy he presumed was whispering something about escaping. 'Geesh, they can't wait? They must really be suffering.' he thought. Now they were both in the eerie looking room, gray walls that looked like metal and concrete floor with cracks.'But in all fairness I would probably be doing the same thing. Although a little more rationally.' Caught up in his thoughts he didn't notice the sound of rope being cut until it fell. Aidan stopped and his breath hitched the smallest bit. The sound of rope falling and the sound of human feet on ground made him wary. He looked towards Blythe knowing she could probably hear the same things also.
Aidan put her down and and looked at her and then the door. "Well my dear Bly, I think one of them have escaped. What ever should we do now?" He knew what he wanted to do and was going to do it either way, but he wanted to see what would happen if he weren't there. Because in all honesty, Aidan wanted Blythe to learn to forgive, because forgetting he knew be impossible. Although that word itself does say 'I'm possible'.
As Aiden let her down she heard the sound of rope being cut she glared at Aidan then down at the door "Well my dear Bly, I think one of them have escaped. What ever should we do now?" She sighed "Well I don't know Aiden, we can't just let them running around the place." She then started walked down to the room and stood in the entrance "Now.. now... now... if you want to escape then id be more quiet if I was you. I could hear you a mile away, at least it was us that heard you and not one of the leaders." She shook her head and then went to the girl with the brown hair taking her by the arm "So you broke free from the ropes, your a smart girl ya know thought not smart enough for us" she looked at the doorway "AIDAN! We are going to have to take them somewhere else. It seems this room is just too useful to them" she then looked to the girl "now lovely if you listen I won't have to hurt you, I am trying to be nice which is hard for me to do with humans."
Blythe then glared at the boy and the red hair girl "you both don't try anything either...please".
