While Ysa has been training with Guardians for almost five years, she began to doubt she'd ever encounter a Strigoi again. But she did during the Spring Break of her last year at Saint Vladimir's. She was with her cousin Camille in Venice and had Leon and another Guardian with them. They were attacked by three Strigoi who seemed to actually be working in tandem. Once they downed Josef, two of them worked Leon while one headed for Camille and Ysa. After getting over the shock of actually being in battle, Ysa grabbed Josef's stake and started to fight. Granted, she wasn't as strong or as durable as a Dhampir or a Strigoi, but she was more hardy than most Moroi and with Leon's help, she staked the last Strigoi and they all got to safety. Her Molnija mark was done outside of a ceremony and has been the topic of controversy and scandal.
• Her fangs || Every Moroi has them. Her cuspids are a bit thicker, sharper, and longer than human cuspids and aid greatly in piercing flesh to drink from her next blood meal. Like every Moroi child, she was taught from a young age how to talk, laugh, and smile without revealing her cuspids. Like every other Royal Moroi, the first thing Ysa learned was how to get her way. She's a master at manipulating people and being able to compel others just makes it easier. She doesn't like to and doesn't do it often, mostly because she doesn't care too much for spreading vicious rumors and lies as much as she enjoys finding dirty secrets that can be used to her advantage and tossing out proof of their validity. She doesn't see it as a bitch move nor does she feel that it compromises her kind nature. The world of Moroi politics is a tough one to survive in and if you want your voice to be heard, you've got to be on top. She's always been an independent type with her own mind, refusing to allow her life be dictated completely by the ideals of someone else, especially when she does not uphold the same ideals. She is seen as a radical thinker by the older members of Court and is often dismissed as just a silly child with silly story book ideas. But she's far wittier than they give her credit for and stronger. She's very passionate about everything she does from her emotions to her causes, giving everything in her life 110%, leaving no room for failure. There are times when she's very analytical but sometimes Spirit does get to her and she can be a bit impulsive. She is otherwise a very headstrong girl with a big heart who does her best to look out for what is in everyone's best interest.
Flaws
• Leon|| While oblivious to his feelings for her, as she often forgets he is even capable of feeling because he's always so tough on her and rarely wavering, she does have feelings for him. She dismisses them as nothing more than a school girl's crush and knows that should she ever pursue anything serious with him, it would be the absolute scandal of the century. Dhampir women and Moroi men are a common thing, though it's always just a fling. But a Moroi Royal female with a Dhampir male, even in a fling? Preposterous. Plus, he's very distracting.
• Spirit|| While she's usually a pretty upbeat person, she can often become overcome with sudden bursts of anger, depression, and sometimes violent mood swings. She will sometimes smoke and drink a little to contain these feelings when come, most of the time managing to excuse herself before anyone can see her in such a state. Only her cousin, Camille, and her Guardian, Leon know about her mood swings though they don't know the cause and neither does she. Because of this, she tries to limit the use of her...unusual abilities, having figured out that the more she uses them, the more the mood swings come.
• Eye sight || Unlike other Moroi, she doesn't have 20/20 vision and is required to wear glasses because she is farsighted.

History
Ysabel was born shortly after Mirabel Conta, a notorious Royal Moroi whore, had managed to seduce Ibrahaim Mazur, a very influential and charming Moroi “businessman”. Since she was small, she hardly ever got along with her mother and more often saw her as more of an older sister because of Mirabel's partygirl ways. It was rare for Mira to show her daughter any sort of maternal side and had given custody of her to Marie Conta, Mirabel's sister. She lived in Spain for some time with little supervision from her aunt, often cared for by a Dhampir maid that had been injured by Strigoi but still wished to serve the Moroi in some way. Which ended up with her being a babysitter. Ysa grew up in Court and among Guardians, learning from both settings and letting it affect many aspects of her personality. She was seven years old when she moved from her home in Barcelona with her younger cousin, Camille, to attend Saint Vladimir's in Montana. They could have easily attended one of the Academies nearby but the majority of the other Royal children went to Saint Vladimir's and it was their job to officially begin with politics. She excelled in school and easily made friends though she knew better than to get too close to anyone. Most Moroi would turn on each other in a heartbeat if it meant a gain for their family. Ysa was seen as an oddball though because she spent her weekends training with Dhampirs. She wasn't as good as them, but she could handle herself. It eventually faded into the norm though and there was minimal talk about it anymore. She was sixteen when Leon was assigned to guard her personally. She, Camille, and Vasilissa were out shopping with their Guardians when two Strigoi attacked. The Strigoi had gotten the drop on them and with the element of surprise, they managed to take out all three of the Guardians. Leon happened to be nearby, being off duty, and rushed to their rescue. Afterward, Ysa's aunt Marie tried to pull some strings for Leon to be Camille's personal guard but Ysa's father had more pull than she did and landed Leon as Ysabel's Guardian after she asked.
