Sushi, math classes, mayonnaise, losing at anything, rejection, golf, traffic, cheap liquor, things being off limits to him

Personality:
Give a boy a lot of money, a beautiful face, lots of friends, and an upbringing based around privilege, and you're giving him the insanely inflated ego that Elijah possesses. At this point, he won't even deny that he's cocky. Of course, he will insist that the cockiness is well founded, and would be more accurately described as confidence, but he's well aware that a lot of people see him as being egotistical and it doesn't bother him in the slightest. In a sense, being so comfortable with yourself, and so secure with who you are, is admirable for any teenager. Elijah doesn't care what you think about him, and loves himself. That's all good and well, but it starts to cross over into being a jerk, over being someone who simply loves themselves, quite frequently with him. On one hand, when he's around his parents, his friends' parents, teachers, or anyone of authority, he's the most well-mannered, polite kid you could ever meet. He makes a great first impression, comes across as being responsible and sociable, and seems like someone you would want your kid to be hanging out with. His peers are well aware that that good boy face is nothing more than a facade that hides his rash, irresponsible, vulgar and entitled side. If this were an episode of Gossip Girl, he would fit in perfectly as a blonde Chuck Bass - the guy who always has something witty to say, that will get right under your skin... the guy who's manipulating situations and screwing people over for his own benefit... and yet, the guy who gets away with it, and still manages to have friends and popularity... just because. Be it the family name,or the money, or the looks... Elijah's can retain his likability levels all while being an asshole, and if that's not a talent, he doesn't know what is. He's the guy you love to hate, and he loves it. He's irresistible, it's just kind of his thing.

One thing that you can't call Elijah is boring. He's definitely more of a wild child, and has no problem being the life of the party when it starts to feel dead. He's the kind of guy who's always up for an adventure, no matter how spontaneous or reckless it seems. He's funny, charismatic, and energetic. Aside from partying, Elijah also enjoys working out and staying active. He's very athletic, and loves spending time outdoors, be it in the water, playing recreational or team sports with his friends, or just going for a run. Joke all you want, but Elijah isn't ashamed at how he can out-shop his sister and mom in one outing. He's materialistic, loves name brands, and though he's not a prep or a "pretty boy" type, he's big on cars, electronics, and clothes, depending on what it is.

Elijah is a good friend, and 99% of the time, he's a loyal one too. The only time that might fail, is when it comes to girls. Boy, Elijah is definitely a sucker for a pretty face and a nice body, and if his friend happened to already "claim" that hot ass, then... well, it's not his fault if that wasn't made extremely clear before he took his turn there. Really though, for the most part, Elijah wouldn't do that. He's good to his boys, and is willing to play wingman as long as he's sober enough to not think he's entitled to whatever girl his friend wanted first.

ImageHistory:
Elijah was born into an upper class family in Beverly Hills, seventeen years ago. His father worked as a corporate lawyer, while owning his own law firm, and his mother as an anesthesiologist. Disregarding the fact that he was raised in a coveted neighborhood, Elijah's childhood was fairly normal. His parents never fought to a degree where the possibility of a divorce was ever put on the table, there were never any traumatic childhood incidents, and he was a pretty well liked among his peers. He has nothing to complain about (despite him frequently finding things to complain about) and deep down, he knows that he's lucky. His childhood entailed attending Brentwood school since kindergarten, spending his summers vacationing in Nantucket and the Hamptons, and on various exotic vacations, and his weekends consisted of hanging out with friends at country clubs, beaches, and parties. He grew up in a privileged environment, sheltered from the hardships of the "real" world, and though he's still just a teenager, he likes to think that the past seventeen years have given him enough real world experience to someday rule the world. Granted, his ignorant mindset has some reasoning behind it, because he's really never been held accountable for most of his actions, so for him, this bubble of a life is the real world, and he's quite happy being king of it.

Academic History:
Elijah has always done well in school, and luckily so, since his behavior out of school isn't ideal. Being naturally intelligent makes it easy for him to keep his parents off of his back, considering that whether he studies or not, he seems to get A's on most of his work. He has always excelled in science and math classes, though his favorite has always been physical education.

Extracurricular Activities:
He plays on the lacrosse team and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Image Height:
6'0

Body Build:
He's athletic, with a toned and fit body.

Although school had officially begun two days before, on Wednesday, September 7th, even today on Friday, the 9th, things still felt new. Students were only just beginning to pick up their new routines for the year, and adjust to having to wake up early every morning, rather than being permitted to sleep until noon like they could do on those summer days that they would reminisce about for the next eight or nine months. Although Elijah had been through this ritual for many years now, given that he had gone to Brentwood since kindergarten, and had started a new year on this specific Brentwood campus since sixth grade, he was no different from the majority students regarding that. It still felt wrong for him to be waking up at seven in the morning, rather than one in the afternoon, and to be pulling into the school's student parking lot, rather than the parking lot for the beach. For many obvious reasons, starting school again sucked, but it wasn't all bad in Eli's eyes. He had a lot of friends, and socializing was always an enjoyable thing for him. Plus, he was one of those students who never struggled in school, so he wasn't all that worried about the advanced courses he was taking this semester. He was only just beginning his third day of senior year, and he was already convinced that it was going to be a year that he could just cruise through, like he had done for the past three years of high school.

With Alessia in the passenger seat, Eli pulled into the student parking lot around 8:15 and hopped out of his BMW X5 M. "Listen, Ali. You heard Mom. Don't be getting your ass into any trouble today, all right? It's Friday and I know you and your little sophomore friends think you're gonna be able to party and shit this year, but that's not how it works. Only one of us can get away with that, and we both know that person is going to be me." He was half kidding, and purposely being obnoxious to get under her skin, really, though. Being obnoxious was one of Elijah's most well known talents, and if anyone had been subjected to it to know it proficiently, it was the girl who had lived in the same house as him for her entire life. As they approached the school's quad, that was already highly populated with students, Eli continued. "And you know what, if you keep yourself out of trouble, maybe, just maybe, I'll snag an invite for you and your weird little friends for Tim's party tomorrow," he offered, still purposely being annoying, as if he was doing her a huge favor. Though he knew that Alessia could just show up and get in, if she really wanted to, given that Timothy would never be an ass and reject her, he was sure that Ali was wanting, if not planning, on going. Timothy had a history of using his house as the unofficial "first party of the year" site, and this year, he was planning a "stoplight party". It was a party that was meant to physically demonstrate your relationship status, hence "breaking the ice" without actually having to do anything. If you wore green, it meant that you were available. Yellow symbolized something in between taken and available, as if it were a label for "it's complicated" (though Eli always took yellow as being equivalent to green), and red meant that you were unavailable. Although he knew that no matter what the theme was, things were always fun when Timothy was hosting, he was especially excited for this year's party, and as he and his sister entered the quad, he texted his fellow blonde friend saying, "On campus yet? Everything set for tm?"

Alessia couldn't wait until she could drive the car her parents had waiting for her in the garage.

Don't get her wrong - between her brother and a few good friends whose cars she was willing to be seen in, she could get to wherever she wanted. Make no mistake about that. And she appreciated their efforts, honestly she did. But the one thing she couldn't wait for was to have her own car and to be her own transportation. Granted, it wouldn't technically be her car as her father would more than likely be the one whose name the car was in, but the point was that it would be Alessia's and she wouldn't have to deal with being at the mercy of someone else. Eli, when he decided to be ass and not the occasionally (read: rarely) super awesome, magnificent and wonderful brother that he could be, did not help the situation. The school year had just started, but he had already threatened her love life four times in the last two days, not to mention teased her about the stupid traffic light party Tim was throwing on Saturday. As if he was ever going to stop her from attending the first and one of the hottest parties of the year!

"Really? I must've heard that wrong," she replied dryly, making sure to post the ootd picture she had gotten one of the pool cleaning staff to take of her before partaking in breakfast on Instagram and Twitter. Alessia stepped out of the car while swinging her MCM backpack into its place on her back, shutting the passenger door behind her before turning to face her brother on the other side. "Wait a minute - of course, I heard it wrong...I can't hear anything over your massive ego and audacity. And if you think for a second that I don't already have an invite to the first party of the year, maybe its you who needs me to snag you something like, I don't know, a clue." Alessia knew she was just rising to the bait that Eli had laid out for her, but it wouldn't be their relationship if she didn't do so every once and awhile. Plus, it kept things fun between them, something for her to hold onto when Elijah actually decided to be a douchebag, cock-block of a brother who didn't understand what boundaries and equality were.

Now that they were on campus, though, she didn't really have to deal with or entertain him. So, without further adieu, Alessia - feeling satisfied with her rebuttal - turned on the heels of her wedges - and headed into the direction of the main school building, talking over her shoulder, "Btw, don't wait up for me. Heading shopping after school with friends and before you even say a word, I already asked Daddy." As stereotypical as it was, they both had their particular parent wrapped around their fingers: Eli had their mother, which Ali had always found particularly upsetting since she and her mother should obviously have more in common but whatever, and Ali had their father. It helped, much like she consistently rubbed in Eli's face, that she had the one who was most commonly home wrapped around hers. While both of their parents were super busy and did their best to be home as often as they could, it was mostly (from what Alessia gathered) her father who was at the home office working on paper work while her mother was regularly required at the hospital whether she was instructing or helping with patients. Such a hectic schedule on her mother's side gained Ali more allowance money, with a bit of batting her lashes, from her Dad. Once a bit away from Eli, Ali pulled her Galaxy S7 to text her two fencing buddies, Gigi and Chloe, along with a few other friends such as her bestie, Laylah. It was still a surprising friendship, but one Alessia could appreciate since...well, she was a big girl. She could accept that she was a bit much and anyone who loved her regardless (since it was hard not to love her when she had so many lovable traits) was a keeper.

"Sorry, sorry!" Kat exclaimed, the moment she pulled open the car door. Though she was one of those people who were serial offenders for being late, it wasn't like she wasn't apologetic about it. If it was only Timothy in the car, she likely would have taken at least another ten minutes getting out, but with his sisters waiting, and especially Kayleen, she did feel the need to express her remorse. She knew Michaela well enough by now, but she had only just met Kayleen a few days ago, and she still felt the need to make a good first impression to the girl. "I'm here. My contacts were like, absolutely on the verge of forcing me to stay home today, by some miracle, I got them in, so here I am!" she explained, at a speed that was a few paces faster than normal, as she got situated in the back row of the car. She rummaged through her backpack for only a minute, before locating a bag of chocolate chip cookies that her stepmother had sent her out the door with. It had been a compromise, really, considering that Katherine had used her contacts-catastrophe as an excuse for why she had no time to eat breakfast. Elaine likely knew that Katherine wasn't going to consume all of the cookies with no pressure from the woman breathing down her neck, but she hoped that her stepdaughter would at least have one to put something into her stomach for the morning. Katherine had no intentions of eating the cookies, and instead, tossed them into the console in between Timothy and Michaela, saying, "Elaine wanted me to give you these, Tim. Meredith made them yesterday, and she remembered that you liked them last time you were over," she explained falsely, referencing the family's personal chef. It was a good sign that at this point in Katherine's life, she actually would feel a tinge of guilt when she did something that she knew wasn't healthy, but she pushed that thought aside as she reminded herself that she had brought a bottle of SunLife pressed juice with her, that would act as breakfast. It wasn't as filling as a real breakfast, but it was definitely better than consuming nothing, and for Katherine, willingly consuming anything was a big step anyway.

"So, how are you liking California so far?" she said, turning to Kayleen, then. Though Katherine was generally selective with who she befriended, it was a no brainer to her that she make an effort with Kayleen. For one, the girl was pretty, and being attractive and socially acceptable was important to Kat. Secondly, she was Timothy's sister, so that automatically meant that she felt like she had to be nice, and thirdly, she had taken Timothy insisting that Kayleen probably wouldn't like anyone, as a bit of a challenge because she felt like she was impossible to dislike. She wanted to prove him wrong, so allowing Kayleen to not like her simply wasn't an option. "If you're not doing anything later, you should totally hang out with Tim and I. We're going to go shopping, right?" she said, her head than turning quickly back towards the front row of the car. The "right" part wasn't so much as to confirm that those were the plans, but to tell him that those were the plans, because she didn't plan on accepting no for an answer. Timothy had gotten out of shopping with her last weekend, but she wanted to make sure that their red outfits for Saturday were perfect.

"Yeah, yeah, shopping. Wouldn't miss it for the world," Timothy answered, his voice purposely strained as if the idea of shopping was truly agonizing. Sitting on a chair outside of the dressing room, and haven't to nod that yes, that outfit looked great, wasn't his idea of fun, but he didn't dread it that badly. He liked making Katherine happy, so a few hours of boredom would be worth it in the end. "You're more than welcome to come, Kayleen," he added, looking at his sister through the rear-view mirror momentarily as they drove, before adding, "Though, you'll have to clear, like, five hours, out of your schedule, because this one likes to try on every single thing in every single store." It was a jab at Katherine in response to her demanding-ness, but also an attempt to lighten things up, considering that Kayleen remained silent, still. She paused for another few seconds even, after Timothy said that, before cracking a smile, that mostly came out of her desire to seem polite. "I appreciate the invite, but I'm actually good on clothes," she insisted. She did want to go shopping at some point, but she was content with waiting for her own car to arrive, so that she could do it on her own. Her father had already offered, her stepmother had already offered, and this offer from Katherine and Timothy wasn't welcomed any better than the other two. Kayleen was just still in that mindset where she didn't want to adjust to living in California. She didn't want to warm up to her "new" family, or make any friends, or allow herself to feel even remotely comfortable here, because she didn't want to consider this place home. It wasn't home. She was uprooted from her own home and forced to live here, with a family that would never be her real family.

"Oh, don't believe him! I do not take five hours, and you have to come, Kayleen! A girl can never have enough clothes and you don't want to be the only person sitting home alone on a Friday night! Just come! I'll invite more people, it'll be fun! Have you met Gabby yet? Or Nat? I'll see if they'll come. You'll totally love them!" she exclaimed, a hand instinctively reaching across the empty seat in between them to grab Kayleen's wrist, out of a mixture of excitement and the desire to get Kayleen to say yes. Katherine was a physical person by nature, so she often forgot how some people found being touched and hugged and grabbed to be off-putting. She only pulled her hand away to make good on her claim, as she pulled her phone out from her backpack to text Gabrielle and Natalia.

To: Gabrielle
GABBY <3! Shopping after school? Tim's new sister is going to come!

To: Natalia
HI NAT! You might not remember but I totally feel like you promised that you would go shopping with me and Timothy and his sister tonight, and if you back out I will totally be so offended and never want to talk to you again.

Tim knew that Katherine was only being friendly and good natured, but as made apparent earlier, Kayleen made him feel tense, so it worried him that Katherine was coming off as pushy. His eyes remained focused on the rear view mirror for longer than was probably safe, considering he was still driving, as Kayleen eventually agreed to "possibly" come, and Katherine seemed to accept that as an answer. By the time they got to school, Michaela was quick to hop out and disappear, and Timothy was sure that Kayleen would have opted to head into school solo, had it not been for Katherine, again. "What have you been doing for lunch for the past two days? Timothy, I can't believe that you didn't insist that she eat with us! Today, you have to, Kayleen! All of our friends are seriously going to love you!" He was too focused on his phone to jump in sooner, as he sent out a few texts, while slowly walking behind the girls, towards the quad.

To: Elijah
Just got here. Wya? All's good for tomorrow.

To: Sebastian
Got your green ready for tomorrow, man?

It would probably surprise the handful of classmates who had issues with waking up early in the morning to be on time for school, but Natalia had never been much of a late-riser to begin with. As much as she loved lazy days where she could lounge about, particularly after a long week of exercise and cheer practice, the simple truth was that other than a possible cat-nap in between movies or shows, Natalia rarely slept in late. She just couldn't. So, it really wasn't any surprise that by the time her babushka had made sure Sebastian was awake and breakfast was being made, Natalia was just coming back from a run with Shuri, who acted more like a dog than a cat, but Nat couldn't really complain about that. The active feline was her best companion on running and was motivation enough to keep going. They had eaten breakfast, Nat had her second cup of YSWARA's Thousand Hills Majesty Tea, and then two were off on their own ways in the estate to get ready for the day. Knowing the cat, she was either going to see if the kitten was up for some fun since Bucky was energetic first thing in the morning, or was going out on the grounds to run around with whatever toys that were out and about.

By the time the large clock in the foyer read 7:25, Nat was making her way down the front staircase, sliding a headscarf she had stolen from Rhapsody into her hair, the heels of her Francesco Russo ankle boots click-clacking against the pietra-dura mosaic of the floor. "Bas, are you ready?" She called, sending out a quick text to both Katherine and Rhapsody before sliding the newly purchased Diamond Rose edition of her Iphone 7 Plus into the back pocket of her skinny jeans.

In contrast to Nat, the mornings were hard for Sebastian. Not because he slept in a lot, but because of Jamie. Sebastian had spent so many sleepless nights consoling Jamie during an episode that it seems that heโ€™s never quite caught up on sleep. Lately, however, heโ€™s been spending a few more nights at Natโ€™s and it seems as though his sleep is slowly getting better. This morning was one of those mornings where Sebastian canโ€™t help but bury his face deep into a pillow and continue counting his sheep through heavy eye lids. Bas laid belly down on Nataliaโ€™s bed and nuzzled his head into a collection of pillows surrounding him. He stretched his arms out and reached for Natalia but she wasnโ€™t there. He pulled his head away from the massive mountain of pillows Nat insisted on having on her bed and peered his eyes open to see an empty bedside. Bas pouted and rolled onto his back. He peeled away the crust from his eye lids and opened his eyes to see Natโ€™s grandmother walking into the room. She had probably been asked by Natalia to wake the boy up because otherwise, he wouldโ€™ve just slept through the day. He smiled politely as she turned herself around and left. Sebastian jumped into the shower and quickly showered as he waited for Nataliaโ€™s return from wherever she had run off to so early in the morning. He had gotten ready quickly in a casual outfit and made his way downstairs. Natalia was waiting in the foyer, calling out for him. โ€œYeah, Iโ€™m coming. Iโ€™m coming.โ€ He called back, as he trotted down the staircase, fastening his watch to his wrist.

Nat glanced at the nearest mirror, inspecting her own outfit minutely when she heard Bas arriving from behind her. Grabbing the keys and Dolce & Gabbana backpack she had left under the table closest to the front door, Nat turned at hearing his voice, lips slowly forming into a small smirk at the slightly tousled appearance of Sebastian's hair. It was enough that in these last few weeks, Nat was beginning to enjoy the appearance of a just waking up Sebastian a bit too much for a person who was supposed to be just a friend, but the temptation to touch his hair was a bit too much for her, particularly since she was in the comfort of her own home and had no real reason to stop herself from reaching over and at least attempting to tame the short spikes of soft brown hair. "We should probably get going. I'll actually feel just a touch insulted if Kat gets to school before me," she said lowly with a small smile, pulling away but not too far to head towards the door. "We taking your jeep?"

The smirk that spread across Nataliaโ€™s lips stimulated the same across Basโ€™s face. Sebastian loved the innocent parts of Natalia โ€“ the smiles that spread across her cheek when sheโ€™s thinking about him or the way she so innocently wants to touch him, feel him, just to know that heโ€™s really right there. It puts butterflies in his stomach but he wouldnโ€™t admit it. After all, they are just friends. As she turned from him, he frowned. There were parts of him that were okay with being just friends, but then there were parts of him that wake up in her bed in the morning and want nothing other than to snuggle into her and feel her warmth against his bare chest. There were parts of him, like now, that wanted to just kiss her and hold her. As she turned away from him, he grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back into his chest. He craned his neck to look down at her as she fit perfectly underneath him. โ€œHow about, we stay here and just spend the day in bed instead?โ€ His lips pursed into a smile, and as her warm brown eyes looked back at him, he felt himself melting into her. Sure, they were just friends but there were moments like these where just friends didnโ€™t do their label justice. Sebastian wrapped his arms around Natalia and held her tightly to him. โ€œKatโ€™s only going to pull you away from me anyway. Might as well stay here where you can stay with me as long as youโ€™d like.โ€ Sebastianโ€™s grin grew across his still sleepy face.

Nat wasn't shocked, per say, to feel the hand that wrapped itself around her wrist, but she wasn't exactly able to stop the barely discernible and surprised hitch of her breath when she was pulled back against Sebastian. The second their eyes met, though, she was doing something she rarely did - giggling and so much so that the laughter made tiny wrinkles form on her nose. Nat was used to chuckling, letting out a loose variant of laughing, or just flat-out laughing at her friends' antics or jokes. However, one of her newest capabilities in the last two years has become giggling and it's been mainly caused by Sebastian, a fact that steadily makes her want to duck away and hide. Regardless of how much she had cared about her exes, these feelings Sebastian was able to drudge up from within her - the fluttering in the pit of her stomach, an unnecessary desire to smile like an idiot just like she would tease Kat for, the entirely strange insurgence of random joy - were all still new, foreign. And absolutely terrifying.

"I'd love that," she admitted, biting her lower lip softly and reached up with her free hand to mess with the buttons of his Henley top, sighing. It was a tempting thought. Natalia could catch up pretty quickly in any class that she wanted to, always had been able to. She wouldn't be able to say she was perfect at everything since that was unrealistic, but she wasn't new to wanting to miss school and doing so. At the same time, it was still technically early (they literally had only started two days ago, after all) for her to be skipping. And then she'd have to do some explaining...which was the main and only reason she was convinced that she needed to sit through several hours of school when she was being given the chance to take all of these clothes back off, specifically when she was pretty sure she could get Bas to do the same. "However, Baba's not letting that happen any time soon and I'm a big girl, but even I'm not bold enough to face that stare down this early in the game." Or the sparring match Tatiana would more than likely propose since, if Nat could take the time to not go to school, she could surely entertain a sparring match to see what Tatiana's money had paid for. Which was just...no.

Sebastian groaned, rolling his neck dramatically. โ€œFine, I guess we can go.โ€ He jokingly whined and Nat chuckled. Bas peered over both his shoulders, and then looked back at Nat. โ€œHave to make sure your babu isnโ€™t around before I do this,โ€ Bas craned his neck further and leaned down, pressing his lips against hers and kissing her softly. Nat didn't even pretend to not sigh into it and almost took back her desire to leave the house, but refrained, pressing back gently but not fully deepening it like she wanted to. Eventually, Seb pulled away and smiled. โ€œNot trying to get hit or anything,โ€ He chuckled, making her roll her eyes, and pulled away to make his way towards the door. Sebastian opened the door to Natโ€™s house and waited for her to walk by and then followed her to his car, where he opened the passenger side door for her to get in. He followed her into the car and made their way to school.

By the time the two of them were parked in Sebastian's usual parking spot, Nat was only halfway regretting not choosing to brave Tatiana's abrasive yet motherly tendencies in favor of spending the day in bed with Sebastian. Even the fact that it wouldn't be long until she saw a few of her friends wasn't enough to dispel the lingering sense of longing for her pillows and the sounds of the ocean she can hear if all of the windows of her bedroom were open. The thought enough made her roll her eyes in displeasure at the sight of Brentwood, but a second later her usual blank expression had returned in lieu of the classmates who walked by or glanced at Sebastian's jeep.

"Oh, hey look," she exclaimed, though the actual serious excitement in her voice was lacking as she nodded in the direction of Eli's vehicle. Leave it to him to actually be on campus early this time in the semester. Nat gave him another three weeks or so, and he'd be running late due to the hangover he was bound to have from the night before or simply not feeling like getting out of bed. She turned back to Sebastian, knowing full on well his true feelings for the blonde, to add teasingly, "It's your boy, Eli. Need me to give you two a moment for your budding romance or nah?" The inquiry was spoken with a sly grin as Natalia scooped up her bag and phone so that she could avoid the shove that would, no doubt, come her way from Sebastian. Still with the grin on her face, Nat closed the passenger door and met Bas at the front of the jeep, chuckling at the expression on his face. "But seriously though, you're not allowed to skip tomorrow's party. It's your last first party of the year and I, for one, am not gonna be there laughing at everyone else getting drunk off their asses without you," she told him, wrapping an arm around his waist so that she could fit back under his arm like before.

Sebastian thought about all the nights spent with Natalia over the summer. His mind often goes back to the night when they first had sex, they solidified more than a friendship between the two of them. Theyโ€™ve been pretty much living that part in secret but it hasnโ€™t stopped the fire between them. It was never intentional but after a few drinks, everything seemed possible between the two. Their close friendship couldโ€™ve been in jeopardy had either of them been sober but for some reason, the alcohol helped soften the blow of the acts. Though how they came to be something a little more than friends isnโ€™t exactly how either of them wouldโ€™ve wanted, the very fact that they are an item โ€“ whether in secret or not โ€“ makes him happy. Sebastian would love to make something more of their relationship but heโ€™s not too sure how Nat feels about it and heโ€™s never been good at expressing these types of emotions so she has no clue how he really feels. They never really talk about it.

Now, Sebastian pulled into his usual parking spot and playfully rolled his eyes with Nataliaโ€™s comment about Eli. She knew very well how she felt about him but she loved taking soft jabs at her best friend. He smirked and got out of the car and met Nat in front of his jeep. Her arms wrapped around his waist and she fit herself against his chest, under his chin again. Sebastian pulled his hands from his pockets and wrapped them around the girl. Sebastian groaned โ€“ this time for real, and rolled his eyes before looking at the girl. โ€œFine, but Iโ€™m only going because youโ€™ll be there to kill me if need be.โ€ Nat didn't even bother to exclaim how dramatic he was being; just rolled her eyes. Out of the corner of his eye, Bas say Eli walking by and remembered the theme of the party. โ€œWhich reminds meโ€ฆโ€ Unsure of how to bring up the topic of color they should wear โ€“ considering the theme of the party was a โ€˜breaking the iceโ€™ party where the attendee would wear, green, yellow, or red to signify their relationship status โ€“ he figured itโ€™d be best to just not bother. โ€œAre we carpooling to that or should I meet you there?โ€ Sebastian thought that perhaps it's better to not stir the pot right now. The bell rang shortly after his question. Seb started to lean in for a kiss but realized where they were. His action made her tense, though Nat wasn't particularly moving to get away, Bas broke away and smiled at her innocently and apologetically. Leaving Nat to quell the disappointment that she kept from her face. โ€œIโ€™ll see you for lunch?โ€ He asked her as he began making his way towards his class.

Nat watched him go with a frown, but not before seeing Kat walking with Tim and Kayleen. It made her pull her phone out to see the brunette's text, shake her head, before briskly walking to catch up. "Hey, Tim! Hey, kotenok!" She called and when she caught up, Nat gave Katherine a small smirk before turning to Kayleen, nodding gently, "Morning, Kayleen," she greeted before smirking at Tim. "Just missed Bas. Someone decided he wanted to be a good little student and get to class on time." And no, there was no trace of a pout on her face at all, if Nat had any control or say on it.

If nothing else, Elijah wanted it to be known that had he not been such a quick-witted kid, he never would have taught his sister to be, either. That was what he told himself, to satisfy the unfulfilled need to get the last word in their conversation before she scurried off, at least. That thought process was enough for him to convince himself that he had won their little bickering session, since he felt like he had taught her how to bicker in the first place. Call it petty, and that was what it was, but Elijah was petty and competitive, and it showed. He read Timothy's text message, and began to type back, before becoming sidetracked by a group of junior preps who started talking to him. By the time the conversation ended, he saw Timothy and some other friends already heading towards the school building, and he turned away to catch up with them.

"Did I just hear that you're down for a three-way, Nat? Count me in. The only question is, who's going to be our number three, now that you're telling Lennox he's not included?" Elijah said, making his entrance in a way that was oh so typical of him. He sported a smirk, his eyes glistening with interest, as he caught up with them. Had Timothy not been standing right there, he may have been bold enough to assume, aloud, that Katherine was going to be the perfect third member of their little under-the-covers trio, but he had enough respect to leave that fantasy in his mind. Katherine was definitely on his radar, but he was pushing her to the back of his mind for now, given that she was taken, and only because she was taken by his best friend. It it was any other guy, he still would have been all over her. "You know, making a claim like that may just have me ready to trade in my green for yellow tomorrow night, Nat. You need to realize the power of your words before you go making statements like that." Rhys had walked off right before Elijah had made his way over to the small group of friends that were slowly making their way towards the school building, so now, Elijah was left only with Natalia, Lennox, Katherine and Timothy. Though it was very clear that they didn't all get along, Elijah happened to get along with all of them, and he would gloat at that, and remind anyone who wanted to know, that he was very charming and likable, thank you very much. Anyone who thought otherwise, was definitely someone who had tried to hop on his dick but hadn't met his standards. "And if she doesn't want you in hers, I'm sure you and Tim are always down fora good old mรฉnage ร  trois, right, Kat? Got any room for Lennox in that bed of yours?"

Their quad had turned into a trip when Kayleen left, but had gained two new members when Lennox and Rhys approached. Rhys' departure was followed by Elijah's entrance, and though it certainly wasn't a feeling that was consistent among the new group, Timothy was glad to see his friends. Eli was one of the closest friendships that Timothy had ever maintained for his entire youth, and Knox was someone that he got along with as well. He didn't mind his presence at all, even with his arm slung over his shoulder, but Natalia was quick to express that she didn't want him there. Before he could focus on that though, he decided to address Elijah, whose comments were likely going to affect him more personally. Katherine wasn't someone who looked like she possessed much strength, but Timothy was sure that if she was in the right mood when Elijah poked and prodded like that, that he could end up with a few broken fingers, considering that her hand was still clasping his.

"I think that I can speak for the both of us when I say that Knox isn't really our type," Tim said, a playful smirk on his face, before turning his head to look at Knox, who was still at his side, and flashing him a more apologetic look, though it was still meant light-heartedly. "Sorry, man, but I guess it's obvious that you can count me out for the pre-party. Gotta get my place ready, but I'm sure there will be a lot of green by the time you get there. What about Rhys? Too close to home to ever be green in your eyes?" he inquired, noting that the girl had walked off a minute or so before. Timothy wasn't personally close with Rhys, and really only knew her through association, but he was aware of how frequently Lennox could be seen with the girl. He suspected that they were platonic, and like he said, had some relationship that made a real relationship seem off limits, but it was only now that he was actually asking Lennox about it. While he was curious to some degree, he also felt like turning the conversation to something that would put Lennox in more of the spotlight would be better. Elijah and Lennox both had a personality where they enjoyed being assholes, basically. They liked to be obnoxious and cocky, regardless of how uncomfortable it made anyone else feel, and while Timothy did find it to be amusing, and was actually rarely bothered by it himself, he knew that others weren't always so thick-skinned. Natalia had made it very clear on multiple occasions, and again today, that she wasn't in the mood for Knox, and Timothy doubted that Katherine was appreciating what was coming out of Elijah's mouth either.

"Hey, Knox," Katherine greeted, only surprised for a second by the sudden physical presence of him at her side. Her voice was much perkier and reflecting of her happiness at seeing him, than Natalia's was. That wasn't something that shocked Katherine, though, as she was well aware of how Natalia wasn't Lennox's biggest fan. Kat understood where Natalia was coming from, to an extent, but she was never as bothered by Lennox's cockier side. In Katherine's opinion, she had seen far worse, but maybe that was also because she had seen his kinder, more down to earth and friendly side, too. He was much easier to like when you knew that he wasn't an ass twenty-four-seven. Elijah was a little less welcomed in her opinion, but she wasn't capable of being outright rude to him, given that they weren't enemies, and Timothy had taken the initiative to respond to Elijah's questions about their sex life, before she had to do so directly. "I don't think I could have a threesome with two guys. Like, I think I would want one of them to be a girl, right?" she said, looking to Nat only, as if another female's opinion would be the only one that really counted, and following Timothy's lead in trying to dispel the tension, because she didn't want Nat to run off. Katherine wasn't an overtly sexual person to begin with, and she definitely wasn't interested in having a threesome to begin with, but the proposal made her ponder the subject more than she had in the past. However, she was aware that she was asking Natalia, someone who was far more comfortable with her own sexuality. "But I don't think I would want my boyfriend touching another girl either, so how is that even supposed to work?" Although she was very tempted, she held her tongue against pointing out that if Nat were to have a threesome with Sebastian, Katherine would bet a million dollars that he would want the third person to be another guy, because he just seemed to swing "that way", as if it would be one more reason for why Natalia shouldn't want anything to do with him. Katherine was ignorant, and that mere thought reflected it, but she wasn't completely idiotic, and knew no that she needed to back off, even just a little, from pressing Natalia on the Sebastian subject for a little while. "And Kayleen's definitely going to be wearing green tomorrow, right, Tim?! Knox, she should totally be on your radar, but not if you're going to be mean to her. She's totally going to be one of my new best friends within the next week, and I will not stand for you breaking her heart!" Katherine exclaimed with a mixture of excitement and dramatics, at the thought of how she was convinced that she could get Kayleen to magically go from seeming indifferent towards her, to loving her in the next few days.

As the boys began to chat, Kat released her grip on Timothy's hand and squirmed out from under the arm that Lennox had over her shoulder, in favor of linking arms with Natalia. Again, it was partly an attempt to make sure that Nat didn't think she could run off before classes started to go catch up with Bas again, but also, partly because she just preferred her friend's presence over being in the middle of guy talk. "And FYI, I plan on getting drunk enough tomorrow that that strip tease might actually be a reality," she said, playfully matter-of-factly, since she knew that Natalia had suggested it as retribution for her pressing the Sebastian topic. As her locker was located near Nat's, Katherine found it appropriate to pull the girl a few paces ahead of the boys, since they would end up going in different directions anyway. "But speaking of pre-parties, what are we doing? You're either coming to Lennox's house, and crashing that, or I'm coming to your house. Girls only, in that scenario," she said, knowing that Natalia would know just who she was purposely excluding, before piping up, "Unless Gabby wants us to come to her house."

Thank God it's Friday!"

Location: The Brentwood School
Outfit: x
Mood: Motivated
It was Friday. Finally. That "finally" was thought with less emphasis than it would in two or three weeks from now, given that this was the first Friday of the school year, and the week had only consisted of Wednesday through Friday this week, but still, Gabby was no different than any of her peers in that weekly countdown to the last day of the school week. Her outfit today was casual, but it was Friday after all, and Gabrielle had always treated Friday's as dress-down days. Besides, overall, she didn't treat school as a runway. One would imagine that as the Queen Bee, she would always be trying to one-up people and look like she had just stepped out of a fashion show, but that wasn't what Gabrielle was about. She did like looking nice, and yes, she certainly dressed better than most of her peers, but a lot of her appeal came from being effortless. She didn't like to try hard, because she felt like that in itself was tacky and defeated the purpose of it all. Her focus was on herself. If she thought that she looked good and would be comfortable for the day, than that was her top priority. It helped, though, that she didn't own many clothes that would be seen as raggedy or too casual to begin with, so "dressing down" was all relative to her typical style.

Her morning routine was nothing special, and though her mother and stepfather were both already on their way to work by the time that she finished getting ready, and headed into the kitchen for breakfast, the emptiness of the house didn't feel overwhelmingly unwelcoming. On one hand, Gabrielle was still getting used to the move into this new house, to accommodate her mother's new marriage to Sergey, but at the same time, she couldn't be so dramatic as to paint the scene as her being some emotionally neglected girl, forced to fend for herself. She actually preferred not having to socialize with either of them in the morning, mostly because even though she had already been awake for an hour or so, she was still pretty irritable after being forced out of sleep by her alarm. Her mother had left her a fruit smoothie in the fridge, and along with a granola bar that sat on a note reading, "Happy Friday! Have a good day โ˜บ! โ™ก Mom", she was set for breakfast. It took her only a few minutes to finish eating and head out to school, and luckily, living only four miles away meant that even with morning traffic, it only took her around fifteen minutes before her Range Rover was parked in the student lot.

She had a good amount of text messages waiting for her by the time she was out of her car, but she didn't have time to even open them, before a familiar BMW pulled up beside her, and out stepped fellow senior Royal, Yvette. "Hey babe!" the brunette greeted her with, a bright smile on her face as the two began to walk towards school. "Perfect timing, huh? If I wasn't all the way in Thousand Oaks, I would say we should totally carpool." Gabby shook her head, smiling still, though, only to signal that it was no big deal. "It's no biggie. You know I like having my car on campus anyway. It makes it easier to get out of here once the day's over, which, I'll admit, I'm already counting down the minutes for." Normally, Gabby didn't mind school, but today, she was feeling more antsy for the weekend to come. She didn't even have any spectacular plans, other than Timothy's party tomorrow night, but she was simply still functioning in summer-mode, and it was proving to be a struggle for her to switch back into her school mentality this week. "Hey, I'm right there with ya, sister!" Yvette exclaimed, an exasperated sigh following it. "I cannot believe that we already have an English paper due on Wednesday. Like, can they not give us one weekend off before sending us into the fiery pits of stress-hell?" Gabrielle laughed at the girl's dramatic antics, especially when her gaze shifted from her phone, once she finished reading her text messages, and looked to Yvette to find that she too had been distracted, but not by her phone. The makeup guru was busy herself, applying more lip gloss and checking herself out in her compact mirror, a move that seemed to be Yvette's signature thing. She didn't miss this - the socializing and friends - part about school, that was something she could say, at least. "Ooooh, there's John!" The girl nearly squealed when she finally put her makeup back into her purse. "Okay, okay, how do I look? I told you about how he's been hitting me up nonstop all week, right? I've got that boy right where I want him, Gabs. Let me go work my magic and you can bet that by the time I'm done, this boy's going to be showing up to Cargill's party wearing firetruck red!" Gabby could only shake her head and stifle the laughter that always seemed to come when she was talking to the always-animated Yvette, before the girl hurried off in the boy's direction.

Gabby was left alone, but only for a minute, for as she continued walking up towards the school building, she came across more of the A-listers that she frequently associated with. Though they were somewhat separated into two groups by the time that she caught up to them, the group had at least originally seemed to consist of Elijah, Timothy, Lennox, Natalia, and Katherine. "Good morning, boys," she said, only in passing, though she allowed herself enough time beside them to give Timothy a gentle squeeze to his shoulder, as an additional greeting for him. The way that it could have been even categorized as a caressing motion definitely meant that it was unnecessary, especially when considering that Katherine was only a few feet away, and was her friend, but Gabrielle wasn't necessarily trying to be flirtatious. If anything, it came from a subconscious level of territorial-ness that she felt around people. Now that she was freshly single, it certainly did irk her, even just a little bit, that the boy that everyone constantly thought she was dating, was now officially dating someone else. It was that FOMO in her head, telling her that Katherine had "stolen" Tim from her, despite Gabby knowing very well that she never did, and to this day, still did not, have any romantic feelings for him. She didn't allow her hand to linger for more than a second or two, though, before moving past the boys and catching up with the two junior girls. "My babies!" she exclaimed, somewhat teasingly, as she walked with them. "I just got your text, Kitty, but I think that I can fit some shopping in tonight. Are you coming, Nat, or is cheerleading already taking over your life again?"

"Awwww, babe, I do know the power of my own words," Nat said after smirking, turning just slightly to full on stare at Eli teasingly. "You're already here and willing, from what I can see." Elijah came as a welcome distraction. While it was easy for Nat to ignore anyone and even pretend as if they didn't exist, on a surface level, a physical distraction actually helped better. She didn't care that the others got along with him in their own little ways. At the end of the day, she didn't and while she didn't expect for anyone to cater to her, she also didn't have time to pretend just because everyone else was all kumbaya and whatnot. Besides, Nat could genuinely say that she liked Elijah. While she wasn't fooled into thinking he was the greatest thing since ice cream, he had...just a touch of grace left in him, though she'd never tell him that to his face considering how much his ego was already the size of the globe. She wasn't adding to that mass any time soon. She didn't, however, hesitate in letting Katherine pull her just shy from being too close to the boys so that they could be ahead as the group began to migrate towards the school building.

"Really, Kat, ultimatums?" Natalia had to inquire, not particularly in disbelief as it would be something that Kat did when she felt like Nat was willing to abandon her. Which she wasn't. She had - kinda - already agreed to going shopping; somebody had to make sure Kat didn't have a fit in the middle of the mall because she wasn't liking the way some of the bikinis fit her. Nat snorted at the thought, though she wouldn't be surprised if Kat took it as a negative towards the idea of going to Knox's place. Which wasn't happening. Natalia would flat-out abandon her friend, invite Rhapsody and Anastasia to her place only, and have a girls' pre-party spectacular just to have something to taunt Katherine with via social media. And everyone knew that between the two of them, Nat wasn't even the most active on any of her social media accounts. "My alcohol is better," she said decidedly, only slightly petulantly. It helped that she didn't like everyone's typical vodka brands considering they were weak and that she could make the sweet drinks Kat liked, and even that Tatiana would be going out to Russia for the weekend for some dinner tomorrow.

What probably shouldn't have happened was Nat glancing backwards for a moment, not because she was trying to spy on the boys behind them, but because she was genuinely curious if Gio was going to make it to school. While she had already questioned the state of both his sobriety and inebriation, he was an asshole. He could surprise her and his teachers by obstinately refusing not to skip, show up in shades to hide how red his eyes may or may not be, and just be crass and even more intolerable than he typically is. Just as she decided that she was going to text him the second she got to class, Gabrielle had caught her gaze's focus and while Nat did nothing more than turn around when she noticed the girl interact with the boys, a slight nod was the only indication she gave to having seen anything...out of sorts with her particular brand of greeting. A greeting she was pretty sure Kat hadn't even taken notice of by the time the blonde caught up to them.

"Yeah, I'll come. Somebody's gotta make sure kotenok here doesn't max out her card over bikinis," she joked easily at Gabby's question. "I'll make pre-game drinks and snacks at my place for us. Make it a girl's thing. I'll invite Ari before the day is out to see if she wants to come. We can all get ready there and take my Panamera."

There was nothing that annoyed Lennox more than Natalia. Of course, this probably wasnโ€™t true and he could probably create a list of things that annoyed him more than her, but she certainly took top 5, at the very least. Nataliaโ€™s blatant disregard for Lennox only pushed him to push her more. He enjoyed pushing her buttons and setting her off because other than that, thereโ€™s not much Lennox can do to piss her off since she really could not care less about the boy. โ€œListen, even if there was a mรฉnage ร  trois going on here, figuratively or literally, the last thing Iโ€™d want is to be part of it,โ€ Lennox said pushing off of Elijahโ€™s comment about a threesome. Elijah also liked pushing Nataliaโ€™s buttons, only difference was she liked Elijah and not Lennox so between them, it was friendly banter. Between Lennox and Natalia, it was a fire-fueled rage. Lennox continued to push off of Elijahโ€™s commentary, โ€œKat will always have room for me in her bed, the problem is Timmy over here takes it all up.โ€ Tim and Lennox were friends, Lennox and Kat were best friends. She saw things in him that most others didnโ€™t, so the jokes he made were all in good fun and were not be taken seriously. With Timโ€™s decline of the pre-party invite from Tim, he frowned slightly. He wanted to figure out plans but didnโ€™t want to do anything alone. Lennox hated being alone, which was probably where his need to be constantly annoying someone was rooted. When mention of Kayleen fell upon Knoxโ€™s ears, he tensed. His hands withdrew into his pockets and he could feel his cheeks warming up. โ€œOh right, Kayleen will be there.โ€ Knox fought to hold his lips from forming a silly smile but he almost couldnโ€™t help himself. He smirked slightly and tried to play off his crush on the girl. โ€œI guess I could give her the time of day. And I wouldnโ€™t break her heart, Iโ€™m a sweetheart, Kat.โ€ Sarcasm was Lennoxโ€™s second language, it came to him naturally and as much of a dick as he seemed, Kayleen was different to Lennox. He actually had feelings for her which was weird for him, which is why he felt embarrassed by the mention of the girl. Nat and Kat walked ahead the boys a few steps and Lennox knew this would be the best opportunity for him to discuss women. โ€œSheโ€™s your sister, Tim,โ€ Lennox said, in regards to Kayleen. โ€œI know you guys have a weird hate thing going on, but if sheโ€™s off limits, let me know and Iโ€™ll steer clear, but she is cute and Iโ€™d like to talk her up, yanno?โ€

While Lennox stuck around teasing his friends and being teased by not his friends, Rhys was making her way through the halls of Brentwood. She knew the bell would ring soon and as much as she wanted to stick around and talk to people, she had a thing about being late. She hated not being punctual and was the type of person to be early to being early. Around Rhysโ€™ neck was a Canon EOS 5Ds that she had gotten as a gift from her father earlier this year; a gift he bought her because he felt guilty for not being around often. Rhys understood he was a military man and therefore, wouldnโ€™t be around often and she never did anything to guilt him into gifting her, but he did anyway โ€“ and Rhys wasnโ€™t going to deny the upgrade from an old Nikon she had. She looked through the camera roll, through the pictures she had taken throughout the week. Pictures of students doing work in the library, sitting in the courtyard at lunch, students laughing with each other, falling in love with each other, meeting each other for the first time; pictures that told stories and pictures that had no meaning. They made her smile, even though there was little to be told from them and it was up to her to create a story, they made her happy still. Rhys walked through the halls, smiling down at her camera. โ€œYou know, usually when you smile at a camera, youโ€™re supposed to be on the other side of it.โ€ Rhys looked up to see Sebastian walking alongside her. She smiled and mockingly laughed, โ€œHa. Ha. Very funny. Iโ€™m just looking through the pictures I took,โ€ she said, as though itโ€™d make him understand her happiness. He smiled and nodded. โ€œYou going to Eliโ€™s party?โ€ Sebastian and Rhys werenโ€™t too close, but he felt the need to make conversation with someone other than Natalia and the guys. If it werenโ€™t for lacrosse, Natalia, or Laylah, Sebastian didnโ€™t have many friends. He felt it important to make friends outside of that small circle as they all knew each other anyway. He knew Rhys enough to know that sheโ€™s accepting of many, and Sebastian thought himself nice enough to be able to befriend people like Rhys. โ€œYeahโ€ฆโ€ She paused, unsure still of her plans. โ€œI donโ€™t know yet. I tend to stay away from the A-list crowd... They can be a littleโ€ฆ raunchy at times and I donโ€™t always fit in with them.โ€ Sebastian nodded again. He understood exactly what it was like to be a part of a crowd that he didnโ€™t always feel as though he fit into. โ€œMakes sense. Well, if you decide to go, Iโ€™ll be there. We can not fit in together. Iโ€™ve got to go this way to class, but Iโ€™ll see you around.โ€ Sebastian smiled at her, tapped her lightly on the arm and walked off before Rhys could say anything. She wanted to so badly question what he meant by โ€˜not fit in together,โ€™ all this time, Rhys couldโ€™ve sworn Sebastian was happy to be an A-lister and thought he fit in perfectly with the wealthy. It made her curious about him. As she watched him go, she noticed Ari sitting in a room, presumably waiting for class to start but there was no one in there with her. The girlโ€™s heart fluttered slightly; Rhys had a crush on Ari but Rhys wasnโ€™t sure the girl felt the same way. She raised her camera to her eye, closing one and placing the other on the lip of the viewing hole, she zoomed into the girl, who sat smiling at her phone, and snapped the picture. There was a part of her that felt weird for taking the picture, but another part of her created excuses in her head. Itโ€™s for the yearbook. Itโ€™s a candid, theyโ€™re not supposed to know. Itโ€™s a natural beauty project. As Rhys battled her inner demons, Sebastian did the same as he walked to his first class. His phone buzzed in his pocket, he pulled it out to see a text from Laylah. He let out a deep breath and rubbed his hand through his hair before sending a text back.

To: Laylah
Same Lay.. I need adviceโ€ฆ Meet me before next class by my locker.. I need help. Iโ€™ll help you if you help me :)

Natalia, Timothy, Katherine and Lennox's responses all had ELijah smirking, but he didn't object to the two girls separating themselves, considering that it gave the boy's a little space to talk about things that the girls who have deemed "disrespectful" or something like that, that would have only made Eli roll his eyes. He waited until after saying hello to Gabby, who passed by them to catch up to the girls after only a second, before addressing what had just come out of Knox's mouth. "Whoa, whoa, whoa," he objected, after Knox spoke, raising his hands as if to say "slow down there". "Hold on, just a minute, Knox. I automatically assumed that we were going with the bro code, that sisters are always off limits, but if Kayleen's fair game for you, then she's gonna be fair game for me too. I mean, if we wanna be technical here, I've known about her the longest, so..." He allowed his sentence to trail off there, though his eyes looked towards Timothy, as if to ask for his agreement on the matter. In reality, Elijah had known of Kayleen's existence for a few years, but it wasn't like he had ever actually known her, to give him some sort of seniority standing to woo her, over Lennox, as if something like that even existed. Besides, considering that there was a part of Elijah that still told him that Katherine, Timothy's girlfriend, was fair game, it wasn't hard to imagine that if Eli was drunk enough, Kayleen would look like she was wearing green to him no matter what she was really wearing, and no matter what Timothy thought of it. He knew it was wrong, and that was why the sober Elijah hadn't considered going for Kayleen until now, when Lennox was the one being direct enough to ask Timothy if he would feel weird about it.

If the answer was that Timothy didn't care, and that Lennox was right that he disliked his half-sister more than he cared about her, than Eli would be adamant in at least challenging Knox to see which of them could talk the blonde's pants off the quickest. If the answer was that Timothy would feel weird, and would prefer that neither of them make an attempt with Kayleen, than Eli could still feel superior in being able to gloat about being the true good friend, given that he could have asked about Kayleen long ago, but knew better. Now that he was really thinking about it, though, he couldn't see why Tim would care. He barely knew Kayleen more than any of them did, so he couldn't imagine Timothy seeing it as being even remotely comparable to them trying to get with Michaela, his "real" sister. She was just a girl who happened to share a father with him, who he had only lived with for two days. Now, convincing him that Tim was bound to say that they could go for her, Eli talked himself up into believing that if anyone should "welcome" her to California, it should get to be him. Most of the time, he was completely content with embracing how much of a player he was, but now that it would work to his benefit in believing otherwise, he decided that out of the two of them, he was the one who was less likely to break Kayleen's heart over Lennox. He wouldn't want to date her, or be anything with her beyond physical, but he was sure that he could find a way to do it in a way that would make him seem like a gentleman, unlike Lennox.

Make no mistake - Timothy Cargill possessed an ego and some arrogance, much like Elijah and Lennox. However, people who knew him and even just knew of him, likely thought of him in a completely different light than they would Knox or Eli. Simply put, Timothy possessed a personality that was more easy to like than the other boys. His way of being didn't revolve around him being better than others, and he wasn't constantly wearing that ego to a point where that was what he was recognized by. Things rolled off his back easier than they did with the other boys, so he was definitely seen as being more laid back and approachable. That was why the things that came out of Knox and Eli's mouths didn't bother him in the slightest. On one hand, it was true that they didn't bother him because he was so used to hearing things like that, but he also just didn't get worked up over most things. Their comments regarding Katherine fell into that category, and he only shook his head in amusement at Knox insisting that Kat always had room for him in her bed. His smile remained, even as Knox brought up Kayleen, and then, even still, when Elijah jumped in to claim his position as being the best or most entitled suitor for Kayleen, as if this were some time way back when, when men could actually claim something like that over women. The teenage boys were all, to an extent, misogynistic like that, but Timothy was well aware that their comments were coming more so, out of concern for that very same "bro code" that Elijah brought up. Like them, he wasn't even sure if that bro code needed to apply here, because Lennox was right in pointing out that there was some very noticable distance between himself and Kayleen. He didn't necessarily feel like he needed to shield her from anyone or anything, because she was her own person, capable of making her own choices and doing what she wanted. At the same time, the idea of either of these guys "having their way" with her, left a sour taste in his mouth because he knew how both of them were. The last thing that Timothy needed was them upsetting his sister in any way, and him having one more thing to feel guilty about, but at the same time, he didn't think that Kayleen would want him infringing on her business.

It was conflicting for him, considering that he did tend to overthink things like this, and he ran his hand through his hair, as he paused to ponder it for a moment. "I don't really have a problem with it, no," he confirmed, his words still a little bit slower than usual, signaling the uncertainty in the thought. "I will say that I'm pretty sure she has, or had, a boyfriend or something, so I doubt she would be interested, but as long as you're not about to come back to me with all of the details, I'm not telling you don't go for it." It seemed like the best response that he could give as a friend and as an un-involved brother, even if he still wasn't quite sure that it was what he should have done morally. He held, at least a little bit, of trust that both of these friends would be more careful with Kayleen, given her relationship with him, at least.

Once he entered the school building with the boys, the smaller area that they were now in, compared to the large and open outdoor quad, made everything feel more crowded. Katherine and the girls were still only a few steps ahead of them but Timothy was sure that with all of the students beginning to flood the building now, that he was bound to lose sight of them sooner or later. One would have imagined that that would have been no big deal, and that he simply could have texted Kat explaining that he'd see her later, but one who would have imagined that, would have been just a teenage boy with no experience. Timothy knew that that was the kind of thing, while minuscule, that could lead to a girlfriend getting upset, thinking that he ditched her, or didn't care enough to even say goodbye. Surprisingly, Katherine, a girl who was nearly known for her emotional responses to things, wasn't really all that dramatic with things like that. Sometimes, if her mood was right, she could be dramatic, but she wasn't a crazy girlfriend. Not at all. Still, Timothy knew that it was the "boyfriend thing to do", to verbally say goodbye before departing from her for the day, and he was content with that being a part of their morning routine. "I'll be back. Gotta go say bye to Kat, before she's got me picking out a yellow outfit for tomorrow," he said as he departed from the boys.

It's not that Sebastian didn't enjoy hanging around with the other A-listers of Brentwood, much less that he didn't enjoy being one. It's more so the fact that Sebastian is sometimes, simply, exhausted of keeping up with the facade that he does. Truly, the only person that knows all of Sebastian for who he is, is Natalia. It is much less fortunate that aside from all the secrets he's either forced or feels the need to keep, his relationship with Natalia is among them. He struggled with keeping his secrets in the first place. For Sebastian, being something he wasn't took a toll on him. He wanted nothing more to share the truth about his home life, or the lack thereof. However, he knew that had the truth come out about his stint with homelessness, his brother's deteriorating mental health, his barely put together one-bedroom apartment, he'd promptly be cast out of the A-listers - shunned even - and be declared a fake, a poser. Not that he cared much about whether or not he was considered 'a royal' but more so the fact that some of these people are soulless individuals, angry enough to ruin one's life simply because they want to and can. Sebastian's life had been ruined enough and the last thing he needed was to be driven out of the very little he had left. So, he kept quiet about his relationship with Natalia. Although, he still questioned himself on what his relationship with Natalia truly was. It started as nothing more than sex every now and again and developed into something more. The truth is, he'd want more. But he's unsure of what she'd like and how to go about asking for such. Instead, he accepted what he had as is and left it at that. He kept quiet about it all, about every secret he held onto. Rather than exposing himself, he simply escaped the false he lived. He preferred being by himself most of the time anyway, so for him, it wasn't hard to walk from the other A-listers. And Natalia understood that.

This was one of those moments when Bas felt the need to step away. The night before, he had spent the night with Natalia but not before he had to take care of his brother who had a massive schizophrenic episode. Jamie's disease has been diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia; the boy often has auditory delusions and can sometimes experience vivid hallucinations. Most days, he's able to control his reactions towards the disease but this night, JT wasn't able to. He was scared and began lashing out aggressively. In the process, he attempted to run out of the apartment on the fourth floor of the building, and rather than come back into the apartment like Sebastian pleaded with him, he ran down the stairs, causing him to trip and break his leg and fracture his elbow. Jt was taken to the hospital and after spending hours with him, Sebastian finally decided to get some sleep at Natalia's. And now, standing just outside his classroom door alone, just the thought of the last couple of days have exhausted him. He wondered when everything would fall back to normal. When everything would no longer be a fight to survive but rather, an enjoyment of life. As he waited for more students to crowd the halls and fill the classrooms, he messed around on his phone. Wishing, praying, that somehow it'd give him all the answers for his troubles. Luckily, he didn't have to wait long, though he wouldn't know it until later. The phone buzzed in his hands, a text from Greg. I've got a surprise for you. Meet me at the restaurant after school. Bas responded with a simple 'ok' and went into the classroom, sat down, and sent a quick text to Nat before putting his phone away and pulling out his books:

To: Natโ™ฅ
I want to see you. I need you.

Tim broke off from the group of boys and Lennox was left with Eli. Two boys so similar, it's surprising they never attempted to rip each other apart from the throat. Both boys have a playful personality, only some may consider one more heinous than the other in their form of humor. Lennox watched as Tim went then turned his attention back to Eli, "Come man, fuck off with that. You only thought of Kayleen because I brought it up." Lennox knew that no matter what he said to Eli, it wouldn't matter. The girl was fair game and normally Kayleen would be off limits being that she's Tim's sister. This situation was a little different and Lennox wanted to take advantage of that. The minute he laid eyes on her, his heart fluttered a little. Something it hadn't done in so long, Knox thought he was having heart palpitations. He rolled his eyes as he knew fighting the matter would only make it worse. "Whatever man, she'll never go for you anyway. She wants a real man, not just some pretty boy with mush for brains." Lennox said smirking, as he tapped Eli's chest, just to fuck around with him. "Don't worry man, I'll let her you know you make a great best friend." Lennox teased as he slowly started walking away from Eli. He walked along the girls and Tim now. He interrupted their conversation quickly before trotting off to find Rhys. "Kat, when you're done pussy whipping Timmy boy here, come find me. I need you for something."As he walked away, he joking blew a kiss to Natalia, knowing it'd annoy her. He lightly jogged through the halls now to find Rhys; who happened to be at her locker texting back Rhapsody.

To: Rhap
I like food.. where are you? I'll find you

As Rhys waited for Rhapsody to respond, she looked up to see Lennox coming towards her. "Just the girl I needed to see," Lennox smiled as he approached her. "What do you need now, Knox?" Lennox leaned against the wall, facing Rhys. He put his hands up in a defensive manner, "What makes you think I need anything from you? Can't a guy just want to see one of his beautiful best friends?" Rhys raised a brow at him and Lennox gave in. "Okay, fine. I need you to help me with Kayleen." Rhys took a second to figure out who Kayleen was. The name was still so new to her that she struggled to put a face to the name. "Kayleen? As in, Kayleen Cargill?" Lennox nodded and Rhys continued, "As in, Timothy Cargill's sister? Your close friend, Tim?" Lennox nodded again, this time with a shy smile on his face. Rhys stood momentarily confused. "And what could you possibly need my help with that for? Can't you get girls all on your own? You are the infamous Lennox Atwood, afterall." Lennox pulled away from the wall and stood up straight, he rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "This girl is different, Rhys. She's not like these other girls who would kill to be at the top of the totem pole for a day. She's already there and she doesn't care about you if you're not. She'll never notice me unless I give her reason to." Rhys looked into Lennox's pleading face, "So? Then give her reason to." Lennox groaned what sounded like a soft growl. "You know what I mean Rhys." Rhys rolled her eyes, crossed her arms and sighed. She leaned back against the wall and give the boys plead a thought. She reluctantly nodded, "Fine, I'll help you. But how?" Lennox immediately smiled and wrapped his arms around her, gave her a kiss on the cheek "Ugh, I love you. Thank you! You're the best. And I don't know, you're smart. You'll think of something." Lennox ran off while yelling back at her, "Tomorrow. At the party!" Rhys smiled to herself, thinking: What a loser. Lennox finally met his match, a girl who couldn't care less about getting in his pants.

Today's physical education class had taken place on the athletics field, rather than inside of the school's gymnasium, because this week's gym topic was kickball. Being pretty competitive meant that Elijah was really up for any sport that they played in class, but he did enjoy this one more than some of the others. The class was divided into two teams of thirteen each, with Team A including Eli, Ari, Rhapsody, Kya, Rhys, Samuel, Sebastian, Katherine, Laylah, two other sophomores, another junior, and another senior, and Team B including Timothy, Natalia, Tristan, Zara, Alessia, Gabrielle, Giovanni, Lennox, Kayleen, three other seniors, and a junior. Because it would take five minutes for the students to jog back to the main campus from the fields, and they needed time to change out of their gym clothes in the locker rooms, their gym teacher, Mr. Lessig, yelled out onto the field that the next student up would be the last kicker for the day. With a tied score, Elijah grew tense with that call, considering that his team was currently playing the field, and that meant that their fate was in the hands of either how poorly the kicker on the other team was, or how well they could play the field.

When he saw that Tristan Castiel-Castellan was the next kicker in line, Eli's fears seemed to disappear as his signature smirk appeared on his face. "Bring it in, boys!" he said, acting as the self-appointed team captain that no one else had really agreed on, as he looked back towards the two sophomore boys, and a junior boy, who were playing the outfield. He knew that it wasn't nice, but in his mind, all he could say was "come on, there's no way in hell that this kid can kick". If he could, it would be one of those underdog moments from out of a movie, but Eli wasn't even considering that that was a possibility. Tristan was a meek, harmless boy who seemed like he would be the type to run away from the ball, if anything, so Eli was already content with thinking up teasing remarks that he could send in Timothy and Knox's direction once they hit the locker rooms.

The bases weren't fully loaded, but the opposing team had runners on first base and second base, so Elijah knew that unless Tristan's kick was caught in the air, all he needed to do was to make a kick that gave the runner on second enough time to make it home. Again, Eli was certain that that wasn't a possibility and that his team had this win in the bag, but he was comforted, at least, knowing that while he pitched the ball out, he had some of his more trusted teammates manning the bases. Just in case, he thought, as he took a breath and then with great speed, rolled the ball in Tristan's direction.

As soon as Mr. Lessig had said that they were going to play kickball for class, Nat had rolled her eyes and honestly been ready to walk out the door had Giovanni not excitedly wrapped an arm around her. The fact that he had managed to skip first period but wind up to school was a miracle in and of itself, but there was no mistaking the scowl on her face despite his exuberance towards the two of them being on the same team. Yet and still, despite her abhorrence for the game (she honestly would have rather had weight management or something of that nature), it wouldn't have been a real game if Nat wasn't feeling competitive and strategic. She didn't exactly call herself captain or anything like that, but there was no mistaking the fact that she was one of the tacticians for Team B. Which was why she bit back the triumphant grin that formed when she had run from second base to home, earning a tied score between both teams. On an exhale, Nat skidded to a brisk walk when she heard the teacher exclaim that this last kick would be the last one. It was good for her because she was starving and considering the fact that Gio was sprawled out on the grass along the sidelines looking like a bored five year old, she figured was just that time to have lunch anyway.

However, Nat's eyes narrowed on Tristan being forced to leave the sidelines to take up the kicker position and sighing because she genuinely wanted the water bottle she was forcing Gio to stand (well, lay) beside, she jogged lightly to be able to catch Tristan just before he could get into position, gaining a loose grip on his forearm. "Ey, podyshat' v techeniye minuty, nemnogo lyubvi,"{Hey, take a breath for a minute, little love.} she advised quietly, rolling her eyes when Mr. Lessig ordered, "Hurry it up, Santos!". Turning back to Tristan, Nat's eyes softened as she continued, "Ne stavit' vysokiye tseli. Tsel' na nizkom urovne. Kik, gde ona po-prezhnemu igrat', kak i gde Ketrin. {Do not aim high. Aim low. Kick where it's still playable, like where Katherine is.} Even if she wasn't particularly pressed to win, Nat still wasn't pressed to just give Eli an easy win, particularly when she knew what Tristan had to deal with without having to be teased over a small game in gym class. At least if he played it low, the other players would have to scramble to get the ball. It was too much of a gamble for him, of all of their players, to kick high unless they were begging for the ball to be caught. Nat gave Tristan's arm a small squeeze and smiled softly before releasing him and heading over to where the rest of her team was, hearing the tail end of Alessia making a complaint. Nat raised an eyebrow at the blonde, daring her to continue her probably scathing remark about the boy, but the girl only bristled, huffed dramatically, and then folded her arms. However, she also chose to remain silent. Giovanni snickered.

Awwwwwwww," he cooed at her, handing her the water bottle that Nat took several strong pulls of water from. "Mama Nat taking care of one of her babies." She turned a scrutinizing stare at the attire he had haphazardly tossed into his bag on a rush out the door and shook her head, smirking as she replied, "Don't project your mommy kink on me, durochka. Not interested." Gio pouted. "You wound me, Natty baby. I thought you loved me." Nat snorted wryly, which only prompted a small whine of "Say you love me!" followed by Mr. Lessig demanding that there be silence on the sidelines. Nat only chuckled, ignoring her friend's continued (but quiet) whine for attention as she proceeded to ignore him of paying attention to seeing how the rest of the game played out.

Samuel can do nothing but chuckle at Alessia's lame retorts, "How a girl like Laylah can hang out with someone like you will always confuse me." he simply says with a faint sigh, more disappointed by Laylah's choice of friends than anything else. Alessia's sharp comments about Samuel's social standing and wealth may have stung a little if it had been said by someone who actually had substance in his life, but as it was Alessia spouting pure rubbish and just trying to get under his skin, Sam decided to not give her the satisfaction of taking offence to it.

Zara, on the other hand, being the typical hot-headed rebel she is, was riled more than enough for the both of them. "Oh honey," she bites back, sarcasm dripping from her voice, "If you think I'm a whore you clearly don't know what big bro gets up to in his spare time." Zara can't help but smirk as she continues, "Believe me, he's been gagging for this but, y'know, I don't wanna catch anything." She manages to get in that last snappy comment before Alessia flounces off, her air self-entitlement disappearing with her. "Kids these days." Zara says by simple way of explanation, before changing her focus onto Tristan - someone that she had entirely forgotten was even still there - "Aw but Trissy, the funs only just begun." she beams, sending the shy A-lister a wink as she bounces past him and into the school building, hoping to catch up with some of her other friends.

Watching Zara waltz off, flicking a long strand of pitch black hair over her shoulder as she goes, Samuel can't help but somewhat envy that carefree attitude of hers. He wanted nothing more than to not care about what people think, but alas, Samuel was far too insecure for that, especially when it came to the opinion of those he cared deeply for; despite him maybe not being that for her, Laylah was still definitely someone Samuel cared about and therefore her opinion meant a lot to him, so if she felt the same way as Alessia did about him, Samuel would be heartbroken (even more so than he already is). As Tristan also decides to make an exit, Samuel pouts but understands how Zara's energetic personality may have put him off, stays silent. Giving the guys shoulder a squeeze, "I'll see you at break then." Samuel smiles faintly before following after Zara and heading into the school building.

| Fourth Period |

Samuel had never minded sports, despite usually choosing to be a spectator rather than a player (most often at Laylah's games) Samuel did in fact, have a liking for PE. Although his body was suited best for cross country, Samuel was actually rather pleased when Mr. Lessig stated they were going to be playing kickball. Zara, on the other hand, wanted to skip the class all together. Sure she was fit and healthy, but that was down to doing fun exercises like yoga and working out in her gym at home, not playing a ridiculous game of kickball where she would undoubtably get hit by a flying ball - or so she feared. The only thing that made Zara go to the lesson was her competitive side, she hated sports but she loved winning.

"Ah, Miss Sai, so glad you've finally deigned to grace us with your presence." Zara gives Mr. Lessig a small, fake smile as he comments on her surprise appearance as he passes by. It wasn't often that Zara made it to his lesson, not only because PE was certainly not her thing but also because she could not stand the man. He was far too sarcastic for her liking, and while Zara would usually appreciate that in a person, for a teacher she preferred someone more easily riled - that way she stayed entertained.

Pausing for a moment as he walks past, Mr. Lessig scowls at her attire, "You seem to be missing part of your shirt, Zara." he comments, looking at her self-cropped tank top. Zara had taken the regular school tank and cut it so that it just grazed her belly button, deciding upon wearing it with high waisted leggings and a basic pair of Nikes. "Oh, Mr Lessig, the most awful thing happened - I was washing this lovely tank top and it shrunk!" Zara lied, her bottom lip jutting out into a pout as she feigned sadness, "I knew I had your class today so I figured some uniform is better than no uniform, right Sir?"

Samuel does nothing but chuckle as Mr. Lessig walks on with a simple roll of his eyes, of course he didn't believe Zara but the man had better things to do than reprimand a girl he knew adored getting into trouble."I don't know how you always get away with it," he sighs, both impressed and miffed that he could never do something like that. Unlike Zara, Samuel stuck to the school dress code, wearing the kit he was given after they accepted his scholarship; typical school shorts, a white top and basic trainers.

The two are quickly sorted into separate teams, much to their dismay. Samuel is placed onto Eli's team who had decided that he was team leader with no objection from anyone else. Looking around his team for this lesson, Samuel's chest tightens when his eyes land on Laylah. Biting down on his bottom lip, Sam tries to keep his focus on the game happening in front of him but can't help sneaking the occasional glance at Laylah.

Tristan-Castiel slightly stumbled when he was bumped into. The small kid would nod and wave him a goodbye, attempting to make one to Zara as well. He quickly moved towards the Music room, so he could have a quiet place to practice his own music, without being disturbed.

|| Fourth Period ||

Okay, so physical education, was not something Tristan-Castiel was fond of. But still, to keep up his grades, he would be forced to attend. He silently changed into his normal gym outfit, completed by his own Captain America jacket. He silently stood by Sam, and Zara. His sea green/blue eyes would widen when he noticed he was not put on the team of Sam, but with Natalia.....and Alessia. His form would silently move towards the area his team stood. He would hold his jacket closer to him, so he wouldn't be hit by anything. As if it were his own shield.

"Ey, podyshat' v techeniye minuty, nemnogo lyubvi,"
he heard an older female speak. His body slightly tensed up, as he turned to see Natalia. Following her directions, he silently took a breath. ""Ne stavit' vysokiye tseli. Tsel' na nizkom urovne. Kik, gde ona po-prezhnemu igrat', kak i gde Ketrin." the girl spoke again. Tristan-Castiel nodded and would respond. Da! Spasibo Mat' Natal'ya .... YA imeyu v vidu ..... Spasibo Natal'ye! [Yes! Thank you Mother Natalia....I-I-I mean.....Thank you Natalia!] the male would blush a red color as he focused and got into the position. His dark blue eyes would focus on the ball coming from him, aiming as Natalia told him. He bit down on his lip, as he felt the ball come into contact with his foot. He winced, as he saw the ball roll at a rather fast pace, and took off towards the first base position.

"Kat! Wake up!" Ari yelled to the girl who was farther out in the field. She had tried her best to keep a safe distance between herself and Kat during the class. She wasn't actively avoiding the brunette, because even in her stressed out state over their friendship, she knew that the idea of ignoring Katherine was simply unrealistic. She didn't want to ignore her anyway, because as conflicted as she was about the unwarranted feelings that she had developed for Kat, what she was certain of, was that she loved the friendship she had with Katherine. While the girl's quirks got on her nerves from time to time, there was nothing that she could do that her jovial and exuberant personality couldn't act as a remedy for. So, when they were placed on the same team, Ari was good about chatting with Kat throughout most of the time while their team was on the kicking end, since they were just waiting in line for their turn. However, to maintain that distance she needed, she had elected to man third base while Katherine had taken the less involved route of being one of the people playing the outfield... which in her book, essentially meant standing as far away from the action as possible so that she could spend the period texting without Mr. Lessig noticing. Ari was athletic, and even though volleyball was her preferred sport, it wasn't hard for her to get into the right mindset for other games like kickball. She wasn't incredibly competitive about it, but she could keep up with those who did want to win dramatically, and had done her part by catching a pop up ball earlier in the game and tagging out two runners who had tried to make it to third base.

It was the final kick of the day, and with only runners on first and second base, Ari doubted that the other team would score, especially with Tristan kicking. He would have to kick it far enough to allow the runner on second to get to third and then home base in one kick, and though Ari was far nicer to Tristan than a lot of people, she was also realistic. And realistically speaking, Tristan just didn't seem like an athletic kid. If he could make a kick that would get the second base runner to third, Ari would be impressed at just that. Needless to say, part of her wanted to smile when Tristan managed to kick the ball and send it soaring right between first and second base, just so that it was out of reach for the two infielders who dove for it. The idea of smiling vanished quickly when she remembered that her team's win was on the line, and even more quickly when she realized that the ball was rolling right towards the part of the field that Kat was "supposed" to be guarding. A game that looked like it was a surefire win at that point, quickly grew to appear like it would be a hopeless loss. It was all the more frustrating knowing that there were athletic people on their team, like Laylah and Bas and even Eli, though he didn't need any more credit than he already gave himself, and while Ari was hopeful that another teammate was close enough to step in and save them, she wasn't in a position where she could do much, and only bit her lip in anxiety, ready to catch the ball if it was thrown her way.

Sebastian stood in the outfield. He was placed there by his team to ensure that had the opposing team had any super kickers โ€“ though, unlikely โ€“ someone wouldโ€™ve been able to catch the ball aside from the girls who ran from it because they were scared they would break a nail. Most of the time, Sebastian would be into the game, competitive as all hell. Today, his mind was elsewhere and though he was mostly present for the game, he didnโ€™t feel like taking gym seriously today. His eyes wandered from Natalia to Tristan, as the two discussed strategy before it was the boys turn to kick, to Lennox who was so desperately trying to grab Kayleenโ€™s attention. It was almost painful to watch as the boy relentlessly tried sparking conversation with the very uninterested girl. He chuckled to himself and shook his head. As Tristan stepped up to the plate, Bas could hear Eliโ€™s voice, arrogantly calling for the team to move in as it was doubtful Tristan could kick the ball that far, let alone at all. This was the last play of the game before everyone was going to be sent in to change and then head to lunch, and all Sebastian could think about was Natalia and whatever the surprise Greg had for him was. The ball was kicked and was sent directly in Katโ€™s position, who of course was not paying attention โ€“ but neither was Sebastian. From the side lines, Bas heard his name being called out. โ€œSebastian! Katherine! Look alive! Fuckinโ€™ move!โ€ Sebastian snapped back to reality fairly quickly to see Rhys waving her arms trying to grab his attention. As the ball whizzed through the field, Bas looked to see the direction it was headed in, only to notice that the recipient of the ball was down on one knee tying her shoes. Sebastian groaned and pushed off his back foot into a full sprint to catch up with the ball that was moving past Katherine. He picked up the ball as it rolled deeper into the outfield, and launched it over Katherineโ€™s head back into the infield, hoping heโ€™d caught the play in time to put a pause on whoever was rounding the corner of third base to score. Bas was already preparing himself for some shit talk from Eli who always took gym too serious.
He was just waiting for Mr. Lessig to tell them all to hit the showers so he could go eat.

Eli hadn't expected Tristan to be able to kick the ball at all, nonetheless kick it into a perfect spot that gave him, and Gabrielle and Timothy enough time to start running. Eli had automatically spun around to watch the ball head towards Katherine, and had started stepping backwards while doing it, while yelling for her to throw it to home, where he was heading. She was oblivious, and though it took only a few seconds, the amount of time that it took for Bas to step in and grab the ball felt like eons to Elijah. Beads of sweat were running down his forehead, partly due to the heat, but mostly out of stress, as the kickball sailed through the air towards, him but not quick enough. A foot on home base, he caught it just after Timothy had reached him, and Mr. Lessig was quick to shout, "Safe!" to declare a win for the opposing team. "Safe? Are you kidding me? I had at least three solid seconds over him, and you're gonna say that he's safe?!" Elijah was lucky enough that even in the heat of the moment, he was wise enough to refrain from throwing some expletives into his objection, since they were definitely on the tip of his tongue. In reality, Mr. Lessig's call was probably accurate, even though it undeniably was a close call. Timothy's foot had hit home base just a second before Elijah had caught the ball that Sebastian had hurled his way, so at the very least, Eli's claim of him having caught the ball three full seconds before Timothy had even reached the base was dramatic, at best. "Sore loser" was probably the best way to describe Eli at times like this. Given his competitive nature, coupled with his upbringing where he always got his way, losing wasn't something that he knew how to work with, even at seventeen years old. He would never admit that he lost fairly, and somehow, it was always a bad call, or cheating, that had allowed the other team to win, if you asked him.

In this case, he had already proclaimed that Mr. Lessig's call was garbage, but as he turned back to examine his teammates, who were making their way in from the outfield now that the teacher had proclaimed that the game was over, and they could all head back to the locker rooms, Eli also decided that the teams had been separated unfairly. Suddenly, he decided that the other team had ten times as many athletic players as his team did, and he automatically wanted to dispel any talent that his teammates who actually were jocks, had. Even though Laylah had made countless good plays throughout the day, he wanted to blame her for every play that she had missed, even if she hadn't been positioned anywhere near the ball at that point. In his head, had Bas gotten to the ball sooner on this play, or thrown it a little faster, they would have won by a long shot. Lennox was being as useless as ever, and God forbid he even comment on the other players, like Katherine, who he could blame for costing them an entire's game worth of effort. It was amusing, really, how worked up he could get over losing a stupid little game, that literally counted for nothing, but it just went back to how badly he hated losing. Rather than being a good sport and congratulating Tim and that team on their win, or even just being a semi-normal person and actually annoyed, but not actually angry, it was very clear with Eli that he was pissed. He headed off of the field without even bothering to wait for any of his friends, but as he passed Tim and the home plate area, he said, "Save the comments for a day when you fairly beat me. If my team wasn't absolute shit, you wouldn't have even made it to first base to begin with. I'll sit out the next game and take an absence for the class before I get stuck on a team with your girlfriend again. I'd take the mute over her, and that's saying something," he said callously, as if thinking Tristan was superior to Kat was a real insult. He continued walking after he spoke, knowing that he was red in th face for more reasons than just being physically overheated.
