Description

Physical Description: Maya has grey eyes, brown hair that goes just past her shoulders that has red highlights and red tips. Maya is usually seen wearing red lipstick that matches her hair, and is fond of some eyeliner.
Personality
Personality Traits:
1. Heartless - She's a direct descendent of Hades, what do you expect?
2. Technophobe - She never adapted well to technology, she made do without it for many millennia.
3. No Sense of Humour - Jokes do not fare well with Maya
4. Swift - Maya has spent years developing her vampiric powers
5. Clever - She was bound to learn a lot over the years, right?
Likes: Death, O- blood, being in charge
Dislikes: Annoying children, happiness, being answered back, going into the underworld.
Equipment & Abilities: Maya uses her vampiric powers to get her out of most bouts of trouble. Maya contains the power of the Breath of Death, meaning that eventually she will be able to kill anyone with a single breath. At the current time, Maya struggles to use the power correctly, taking immense amount of power to perform, and also not being able to kill other vampires, only stun them. Due to this low control Maya has over her power, she only uses it when absolutely necessary. As Maya learns to control her power, she will be able to use it once every two days like her ancestors.
Historical Background: She was born in Greece, but in more recent centuries she moved with most of her family to America. Maya is the great-granddaughter of the god Hades. Maya was born just before the destruction of the Olympians in 1595 B.C, and spent her early centuries roaming Europe with her family, eventually settling in Italy before the death of her long time partner Regulus Antonio da Vigo. Maya was heartbroken, and shut herself away from the world for a long time. The Olympian descendants met in the year 1812 and a faction was set up for each major god that once prospered in Olympus. Maya became the leader of the League of Hades, lead the followers of Hades and created a massive army now strewn across every major landmass in the world. Maya eventually became a new woman, a ruthless killer that showed no mercy to anyone, and had no emotion but anger. Maya built her manor behind the graveyard, directly above the chambers of the League of Hades headquarters. Maya still lives in the manor today, with her younger brother Jerome.

I step out of the door to my grand mansion as the sun slowly rises above the penthouses and skyscrapers that make up the Bridgeport skyline. My residence overlooks the city, and I'm afraid to say the amazing view of the city I've been blessed with has been criminally unappreciated by myself. I stand for a moment, and take in the stillness of the morning before rolling my eyes and tutting. "Who am I kidding, ey?" I mutter to myself. "The place is still a shithole no matter how beautiful it may seem." I turn around and enter my home again. I've got work to do today. It's not easy being the Queen of Death, and having to keep an eye on your idiot brother 24/7 doesn't help either. You would think 1986 years of living would give you some sense, but somehow Jerome manages to be an incompetent liability with every breath he takes.

Her walk to Bridgeport had taken her nearly three days, but now she could see the outline of the city in the rising sun. It seemed like an eternity, but Sela had died only a week ago. Nothing to stay for and nowhere else to go, Bridgeport had called her name. What she would do when she arrived, who knew?

Tablisha was now walking through an area outside of the city. It was a residential area where the houses looked like castles to her. She had lived in small two or three room dwellings all her life, and these, well these houses were things of dreams to the young witch.

Deciding to take a break, she sits herself down across the street from one such grand mansion. Taking an apple out of her backpack, she looks the place over. It looked like a palace for royalty. The manicured yard was gated in by a low stone wall. Hedges went around the house more or less hiding the lower levels of the building. Tablisha wondered who might live there; in this elegant and impressive home. Perhaps a closer look was in order.

I could sense an individual lurking near the gardens. I quietly open the door and step outside. I walk to the back of the manor to make sure there are no intruders on the premises. I exit through the front gate when I spot a girl. "You must be new here, only authorised personnel ever venture further than the graveyard." I tell her. I don't mind her coming so close to the manor, but I do want to let her know that I am a very dangerous girl.

Tablisha jumps a bit as she had not seen or heard the woman come up behind her. She looks around, a bit stunned, and as if saying "Are you talking to me?" Then taking a step towards the woman she explains, "Oh, please excuse me. I was walking by and...is this your home? It is beautiful! I wanted to take a closer look at the gardens, they are just exploding with color."

Tablisha waits a moment for the response she will likely get, fully aware that she will likely be firmly reprimanded by the lady standing before her. As she looks at the woman, she seems to sense that she has an aura of power about her. The hairs on the back of her neck start to stand up a bit and she is suddenly aware of how uncomfortable she is now that she has been caught trespassing in this yard.

"I wouldn't recommend blindly entering a strangers garden in this city. You're lucky I'm very preoccupied today. If you had arrived here yesterday I wouldn't have been so forgiving." I tell her emotionlessly. Senseless newcomers don't last long in Bridgeport. However, while I may be known for my ruthlessness, but I'm not about to hurt a woman for admiring some plants. Other people aren't as forgiving I'm afraid.

"About the gardens, thanks, I try my best." I'm still not smiling, but I tell her this in a much warmer tone. She's probably scared, poor girl. I just needed to let her know that the day someone crosses me is usually the last in their life. There's always the exception however... Maya, no, block it out. Now isn't the time.

Tablisha looks from the flowers to the woman. She strikes Tablisha to be even more stunningly beautiful than the flowers, if only she would smile. Tablisha gives a small nod of her head and starts to walk away, when she turns back to the woman. "Perhaps you could help me. I just came to town. I have nowhere to stay and was wondering where I might find a room."

A this point, Tablisha just wishes she could shrink up and hide away. She has already stepped too far out of her shell by walking here to see the gardens. Whatever possessed her to do so...she is not sure. She was just drawn to the colors of the flowers. And while this woman was about as warm and welcoming as an iceberg, she felt a strange attraction to her too. But still, it was not in her character to be so bold to go into a strangers yard and then carry on a conversation with them. What was the attraction?

I frown. Just tell her you're busy, I think to myself, but decide against it. I can tell she isn't mortal. It's a shame really, now I have to hunt in the woods for dinner tonight. Vampiric speed helps with this, of course, but it still takes time out of my day that I don't have. "It's Bridgeport, the city of stars and shining lights. There's budget motels and 5 star hotels available to you all around the city depending on how much you want to spend on accommodation. There's high rise apartment blocks everywhere too." I tell her.

I glide my tongue under the tip of my left fang, a habit I picked up during boring Olympic council meetings or appointments with elder members of the vampire hierarchy. I like to think I'm very influential over the vampire community of Bridgeport. I have made good impressions on the right people, and I am known for getting my way. "I've just remembered, there's a motel not too far from here, if you don't have much money to set yourself up yet and don't mind living in a bit of a shithole for a while." I add in an attempt to be more helpful.

A twinge runs through me as I realize that I have intruded on a ground that I had better left alone. As I watch the woman, I can tell my presence here must irritate her, but I have nothing: no home, no family, no money. I am utterly alone and certainly cannot afford even a "shithole" let alone a place of luxury.

I give a simple bow of my head and in a meek voice address the woman, "I am sorry to have trespassed and intruded on you. I, I guess I shall see if perhaps I can find a place of cover to sleep under tonight. I have no money. I am orphaned and alone. With that I place my backpack on my back again and slowly turn to leave, not sure where to go, not sure what my next move will be.

I sigh, and turn around. It's extremely unfortunate but I cannot be seen as hospitable under any circumstances. My entire reputation hangs on how ice cold I can be. I sometimes wonder if I worry too much about said reputation, because deep down I feel a small sense of regret about not being able to help. On the other hands, you can't really believe a sob story in this town. Everyone is greedy, ungrateful and caught up in their own head to realise what actually matters in life, no matter how hard they try to convince themselves that they are a good person. Bridgeport affects everybody in some way.
