A small district in Los Angeles, California known as Filipinotown has had its share of tragedy over the years, it being the center-point for an alarming amount of deaths, largely among the Filipino community. The targets of these attacks can be categorized in two distinct factions of the districts inhabitants, the young and the pregnant, respectively.

The latest of which occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jengko of Echo Park, a hilly neighborhood Northwest of downtown Los Angeles. The area had been famous with Hollywood types, including actors, writers and musicians. Among its more famous past home owners included the likes of Steve McQueen, the abstract impressionist artist Jackson Pollock, and the cult musician Frank Zappa.

As with much of the Los Angeles area Echo Park has fallen on particularly hard times. The city was one of the major metropolitan areas severely damaged by the events of the great deliverance.......

Jason Blackburn speeded down the dark and lonely highway in his refurbished 1966 Lincoln Continental on his way to the next assignment, it is Thursday, August 30th and there is a light rain coming down from the overclouded dark sky. Jason had just recently been in neighboring Oregon hunting a wayward stray from a small group of Dhampir. After hearing the details of a recent string of unusual murders of pregnant woman in California he decided to make a beeline for the glamor state, if it could be refereed to as such in its largely destitute condition.

The drive was fairly long and particularly grueling in terms of the degree of boredom which overcomes ones concentration and vision. There was only one thing that could cause the long miles ahead to fade into the mist of the forward thinking mind of Jason Blackburn-Some good old fashion Rock and Roll music.

Reaching for the protruding knob on his car radio Jason switches to the local station WPRZ-The song Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Rolling down the River indeed!

It was the next morning, Friday August 31.

It was around 9am when Jason rolled his way into town, gazing with awe at the early morning skyline above the "city of Angels," if only they knew just how accurate this title had become in the past few decades. It was here in this bustling city of money, power, and greed that the final battle had been waged, the spiritual war which had eliminated every supernatural threat from the world.

Jason often wondered if this was truly a miracle, as so many of his God fearing hunter-brothers had proclaimed, perhaps it was some kind of a strategic ploy whipped up by a far greater and more powerful threat, one which had yet to reveal itself.

The radio was turned low as Jason's 'Linc' sputtered into town on its last strand of gas fumes, by sheer luck or perhaps by providence Jason found a gas station waiting for him as he turned the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

Jason's car had traveled its last few feet before clunking out completely, by pure chance the Lincoln had rolled close enough to pump #1 to allow Jason to fuel up his gluttonous, gas guzzler of a vehicle. After exiting the long black machine Jason began the drudgery of digging through his pockets for the bread needed to fuel up his car, all he found was a few balls of lint.

"Shit, no paper-bucks! Time to break out the plastic I guess." Jason exclaimed before reaching into his shirt pocket for a pile bogus credit cards.

-Penelope Greenfield?

"Darn, left my wig at home." He thought to himself before tossing the utterly useless card to the ground.

"Ah ha!" Came a sign of relief, he had found a suitable card, swiping the card through the credit card slot on the gas pump, it began to spurt forth sustenance.

"This town is out of it." Jason whispered to himself has he gazed at the squealer which had infiltrated this part of town. Only a scant few citizens roamed the dirty slabs of pavement that zig-zag across the nearly barren streets of the once illustrious Hollywood.

The pump finished spilling forth the last drop of fuel for Jason's 1966 Lincoln, this had gone unnoticed by Jason who was too focused on reading the notes which he had laid out upon the roof of the vehicle. Contained within the scribblings of personally penned notes from Jason Blackburn was all pertinent information on the rash of murders that had been transpiring throughout the Los Angeles area.

One of the more important clues for solving the mystery of which supernatural being or monster was responsible for the mayhem was its choice of victims, this particular creature having chosen Filipino woman, all of whom had either been pregnant or were young girls going through the stages of growing into adulthood.

Another peculiarly interesting facet of this case was the locales where the brutal attacks had occurred, being predominately wealthy areas of the city, many of which were located next to bodies of water, whether it be a stream or a pond.

"What are the odds that this latest murder had taken place near a body of water." Jason thought to himself as he gathered up the outlaid notes and stuffed them back into the thick folder which sat on the driver seat, reaching into the car though the window he slotted the folder back between the seats.

Then after replacing the spent gas pump Jason climbed into the Lincoln and slowly drove out of the station and onto main street, the house in question was about 20 minutes drive from the Shell station. With Jason at the wheel the drive time to the house would be cut in half as his car peeled its way down the street.

Back at the Jengko residence Jo was trying to gain access to the home by passing herself off as a News reporter from the L.A. Times, meeting with some resistance from the middle age Filipino woman who had answered her persistent knocking.

"I'm sorry, but this is a bad time. I warn you not to bother us again, the authorities will be called the next time you do!" Just as she slammed the door in Jo's face Jason's car came slowly around the corner at the end of the block.

"What the hell, there isn't a single body of water anywhere near this area." Jason's eyes shifted from one view to another as he suddenly caught glimpse of the name of the street upon which the house stood-Spring Ave.

This was only the first observation that Jason would make as he sat on the corner in his Lincoln, examining the area closely he realized that the Jengko resistance was the only inhabited home on the block. The area was also strange in that it was the nicest house on that entire street, all the others were run down and boarded up, the Jengko home was literally the jewel of the block.

All of this suggested something.......but what?

Pearl arrived at the nearest crime scene, which was the first one sadly. "Couldn't leave anything for the people that would have been able to solve this?" She remarked, looking at some left behind police tape. She touched the ground, smelt the air, listened to the sounds around her, tasted the water, felt the cold that death left behind and looked at the scene before her. "Seeing is a fifth of knowing." She reminded herself and went to looking around. "Pregnant woman and water." She thought aloud, knowing no one was around. "What sort of demon are you? Is it even a demon?" She looked all around the crime scene before taking a notepad from her bag and putting small points down. She looked over her shoulder and noticed a small golden ring. She picked it up and put it in her back and left, heading for the library.

She drove through Spring Ave. and noticed 2 people trying to get into the finest home. She felt something a bit weird about the woman but the man was definitely human. She stopped her car and stepped out. "Everything alright?" She shouted over to them and looked at the man, he looked familiar but Pearl didn't think too much of it.

The door slammed in Jo's face and she had to take a deep breath to suppress a snarl. Why do people always choose the hard way?

"Fine then, I'll just have to break in when your passed out." Jo was able to access their medical history briefly before passing out. She didn't do to much digging around as she scanned over the more obvious facts. Actually, the entire family was in perfect health and the only current medication for both was diazepam, also known as valium. No doubt they take it at night to help them sleep, and from her history in the medical field of veterinary medicine, she knows it'll knock someone on their ass.

She wished the whole detective thing worked for her, but it didn't. Apparently there was nothing about her persona that read balanced authority figure. To be a successful detective, one needs to have the perfect balance of hardness and softness. Jo was either or, never in between. With a roll of her eyes she turned on her heels and almost stopped in her tracks. The same car she had admired back at the gas station was slowly rolling by. Obsidian eyes narrowed slightly, now that she could get better look and smell of the owner, she recognized the tell tale signs of a hunter; the sulfuric smell of rock salt, burnt gunpowder and always the faint stench of death. She was suddenly aware of the chill of the blade against her skin tucked beneath her shirt. He was either on the same case as she, or she was the one he was hunting.

Suddenly a woman's voice snapped her from her momentary lull. 'Fuckin' awesome. It's a bogo on hunter's today.' Alright, she had to play this off, she calmly walked closer towards them, as close as she dared to.

"No problem, I got this guys. And quite frankly, I don't play nice with others." She chose her words carefully on the very slim chance she was wrong in their profession, though she was rarely wrong.

Jason sat in his car as he struggled to uphold a nonchalant demeanor, at this point Jason was essentially a spy staked out on the corner of Spring St and so he deemed this approach as the most suitable to the task at hand, people rarely pay attention to the obvious. The large majority of which having little to no experience with cloak and dagger observation and infiltration-These surveillance tactics failed to obscure Jason's hunter persona, he was clearly dealing with hunters like himself.

Jason could sense them just as they sensed him, its a knack possessed by but a few.

It wasn't until he had approached them for a closer look that he came to realize that he had perhaps seen these hunters somewhere before. Another proclivity of many hunters is their ability to know a monster immediately upon being exposed to one, and the black haired chick standing near the Jengko residence was certainly suspicious-"One monster at a time!" Jason thought to himself.

Looking in his rear view mirror he could see a blond haired woman standing beside a black Hyundai Elantra, she being too far away for Jason to make any kind of assessment of personality or possible species.

There was no distortion of features or illuminated red eyes, which usually betrayed many types of demons when viewed through a mirror, as Jason was now doing.

He heard this blond call out and witnessed the dark haired girls reaction and movement toward the mysterious blond. Jason wasn't much into 'hunter parties' and so he quickly drove away from the scene, with the intension of returning to Spring St later on in the day.

Pearl looked over her shoulder and watched the car drive quickly past. Pearl turned back around to the dark haired girl. "No need to be rude. What is it about your kind being so rude and aggressive?" She made her eyes turn an even brighter and lighter blue, not just the iris but the entire eye. "You know it might be in your best interest not to piss me off and let me help you." She glared at her before pushing past her and knocked on the door. The Filipino woman answered again, she seemed a bit more agitated. "Hey, my car's broken down and I have no battery left on my phone and I really need to talk to my husband," She smiled and rubbed her stomach. "I haven't even told him but I'm pregnant." She whispered to her and smiled, waiting to be let in.

"Shit! Fuck it all Spring st!!"

Jason slammed his foot down on the break as the Lincoln came to a skidding stop in the middle of the street. Jason couldn't believe that he had allowed himself to be sidetracked limits of perception, he now realized that he had been mistakenly looking for a physical body of water.

"Damn it, what is the first rule of hunting.".....

Jason berated himself as he switched footing from breaking-left to acceleration-right.

...."Things are never what they seem!"

The screeching wheels of the four-door 1966 Lincoln peeled out upon the asphalt leaving behind smoke and a light coating of burnt rubber. With the windows rolled down the pungent smell began to choke the air around him as the car sped forth.

Jason was fortunate in that he hadn't driven too far from the Jengko residence, this allowed him to get there in a matter of a few minutes.

"I hope those girls had the good sense to leave that woman alone. Analan are so disgusting."

The two female hunters were far too busy battling the grotesque Analan spirit to notice Jason's quickly approaching vehicle, the breaking and smashing sounds going on inside the biulding drowned out the screeching of his wheels as the Lincoln came to a stop only inches from colliding with the structure.

"OK, what the hell do I do now." Jason thought.

The literature seemed to be particularly vague as to how one should deal with the Analan, though Jason did remember something about their young as a way to get to the spirit-creature itself. The only problem was where to locate this creatures child, was this the house where the beast was staying or did Jason and the other hunters interrupted something when they showed up upon its doorstep.

Now that Jason was up close he was able to hear the commotion which was no doubt much louder on the inside, its a wonder why no one had called the authorities, but then Jason remembered the vacant houses on this street-No one to call for help.

Making his way to the back door Jason let himself into the home, luckily the door was not only unlocked but slightly ajar.

As Jason crept through the darkened house he tried to remember what the had heard regarding ways to dispatch an Analan, all he could come up with was what he had learned from rumor. It made sense in a way, the Analan were obsessive when it came to their children, their whole existence revolved around acquiring offspring through their unnatural ways.

The sounds of struggle, which seemed to be coming from the living room, had suddenly stopped, he then heard one girl call the other. Earlier Jason had driven away and therefore never learned their names, as a result he wasn't able to distinguishes who was calling who.

Hearing one of them being refereed to as Blondie help a bit in distinguishing them, it was sufficient enough; he now had an idea of who was where.

The two hunters had apparently grouped together and Jason was about to join them when suddenly he heard the light sounds of crying-A baby?

"Defeat it? I don't even know what THIS is." Jo shrugged as she digested the fact that she was working with a witch. She'd have to address that later, as now they had more pressing matters. 'Mental side note, check self and belongings for hex bags.'

The sudden smell of burning rubber filled her nostrils and Jo was left slightly confused, not that being in the know seemed to be the theme on this job. This thing has got to have a weakness, the only issue is finding it. Bodily harm doesn't seem to be doing the trick and blow to the head is no good without a gun. "You go that way, I'll go this way. I'll keep her busy, you figure it out."

With those words a wounded hand knocked Jo into the wall beside her, the monster's blood smelling of raw sewage. Jo painfully pushed a rib back into place before opening her mouth. "Hey you fugly Bitch! Have you had enough?"

As Jason was creeping his way through the back of the house he tried to focus on the faint sounds of the crying baby, a task made particularly difficult due to the raucous sounds of struggle coming from the living room. As Jason passed the entrance which led into the tastefully decorated living room he saw a black haired woman literally flying passed the doorway, apparently knocked on her butt from a powerful blow by the vicious spirit-creature.

Jason hesitated a bit and contemplated entering the other room to assist them, but then he stopped himself.

"Shit! Well their hunters, I'm sure they can handle themselves."

There was certainly some concern to be felt for the two female hunters, though Jason also realized that if he didn't locate the creature's baby, none of them would survive and so he pushed on passed the doorway and up the stairs.

The creaking of the steps as Jason made his way to the second floor were fortunately drowned out by the sounds of destruction coming from downstairs.

Upon reaching the top Jason discovered the dead and decomposing body of the real Mrs Jengko.

"The creature seems to take on the form of the victim!" Jason thought to himself as he continued passed the corpse and down the hallway.

There were five bedrooms on the second floor for Jason to check out, but after sneaking into four of them Jason he failed to find the baby, it was then that he began to question his own ears.

"I know I heard those cries coming from this level of the house." Stepping slowly and cautiously toward the fifth and final door on the second floor Jason once again heard the crying sounds, but this time they were definite and defined.

Jason stretched out his fingers and reached for the doorknob, only to have the tips of his fingers greeted by the slimy residue left behind by the mother-creature. Opening the door and stepping inside Jason was surprised to find a completely empty room devoid of all furnishings.

In the corner of the room there stood a very bizarre object, a white wicker laundry hamper shaped like an Elephant.

"Now that is weird." he chuckled.

Jason thought he had been fooled again, clearly there was no baby monster in the room, and somehow he never considered the basket and was about to exit the room when he suddenly heard cries coming from the hamper.

The mere thought creeped him out, someone actually stuffing their infant into a wicket basket and leaving it there-It was heartless and cold.......Monster baby or not.

Pearl skipped to the other side of the room, avoiding the woman. "How am I supposed to do that?!" She shouted at Jo and then looked at the bookcase beside her. "Never mind." She whispered and grabbed a book on legends. She flicked through the pages looking for something. "Ugh nothing!" She moaned and threw the book at the Analan. She grabbed another and flicked through the pages, The Analan. "Found something!" She smiled to herself and it described the Woman perfectly, except for the part about the baby. "Keep her deformed as busy!" She told Jo as she run from the room, checking the downstairs for a baby, before running upstairs. A guy was standing in the room. "Ignus manu." She called and put her flaming hand out. "I will hurt you, just give me the baby, you male Analan?" She asked uncertain.

Things were getting a bit hectic in the only occupied house on Spring Street. The black haired female hunter was downstairs injured and sitting against the living room wall near the entertainment center.

The Analan spirit-creature glided just above the floor, carried aloft by its immense black wings as it slowly approached Jo Lovely.

Jason was still standing in the doorway of the fifth bedroom where he had located the Analan's offspring. Pearl was closing in on his position, she had mistaken him for an Analan spirit-being, like the one standing in the living room, who was about to wrap its hands around Jo's neck.

"Give me the baby, you male Analan?" Jason heard the blond female hunter call out from behind.

She could see Jason standing in the doorway and shadowed by the blue glow issuing from the moon outside, as its soft hued beams slightly illuminated the hallway.

"There is no such thing as a male Analan." Jason said softly as he slowly pivoted around to face Pearl, in his hands was the malformed and winged offspring of the Analan below.

"You know what must be done, right?"

Jason looked down at the small creature cradled in his arms and then back up at Pearl.

"You may not want to watch this."

"Well maybe there is, we just haven't heard of it, or seen it." Pearl thought aloud and then she dropped her hand. "I have seen worse." She told him and looked down the stairs. "It isn't even human." She shouted down the stairs. "Mummy Analan just left the baby up here all alone, anyone could walk up and oh I don't know kill it!" She turned to Jason. "Now!" She told him, turning back to watch the Analan and Jo, she was not in the best place right now. "Wait, what if this doesn't even work?" "Yep, piece of cake." Jo weakly threw her the okay sign, not that she could see it. Jo however, could see the shadow looming closer. She rose to her feet only to have creepy fingers wrap around her throat and slam her against the wall behind her. Another finger wriggles and worms its way into the already shrinking hole in her abdomen and all Jo could do was clench her teeth to stop herself from wimpering.

'Any day now.'

Her wishes were answered with perfect timing as she heard Blondie's taunts from upstairs. The analan heard it to, whatever the fuck that is, as she could feel a certain tensness in its grip before it released her. Jo crumbled to he floor in a sheer coughing fit, the walls of her esophogous now free to breath in deep breaths.
The creature hurried its way to the second floor, conveniently taking the express route and bypassing the stairs entirely. Jo sat there a moment, just needing to take a little breather. She had no doubt that she would hear the blonde if she needed her help, though she was sure she could take care of herself...almost.

Jason had convinced himself that the death of the infant could somehow be the instrument of the Analan's death, he obviously had no real way of knowing this as a certainty, but it was the only option open to them.

If there was anything good about the world 20 years ago it was the fact that a hunter was blessed with a sense of certainty when it came to dealing with monsters and spirits, there were centuries old remedies for such things, but this was a whole different ballgame. These days there was no certainty in such matters, many of the creatures that hunters were forced to battle were completely new.

As Jason held the defenseless creature in his arms he began to have second thoughts. Jason was just about to turn around and place the infant-creature back into its makeshift crib, but then he saw the momma-beast approaching the blond haired girl from behind.

The obscene cracking and popping sounds of its knuckles echoed through the hall as its clawed fingers bent from their back-turned position to one of attack. Jason didn't quite know what to do, the mother creature had taken him by surprise, allowing very little time to formulate an idea of how to dispose of the infant-creature.

The best plan he could come up with in that moment was to throw the infant down onto the floor and hopefully break its neck, but before he could manage it the baby's black wings spread out and it immediately took flight.

!!Note to hunters...baby Analan can fly only a few hours after being born.!!

The mother Analan was only inches away from the unsuspecting blond, as the claws upon its sinewy, slender fingers dripped with anticipation.

Jason was distracted by the flying baby Analan which hovered over his head. Then, from the corner of his eye Jason saw the adult Analan standing directly behind the blond and without thinking or really aiming Jason pulled his Walther P99 from under his shirt and fired-Direct hit between the eyes. The Analan fell to the floor with a loud thump, not dead, but merely stunned.

Unfortunately this would only help delay its attack upon the two hunters, the only sure fired way to kill the Analan was to destroy the baby, or at least they hoped it was.

A bullet wouldn't kill an adult Analan, but what about a baby Analan? It certainly wouldn't hurt to try and find out. With this in mind Jason repositioned his weapon to fire at the baby monster fluttering above.

Another monster suddenly appeared behind Jason-It was a familiar type....A Cambion.

"Do you know how hard it is to come by one of them." The Cambion said to the terrified and stunned hunter.

Pearl watched as Jason went to kill the baby, only for it to fly. "What the fuck?" She exclaimed, not noticing that the mother was behind her. "Shoot it!" She called but then he turned his gun on her. "No!" She cried ducking down just as the bullet flew past her head, she looked at the body lying just behind her. "You could have killed me!" She screeched at him before going over to the stunned body, she lifted her foot and kicked her in the face. "That's for pulling my hair." She turned back to see some man approach Jason. She hid behind the wall, hoping he hadn't seen. Where did he come from? Who is he? She thought to herself before looking at her hand then down the stairs. Save him or help her? She asked herself, then decided on helping Jo. She snuck over the body and tried to creep down the stairs. She seen Jo sitting down. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She whispered to her, she kept checking that the man hadn't followed her or anything.

Standing before Jason Blackburn and Pearl Woods was a bonified Cambion from medieval legend, a half-human, half demon, the offspring of an incubus and a human woman, such creatures were even more rare then the Analan. The child of the incubus is in danger from hunters until it reaches its seventh year of existence, at which point it becomes increasingly difficult to differentiate one from a human being.

Although this Cambion was devilishly cunning, as it is generally understood, though its appearance was anything but Angelic. The reason for this departure from its common nature remains a secret however, for this particular Cambion was not what it appeared to be.

The creature stood before the two hunters in its beige dress-shirt and jacket vest, bald headed with the bloody remnants of its last meal still smudged upon its face. The Cambion had black eyes, but unlike the garden variety demon, they possessed black billiard ball pupils with the rest of the eye remaining white. This unique physiological attribute gave the appearance of shining rings of pure white when seen under dark conditions.

It was only when the Analan acted aggressively toward this new creature that Jason realized the two were apparently deadly enemies. The mother Analan charged the demon and attacked it, or at least it tried to, the Cambion simply raised its hand and touched the Analan's forehead, causing the spirit-creature to be instantly reduced to ash.

The Cambion then raised its opposite hand and made the infant Analan vanish as well.

"What the hell? Cambion don't possess......."

Before Jason could get the thought out the Cambion itself had vanished.

It seems as though the hunters have a bit of a mystery on their hands. Why would a creature from medieval legend abduct a Philippine spirit of putridity.

Jo can tell from the comotion upstairs Blondie wasn't alone, which would shed some light on the mystery smell of burnt rubber fom earlier. Which means this job could translate into a hunter grand central station, or its the hunter from before. Reasoning tells her its the hunter from before, which also means Jo isn't quite out of the woods yet.

A gun shot, a screech and then an eerie silence. Blondie seemed to be making an effort at keeping quite, and her whispering questions only confirmed it. Jo rose to her feet and dusted herself off. Her rib was already mending, but the whole in her stomach was still bleeding, having been reopened just moments before. "I'm fine, I just need to sleep it off." Jo found herself whispering as well. Did she wonder why things needed to go into stealth mode, of course she did. Did she care at the moment? Now that was up for debate. Right now Jo was trying to decide if she should ditch the littler hunter party, something told her that Mr. Tardy upstairs wouldn't take too kindly to either of them. The last thing Jo needs is to become the hunted.

A curious smell filled Jo's nostrils, or rather, the lack there of. The stench of putrified death had almost cleared the air, and a stale smell of old ashes faintly began to take its place. Sensitive ears, now perked to listen, heard the surprised words. Cambion, the word sounded familiar, but she couldn't place it just yet.

"I think we're all luckier than we realize."

Jason was more confused then ever, he simply could not get his head around the situation, a Cambion demon abducting a Philippine spirit of disease? The who thing seemed too illogical to him, he had never heard anything like it before, not from his own experience, nor from any other hunter. Jason and the others hunters of the world certainly had their jobs cut out for them.

As Jason slowly walked down the hall toward the staircase he was trying to think of a way to get some answers. "Something weird is going on, someone must have some facts that we can work with......But who?"

Jason was just about to make a turn for the staircase when he suddenly heard a distinct thumb behind him. Turning quickly and with much anxiety Jason discovered the body of the baby Analan, though it was only there for a few seconds as it too was reduced to an ashy pile of black, stinking soot. Jason looked around and wondered at the reason for its sudden appearance, perhaps the Cambion had rejected the specimen for some reason.

Turning to face the staircase Jason's decent was once again disrupted by strange phenomenon. This time the vision too the form of a mental projection, as if thoughts and images were being implanted into his conscious mind while standing there upon the first downward step.

Clearly this was coming from some infinitely powerful force and its message was clearly trying to help the hunter.

This was particularly strange, seeing as no hunter of the past 20 years has ever been contacted by a benevolent force, ever since the great supernatural war there has been no signs of Angels or the like. Every hunter had come to accept the fact that they were all alone in the battle to rid the world of this new breed of supernatural beings that have infested the mortal world.

This introduction of a helpful, or possible helpful spirit into Jason's mind actually had the opposite desired effect. It was far more frightening to think about then it was a comfort. Jason was so frightened by the prospect that he ran from the Jengko residence without saying a word to the other hunters in the living room.

Exiting the house the way he had entered, Jason got back in his Lincoln Continental and then with a nervous hand put the key into the ignition and was soon on his way.

The wheels of the vehicle screamed in reverse as he pulled out the backyard and then quickly down the road.

Pearl heard the Hunter coming down the stairs, she looked over to him and smiled, but he turned around and looked up at the room, he looked anxious. Pearl took a step towards the other hunter. Her eyes had turned an icy blue as she tried to get into his mind, "Is everything okay?" She asked out loud but then she felt something unnatural, maybe even supernatural and it pierced her head, she let out a scream of pain as she felt a dagger sliding into her head, whatever was in his head didn't want her there either. She gasped and froze before collapsing.

Pearl sat up and sucked in a heavy breathe, she started to pant and look around her, she noticed Jo at the side of the bed. "What happened? Where are we?" Pearl asked, her breath returning to it's regular pace. "What happened to the other hunter?" She looked about the room, it looked like a motel. "Are we in a motel?" She rubbed her forehead and got off the bed. She walked over to the window and looked outside. "Where are we?" She repeated, the voice more serious and confused. She pulled her phone from her pocket and went straight to the contacts, not noticing the date, and looked at her mother's number. "I'll call her once I've got some information." She whispered to herself.

Through the hunter grapevine Jason had learned the names of the two female hunters who had infiltrated the Jengko residence back in California. After the Cali incident Jason decided to follow the two hunters, he had resisted the temptation as long as he could. This refusal was largely an attempt to defy what the disembodied voice upon the staircase had told him.

It was the voice of the mysterious Cambion which had suggested it.

Apparently there was something in the place where Jo and Pearl were driving to (wherever that place was), that the Cambion thought Jason needed to see. For the first few hours Jason had no idea where they were headed or for what purpose. It wasn't until he was about 50 miles from Drexel Arizona, that he finally discovered the reason for the long car trip.

Reaching Tucson and picking up that cities main radio station, Jason learned of the kidnapping of the Perez boy.

The plan that Jason had formulated in his mind was to hang back and to take no action, at least for a while. Jason knew that this bit of nasty business could only be the work of a Cuco spirit, a being which Jason familiar with. Jason had a friend by the name of Jammie Curtis, back when he was really young, who had also been taken by such a creature.

Jason was certain the girls could handle this case alone, and thought that it might be better for him to stay back a ways and observe, with the intention of hopefully discovering the reason for the Cambion's helpful info.
