British Elite Special Forces: The S.A.S

Introduction

You are part of the Best of the Best. The S.A.S. After a grueling selection program testing all the physical and mental strength you have in your body, you made it in, and continue to serve in the Elite forces. Your on a team; you know your team mates better than yourself, and you would die to protect them. For honor and for victory at all costs.

Mission Objective

Command: V52 has sent us information on the possibility that AQ has nuclear weapons in their possession. He saw suspicious activity going on, on the Takur Ghar Mountain. We already have Intelligence teams sent out to scout the area and report back with their findings. When we have received confirmation the counter terrorism team will meet with the intelligence team and they will advise them on weapon locations through radio while they continue with the mission. The mission name: Operation Dare Devil There is no room for failure. Success is the only option. Good luck.

Cooper: Are you clear what the objective is Voodoo?
Voodoo: "Affirmative."

Cooper: "It's what I like to hear."

Voodoo: "What will the terrain be like?"

Cooper: Not a walk in the park. Steep turns, heat of the day, cold of the night, snow, dust, steep drops, it's enough to keep you busy. All right, it's unlucky this is summer right now, but in the space of 12 hours things can go from one extreme to the other. Image

Voodoo: "Enemy Count?"

Cooper: "Unconfirmed, but theres more of them than there will be of you."

Voodoo: "You never make things easy for us do you Cooper?"

Cooper: " Ha! Negative Voodoo, you'll manage."

Cooper: "Voodoo?"

Voodoo: "Yes?"

Cooper: "Be careful"

Voodoo: "Roger. Out."

Further Mission Intel

This will be a lengthy battle. It may takes days or a couple of weeks to fully clear the Mountain villages occupied by the Taliban and gain possession of the weapons. You will carry all food, and water with you that you will need but you may be forced to initiate your survival skills learned in training if you run out. There are numerous villages that you will have to clear and take no prisoners, if it moves, kill it. Air Support is only available at certain times throughout the mission. Use wisely. Operate at night and lay low during the day. The team will be supplied with Night Vision scope which will be invaluable, although flares from guns may handicap their use. Use it to your advantage, the enemy does not have them.

Toggle Rules

Throughout the operation you must follow these rules or risk corrupting the mission

- Be Realistic: If you get shot in the stomach you won't be able to get up and run around again. Your team mates will watch your back
- Swearing is allowed. War is not an opportunity to show of your vocabulary skills.
- Post Regularly
- Be detailed
- No sloppy work will be expected, your not in the elite forces for nothing
- Your character will not be a gary stu. (Must be male to maintain realism of the S.A.S sorry for any inconvenience)

*************************************************************************************************

I figured I'd carry on the whole 'Military command' theme through the rules also :) So excuse me for that :P

Please have diverse characters, they're working as a team, but how many people at where you work do you like? Some may not like each other and argue a lot. Different personalities please!

You pick what your position is,

- Snipers are also cross trained for the assault team so you will be able to play both parts. They work in pairs, a Spotter and a Shooter. A spotter picks out the target, the shooter takes them out. In the roleplay you can rotate this role so you both have the chance to play both role.

- Assault team - you will be responsible for going in on the ground with the occasional help of cover from a sniper.

Positions:

Sniper #1: Connor 'Voodoo' Walker
Spotter #1: Taryz Delas
Sniper #2: Lucas O'Connell
Spotter #2: Reserved

Assault team: Spencer Collins
Assault team: Jason Bourne
Assault team: Kenneth John Shepard
Assault team: OPEN
Assault team: OPEN

(Although the number on the assault team is unlimited)

For all you fanatics out there on the army, apologies if I have got any of the information wrong, I did a lot of research but some of it I am not able to find out so if there is anything wrong, deal with it :)

Will you make it through? will you die? Willy you survive? But most off all - will they accomplish the mission? (Note if you choose to kill off your character you are required to place a 'Killed in Action' In your characters Status and you are more than welcome to make another character to continue with :)

"Voodoo...Voodoo...Voodoo!"

"Ah yeah sorry." I replied hastily shaking my head out of my own little world that I had submerged myself into while Cooper stood in front of us barking out positions on a map that he had draped over a table.

We were positioned five miles south of Takur Ghar, in a small run down building that we were using to receive the Intel. Cooper stood bent over the table holding a pencil pointing to a position on the map, he was giving us all information, but some how I'd managed to slip into my own little world, thinking about what could go wrong up on that mountain. A lot could go wrong, that's what my answer was, and the thought was distracting me from what I really needed to focus on now because it was certain death if I didn't listen to what he was saying now.

'Focus Connor' I scolded myself as Cooper looked at me with a doubtful expression before carrying on barking out important information to me and the rest of the squad. Why they chose me to do this mission was a complete mystery, how I'd even made it through into the S.A.S in the first place was baffling. Me not listening being a prime example why some one like me shouldn't have made it in.

"The guards are located here, here and here. We couldn't gain any of their sniper positions...That will be your job." Cooper said, his eyes meeting with mine, then someone else's behind me but I didn't turn to look. The hills had eyes, and these hills certainly had eyes. The place was crawling with them, their tunnels dug deep into the ground gave them the clear advantage over us and they could simply come up from underneath the ground like insects and surround us within seconds. Yet another clever scenario of mine that I had dreamed up while day dreaming to myself, 'man you gotta' stop thinking'. I thought to myself as the thought of meeting my fate on that mountain was getting to me now.

"Wake up goddamn it!"

"Oh God!" I woke up with a start.

I stood up quickly and leaned against a wall nonchalantly. Cooper put his head down again and continued speaking loudly. What was with all this racket he was making. The run down building they were in was going to fall if he didn't quiet up and slow his roll. "Hey Coop you mind using your inside voice we don't want the enemy to run up on us cause your speaking to loud". He said sarcastically. Cooper just looked up and nodde his head continued talking to the people around him a little quieter but not a lot. But it was a success. I smiled and took out a cigarette. Ahh a good smoke in the morning.

I decided to actually listen this time. He turned to see Connor the rat and smiled at him. He turned to hear what Cooper was saying."The guards are located here, here and here. We couldn't gain any of their sniper positions...That will be your job." He looked up to see him directing his comment toward Connor and someone he hadn't paid attention to. He looked back to Cooper."When you Snipers get found out we will send the Assault team to either dig you guys out or put you farther in". He looked at me with a slight grin and turned to someone else looking slightly less cheerful. I listened on. I figured out that we were positioned five miles south of Takur Ghar, in a small run down building that we were using to receive the Intel.

I put my head down in thought. That place was crawling with guards and soldiers ready to shoot and kill anything that moves. Damn why did I get myself in this position. I wanted to get in the military to make my father happy. I just hoped I survived this damn mountain so I can get out and do what makes me happy. I put my hands in my pocket blowing smoke out of one corner of my mouth and the other corner holding my cigarette. I decided to switch my blowing to my nostrils so I could close my mouth. I hated it when my mouth got dry. A dessert like this would definitely make it that way. I finally came to a conclusion that even though I thought I sucked at this army shit somehow I got into the S.A.S. Then again maybe they just picked a couple of joes for those missions just to bait the middle east to kill some of there people so they have a better excuse for war. Well if you think about it the fisher gets the fish, the fish gets the bait. What does the bait get dammit!

I had been paying attention, mostly the only real words catching my ears were about my own assignment, the rest mostly seemed like gibberish; tilting my head as another voice speaks out asking Cooper to quiet down. I chuckle quietly to myself my arms crossed over my chest as Cooper points out the guard positions. Though at the comment about digging us out or moving us farther in I smile alittle, the playful banter not lost on me, but it wasn't enough to get me to speak out of turn.

I shift alittle from where I was standing, leaning against a partial wall of the run-down building, alittle spaced out about the situation, We were running directly into the line of fire on this one, one false step; one shot misplaced and all hell would utterly break loose. digging through one of my pockets and pulling out a small bracelet woven from bits of string and beads woven along in them as well, a slight smile marks my face before i slide it back into my pocket; my face returning to the blank stare it had before; looking back to Cooper still carrying on about the assignment.

I yawned slightly a hand reaching up to cover my mouth as I do, feeling restless, and yet at the same time beat; this was going to be a long assignment, no doubt about that. The question was would we all make it out, or would we pinned down half of the time; I really never got over the realist phase of my life, always viewing situations with the most logical of outcomes, and with this it was no exception, turning my gaze to the other two men standing nearby, one seemed to be enjoying a smoke; the other lost in his own fantasy world, placing a hand on the day-dreamers shoulder. "You alright?" The first words spoken by me being a question that could be taken as either worry, or making sure the man was fit for this duty.

"So hows this mission going to end. You want me to go into there base" I'd walk out from shadows behind Voodoo.

I placed myself next to voodoo, looking over the map, and the way Cooper was pointing, and debaiting how the plan is going to work. I knew this is going to be along day if this keeps this up, so I just pointed at the most Secretive spot. which was the Mountens. "Ok If we move here along the mountens. I think we'll able to sneak up on them.. But I don't know for sure." I'd look at cooper, and voodoo hoping that would put up a back up plan. Or maybe something in there heads. I backed up looking at the map alittle more, and moving to where Cooper was. I'd place myself alittle more to the right looking atr the map

This was going to be along day, but I hope it isn't. They requested me to be here, so i can't complain about the missions start, or end. Looking to the left, I'll take my place against the wall again waitting, and listening to what the are say. I was bored really bored, I just wanted to shoot something. But this mission needs Orders, and I can't just leave, and go rambo on the enemy, that would be the stupid choice. So I just asked "How long till ETA Voodoo"

I didn't look up until i heard someone directly speaking to me, i realised now that i had been off day dreaming a bit about my last failed mission, i had the scar to prove that i was there. "Hmnn, yeah i'm fine, wish it didn't take this long though" i looked over at the one that was smoking. I didn't really see it as a disgusting habit like some others did, it could be considered quite calming. I studied the other man for a moment."All set?" he ment ofcourse if he was already mentally prepared to either die or survive and see others die. He knew pretty sure that there was atleast someone that was gonna die considering this was like a big rabbit hole. I was compeltly focussing on the man standing next to me now in order not to drift back into my own thoughts now.

Choosing to ignore the comment made about us snipers having to have our arse's saved, although the thought of that happening sometimes seemed likely to me, sometimes I got just a little bit too excited about finally getting a clear shot on a target and would blow cover with an over eager yelp of joy. Sometimes I got into my job just a little bit too much for my own good.

"Well, I think we'll have to figure out how to just make it up onto the mountain at the moment." I muttered, twisting my face into a concentrated look as I looked at the map that lay on the table, Cooper's mouth suddenly stopping as he had probably finished telling us everything we needed to know. Man, I hoped the others had been listening.

"ETA 20 Hundred hours." I began to say, flashing a glance at the battered wristwatch I was wearing. It was only Eleven in the morning at that point, but we still needed to consider any possible 'stops' we had to make on the way through the small run down town that was crawling with enemy activity. Of course, they had been watching us, they were watching everything that went on in this town. There was already a small base of British and American soldiers just a few miles south of here trying to keep the peace and anyone seen talking to them was immediately hunted down by the enemy. Anything suspicious going on; they homed in on and what we were doing was exactly the type of thing they watched.

"Thanks Cooper, you mind?" I asked nodding my head at the map draped over the table.

"No not at all." He replied hastily rolling it up and handing it towards me, where I placed it in the already heavy backpack that I had to carry. Weapons and ammunition played havoc with a man's back, and the extra weight of water was something that I also had to contend with.

Returning to the intelligence team on the opposite side of the room, their faces bore a mixture of different messages, some seemed quite reluctant to say anything about the mission, others looked doubtful. Of course inside my own stomach was a churning pit, making me wish that I hadn't eaten anything that morning, but it was a feeling that couldn't just be thrown away, it was part of the job. There was a good chance we'd all die up on that mountain, not even down to a few guys dressed in robes and sandals shooting at us, one of my main worries was the undying heat and bitter coldness of the night.

"Good luck boys, see ya soon." Cooper continued on casually with a smile as he and his squad moved out of the door. We were on our own now, quite a scary thought to comprehend going towards the equivalent of hell on earth with nothing but our own common sense and Kevlar to keep us alive.

I quietly stood in an isolated space in the room, my hands resting gently on the M16 strapped around me. Cooper explained some instructions and I made a mental note of each, making sure to try and remember every detail of the operation to come. Knowledge of each aspect had helped me to prepare for any situation that could arise on the battlefield but things never turned out that way. The most unexpected things happened when I'd been out on a mission, trying to remember each aspect helped me to mentally prepare for what I needed to do.

I shifted my weight to my left foot as the short briefing went on and gazed at each of the men around him briefly having preferred to keep my distance while I pulled on my game face. It wasn't my first time seeing that map, having scanned over it a couple of times earlier. I had a general visualization of where everything was and did my best to remember the crucial spots occupied by guards and their potential line of sight. My mind whirred silently as I tried to find potential blind spots that'd allow us to move undetected. A few routes immediately sprang forward as I committed what I'd seen to memory. The map was promptly rolled up and a crew of snipers moved out the room. I watched quietly as I scratched the side of my shaved mohawk. I looked around briefly to the remaining men,

"You boys ready?" I asked out of habit. Even if they weren't ready it would be forced upon them. I always did it seconds before I began an operation.

I turned grabing my weapon from the corner of the room were, I was standing. "So this is going to be the plan, Huh?" I walked over to the map, and looking it over. I know, I can shoot. I was in the special Ops for six years, and I survivied the Worst mission ever planned, When i say worst. My whole team died. But what ever this is a good plan. I'll watch there backs the best I Can."Ok I'm ready Voodoo, and one more thing. You've read my Top secret File right?" I'd move alittle looking at Voodoo, placing my guns strap around my shoulder. This place is going to be hell if things goes sour, I knew this much. I just throw the thought aside.

I'd place my hand up, twisting the wrist to look at the black watch under my wrist. So this was going to be along day, or month.

'Top secret file?' I thought to myself, placing a hand on my chin thoughtfully. Actually I hadn't, I must have forgotten, but of course I couldn't tell him that. I already seemed irresponsible enough as it is and I couldn't let them know that I hadn't got round to reading something.

"Ah Yes I have indeed!" I replied back brightly looking over my shoulder at him as I said it. I really needed to start acting like a real soldier and not a teenager. My often irresponsible and care free nature would some day be the death of me, as with no idea of what the file was about: I could be in trouble. If he had told me then I'd clearly forgotten through the haze of all these events happening. Hearing that you were about to go into a Taliban base and seize Nuclear weapons was not something to be taken lightly and if any one heard their fate was being served to them in one nice bundled mission then I'm sure they would forget things.

Glancing around at the six men, I knew them better than I knew myself, I'd have to trust them through this mission. I didn't trust myself either, at my job as a sniper; yes of course I could do that I was quite confident and somewhat cocky at times with my job however I couldn't trust myself to carry out close combat with the enemy. Creeping up a hallway of some underground passage with the enemy around the corner was something that I didn't enjoy, and nor did I endorse it as a past time of mine. Stealth was what I was best at, and keeping further away from the enemy was what I was exceptionally good at.

"Alright men, whose driving?" I asked as I looked out of the wooden door that rested ajar, glancing at the two dust coloured jeeps that sat parked at the side of the street.

I noded toward him, and smiled. "Thats good to know that you looked at my file, and my work. I'm also glad that you took the libarty to check out everyone elses out as well. Thats a sign of a good leader, and I Solute you for that." I"d say in a Respectful maner. But this mission going to be fun or going to be horrible all at the same time.

I'd look moving to Voodoo's side. "Do you have a back up plan if this thing goes sour, I'd think of one pretty quick, but i think you'll do a better job for me." I'll look at the map checking it over to see if there is anymore roots to take. But there wasn't. I'd slam my hand down on the table remember the stupid assholes plan, that got my team killed. "Damn you asshole, my brothers died for you, because of your fucked up plan." I'd say it over my breath looking at the map alittle.

Grunting slightly I strided over towards the door ready to get going, eager to get going almost. My enthusiam would wear thin over the next few days but for the next couple of hours my morale would be through the roof...

"Well, if things go south, we're gonna be buggered." I mused back adjusting the bergen I was wearing on my back pulling the straps further over my shoulder. My dirty hands touched the splintered wood on the door, a single bullet hole that was rounded perfectly half way down the door pane: it was like it had been crafted there as a warning to us not to venture any further: a sign which I found rather disheartening.

For a few moments I stood in silence looking at the bullet hole with a thoughtful expression on my face, we were ready to go, but there was something stopping me from walking out of the door with the rest of the team. Could I really bring myself to drive towards that mountain? Cooper and his team only had to scan the area vaguely, we had to do the real work, now I could definetly see why Cooper had made his move over to the Intelligence team.

C'mon Rat you're a SAS soldier. How did you manage to get in with this thinking? I scolded myself. It was true, I needed to stay focused or I wouldn't make it through this mission and never reach the objective. I could still remember the lecture I was given by my commanding officer just the day before clearly in my head, telling me that if we did not achieve this mission it would be disastrous for everyone. I could still hear his strong heavy voice beating in my ear drums right now and just the thought of the large unruly man lecturing me again was starting to unsettle my nerves...

I slowly forced myself to get up, I couldn't muster a lot of confidence in our team leader that was apparently called Voodoo. Although, he could also be called Cooper, he wasn't that good in names, it didn't often matter during the heat of the battle because he didn't give out the orders. Well i would still let my life depend on the what-was-his-name-again guy. I quickly shook the thoughts of again, I was wondering off again, how sloppy.

I still studied the guy that was carefully looking over the bullet hole again. I then carefully moved my attention to the guy that asked that man if he had read his report, again I had very little faith that that guy actually read any report, he seemed to be a very confident person. Well you had to be when you where in the army. My mind ran far ahead of me again as I considered carefully what that guy could be like, I quickly caught up to stop my own train of thoughts. By now I had learned to never judge people from first impression, although I still often did. Very bad habit of mine.
