An eccentric person in every sense of the word, tending to explore every possible outlet of everything he deems worth his time before tossing it out as impossible. Most people who meet him on first impression alone find him to be very well read, intellectual and versed in multiple languages. A reserved man who sees and knows much, some people find his quiet and collected demeanor to be rather intimidating. Though if one got to know Arthur, or if you were to ask someone who knows him intimately, you'd find that he has some oddities about him. He likes things just so and is nothing less than a perfectionist, his mannerisms in conversations tend to be rigid and odd, he will often lose himself in thought for hours at a time and pop back into reality with a strange declaration of some new development to something irrelevant at the time. Arthur isn't the best in reading a room, picking up on the tone or feelings of people is not really a skill he ever developed, other than recognizing a lie or nervousness in body movement. This has shaped him into being rather insensitive and blunt when he does choose to input his opinion, be ready for what he has to say. Very analytical, he sees and catalogs, taking in everything around him to better himself and his fellows at a later date. Logic and planning are two of his favorite ideals, while he does have his oddities, he will be the first to demand a thoroughly thought out plan versus a spur of the moment one.
Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland he was raised Irish Catholic and sadly his family fell apart due to his father's drinking which got Arthur sent to Jesuit preparatory school Hodder Place, Stonyhurst in Lancashire, England being supported financially by his uncles. It was during his time at this school that he first discovered his ability to create his "Mind Palace." It aided him well, that plus his photographic memory that made him excel so much in school academically. He was advanced through his whole educational career. In his studies, he had learned many practical things, uses for his gift. One such use was that of aiding Scotland Yard in premiere cases, cases they deemed unsolvable. Doyle met up with an old school-mate of his who worked for the Yard and asked a favor in helping him solve their most difficult case. Over the course of two months Doyle retraced the steps of the case and solved it. This caused a ripple effect, he was highly praised and rewarded among the law-enforcement in his area and because of how expertly and deftly he handled the case he caught the attention of some agents from IQ84. They observed him over the course of a year after his studies, during which he solved four more of their most difficult and complex, seemingly perfect crimes. This peaked the agents interest and they approached him about joining their Investigations Squad at headquarters. Doyle agreed and now wonders where this path will take him.

It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.
Arthur has the ability to go to his mind palace and recall people, places, and things that he has seen or heard in the past. He is also hyper-observant about people's body language and other social cues. In addition he has a photographic memory since his childhood, which greatly aids him in storing all the memories in his Mind Palace. Arthur is careful to fill his brain attic with memories that may be useful, such as important details from the past and other important observations, locations and so on. Arthur can use this ability of transporting his mind into this memory vault to search for answers in a split second. If he were to get shot he could quickly go into this frame of mind to find the best way to survive. He can do other such things like this as well. Searching for clues and other ideas or memories from a certain interaction or time.
