"And so then we got to the airport, and this really snooty woman directed us over to the bus lot. Of course, the bus turned out to be really crappy; it was one of those huge coaches that can take loads of people, but it was old and messy, there was gum on half the seats and it smelt of alcohol. The driver was nice enough though..."

Leah was already in the General Store when Lisa entered, standing with a bag of shopping across the counter from a harried looking shop owner. Seeing as there hadn't been any other customers in the shop, Leah had decided to stick around for a chat. "But yeah, there were a bunch of families on this bus, half of which gave us evils when we got on, because everyone hates teenagers these days for no good reason. There was one couple with really annoying loud children, who were screaming and fighting, and everything really annoying."

The girl rolled her eyes and folded her arms. "Then the whole coach broke down after only half a day's hellish journey, and we ended up here. We were supposed to be in New York yesterday! No offence but this little place doesn't hold a candle to the big city..."

Leah turned to face Lisa at her entrance, blinking for a moment, having not noticed her arrival -- this momentary surprise didn't last long, though. "I don't know about the bus operator, but I am going to get my travel insurance's ass on this bloody travel agents -- they sent us on the wrong plane, then got us on this awful bus, and got us stranded here!"

The girl let out a sigh of frustration, shaking her head. "No one happy indeed! Can't just let these people get away with awful service, or they won't even bother improving! You'd think that the bus company would have sent out a replacement bus by now! But nooo, we're stuck here until god only knows when."

Leah scowled, shaking her head. "Oh, my name's Leah by the way!" the girl smiled and extended her free hand, "It's nice to meet you! I'm from Britain, taking a gap year between college and uni!"

"Montreal, huh?" Leah replied, leaving a vague pause as if contemplating, like she had any idea where that was. "Nah, no clue where that is. My American geography is awful. Hell, I barely know where anything is back home!" the girl grinned, nodding to the woman's expansion on Universities.

"Oh, tell me about it. Used to be that you just needed good results to get a good place, but now everyone's applying with straight As, it seems, and people want volunteer work, extracurricular stuff, not to mention the straight A grades! It's bonkers, honestly. I'm going there for Art slash Design and Photography, Bournemouth Uni." she added, "Not that you'll have any idea where that is -- South of England, it's at."

When her two friends entered, Leah greeted them with an enthusiastic wave. "Hey, guys! What've you been up to? Exploring? So far all I've seen going on here is a whole lot of nothing. Nice enough people, though." the girl turned to Lisa, smiling "But-" Leah paused, noting Annie's recollection of the woman's name "-Lisa? Was on the same bus as us, yeah. We were just talking about how stupid it is that the service got us stranded here!"

"Sounds like the title of a movie." Leah grinned, "Bus From Hell! Okay, maybe not. It sounded better in my head." the girl laughed, before glancing over to Annie and Martin. "I got the food and stuff, if you guys want to head back to the motel to drop it off? I have a cooler in my suitcase somewhere... you know, just in case we wanted... to go on a picnic, or something. I don't overpack, don't be ridiculous!"

Leah smiled over at Lisa, "Well it's been nice talking to you, but I think we're heading back now. Toodleoo!" the girl lifted a hand to wave, and then headed for the door with her two friends.

"I miss all the interesting stuff!" Leah huffed, walking off with Martin and beginning to quiz him over the limited details that they had as they walked the short distance back to the motel...

Click click tap click tap.

In the general silence of the platter house, the sound of Leah's fingers on the screen of her iPad was clearly audible. Her iPod blasted music into her ears, tucked away in her front pocket. Seeming entirely cut off from the rest of the outside world, the British tourist was using the time to surf the web, keeping in touch with her friends back home.

(19:10) Leah~: yea its pretty dull. Annie and Martin went 2 check if anyone had seen the driver

Completely oblivious to Lisa's words, Leah continued to tap. Her iPod was doing a marvellous job of making her look like a little bit of a bitch. Starting to hum along to the tune of the song playing, Leah nodded along to the rhythm.

(19:14) !KAK!: so you seen anyone interesting?
(19:14) Leah~: nah its all been locals really. not met any of the college peeps yet except in passing

Leah Wingate looked up at Feliyn's shout -- it just about penetrated the wall of music around her ears. She blinked a few times before tapping out a hasty 'brb' on her chat and popping one of her headphones out of her ear.

"Huh? Pardon?" she asked, "Sorry. Had the volume up."

(19:18) !KAT!: lol whats going on?
(19:18) !KAT!: helloooo?

Leah gaved an exasperated sigh as Feliyn deigned not to reply, and returned her attention to her chat, though she left one earphone out.

(19:18) Leah~: sorry. someone called but apparently not to me. Some sort of weird question time lol, diner person sounds like some racist.
(19:19) !KAT!: how come? o.O
(19:19) Leah~: making a big deal out of how this woman was humming an israeli lullaby. *eyeroll*
(19:19) !KAT!: lol, americans. hear somthing related to the middle east and its all ONOES TERRORIST.

Leah Wingate lifted an eyebrow. With one earphone out, she could hear the woman this time. "Excuse me?" she said, looking up from her pad. "What did you just call me? What's your problem anyway?"

Leah scowled, staring irritably at Lisa. "It's not like it's loud or anything. Jeez."

"It's not loud..." Leah muttered, frowning. "What are those things you keep saying? Well, what do they mean, anyway? What language is it?" Questions, questions, questions. Curiosity killed the cover. "I'm still curious as to what you called me..." she added dryly.

Leah Wingate let out a disgruntled sigh, gathered up her iPad, and left the diner. Bloody Americans...

This was entirely unrelated to the fact that her writer had to go eat.
