Dislikes:
Elves || Humans || Dragons || Premature judgement || Cities ||

Strengths:
Very strong/fit || Empathetic and caring || Confident and willing to take risks

Weaknesses/Fears:

Personality:
Richter may appear to come off as apathetic and uncaring to some, but this is mostly due to his stoic nature. He usually speaks calmly in most any situation, and usually doesn't express his feelings. However, in times of extreme elation or anger, he may erupt in laughter or...erupt (respectively). Because of his withdrawn ways, he sometimes has trouble getting close to people.

History:
Richter was born the bastard child of an Elven father and Human mother. His mother was a traveling merchant, selling goods, and met his father on the road. His parents separated after their initial meet up, but months later, his mother tracked down the Elven man, telling him that it would his responsibility to raise their (unknown to him) son since she simply didn't have the means. Richter never fit in when he lived in the Elven township; he was never as elegant as the other Elves, and couldn't keep up with their swiftness.

As could be expected, he was always bullied for being different. However, as he grew up, Richter got bigger, and bigger, and bigger. He went from being the short half-human kid to the giant half-human kid, with muscle to boot. He didn't receive as much ridicule after he got bigger, but it still happened. One day, he finally snapped at someone who was making fun of him, and attacked him. For this, he was thrown out of town, and disowned by his father who already didn't want him around. Richter tracked down the brother of his mother, who lived on a farm, and took the teenaged half-elf in. Richter loved the farm, his aunt, uncle, and his cousins, as they never treated him any differently, and were actually rather fond of having him around. However, one day, he left, seeking a job in a nearby town. One thing led to another, and he's been adventuring around ever since. He is a religious official in both the Church of Syrix and Temple of Crow.

So begins...

As her feet continuously struck the hard ground, Anneliese was all ready beginning to wonder why she'd agreed to this ridiculous quest. Because you wanted out of the court her minded whispered to her. The thought served little to comfort Anne as she followed her new companions. She'd never met them before, though that was no surprise. There were many of the world that Anne had never met. She sighed softly, picking up her pace a bit. She was rather tired of simply following. Soon, she was walking rather close to..what was his name again? Richter. She struggled trying to keep up with him. He was so much taller than her and so his strides were much longer.

Anneliese recalled the groups first meeting. She had arrived early..quite early to the large castle that was located in the Human Capitol city of Silanos. She'd been granted entrance rather quickly as she often visited the city. She'd been shown to the main throne room, where upon the large throne, sat the king, Thranduin. The old King was getting on in his years and so could no longer travel as he used to. They had waited for the others to arrive. Anne had been rather surprised to see the group that had been chosen for the quest. Anne did not question the King. His word was law in her eyes. They had set out immediately, on foot. Anneliese was unsure why they could not have ridden. It would have made for much quicker travel.

That had been two days ago. Anneliese had been rather quiet for the first part of their travel. Now, however, she found herself growing rather bored of the silence. She looked up at Richter, her eyes looking him over. He was much taller than a Human should be. There was no doubt in her mind that he was only half Human. She was unsure of how to react to such a creature. They were quite rare to come across. "We should be near Drach. I've no doubt that we should reach it within the day. Perhaps someone there will have heard of the Dragon that we seek. There is a inn. That will be our best bet, do you not agree?" She fell silent, waiting for the man to reply. She'd only spoken to him and Celestenia once or twice. She would need to be more friendly. It was hard telling how long they would be on this quest. "And you, Lady Celestenia..what do you think?"

Richter looked around as the city's gates opened, and his gaze was immediately drawn to the tall spires of the castle set in the center of Silanos. Discrimination seemed to follow him wherever he went, however, Silanos was better compared to most places; the city was so large, and people saw so many odd things, that he didn't stick out as much as he did in many places. It didn't take much time for him to reach the gates of the castle, cape swooshing behind him with each step. That, along with his ensemble of shiny armor, gave him a rather regal look for someone who was merely a mercenary. "Richter Lazarus. I come answering the summon of King Thranduin!" He yelled to the guards before they could question him. Cautious of the man, they opened the gates and kept an eye on him. He was taller than a tall elf, although he had the broad shoulders of a human. Although his ears had a slight point to them, it was not very noticeable. Inside, he was brought to the king. There was a young woman in the room.

Celestenia arrived to the castle much earlier than she needed to, although what could she say? She was eager to get started and help. It took much convincing for her to even get into the gates, but after a while, the guards begrudgingly allowed her audience with the king. "Now, woman, explain to me who you are?" Thranduin demanded. "Y-your majesty! I am here in the place of Sigmund!" The king eyed her suspiciously. "I sent for Sigmund specifically, as he has done work for the throne before," Celeste was from Silanos, and her brother doing any work for the crown was news to her. "Tell me, why are you standing before me, and not him?" Celeste gulped. "Sigmund is my brother. He said he cannot leave, and sent me instead." Thranduin leaned back in his throne hesitantly.

=========================================================================================================

"Yes, that ought to be a good place to start, Lady Anneliese." Richter seemed to always be referring to her as such, as if he felt the need to acknowledge her ladyship or royal ties. Celestenia perked up when she heard her name. Honestly, she felt out of place among the big adventurer and the elegant lady; she was just a street rat, after all. Hell, she wasn't even supposed to be there. Then again, she wasn't sure if those two knew that. "Y-yeah, I think that's a good idea." She adjusted the bag on her shoulder and followed along behind the two of them, letting Richter lead the way.

Anne smiled upon hearing her companions replies. The small town that they were headed to would hopefully lead them in the right direction. She'd fallen silent again, thinking. Suddenly, she spoke something that was bothering her. "Wonderful! It has been a long time sine I've been to Drach......All of the Dragons were struck with the Sickness. If that's true, then the Dragon we seek is infected as well. Then, is there a cure? How in the world can we help a treasure crazed Dragon? This isn't going to be easy. He could easily kill us all before we can even get close to him."

Anneliese's long flowing green outfit billowed as she continued walking. Perhaps they could find a solution in Drach. She hoped, anyway. She wasn't looking forward to meeting the Dragon nor begging for his help. His kind was responsible for the trouble the world was currently in. "What if Ethron realizes what we are up to? I cannot imagine him sitting idly by." She was concerned that they would be found before they reached the supposed Dragon that still remained upon the Lower Lands. Why was this Dragon the only one that had not heeded the call of Ethron? Annelise could find no answer to this. If the Dragon did not right out kill them, she would very much like to ask him.

As they walked along the well known path, a few travelers passed every now and then upon horseback. Anne suddenly slowed her pace, walking with Celestenia. She was silent for a few moments, eyeing her from the corner of her eyes. "From where do you hail from, Lady Celestenia?" She'd decided it best to speak with the other woman. They would need to all get along if they were going to survive this.

Richter looked down on the dirt path they walked on. In secret, he hoped that they would not decide to stay the night in the inn, as he would rather camp outside the town. Even though many would consider the inn to be safer and more reasonable, Richter felt more comfortable camping. "If there is a cure, it has not been found. And I have little faith on us being the ones to discover it. We will have to find another way to convince him." He had a few things in mind.

His metal boots clanked against the ground, and the various buckles and weapons bounced up and down gently with each step. "Aye, I cannot imagine Ethron would stay his hand if he found out about what we are doing. Thankfully, we are few, so we should be able to avoid him finding out." Although Richter said this in good confidence, word about him tend to spread, particularly through a small town.

Celeste, on the other hand, walked quite silently. Her shorter steps made keeping up a tad more difficult, but she didn't mind hanging back a bit; it meant she could survey things safely from behind. She turned her head to Anne as she appeared by her side. "Oh, I'm from Silanos. And you, you're the Lady of The Realm, does that mean you're from the capital as well?" She looked Anneliese's green outfit up and down; it was much nicer than her leather and cloth clothes, and it felt strange being with such an important person.

Anneliese smiled kindly at the other young woman. "No. I'm from Ing'tasa, a poor village that is located not far from here, actually. I married a sea merchant and moved to Silanos. He was killed upon his ship..by thieves. The King took me in as I vowed to serve justice to any that dared to go against the law. I worked hard for my title. That is the only reason I am not still in Ing'tasa." She fell silent, her eyes watching Richter from behind. "And you, Sir Richter? Where are you from?"

Anneliese was curious about her companions though she hoped she wasn't bothering them too badly. She was unsure of how much time had passed but it seemed like they'd been upon the road for a very long time. It couldn't be much longer before they would reach Drach. She knew that any they asked about the Dragon would be hesitant to speak of him. Most feared the creatures and preferred to simply ignore the fact that they still roamed the world. To think that this Dragon they sought was their only hope. What had the world come to? "I believe that I can see Drach from here. Should we perhaps start at the local shops? Then we can meet back at the inn for the night. What do you two think?"

The young woman was silent, allowing her companions to speak. She still couldn't believe that they were hunting a Dragon. She could remember the first she heard the King speak of it. She'd nearly laughed at him before remembering her place. Honestly, though, she was so curious about the creature. Her eyes fell to Richter once again. He was a strange one. Though, she rather liked him all ready. He was polite and kind and had yet to anger her, which was saying something. She smiled, glad of both her companions. She couldn't imagine anyone better.

Far off in the wilderness, a large cliff was located. It was here that the lone Dragon remained. For many long years he'd been slumbering, happy in his mountains of gold that he'd hoarded. He still slept, unaware of his impending visitors. As he slept, he dreamed of the time before his kind had fallen ill. It had been a wonderous time. All the races had loved one another. There had been no fighting, no pain. This was a time that the Dragon wished deep down in his heart would come once again. However, that would not happen with Ethron ruled the skies. Yet, all Ilfirinon currently cared about was his hoard of gold. He was slowly getting paranoid. He feared that someone would come, intent on taking his treasures. He felt terrible for any that dared venture into his domain.

"Oh..I'm sorry." Celeste muttered. She hadn't meant to bring up any dirt. She glanced up to Richter as Anneliese asked him the question. "I'm originally from Lenwë. Although I would hardly call it home." Dropping the Elven name confirmed any doubts there might have been about him.

Richter had yet to form much of an opinion about his companions. Honestly, he wasn't likely to. As long as they didn't mess up or get in the way, he wouldn't mind them. In all honestly, he was more focused on the task at hand. Unlike most, Richter had actually met a dragon before. The dragon shifted forms and took the place of an Elven king. When he was cornered and discovered, he shifted back, and fled to the mountains where his treasure horde was hidden. Celeste had come to like Anne, she seemed friendly enough. However, she was still wary of Richter, he seemed a bit intimidating besides his formal nature.

Richter turned as he heard Anneliese speak again. "We should split up. Try and use your ladyship to gain audience with a city official, and see if they know of anything. Celestenia, you could walk the streets and ask people. I'll go to shops and the inn to question those there. Does this sound like a good plan to you, m'lady?"

Anne smiled up at Richter. "That is a wonderful idea. Celestenia and I will find you at the inn once we are finished. Hopefully, we'll find out exactly where the Dragon is quickly. The sooner we find him, the sooner we can get this quest over with." she said as they entered into the small town. Eyes were immediately upon and why Anneliese could not be sure. If she had to guess it was most likely due to Richter's size. "This is where I leave you two. I'll see you all later. Good luck!" Anne left the group, heading in the direction of the town governor.

As she walked, Anne couldn't help but wonder if anyone in the town would know of the Dragon. Dragons were rare in the Lower Lands now and asking around about them was never a good thing. Suddenly, Anne realized that she'd reached the medium sized home, no doubt this was where the Governor resided. She walked up to the door and then knocked upon the old wood. She could hear movement and simply waited. It didn't take long before the Governor opened the door, smiling at Anneliese. "My my..what do we have here?"

Anneliese was used to men such as this one. They were spoiled and had never wanted for anything. She did not care for their kind. However, she needed his help in order to find the information they needed. She forced a smile upon her face. "Good day, sir. My name is Anneliese Ingarn and I am a Lady of the Realm. I was wondering if I could speak to you for a few moments about a urgent matter of state?" The man seemed to think for a second before bidding her enter the home. He led the way through the home to the main sitting area. Anne took the seat that was offered to her. She was silent, waiting for her host to join her.

He sat, his eyes almost glued to her. "Now, my Lady, please tell me what I can help his majesty with." Anne hesitated for only a moment before she spoke. "I am looking for one of the only known Dragons that still lives here in the Lower Lands. Do you know anything of his location?" The Governor looked almost as if he couldn't believe that she'd asked such a question. "I can only imagine why the King wishes to find a Dragon..and I doubt you'd tell me why. However, I'm afraid that I know little of the Dragon you seek. There is someone I can send you to..he may know something. But know he is considered a lunatic. I would not be surprised if he wouldn't tell you anything." The man gave Anne directions to the man's home.

She quickly left the Governor's home, walking as quickly as she could. It took her a few minutes to reach the run down home that was located on the border of the small town. She, once again, approached and knocked, waiting for someone to answer. Just as Anneliese was about to leave, the door opened revealing a aging old man. Anne quickly bowed to the man, showing her respect. "I'm terribly sorry to disturb you, sir..but I was told to come and see you. Might I enter so that we may speak in private?"

The man allowed her to enter and so she did. The pair made their way to the kitchen table and sat. "And just what can I help you with, my dear?" "I was told that you may know something of the Dragon that remains in the Lower Lands. I need any information that you have on him. I am on a urgent quest by order of the king and any information you give will be remembered. I will see to it that you are rewarded for your help."

The man smiled at Anneliese. "Most here believe me mad..why would you believe anything I say?" Anne smiled kindly at the man. "I believe there is truth in every story. I do not believe that you are mad at all. Just misunderstood.""Very well. I will tell you what I know. The Dragon that you seek is said to be the last known to still live down here. He is, in fact, carrying the Sickness. He will be difficult to reason with. There is no known cure for the disease so I cannot help you there. The Dragon's lair is located not far from here, actually. Most likely no more than a day's hike. You will head to the North until you come to a cliff that overlooks the waterfall. There is a opening behind the waterfall, towards the bottom where it turns into the ocean. There is a cave..none have ever entered and returned so I cannot tell you what exactly waits for you. He's not left in some time, though. He's most likely sleeping. If you are silent, perhaps you can find a good place to hide before waking him. I do not know much else, I'm afraid. If you go seeking him, please be careful. With the Sickness flowing through his veins he will be unpredictable."

Anneliese thanked the man and left, making her way quickly to the inn. She entered into the building, walking slowly. She had no idea where her companions were. She sighed softly before taking a seat in the back corner. She would wait for them to join her. She'd luckily been able to find out quite a bit. Now..how to convince the crazed Dragon that he should help them defeat Ethron.

The interior of the inn was nice and spacious; travelers often stopped in the small town, so the owners tried hard accommodate them with a nice place to stay. A bar stood in the far wall, and the stairs went up on the side opposite Anneliese to an area upstairs where there was another table or two to sit at, and a hallway with rooms on either side. The relative quiet mumbles were rudely interrupted when Richter came tumbling down the stairs, head over heels, with a man jogging down after him.

========================================================================================================

"Good luck to you too!" Celeste called as she split up with her companions. Alright, the streets...usually her home territory, although Drach was small enough that things still seemed foreign, very different from the bustling streets of Silanos. She wished her brothers were there to back her up, as things usually were. "No, I can do this." She thought to herself whilst taking a deep breath. "Excuse me, sir?" She waved down someone that walked by. "Have you any knowledge about Dragons? I hear there is one that still resides in the lower lands." The man perked an eyebrow at the odd question. "Well, I've heard the rumors and the legends. Word is that he lives in a cave, near the ocean. At least, that's what the crazy old man says."

"What old man?" She questioned. "Oh," the man explained, "there's an old man that lives somewhere around here that spouts a lot of stories about dragons. Don't pay him any mind, though, he's merely a madman." Celeste shrugged and thanked him, happy to have gained the information about this old man, even though it took her a while to wave someone down to question them. She figured the information sufficed, and that she and the others could confront the man after regrouping. After all, if this man truly was a lunatic, it might be best to have back up. Celeste headed off towards the inn.

========================================================================================================

Meanwhile, Richter look the inn over as he entered. He gathered plenty of stares, usual in a small town like this, as he approached the front counter. "Three rooms. And an ale." He said, putting down a small satchel with money as the innkeeper slid over three keys and fetched him an ale. Richter took the drink up to the second level, figuring he would have a better chance of spotting someone that looked like they would know something from there. He set his drink down on one of the tables without a second thought, and headed off into one of the rooms to put his things away. After all, lugging around all those weapons and armor grew tiring after a while. Richter stepped back out in more casual clothes. The silver ring on his hand could be more easily seen now, along with the small sapphire residing on it. The ring was a gift from the Temple of Crow, and he also bore a necklace of Syrix which was now visible.

His eyes widened a bit in curiosity as he noticed his drink was now missing from the table he left it, but as he scanned the room, he quickly noticed the men from the table next to him had grabbed it, as they all still had ale in their mugs, and Richter's nearly full mug sat next to them. "Excuse me." Richter said, approaching. "I believe you have my drink." He said, a hint of anger obvious in his voice. "Piss off." The slightly intoxicated man responded, reaching over to the glass he stole and taking a big gulp before giving a yellow-toothed smile. "Alright. Now you owe me a drink." Richter sighed, as he was looking forward to having a drink after the day's walk.

"I don't owe you nothin', you stinking Elf bred bastard!" Richter's eyes narrowed, just waiting to see if the man would escalate things. To be completely truthful, he was kind of hoping he would, just so he could work out the anger. The man gave him a push in the chest, and Richter stumbled back a bit. He gave him another push; except this time, one of his buddies was waiting with his foot behind Richter's legs, and he tumbled backwards down the stairs, garnering the attention of most patrons. The drunk went down after him, but Richter brought his fist into the man's stomach as he stood up. He grabbed the man by the collar and swung him down, about to slam him on the ground when he noticed Anneliese sitting in the corner.

"Lady Anneliese!" He gasped, acknowledging her and grabbing the man before he hit the ground. "I was unaware you were here-" He set the man back up on his feet, but he took a cheap swing at Richter's face. Richter caught his fist, and twisted his arm around in a chicken wing behind his back, forcing the man to do a bow of sorts, that Richter matched. "Can't you see the Lady of The Realm is here?" He said when he was bent over next to the man. The man nodded and struggled in pain before Richter let him go and he scurried off. "Any luck today?I've just been here trying to keep a low profile." He joked as he went to sit with Anneliese.

The moment Richter came tumbling down the stairs, Anne's eyes were glued to him. She would have helped him but decided it best to let him settle whatever had caused the confrontation. When Richter joined her at last, Anne waited for him to sit before she spoke. "I've had more luck than you, by the looks of it." she said, a smile on her face. "I believe we should wait until Celestenia. This way, I can tell you both what I've found. And you? Did you find out anything?"

She fell silent, listening to her companion. As she was sitting with Richter, she could imagine what had happened to cause the shuffle that she'd just witnessed. It had to be hard for him..not being of either race. Her eyes fell onto his face. She could not imagine living such a life. Still, he seemed as if he'd not let it bring him down. She was glad.

When Celestenia finally joined them, Anneliese finally spoke of what the old man had told her. She left nothing out, making sure that her companions knew everything that she knew. "So, now all we need to figure out is how to go about this. He will no doubt be angry when we enter his lair. Do either of you have a plan? I am used to remaining in the shadow, attacking with surprise. I doubt that will work on a Dragon. If what the old man said is true, then the Dragon will be sleeping. However, the old man did not know how deep within the cave the Dragon rested or how long he would remain oblivious to our presence."

Richter looked back around over his shoulder. "I found some trouble. But that's about all. And I've got us some rooms." He slid over a room key for her. Richter sighed slightly as he tapped his fingers, waiting for Celestenia to arrive. Eventually she walked in, and rushed over to the table.

"I think I might have got-" She started, although it seems her companions didn't hear her, as Anneliese started speaking. What she had to say was more important though; as she had information on the very man Celestenia heard about. She was actually rather glad about this, it meant they could get things started sooner. She quieted down when it came to planning time.

"I've been in a Dragon's lair before. I can take point and grab his attention, possibly start negotiating. Both of you look rather quiet, so you can sneak in from behind. I'll try and find cover when I can.

"If you are certain. We should most likely hold off from attacking him unless we need to. It will only serve to anger him. Celestenia and I will stay together. If that is okay with you, Celestenia?" She paused, allowing Celestenia to answer. The only thing they had to discover was if it was actually possible to cure the Sickness. Everything had been tried before and with no success. It was only when the Dragons could not be cured that the Hunting began. Why did their King believe that they could succeed where all others had failed? "I must admit that I am worried. The old man said that none had ever left the cave once they entered. What if we can not get through to him?"

She was silent once again. Dragons were mostly only myth in the Lower Lands. It was for that reason that the King had kept the impending threat silent. Had any of the people found out..there would be widespread panic. Anneliese sighed softly. "At any rate, I'm exhausted. I think that I'm going to go ahead and turn in. I suggest you two do the same. If the information is correct, we'll be able to reach the cliff sometime tomorrow. Then, we'll have to make our way to the bottom of the waterfall. It would be best to set up camp up top and then proceed down the following morning. We will be well rested and fair a better chance."

She paused for a moment before turning her gaze to Celestenia. "If you'd like, Celestenia, I can do your hair for you before you retire? It will stay out of your face much better. And goodnight Sir Richter. We will see you in the morning. Bright and early, I hope. The sooner we get going, the better." She hoped that Celestenia had not taken offence to her offer. She had merely thought that it would be a nice change for the other woman. She didn't know much about her, but she could tell that her companion normally didn't take extra care with her appearance. If she had to guess, she simply just didn't have the time or it wasn't a priority. It was hard to tell without asking.

"I do not plan on attacking. Such a move would be rather foolish, considering we need to enlist his help. However, if the dragon chooses otherwise, I'll take the force of his retaliation. And I'm sure we will find a way through to him. There is a first time for everything, eh?" Richter said confidently. In his mind, it was best to approach things with such confidence.

Celeste thought things over silently. She had brought climbing supplies, and she was glad for that, but the prospect of seeing a dragon both frightened and excited her. It would be foreign and scary, but how many people experience something like that? In fact, Richter was one of the few that had seen a dragon before. It was a dragon that had survived the hunting, and gone under cover as Elven royalty for quite some time, until it was discovered. Years ago, a party of mercenaries were sent into its cave to hunt it down, Richter being among them. Presumably, that is why Thranduin called upon him.

Richter stood up and nodded when she suggested turning in. "Aye, I'll see you both in the morning. Goodnight, ladies." He gave a quick nod and headed upstairs. Celeste turned when she was addressed in the conversation, and smiled. She always just let her red hair fall down naturally, and only having her brothers around never gave her much motivation to do anything with it. "That would be fantastic, thank you!"

Anneliese smiled brightly at her companion. She then led the way up to her room and unlocked the door. She then ushered in Celestenia. She then shut the door and led her companion over to the small sitting chairs. She then made her way over to the small vanity, where there were a few brushes and combs. She picked one up and then made her way back to Celestenia. She stood behind her and then began gently brushing through her hair. "I remember when I was growing up in Ing'tasa, my mother would spend hours just brushing my hair. I miss her terribly. I have not been back there in a very long time. What about you? I have yet to ask you of your family."

She went quiet, allowing her new friend to speak. As she listened, she sat the brush down and began deftly braiding Celestenia's hair quite intrically. She took her time, making sure each strand was in its proper place. It didn't take her long to finish, and she sat the brush back down on the vanity. She then pulled her hair out of the half updo that she normally kept it in. She ran one of the other brushes through her hair quickly. She then made her way to the bed and sat down upon it. "We are more alike than I thought. I have a feeling that we will be dear friends by the end of this. I've no siblings and most are intimidated by my title. I do hope that is not the case with you."

She eyed the other young woman closely for a moment, allowing her once again to answer her question. Actually, thinking about it now, Anne could not remember her last friend. None in her small town care for her..especially after she'd left to become so much more important than she ever would have been there.

Celeste followed her with a smirk, and sat down in the chair, examining herself in the mirror. "O-oh. My father died in a logging accident when I was young, and my mother died delivering my younger brother. My older brother, Sigmund, was really the one to get us on our feet." She paused briefly and watched as the brush came down through her hair. "In fact, Sigmund's the one who's supposed to be here. He said he couldn't come and sent me in his place. Don't tell Richter or anybody else though, I don't want him to think I'm not capable." It was kind of nice getting the secret out, especially since she never even planned on spilling the beans.

She quieted down and let Anneliese finish the braid, but smiled afterwards. "Yes, I hope so." She thanked her once again before stepping out and going into her own room, where she examined her hair some before going to bed.

Before turning in, Richter said his nightly prayers. He woke up at dawn the next morning, and said some more prayers before strapping the various pieces of plate armor on. After stepping outside with all his things, he waited patiently for his companions in front of the inn.

Anneliese had no intentions of telling their other companion of what she'd just found out about Celestenia. It mattered little to her if it was in fact her brother that was supposed to be with them. She watched as the other woman left her and headed to her room. Anneliese proceeded to finish getting ready for bed before she finally laid down, falling asleep rather quickly.

The next morning, Anneliese rose very early. She bathed, did her hair as usual, and then dressed. She quickly gathered her things and then made her way outside. There, she found Richter waiting. She smiled at him before joining him as they waited for Celestenia. "Good morning. You have rested well?" she asked. She was silent for a few moments, allowing him to speak. "To think that we are so close to finding this Dragon. I truly hope that we can convince him to aid us. If not, all is lost."

At last, Celestenia joined them. Anneliese quickly pushed her way from the others, walking quickly. They needed to reach the waterfall before night otherwise they would be unable to surprise the creature. The longer they took, the more likely it would be that he would not be asleep. They traveled for some time before she stopped. It was near midday and she'd decided that they could afford a small break. "We can rest here for a bit. I don't know about you two, but I could use something to eat."

Anneliese quickly built a fire so that they could fix something light to eat. She'd brought with them some bread and veggies and she set about fixing some soup. She knew that it wasn't much, but..it would get them through until they could afford the time for hunting or them came across another town. Soon enough, the meal was ready and she divided it equally. She handed each of her companions a bowl filled with hot soup and a piece of bread. It was then that she began eating her own. She was rather silent now. Her nerves were beginning to get to her. The closer they got to the Dragon, the worse she felt. She'd never met a Dragon before and she wouldn't care to never meet one. It was said that they were all different but would this one be kind or evil? "This time tomorrow we will have met with the Dragon. The first part of our quest over. It will only keep getting harder. I've no doubt. Though we have not seen battle together, I know that I could have asked for no better companions. Together, we will save our world."

Richter's eyes moved to the door of the inn as Anneliese stepped out. "Good morning, my lady." He spoke, then nodded to answer her question, accompanied with a small "Aye." He seemed to think about her statement for a moment; in all honesty, he might have been a little scared, but seemed much less anxious than his companions. Maybe it was because even a crazy quest like this was still not too out of the ordinary to him. "We will find a way to persuade the dragon, one way or another."

Celeste awoke groggily as the sun shone in her eyes. She was more of a night owl, and was used to sleeping in late. With a groan, she rolled out of bed and got ready, eventually heading outside to meet her companions. After muttering a slight apology, they were off. The day seemed to drag on without event, and both Richter and Celeste agreed that a break would be good.

Celeste helped Anneliese build the fire, meanwhile Richter stood around, watching the area around them carefully. "This time tomorrow we will have met the Dragon." The statement made Celeste nervous. Dragons? What was she getting herself into? She nibbled anxiously on the bread and ate some of the soup before passing the rest off to Richter, who finished it heartily.

"Yes, I see much turmoil ahead, though I have faith we can surpass it without issue. We should continue," Richter said, standing up, and setting off ahead.

Anneliese nodded and then gathered up her few items that she'd used to fix their lunch. She then began walking next to Richter, though his strides were much wider than hers. As they walked, Anne kept her gaze about them. The closer to the cliff they got, the less their was the sounds of animals. Was it possible that the animals that would have normally inhabited the area had sensed what lay slumbering so close? "The animals have sensed him. I wonder..is this normal? Do the creatures of our lands fear Dragons as well? This is all very strange. We must be close."

Anneliese could already feel the breeze picking up. They were so very close now. She spent the rest of the time keeping her gaze about them. She doubted the Dragon would be out and about but she didn't want to risk it. "Are you worried at all, Celestenia? About meeting the Dragon, I mean." She was trying to keep her mind off of the impending meeting. She'd wondered how her new friend felt about the impending meeting. There were very few in the world that had ever met a Dragon. Anneliese was not one of those. She'd only ever heard of the stories of their cruelty.

At last, Anne's feet reached the cliff's edge. She looked down, realizing exactly how much hiking they were going to have to do the next day. "I think we should camp It should be nice enough tonight that we shouldn't need any shelter. Just a fire. I can fix something for dinner if you all would like. I'm afraid it won't be much, though. We've not been able to hunt for some time so our supplies are beginning to run a bit low.."

Anneliese smiled brightly at her companions. Cooking was something that she didn't normally get to do when she was in Silanos. So, she was cooking at every opportunity that she got. She began fixing the fire and watched as it roared to life. She then began boiling some water. She then turned her gaze to Richter. "I think that I won't be able to sleep tonight. I'll be far too worried that the dragon will escape from us if I do not stay up." She laughed lightly, a sign that she was joking. She began adding a few ingredients to the water, watching as it mixed together. She was growing rather fond of both of her companions. It was not often that she allowed anyone this close to her.

Celeste strayed behind the pair a bit, as she didn't try to match the long strides set by the man in front. Richter seemed to perk up when the animals started dissapearing, as he recognized it as a classic sign of something bigger, stronger, and more dangerous being in the area. Then again, part of it might just be that the plants were thinning out.

Richter looked over the cliff, and Celeste ran up and stood on its edge. She may have been afraid of many things, however, heights was not one of those things. "I'll get started on the fire." Celeste said as she began gathering things up. Soon, Anne had joined her and the fire got going.

"Well, you best be able to find a way to sleep, you will need the energy tomorrow. We can take watches, if you'd like." While Celeste had started to feel friendly with Anneliese, Richter still viewed the relationship between him and his companions as strictly professional. As were his ways, though, he didn't become attached to people easily in the first place, but when he was working a dangerous job with them, he purposefully tried to keep his distance.

"I can go hunting. I have a fair amount of experience, I used to go hunting for my uncle."

"That would be wonderful. Then,we can have something a bit more substantial. That will definitely help us tomorrow. It will give us the strength that we'll need." Anne fell silent, continuing to work on the broth that she'd begun cooking. It would serve to keep them warm, at the very least if Richter was able to bring something back. She hoped that he was successful. Honestly, she was beginning to tire of only soup and bread every day..for every meal.

While Richter was gone, Anneliese sat at the fire but spoke to Celestenia. "I'll be glad when we have this part of our journey over with. I must admit that I am not looking forward to tomorrow. But, I've no doubt that we'll be able to succeed. Have you ever come face to face with such a creature before?" she asked, eyeing her new friend. She only hoped that they'd discover a way to break the Sickness. Suddenly, a odd thought struck her. Had anyone actually tried speaking with a crazed Dragon? A silly notion, to be sure but still. It was something to think about.

Talking to a Dragon that cared for nothing but gold was enough to cause her to be laughed at. Anneliese would not peak of this to either of her companions. If the opportunity presented it, she would try. However, she would be more worried about her companions during the encounter.

Richter gave Anneliese nod. "Good. No offense meant, my lady, but some hearty meat will do a man like me good." After shedding his heavy, rather noisy armor, Richter headed off with his crossbow, a few bolts, and a hunting knife.

I've never seen such a thing. Honestly, I hardly ever left the city, the 'mightiest beast' I've ever come face to face with is a drunken city guard." Celeste was nervous about the next day, but still wanted to move ahead with the plan. Every time she felt like she couldn't face the Dragon, she told herself that if Sigmund could go and do it, so could she. "Have you ever seen something so fearsome?"

After skulking around for a while, the half-elf heard a noise that caused him to whirl around. He got the familiar feeling of his stomach dropping, the 'sixth sense' every adventurer came to develop after enough time. He concentrated at the slight sounds of footsteps of whatever was stalking him...at least two, maybe three creatures were surrounding him.

All of a sudden, a wolf pounced out from the brush. As Richter turned to face it, the giant canine landed on his chest and brought him to the ground. He was barely able hold the thing back with one hand as he reached for his knife, which he brought up and into the thing's chest. After a quick twist, the wolf's snarls went quiet and its body fell limp. From a distance, he saw another coming. Quickly pushing the thing off of him, he scrambled for his crossbow he had dropped. After grabbing it, he took aim and shot a bolt at the charging wolf.

Richter let out heavy breaths after the ordeal. Hastily, he gathered his things, and hoisted each body over his shoulders. He made sure he didn't dawdle on his hike back, in case anything else came looking for him.
