(Moonglade is made-up.)

The world has known that the supernatural exist for a long time now. Years ago, werewolves made peace with humans and vowed to protect them from other species out there like vampires, sirens, and other beings that intended to harm the mundane. Since then, each town and city has had a small werewolf pack protecting them. The werewolves have earned the name “The Protectors.” Moonglade, a small town nestled in the Colorado Mountains, has yet to have a pack claim the town as theirs to protect. Until now. Two small werewolf packs have stumbled upon Moonglade around the same time. The Blackwell pack moved into a large homestead to the north of Moonglade, and the Mollohan pack moved into one to the south of the town. The Mollohan pack came to Moonglade a week before the other pack, but it had yet to lay claim to the land before the Blackwell pack came.

It has been about a week since the Blackwell pack came, and both packs have caught wind- more like scent- of each other. If you didn’t know, werewolves are naturally territorial creatures. What they claim is theirs, well, it’s theirs. It’s that way with territory and mates. The only time a werewolf pack can lay claim to a town is during the harvest moon, which only happens once a year at the beginning of October. To lay claim, a pack must actually go into the town/city and shift in front of the denizens. This shows the humans that they trust them enough to show them their “true forms,” and it is a silent vow to protect them from other supernatural beings. However, if there is more than one pack in the town, the packs must fight until the literal death. Whichever pack is left standing, they lay claim to the town. This rarely happens, but it has in Moonglade. It is July and there’s three months until the Harvest moon. What will become of these packs?

Will one leave and the other stay? Or will they both not back down and it all end fatally? After all, Moonglade is not big enough for more than one pack. There’s always combining packs as well. Bigger in number, stronger, and both get to stay in the town with no casualties. However, how can combining a pack work if both absolutely detest and hate each other? There will be blood. There will be betrayal. And it will not end pretty. Question is. . .

Whose pack are you in?

(Leaving a lot of room in this plot to be character-based/driven. This is just a loose plot to go by. If you have any ideas or questions feel free to voice them in the OOC.)

Before you ask: yes, Face Claims can be changed. HOWEVER. . . I like the ones I have, and if you feel the need to go about changing things I want a good reason, not just because you “felt like changing it.” Let me know and provide me with a GIF or the change will not be accepted.

Competing for a character is permitted as well.

The Blackwell Pack
They live to the north side of Moonglade, right outside of town. The town is surrounded by a thick coverage of woods. Their homestead, like the other packs’, is in these woods. It is easier access for them to shift and patrol the area this way without being seen. They live close to the large lake which is called “Moony Lake.”

Werewolf Guide
Things you need to know about werewolves!

Werewolves are not slaves to the moon. During a full moon they have more of an urge to shift. They’re stronger and faster and their animal instinct kicks in more. However, they are not forced to shift, and can shift at will at all times.

• During a full moon is the only time a human can be turned into a werewolf. The human must be bit by the werewolf in its wolf form. The werewolf who bit them then becomes their “sire.” The human (now a werewolf and looked at like the “mutt” of the werewolf community) has a loyalty to their sire which surpasses that of pack loyalty. They have a special bond with their sire as well, being able to feel certain emotions of one another, and have the urge to protect/be around each other.

• A werewolf who has one purebred parent and one human parent is also looked at as a mutt.

• A mutt cannot turn a human into a werewolf. It must be a purebred.

• When a werewolf shifts their clothes will rip and tear, sometimes losing their clothes completely. Here’s your warning, kiddos.

• The first part of the password which must be on your character sheet to be accepted is Loyalty,

• Werewolves have many animal-like qualities, even in their human forms. They growl/snarl sometimes and can flash their wolf fangs/canines. Alphas do this a lot.

• In their wolf forms werewolves can speak telepathically. Alphas can do this even in their human form to command a pack member to do something. Alpha word is like law and hard to disobey.

• They are also very territorial (like stated above) and can become violent rather easily. Most wolves have explosive behavior.

• Their senses like smelling, hearing, sight, and so forth are greater than a humans’. They are also much stronger and faster.

• A werewolf’s wolf form is only a little bigger than an actual wolfs’. No Twilight crap.

• Silver can only harm a werewolf if it penetrates their skin. It can make them sick and if left there a long time it can be deadly.

• Wolfsbane, when digested, is deadly to werewolves.

• A silver bullet to the brain or heart kills a werewolf instantly.

• They heal quicker than your average human.

• Werewolves age slower than humans physically and live longer, up to 140 years.

• In their wolf form, a werewolf’s eyes are a yellow/golden color.

• Werewolves mate for life like actual wolves, once their mate dies they grieve for a long time. Most do not find another mate once this happens.

The Character Sheet

I want good, detailed, thought-out characters. I want to feel like I really know these guys. Make me and Captain fall in love with them and fangirl. C’mon. I know you’re an amazing writer and have the ability to do so. ;P We have the right to reject any character we do not see fit for this role-play. I know that won’t happen because you’re awesome!

The Rules

I’m the GM and that means I am the head honcho. Sorta like the alpha, y’know? So please be respectful to me and my little Co-GM, CaptainHooligan, and we will be the same to you. Let’s all be friends, okay? ^^

• This role-play is one of the advanced variety. That means, no one-liners or one paragraph posts. I want things thought out and detailed. No posts below 300 words (minimum), please and thank you. Also, if you cannot use proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and so forth do not even bother joining. Text talk is absolutely unacceptable. I would hate to not accept your character. :/

• There are quite a bit of roles open. Truthfully, I don’t want a lot of writers because things get confusing. So, if you could take on two characters that’d be perfect! One male and one female. Or two males. If you can’t, I understand. It’d be absolutely amazing if you could though. :)

• Reservations last 48 hours. I would rather you have a WIP in before then, but it isn’t a must. Once the 48 hours are up the role will be opened back up for grabs.

• This is an adult/mature role-play. Please, if you are not comfortable with swearing, sexual situations, blood/gore, and violence, then please do not join.

• That being said, do not go overboard with the swearing, and when it comes to sexual content, once the clothes come off use the nifty “fades to black” or something along those lines. Take it somewhere else!

• Do not join, post once, and then vanish. Dude, that’s just not cool. :P Please try to keep up with things and post when you must. If you do not post within 10 days, your spot will open back up (unless you have PM’d me letting me know you’d be gone).

• The second part of the password (which MUST be put on your character sheet to be accepted) is and Dignity.

• Like stated (somewhere) above, this role-play plot is pretty open/character-based. If you have any ideas please feel free to let them be known. I love input and would love to hear from you! Keep active in the OOC Forum! (Please don’t throw in random, outrageous drama, though. Especially without discussing it with the rest of us!)

• Since there are packs in this role-play, discuss relationships with your other pack-mates. Make things fun! I will probably start up a relationships thread sometime soon!

• If you have any questions, comments, problems, or whatever, feel free to say so in the OOC, or if you would rather stay private, send me a PM! I like to think I'm pretty easygoing, so don't hesitate!

• Have FUN! That’s what this is about, to grow as a writer and let your imagination run wild. Be free, lovelies! ^^

The air was cooler now. The blood pumping through my veins slowed down and my heavy breaths with intermittent gasps eventually slowed down as well. I let out my first calm exhalation. The whole morning I had used up in order to get a sense of the landscape town, or rather the landscape of the woods surrounding it, and I used up the past few hours for what I aimed to be a light nap. But then three hours turned into four hours, and four into seven. Before I knew it, I was waking up at 5 o'clock in the evening, sweat drenching my sheets, and images of my dream gently teasing at my recollection. "At least it wasn't real," I said to myself, trying to focus on the coolness of my body rather than the heat burning through my head. But I knew, deep down, that the events that transpired within that dream were, at one point, my reality.

I rose from my bed. There was no need to spend the rest of my evening staring at a random spot on my ceiling, contemplating the justification for my being. The town still had much to be explored, and I wanted to be back inside before nighttime. I changed out of my shirt, put on one that wasn't soaked in sweat, and threw on some shoes and pants before heading outside of the homestead to see the town. Preferably, I would have liked to accompany Adrian on his endeavors, but perhaps my sleep caused me to miss him on his way out. I didn't bother looking around our new homestead to find him, I was sure that wherever he was, his antics would lead the way.

"I'm heading out!" I yelled back into the homestead before closing the back door. I didn't know if anyone was inside, but wanted to make sure that if they were, they would know of my absence. Of course, by "they" I was primarily thinking about Ronnie. She was like a sister to me now, and that made me afraid of a number of things. But perhaps my greatest, though very irrational, fear was that I'd leave the house one day and that she'd wake up thinking I was no longer there for her. I paused at the door for a moment, wondering if I should just take a quick peek back inside, but then decided I was being silly. "I should just get going," I thought to myself, "Ronnie can take care of herself..."

"Ronnie!" I yelled back into the homestead after reopening the back door, "if you're in here, just know that I'm heading out! I'll be back before sunset!" With my worries brought to a minimum I closed the door again. I wasn't even sure if she was in the homestead, but now my mind was again at ease. I hurried down the steps of the homestead and began on my way to town. The sun wasn't far away from setting and I still wanted to check out a good portion of the town. "Maybe I should have checked if Adrian was in the homestead before heading out," Ronnie wasn't the only one who worried me. "Have I always been such a worrywart?" I thought in my head, "must be the town."

I then headed towards town......after yelling back inside to Adrian, then Lou, about my whereabouts in case they were still in the house.

I was drawing when I heard Randolph yell to Ronnie how late he was going to be out. I only presumed he was heading towards town, because honestly, where else would he go? I had an urge to go and join him, but I really didn't talk to him much, and I wouldn't want to make the situation awkward.

I looked down to see what I was drawing. This may seem peculiar, but sometimes I draw subconsciously and I don't even know what I'm drawing. I looked at the former blank sheet to see something that I would mostly see in my nightmares. The setting was a forest, with tall and beautiful evergreen trees on a full moon night. There way a clearing, and something seemed to be lying in the middle of it. I didn't want to think any further of what it was, because in my heart I felt as if it were lifeless, dead. But my thoughts carried on out. It was a wolf, or at least a cadaver of one. Not any wolf I recognized, however. Not me, not my pack mates. Next to it - No, cuddling it - was a wispy human-like figure. I was utterly confused. What did this mean? I decided to ignore it, and jammed it into my sock drawer, where there were more pictures than socks.

I walked into the kitchen to make a cup of hot green tea. I really didn't like that picture. What if it was someone who died? Or someone whose going to die… Or maybe it was nothing. Maybe it was just my sick, twisted mind. I actually hoped it was."Dammit… No more tea bags?" I crossed my arms and started to pout. Maybe I should've told Rand to pick up some before he left.

Oh well.

I put on my shoes, grabbed some money out of my purse, wrote a note saying that I would be out for a quick grocery run, and headed out the door. If I ran into Rand, I would just give him a friendly smile and continue my way to the store. I wouldn't have wanted to bug him.

I had spent the night under the stars. The day prior I packed a backpack full of clothes and a few extra things I would need for the night - and left. I would never leave my pack permanently of course, but I needed a break. A break from what I wasn't sure - but from something. As of late my head felt as it was going to blow, and my body felt tense. It would be of no surprise if it had anything to do with the trivialities my pack is beginning to face. One cannot help but feel lost in your own mind at times. My relief from my lone adventures was short lived. I spent the night roaming the forest through canine eyes and staying in the shadows. Crackling of the fire soothed my nerves when I started it. I had always loved the sounds of flames, the sparkle of embers, and the taste of smoke. Something about how the flames danced in a rhythmic way unwinded my mind.

When I awoke the next morning on a simple bed on blankets the area around me was a gorgeous sight. The way the sun came up and the morning breeze hit my hair - it was a truly refreshing thing. As unfortunate as it was - I couldn't stay out forever, I had to return to my true home. My pack.

Home is wherever my pack goes. I've formed and undying love and devotion to those people. I'd gladly stick my life on the line for one of them. Walking down from the large hill I camped on I made my way back to my pack. Maybe I should have brought food back to at least make it look like I did something useful with my time, but in all honesty I didn't feel like hunting alone. Patting down my black shorts and brushing the dirt off my red tank top I took a deep breath and entered my new homestead. Not many were up as it was still early in the morning. I made my way to the kitchen to grab a small bite to each - my appetite being satisfied by a bowl of lucky charms I simply sat on the couch - watching the local news to pass the time.

I paced for a while where the dirt and the trees stopped and the stones of the town streets began before I entered the town. In that time, I came up with my plan on how I would go about exploring the town. With only a few hours before sundown I decided I would like to visit the town square. Within the square, I figured it would be easiest to find out about many of things that went on around the town. There was a library, the town hall, various stores and restaurants, and other little shops and buildings which gathering information about could help our pack later. The other buildings around the town--including some interesting houses I spotted while I was in the woods earlier in the morning--could be explored another day. They weren't so much less important than the buildings in town square, but the information I would get from them would be very specialized: I would be learning a lot about a certain area of the town rather than a lot about the overall happenings of the town. For getting a general sense of Moonglade, it would benefit me the most to poke around the town square.

I began walking towards the square. Everything that I saw on the way there made me feel more of a fondness towards the town. From the trees whose branches swung gently side-to-side in the wind to the old style houses craftily wedged between overwhelming thickets of wildlife, the town felt like a familiar childhood home. But as the nature thinned out--the thickets of nature turning into sparse copses--I began to realize a past home wasn't a place I wanted to remember. Thankfully, by the time the nostalgic wonder of the town's rustic outskirts wore off, I was already in the town square.

"Hey! Watch out!" a woman speeding on her bike said as she swerved around me. As I had been completely lost in my own thoughts she would had hit me if she wasn't paying attention. I waved at her and smiled awkwardly as she glared at me before disappearing into the streets. I was actually quite grateful she had almost it me; without her doing so I may have wandered aimlessly into the street like a lost dog about to get hit by a car. Also, since she shocked me back into reality, I was able to regain a grasp on my senses.

In the distance, somewhere behind me, I could smell a familiar scent trailing my own. It was someone from my pack: a Blackwell. I turned around quickly. Whoever it was still was quite a way away, but I could make out by the scent that it was a girl. I gave her a wave, hopefully one big enough for her to see. She seemed to be on her way to town, and as she came closer it became easier to tell who she was. I smiled and waved again. It was Lindsey, our hunter with the penchant for hot cocoa and tea. Maybe she was, like me, on her way to explore the town. But most likely she was on her way to refill our pack's tea bag supply.

I could feel myself coming closer and closer to my pack mate. He must have stopped? Once he was in visibility range, I saw him smile and wave. I blushed a little bit but then returned the gesture. My heart started to flutter, and I started to get uncomfortable. This wasn't new, it has happened before. I've dated at least eleven boyfriends before, and I always had felt like this with them… but this time, it was more intensified. However, I ignored it.

"Hi, Randolph," I said, the first syllable a little hoarse, but I managed to make my voice stronger. "How are you this evening?"

My hands were behind my back, like always. People say it shows superiority, confidence, and power… I say it's just a relaxing stance. As he started to respond, I looked at the background behind him. It might've been rude, but… the streets seemed familiar. Like, I've seen it before, but I've never actually seen it before. I can't remember the word, but I was in awe and I was just a tad bit afraid.
