"It's all good fun, right?"

a character in “C.H.I.P.S: THE DIGITAL WAR”, as played by Sorichyeobwa

Description

Image

Name: Anemone Breuer

Nickname: Monmon

Age: 27

Position: Driver

Height: 5’7”

Weight: 130lbs

Sex: Female

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

Appearance (Anime): Anemone has short, pitch-black hair that she impulsively decided to dye one sunny, workless morning. The style usually depends on how much a couple of strokes with a comb could tame it in the mornings, settling down as the day goes on. She usually cuts her hair herself, which is why it looks uneven and choppy. Her purple eyes, however, give away the fact that she’s Sari’s sister, along with her childish facial structure. Her body is toned and curvaceous, though she’s relatively flat-chested. Her skin is somewhat darker than her sister’s as she tans more easily, ranging from tan in the winter to bronze in the summer.

Her clothing choices usually depend on her plans for the day. When she doesn’t have too much work to do, Anemone prefers elegant, mature, form-fitting clothing, choosing between several pairs of black boots. She refuses to wear any clothes made out of animals, instead opting for faux-fur and manmade materials. Her tops usually have low-cut, off-the-shoulder, portrait, or draped necklines to make up for her lack of bust. She almost never wears long pants when she doesn’t have work, using thigh-high boots to cover up her skin in the winter. The accessories she uses are limited to hats, earrings, gloves, and a scarf once in a while. When she knows she’s headed for an action-filled day, she chooses to wear loose sports jackets instead. She still wears shorts, but uses thigh-high boots without heels instead during the winters. Sometimes, she gets lazy and doesn’t wear a shirt under the sports jacket, but she usually keeps the jacket zipped to cover herself up.

Handed (Right and/or Left): Left

Tattoos/Piercings: One of her ears is pierced, in the lobe. She also has a butterfly tattoo on the back of her right shoulder.

Markings: She has the scars of a severe burn on her right forearm from an accident, but is otherwise unscathed.

Fears: Pain, small spaces, becoming deformed

Likes: Creatures that can fly, partying, dancing, music, fashion, roller coasters

Dislikes: Speed limits, machines with too many buttons, being alone in public places

Strengths: Coordination, sense of distance and balance, and perception

Weaknesses: Speaking publicly, her sister, lying

Nationality:[b] Israeli

[b]Skills/Combat Rating:

Pain Endurance: [Very Poor] – Anemone hates being in pain, which is why she has such a small number of scars. Her battle strategy relies on being able to dodge hits.
Obedience: [Below Average] – She has the tendency to question and sometimes ignore orders from higher-ups.
Charisma: [Above average] – Even if she’s not the best at giving pep talks, her confidence can rub off on others quite easily.
Coordination: [Perfect] – Whether it’s from dancing or driving so much, Anemone’s control of her body is pretty amazing.
Reaction time: [Excellent] – Another necessity when it comes to driving, especially as crazily as Anemone does.
Technical Intelligence: [Poor] – She prefers vehicles with simpler controls, preferably just a steering wheel, a pedal, brakes, and a gear shift if absolutely necessary.
Hand-to-hand Combat: [Good] – Her coordination helps her avoid most hits and her strategy is fair enough.
Running: [Average] – Her endurance isn’t great, so her running is mostly limited to short sprints.

Personality: The first impression Anemone usually leaves is that of a brash, impulsive young lady with too much adrenaline running through her body for her own good. Armed with a strong set of morals and unwavering stubbornness, she follows her heart before the law and will never leave a teammate – or anyone - behind. She insists that most orders are just suggestions and the final word should be left to the executer. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have an amazing ability to predict multiple outcomes of a situation and always assumes that she’ll be successful. She relies mainly on her intuition to solve problems instead of stable logic or evidence.

Although Anemone is very observant of physical details around her, she often forgets the details of instructions that authorities give her. She prefers seeing things as a big picture and often asks people to summarize long speeches to her. Her short attention span and laziness lead to her persistent habit of leaving projects unfinished or finishing them late. She also has multiple talents, though they’re usually so underdeveloped that they can only be considered “hobbies.” She dabbles in multiple sports and arts, though dance is the only one she really pursues and works hard at. She loves music and does almost everything in rhythm, claiming that it helps her timing.

Like her sister, Anemone has some flirty and playful tendencies as well, but her flirtation is mostly composed of physical contact, not verbal. Because she grew up with such a flirty sister, she has some difficulty noticing if someone is actually romantically interested in someone else, especially if someone is interested in herself. Her extraverted personality is mostly attributed to the fact she loves being the center of attention. She usually becomes more energetic when there are people around her, especially when they admire her, which is why she loves being on stage so much. She’s also very interested in other people’s life stories.

{(Note: Pretend this happened before Esana's post.)}

Anemone, of course, wasn’t paying the slightest bit of attention to the guy that was lecturing them. What was he – commander? Major? Either way, he was probably just giving the generic speech about how their mission would be extremely dangerous and such - the typical speech made to scare the agents so that they’d obey the authorities’ every order. She’d heard it a million times, and did it ever help her? Not really. In fact, she was pretty sure she performed better when she wasn’t bored to death on the first day. She wasn’t quite bored, however as her mind was on a much larger interest that she just couldn’t seem to tear her mind off of.

Damn. How the hell is he so hot?

Okay, okay, so she really shouldn’t be focusing on such a thing on the first day, but seriously. The muscles, the eyes, the hair. If she made half the impression on him as he made on her, she would be set. She looked down at her own outfit, which composed of a tight, off-the-shoulder red mini-dress with an asymmetrical hem that reached about a third of the way down her thigh at the highest point and two thirds at the lowest point, thigh-high boots with three-inch platform heels, and a sports jacket with red stripes. Even though the jacket kind of ruined her elegant outfit, she figured it was necessary for the cold weather. She straightened herself slightly and put her weight on one leg, a small, confident smirk appearing on her face as the lecturer left the room.

Oh my god, he’s talking. His voice is so...

Of course, Anemone didn’t listen to his actual instruction, just his voice. Apparently, he was their team leader or something. It took her a much longer time than normal to register the fact that something was being thrown at her, but that only meant that she noticed the parachute halfway through its flight. Moments later, four people had already jumped off.

“Well, sis, I’ll see you when we get down there.” She hugged Sari and equipped her parachute, taking a perfect dolphin dive into the air below. The initial acceleration made her adrenaline rush and she took a moment to spread her arms out and enjoy the feeling of wind, letting her parachute out dangerously late. Once her parachute was safely opened, Anemone closed her eyes and enjoyed the float down, despite the heavy wind blowing against her.

As she landed, she stumbled a bit, catching herself before falling down and embarrassing herself. Readjusting her dress and jacket, she walked towards the leader with the most model-like gait possible in the snow. “Whoo! That was fun, can we try it again?” She smiled cheerfully at the leader, a slight spark of challenge in her eyes.

Anemone turned back to watch her sister land, patting her on the head lightly when she rested her head on her shoulder. She then directed her attention towards everyone else, taking the liberty to chuckle a bit at the less refined landings.

”Yes, we’ll have plenty of those chances. Shoot, a few of them might be without parachutes.” For a moment, Anemone completely forgot about her interested towards their team leader. After all, she prioritized most things based on the potential fun they could bring, and jumping out of the sky was definitely more fun than just another hot guy. Her smile widened into a full-out grin, “Wonderful. I’ll look forward to it.”

”But without ta shivering cold, heh.”

Anemone blinked at the other man who spoke, one who didn’t look nearly as comfortable with jumping in the first place. She made a quick mental assessment of him – he wasn’t quite bad-looking, she supposed. Didn’t look particularly tough, though. “Ah, but the snow is so pretty, isn’t it?” Anemone bent down to gather a handful of snow, shaping it into a ball and tossing it up and down twice before tossing it lightly in a direction where there weren’t any people. She didn’t want to risk using her full strength, since it was easier to pull muscles in cold weather.

With that, she looked away, frowning disapprovingly as she saw the leader trim his hair out of the corner of her eyes. How reckless – cutting his hair without looking at the mirror to see if it looked okay!

She felt a slight urge to roll around on the snow to vent her frustration, but decided that it wouldn’t be the best choice. Instead, she attached herself to her sister, whispering, “Did you see that?” She made a face, “He cut it! Without even looking at the mirror! Really, if he weren’t so effing
” She decided to end her whisper-rant prematurely, however, as she saw one of the women with them threaten an old man who had recently arrived with a knife. From there, she simply followed everyone else, ignoring the old man’s speech. She looked at the collection of weapons, frowning slightly; she never did like guns. Too complicated. Well, at least they were the ones with these guns and not the enemies.

“At ease. I wanted to see the squad we were sending in with my own eyes.” Anemone had no idea that they were supposed to be standing so rigidly in the first place. Her posture was somewhat similar to the one she had before, with all of her weight on one foot and a hand on her hip. She matched the general’s gaze when his eyes rested on her, one eyebrow arched slightly.

”So this is the group. I guess it’ll do.” That comment definitely attracted Anemone’s attention. She turned her head to see a blond woman with way too much bust for her own good. How did people move with all of that extra weight, anyways? She was about to reply, but the two men she had spoken to before had already done so, so she decided against it.

Lillian. Well, she had a pretty name, at least. Though considering that she was a hacker, Anemone had no idea what she was doing in armor. If she were stuck to the computer all day, she would at least look good being there.

“My name is Dante Raize.” Anemone’s eyebrows shot upwards, and she did her best to suppress a chuckle. She had worked with someone named Dante before – he was a spy for the Japanese government. He was also one of the most amazingly ditzy agents she had ever met. Experienced, but ditzy. Now she’d end up thinking about him every time she looked at Dante, hotness or not.

Anemone directed her attention to the others as they introduced themselves. Ava, Kai, Alberto, and Zeren. Wonderful. They all had relatively memorable names. At that, she stepped forward herself, “Anemone Breuer, your driver,” she said, accompanying the bounce in her voice with a two-fingered salute and a wink, “But you guys can call me Monmon if you want~ I respond to that faster, anyways.” She directed her attention towards everyone in the room, making sure not to make eye contact with one person – namely, Dante – for longer than the rest. She might have even spent a little less time on Dante. Oh well. Still, she couldn’t help but smile at his name once again as she stepped back.

Sari watched, semi-interested as the leader person started to explain, then stopped as he looked down at the ice queen and saw that she had uncovered a letter - S - carved in blue. S, Sari thought absently. For me. She smiled at the narcissistic thought, then glanced over her shoulder at the sound of a very intriguing accent.

A smile spread across Sari’s face. Her little cutie had come down – and it seemed that he was very happy with the fact that he was still alive. It made him even cuter, and it was nice to have a guy around who wasn’t all about bravery and courage – weaknesses were good. They always provided a conversation starter, and they made for excellent entertainment. Teasing was never off the table.

Before Sari could respond, the ice queen said something. Sari looked at her with a raised eyebrow and then grinned. Ooo ~ competition? How fun ~ She waited a moment, then directed her grin at the man, who seemed mildly windblown and red-cheeked. “Aw, I’m so proud of you.” She widened her smile and tilted her head, a bit flirtatious. “Maybe next –”

The ground started to shake.

“Oh – dear,” Sari said, in a voice much too light for the situation as she slid her feet further apart to steady herself. Her attention flickered away from the cutie, and she fixed her attention on the leader guy, who had just lifted the steel up. Everything trembled as the earth began to fall away, something that almost unnerved Sari at first, but the feeling quickly passed as she saw the very consistent shape that disappeared down – a neat spiral, a bit tight, but unmistakably, a spiral.

How fancy.

She watched, bemused, as the leader guy trimmed the bangs of his hair, and listened, amused to her sister’s reaction to it. “I’m sorry, Monmon. Just remember that he is hot, and try not to massacre him?” Sari gave her sister a light kiss on the cheek, and then turned her head to glance at the sight that had made Anemone stop short in the middle of a sentence.

Ice queen had almost stabbed someone – an old man, who identified himself as Dr. Helix, the creator of CHIPS.

So she really does have issues. How boring. The ice queen quickly slid from Sari’s mind as she walked down the stairs behind her sister. At the bottom was a large vault door. Sari watched as Dr. Helix walked on to a scanner station, his whole body glowing faintly before the vault doors opened.

On the other side, flanked by two other men, was a large soldier, who, Sari assumed by the badges that he had on his uniform, was probably pretty high up. Of course, none of that really mattered to her until he began to talk.

Oh, hot voice. Hot voice, hot voice, hot voice. She blinked up at him as he inspected them – and eventually her – and then walked out. Glancing at him, she restrained the urge to call ‘marry me’ to him and turned her attention back to the room at large.

Aside from the soldiers, there was one other person in the room, who now got up and came over to examine them. Sari’s eyebrows raised immediately. She was beautiful, and judging by her words, a bit acidic too. Lovely combination, Sari thought, and then, Lilian. Hacker. She smiled. I’m going to have fun with you, Lilian.

She lingered a moment on the hot hacker and then turned her attention to the leader guy – Dante Raize. Her mouth twitched, and she glanced at Anemone. The name ‘Dante’ held a special ring for both of them. She glanced by at the current Dante and tried to imagine him with an innocent air and wide eyes.

Oh dear Lord
Sari had to take a moment to pull her own cheeks to stop the laughter before she could concentrate on the next introduction

It was the ice queen – Ava. Boring person. Boring name. Not surprising

Then, the blonde. Kai Crosshaw. And a pretty accent. Fun ~

And then, her cutie. Her eyes widened in delight as she realized that he was French – something confirmed both by the accent and by his words. Alberto Leroy
Sari felt her mouth stretching in a smile, and her mind began to run in circles so fast that she almost missed Zeren’s name. Almost, but not quite. She never missed interesting names.

Sari smiled at Anemone’s introduction and then stepped up herself and gave a mocking bow to the whole group. “Nice to meet you. You all have – lovely names,” She said, keeping a semi-smile on her lips as her eyes flickered from person to person, lingering briefly on Dante – Oh dear Lord, this is going to make me laugh everytime
 – and Alberto. “I am Sari Breuer. Tracker.” She let her smile spread for a moment, then bowed her head again and stepped back into line, slipping an arm around her sister’s waist and lowering her head onto her shoulder.

Anemone smiled slightly at Lillian’s snarky comments. The girl obviously never worked with anyone that majorly lacked any sort of temper control. Anemone looked over at her sister, who had a familiar glint in her eyes. She watched as the doctor injected Dante with the fluid, making a mental notes about the scars on his arm and hoping that the syringe wouldn’t leave such a mark on her arm. Anemone did not like being scarred. The burn scar on her right arm left her rolling around on her bed for a week or so, overwhelmed by severe depression. She planned on making it into a part of a tattoo or something later.

She winced slightly as the syringe was stuck into her arm and held her breath until it was over. Afterwards, she looked up to see Dante and Ava changing into armor, frowning slightly as she assessed her own clothing.

Somehow, she’d have to get the armor over her dress and, preferably, look good doing it.

Oh well, just another challenge for her greatness. Anemone jumped slightly as her thoughts were interrupted by Lillian’s speech. Great, now the boring rants were in her head, too. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes – even if she wasn’t attentive, she liked to be respectful – and looked back at the chamber where Dante and Ava were waiting to be transmitted to the digital world.

She blinked slightly as she watched them dissipate, wondering if the procedure was painful. After that, she decided to delay a bit on volunteering so that she could figure out how to armor herself up properly. Really. She was a driver. Did she even need armor?

When it was finally her turn, she rid herself of her jacket, which figured that she wouldn’t miss too much because she had tons of the same type and color, and stepped into the chamber, trying her best to ignore her claustrophobia. Once she suited herself in armor that would match her sister’s and grabbed a gun with tranquilizer darts, she gingerly touched the orb.

I must look like a moron

She closed her eyes as she went through the dissipation process, enjoying the feeling of being as light as air. It was, surprisingly, not painful, just a bit strange. She didn’t have too much time to enjoy it, however, as she soon lost consciousness.

Anemone woke slowly, closing her eyes right after she opened them. She had always been slow to get up in the mornings. Instead of sitting up and looking for her comrades, she decided to roll over onto her stomach, yawning and trying to think herself back to sleep.

It took her a moment to remember all that had happened just a few minutes – or has it been longer? – ago. She must look terrible. Oh well, she didn’t actually care. She was probably going to break her perfect image eventually, anyways. She took a deep breath, reflecting on the day’s events. What were the chances Dante would be interested in her, too? At the thought of his name, Anemone couldn’t help but smile again.

“ – right behind me.” Oh, was that Sari? Well, she should probably indicate that she was there somehow. She opened her eye a crack and waved one arm around, realizing that the grass changed color when she touched it.

“I’m over here. Just
give me a few more minutes
” She trailed off, closing her eyes again and trying to return to that warm state of unconsciousness she was in just a few moments before. "I love you, Sari~"

Anemone opened one eye as she felt herself being poked by something that definitely wasn’t human. Okay, so the person holding whatever it was could probably be human, but the thing that was making contact with her would probably leave some sort of stain on her clothes.

Oh, wait. Armor. Okay, she didn’t really care anymore. Anemone yawned, about to roll over again, when she felt herself being picked up in someone’s arms and then dumped unceremoniously on the ground once again. Well, that was definitely enough to keep her from going back to sleep again. She swore she could have heard something growl, but it was probably just an innocent animal being territorial. If it thought she was dead, then there wouldn’t be a problem, right? It was unfortunate that her teammates didn’t share the same opinion. They were really making a commotion, something sounded like gunshots.

”Unless ye wan’ me ta throw a bucket o’ water on yer face.” At that, Anemone decided it was a good time to get up. She hadn't actually fallen asleep, after all - she couldn't possibly fall asleep so quickly on the ground. She shot up into a sitting position, driving her head straight into that of the man hovering above her.

“Oww,” she moaned and rubbed her head, blinking her eyes drearily and trying to recognize the person near her. “Oh, Kai. Sorry, dear.” She patted him on the head before leaning over and looking past him to see the poor creature being assaulted by all of her teammates. “Aww, it’s cute. Poor dear. Don’t you guys have a tranquilizing dart or something? I mean, considering all of those stupid weapons back there
”

Anemone silently hoped that Dr. Helix and Lillian heard that.

“Oh, well, all that aside, thanks for guarding me with your life~” Anemone said cheerily and reached over to give Kai a hug, resting her head on his shoulders for a second. Once she was done, she stood up and looked over at the cat. “Now, now, what shall we do?” She looked around, spotting the gun she had picked up. “Oh, snap. I guess they did have tranquilizer darts. I happened to grab some, too. Silly me.” She observed the weapon for a moment, “Kai dear, do you happen to be any better at shooting than me?” She smiled, not waiting for an answer, “Well, here goes nothing.”

With that, she aimed at the creature, closed one eye, and shot.
