a character in “Cacodemon: Rebirth”, as played by Vio-Lance

Description

Name: Zhong'Wei Mhenwute

Nicknames/Aliases: Zhong'Wei, or just Zhong. Back in his homeland, he was known as Shore's Wind.

Gender: Male

Age: Looks to be fairly young. Is turning 31 very soon.

Appearance:
Zhong is very out-of-place looking, simply because he is a forginer. He comes from distant lands, and his appearance shows it. For one, his skin bears a very light tone. He's not vampirically pallid, or anything, but he definitely does not look like he gets very much sun. He stands very straight, even though his slightly diminutive height of 5'9 makes him seem much less a threat. His head is covered in quite lush, healthy looking black hair, flowing down with slight curl to his upper-back, or more commonly seen in front of his body, clinging to his chest. It's kept in a simple ponytail with a rather tattered looking red ribbon... odd for a man. His calm, narrow brown eyes hide behind a pair of brass spectacles, lightly bent at the nose. His facial features are sharp and slightly bold with his jawline being pointed being a particularly main feature. His complexion is clean and well kept; healthy. A kind smile is often planted on his thin lips.

The foreign man's body is very slim, and very tender looking from an outside eye. But the traditional, loose clothing he wears hides his body well, though it is no secret. His body is quite well toned and even muscular. Though it is not through size that it is muscular. His body is evenly strengthened. Keeping a lean, lethe look, while his frame remains small, and surprisingly strong. His upper and lower body are conditioned the same, giving him overwhelming sense of 'body strength', which, with his immaculate body control, allows him to do some fairly outstanding feats for someone his size. He weighs close to 155 pounds. Zhong wears very traditional appearal brought from his home-country. He embraces their culture, and happily wears the bright colors of green. This green is his unique jacket, which looks like a light combination of someone putting an apron and a tunic together. Underneath this, he bears a medium chain mail shirt. His waist and lower body are covered by light, slightly baggy trousers. This allows his body to move fully, while the garment still covers him. It's obviously made not to hinder flexibility. He also bears two sashes around his slim waist. One is light purple, and is made out of light cloth. The other is a much darker, yet pinker purple, and it is very long. It's 'tail' dangles to Zhong's lower shins, ending in a belled knot. To keep the long addition in place, a brass buckle with obsidian detailing. His boots are comfortable, and made out of a lighter leather, with cotton on the inside.

Watching Zhong move in itself is very interesting. His moves are very fluid, very smooth and disciplined. It is clear that his body is very well trained. He always seems to be standing upright with correct posture, his arms across his chest, at his sides, or even crossed behind his back. He is very polite, and obviously nods his head in respect to even the people passing by him. his body language displays a calm respect for most everyone around.

Personality

Personality:
Zhong is one of the very few people that are hard to read at first glance. At first, one would make suspect that he was noble; regal. This assumptions are wrong, as he is not. He is just from different plains than the ones known. He is very civil, and very kind. But that doesn't mean he is royalty. He isn't even up upper-middle class, really. But money or status does little to change his views of people. In fact, he ignore people's social statuses completely. King vs Knight, Prince vs Peasant... it's very simple for him, having very high respect for most people in general. The only people he truly looks down on are the folks that find themselves looking down on others, or the ones that try and harm others. The prude, he tells himself that their wisdom will come, and the violent he says that they are unguided. He tries to redirect both types before 'correcting' them.

Socially, Zhong is very modest. He keeps to being polite, trying not to ruffle any feathers unnecessarily. His attitude is calm and respectful at all times... Generosity is also common. However, what someone would not expect from someone like him is that he enjoys social humor. Jokes, puns and even sometimes innuendo is enjoyed, and it's not hard to render the man into a fit of chuckles. While he's not much of a funny-man himself, he does try. And it usually doesn't work, mostly to the fact that he doesn't know about much of the culture here. There is only so much that books can tell you; jokes are not one of them. He is quite adept at giving and advice and wisdom, spoken from the heart.

In combat, the man is stalwart and steady minded. His fight is honorable, never harming an innocent, or even an unarmed man. But just because he fights with honor doesn't mean he is completely focused on some kind of honor code. When he fights, he fights to win. No mercy. No defeat. Of course... this too seems to have a prephase. Before Zhong will mortally wound you, he tries to dissuade his attackers from drastically decreasing the lengths of their lives by fighting him. He will usually fight defensively, parrying and blocking until he sees an opportunity to go in for a mild attack. Usually, using his martial arts skills, he'll trip or stumble the person, and attempt to neutralize their will to fight. He'll do this a few times, before truly fighting them. He views murder and killing widely unnecessary on most parts. 'A waste of life' he dubs it. But if he does decide fatality will incur, he will not hold one ounce back.

Romantically, Zhong is mostly interested in women, but his open mindedness keeps him open to homosexual relationships as well. He does not find a lot of men attractive, and only through attitude would he be considered in a same-sex relationship.

Within religion, Zhong is not a very strong pursuer. He doesn't much care for religion, as it causes too many scuffles and arguments. It does little good to spill blood for a man in the sky. Or so this man thinks. He clings to a mixed religion of Christianity and Hinduism. He believes that their is a heaven and there is a hell, but they are for separate things. Heaven is sanctuary for the most divine, honorable people that have lived their lives fully, and are satisfied in their soul. Hell is for the opposite; the wretched and damned. While going to heaven is a choice, going to hell is not, and thusly, God sends them there. If the person has lived, but continues to want to live, they will be reincarnated as a new person, a babe - no memories of their past lives, nor experiences. Only their soul will be put into a new vessel. But again, Zhong is not very persistent on his religion. He will avoid discussing it in general, unless someone is curious. He completely refuses to argue if it is 'right' or 'wrong'.

Equipment

Equipment:
When traveling from his homeland, he brought many things. Many essentials... clothing, brass cookware, tools, books, and lots of personal valuables. He was able to travel here, and make his new life here...while it was short. He has spent only a few years in Wen-Terra. He has long since settled down in a small, cozy abode. Of course, now his time of placid stationary abode has ended, as he heard of magic. He now travels, carrying a few changes of clothing, plenty of herbs and spices for cooking, plenty of tea, a set of small tin (a pot, a pan, and a kettle), a few wooden cups and bowls, a flint and tender, an extra pair of glasses, a letter-opener, and a scroll-case, filled with a few maps of the areas he's been to. He also carries a rather moderate supply of finance with him. A bedroll is also fairly common.

In terms of weaponry, Zhong is most commonly seen with two. His first is his Jian, which he wield with extreme expertise. The weapon is made out of high grade steel, with a thick, durable blade honed down to an edge. In hand with his martial arts training, this weapon's edge is extremely deadly with slashing and jabbing attacks. Although it truly excels at parrying other weapons, particularly other swords. The flat edge yet firm blade makes this an applicable paddle-like weapon, used for slapping wrists or thighs with rather...unpleasant stinging effect. It's overall length is 33 inches from tip to hilt. The hilt itself is metal, wrapped in leather and delicate cotton, to absorb hand-sweat and maintain maximum grip. The pommel has a tin garnishment of a snake. The metal of the blade is silvered, and always seemingly has sheen, no matter how dirty. It's flatside is decorated with ebony colored metal and bronze detailing. And again, with martial arts training along with private training, Zhong's use of this weapon is beyond lethal. One particular benefit of these trainings is the fact that hey have heightened his reflexes.

The other weapon is much simpler, and less intricate. A longbow hand-crafted from yew wood. Zhong made the bow himself back in his homeland, for his sailing days. The bow is thick, unusually and has a broad face. And...a curved hand-guard. There are a few unknown characters carved into the spine of the bow, but this probably only mean something to Zhong. It is about four feet in length, so it's not really a 'longbow' anymore, but Zhong doesn't care for the details of archery. He carries 25 bronze-tipped arrows. While he is no amazing shot, he is a decent marksman out to 60 feet.

Magic was not new to him, really. His homeland had sages... but it was uncommon. Not everyone could harness magic...but he decided not to question it. But he was deeply curious now. He wondered what struck magic discoveries. He remember himself finding his own magic through teachings of a traveling master. He himself had no superior grasp of skill on magic, but he was skilled enough to be considered above an adept. His magics were wind magics. He could control magics of gusts and bursts of winds. He practiced frequently in his free time, with a feather. He would see how long he could keep it afloat with gusts of winds....before he would move onto heavier objects with much more terminal velocity.

As per GM:
Zhong greatly embodies the spirit of Sun Tzu. Sun Tzu was the famous Chinese author wrote the Art of War. Philosophy that has been in use in war even in the modern era. He was a philosophical war leader who ever saw a battlefield. In one legend he had two of the king’s favorite soldiers executed because they intentionally neglected orders. He did this to ensure the discipline of the other soldiers. Not only did he address military strategy, but he addressed politics and logistics.Sun Tzu’s philosophical attitude manifests as the Breeze Wind element. The Breeze Wind element is the subtle movements of the wind. It has utterly precise control over it’s power however. With adequate training, this can be used to hover or fly. It can’t affect projectiles in air, but it can be used during battle to manage range between the fighters. This is a very flexible power that while it cannot damage an enemy directly, it can be used effectively out for battle and strategically in battle.

As a last note, Zhong's body is highly trained in martial arts. His body is completely balanced with his mind. This in turn makes him quite the adversary, without a weapon. It also did well to intensify his reaction-time and reflexes... along with speed, strength, and no doubt stamina.

History

Zhong'Wei comes from a foreign land across the ocean, many do not know of. And those that do know of the far off land, do not pay it much mind. The name of the lands are The Tidal Isles, noted for their high ocean currents, and frequent storms. These isles highly resemble the way of China. Inhabitants are very noble, and influenced by many things, mostly honor. They have no king, but they have an emperor, if he could be called such. Simply gifted with wealth and bloodline power, this man is the ruler of the Isles. Of course, he is completely reasonable, and very tolerant. He is even seen by the people as humble and kind. The Isles are rich in resources like wood and food, but lack lots of mineral resources. The most notable of which is iron and truly durable metals. they heavily rely on bronze and brass, which makes their weapons and armor not as strong as steel or iron counterparts. Steel or iron weapons and armor are a true sign of wealth.

Zhong's early childhood is of no great renown. He has no glorious upbringing, no ancient warrior father, no noble mother... He was a common boy of the Isles. His father was a Martial Arts instructor. His mother was a typical housewife and a gardener. Zhong had excellent moral upbringings, and was always taught to be respectful and courteous to everyone. Martial Arts was used as a reward, as like many boys...he just liked the idea of being able to fight. He had two brothers, and one sister, and grew up in a semi-prosperous family. Being a middle child, he was treated fairly, and despised youth nor age. He was always noted for his open-mindedness.

Out of his father's sons, however, he grew to be the most proficient in the martial art that his father taught. He would even pursue a career in teaching this art to others. While still young, almost out of his teens, he would make his name known as his father's assistant, with his own unique way of teaching and showing, while still keeping the proper technique. His discipline and dedication to the martial art was grand, to say the least. he would continue teaching the art until he was in his early twenties.

However, due to local piracy from an unknown country, the Tidal Isles would raise a small militant force; a remote army and navy to deal with threats. It wasn't long before Zhong and his fathers were passing their art to hundreds. While both forces numbered low, they received higher training because of it, which earned the stereotype of these foreign fighter's close quarters combat expertise. Zhong himself would join the Navy, and continue teaching the soldiers, and even combat pirates himself. It is through his work with his Jian and longbow that earned him the name "Island Wind". In his home village, he was known by everyone, and even amongst the Isles themselves, his family name was mildly spoken. Into the beginning of his late twenties, he would retire from his naval position, and begin to learn about magical influences from the east. Magic was not unheard of in the Isles, but it was not well spoken of. It was a unique ability that not everyone had, and few of good heart used it. Zhong himself dipped into magical arts from the help of a lesser experienced friend, and even a rather shady fellow, whom he couldn't deny the results of.

Finally, he decided to travel east and find out what he could about the magics there. Parting from his large family, Zhong would sail on a naval ship to the West. Wen-Terra's Kingdom was the most prominent...and had most appeal to him. As he arrived, he viewed a new land with new customs and way of thinking. He thought it wonderful; a display of land and region altering the actions and intelligence of people around the world. Zhong received no real schooling himself, but was taught much by his parents and siblings. Finally, he would settle down in a small house on the outside of a small town. To fund himself, he sold home-grown herbs and spices, as well as offered martial arts training (though this new land thought very little of it.). He lived happily studying magic and this land's background. It's history, it's agriculture, it's people. Until he was thirty, his life was somewhat of a scholar.

As the magic guilds popped up, and 'monsters' became more and more of a problem ,Zhong realized that it was time for him to become mobile. He would allow his close friends he'd developed permission to his house and unnecessary belongings as he gathered his travel-pack and supplies, and headed for the nearest Mage-Guilds....

So begins...
