D E C O R U S

h e i g h t x // x5' 6"

w e i g h t x // x137 lbs

h a i r x // xmidback length, dark chestnut waves. Typically just air dried and loose.

e y e s x // xdark brown

o d d i t i e s x // xterribly calloused palms, various scars - all minor.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xCherise, if she had to describe herself, would say she is classically beautiful with nasty calloused man-hands. There's nothing to really see there but some girl that grew up in California that did a lot of pointless things in life. However, when other people describe her, they talk about her smile, of which is wide and lights up a room. Her prettiest features are actually her eyes and teeth, both seeming to shine brilliantly when her soft coral lips break out into one of her endearing smiles. It's because she is always smiling that she is relatively easy on the eyes.

She loves to dress up, but keep it casual and playful at the same time. A little brightness never hurt anyone! Or a lot, in her case. Dark hues don't suit her much and kind of drown out her skin tone, and they don't fit her mood. She keeps her hair long and loose, allowing the air to dry it and for her waves to take their place. Overall, she prefers frilly dresses and adorable little outfits that make her happy to look at herself. She is womanly and soft with hints of musculature in her legs and arms reminiscent of hard labor and athleticism. She is not Ares child fit, but she definitely holds her physical self to high standards.

P E R S O N A L I T A T E
xxxxxxxxxx outgoing xx spirited xx friendly xx protective x

She is impossibly kind, and maybe even to the point of cloyingly so. There's nothing about life that she simply doesn't love, and she loves living it-- living it with others, too. She is always surrounded by people, whether they are friends or if she just started some random conversation somewhere with someone. She has a genuine desire to be liked by others, and to help others that can't always help themselves. Thus, her nurturing soul; maternal and warm to those in need, she is a caregiver of sorts in some instances. She has wonderful bedside manners in terms of healing, and utterly devoted to her friends regardless of what may transpire between them. She's hard to displease, but it is not impossible.

It isn't that other people can hurt her, it's simply that she draws up this entire daydream only for most of it to fall to pieces at her feet. She's so friendly that when others are not the same, it can be kind of disheartening. However, she tries not to get too upset by it. She can begin to feel jealous, though, and that is her biggest and heaviest negative emotion. Jealousy can sometimes drive her kindness if she is not careful, and it can also make her more sweet than usually - overly so, scarily so. It can be downright creepy and stalker-like. If jealousy is borne of material things, she will seek ways to obtain it. If it is borne of self-reflection, she will find a way to change it. If it is a man, she might stalk him. A friend, she might try to get in their way hoping that they will eventually befriend her. While this is all a rarity, when the green-eyed monster strikes, the outcome is always unfavorable.

Her protective nature stems from having to deal with her step-father, of whom was an abusive figure in her life. Cherise has always been scared of him, but she was forced to stand up to him often. She feels the same way when she is defending other: brave on the outside but trembling on the inside. Maybe it makes her stupid, she doesn't know. She believes that she has a duty to those that couldn't stand up for themselves; someone that she needed when she was younger and more vulnerable. She sees herself in others, and the urge to change it just takes over the fear of confrontation. Until she is alone - then she can worry about the latter.

Did Wes get a single moment of rest that night? No, no he didn't. For half of the night he didn't even move from the place he sat when Trinity left. For at least an hour he simply sat there and stared at the wall. Eventually he decided to turn on some music. But it always seemed the songs that make you feel worst were the ones that come on, no matter how many times he skipped them. When the sun finally started to pour into the windows of his cabin, Wes decided to finally get up. He was exhausted but he couldn't handle being alone with his thoughts anymore.

So, he forced himself into a shower. Wes was so lost in his own mind that he nearly stepped under the water with his new mechanical arm still on. He didn't get the chance to ask Duke if it was waterproof or not. But by the looks of the inner workings of his terminator appendage, he'd bet it wasn't. He untied the straps and placed the arm on his bed so there was no chance of water getting on it, then stepped into the shower. The hot water was almost therapeutic and helped him to think straighter, a little at least. And that's when he realized he was so caught up in his own issues yesterday, he didn't even see Alex after the trial.

That revelation snapped Wes out of whatever funk he was in. He quickly finished washing, hopping out of the shower so fast he nearly slipped on the wet floor. Whatever extra time he gave himself by showering quickly he lost when he tried to put his arm back on. That was going to take some practice. But he'd eventually get the hang of it... Maybe. Wes then grabbed the first clean outfit he could find, rushing out of his cabin as he pulled his shirt on over his head. He wasn't much of a runner, so instead he just took long strides as he beelined for the main hall.

Wes weaved his way through the tables, not paying much attention to everyone else who might have been in there. He quickly grabbed a fresh coffee to go and a couple doughnuts. Then he left as quickly as he entered. He hurried back to the woods, heading toward the Valis cabin. Wes didn't bother knocking, instead let himself in quietly, and made his way up to Alex's room. When he reached her room he gently knocked before he opened the door. "Peace offering from a shitty best friend?" he asked as he made his way over to her bed, setting the coffee and doughnuts down on her nightstand.

"I'm sorry I disappeared after the trial. I thought you might have wanted family time... I was kinda lost in my own world." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Trinity and I had a fight. Somehow, someone got it into her head that I invited another girl back to my cabin. So, turns out she doesn't trust me... and I told her I love her." Wes let out a weak laugh as he shrugged his shoulders. There it was in a nutshell. He never kept anything from Alex and he wasn't going to bombard her with all of that yesterday leading up to her trial. But now that she was safe and things could start getting back to normal, he told her.

"So, yesterday was shit. We can agree on that. But!" Wes flopped onto the bed next to Alex. He put his hat on Alex's head and flicked the bill before he propped his head up in his left hand. "I've decided that it is mandatory we have fun today. You have to laugh at least 5 times. No tears unless they are from laughter or joy. And I shall redeem myself from being a horrible friend." He smiled toward her, tilting his head to the side slightly. "What do you say?"

Sylas sat for a long while on the floor in Sloane's room after she and Liam departed. It was the first time in years that he'd be caught. He felt like a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. But it was much worse than that. Now someone other than Sloane saw a glimpse of the person he was... The person he really was. He couldn't help but wonder how much her sister shared with the giant mad man. She wasn't dumb. The son of Hades was a formidable ally, but if any of these truths surfaced, he couldn't imagine himself have many friends, if that's what you could call it.

Sometime had passed before he finally pulled himself to his feet. Sylas could feel his muscles already growing sore. Bruises on his neck were already forming from Liam's grasp, while he, no doubt, had a few broken ribs from being thrown against the wall. Sylas was in shock at what had happened... But more than that, he was angry. Angry that his sister could so easily find his insecurities and unsettle him with words. Angry that some dumb brute was so easily manipulated by his sister. But what he was really angry about, was that he lost.

This made things complicated, far more complicated. Now that Sloane had her protector and as far as he was concerned, that was two people out of his grasp. No doubt his sister used her abilities on Liam, knowing full well that would keep him out of Sylas's grasp. A direct approach was no longer valid and his window of time before people believed her over himself was quickly closing. He began to pace around the living room, his hand clutching his ribs as he thought. He lost the battle but not the war and whatever part of it he thought could be won with brawn or Sloane's help was unobtainable.

No doubt someone as dumb as Liam assumed beating him around would make Sylas hide his wounds, keeping the knowledge of his ass kicking secret. But he wasn't the type to cower, even when he knew he was outmatched... But only physically. That's when it struck him. Sylas wasn't going to hide his bruises or cower. Instead he'd do the opposite of what either of them thought. Sylas would be the victim.

By the time he had reached this conclusion sun light was already shining through the cracks of the broken front door. Sylas didn't bother trying to clean up the cabin, instead leaving it. The state of chaos needed to remain. If he was going to go with this story, the more evidence to support him, the more others would be on his side. He went to his room, deciding to change. Sylas had only managed to put on a fresh pair of pants when he heard an unfamiliar voice coming from the entrance. "H-hello?"

Sylas froze with his sweater in hand. He didn't know who had welcomed themselves inside. Was this the doing of his sister or Liam? Had word already spread of what he did? Or was it something else? "I was just - Does someone in here need any help? It's, um, Cherise. Apollo's daughter."

He peeked his head around the door frame, unable to hear what Cherise said to herself as she turned to leave. Sylas grabbed his shirt from his bed and called out to the girl. "Sorry, I was just getting out of the shower." He walked out into the living room as he slid his arms into his sweater. He went to pull it on over his head, making a little extra show of how sore he was, wincing at the movement. There was enough time, a brief moment that the bruises on his ribs would be visible. It was intentional... all of it. He adjusted his collar bashfully, as if he was trying to hide his other bruises.

"Cherise is it?" he asked, clarifying the name she shared earlier. Sylas then extended his right hand toward her, giving a timid smile. "I'm Sylas." Once he had a hold of her hand, he let his powers flow through their touch. He was the victim. Someone attacked him. "I appreciate your concern." The person who did this must be a monster, hurting an innocent man. Sylas was sure to be subtle, quiet thoughts that anyone who stumbled upon this scene might think. He gave her a sheepish smile as he released her hand. "Sorry to have distracted you from your run. I was just about to go get some breakfast... If you wanted to join." He said each word with a hint of nerves, like he was hiding something, like he wanted to divert the conversation and remove them from his cabin before she asked questions. Like a real victim would act.

Andy tossed and turned most of the night. She might have fallen asleep for half an hour or so here and there, but most of the night was filled with her staring at the ceiling while her mind raced. Eventually she got fed up with trying. She should have been thankful, that evening instead of her mind being plagued with nightmares from her time in the Underworld, it was other burdens. The struggles of her fighting with her boyfriend or whatever the hell was going on between herself and Mason. But honestly, she would have preferred the nightmares.

She was used to being up before the other campers, that had been her routine now for nearly a year. Andy finally took off her ridiculous dress that she wore to Olympus and had half a mind to throw it away. It wasn't like her to dress to try and impress anyone. And who was she even impressing anyways? It seemed in the span of a single day she went from everything being relatively ok besides her PTSD and absence of a brother... To now half of the people close to her being pissed off at something she did or didn't do.

Thankfully the mornings were her time to clear her mind, just herself and nature. Andy put on athletic clothes that felt much more at home for her compared to a dress. And that day, she was even more of a mood to zone out the world. So, on her way out, she grabbed her phone, tucking it into the waistband of her pants before putting in her earbuds and blasting music. While others might think her playlist would be something from Rocky or other cliche workout scenes from movies, she always preferred serene classical music or instrumental tunes from her favorite movies. With the mindset she was in, it was the soundtrack from Jane Eyre. And she was off.

It didn't take her long to get into her rhythm. She had run this path so many times she could take it with her eyes closed, able to dodge every branch and jump over every root. And at one point she nearly ran into another brunette girl she wasn't familiar with who had a similar idea to her own. If Andy wasn't on such a war path with clearing her mind, she might have stopped and introduced herself, maybe even asked if the girl would want to jog together the next morning. But she wasn't in the right mindset for that. Maybe tomorrow.

Andy hadn't realized where her feet were carrying her at first. Maybe because it was routine, kind of like when someone goes on autopilot driving home and forgets how they actually got there. Because suddenly she stood there, stopped dead in her tracks before the Valis cabin, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath. Andy's heart sank seeing the familiar place but feeling like a stranger. She looked around almost like a child caught somewhere they shouldn't be before she slowly approached the building. Her feet carried her up the steps and to the front door. Her hand reached out until her fingertips brushed the doorknob... and she froze.

Just go in. But why would her feet not listen? Andy was too damn stubborn for her own good. Stubbornly loyal but even more stubborn when she was pissed off. Her hand finally grabbed the handle and started to turn it when she heard a branch snap in the woods behind. Her head spun around finding Wes approaching with breakfast in hand. Andy's hand fell from the door before she quickly retreated back onto the path. The blissfully ignorant Aphrodite son completely unaware of her presence.

This time, she ran with a purpose and toward a destination. Trinity's cabin wasn't far and it was the one place she'd be safe from judgement or boys. When Andy arrived, she hurried up the steps. She knocked on the door before opening it and peeking her head in. "Knock knock," she said softly when she caught sight of the blonde sitting at the counter. Andy pulled out her earbuds before she entered and closed the door behind her. She took up a seat beside Trinity, resting her arms on the surface in front of her.

Before she could say anything else an announcement rang through the camp. "As soon as you can, head to the staff cabin and vote for the poll that is pinned outside. Movie night and games with drinks and food, or Just a traditional Campfire, music, games, drinks and food."

Andy tapped her hands on the counter. "So, the choices are booze... or popcorn?" she stated more as an observation of the two options. "Is that really a choice?" She was trying to make light of the situation, maybe get some laughs but it felt strained. Neither one of them seemed in the laughing mood. "We could always just stay locked away from the world. Play Mario Kart, eat too much chocolate and cry over boys." She looked over at her friend giving her a weak smile.

Then with a soft sigh, Andy finally turned to face her, placing her hand on Trinity's in a reassuring manner. "Do you want to talk about it?"

Surprisingly, Sloane dozed off at some point but only to be quickly reawoken at the thought of Sylas lurking around outside the cabin. Maybe it was a nightmare. It seemed that since she arrived at camp, everything was turned on its head. Not that she was missing the days of secrecy, her brother using her like his own personal punching bag or her time hidden away from the world, but it was a lot to be thrown at her all at once. So, it really wasn't any surprise that she slept worse than a new born infant.

Once she heard Liam begin to stir around the cabin, she knew she could get up and move around without fear of waking him. Sloane slowly moved to her feet and went to the door, closing it softly for some privacy as she sifted through her bags. She didn't think about what she'd need to wear when she snatched up her duffle in a rush the previous night. Luckily, she hadn't done much unpacking so there was a fair bit still in the bag but it was her more casual clothes that she rarely wore. It'd have to do.

Thankfully she had a shirt with a high enough collar to cover a majority of the bruising on her neck, so Sloane used that to base the rest of her outfit around. Right after she wiggled into her shorts and fastened them, she heard a knock on the door. She grabbed the cardigan she had laid out and quickly pulled it on so that it hid any bruises she had on her arm. Unfortunately, a split lip wasn't so easily hidden by clothing and she didn't have any makeup in her bag. So, with a sigh and a slight adjustment of her clothing she addressed Liam. "Come in."

He was still dressed in the same clothing he wore the day before and somehow managed to look like he got less sleep than she did. Liam was silent as he crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed. Sloane waited patiently for him to say whatever he needed to say, leaning back on his dresser, lightly crossing her arms over her chest. "How are you doing?"

Sloane shrugged her shoulders, her fingers toying with the sleeve of her cardigan. "I'm alive," she said, giving a slight smile.

"Do you have friends to stay with?"

If the situation wasn't so serious she might have laughed at the question. It wasn't like Sloane went out of her way to make friends or get to know anyone. Currently, Liam was the closest thing to a friend. She looked down slightly, trying to find a way to answer his question. She was already imposing, so she wasn't surprised he was wondering where she was going to go or stay. But she didn't have an answer.

Liam filled the silence before she could answer, causing her to look over toward him. "Not that I am kicking you out, Sloane. You can stay until... you want to leave, I suppose. Your choice. But we are going to have to share the bed because that couch is not having me. It's okay if you are a blanket thief, but I draw the line at snoring and drooling."

His offer was nice, but part of her felt he was just saying it to be nice... if you could call it that. Liam had pulled himself into a weave of drama he might not want to have been part of. And now he was stuck unwilingly with the burden of Sloane. She tapped the toe of her shoe on the ground, chewing on her bottom lip. Her guilt had been clawing at her all night. At this point, there was only one secret between the two of them, at least on her side and she couldn't keep it to herself anymore. "Liam... I have to tell you something."

Her hands gripped the edge of the dresser as she tried to find the words. "in Olympus... I used my powers on you." Sloane swallowed, daring a glance up at him. She saw the fury he had yesterday and she'd be lying if she wasn't slightly afraid of igniting it. She quickly continued speaking before he had a chance to argue or yell. "I only warned you about people like my brother at camp and gave you strong enough influence to not be manipulated by people with powers like my own. By someone like Sylas." She felt like a monster. Here this guy nearly murdered her brother for laying a hand on her and what did she do for him? "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I knew that the moment my brother saw you he'd do anything to make you his puppet... That scared me. An Ares son under the influence of... Sylas."

Sloane's hands trembled slightly as she began to shove her dirty clothes into the dufflebag. "It should wear off in a couple hours and I will never do it again without your permission." She pulled the bag onto her shoulder and moved toward the bedroom door. "I'll... figure out somewhere else to go." Her voice trailed off before she made her way to the exit. She'd be lucky if he'd ever want to talk to her again after what she did. Sloane wasn't an idiot and someone like Liam, he wouldn't want her staying under his roof. Not now that he knew what she did.

Once outside his cabin, Sloane froze in the middle of the path trying to figure out which way to go. Her hands clutched the strap of her bag as she sighed softly, the tip of her tongue tracing the scabbed over split in her lip. Where in the hell was she going to go?

Image Evelyn's last tip was to seek help from an older demigod, taking on a more teasing tone when she suggested they could do it together or he could wait for Cherise. He chuckled quietly, looking away modestly before he paid the thought some actual mind. Cherise wasn't here though and he wanted the bandaid off. "I don't want to bring her into all this," he said. "She doesn't know anything about my problems. Aside from my lack of trust in everyone and level of confidence," he admitted. She had happily called him out on that fault last night. Yeah...that was fun. "She's the Daughter of Apollo and I didn't even ask her to heal me, can you believe it?" There was no time to ask for a heal and he didn't think he could manage to ask her for anything regardless.

So the lovely Cherise, as Evelyn said, not himself, was disqualified. Leaving Evelyn and him as detectives. She gave him the whole suspect list, or rather, key witness list making them halfway there. Now he had to casually approach one of the unapproachable.

Then another thought struck. "I believe you have a certain guy you might prefer as company over breakfast, huh? Mr. Scary." He might have been rambling to buy himself some time. Keith wandered off to fetch a piece of fruit for himself and Evelyn and returned. "I did not get friendly vibes from that guy. Sy..Sylas?" It was as if he had the ability to conjure the devil because soon enough, who else should arrive but Sylas. With Cherise.

He shoved the apple in his mouth to hide his jaw hitting the table. Who she kept for company was her business but if Sylas was suddenly the most charismatic guy and biggest lady killer, the camp must have turned upside down. Lady killer was certainly never in the titles for Keith, and Sylas hadn't proven to be evil or anything but the girls could have gone with a more boy next door type guy.

"Good morning, Evelyn, Keith." He jumped a little. Did she come right over to them? Willingly? However, being met by her smile, he couldn't help but mirror the grin. When his eyes dropped slightly, he realized he could observe her stomach and sweat because she was standing there in her....sports bra crop top thing. Nothing was wrong with wearing it, it was decent - it was just workout gear but it was startling to acknowledge her feminine figure. Right there.

Keith opened his mouth to croak out a hi but she had beaten him. "I - uh, need food and... a shower... real clothes that are not these clothes..."

He nodded understandingly then facepalmed. He probably scared the girl by looking at her body then making guilty dog effort not to look at her again. The only way it could have been worse was if he stared. Not that that was much of a margin.

Oh she's back. "Bye," was all she added.

Keith looked up to Cherise and tried to smile, though he was disappointed she didn't want to stay longer. In her short absence, Keith looked between Evelyn and Sylas. No person or circumstance could make him sit and stay with Mr. Intense, who looked a little like hell actually. Beaten up as a matter of fact. "Hey." Yeah, he couldn't do it.

Glancing to Evelyn, he continued, "We'll...we'll get back to that other thing later. Thank you." Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Cherise near the door. He popped a hurried kiss on Evelyn's cheek. She was like his fairy godmother/angel counsellor and it's how Keith...never expressed gratitude before. By then, he was already hurrying to catch Cherise. Crap. He'd have to apologize later.

He grabbed the brunette's waist before she disappeared. "Hey, are we okay? I mean, I'm sorry for not taking in more than your sunshine, I didn't mean to offend you." The conflict didn't seem to reach a conclusion last night. Immediately, he realized he wasn't only touching Cherise uninvited, but touching her bare skin. Keith quickly removed his hand. "Sorry for that too," he said cradling his hand that would burn for that. "Can we...do you wanna sit outside while the sun's out?" He held open the door for her nervously.

Any minute he had to face the sharp "no!" or a swift kick in the jewels for his behaviour. "I do owe you a coffee," he said, somehow still hopeful. Cherise just bought that stupidity out in him he guessed.

Outside wasn't completely vacant of demigods. Under a tree was where Mason resided. Keith bit his lip considering the bandaid. The son of Hades was one of the worst options to talk to, he'd probably only ask his soul in return for answers. No biggie. Sure Keith had a bit of brightness to cancel the darkness but...no. His morning wasn't getting off to an eerie start and he couldn't ask favors of Cherise.

Keith was reluctant to involve Cherise in his turmoil because of the emotional tether to the girl. Using logic and reasoning, the daughter of Apollo was a superb guardian and support through thick and thin situations. Traditionally anyway, but Evelyn didn't have to comment or share her opinion on every thing. Just like she didn't share her opinion on the announcement party poll.

“I believe you have a certain guy you might prefer as company over breakfast, huh? Mr. Scary.” Mr. Scary could be nearly every guy at this camp at one stage or another. Thankfully, Evelyn was gifted in reading hidden context.

In addition to attempting to be suggestive of the relationship or regard Evelyn saw Sylas in, he retorted far too late. “Are you truly resorting to a change of subject?” she said.

Keith left the table momentarily before returning with a couple of apples, dodging the question and bearing gifts. “I did not get friendly vibes from that guy. Sy..Sylas?”

She tilted her head and nodded once, confirming his name. As for breakfast company, it depended on the subjects rather than the people and Keith had a most interesting subject.

Cherise closed to the distance to their table, whereas Keith seemed blissfully ignorant of them approaching. “Good morning, Evelyn, Keith.”

“Good morning, Cherise.” That bright grin wasn't for Evelyn, but she was by no means disheartened or excluded. Instead, her eyes had taken opportunity to study Sylas.

There was some shuffling and muttering about near the table. “I - uh, need food and... a shower... real clothes that are not these clothes...”

“It's fine,” Evelyn tried to assure, but the girl was already away. Or so they thought but she pivoted back around. “Bye.”

Cherise left in an awkward fluster and Evelyn's eyes flickered to Sylas. The shortest visit may be performed by two demigods rather than one since they entered together. Since Sylas didn't look healed yet and to reap the benefits of the daughter of Apollo. But it was Keith who lost his nerve. “We'll...we'll get back to that other thing later. Thank you.” Just as she turned her attention back to him, he leaned across the table and pecked her cheek, startling her. He was welcome but the kiss on the cheek was plenty of thanks.

No matter. “Would you like to sit?” she asked Sylas. Evelyn would personally have loved for him to sit so she could inspect the marks on his neck closer. She would have touched it if he allowed, seeing as Sylas was a master of acts and deceptions. There were so many angles, so many reasons, his neck could be bruised. Being with the likes of Cherise, he had probably already been through the typical questions “what happened, who, why?” Obviously Evelyn wondered these questions herself. Her ability to judge could only take her to an extent.

What was worse was she felt slightly sorry for him. The neck was such a vulnerable spot, somebody literally had Sylas's life in their hands. Finally, she reached out very slowly, like she would approaching a wounded predator. “Let me,” she whispered. She couldn't heal him. She could, however, dull his pain receptors faintly, although Cherise may have already done that. Mainly, Evelyn wanted to see if her hunch was correct all the while witnessing Sylas's reactions. If that was her wrist slammed down on the table so be it.

Nelly kept her words to herself as Mason introduced himself and began talking about different campers. When he mentioned Liv, Nelly spotted her and remembered her from the trial about finding more evidence. Looks like she was a new camper like herself. Liv didn't appear to be a chatterbox, not like her. For one thing she had deliberately sat alone and was reading. Nelly looked back at Mason when he talked about Ajax. He had also mentioned his girlfriend. Was he jealous? She wondered who this girlfriend was. Whelp, she find out soon enough. One thing was obvious though, Mason hated Ajax and his sister. She remembered his testimony. He comment about Ajax screwing around caused Nelly to raise an eyebrow. Wasn't he one to talk? She had gotten a good whiff of Mason when she sat down and he obvious hadn't had a shower yet because she could smell something on him that totally feminine. He'd been with someone. She wonder if she should tell him that, but with Ajax in the vicinity, combine with her loud voice, and her not knowing who he'd been with, yeah things might not go well for Mason. While Nelly was no stranger to trouble, she did try to avoid causing it if possible. She'll just mention it to him when she got the chance.

All thoughts left her mind when he directed her to follow him to Liv's table. She laughed when he mentioned it was time for Liv to babysit her.

"I am a big girl, daddy, but thank you for your concern."

Liv then proceeded to converse with Mason with a very tart reply. Nelly just let her have her say while watching Mason's reaction. The girl could certainly hold her own. Finally the brunette addressed her.

”Well, on that note - welcome to Camp Athens. I like to call it High School, but with a dash of powers, killer demigods, romance problems on steroids, and whatever else you can imagine, but worse than that."

Nelly giggled before replying, "I've never went to HS so this might be interesting. My mother hired tutors for me because we traveled all the time. Still I only got a GED. Never went to college because by then I was making a living off of my pictures. Oh my name is Penelope, but I prefer Nelly. Roles off the tongue easier. Mason told me you're Liv. Do you prefer to be called that? It sounds like a nickname."

Even though her attention was focused on Liv, she made note of those who also showed up. One in particular caught her eye and that guy looked like he went through the gauntlet. Gees, what happened to him? He'd been silent in the trial, but she remembered he had been sitting with the redhead girl. As she waited for Liv to reply, she also saw a blonde conversing with Ajax, but he didn't look like he was enjoying her company.

"I can see what you mean about romance problems on steroids. I only got in last night, but my dad, Hermes, showed me what happened yesterday through a pensive with his memories. Is there anything else I should be aware of because it looks like I got her at tense time?"

That last question was asked in a serious tone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Iliana watched and ate as other campers arrived. She purpose sat in a place where she could see everything. Nothing really caught her attention though until Cherise showed up with one she only saw briefly before, but knew he was on Ethan and Heath's radar. The two had approached a redhead and Keith. Iliana waved back to Cherise when the girl waved to her as she left. Soon Keith wasn't far behind. It wasn't long before that blonde minx showed up. She first went over to the redhead's table and said something. Iliana wished she was closer to she could hear them. Soon the blonde left to get her own breakfast and made a beeline for Ajax. Iliana frowned and would have joined them, but soon the same guy who told her run yesterday, sat down in front of her. She wasn't expecting this at all.
“What's your name again?”
She started writing that down in her notepad, but then he asked her a question she wasn't too surprised with.
“And why don’t you speak?”
She had a feeling that someone here would ask her that one day. She had prepared herself for that too. She already knew she would be as honest as she was able, but not say everything because she didn't know all the answers herself. She wrote down her answers before showing it to the dark hair guy.
~My name is Iliana. What is yours? And I don't know the exact reason why I can't talk because my memory is all foggy and fractured. All I can tell you is that I was hurt . . . by humans last year and it left me traumatized.~
It was then she saw Heath and Ethan enter the hall. The two guys woke up and saw her note. After taking a shower and getting dressed themselves, they headed straight for the hall. Heath frowned when he saw Pete with his sister. Ethan kept his grin on his face though. The two soon got their own breakfast before going over to Iliana and Pete.
"Good morning Lia. Did we miss something this morning?"
Iliana was quick to write down all she heard and saw that morning and showed it to her friend and brother. She also asked one check on Cherise and the other help Ajax. The two nodded and ate.
"Don't worry, Lia, we'll see to it. You take care of yourself then. And you," Heath said turning to Pete,"Next time you tell my sister to run, I suggest you warn us next time. Excuse us now."
With that, the two guys left the hall.
"Ethan, you go help Ajax since you're more familiar with him. I'll check on Cherise. I want to be able to figure out if Sylas had any influence on her and to see what Eve might have said."
"You be careful then. Are you sure you don't me handling that part since Eve and Sylas are able to manipulate people? Since I can influence others myself, they wouldn't be able to affect me."
"That's exactly why I want you with Ajax. You won't be able to get under her influence."
"Righto then. Good luck. Ethan said before returning to the hall.
He approached Ajax and Eve and immediate sat next to Ajax, not even bothering to address Eve.
"Hey, how are you doing? Heath and I woke up a little late, but I thought I heard an announcement. Do you know what is was?"
Heath soon found Cherise, who was with some other guy. He recognized him for he sat with her during the trial.
"Hi there, sorry if I am interrupting. Iliana wanted to see how you were Cherise. She could tell something was troubling you."
"Slow down. First of all.." Alex took a hold of his arm to get his attention and stop his rambling mouth. "Thank you for the breakfast, and I am so happy to see you this morning, but... I... Pete didn't say anything to you, did he?"
Wes's brows furrowed. "Who the hell is Pete?" he replied, confused.
"You're not a shitty friend, Wes, you just have your own problems going on. I won't lie, though, it did hurt that you and Duke left so quickly after the trial, but it's now obvious that you had your reasons. That's the only reason why I'm not angry with you. Duke... well... he will have to explain his side of things... Definitely a wise choice to bring me coffee and doughnuts." She added with a wink and a smile after she took a sip of her coffee.
"I know my girl," he returned the smile, happy to know she wasn't mad at him. Wes didn't know if he could handle Alex and Trinity mad at him at the same time.
After Wes's proposal, Alex pretended to think hard about it, like she had other options to weigh. She then stuffed one of the doughnuts into his mouth and laughed. "Deal. And that's only four more laughs to go already. What do you have planned?"
Wes laughed as he took a bite from the doughnut before taking hold of the rest of it in his hand. "Well, we could get you so drunk at the party later that you want to kiss me," he teased. Then he shrugged his shoulders. "I figured today is your first official day of freedom. The world is your oyster and I'm just along for the ride. All I ask is you don't make me do something that will piss off Trinity more." He laughed, as he put a dot of doughnut icing on her nose.
"Sylas... Nice to meet you, and I was done with it anyway. I was actually going to go get breakfast myself, so I wouldn't mind joining you." He nodded his head and motioned for her to take the lead toward the main hall. Sylas followed after her, down the steps and onto the path that lead to the main hall. "So, um - I don't mean to pry, but who did that to you?" There it was. He could tell she was itching to know the truth and it was only a matter of time before she finally piped up and asked. "Not that you are obligated to answer, of course. It's not like I am the Camp avenger or anything. I'm just wondering who to stay away from."
No one who just had the shit kicked out of them, who was a victim worried of a second offense, would just throw the assailant under the bus. Sylas slid his hands into his pants pockets, taking a long moment before he replied. "Let's just say someone close to me wasn't who I thought they were." He had nothing else to add, not yet. If he wasn't playing a part, his entire approach would be different. But he wasn't.
It wasn't long before they reached the mess hall, which already seemed to be full with several campers. Sylas's gaze instantly found it's way toward his favorite red head and surprisingly, his current company lead them in that very direction. He stood there silent, looking between the awkward love birds and their equally as uncomfortable interactions and Evelyn. First Cherise disappeared, suddenly self conscious of her present appearance. Then it seemed at the prospect of sitting with himself, Keith wanted no part of that.
And then there were two...
“Would you like to sit?”
Sylas nodded his head and slowly walked around the table until he was beside her and took a seat. He could see all the questions on Evelyn's face, but she didn't voice any of them. He couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking, how did she imagine the events that gave him his wounds played out. Part of him wanted to ask, but instead he remained silent.
“Let me,” she whispered as she reached out toward him. Sylas nodded his head slightly and remained still as she did whatever she desired, examining his bruises. As she did so, his gaze scanned the hall. There was no sign of his sister nor the giant meat head.
But there was someone else who wanted his attention instead. “Guess who I saw making a cheeky walk of shame this morning?” Sylas tensed when Eve placed her hand on his shoulder, but he didn't turn to look at her or show that he cared about what she had to say. “Your itsy bitsy little sister.” She then turned to Evelyn, whispering to her like a gossiping school girl. “From that big brute Liam’s house. Guess you can’t account for some people’s taste?”
"Last time I checked, I wasn't my sister's keeper," Sylas replied as he peeled Eve's hand from his shoulder. He watched her walk away and head for yet another victim. He couldn't help but roll his eyes. "How many campers is she trying to sleep with?" he asked, looking over at Evelyn.
“It's more a couch conversation.” Trinity took Andy's hand and lead her over to the couch. She sat down opposite her friend, her one leg was bent with her food on the couch while her other rested on the ground. She rested her arm upon her knee as she waited patiently for Trinity to say whatever she needed to get off her chest.
“Liking a son of Aphrodite is shit,” she laughed. The corner of Andy's mouth tugged into a sympathetic smile, or was it a frown? “He's like a magnet, people are drawn to him, particularly women and I know that. But, um, apparently last night he had a date with that Eve chick.” With the mention of Eve, Andy tensed, sitting more upright. Her mouth tightened while her brows furrowed. She wasn't going to interrupt Trinity, instead keeping the thought on the tip of her tongue as she tapped her index finger.
“I don't think anything ended up happening. He...he dropped the L bomb on me and I couldn't say it back. I'm not like his past model girlfriends! Wes and I are so different. He's a lover, I'm a fighter. And I'm not talking vaguely, I mean literally. I wanted to beat one his groupies to a pulp and kill his beast, and the crazy bastard goes saying ‘I love you’.” Andy laughed weakly, gently brushing Trin's arm. “I'm afraid for him loving me. I don't deserve it.”
"Ok, so first of all," Andy said as she sat upright and pointed at Trinity with her index finger. "You deserve to be loved and happiness... If that's with Wes or someone else." She relaxed back into the couch. "Wes is mad about you. I have never seen him look at anyone the way he looks at you. Hell," she scoffed quietly. "I don't even know if anyone has looked at me that way."
"And this... Eve," Andy said with a sneer. "I don't know what her deal is but I would bet anything that it was a lie. Because what I was told by her and Mason that they are a thing." Her brows raised as she made a motion with her index fingers along with her words. "And I road back from Olympus with Wes. He left immediately and went straight back to his cabin." Andy didn't say anything else. In the end, it was Trinity's decision what to do about all of it. But the way it seemed to her was Eve was playing a dangerous game. She wasn't very happy about the fact that the blonde used her friends as her own toys.
After a small break of silence, Trinity then turned the conversation to Andy. “What about you?” She tapped Andy's knee and smiled slightly. “What's going on with you? Are you okay?”
"Gods," she sighed, running her fingers back through her hair. "I don't know where to start." Andy adjusted how she sat, her fingers twiddled in her lap as she tried to figure out how to unload... well, everything. "The other night at the party... Ajax told me he loved me. I said it back and then I... spent the night with him." She didn't elaborate on that, Trinity was smart and could connect the dots and Andy wasn't sure if she wanted to unpack that just yet.
"Somehow Mason found out. I've never seen him so mad at me in my entire life. It's not that he doesn't approve of me and Ajax... He's disappointed in me. He treats me like I'm an idiot for being with someone who doesn't worship the ground I walk on. I can't even tell if it's because of his hatred for Ajax or he's jealous." Andy clicked her tongue in her mouth before nodding her head and continuing. "And during capture the flag I got in the middle of a fight between Mason, Ajax and Alex, because I don't seem to know how to stay out of it," she laughed at her own stupidity. "I called Alex a murderer and pissed off Ajax."
Andy's mouth scrunched up as she tapped her finger on the back of the couch. She sighed as her other hand pinched the bridge of her nose. "Then the whole Eve and Mason thing unfolded. And I got... jealous." For the first time since she started talking, Andy looked over at Trinity. "I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm selfish and don't want to share my friend. Or, I wanted to be shitty about his relationship like he is about mine... Or, I don't know." She sighed. "And Ajax heard the end of Mason and I arguing. He heard me say I was jealous and I wished Mason could say how he really felt."
Now that it all was out in the open, Andy rested her head against the back of the couch while her hands fiddled with the sleeves of her shirt. She was scared to look at Trinity. She felt horrible. She knew she didn't deserve Mason or Ajax in her life. It was dumb that Andy thought her friendship and relationship could live side by side without imploding. She didn't want to be forced to choose between the two of them but it seemed as each day carried on the more she fought with either one of them. "I feel selfish," her voice cracked as she whispered. "I don't deserve either one of them."
***
Trinity and Andy weren't the type to openly unload everything very often. They both internalized whatever struggles they were going through for too long. It was like a small weight was lifted off Andy's shoulders now that she was able to talk to someone about it. And when the pair seemed to reach their limit for sharing for the time being, they decided to wonder off toward the main hall. It was safe to say neither one of them wanted to deal with others, but food was more important than their pride... temporarily anyway.
Andy froze outside the entrance of the main hall when she saw, through the sea of campers, the back of Ajax's head and Eve sitting across from him. She watched as the blonde smiled coyly and leaned in towards him. "Are you fucking kidding me?" she hissed under her breath. Andy's jaw was clenched as she threw open the door and trudged straight over to the table, paying no mind to anyone else.
She came up behind Ajax, conjuring a danger in her right hand. Before the blonde had a chance to look over at her, Andy slammed the knife down through the center of her plate and into the table. "Hey Eve," she said with a friendly smile but a sharp tone. "No, no, please... stay." She put her hand on Eve's shoulder, forcefully keeping the girl in her seat as she sat down beside her.
She half looked over her shoulder toward Trinity, pointing at Eve as she spoke. "If she uses her powers on me, break her arm." Andy smiled toward her present company as the dagger dislodged itself from the table and flew into her right hand. "What in the hell do you think you're playing at?"
Andy held her gaze as her smile faded. She ran the tip of her tongue along her top teeth while her leg bounced furiously under the table. She put up her left hand to stop Eve before she could speak, not really wanting to hear what the girl had to say. "I really couldn't careless who you spread your legs for," Andy said as she motioned the knife from Eve's face down to her waist. "But when you try to weave your little web around the people I care about... That's where I have a problem."
She then scooted forward in her seat so that she was inches away from Eve. "I don't have a say in what Mason does with his free time, but if you hurt him or use him or Trinity for your twisted little games, I will make your life a living hell," Andy said each word quiet enough that only her present company could hear. Her voice was strong and assertive in a way she's rarely ever been. "And if you ever flirt with my boyfriend again... I'll fucking murder you."
Andy spun around in her seat so she was finally facing Ajax, but she still side eyed Eve while her grip white knuckled on the knife. "Now, leave." she concluded. With a flick of her free hand upward, thick glass walls shot up from the ground around Eve. They separated the blonde from the rest of the people in the main hall with only a narrow passage way toward the exit. This left the girl with two options, stand there awkwardly or leave in the provided direction. The dagger vanished from Andy's hand as she looked toward Eve one final time, flashing her a curt smile and a wave of her hand.
Sloane heard Liam come out of his cabin and cursed under her breath. Why hadn't she moved yet? She went to turn and just walk in a direction, any direction but was stopped when he stepped out in front of her. She didn't stop him as he reached out and took her bag from her shoulder. “Sloane, let’s talk about this later, okay? I trust that you had good intentions, and after seeing what your brother is capable of, I believe that you made the only choice you thought you could. I would have appreciated a heads-up, but I get it. I'm not the most approachable guy, and I am probably not smart enough to notice."
She was surprised he was so... calm about it all. Sloane frowned slightly when he mentioned he wasn't smart, but before she could even argue that statement, he continued. “Stay. I want you to stay with me, even if I have to sleep on the couch. You're not a burden to me." She wanted to thank Liam and tell him he could have the bed back, it wasn't right for her to commandeer his bed.
Sloane parted her lips to speak but said nothing as he stepped closer to her. She watched him raise his hand and didn't recoil when he ran his thumb over the scab on her lip. His hand then fell to her neck, as his fingers pulled down her collar to study her neck. Sloane looked away slightly, not even she fully knew how bad they looked, choosing to cover them up rather than look in the mirror. "I'm fine," she said quietly.
"I mean, you can stand out here if you want to, but your things will be inside. You also stink, so… the shower will be waiting for you, too." Sloane chuckled slightly and slowly entered the cabin after he had already disappeared into the bathroom. It was a weird sensation... feeling safe. It was strange, someone as strong and terrifying as Liam was really just a big, dumb, teddy bear... that sometimes objectified women.
She made her way over to the couch, taking a seat and waiting while he got clean. Sloane hadn't noticed the dog was next to her until she felt a cold nose poke her leg before clunky puppy paws climbed their way into her lap. She couldn't help but smile down at the cute little thing, raising her hand to rub its ears. Liam wasn't in the shower long, her eyes accidentally wondered as he drifted from the bathroom to the bedroom in just a towel. The dog looked toward her, cocking its head to the side. Sloane's cheeks flushed as she sunk further into the couch. "Shh," she said to the dog.
When Liam sat down next to her, the puppy quickly left her and found its way into his lap. "I guess it's my turn then," she said as she stood up and slipped off her shoes. Just before she headed to the bathroom, Sloane looked over at him once more. "Thanks Liam." She leaned down and kissed his cheek before she made her way to the bathroom, closing the door behind her. Hopefully that wouldn't start a chain reaction of Liam commenting on the shapeliness of her breasts or child bearing hips.
Not having all of her things, she had to shower with whatever products Liam had in his shower, all of which left her smelling a bit like old spice. Not that Sloane minded the smell, but if she expected getting out of this without rumors of her sleeping with Liam, well those chances were shot. She towel dried her hair as best she could, her natural curls coming out from the water. She then put her clean clothes back on and rejoined Liam back in the living room. "I can go make myself scarce... Wonder around camp or get my things so you don't have to babysit me. I don't ruin your chances with the girls at camp." She teased slightly. Her burdens didn't need to be his.
Liam welcomed Rocco with open arms; the pup wagging its tail and sticking its nose up against his neck and under his chin in an attempt to lap at some part of his face. Eventually, he grabbed the dog gently at either side of its face and gave it soft squish - like that kind of subdued pressure you give to little animals when you just want to squeeze them to death because of their undeniable cuteness. Because you can’t - especially if you’re the son of Ares, then you really have to watch how you go about doing that.
"I guess it's my turn then," Sloane said to him, and that drew his gaze from the overly cuddly up trying to climb up his shoulders, to her. "Thanks Liam." Then her lips met his cheek, and it left him just a little speechless. He wasn't used to women that simply pecked him - he was all about the full-blown make-out sessions from the doorway to the bedroom (if they made it to a bedroom anyway). A kiss on his cheek was different, but it wasn't bad.
And no, he wasn't going to objectify her. Verbally, anyway. Hell, not even in his mind as he watched her scamper off to the bathroom. He looked over at Rocco and pulled the canine down to look it in the eyes. They locked gazes, and he inquires seriously, "She looked, didn't she?" The dog tilted its head from side to side, as it had done with Sloane previously - clearly not capable of understanding what these strange humans were trying to communicate. "You think she liked what she saw?" Rocco barked at him, and it was a tiny noise that caused Liam to chuckle. "Yeah, she did. It's always the quiet ones." He offered it a wink, and the dog took off just in time for Sloane to emerge from the shower.
"I can go make myself scarce... Wonder around camp or get my things, so you don't have to babysit me. I don't ruin your chances with the girls at camp." She teased him, and he scoffs at her. "I'm beginning to think that the women here are too smart to sleep with me. I'm sure that you will make me seem less - repugnant, actually." He gave her that single squinty-eyed look that had playfully accusing undertones. He didn't speak for a minute or two and held her in suspense.
Maybe he'd say something sweet to her like: Why would I want other girls when you are a natural beauty? or, I don't care if you stay by my side. You see, these were the things that he wanted to say, but was clearly incapable of croaking out at the expense of sounding like a woman.
"Unless you liked what you saw and you don't want me with other girls?"
Nope, he went ahead and spewed out the dumbest thing he could think of. Probably the less emotionally tethered string of words that coursed through his testosterone-filled brain. Liam was a stereotypical meathead. If you saw the son of Ares, your first thoughts of him were probably the correct ones - high school drop-out, couldn't tell you the name of a single piece of literature that wasn't pornography, sexist pig, smug - a real manly man on that A-type personality level. For him to actually tell a girl that she was beautiful might shrink his biceps by ten inches. To say she had a nice rack, well - that was always the better route. Yet, he couldn't do that with Sloane. Not that she didn't have a nice body - he wouldn't know, but he just… couldn’t.
He had it in his mind - she bewitched him. She was sly. Yeah, he was going to go with that.
He placed his hands on his knees and pushed himself up, "Let's go get the rest of your shit from your cabin while your brother's out. Not that I mind that smell on you," he grinned and wiggled his eyebrows a few times in jest.
Mostly. Like 40%.
Liv smiled at Penelope as she stabbed a piece of egg with a fork and then popped it into her mouth. The redhead spoke, and she'd offer a nod or two. As she spoke of Eve, her eyes follow the blonde vixen as she meandered through the cafeteria to weave her early morning chaos. Right at that time when literally no one has touched a cup of coffee yet.
"I've never went to HS so this might be interesting. My mother hired tutors for me because we traveled all the time. Still I only got a GED. Never went to college because by then, I was making a living off of my pictures. Oh, my name is Penelope, but I prefer Nelly. Roles off the tongue easier. Mason told me you're Liv. Do you prefer to be called that? It sounds like a nickname."
"Oh, it's just Liv. It's not Livianna or whatever else it might be short for. My mother was a cruel, cruel woman. Loved to keep people on their toes."
"I can see what you mean about romance problems on steroids. I only got in last night, but my dad, Hermes, showed me what happened yesterday through a pensive with his memories. Is there anything else I should be aware of because it looks like I got her at a tense time?"
She nodded slowly, looking back at Penelope with a slight wince. "You should stay away from that one. She loves the drama, I guess. She can literally have the entire camp slitting each other's throats in seconds. I, for one, have decided to make like Switzerland and just sit back and watch as she lays her web. It's not really that hard to do, it would seem. I think she's disrupted pretty much every relationship that has formed. Girl's got skill, I say."
She leaned forward, ignoring whatever else is going on. Just as she said, she would. "A model or photographer?" Liv inquires, trying to find a way to keep the conversation going without immediately shutting this girl out. It didn't hurt to make a friend or two, but she wasn't sure how she's supposed to do it.
Someone’s bare hand was now on her waist, and it took her a minute to turn and look to see that it was Keith. Who else could it have been? "Hey, are we okay? I mean, I'm sorry for not taking in more than your sunshine, I didn't mean to offend you." He was quick to realize what he thought was an err on his part my withdrawing his touch, "Sorry for that too." But of all the questions going through her mind right now, will you please stop touching me was definitely not one of them. "Can we...do you wanna sit outside while the sun's out? "I do owe you a coffee,"
She nodded at his inquiry about going outside while the sun was still out. Who knows how long it will be until it hid away behind the clouds under a spell of rain again. Not that she minded the rain. As they began to walk, a bowl of cut fruit in hand, she placed a piece or two in her mouth. The first moment or two would be relatively quiet, and maybe it was even awkward. She looked pleasant, at the very least, smiling at whatever her eyes landed on - a tree, the sky.
"You don't need to apologize," she spoke only when she had all of her thoughts in order. "For anything." She turned her head so that her dark brown eyes could land on him and judge his reactions to her words. Maybe there was something about anything that she was trying to subtly get through his head. Maybe.
Then there was the son of Hades sitting under a tree. There must be a joke in there somewhere, but when she looked back at Keith, she narrowed her eyes slightly. Something was wrong there, and her attention travels to Mason curiously. He didn't look pleasant at all - like someone she should avoid. Her current companion, however, seemed apprehensive about something. He wanted to approach, but something was stopping him.
She made sure that her bowl was tightly secured in one hand, and then hooked her other arm through his. Her hand wrapped around his tricep, and she tucked herself in close. It could be platonic, it could not be. It was up for his own interpretation, but she tried to divert him from the Hades child so that they could put this awkwardness aside. She led both of them to a bench, and she sat down after unhooking her arm and set the bowl down so she could scoot close to him.
”I’m the one that should apologize, really. I mean, I got really defensive without considering all that you have been through. You don't know me, and maybe it will take some time for you to trust me. I just want you to know that, as silly as it sounds, my intuition is compelling me to offer you a safe space - something, anything." She paused for a moment, "If you need something, Keith, anything at all - just let me know. But if you need me to beat up the son of Ares, you'll have to give me a few days notice to make sure that I can come up with a clever plan." Cherise laughed at that, even if it wasn't entirely funny. She also hoped that she never had to do that. Ever.
She leaned back against the bench at that point and tilted her head back to look up at the canopy of trees where the sun poked through. She almost snuck her hand very close to his own - maybe a hair away, before another voice caused her to withdraw immediately. From surprise.
"Hi there, sorry if I am interrupting. Iliana wanted to see how you were Cherise. She could tell something was troubling you," Heath said, and she averted her eyes from whatever she was looking at to greet him with her best smile.
"Oh, oh!" She said that twice, caught off guard by the thought that someone was concerned for her well-being. It was a nice feeling that she doesn't often get to savor. "You’re not interrupting at all! Also, I am fine. I think maybe the stress of a new place is kind of getting to me, but I will be just great." Well, he certainly kept her from grabbing Keith's hand, which could have turned out pretty badly anyway. What had she been thinking? "We were just weighing our party options - campfire or movie night. I actually thought that a campfire would be nice if the weather is good for it. How about you?"
Cherise easily slipped into conversation with anyone, and that same sweet smile accompanied every single time. She was still shoulder to shoulder with Keith, just as a reminder that she hadn't forgotten about him.
Image Keith didn't mind the silence. It did give him time to wonder just how badly he might have upset Cherise and that she didn't really forgive him but other than that tormenting debate, silence was fine. They were walking in step together so either she was ready to argue or things weren't as bad as they seemed.
"You don't need to apologize. For anything," she spoke after what seemed a lifetime. He visibly relaxed. That could go up for debate, it wasn't fair to see somebody as one dimensional. But he left it alone not wishing to argue or debate.
Cherise linked her arm through his and led him and his attention away from the daunting son of Hades. Keith gave a questionable glance at her touch on his arm. Not that he minded. It was more a matter of 'does she know she's touching me'. She unhooked herself and set down her bowl and the two sat together at a bench.
”I’m the one that should apologize, really. I mean, I got really defensive without considering all that you have been through. You don't know me, and maybe it will take some time for you to trust me. I just want you to know that, as silly as it sounds, my intuition is compelling me to offer you a safe space - something, anything." His brows furrowed slightly. He had to try imagine the extent that would apply. "If you need something, Keith, anything at all - just let me know. But if you need me to beat up the son of Ares, you'll have to give me a few days notice to make sure that I can come up with a clever plan."
There was his answer, to the extent she'd try to outmanoeuvre an Ares son apparently. He hadn't noticed the Ares boy but he did know the daughter and she was a handful without testosterone. "I appreciate the thought. I mean it sounds terrific and terrifying at the same time." He chuckled too and scratched his jaw. "You're here for me though, I get it. And I appreciate it," he stated more seriously so she knew he took her offer to heart. Cherise didn't seem the type to offer things insincerely.
His fingers, whether subconsciously or consciously, skimmed over hers before another male approached and Keith placed his hands in his lap. "Hi there, sorry if I am interrupting. Iliana wanted to see how you were Cherise. She could tell something was troubling you."
Keith smiled at how kind that was. To be looked after from afar and have someone else relay the message...though that part was actually a little strange. Keith lowered his head as he let the two converse and wasn't invited in their conversation. That was until Cherise added a gateway for open conversation, even if it was a lie. "We were just weighing our party options - campfire or movie night. I actually thought that a campfire would be nice if the weather is good for it. How about you?" That wasn't for him then.
Keith drew stray patterns on the bench idly. But maybe he shouldn't let himself get pushed to the background all the time. "I'm a big fan of movies but it's something we can do at any time really with a group of friends if we wish. Campfires are harder to get together so.." he shrugged, not that his opinion mattered, "I'm also voting for the fire, drinks, etcetera etcetera," he told them. Although he wasn't sure if that was including himself or interrupting a conversation.
It seemed fate didn't want him healed or to have quality alone time with Cherise. He wasn't blaming Heath, he seemed a decent guy but it was just a streak of bad luck. When he finally felt he could open up or ask something of her, somebody else was nearby or she had a crossbow. The longer he left it, the more he'd hesitate. He knew it. He could feel the hesitance growing and opportunity slipping. Keith cleared his throat. "Hey, could I ask a favor? Could you heal me?" He rolled up his top revealing his bandaged stomach where an arrow from a crossbow pierced. Very smooth. "This is, uh, my own fault. I played with conjurations and that never goes well. That's like advanced witchery." Keith rolled his eyes to himself and tried to smile. It didn't stop him from feeling like an embarrassed fool. No matter how he downplayed it, he sucked with his powers.
"Oh, it's just Liv. It's not Livianna or whatever else it might be short for. My mother was a cruel, cruel woman. Loved to keep people on their toes."
"Hey that's fine with me, Liv. With my energy I always kept my mom on her toes, but she's adventurous herself so she didn't mind. But anyway it's nice to meet you."
Indeed, she was thrilled to have hit it off with someone so far. Now the problem would be staying in touch consistently. She was always good at making friends, but keeping them was hard for her.
Liv then warned her about the blonde not too far away. She was sitting with a gorgeous guy and as clueless as Nelly could be when it came to 'romance', she could tell that the guy was not interested in her.
"Oh I'll definitely keep an eye on her then. This should be interesting. I do plan on getting to know everyone here. I do remember her from that court scene and even though she wasn't speaking up, I do remember her sitting with another guy. One of my abilities is my photographic memory so that helps."
She continued eating and was almost done when Liv asked if she was a photographer or model. The model part caught her a bit off guard and she laughed in response.
"Definitely a photographer, hun. I am too independent for my own good and do not take direction well. I've met a few models and omg, it's like that have no meat on their bones at all! And oh, I do documentary pictures mostly from landscapes to city scapes."
Suddenly, all hell broke lose when Andy arrived with who Nelly remembered being Ares's daughter, Trinity. The dark hair lady zeroed in on the minx and really laid it on her, even going so far as to physically threatening her and using her powers. Even Nelly was a little scared of her. Her own skills were the 'threatening type' like Andy's so seeing those kind of powers being used now was unnerving. So this was Ajax's girlfriend. Now the pieces were coming together bit by bit. The blonde, Eve, started to leave, but soon had a few words of her own. One part definitely caught Nelly's attention.
“Now that I think about it though, that must make you feel pretty crappy. Ajax is such perfect, loyal boyfriend to you, and you can’t even fake loyalty. Since we all know you're not a one man kind of gal.”
Now that was eye opening. Nelly's gaze looked at Ajax's reaction and saw him clench his jaw. Did Andy have feelings for someone else? She immediately thought of Mason who appeared to have a thing for Andy based on what he told her. Oh lovely, a love triangle and you add Eve into the mix and it was just one big mess. After making a comment about the 'birds and the bees', Eve left and it wasn't long before Trinity as well as Ajax and Andy. Nelly whistled and turned back to Liv.
"Wow! Now that was intense! You know, Mason told that Ajax has been with other girls, yet according to Eve, Ajax is the loyal one and Andy is the one who is having issues. Now I can already tell Mason doesn't like Ajax, so I am wondering in all of this mess, where does the truth lie? My mom is a journalist and that is always her ultimate goal, to find the truth while being as unbiased as possible."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Iliana watched as the whole confrontation between Andy and Eve commenced. It was so intense that it left Iliana in shock and she couldn't even take in all the emotions from all parties present. She sensed Ethan using his own serenity inducement immediately to try and help the situation, but it seemed to bounce off of Andy. Only Ajax seemed to be the only one to calm down Andy. Her heart went out to the girl. Her powers were terrifying. Now she had an idea on how Heath and Ethan felt when she used her powers when mad. At least Andy had better control of her abilities because she could have easily killed Eve. Both Ajax and Andy ordered Eve to leave and she did, but not before getting the last word in. She had felt the girl's fear, but there was another emotion she couldn't put her finger on. Well, the girl reaped what she sowed. She looked over at the dark hair guy, read his emotions and wrote down down something before showing it to him.

~Are you okay?~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So there was a beach party tonight? Well that was bound to be something, Ethan thought. However all thoughts about a party exited his mind as Andy stormed in, along with Trinity. Immediately he started using his serenity inducement, but Andy's anger was so big that he had no effect on her. This was surprising to him for it was his best skill. This wasn't a good sign. Maybe he needed to practice more.
The confrontation didn't last long and soon all participating parties left. Great, now what? Ethan looked back at Iliana and saw she was in shock. Well, better to be in shock then an emotional mess. He decided he would keep an eye on her for Heath, but also kept an eye on Sylas and one of the redheads in the room. He noticed a completely new face come into the hall, but she soon left herself. Ethan figured he'd meet her soon enough. He would tell Heath what happened soon enough. Hopefully though he was having better luck on his end.
"You’re not interrupting at all! Also, I am fine. I think maybe the stress of a new place is kind of getting to me, but I will be just great. We were just weighing our party options - campfire or movie night. I actually thought that a campfire would be nice if the weather is good for it. How about you?"
Heath wondered Cherise was going to be fine. She wasn't lying, but Heath was still a bit pessimistic. Then his thoughts drifted to the mention of a party. He didn't recall hearing about a party. He did sleep in late, so maybe it happened then?
"Was there an announcement this morning about a party? I accidentally slept in this morning so I don't remember hearing one."
He also wasn't sure which party option he would pick. He wasn't the type who went to these kinds of social interactions.
Then the other guy spoke up and Heath finally paid attention to him. Something about the guy seemed 'off'. He was definitely uncomfortable. It wasn't long before he asked Cherise to heal him. Normally Heath was a nonchalant person, but even he couldn't hide the shock from his eyes.
"Wow, it's a miracle you survived. Oh what's your name again? I am Heath by the way. I am new to this camp."
"Wow! Now that was intense! You know, Mason told that Ajax has been with other girls, yet according to Eve, Ajax is the loyal one, and Andy is the one who is having issues. Now I can already tell Mason doesn't like Ajax, so I am wondering in all of this mess, where does the truth lie? My mom is a journalist, and that is always her ultimate goal, to find the truth while being as unbiased as possible," the new gal blurted out a little too excitedly for Liv. Despite the little brawl that transpired on Olympus, drama only left a trace of bitterness on her tongue. It was not a good feeling for her. She is the daughter of Poseidon. The Demigods might think that the Hades children have it worse off, and perhaps they do, but the god that holds dominion over the sea was anything but a kind and gentle deity. People forget that he was greedy and vengeful, that he left a man at sea and put him through the gauntlet of his monstrous children just because he blinded one of them. Hades was not the only one that made enemies - Poseidon did not have many friends in Olympus.
The blood of her father has been running hotly through her veins since Trinity and the trial. She tried to help them - both Alex and the Ares child, only to be met with a lot of flak. Trinity nearly beat her to death. She was aware that she had no tact in distributing her helpfulness, and that there could have been another way to do it - yet it did not erase the fact that everyone's emotional lip was unwarranted and misdirected. One demigod tried to kill her, and for that...
... Well, she could watch this whole camp burn to the ground and help no one. That was the insidious nature of her father snaking through her; a vengeful disease that corroded whatever hope she had for anything and anyone while she was here. It instantly burned all the bridges of any friends she made.
That meant that her sole purpose for being here now was to train - to grow, and she'd not be able to do that while neck deep in everyone's shit. So, she turns her gaze to Penelope and gets straight to business. "I'm only going to say this one time, dear. You will be better off staying out of their drama. These girls here, they don't want help. They want everyone to feel just as sorry for them as they do for themselves. They want all the boys here to revolve around them and their fragile little egos, and these silly boys are more than happy to oblige."
She leaned closer to the new girl, staring her straight in the eyes with the pointed look of a woman that had lost all care and concern. She glimmered with genuine hatred, a lack of empathy - like all of the emotion she could have had suddenly drained from them. "I say, let them consume each other's time with all their bullshit. Me, I have training to do - things that are more important than your quest for gossip. Because while all of you are busy playing high school, I will be busy exploring all the ways that my powers could make people pay for their slights." Sylas might have come in at the tail-end of their conversation, and the second that he aimed to sit down, she stood up.
"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt. I was just wondering if this seat was taken. I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Sylas." She looked up at him and cocked her head to the side. A hand gestures to the general emptiness of the table she sat at, and she replied with a snappy, "Oh, sure - I must be saving a whole table for my horde of friends. I am Liv, Miss Popularity, after all." The sarcasm dripped from her lips, and her eyes rolls. If he was expecting sympathy from her, well - he was better off asking Mason.
"If you don't mind, I have things to do, clothing to choose - and all that other fun stuff." That said, she turned sharply and made for the exit. Once she was outside, her gaze landed on Trinity and Mason, but the exchange of looks would be fleeting at best, for she was soon on her way to some destination. Likely the beach, which is probably the only place that she could just... be left alone. No one ever went to the beach, and it was best to get there before the drama-mongers made the space unbearable.
She, for one, is glad that Keith managed to interject himself into the conversation. It wasn't that she just wanted to talk to Heath, but that she just happened to be looking at him, too.
"I'm a big fan of movies, but it's something we can do at any time really with a group of friends if we wish. Campfires are harder to get together so.." he shrugged, "I'm also voting for the fire, drinks, etcetera etcetera," he replied with a shrug. Cherise took a moment to look over at him, her smile warm and bright - as it is seemingly always. A couple of her fingers seize the ones of his that were tracing invisible lines along the bench, and it was a momentary touch.
"You know, I brought with me an old, old movie." She laughed at the thought of how nerdy she must be to have actually thought about towing this particular cinematic novelty with her when there are literally hundreds of other movies that were more entertaining. Now her attention was on Hecate's son, and the way she chuckles so softly might imply that she was feeling rather bashful about admitted that she had certain cinematic pleasures that were not normal in this generation. "I actually brought along a VHS without thinking that no one makes those anymore. One of my favorite movies is the 1922 Dracula movie Nosferatu." And because Keith seemed that that kind of guy that likely has an arsenal of movie knowledge in his head, she goes ahead and nods her head before he could say what she thinks he is... well thinking, "Yes, the silent movie. I know, I know - I am such a dork. But I do love to play around and do little voice-overs."
Now that they got her dirty secret out of the way, back to the real world. Her fingers had long since left his after she offered up a light squeeze, and she sighed. It was a content sigh.
"Was there an announcement this morning about a party? I accidentally slept in this morning, so I don't remember hearing one," Heath broke the silence, and she laughs a bit, "I am just a very early riser, but sleep is important."
Then, just as she thought she might steal Keith away for something silly, like a walk or whatever, he went ahead and created a more valid excuse. When he cleared his throat, as though requiring some sort of attention, she averted her gaze to him and tilted her head expectantly.
"Hey, could I ask a favor? Could you heal me?" And that was the second that she became perplexed because he did not give her context before that. Her brows furrowed a bit, and she waited for more information before proceeding with her own words. That was granted when he rolled up his shirt, and his bandaged stomach comes into view. "This is, uh, my own fault. I played with conjurations, and that never goes well. That's like advanced witchery."
Cherise sighed again, but this one was different. It accompanied the look she gave him - the one that said, I know that probably didn't happen this morning, and you had me last night... so... why, you dummy?. She didn't say anything for a short while; instead her fingers grab hold of his shirt to roll it back down gently. There was no reason why the wound should be displayed to the whole of Camp Athens.
Luckily, Heath was able to break the silence that had settled once again. Inside of her head, Cherise was choking Keith to death. However, her facial features were gentle, and a slight smile found her lips - a very thin one. "Wow, it's a miracle you survived. Oh what's your name again? I am Heath by the way. I am new to this camp."
She rose from the bench, her expression was kind yet also sorry when she peeled her attention away from Keith to Heath. "A pleasure to meet you, Heath. Maybe we can catch up at the party?" Then she turned back to Keith, "Well, it looks like you are going to conjure up a VHS player for me. Then later, you owe me coffee plus a date. Preferably a movie in which you get to play the voice actor of Count Orlok. Comically, because I think you'd be good at that, and I live to be entertained."
With that settled (if he considered that he probably didn't have much choice), Cherise was on the move toward her cabin already.
"I'm scared of him," she began, and he could already feel his jaw tense. There were so many familiar emotions rushing through him. He kept his gaze elsewhere for the time being and allowed her to continue, "Sylas... threatened to kill me if I ever spoke ill against him. He keeps his word." And that was all that needed to be said. There was nothing that he could offer her that he hadn't already. Liam could say so many things about it, but he didn't want to pour salt in her wound. The only thing he could do for her now was to make sure that she had nothing more to fear. Maybe it sounded as silly to others as it does in his own mind, but she had him. No one messed with him. It was true that he would not always be able to have eyes on her, but someone will now that she is no longer forced to be alone with that monster. He hoped that maybe this small sense of freedom would build up to something bigger. Maybe even confidence in her own self. Maybe the willpower to fight back in some way.
"So... Why did you get involved? You could have ignored it. Would have been safer for you," she posed the question as she went through the drawer that he surprisingly left untouched. He didn't answer her. Not yet. He wasn't sure what to tell her other than... he just knew that he could. How does he put that into words without sounding like an arrogant ass? Furthermore, why was he so concerned about not coming off like the arrogant ass he knows he is?
The duo stepped out of the cabin, and Sloane takes a good look at the walls that had once held her hostage with her brother each night. He couldn't imagine what it must have been like, and what it felt like to take that deep sigh one often took when there was a light on the horizon, and maybe the sun was finally rising.
Rocco would be fine with just the leash for now, as there was no one else really around to disturb them. Most of the demigods have made their way to the cafeteria, and it was still early. Yesterday had been long for everyone, so it was expected that there would be a lot of late risers. The pup happily paraded his new toy around like he just conquered something; shaking it, throwing it up in the air only to chase after it, pawing it - all those cloyingly sweet things dogs do.
Just as Sloane thought her last inquiry would go unanswered forever, Liam stepped up to her. His hard, lumbering physique came in intimate proximity to her petite soft one. His chest pressed against hers, and he brought a warm palm to the mid of her back. He was significantly taller, which put her face somewhere at his shoulder. If she looked up at him at this very second, she would catch a glimpse of the underside of his chin. His head dipped forward, mouth narrowingly missing her ear. Right when she thought that maybe, just maybe he was going to pull off something sly...
... he reaches for the strap of her duffle bag and pulls it over her head and off of her shoulder. He wasn't going to make her carry it, but he will be damned if he will be caught dead pulling a rolling suitcase like someone that had inferior strength. That would look silly.
He did stay there for a moment or two, in that closeness. However, his hand had removed itself from her back since she had made it a point to remind him that she's not that type of girl, and he didn't want to invite the suspicion that he could touch her as he pleases. He looked down at her and shrugged, "Because you needed me, and I was there. You can't honestly tell me that you were standing there, taking his wrath, and not hoping that I would still be there to see it. I was, and I did something because you needed help. You were scared, and I could see it. You shouldn't have to be scared of anyone. If you leave it at that, Sloane, then it's simple. I did what any man should do."
Then it was time to begin walking back to his cabin, and it was his turn to question her once more. "Do you regret me stepping in?" He had wondered if things would be made worse by his interference, but never thought to ask her how she felt about the whole thing. Maybe he had only thought of himself, in some way, that he was making up for his own errs against his mother by rescuing this one woman. Maybe it was true, but that didn't discount the woman that would be staying with him now. If she had fears or regrets, then he wanted to know them. It was one thing to keep her safe from physical harm, but it was another to protect her from everything else - herself or whatever power her brother could hold over her.
It was pretty evident that Nelly put her foot in her mouth again after a few reactions from Liv and even Andy. She saw Hecate's daughter look at her and instantly felt regret. Nelly knew one of her biggest flaws was to say what she was thinking and that often rubbed people the wrong way. She wasn't going to apologize for it, but she would apologize if it hurt someone. Seeing the couple leave, she made a mental note to apologize later. It wasn't long before Liv spoke to her though.
"I'm only going to say this one time, dear. You will be better off staying out of their drama. These girls here, they don't want help. They want everyone to feel just as sorry for them as they do for themselves. They want all the boys here to revolve around them and their fragile little egos, and these silly boys are more than happy to oblige."
~A little late for that, staying out of trouble at least.~ Nelly thought.
Also, Liv seemed to be jumping to quick conclusions here. She sounded so sure here. Also she wasn't making much sense either. What do these girls not want help with? Nelly couldn't help but look a little perplexed at Liv's statement there.
"I say, let them consume each other's time with all their bullshit. Me, I have training to do - things that are more important than your quest for gossip. Because while all of you are busy playing high school, I will be busy exploring all the ways that my powers could make people pay for their slights."
Ooh, that really burned, but Nelly wouldn't let it get to her. Liv was definitely someone to be aware of. Her being a child of Poseidon meant she was more powerful then her. She would make sure to stay on her good side. And being a gossip wasn't something Nelly tried to be, it just happened at times. Her father was definitely a talker himself. Her thoughts became jarred when someone showed up.
"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt. I was just wondering if this seat was taken. I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Sylas."
Liv was quick to introduce herself before leaving. Nelly kept her eyes on the new guy though. Even though she had her normal 'nice smile' in place, if there was one person she'd been told to be wary of, it was this guy. Her father told her Sylas was a Child of Eris when she inquired about him. Hermes knew how bad Eris could be. This was the person who was ultimately the reason for the Great Trojan war so Hermes never pulled pranks on her like he had with others, even Hades. Nelly then noticed that Sylas was bruised in some areas.
"Hi there Sylas, my name is Penelope, but most call my Nelly. And as you can see it's just me here now and I wasn't waiting for anyone. I actually got in last night from another trip. Now I hope I am not being a bother here, but are you okay?" she asked, pointing to his bruises.
Pete's answer to her question scared Iliana. Yes he was definitely not fine. He was furious, but unlike Andy's temper, his was more like a volcano about to erupt rather then a storm, and those kinds of tempers could be more dangerous. He suddenly left and Iliana thought about him for a bit. She could tell he wanted to ask her more about her ordeal and in all honesty, she wasn't ready to talk about it. His statement about Ethan and Heath though had caught her off guard. It also made her think. It never occurred to her, but Pete was right, those two did do everything she asked them to. She had gotten use to Heath's attentions even growing up for he always wanted to protect her. He always been that way, especially after what happened to her recently. And Ethan had taken a break from college just to help her. Was she being selfish? Had she come to rely so heavily on Ethan and Heath so much that they didn't have their own lives to live anymore?
"Now that's a serious face. Care to share Lia?"
Ethan's sudden appearance caused Iliana to gasp in surprised.
"Oops, sorry Lia. I should have realized you were deep in thought."
Ethan saw Pete leave and figured he would check on Iliana. Iliana soon calmed down before answering his question. Ethan saw Iliana's serious face again as she handed him her notebook.
~Do I take up too much of your free time?~
"Where did this come Lia? Ethan asked, confused.
~Pete, the guy that was here. He mentioned something and it made me wonder if I demand too much of your and Heath's time. You two are always with me and rarely do anything for yourselves. Ethan I know you took a hiatus from college to help me. I don't want you and Heath to be around me so much if it means it's taking away from you enjoying your lives. I am sorry for being selfish.~
This gave Ethan pause. True, much of his currently life did revolve around helping Iliana, but he had made that choice. He knew how dangerous humans were and it was his choice to help Heath and Iliana. Heath had even told him how grateful he was to Ethan once and it made him feel wonderful to feel useful. Heath wasn't one to dish out compliments, so when he did give one, he always meant it.
"Listen to me Lia. You've been through hell and back in your life and I wanted to help. I think you're one of the strongest people I know and you've made great strides from the tragedies you've been through. You're also one of the most selfless people I know too and I've known a lot of people because you always are trying to help others. You're not forcing me to do something I don't want to do. I want to help. I know there will be plenty of times at this camp when I'll get to do my own thing. For now I am just content to hang out with you two since I am more comfortable with ya'll. Believe me though, I do want to meet everyone in this camp, even the more complicated ones."
Iliana listened and nodded. It was a lot to think of. One thing she knew she was going to do though, try to spend more time away from Heath and Ethan. She didn't have to meet everyone in this camp, or least get to know them, but there was no hurry either. That's when she remembered this morning's announcement.
~We're suppose to vote for a movie night or a campfire party night by the way. I don't care either way honestly, but I think I would prefer the campfire since there be more space so I can be alone if I want to, or leave early. I am going to go walk by myself for now. Can you tell Heath I will see you two later?~
Ethan nodded before Iliana got up, took her dirty dishes away and left. He soon left himself.
After Iliana walked out of the Main hall, she spotted Mason and another blonde. Her name was Trinity right? She remembered her from the trial. She didn't see anyone else though and not knowing what to do, just walked wherever her feet guided her. She ended up coming upon some cabins and saw the state of one of them. It had seen better days. Horrified, Iliana ended up approaching it before seeing two people exit it, one being a huge guy who look capable of damaging the cabin and the other was a dark haired woman. She had yet to meet these campers. They also appeared to be talking with each other. Not wanting to interrupt them, she started heading in another direction. Still the state of that cabin haunted her thoughts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heath saw he was being a third wheel when he saw Cherise look at the other young man.

"Thanks for the information Cherise and yes, I'll see you two later.

He started heading back to the main hall when he saw Ethan coming towards him. Where was Iliana? He didn't have to wait long because Ethan took initiative.

"Iliana wanted to walk alone and wanted me to tell you that. Oh and a lot just happened after you left." he said before telling Heath everything that happened between Ajax, Alex, and Eve. He then talked about his talk with Iliana. Heath sighed.

"I'll be honest Ethan. I am always terrified that something will happen to Iliana when I am not with her. But my practical helps keep me sane because I know Demeter is even more protective of her daughter. So much so she told me she'll always have something watching her, even at this camp."

"Like what exactly?"

"Like tree nymphs or her own personal servants. Being the Greek equivalent of Mother Nature, Demeter does have a LOT of connections. Only Poseidon would have more since water covers more of the Earth then land."

"So what do you want to do now? Oh, there's an vote we have to do. We need to decide if we want a movie night or campfire party."

"Really? I'd rather stay in my room and read or work on my latest book. But then again the party idea might be best because then I can keep an eye on other campers. I still don't trust Mason when it comes to Alex. And we still need to find out what happened to Sylas."

"How about this then? I've been wanting to find time to work on some architecture ideas so why don't we head back to our cabin so you can work on your book and I can do that. Well we can do that after voting. Then this evening we can do the party. I was going to vote for partying anyway because I've been wanting to meet the rest of the campers anyway."

"Good idea. Oh, thanks for everything Ethan. You've been a great help, and I know you didn't have to be."

"Anytime man! I am just happy that Iliana is trying to do more things on her own."

This caused Heath to smile and the two headed off to make that vote.

Cherise caught cheating.

Image

Keith cringed knowing he was due for some trouble again as Cherise looked at him the way she did and pulled down his shirt so he didn't have to flash the world for a second longer. Was it disgusting or just a decency thing?

"Wow, it's a miracle you survived. Oh, what's your name again? I am Heath by the way. I am new to this camp."

Keith frowned. "I know" was his initial response but he erased any bitterness or confusion quickly seeing as saying it in trial and in person were very different contexts. "Keith," he answered.

Cherise was a great buffer for his short reply, being pleasant and talking away as only she could. Her words assured the parting was all on good terms, although Keith could feel this undertone of mentally waggling her finger at him. He got up after her and followed, expecting more scolding to come at any second.

The walk to her cabin was short and sort of quiet, and that is due to the fact that she was inwardly trying to think of all the perfectly good reasons he had for not asking her earlier. But there were none. Then again, she sort of scolded him, so maybe he simply didn't get the chance to. However, more than likely, he was just a guy and guys are stubborn. It was simple, and that's the reasoning she let in.

Cherise opened the door to the cabin, and it was pretty bare. It appeared that she had tried to move the television someplace, but couldn't exactly carry it. It was sitting on the table, screen down. Also on the table are various types of ranged weapons that exist in the same family as a bow and arrow; crossbows, regular bows, and a compound bow that looked the most intimidating out of all of them.

A foot in her door was enough for Keith to freeze and take in the weapons. He wasn't sure what he was doing in her cabin anymore, whether that was to be healed or shot again to identify the arrow and bow that caused it. Silently and hesitantly he crept in a little further eyeing her bow collection. He managed to tear his eyes away to evaluate the space of Cherise's cabin.

Cherise took a moment to look back at him as if to assess his expression and judge his comfort level. "If I would have known you were going to end up in my cabin, I would have put them away. But don't worry, I don't have any in my room," she offered up that last bit as if it was the only comfort that she could bring him. He'd have to get used to it if they were going to be friends, as she told him before. Regardless, she nodded her head towards the room and slipped inside. Her bags are still mostly packed, and a few bits of clothing were strewn about as she looked for something to wear this morning. Otherwise, she's not a dirty person - just disorganized.

"You can just sit," she gestured to the bed. "And you know - remove your shirt completely so I can see the damage. I'm not a master of healing, but I think I am pretty okay." That was reassuring. Right?

Keith moved around complying. Sitting on the bed was easy and usually taking off his top was too, but he normally didn't care what hired nurses thought of his body, whereas Cherise was a different case. Internally, he knew nothing was going to get done with a shirt on and he didn't want to test her patience. Keith forced himself to nod and took it off. He bundled his shirt on his lap. Just because she had bits and bobs of clothes laying about, didn't mean he could throw his top wherever. "I guess so long as you don't make things worse, that's fine." He didn't know why he had bippity boppity boo you're healed standards from Cherise. He guessed that was kinda like her thinking he could conjure her things with a flick of his wrist.

"You know I'd like to get that perfect date with you," he began, observing her. At first, his eyes were on her hands, interested in how she healed him, if it required physical connection or if she hovered over him and would be done in a ray of light. Then he fixed his gaze on her face, perhaps missing the process entirely. "I'm not really in charge of my powers. I could always run to the hall and make you a coffee. Getting a VHS player for movie night might be a lot harder." He smiled slightly.

Being honest with himself, there was something intimidating about sitting on a girl's bed shirtless with her wearing a sports bra. And the rest of her running gear of course. Keith had to remind himself that's all it was. He was getting healed and she had gone for a run. He couldn't ruin things by touching her or kissing her no matter how close they got. Cherise was beautiful, approachable, helpful and had a love for bows but that didn't mean he could take advantage of her kindness.

She chuckled softly at him, turning away so that she can prepare herself. It took some fine-tuning her state of mind to get her healing to work. Normally she just healed herself if she was in pain, but to deal with others was...foreign. There hasn't been much practice out there. "Don't worry. I was partly joking, and I'm sure that everyone here isn't in complete control of anything. That's why we are here. Right?" She turned and flashed him a quick smile.

Then she walked to him, slowly closing the distance. Her eyes assessed the wound's severity, and she concluded that she could take care of most of it. He will still have a scar - she wasn't that great.

"Have you, uh, named your bows? Is there a Tyler and Fred out there?" Keith had to talk to distract himself from the thoughts as well as show he understood the bows and her were a package deal.

"I never thought about naming them," Cherise replied with a small shrug. She should have told him to lay down so it was all less awkward because she has to get much closer than she thought. Not that she minded. One of her hands laid over the wound, the other encircled his closest wrist. She leaned down just a bit, his face likely caught someplace at her neck. She probably smelled like sweat.

The fingers that rested against his abdomen would begin to feel warm, and if his eyes ventured down at all, they illuminate like golden rays of sunlight. Cherise was quiet throughout the whole process; eyes closed and grip tightening just a bit over his wrist. The deepest injuries would be healed first - sinew and soft tissue mended. There was no pain, only the slight pressure of muscle and perhaps even visceral tissue being repaired. The process took longer than one might see in the movies - a few minutes, give or take, for her to mentally gauge when she had healed the most damage she could. It was like...intuition or something. She wasn't sure. Regardless of the time, she eventually withdrew both of her hands, and herself, and looked down to see her work.

She was going to need a whole lot of practice.

The superficial damage at the skin level, unfortunately, remained. At best, it looked like a wound in the middle stage of repairing naturally. That is mostly because it's kind of tiring for her.

"Sorry. It's not that I can't, it's just that it's... draining." she sighed at him, a bit disappointed. "We can do it again tomorrow and see if I can get the rest. Unless you'd like to keep the scar?" She'd let him think about that some other time, leaving it as a sort of redundant question lingering in the air for now.

He felt around his stomach and smiled at her gratefully then cleared his throat. "I can let you have a shower and get changed." That was her initial plan over breakfast anyway. "I can also make it not weird by not sitting in your room as you do." Keith got to his feet and wandered out. "Hey, seeing as you don't even have your television set up - I mean I could help you with that if you wanted but what're your feelings towards some board games?" he called, unsure if he was competing with a closed door and water running yet. Keith spun sharply on his heel remembering his shirt then lowered his head. No, he couldn't storm on in her room now, he'd have to wait. Stupid absent mind. He slowly crossed his arms over his bare chest waiting awkwardly.

Cherise did close the door, but only partly. After all, she could get dressed and undressed in the bathroom. "Board games? Oh, I love to play games. Let's do that. Kill time," she agreed and shouted all of that from the shower. The shower only took a couple of minutes, and she threw on a comfortable pair of shorts and a tank top.

When Cherise was done, Keith reentered her room and plucked up his shirt promptly throwing it back over his head.

"I hope you are ready to lose," she teased him with a hip bump as she passed by. As they played, he'd find that Cherise is the world's worst cheater. So bad that, depending on the game, it backfired on her. Not that it stopped her from moving ahead one place when she thought he wasn't looking.

* * *

After a decent play date, one without coffee and a VHS player, Keith left the daughter of Apollo's cabin, thanking her excessively. "Thank you again. I'll see you at the party. It's not far off now." With one more smile to her, and a last show of his clumsiness by stumbling out the doorway, he left for his own cabin. He should probably have reviewed his own choice of wear and how not to make a fool of himself.

She hung out at the door and leaned against the frame while he stumbled about. She wiggled her fingers at him, "See you later." She turned and closed her door so that she could take a nap before trying to figure out what to wear that says she is totally ready for a sleepover but isn't desperate.

That was hard.

She honestly couldn’t remember the last time she had a night out. The last few years had been relatively hard on her social life, and it almost seemed like she was starting at the very beginning of it all. If she were honest with herself, she’d say that she wasn’t really feeling up to going to a party. However, now that she was here and people saw her face, she might as well as show up.

As she passed by a mirror, she caught a quick glimpse of her face without make-up. She wasn't looking all that bad, and if there were going to be drinks involved, she considered leaving the heavy face paint at the door. Yeah, there was no need for it. Her complexion was perfect as it was aside from maybe a subtle wrinkle here or there that defined the fact that she must have worn a permanent scowl sometime in the past.

After perusing her bags for something worthy of gaining attention, she plucked out a dark red blouse. It was her favorite one because when she popped on some nude lipstick and thick black eyeliner, the features of her face really hogged the spotlight. She decided to pair it with a short black skirt that had cute leather accents and a pair of boots - without heels. Heels and the beach were not the best match, but this outfit sent the message she wanted it to. She held it up in front of her while standing at the mirror in nothing but a towel wrapped around her.

Yes, this was the outfit. It was true to Cherise's nature - a dash of daring, a splash of confidence, and all without having to look like a total bimbo on the hunt for a nightcap. She thought that it said she was ready to party and drink and maybe even get a dance or two with a couple of people. No one could love music more than an Apollo child. Well, perhaps Keith could rival that passion.

She tugged the attire on, buttoning and zipping things up while she roamed from here to there picking up pieces of jewelry that would compliment. She moved into the bathroom to put on a little bit of make-up - some eyeliner, mascara, and her favorite nude shade of lipstick that had a little pop of pink. She left her long hair down since it dried in soft waves.

"It's just a party, Cherise. Get a grip," she reminded herself in front of the mirror. The looking glass was her best friend; the one chance that she got to really look at herself and reaffirm or dismiss the way she felt about her life when she peered at her own reflection. Arriving at camp had given her a whole new set of insecurities, and the words of her father were still forefront. She couldn't afford to be a mess if she had responsibilities.

It didn't matter. She walked out of her room, located her super-secret stash of rosé, poured a glass only to end up drinking from the bottle. A little liquid confidence never let her down. And just so that she could have a reason not to hear anyone, she put in some earbuds and brought along her favorite tunes to stick in her pocket and listen to. Loudly.

After that, the walk to beach for campfire things, and she didn't bother to stop anywhere to see anyone.

* * *

She arrived near the party at first, looking left and right and all around to see if anyone was watching. She drained a bit more of the rosé from its bottle, and gently laid it somewhere behind the trunk of a tree so no one would notice. Sure, she was a lively woman, but this was a new situation with new people.

She passed by a few people she knew, but with music in her ears she could get away with a little wave. Everyone seemed busy chatting away with others, so she took a moment to scope out the crowd - as... dull as it was temporarily. Did someone forget the party, or did demigods do it differently?

Just as she dared to stop, a familiar voice rang out behind her. "I see that someone is hitting the fermented fruit of the gods a bit early, hmm?" Rae stood behind her, beaming with bright sarcasm from her bright red lips with a smile that pretty much said, really?. She had the bottle of wine in hand and the other hand on her hip. "It wouldn't happen to be because you are nervous about that boy I saw leaving your cabin, would it?"

Cherise turned around to look at her, gaze flat and shoulders slouching. How does she always know?

"Oh, I always know, sweety. Nothing really gets by me." Cherise blinked. Was Rae a mind-reader, too, or just that good at reading her by now? She shoved the bottle into Cherise's chest after taking a sip or two herself, then clapped her hands out in front of her while her eyes scanned the growing crowd. "I am to stay only long enough to drag a guy to my cabin. "

She tangled her arm with Cherise's own, and ventured off to the party with her. They were a good looking pair of women. "That cute boy that left your cabin - does he like the two for one deal, or am I going to have to work the charm that I learned from self-help books and copious amounts of counseling?" The worst part was that she was actually being serious, and the thought that she'd actually ask him that kind of made Cherise laugh a bit.

Rae could tell that it was nervous laughter because the daughter of Apollo had a very nasty jealous streak, and she's seen it firsthand. Of course, Rae had only been mostly joking. Any guy that would hang out with Cherise probably wouldn't go for a gal like Rae, and that was fine. Someone around here was bound to exchange cabin numbers.

"Oh, I am only joking. I am fine with sharing, but not okay with your sloppy seconds. You know - because you'd murder me in my sleep and I would very much like to continue living." True story. Rae taught Cherise a great deal of things, and she didn't want it to come around and bite her in the ass later. Besides, they were besties, and girls have a code. At least... that is what she has been told. Many, many times by many, many other women that used to be friends. She didn't understand denying someone else what another person lost because of a set of social rules. Alas, in order to function in society with the fucked-up personality that Rae had, she obeyed these social nuances to the best of her ability. For the sake of her friends. And by friends, she meant friend - Cherise, which is the only person in the world that genuinely forgives her for all of the crimes against social norms that Rae commits unknowingly.

Cherise cocked her head to the side and spared Rae a brief glance, "I thought you said you weren't going to come at all."

Rae sighed, "You know very well that this is purely for educational purposes. I'm curious as to how the children of gods interact with one another. I wonder if they have the same likes and dislikes, or if they are paired the same as their parents - romantically and such. I'm fascinated, really. I don't think I am anything like my mother." That was a lie. She was just like Artemis, only slightly sociopathic.

The two girls would chat along the way, arm in arm and looking like they were the best of friends.

Sylas was quick on the uptake and replied to her question.

"Oh, I'm peachy."

That obviously was a lie, considering the smile he gave when replying. Oh, well, she'd find out sooner or later. It wouldn't surprise her if he got into trouble and got beaten up for it. Sylas warned her about the Ares kids and about picking her friends wisely. There was a hidden meaning in that. Why the children of Ares in particular? Was one of them responsible for what happened to Sylas? It wouldn't put it past them. Trinity had been told to break Eve's arm if she misbehaved not too long ago and the blonde would have done it. She didn't remember Ares's son name, but she remembered he was a very huge man.

"Thanks for the warning. I like my face as it is."

Soon she finished her breakfast and Sylas took his leave of her, saying he hoped to see her at the party. She waved goodbye too. He was interesting, but she would still be wary of him.

After breakfast, Nelly spent her time exploring the camp and taking a lot of pictures. At one point she also made it a point to exercise at a training facility at the camp. By the time she was done with that, she had enough time to eat an early dinner, take a shower, and get ready for the party. She had been to different types of social events in her life, but none of them had been beach parties. She didn't have a traditional life by any means, which included a regular teen life. Keeping with the 'beach theme' though, she changed into something fun. She thought about taking her 'good camera' since it could take pictures in the dark, but seeing how this would be a party setting and it was a big camera, she decided not to bring it this time. Tonight was a night of getting to know people and having fun.

Exiting her cabin, she walked towards the beach and soon came upon the party. There were people already here. Soon she saw someone she had been wanting to apologize to, Andy. She came up to her with a cordial smile.

"Hey. My name is Penelope, but you can call me Nelly. Um . . I am sorry if what I said earlier this morning hurt your feelings. I am known to say what I am thinking and it's gotten me into plenty of trouble. Just know that whatever my actions are in the future, I would never intentionally hurt anyone. So yeah sorry."

Both Ethan and Heath were able to get plenty of work done that day. Each spent their own time working on projects. They did take breaks though to get outside and jog a bit some time after lunch. Neither of them had seen Iliana almost all day. She did text them to let them know she was okay though. Iliana herself been exploring the forest area mostly, all the while keeping an eye out for other campers. At one point she ended up close that damaged cabin again and had felt such rage coming from it, even from a distance. It scared her so much she ran for the trees again. She sat behind a tree and rocked herself back and forth. Suddenly a figure came out of the tree itself and hugged Iliana. This startled Iliana but she settled down quickly realizing what it was. A tree dryad. Her mother told her a number of them had decided to stay at the camp for lookout reasons. Iliana let the dryad comfort her and soon fell asleep. She woke up and checked the time from her cell phone and this was when she texted her brother and Ethan. Seeing how late in the day it was she figured it was almost time for that party. She had no plans for 'dressing up', but she figured she'd better get something else to write on. She had a tablet to write on when it got darker. Decision made, she got up and headed out of the forest area, only to see someone coming out of that damaged cabin. Even from a distance she knew this wasn't one of the two people she saw earlier. Coming up closer and softly, she was close enough to make out it was Sylas. Was he the one she felt earlier that was raging? He didn't seem mad now. She was too far away to make out his emotions and she didn't want to risk getting any closer. She waited until he was out of her eyesight before rushing in the opposite direction, taking another route to her own cabin.

Ethan and Heath had just changed when Iliana came through the door. She was out of breath and both guys took note of that.

"Did something happen Iliana?" Heath asked her.

Once Iliana got her breath, she quickly wrote down all she saw after breakfast.

After reading what Iliana wrote, Heath asked, "Did you happen to get a good look at the two campers that came out of the cabin?"

~Unfortunately no, but I do remember them being male and female. The male was muscular and the female had dark hair. Um, can I take a shower really quick?~

Heath nodded and Iliana left the room to take a quick shower and get changed.

"I don't know about you, but this situation has me confused," Ethan commented.

Heath was trying to piece things together himself. If Sylas had been furious, there had to be a reason for it. Nothing ever happened without a cause. It might have something to do with the pair that Iliana saw earlier. And one of them had been a muscular male. Didn't Sylas have bruises on him this morning? Did they male have something to do with that? Iliana had been fortunate to not have been noticed by Sylas this afternoon, but the same couldn't be said for that couple. He would keep an eye out for two people that fit those descriptions.

"I am thinking that this muscular guy had something to do with the state of that cabin and Sylas's bruises. Now was for why Sylas would throw a fit, it could be a number of reasons. One thing is for sure, that man is dangerous as well as whoever damaged his cabin. We best keep an eye on Iliana too because she doesn't know if that one pair saw her."

"Right. Aw, there she is. I see you used that 'wind' technique to dry your hair, Lia," Ethan remarked as Iliana came back into the room, dressed and hair dried.

Iliana hated hair dryers and would normally let her hair dry naturally, but the only time she willing used her wind ability was to allow a little draft come through the window and it would dry her hair that way. She only used this when she was in a hurry though. Iliana nodded in response to Ethan's comment and grabbed a tablet.

"Lia, I want you to have fun, but let's be watchful and careful too okay?"

Iliana nodded and the trio left for the beach. By the time they arrived, others were there. They saw a redhead greet Andy, along with Sylas interacting with Evelyn. And Mason was with someone too. They had to do a double take. Heath himself looked very perplexed. Was that Keith? It looked like him, but by his mannerisms, he was acting totally different. Wanting to understand who this person was, Heath, followed by Iliana, approached the two.

"Good evening, um, Keith? Did something happen to you? You look different," Heath asked, coming straight to the point.

Iliana watched her brother. She never seen him look so baffled in her life and wanted to see if he would be okay.

Ethan had decided to mingle with others. He soon spotted Cherise with another camper. They looked to be close friends. Deciding to greet them, he headed over.

"Evening. Cherise right? I don't think I've properly introduce myself yet. My name is Ethan, and I am friends of Iliana and Heath. I was studying abroad in Scotland and that's how I met the two since I was staying with Heath. Who's your friend?"

"Evening. Cherise right? I don't think I've properly introduce myself yet. My name is Ethan, and I am friends of Iliana and Heath. I was studying abroad in Scotland and that's how I met the two since I was staying with Heath. Who's your friend?" Right there, right then, Ethan must have realized that - at some point - he's about to walk into the Cherise and Rae sandwich that people think they wanted, but didn't know that they really didn't. Together, the girls were wild. Cherise had always been lively and outgoing - a free spirit that liked to have a lot of fun. Rae just didn't give a fuck about what the world thought about her, so she did as she pleased so long as there was a reason behind it.

So, the two girls looked at each other and grinned wide. They were devilish little grins that all but sealed the fate of this poor soul, and he would soon find himself on their radar. Hey, he approached them first. They were hot, so no one was going to blame him. Cherise laughed, already feeling the onset of slight inebriation, "This is my best friend in the whole wide world, Rae Meadows, daughter of Artemis."

The vibrant redhead pointed at him, "If I am judging the situation correctly, then I believe that you approached us first which means you are interested in something. In exchange for whatever it is you want, we require a dance. You see, we have these moves we used to bust out in school. We were always the talk of the dance." She placed her hands on her hips and cocked her head to the side. The music was bumping and tunes that can really be bopped to are starting to kick it. This naturally made Cherise feel like she was in the right place, and Rae would do anything to seem more normal and blend in. As her mother insisted.

The two ladies grab both of Ethan's wrists and dragged him out, potentially against his will, toward the main scene where all the dancers were. If there were any. If not, well, that was well and all. At some point, Rae yelled out to Daniel, "Hey, Cherise's boy toy - grab us some beers and get some good music going!" They could get into themselves. Once they were placed where the music was most optimal for the gyration of bodies, the two of them assumed positions to the front and back of Ethan and began to dance.

Only, this wasn't the dance every guy dreamed of as he was sandwiched between two girls. They busted out the most ridiculous 70's dance moves that they could muster. They were getting funky with it, and likely to Ethan's embarrassment. These moves included things like the Bus Stop, the robot, the sprinkler, the bunny slope, wax on and wax off, the face wave, and so much more. Hell, they probably threw in their own made-up moves. That isn't to say Cherise didn't know how to dance in a way that would make a guy much more satisfied, but she's just going to have a good time for as long as she could before she, too, got roped into anything serious.

Yet, as ridiculous as the two looked, they were both drama-free thus far and generally jovial. They wouldn't trade their sorry dance moves for any drama in the world, and Cherise hoped that Ethan might join in the fun. Maybe that anyone would. Rae might not have the ability to be social with very many people, but Cherise knew how to kick her big smile into gear and get her into the spirit of a carefree good time. And carefree and out of control was really hard for Rae.

Andy was about turn the handle and go back inside when she heard music just about blare behind her. Her face scrunched up slightly at the sheer volume of the party. She never remembered it being that loud. Who in the hell was in control of the volume? Maybe it was her subconscious telling her to just go inside or was it telling her to go to the party?

"It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life. For me. And I'm feeling good."

Andy's heart skipped a beat when she heard Daniel's—Keith's voice. What in the hell was he doing? She slowly spun around on her heels, glancing over her shoulder in the direction of the music. "Keith?"

He did some showy moves, flipping the microphone and kicking in beat with the song. "Oh freedom is mine, and I know how I feel." Andy's brows furrowed in confusion. Maybe it was everything that's been going on but nothing was sinking in. Was this some cruel prank that Keith thought would be funny? Was this Daniel? Had she officially lost her mind and was hallucinating?

"Andy, if you don't go to the party, who's gonna control your brother?" Daniel then extended his arms toward her expectantly.

"Daniel?!" her voice cracked. Andy ran toward him, jumping over the steps down from her porch. She practically leaped into his arms, nearly knocking him over when she collided into him. She held him so tight, that he'd probably complain about not being able to breathe but she didn't care.

"Hi, sis," he said quietly as he held her.

"How are you here? You died!" Tears fell from her eyes, ruining her makeup... again. But she couldn't care less. Gods did she miss him. "I can't believe you're here. I've missed you so much," she whispered.

"Now come on, things to do, people to see. 50 dollars says I can get 90% of camp's population to dance."

Daniel tried to pull her away and hold her at an arm's length. But Andy quickly wrapped her arms back around him, shaking her head. "Just one more minute, please?" She practically begged. Andy had no idea how time passed for him or what it was like. But for her, it was an eternity. Over a year without her brother. He could spare another moment or two before they went to the party. Gods knew she needed it.

Andy sighed as she finally let him free from her grasp, almost scared that if she let go of him, he'd vanish. Like it all was an illusion in her head. "Did you need to complete that outfit with a big long fluffy coat?"

She managed to actually laugh as she ran her fingers under her eyes, trying her best to fix her makeup. "It's not like I'm wearing a sequin jumpsuit," she quipped in response. Gods how long had it been since she had a normal lighthearted conversation? It felt nice. As Andy and Daniel walked side by side to the party, it almost felt like some of the weight had been lifted from her shoulders. For a brief moment she could breathe. But unfortunately, that didn't last long.

Andy's paced slowed when they reached the party as her brother quickly made his way toward Mason. On any other day she would have been right beside him but they still weren't talking. And if she smelled Eve's perfume on him it'd make her nauseous. She stood there awkwardly at the edge of the tree line scanning the people who had arrived. But before she saw anyone of worth a red head popped up right in front of her with a smile. She remembered the girl from earlier, gossiping about Andy's personal life like it was some trash TV. Suffice it to say, she did not return the smile.

"Hey. My name is Penelope, but you can call me Nelly." Andy didn't care. Maybe under different circumstances she would have been her old bubbly self. But not now. It was hard enough for Andy to bite her tongue the first time. "Um . . I am sorry if what I said earlier this morning hurt your feelings. I am known to say what I am thinking and it's gotten me into plenty of trouble. Just know that whatever my actions are in the future, I would never intentionally hurt anyone. So yeah sorry."

"Just leave my personal life out of it," Andy said before she felt an arm drape across her shoulder. Some of her tension faded away when she saw it was Trinity, even managing a soft smile.

"Look who decided to show." Andy rolled her eyes playfully at the comment. Like Trinity would have let her stay locked up in her cabin. "Hey Nelly, I'm Trinity." She gave Nelly a firm handshake, which Andy could only imagine was far more aggressive than it looked. She had to resist the urge to laugh. Trin wasn't the subtle type, one of the many reasons they were friends.

Trinity turned her attention to Andy. "Did you want to get a drink, Ando?" She was doing what any good best friend would do, getting her out of an awkward encounter. In time she'd forget Nelly's comments, but it was still fresh and she was in no mood to fake friendly. Trin's head then leaned toward hers as she spoke lowly, "You good?"

Andy held her friend's gaze and gave such a minor shake of her head, anyone else might have missed it. But it didn't seem Trinity was good either. The arrival of Wes caused the blonde to instantly tense. "I know that look," Andy said quietly.

But before she was able to tug Trinity away toward the drinks table, or just far enough away from a private conversation, Nelly had more to say. "Hello, Trinity. Nice evening huh? I got in last night so that's why I am late. I am still learning the ropes here so if you have any recommendations, I'll gladly take them. Is this ya'll's first year here or have both of you been here before?"

Andy's arm wrapped around the middle of Trinity's back, her hand gently grasping her friend's side. "Sorry, not to be rude." Although she kind of did. "But we need a moment in private."

Without anything else to add to the present conversation, she led Trin away, slowly walking them toward the drinks. Which, coincidentally, was where Wes was. "Do you think maybe you're being a little hard on him?" Andy asked, nodding her head toward Wes who's back was toward them. "He never questions you about your male friends." She saw the look Trinity made when she saw him with Alex. She understood her jealously, it was natural. But Wes had better tastes than Alex. "I doubt he has a dishonest bone in his body. He's arguably one of the nicest guys at camp. He's crazy about you... And he makes you happy." With her final words, Andy slowed them both to a stop, turning to face Trinity.

"Don't be dumb like me and ruin a good thing." She gave Trin's arm a reassuring squeeze with a smile. "I'm going to go take a shot... or like five," Andy joked. "But you should go talk to him. 5 bucks says, he's already forgiven you." Not that Trinity was in the wrong, she was entitled to her own feelings. But if she tried to apologize, Wes was already over it. He was too infatuated with her to stay mad.

Andy retreated, walking backwards towards the refreshments. She motioned her thumb toward Wes's back and gave Trinity a wink. She then spun around and went to the far end of the drinks table, giving Wes and, in particular, Alex, a wide birth. Have a good time. Don't think about it and don't get too drunk. Easy. Then it seemed the second that all went through her head, it went out the window. Andy took two shots of whatever was out, then grabbed a bear. No more.

She started toward the bonfire and almost froze when she saw the back of Ajax. Andy took a deep breath, not wanting to divert her path. She felt like that would be obvious and someone would notice, someone like Mason. But he wasn't dumb and probably could tell without anything being said. Andy slowly approached and took a seat on a different log than the one he and Duke sat on that was a couple feet away. After taking a couple sips of her beer, she sparred a glance toward Ajax as he stood up to follow after his friend. When she caught his gaze, Andy gave him a slight wave of her fingers and a brief smile before he left. It was weird. They were so close but felt miles apart. Any other party she'd be right there beside him, maybe even sitting in his lap if he had his way. But, now they were like strangers.

Evelyn did not seem pleased about Sylas asking her for a favor. And here he thought she'd love the opportunity to have the upper hand, a moment to revel in the fact that he came to her for help. Regardless of how minor his ask was. After a moment she took the bottle. "I would but you didn't even say please." Her smug expression made Sylas chuckle. "In fact, you should be begging me for this small little favor of yours. Or at least make your case of why I should help you," she added as she hid the bottle behind her back.

Sylas took the bait stepping forward to close a little bit of the distance between them. "Please, Evelyn, would you satisfy the demon in me by charming that little bottle?" His brow raised while the rest of his face remained fairly serious. He leaned his head in so that his lips were near her ear as he spoke softly. "I'll make a fair trade for your services." Sylas pulled his head back just enough so he could hold her gaze. "I'll give you one question," he said as he held up his index finger. "Any question and I'll answer it, honestly. No lies, omissions or ambiguity."

After a moment or so, Evelyn withdrew the bottle from behind her back and held it out to him. "Our little secret."

"My lips are sealed," he grinned as he took the bottle from her delicate fingers.

"Don't get too excited. Really wanting somebody varies on intention." Sylas nodded his head and gave her a silent salute with the top of the bottle to his forehead. "I look forward to seeing who you're after. Good luck."

Sylas might have added a comment about how he didn't need luck, or something else around those lines. Instead he gave her a wink and headed toward the bonfire where he planned to announce his fun activity. But then he saw the big idiot arrive with none other than his sister, which temporarily diverted his attention.

The fresh air from their walk to the beach cleared Sloane's head. Being lightheaded and dizzy was not an ideal condition while drinking. Not that she was the drinking type. She stopped just outside the tree line, taking everything in. Nothing too crazy was going on yet, some dancing and drinking, but fairly calm. Maybe she'd be lucky enough to wonder about for an hour then disappear back to Liam's cabin, away from everyone. She was about to take a step forward in the general direction of the bonfire when she caught sight of her brother beelining straight for them. "He's coming this way," Sloane said under her breath toward Liam, but didn't divert her eyes from her brother's fiery and direct gaze.

Before Sloane could even try to grab Liam's arm and divert them in a different direction, Sylas was there. "Sloane. Liam." He gave his best fake smile as he grabbed Liam's shoulder. "How's the new roomie situation going?" he asked with a grin and a tight squeeze of the brute's deltoid. While they were still in physical contact, Sylas let his powers flow into Liam. Kick her out. You don't want Sloane. She's a burden. Pathetic. After a moment when nothing happened, he moved his hand from Liam to point at his sister. "You used your powers on him... didn't you?"

Sloane shifted where she stood, her fingers twiddling and tugging at the sleeves of her shirt. She didn't say anything, just sideways glanced up at Liam before looking back to her brother. Sylas shook his finger as he laughed smugly. "She's a smart one isn't she?... Makes me wonder what she sees in a big idiot like you?"

Sloane quickly spun on her heels, moving between the two. She turned her back to Sylas as she pressed her hands to Liam's abdomen, trying to stop him from lashing out. "Don't. He's just trying to get under your skin. If you to hit him first, you'll look like the bad guy," She said quietly as she looked up at him. Sloane wouldn't be able to stop Liam if he was set on murdering Sylas in front of everyone. But she hoped he'd listen to her rather than her brother.

"Yes, tame your beast. It's only a matter of time before your control over him fades. And then what, dear sister?"

"I don't control him," Sloane replied coldly, before looking over her shoulder toward her brother. "I'm not you."

"How adorable. You asked his permission didn't you?" Sylas shook his head, laughing softly as he tossed the bottle in his hand. "She's obviously taking advantage of you big boy. You fought her battles, give up your home... even let her worm her way into your mind willingly. Is she that good in bed?"

Sloane's jaw clenched as her gaze moved to the ground and her hands fell from Liam's chest. Her cheeks began to flush, getting so red it nearly outshined her lipstick. "Who are we kidding? Sloane here is a prude." Sylas raised his hand to stroke his sister's cheek with his index finger. "I doubt she's ever been kissed." He chuckles before wrapping his arm around Sloane's shoulders. "Let's change that, shall we?"

Her eyes went wide as Sylas tugged her away from Liam. Although his face was friendly and he appeared to be walking with her amiably, his grip on her arm was strong, almost challenging her to struggle against him. She was barely able to keep up with his long strides, frequently glancing over her shoulder toward Liam. She didn't want him to start a fight, not here in front of everyone. That'd give her brother what he wanted. He was going to continue to push Liam and herself until one of them caved.

Sylas came to a halt near the bonfire, but didn't release his hold on Sloane, instead leading them both to step up on a log. He raised his free hand to his lips letting out a loud whistle. Once he had everyone's attention, he gave a charming smile before speaking. "I don't know about all of you, but my sister and I think that what this party really needs... Is a game!" He holds up the bottle, wiggling it slightly.

He jumps down from the log, leaving Sloane to slowly step down on her own while he walks around the fire. "I'm sure you've all heard of 7 minutes in heaven." Sylas smirked. "I was content with a simple game of spin the bottle, but Sloane's itching for something a little more exciting." He slowed his pace until he was standing before Andy. "Andy, would you mind conjuring up something a little more... private?"

Andy slowly sat up right, tapping her fingers against her beer. She didn't want to be a part of this game, but Sylas didn't look like he was going to let anyone get away with sitting out. She sighed, before extending her left hand with her palm up. As her hand raised, a closet rose up from the ground on a farther edge of the beach, a hundred or so feet away.

Sylas smiled as he turned back around to face the rest of the campers. "I'm sure you all are familiar with the rules." He tapped the brim of the bottle to his bottom lip as he scanned everyone. "Now who should go first?" At one point he slowed down before Sloane. "It'd be unfair to give it to you first. After all, this was your idea... You'll just have to wait your turn." He grinned looking between her and Liam.

But then he spun around and walked directly up to a particular blonde, that he was very interested to learn more about. Eve. Sylas flipped the bottle in his hand, before holding it out to her. "The honor is yours."

Sloane crossed her arms over her chest. She hated when he did stuff like this, spun things around on her. He made it seem like this was her master plan, so if she left... Well, she couldn't. With a sigh, she took a seat on a log as far from her brother as possible. This was going to be a long night.

"You've never allowed one arm to get you down, though, which is pretty damn awesome if you ask me."

Wes chuckled softly. "Well, thank you. I couldn't very well bitch about something that was my own fault, now could I?"

Alex hooked her arm in his as they headed through the woods toward the party. She seemed happy at the little decorations of lights leading to the beach and the prospect of a party. It did always seem to lighten moods for most of the campers. Wes just hoped that it might be an opportunity for him and Trinity to... move forward maybe. If that was still an option. He hated it that she was mad at him for something he didn't do. Or maybe he did and he was just too much of an idiot to realize it. Wes just hoped, whatever it was, he could fix it.

"Let's make this a night to remember."

He smiled toward her, then quickly ducked away when she tried to tickle him. "Woah, none of that." He laughed, holding his index finger up in contradiction.

Wes slowly trailed after Alex toward the concession table, where there was an ample amount of food and a variety of drinks available. He hadn't quite realized how completely famished he was until he smelled the food. He wasted no time fixing up a burger and snagging a beer to drink along with it. He barely ate all day with his stomach in constant knots. Now with food in front of him, he had to fight to urge to shove it down in a single bite.

"If there's any dancing... you going to ask Trinity?"

He froze with the burger held to his lips. "I want to... I just... I don't know if she'd agree."

Wes took a large bite out of his food as he turned around to observe the party. He froze, mouth full, when he saw Trinity standing a few feet in front of him. He stood there... awkwardly as he tried to quickly chew and swallow the the food. "Trinity... You look gorgeous." Wes looked awkwardly between his burger, beer and then Trinity. He quickly set what he held onto the table and dusted his hands off on his pants. "Can I get you a drink?"

Shortly after he asked, Sylas made a loud show beckoning everyone to join in on a game. Wes didn't know how he felt about partaking. He didn't need another reason for her to be mad at him. He slowly took a step toward Trinity, motioning toward the bonfire. "Did you want to join? I wouldn't kiss anyone... just stand there awkwardly for 7 minutes." He quickly continued adding another comment. "I mean, you can kiss whoever you want though... Or we could just walk around. Or I could leave you alone. I just want you to enjoy yourself... to be happy."

Gods was he putting his foot in his mouth. Wes awkwardly chewed on his bottom lip. He didn't know how to fill the silence, so instead he grabbed another beer. He popped it open, then held it out toward her, almost like a silent peace offering. He was content to wait until she decided his fate for the evening.

7 minutes in heaven

1. The person who receives the bottle, spins it and it will land on whomever they want. Doesn't have to be for romantic reasons, just whomever they desire.

2. They are locked in the closet for 7 minutes.

3. Afterwards the person who the bottle landed on (not who spun it) picks who goes next.

disclaimer: I suggest writing a collab between the two characters going into the closet, so that it isn't a bunch of back and forth posts and so it doesn't take forever for one round. It could be easy enough to include the spinning of the bottle, time in the closet and choosing the next person in a single collab.

Any questions, let me know :)

Image They'd talk later about the details. He mentally promised. For now the priority was for Andy and him to have fun and own the party.

Peer pressure mixed with a dash of guilt trip worked every time. But he couldn't revel in the moment because some different faces approached him. "Good evening, um, Keith? Did something happen to you? You look different," Heath observed.

Mason outright laughed and left with the quiet girl which seemed to distract Heath entirely.

"Sorry, not use to seeing my sister dance," Heath explained. Daniel looked between the dancing pair and the brother. Daniel nodded, seeing it already. "I don't know if you know this, but Iliana and I aren't blood related. My father adopted her after her own biological father was killed. Anyway, back to that question?"

Well that was just a casual bomb to drop on his head. Daniel blinked stunned Heath was able to say it all without emotion. "I guess I'm sorry to hear if you are?" Daniel said uncertainly. But as Heath seemed eager to press on, Daniel adopted a less sympathetic and uncertain attitude with a clap of his hand. "Back to that question though, I'm glad you've noticed my new look. A lot has happened. I caught the love bug, lost my virginity, tried make up, Ethan's serenity inducement is having max effect." The things he listed off probably served as a slap to the son of Athena's pride and intelligence. But he didn't lie to be harmful, he lied to be bluntly evasive. "It's a long story and the party's not the place for it. But you can call me Daniel if you like."

"Hey, Cherise's boy toy - grab us some beers and get some good music going!" A girl called out. Daniel frowned at her charm but obeyed one request, the music was something he was happy to provide. Something upbeat to get some head bopping or toe-tapping from the reluctant movers and dancers to fully indulge.

Daniel was about to head over and grab four beers when another girl approached Heath and him. “I get to see Mason dancing? Is it my birthday?” Was a blonde's way of entering the conversation. “You know, I’m super impressed with you. I thought you’d be over there all growly and ripping the two of them apart.” Was the guy really like that? He seemed to have a bit more composure than that but when it came to sisters he supposed anything could happen.

Daniel watched his mini dare take place with very tame actions and moves. He also saw Cherise and another girl with Ethan, dancing like clowns, bringing a warm smile to his lips. She was absolutely beautiful and carefree. “And you, I would have bet serious money on that guy having no friends.” Daniel glanced to the blonde. Normally that was a pretty safe bet. “Between you and me, I think he fancies himself as some kind of big scary wolf.” Daniel grinned as she did. Also, half accurate.

"I always thought a lone biker,” he jested back.

“I’m Eve.”

"Daniel," he said in turn, offering the girl a smile. "So you know Mason? Well...relatively?" he asked, wobbling his hand. The son of Hades managed to prove unpredictable time and time again.

He didn't get quality greeting time with the girl before a loud whistle pierced the party. Daniel turned towards it waiting for the big announcement from Evelyn's intimidating boyfriend. "I don't know about all of you, but my sister and I think that what this party really needs... Is a game!" A part of him wanted to whistle and applaud but that might show too much enthusiasm. "I'm sure you've all heard of 7 minutes in heaven. I was content with a simple game of spin the bottle, but Sloane's itching for something a little more exciting." Ah a modern day Janet. There was no denying 7 had the potential to be a lot more exciting. For the people locked in heaven. Or a small space for to feel claustrophobic. It was all in perception.

The dude crept around and bestowed the bottle upon Eve. "The honor is yours."

"Let the games begin," he muttered to himself, rocking back and forth on his heels with boy like excitement. However, seeing as Eve would soon be busy cozying up to whoever, Daniel looked around for some new company. The company he sought was like being doused in a cold shower. There were a few redheads on camp but fewer with the aura of Evelyn.

Daniel gravitated towards the girl who may not be locked in a closet until her turn and wasn't busy busting moves. He hooked his arm through hers and gestured off for a little walk. They could talk wherever she pleased, she wasn't the kind you could drag away. But he'd rather lead her a couple paces off, remaining in party vicinity of course.

He unwound his arm from hers and stood in front of her. There was something nerve-racking about standing before her as someone new in a sense with the whole crossover identity issues. He grinned bashfully and held out his arms. "Problem solved. Hi, I'm Daniel." He reached out for a shake. "I'm the son of Hecate, most my injuries are self-inflicted. I have a debatably bad habit of playing with illusions and conjurations." He pulled down his collar, exposing his neck and shoulder, "Wendigo conjuration," he rolled up a sleeve and pointed to the bite on his arm, "zombie," then he pulled up his top showing his abdomen, "crossbow," he smirked to Evelyn. They both knew the latter well.

He tapped to his last big scar. "And spear. This is the one that killed me," he explained softly. That part wasn't so humorous. Hecate had brought him back but Daniel was deceased for a long time. "Thank you for your help, Evelyn," he added sincerely. Without her, he'd still be the awkward geek that had no concept of his powers that lived inside a shell. That was the worst thing about Keith, otherwise, he wasn't a bad persona - but Daniel being Daniel again, he was beyond grateful and appreciative for that. How could words express it? He kissed her cheek. "You look beautiful by the way."

Daniel gestured to the refreshments. "Can I get the lady a drink? Theeen maybe steal a dance?" he suggested, quirking his brow up for her assessment. Slender Man liked to move about so he probably wouldn't pay attention to his redhead for a while.

Image Somewhere inside Mason was hoping for a rejection then he could report to Daniel he tried and failed. Iliana's consent was equally as pleasing and surprising though. He kept his moves small to avoid startling the girl, that and he wasn't big on dancing. At one stage he placed a hand on her waist and grabbed her hand to sway them about but beyond that, not much of a graze came of their dance. Mason gave Iliana a twirl or two. "Not so bad is it?" he asked her. Mason caught his booty call with Heath and Daniel. He smirked at her raising his brows and tilting his chin up.

Their dance wasn't long lasting which was for the best. Sylas whistled, managing to reach beyond the speakers. Mason shuffled closer to hear him speak. He proposed a game of 7 minutes in heaven - him or Sloane whoever, it made no difference. Mason hung onto the words waiting for the catch but it was a regular game of 7 minutes in heaven. He rolled it over in his head if it was worth joining then ultimately decided why the hell not. There was no better way to get to know your camp buddies than being locked in a closet with them. Mason poured himself a shot of vodka, downed it then picked up a beer along the way. He felt in his jacket pocket to grab a cigarette. He patted over another pocket then sighed, muttering out a curse. Mason forgot them. But he didn't really want to double back to his cabin until he saw who the poor soul that would be trapped in a closet with Eve was. At least her powers would make them feel lucky.

He didn't know if the willing participants were merging together or what as there wasn't that much movement, but he managed to bump into Alex. Hard. Rather than give her a look or words that said how badly he wanted her to drop dead, he remained stone-faced. "Open your eyes much? You gonna decapitate me too now?" He looked her over. "Got an object you can blame another curse on?"

Mason kept walking not caring for her reply and sat on one of the vacant logs. People could say what they wanted but there was a lack of accountability on the Gods and Alex's side so yeah, Mason was still pissed and if the bottle managed to land on her, he'd happily strangle her.

Image "Please don't start addressing me as 'your majesty.' and I don't know... you know I'm not much for gifts, but I am curious as to what you may have in mind.."

"Whatever your majesty prefers," Duke joked. Honestly, he couldn't see himself addressing Ajax in that formal of a manner even when he became superior in Olympian standards. They'd have to find a more comfortable title when the time came. And for now, Duke let the gift comment slide.

As the cook off began and Duke piled the cooked ones to the side, Ajax got his attention. "Now look at that." Duke looked up to his masterpiece of a burger and grinned. "I call it...." Duke waited in suspense for the perfect name for such a burger. "Well... I don't know what to call it, but I know I want to eat it."

Duke chuckled and nodded. "Probably the best choice."

Ajax bit into it and made noises like the cameras were rolling and he was advertising his burger, making Duke give him another amused glance. Duke even looked around, to the left and right and over his shoulders pointedly. "You done? I mean you've had a burger before right? Watch..." Everybody did it differently but Duke placed a burger on a bun, put the chilly sauce on the meat, showed Ajax a whole sliced piece of cheese then popped it on the burger, then sliced letters, tomato and some onion bits."Annnd" Duke popped one more hamburger on it, topped it with sauce then stepped back, compressing the burger. He was not a fussy eater but he was a man that worked up an appetite and loved his meat.

Duke left the cooking station, covering his mouth as bits of lettuce fell from his mouth. "I got a bit ambitious," he admitted. "But revisiting this gift...Do you want a shield? Warhammer?" Sure the boys knew each other but he didn't want to waste resources on something Ajax didn't use or admire at least. "That's why I'm kinda hoping you tell me the design details and we work from there. When you're ready."

Duke had another mouthful of food when an announcement of 7 minutes in heaven happened. He shook his head automatically. If people wanted to be intimate there were actual roomie cabins for that and better, it could be with a person you actually liked. The games and minds of his peers were unfathomable. Logic and the straight road sat right in front of them and they wanted to go over the river rapids. "You going to join? I mean technically you don't even have to do anything..." He didn't know why he was trying to nudge Ajax towards the game. Probably because he hadn't played a group game with campers in ages and it'd be a nice change. It'd distract him from his thoughts.

No one was more surprised then Ethan when Cherise and Rae pulled him in for a dance. For one thing, I never learned to dance. His teen years hadn't been spent around others his age. Well, he had gone to a few of Heath's families' 'get togethers' where his aunts tried to teach him a few moves. But sadly he had two left feet in that sense. However, Ethan did try his best to keep up with both girls. He looked for some assistance though, particularly from Heath. He caught sight of him with Keith still.

"Hey! Heath! I could use a hand here!"

Heath had been waiting for Keith's explanation when he heard his friend. He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight. However, he was smart enough to know that to get involved would be trouble.

"Sorry Ethan. Man up okay? You'll manage."

Ethan groaned and turned back to the ladies.

"Sorry if I am not good at this. Ya'll are great though. Try not to tire me out too much okay?"

Heath in the mean time turned back to Keith, who's real name was Daniel it seemed. It look like the explanation was too complicated for him tell him. He raised his eyebrows though at some of the things he said though. This Daniel was vastly different then Keith. However all thoughts exited his mind when Eve showed up. He pretty much ignored her. That was his mistake though when the girl touched him. He also had been looking back at Mason and Iliana and the sudden urge to separate them nearly overwhelmed him. He looked away though. His stubborn nature kicked in and he refuse to listen to his brotherly instincts. He saw Daniel greet Eve before leaving. Not wanting to be alone with Eve, he walked off and ended up near the food and watched Ajax and Duke make burgers. It was very impressive.

It wasn't long when the dancing stopped though. Iliana had been watching Ethan with Cherise and the new redhead herself. She was extremely concern for him for she could tell he was overwhelmed. She had also seen Eve around her brother and the urge to go over there and get between them was strong. A frown appeared on her face and her amber eyes flared up. Her thoughts were interrupted when Mason addressed her.

"Not so bad is it?" he asked.

Looking back at him she shook her head. He was a good dancer, but it was hard to enjoy the dance when so many thoughts filtered through her head. Luckily the dance ended and Mason soon left her side. It was at that moment that Sylas announced a game to play. She never heard of that before. Did Sylas's sister really come up with the idea? She didn't look too thrilled. Iliana was so focused on the two that she almost missed the interaction with Mason and Alex. That was the one thing she had been trying to prevent. While they were too far away for her to hear what they said, Iliana moved closer and caught Alex's annoyance. However the demigoddess soon left and approached Pete and another girl. Iliana looked around and saw Trinity and Wes. She decided to stay out of that. She then remembered Heath still had her tablet. She found him near Ajax and Duke. Heath smiled when he saw his sister.

"Did you enjoy yourself?"

Relief was evident in his voice. Iliana shook her hand a bit, which meant 'okay'. She then grabbed her tablet from him before asking if he was okay and she saw Eve with him.

"I doing better now. Did Sylas make some sort of announcement?"

~Yes, he said his sister Sloane wanted to play 7 Minutes in Heaven. I don't think it was her idea though. She didn't look too thrilled. I don't know what this game is, but it involves a bottle and a closet. Andy conjured one up it seems. Eve got the bottle.~

Heath groaned. He knew what the game was. Never played it. He immediately thought of Ethan though. The guy was not a fan of tight spaces.

"Concept of the game is simple. Eve will spin the bottle and whoever it lands on, the two of them will spend 7 minutes doing anything inside of a closet. After that, the person whom the bottle land on will pick the next person to spin the bottle."

What was Sylas trying to accomplish here? Trouble of some kind it seemed. And picking Eve seemed to only confirm it. Iliana was concerned too, only for Alex though. If Mason got picked, there was a chance he could end up with Alex. What would he do then? He would dare hurt in front of the other campers right? Heath saw concern on his sisters features.

"What is wrong Lia?"

~I am afraid for Alex. I don't think she's safe here, not from Mason at least.~

Heath nodded and whispered, "I think so too, but Mason isn't dumb. He wouldn't try something now with all the campers around."

Iliana nodded and walked off. Heath sighed and decided to check on Ethan.

Ethan was relieved when the dance ended and Sylas made the announcement. He quickly left Cherise and Rae though. He knew about the game but was not interested in playing it at all. He decided to move a ways from the others and closer to the beach. He sat on a bench and this was where Heath found him.

"Not interested in going to Heaven huh?"

"Definitely not. Where is Iliana?"

"Doing her own thing. She's got a lot on her mind."

Ethan nodded and the two sat in silence.

Iliana decided to play the game. She wanted to warn Alex, but saw that the young lady kissing Pete. She ended up sitting alone watching others.

Nelly was by herself too. The words of Andy and Trinity was still ringing in her ears. She figured the best course of action now was to watch and observe and do her best to keep her thoughts to herself. She definitely wanted to play 7 Minutes in Heaven. She did have to google an explanation of it on her cell phone though. She was curious to see who Eve would pick. She had no idea who she would pick though if she got a turn.

Cherise was having a good carefree time, indeed. In fact, she had to take a small break to smooth out her hair from all the wild dancing. In the process of pausing to do this, she caught glimpses of ‘Keith’ here and there, and his strange mannerisms caused her to tilt her head to the side. But she ended up smiling because it was good to see him crawl out of his shell. However, there was a moment when she thought she saw him with Mason; the same guy that he was so reluctant to approach this morning. He was even laughing. Just when she thought she should approach, he was leaving to walk with Evelyn.

Rae must have caught wind of this some time between looking at Ethan and then wandering her attention over to Cherise. She grabbed the brunette by the wrist and pulled her forward. "Is something wrong?" She questioned while releasing her friend, her gaze traveling to 'Keith' as well. There it was - that tiny spark of concern or something. She could see it in her face, so she sighed and rolled her eyes.

"I'm sure it's nothing, girl. To be fair, she is wearing an adorable dress, and men are suckers for read-heads. It's tough competition out here." There, that was Rae's failure at an attempt to sooth the slight burn Cherise might be feeling. He hadn't even said 'hello' to her, or anything. Then again, neither had she. She couldn't pinpoint his behavior as deviating from his natural mannerism, either, since she's only known him for a whole day and a half - or something like that.

When she caught herself just staring stupidly at his retreating form, she blinked at Rae. "What? Did you say something?"

Rae tilted her head, peeking over Ethan's shoulder, "I was just saying that you are a lot prettier than she is." Cherise tried not to laugh, but she couldn't help it because it seeped out from between her lips. Rae was the world's worst liar. "I appreciate your little lies. Anyway, I am not worried about him right now. I want to drink, have fun, and end my night not tripping over my feet on the way to bed."

Just as she said those words, Sylas announced their bonfire activity for the night. Seven minutes in Heaven. It was probably going to be Seven Minutes in Hell if it landed on 'Keith,' and she finds out that she's about to be rejected for Evelyn. The only thought of why he wouldn't say 'hi' to her was that maybe she cheated way too much on monopoly. But holy hell, she was pretty bad at it.

It didn't matter - her best friend was finally here, and boys weren't going to be her problem anymore. Rae scares them all away or carts them off. It just depends on who the guy is.

The crazy duo led each other to the circle slowly being formed. Rae was more enthusiastic about this one than Cherise was. As she looked over at the excitement on her other half's face, she just knew that lovely head was teeming with all the dirty things she could do to any one of these guys in seven minutes. Cherise, on the other hand, was hoping that the bottle would somehow sense her hesitation and be repelled by it. Fat chance in hell that would happen. Games of chance seem to always go opposite of what you wanted.

The bottle never landed on who you wanted it to anyway. Even then, Cherise is not sure she'd be okay with it, pointing at anyone right now.

After Rae takes her seat next to Cherise, she ran her hands over the lap of her skirt and spoke up, "Since we will only have seven minutes in the closet, I would prefer no talking and just doing. I just wanted to get that out there, so no one wastes my time. If you are opposed to groping, kissing, or the removal of clothing items - my safe word is 'bananas.' Now that you've been forewarned, I don't want anyone going behind my back saying that I was inappropriately touchy-feely. No safeword, no boundaries. I simply find 'stop' and 'no' to be confusing in the context of sexual activity of any kind is all. I say 'stop' and 'no' sometimes, and it hardly means those things." She seemed content to have gotten all of that out since she's a real no holds barred type of gal. Anything goes, and nothing would be out of bounds.

Someone tossed them a couple of beers, and Rae cracks them both open to give to an already slightly inebriated friend. "Chin-up, Sun Child. There are so many delicious flavors to choose from. Why have one with you can have all of them, I say! No strings. No rules. Just fun."

Cherise took a sip of the beer, and she laughed in that way that caused some of it to spurt from her nose. She quickly put a hand to her face to not look as ridiculous as she felt.

Of course the bottle would end on Mason. Iliana had to resist the urge to roll her eyes at their antics too. During their seven minutes, she glanced around at the other campers. Her eyes landed on Cherise and the redhead who had been dancing with Ethan. Cherise seemed to have issues though. She looked to see whom the brunette was looking at and it just happened to be Keith and another redhead. Iliana tried to recall the times she had seen the redhead. Wait, didn't she see her around Sylas a few times, once this morning and then later this evening? It was hard to remember everyone. She really needed to meet everyone at this point and at least get their names down. Looking back at Cherise, Iliana wondered what about Keith and the redhead was bothering Cherise. Before she could do anything about that, someone sat next to her. She looked in surprise to see yet another redhead female.

"Hi there. Sorry but I was getting bored sitting alone and I saw you were by yourself, so I hope you don't mind if I joined you. My name is Penelope, but you can call me Nelly."

Yeah Nelly had tried to keep herself entertained by watching others, but she was a social creature and hated being alone. She had seen the blonde a few times and the girl seemed meek enough not to be bothered by her presence. Iliana quickly typed out her own introduction and showed Nelly her ipad.

~"Hello, my name is Iliana. I don't speak so I use other means to talk with others.~

This definitely caught Nelly off guard. She was a mute? She met a lot of people, but couldn't ever recall meeting someone who couldn't talk. If it had been her, she might have gone nuts. Her eyes soon shifted to Eve and Mason, who had come out of the closet. Looked like they had a good time. Her eyebrows lifted up in amusement as Mason gave the bottle to Liv. Seeing how blunt Liv was to Mason this morning. Still her curious nature was peaked. She would have asked him why, but that meant leaving Iliana alone and she didn't want to be rude. So she would tuck that question away later.

Things got even more interesting when the bottle Liv spun landed on Sylas. Now that was completely out of nowhere. And the time the bottle spun it struck as odd at times. When Liv and Sylas went into the closet, Nelly turned to Iliana.

"Are you one of the new campers here. I got in late last night so I am new."

Iliana had been looking towards the closet when Nelly asked her that question.

~Yes, I am new. My adopted brother, his friend, and myself got in late too yesterday morning. Um, Nelly, I am going to check on someone. I hope you don't mind.~

Iliana looked very nervous but she did want to check on Cherise. Nelly smiled reassuringly.

"No worries girlfriend, we have all summer to get to know each other."

Nodding, Iliana got up and soon approached Cherise and the redhead next to her and sat down on Cherise's other side. She quickly typed down her question for her.

~Hello, Cherise. Is everything okay? Anything I can do to help?~

Seeing the redhead look at her, she quickly introduced herself.

~"Hello, I am Iliana. I met Cherise yesterday. I can't talk so I use different means to communicate. I just wanted to see how Cherise does because she looked troubled about something.~

She soon became distracted though by Sylas after he and Liv exited the closet. He went straight for Ethan and Heath and presented the bottle to the two of them. Now what was he up to? If she had to guess, it would be Heath who did the bottle because both of them knew about Ethan's claustrophobia.

After Iliana left her, Nelly tried to figure out what she would do next. She looked at the group around Trinity and Wesley. One of them was a big brute of a man and he did not look happy about something. Soon he left the group to sit next to Sloane. Now that was curious, but it wasn't enough for her to delve into further. She almost decided to join Mason, but then saw Ajax by himself. Figured she should finally introduce herself, she got up and walked toward him.

"Hello, my name is Penelope, but you can call me Nelly. I just got in last night and am still trying to meet everyone at camp."

Cherise was in some kind of silly conversation with the ginger; hand gestures this way and that, nodding, laughing - a little bit of everything. The discussed the pairings that had already embarked on the closet adventure, however, neither of the girls knew anyone enough to judge. It was mostly based on superficial things like appearance, and stuff like that. Apollo's daughter had other things on her mind, but Rae was an excellent distraction.

"What does it take to get a bottle pointed at you around here, hm?" Rae inquired with the flailing of her arms and a huffy sigh of frustration. "To think the gods crafted such fine male specimens and they are getting paired with duds." That was more or so directed at the brunette that had gone in with Sylas. Seriously, who dresses that that at a beach party? After the unseeming duo come out and disgraced in their disheveled state, she wrinkled her nose. Her eyes trailed after Sylas as he sought out the dissenters of the group. She cocked her head to the side, "Interesting."

As she anxiously awaits the spin of the bottle, her eyes snap to Cherise of whom had wandered off into la-la land like the pathetic little daydreamer she could sometime be. It was likely that she was caught somewhere between drunk and that teeny-tiny green-eyed monster lurking just beneath the surface of an otherwise sweet girl. She was about to speak when Iliana came over and sat down next to Cherise.

She offered a bright-lipped smile at the girl and introduced herself, "Hello, I'm Rae." Of course, it took her a second to realize that there was an iPad involved in this conversation, and she leaned over Cherise's lap just a bit to take a gander at it. "Nice to meet you. Don't mind Cherise. She's being a drag tonight. I think it has a little bit to do with her boy toy and a certain red-headed woman that is quite lovely."

Cherise blinked out of her thoughts and then dragged her attention to the iPad. She looked up at Iliana and smiled, but then swatted at Rae in a sort of clandestine behind her back movement with a hand. "Oh, hey, Iliana. I'm fine, really. You shouldn't really walk around worrying so much about people. Don't you think that you're going to stress yourself out a bit like that?" It was a genuinely curious inquiry, and her tone was soft and warm as it was always.

Rae popped up onto her feet and looked down at the pair of conversationalists, her eyes quickly fleeting to the area where there were Duke and Ajax. Excellent. Just the kind of men she was looking for, and there was a perfect excuse to go over and introduce herself. Yet one was leaving, and the other seemed to have been distracted by something. "I'm going to grab myself some food. Do you want anything? A burger? You know, what? You want a burger, I know you do. It looks like you haven't eaten in ages. You're getting a little too thin." She didn't even give Cherise a chance to protest before she wandered off to go do just that.

She didn't get very far before she bumped into a retreating Duke. A hand reached up to grab one of his arms to make sure that she didn't topple over, or maybe she's just touchy-feely like that and doesn't much care. "I'd say sorry, but that would imply that I did something wrong, which I haven't. Are there still burgers on the grill? My friend over there," she gestures over to Cherise, "... looks like she could use some food. The girl can't really handle her beer if she doesn't eat. I want to drag someone to my cabin, but I don't want that person to be her." While she didn't exactly play everything off cool, at least she was straight forward. She even remembered to take a step back out of his personal space because Cherise keeps telling her about this thing called a personal bubble. Whatever the fuck that meant. Something about so many feet between one person and another.

Meanwhile, Cherise was a bit concerned with Iliana's health regarding her unchecked empathy. It was not good for something like that to go unrestrained for so long. Especially since she just flutters around checking on people, and one day she's going to approach the wrong person. "Have you ever thought about controlling your empathy a bit more, Iliana? It's sweet that you're so concerned, but I don't want you to get hurt for being a genuinely good person. It's a problem because not everyone here is so understanding, I think. It would also be a shame to see you caught up in someone's mess."

Image Mason saw Andy grab a bottle that wasn't there a second ago and exchange words with Eve. Words that didn't exactly give off warm vibes. Somebody was nasty tonight. When Andy went away, Mason approached Eve slowly. "You have a very dark gift, Evangeline." He smirked and rubbed her back gently like he was comforting her. "Don't poke the bear too much, okay? I already called dibs on killing you when the time comes." A tight body and some great kissing skills didn't excuse people from the chopping block these days. To think he could almost adore the girl and her trouble if she didn't lie and use her powers on him.

He left Eve to it, grabbing some party food. “Mason,” a voice called to him. He looked towards the source and the redhead beckoned him to her. This was different. But what the hell, who else did he have to see tonight. He approached her and did the courtesy of squatting in front of her rather than stand over her. “Who did you hand the bottle over to?”

"Uh, that would be Liv. Why? Interested?" Mason looked between Daniel and her. She didn't seem discouraged in the least but actually happy. Women were plain scary these days. He pursed his lips hovering there in silence then nodded. "Okay then." He left the pair and prayed he'd see Daniel on the other side.

Mason glimpsed the little thing by herself sitting as part of the circle. He raised a brow and looked for her bodyguards. That was a new sight. Maybe he overestimated the treasure she was because while all of them had some powers, she was fragile like a twig. It didn't matter because soon that Nelly girl joined Iliana. It was good to see she was making friends. But she left the friend relatively quickly to jump over to a brunette. There was a lot of seat swapping going on and to avoid being caught in the middle he headed over to the new duo, standing next to Iliana mid-conversation. ..."hurt for being a genuinely good person. It's a problem because not everyone here is so understanding, I think. It would also be a shame to see you caught up in someone's mess."

Mason put his foot on the log and leant forward to share his own input. "Most of us are understanding though and would never take advantage of you or hurt you because you are so good." He glanced to the brunette almost defiant before looking back to Iliana. "Yes, it would be a shame if you were involved in someone's mess," he agreed, "but don't you trust anyone to pull you out of the deep end? Even then, who's mess would you involve yourself in?" Mason wanted to give Iliana a little self-control credit and he thought his tone conveyed that implication that whoever hypothetically she would involve herself with, would be worth it.

He waited around to see that written reply. He hoped no V appeared on that iPad of hers or Z for Zeus' kids because he actually had small hope for the girl.

Mason sighed looking into the fire. He was probably interrupting the girls and he didn't overstay his welcome. "Anyway, you ladies enjoy your night. I'm around if you get too caught up." As long as that brunette stopped being such a nagging conscience on Iliana's shoulder.

Before he could find himself an official seat, he spotted Trinity fuming. Mason slowly approached waiting for somebody else to appear by her side or purely not to get his head torn off. He didn't think he had approached her in a hyper pissed stage before. Theo made a good punching bag, where was he? Too late. Mason had drifted over and it was time to be consistent with his claims that he'd be there for her. "Hey. You okay?" Mason looked her over then saw some red on her hand. "Trinity?" he asked with a little more concern. "Come sit with me."

Mason led her to a vacant log that was reserved for the lonely. He grabbed himself two drinks and sat with his back to the group, body turned towards Trinity waiting for her to talk or rant or give him the silent treatment, he didn't know. "More disappointment?" he guessed lowly then looked over his shoulder to the group. "Whenever we get stuck next to each other at a party it's never a good sign," he pointed out in case she tried any blunt grumbling lie. The common thread was often Trinity hoarding some anger and removing herself from a situation. But Mason didn't mind it in the least.

He didn't know how to fill in the silence with warrior princess or what to do. Personally he thought both parties were okay with silence, not every minute needed to be covered in conversation but they also went to each other as a distraction. Even Mason might have grown bored if he didn’t have company between spins. Mason clucked his tongue and held one of the beers out to her. "Just don't get stupid drunk on my watch. Or pass out. I don't want steroids over there beating me up. Although..." Mason pointedly glanced over his shoulder again in Liam's direction then made sure his eyes passed by others "he might not care, right? Wes might unless Alex gets intoxicated first," he laughed lightly like it was humorous and not a harsh reality.

Mason held his bottle towards Trinity's. "To being second best?"

The redhead introduced herself as Rae and from the looks of it, she knew who Cherise was. Iliana wondered who's child she was. She mentioned Keith and the redhead he was with. Did that mean Cherise was jealous? The other day Iliana did wonder if she liked the guy when she met them before the trial. Iliana had never been in her situation before so she didn't know how she could help unfortunately. Cherise then realized she was there and spoke up.

"Oh, hey, Iliana. I'm fine, really. You shouldn't really walk around worrying so much about people. Don't you think that you're going to stress yourself out a bit like that?"

Too late for that, Iliana thought. She was an empath after all, she couldn't help but worry.

~I can't help it sometimes Cherise. It's not like I can turn off my empathy like a switch.~ she typed out in response.

She saw Rae stand up before saying, "I'm going to grab myself some food. Do you want anything? A burger? You know, what? You want a burger, I know you do. It looks like you haven't eaten in ages. You're getting a little too thin."

It took Iliana a minute to figure out that Rae was talking to Cherise. Regardless, she did nod her head. She forgot they were serving burgers. After Rae left, Cherise turned back to her.

Iliana knew all too well there were bad people. And she had already experience a lot of negativity here as well. It was why Athena was going to get that amulet made for her. She was about to tell Cherise then when Mason suddenly popped up.

He must have heard a part of Cherise's statement because he said, "Most of us are understanding though and would never take advantage of you or hurt you because you are so good. Yes, it would be a shame if you were involved in someone's mess, but don't you trust anyone to pull you out of the deep end? Even then, who's mess would you involve yourself in?"

What was he trying to say here? Iliana couldn't help give him a puzzling look. Finally, she typed something down for him.

~I know I can count on my brother, Ethan, and now Cherise to help me. And I can't help but be concerned when someone is hurting. But I do know now I have to look after myself too.~

She wasn't bound to tell him that Alex was one of the people she was concerned for. Finally the guy left them and Iliana turned back to Cherise.

~Ethan told me that Athena is going to have Hecate and Hephaestus help her make an amulet to help me with my issues. Hopefully it'll be done within a few days. Oh can you not let anyone know about my empathy. Well, if you trust Rae you can mention it, but I don't want others here to know because they could take advantage of that or block me from their emotions. Like Sylas, something about him as well as Mason worries me. They are both good at hiding their emotions.~

"Ajax. Can I offer you some advice, Nelly? - pick your friends carefully, okay? and trust no one. Especially those who just prefer to spend their time playing stupid games. If you'll excuse me, I just have to talk to my sister. Come find me later if you want? I'll... probably be lurking around somewhere."

Well wasn't this interesting? Mason had almost told her the exact same thing about 'choosing your friends wisely'. Nelly couldn't promise much but she could promise to watch her back. She valued her life too much to be reckless. She waved at him as he went to fetch his sister. For now Nelly would play the middle ground though fore she knew she was no match for the children of Zeus and Hades's son. You add in Trinity and Andy, and that was definitely a mess. And why did she even have to 'choose'? She prefer to get along with everyone, but Nelly wasn't that naive. She already proved that by angering a few campers here.

Walking around she soon spot someone having issues with balancing some food and drinks. Seeing it was a redhead like her, she came up and addressed her.

"Need a hand?" she offered before taking a few of those things she carried.

"Hi my name is Penelope, but you can call me Nelly. Where to?" she asked with a smile.

It was now Rae's turn to be bumped into, but at least the face was cute. Never you mind that she almost lost everything she was attempting to tow back to her little party of three. "Oh... uhhh, I'm sorry. I'm just a little drunk." She cocked her head to the side, her eyes venturing to sneak a peek at Penelope as she also wandered over. At first Rae supposed that it was just to grab a bit to eat, but she was soon addressed by her fellow ginger.

She allowed the girl to go ahead and relieve her of two of the burger plates. "Well, Penelope, I am glad you asked. I, for one, am headed back to my fun little party with my dear Sun Child and her little friend. You are free to join, but no drama, please. We are a hormonally, angsty free space. Parties are supposed to be fun, and some of these people are total mood crushers."

Then her attention shifted to Theo, unaware that this was her half-brother. Somewhere on Olympus, Artemis wishes that she had told Rae of her sibling. This was a camp full of Demigods that need a little love, and one shouldn't have to hit on their brother. Yet, here they are - Rae and Theo, practically locking goo-goo eyes with one another. There was even a hint of a smile. That is... before he tried to set claim to one of her beers.

"I hope you know I'm holding onto one of these beers for myself though," he informed her ever-so kindly, and she tsked him with the wag of a finger and the shake of her head. "As much as it would be easier to get you back to my cabin if you are inebriated, I think that you've had one too many drinks. The party has hardly even begun." She caught the wink, but it just led to one very confused expression crossing over her features.

A wink could mean anything.

Regardless, she took her beer back from him and fluttered her lashes at him, "The cooler is back there. This is for the girls and me, and you are not one of my girls. Therefore, you get your own beer, but I will allow you to join solely based on your attractiveness."

She swung her attention back to Penelope; then, it was back to Theo. There was an idea there. This man looked willing to do what it took to get a gal into bed, and she was looking for a boy that would do what she wants. It's a perfect time to test him. "In fact, why don't you be a good boy and get my new pal, Penelope, a burger and an extra beer. I'll keep a seat warm for you, so don't keep me waiting." With that said, she gave him a flirty departing wave before turning around to walk with Penelope back to Cherise and Iliana.

Once she made it back to her spot, she cast her eyes down at Iliana and Cherise and gave a rehearsed smile followed by "Well, eat and drink up, ladies. Our bodies depend on proper nourishment, and this party depends on a rather relaxed state of mind. AKA, drunkenness, or at the very least, something quite close to it. There will be no duds here on my watch, please and thank you." Whenever Penelope would catch up, she'd start passing out the burgers and the beers. In the process of doing that, her eyes dared to roam at those still in the vicinity of the game, wondering who the bottle was handed off to next.

Daniel. Curious. She looked down at Cherise for a moment and stepped in front of her. She didn't want Cherise to notice that there was a severe possibility of the bottle not landing on her, thus not allowing her to fall into the realm of disappointment. There were plenty of good-looking boys here. In fact...

...She placed a hand on her hip in contemplative silence and swiveled her eyes to greet Theo. Now, it wasn't that she knew this was her brother or anything. She still doesn't. She doesn't have a feeling of connectedness or anything to the effect. It was just possible that if it was there, she just brushed it away like she did all of her other emotions and instincts.

She'd wait until he got here, with or without the burger he was commanded to retrieve for Penelope. "Ah, here you are. Finally. What took you so long? Did you have to kill the cow and cook it first?" She gestured toward Cherise and Iliana, "Iliana and my Sun Child, Cherise. I'm the only one allowed to call her Sun Child, however - but you look like you could use a little dash of sunshine, and she's cute. And available. Very available."

Distractions were everything. She does what a best friend does best. Rae and Theo could get together later, but she'd like to keep the ghastly green shade of jealousy from the glimmer of her gal pal's eyes.

Cherise watched Hades with caution. She didn't really know the guy, do it was a bit unfair to pre-judge. However, something about him gave her the gut feeling that he was going to sew a little discord like the devious vixen he coupled up with in the closet. She just smiled because that's what she does - pretends like things don't eat her away at the expense of not stressing out other people.

"Most of us are understanding though and would never take advantage of you or hurt you because you are so good. Yes, it would be a shame if you were involved in someone's mess, but don't you trust anyone to pull you out of the deep end? Even then, who's mess would you involve yourself in?" Maybe it was just the way he turned his gaze to Cherise that bothered her the most - as though he was implanting some doubt that she had the best intentions for Cherise.

Yet, Iliana was no dummy. The Apollo girl didn't see what was typed out on the iPad for him, but she didn't need to. Cherise and Iliana share a common thread, and things were already promised there. He's just being a dick. "Anyway, you ladies enjoy your night. I'm around if you get too caught up." She waved him on as he departs, then turned her attention back to the iPad.

She leaned down to get a look at it and smiled gently. "Sylas? Oh," she looked over at the devil himself and waved a bit in his direction. She never did ask him if he needed a spot of healing. Then again - no one in this camp seemed to want it. Men will be men. She gave him a small smile and then turned her focus back on her present company, pre-Rae showing up with Penelope and Theo. "I don't think it's Sylas you have to worry about. I think someone hurt him. I wonder who it could have been," she says this almost thoughtlessly. It just slipped out of her mouth without any real information - it had only been his word that someone close to him had done something. With the bruising evident on his person, he or she must have physically assaulted him in some way. It was her only conclusion. Regardless, she felt sorry for the guy and hoped to put Iliana at ease when it came to him.

She waved that away, and just as she went to look at who might be getting the next, Rae stepped protectively in front of her. With food and beer, too, which Cherise would never decline. She stretched out her hands to relieve Rae of what was offered to her, and places the plate on her lap and then digs the beer can into the sand.

As she introduced Theo, or - whatever that was, Cherise looked up at him and then turned red. Redder than the shirt that hugged her torso. Her eyes turned to Rae very slowly, almost in the what the fuck? kind of way. The woman knew no boundaries, but perhaps it was for the best. Standing in her clearly available state, her plate, burger and all, slid off of her skirt and onto the ground.

Great. That was just great. Why is every moment with a guy terribly embarrassing?

She rolled her eyes, but it was mostly at herself. Her mouth parted and she quirked her jaw from one side to the other, then looked up at the sky to quietly curse her father for rendering her suddenly stupid in the face of - well, cute faces. Could the gods create ugly children for once? You know, the human ones - not the menagerie of sick and twisted beasts.

Rae placed a few fingers on her forehead, her shoulders sinking. Cherise just decided that she'd have to get over it, stuck out her hand, and gave Theo her best and warmest smile that totally said, pretend you didn't see any of that. "Hi, I'm Cherise."

"So how did it go in there?" Ethan asked as Heath returned.

"A little awkward, but it's to be expected since we never talked til now."

Ethan nodded. Only one that had met Andy up to this point was Iliana, and even that encounter had been brief.

"Was Andy one of the people you thought of spending 7 minutes with? What did ya'll talk about?"

"Yes she was. I just asked her about Keith, but she said she couldn't give me answer either. I knew it was a longshot, but I felt it didn't hurt to ask as long as I didn't ask for details. I'll admit though, I do want the details, but I know it's not my business. After all, I would never give details about Iliana's situation without her permission. She did make a few comments on how the three of us are together a lot. I told her the truth that we're together a lot for Iliana's sake, but not everything. She was understandable, which I figure she would be."

"Hmm, well I have been thinking we need to start interacting with others more. You can speculate all we want, but until we get to know these people, we won't get anywhere that much. Observing them can only get us so far."

Heath thought about that. His friend was right.

"You want to start tonight then?

"Uhhh, maybe not right now. I don't want to take any chances of getting inside that closet."

"Mmm, staying over here didn't help either.

"Yes, but staying over there only greatly raises one's chances."

Heath chuckled.

"I don't think it's Sylas you have to worry about. I think someone hurt him. I wonder who it could have been?"

Iliana looked at Cherise in shock. And it was for the reason one would think. It wasn't because someone hurt Sylas, but because she didn't believe her about Sylas. Sure, she had no concrete evidence of Sylas being dangerous, but she once made the mistake of not trusting her instincts and she was trusting them majorly in this case. Plus, she couldn't help but feel that that source of rage from earlier had been Sylas since she saw him exit that beat up cabin and it hadn't been too long ago when she felt that rage. Was she really jumping the gun on this one? It was then she remembered she had seen Cherise with Sylas this morning. At a lose, Iliana just sat there, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, Nelly had just taken some of the redhead's load when a guy showed up to help. She smelled the beer on him and his first words only confirmed that. Finally the redhead answered her.

"Well, Penelope, I am glad you asked. I, for one, am headed back to my fun little party with my dear Sun Child and her little friend. You are free to join, but no drama, please. We are a hormonally, angsty free space. Parties are supposed to be fun, and some of these people are total mood crushers."

Sun child? Must be Apollo's daughter then for he was the only one Nelly could think that was associated with the Sun, unless you counted Helios of Greek mythology. But her father never talked about someone with that name, so it had to be Apollo.

"Oh don't worry about me. I am as fun-loving as they come. I prefer no drama."

Her fellow ginger then started flirting with the new guy, even asking him to get Nelly a burger and beer. It was a good thing they were in Greece because Nelly technically wasn't legal in US terms since she was 20. She was fine with beer, but did prefer something more fruity, like margaritas. Soon they arrived at the young lady's destination, which was with none other then Iliana and the brunette she had wanted to check on. Theo soon returned and the redhead quickly introduced Cherise and Iliana to him. Cherise then proceeded to get up, only to knock her food over. Nelly barely managed to contain her laughter, but a snort did come out.

"I'll clean that up, no worries," she said and proceeded to do so.

She looked at Iliana saw the girl was down in the dumps about something. She didn't even pay attention to the food and beer she had gotten.

"Iliana are you okay?"

This startle Iliana a bit, but not so much that she dropped her own food. It was then she saw Rae had returned with Nelly and there was another guy with them. Looking at Nelly, she merely shrugged her shoulders and began eating her burger. She wasn't bound to touch the beer for she didn't like alcohol. Seeing that Iliana was preoccupied, she turned back to the new guy, Rae, and Cherise.

"So fellow redhead, care to share with us your name too?"

Image “I think I've had my share of action for the night, thank you,” Evelyn replied a little too quickly. “Now I know how men feel. I would dare say that's going to beat any closet encounter we might have.”

He chuckled like any good-spirited fellow because she had a point. He probably wasn't going to grind on somebody in a closet or dance in there. Then she gave a conforming wave. So it wasn't a no but it wasn't a yes. Daniel would take it. As he started to bob and find the beat again she spoke. “You've used your chance a lot more different than I thought.”

"Oh yeah? How'd you think I'd use it?" Daniel was already amused to hear her answers.

Before he could be further entertained by her response, Andy approached. For a second he thought she had come to dance with her brother like a good little sister that knew part of a party was dancing, but nope. "Sorry to interrupt. I've heard he's very charming." Did she just come out of her way to pick on him and fun block or? "But this jerk made me come to this party. So, he gets to go next." He grasped the bottle that was shoved into his chest. Daniel mocked a glare at Andy. "Knock yourself out."

Daniel chuckled and saluted. He took one step then halted abruptly. "Andy, Evie. Evie, Andy" he waved a finger between the two. "Evie helped bring me back. And Mason. And, uh, dancing isn't in the Hecate genes so don't expect much from this one."

Daniel made his way towards the group. He lost grip on the bottle and it should have fallen at his feet, that's where the neck was going but it rotated strangely at the last second. He shook it off since he was no dynamics or physics expert. He picked it up and finally arrived in the middle of the circle where he gave it a spin. Daniel followed the bottle of destiny's neck pointing to a cluster of women and Theo. He spun it again for a redo or clarity and this time the bottle slid off through the cluster's feet. Daniel looked at Andy accusingly then followed his bottle. He put a hand on Theo's shoulder giving a friendly smile as he brushed by then saw Cherise. Truly she made him less confident. Actually anxious. "Hi. Umm..." he glanced to the bottle then her. He didn't want to drag her away into a closet because that'd be creepy, but he did want to drag her away from Theo because the son of Artemis could be a womanizer and the location would just happen to be the closet.

Cherise was red. When “Keith’s” eyes met her, even redder. Penelope was cleaning up what was clearly a disastrous first impression on the Apollo daughter’s part. The Daniel and Cherise duo would probably be known as the most blundering pair of the whole camp, but that wasn’t the worst thing two people could be together. Once her eyes were cast down to the bottle then back up, she gave him her signature smile. Only, this was the one that seemed solely for him - kind of flirty, a little bashful, but very much lit up to see him. ”Hey, Keith.” Well, Daniel was still acting very much like Keith right now, so she’d not notice the change right away.

Daniel wound his fingers around hers tentatively. "Your boy toy is going to whisk you away for 7 minutes." Cherise looked at Rae, giving her a look because that was her name for him since she didn’t have his actual name. That, and Rae loved to poke fun at her. Regardless, she was very surprised that he took her hand, but it was definitely not unwelcome. Not that she was ever going to complain about it, she’s glad that he’s making the effort to touch her first. Especially since it always seemed like she was the one grasping at him in some way.

They headed to the closet, and he waved her on in first then slid in while burying his hands in his pockets. He suddenly didn't see his 7 minutes going the ideal way where he'd get a smooch or even a hug and he was an optimist. "Let me begin by saying you looked amazing when you were dancing. I mean you still do and are."

“Well, that’s because I am amazing. Only I could bring back Disco moves and still look cute,” she laughed softly. “I couldn’t help but notice that you have some dance moves yourself.” That was all she would say about that. There were questions that lingered - mostly encompassing his interaction with Mason that seemed so out of place. However, they only had seven minutes and he promised her a real date sometime. By the time these words left her lips, she took a single baby step forward to close off a little bit of the distance that was settled between them. They weren’t strangers, and she thought their attraction was very much mutual.

Daniel rubbed his neck, and this caused Cherise to halt and tilt her head. She was close - very close; near to touching, really. He didn't know if there was a tactful way to address what was on his mind and he really didn't want to lose her respect or her form a low opinion of him. "I... I've been trying to work myself up to talk to you but you've been inaccessible." Cherise always had a pal with her and that bright smile that he didn't want to ruin. "I was actually hoping we could kinda start over. I'm Daniel. I like everything I've said, music, movies, you." He smiled slightly. Obliged to give the girl some explanation, he began, "I guess I just got crammed into a shell that I didn't like much. I kept letting people stomp on me and opportunity and potential pass by." That was the brief version and yet the total truth.

Then she was taken aback. What kind of game was he playing with her? He could have offered more of the story, but she was aware that time was ticking by and there was probably a lot more to cover. Still, she looked so confused for a few seconds - like there might be a moment where all the reactions he had expected were going to surface. Yet, Cherise was an easy gal to get along with, and she liked to believe that people were too complex to judge too quickly.

His fingers skimmed along hers, hoping she'd allow them to entwine and he spoke much softer. "One of my regrets is not kissing you when you healed me in your cabin. I'd really like to make up for that now unless it's completely bad timing and you're uncomfortable. I won't do that without your consent." Daniel scanned her eyes desperate to gauge her reaction and what terms they'd be on. He'd respect her decision, comments, queries, concerns but he hoped it didn't turn to disdain.

“Well, Daniel, I have been waiting for you to kiss me,” she whispered, interlocking her fingers with his own as she sealed off the remainder of the space that still existed by leaning in and pressing her chest into his.

As a true opportunist, he smiled and lowered his head to peck the corner of her lips then pretended to draw back with a satisfied smile before it transformed into a smirk. Their lips connected the second time, softly at first although Cherise was an easy woman to get swept up in. “Such a joker,” she managed to whisper between their lip-locking session.

Daniel seemed less reserved than Keith, or so she had observed throughout the party from afar. So, she wiggled one of her hands free of his own, grabbed his wrist and guided his fingers to the hem of her blouse. After all, they were both adults. Cherise wasn’t going to pretend that this close proximity didn’t give her more… explicit needs. He’d have to do all of the untucking, but Daniel would be free to explore from the waist up.

With his hand on the loose, he gripped the material lifting it ever so slightly before slipping his hand under her blouse and squeezing her waist. It didn't take long until his other hand was on Cherise pulling her closer if such a thing were possible. This left Cherise free to roll to the tips of her toes and and do a little handsy exploring of her own...

Too soon their 7 minutes were up and Daniel stole a few pecks from her lips and managed to force himself away from her. He flashed her a smile and left the confined space with limited lighting to rejoin the fire, heading back in step with her. "Are you happy for you and your crew to adopt me or would you rather some alone time with your girlfriend to talk about my amazing kissing skills?" he laughed. Daniel didn't think people could kiss like that without any attraction to one another.

She laughed at that, “I’m happy to say that Rae is more interested in her own kissing skills, which leaves me free to keep it all to myself. As amazing as it was. As for joining me - you’re always welcome, but you don’t have to. You can always go show your face here and there and meet me back at m -” she looked back at Rae flirting with Theo, “ - your place later.”

Yes or no, Daniel headed in a different direction to retrieve his drink as she gave the bottle off to another person and stayed standing to wait for a head nod or some invite to join her, assuming nobody else stole his attention.

Cherise had to tuck back in her blouse, and while she did that she simply handed the bottle to Trinity. There was no ulterior motive to it because she didn’t know the blond enough to have any sort of agenda. “Good luck,” she said, waiting for it to be taken before she’d head back to her group.
