P O W E R S

L u c kx M a n i p u l a t i o nx// x The power of luck is often undersold, and Evie can do such things to varying degrees although she feels the rest of her powers can tip this sort of scale so does not use it often.
C u r s e sx &x B l e s s i n g s// x Whether it be on objects or people directly, Nemesis's children can cast curses or blessings.
S e n s o r y x M a n i p u l a t i o nx// x Evelyn possesses the ability to manipulate the physical senses of others or herself. The senses can be enhanced, reduced, or removed. Thankfully, Evie doesn't choose to remove things permanently and can only achieve any effect upon physical contact.
N e r v ex M a n i p u l a t i o nx// x She can manipulate that complicated thing called the nervous system. While it stems to an outstanding amount of applications, Evelyn mostly uses it to induce pain, suppress it, calm nerves or amplify them.

P R O F I C I E N C I E S

C h a r a c t e r x // x Evelyn is an excellent judge of character. She can see through the puppeteers and manipulators, fakers and everything in between.
C o l l e c t e d x // x Her mission is to maintain a balance in life and she mimics this with her own even temper, levelheadedness and authority where required.
C r e a t i v e x // x In a world full of the sly and clever, she must be slyer and find methods of approach.

W E A K N E S S E S

M o r a l xx C o d e // x While Evelyn would like to be far far away from drama, her intolerance for injustice can have her thrust in the middle.
J u d g e m e n t a lx // x She makes her silent judgement and feels bound by silence not to say anything, particularly harmful so none may fall under her influence. It is up to others to determine what is right and wrong. Sometimes she acts, sometimes not. While this trait does help her see the characters for what they are, she can be very black and white and not see other aspects or redemption.
w e a k n e s s x // x * * *

F E A R S

P o w e r l e s s x // x The reality is her own opinions and attachments, or lack of, effect her and she can use her powers for personal affairs (though not gain). If it were to become an excessive misuse, Nemesis would probably rob Evelyn of the powers she has grown to love. Similiarly, there are other ways one can feel powerless.
A b u s ex // x Witnessing and/or suffering excessive beatings and violence shakes her up. Perhaps it's the state of being a crumpled helpless mess and for somebody to be that capable of hate.

P E R S O N A L I T Y
xxxxxxxxxxxxx trait xx Focused xx Vengeful xx Zealous x

On the surface, Evelyn is fairly subdued, calm, collected, impartial like her mother. In truth calculations race through her head 90% of the time. She can often act cool so as to remain neutral on people and make a call on them from a distance and remain level headed. But people break through that distance sometimes and rather than play judge, jury and executioner as she so often does, the girl that longs for adventure, for things not to be so black and white and wants to laugh and be immersed, is revealed. Evelyn is usually always thinking of action and consequence objectively, and when she's truly immersed, it's like a weight is lifted from her shoulders and she can just be a girl and live in the moment. But the weight and anticipation are always self-inflicted. There's no expectation, except of herself, it's just who Evelyn is.

Something inherited and raised in Evelyn is a strong sense of justice and that's often where her compassion shines through as well as her vindictiveness. But what really shines brightest is her focus and commitment to her role in retribution. Or any role or task required of her in camp since Evelyn is also one that is adaptable and doesn't much care for others opinions on her. She doesn't typically bother with false impressions but in order to explore aspects of others identities and reactions, and truly test them, another shade within her must be channelled.

Sweet and fragile as she may look, or distant and detached as she may seem, Evelyn has a sadistic side and love for karma. Only for those who really do wrong and in those moments she becomes the ultimate punisher, a pointy tail and horns practically emerging from her. Evelyn has a tough side, that is not afraid to say no, stand her ground and take the reins of a situation. Many people treat her as a genie when they come to realize her powers so she is more than accustomed to standing her ground, being threatened, seeing the worse in humanity and sticking by her decision. It's like a world of children and she's the firm aunt that has to reinforce no means no and won't give in. Alternatively, in a world of survival of the fittest, Evelyn can exchange a favour for a favour.

H I S T O R Y

Evelyn came from a pleasant family environment, being an only child to a single father who took full responsibility for her, and would describe her childhood as normal too. She was always a quick learner and from a young age told the truth of her origins, which was for the best she feels. It gave her more understanding of herself, her powers and potential to bloom.

However, as most do, having the power of a God/Goddess in her veins did stroke her ego and was a constant fight with temptation. And with the power of the gods, a little application can be majorly altering among mortals. In Evelyn's case, she wanted to thank her father for looking after her all the years without complaint, he was loyal, brave, strong, uncorrupted by society and temptation; a true role model to rights and wrongs. She won him the lottery to set them up for years. He was ecstatic, his happiness contagious, so even though it didn't sit right at her core, she couldn't tell him she tampered with luck.

Greed took a hold of her idol. Gambling became a hobby that evolved into an addiction, consuming his days and money. Thus, Evelyn often debates if she created the monster or it was always lurking under the surface.

Image Alex had never been to one single party before she came to Camp Athens. Their mother never allowed her to leave the house. Last years had been a blast, but this year was going to be different. Alex sat quietly as her brother took the chair across from her. "Are you okay?" He watched her as she managed to turn her attention to him. "..don't tell me it's nothing. When some of the campers left for the year, others stayed here. You didn't. You left me. Where did you go?"

Alex shook her head. "I'm fine. This isn't about when I left. Then, I just needed to be by myself."

"You know it's dangerous out there. Especially by yourself. Has Mason said something to you again? is that why you left?"
"No."
"Okay, so what's wrong now? Did someone else say something to you?"
"No!" she snapped.
"Al..."
Image "Just leave it alone, okay? Don't ask me any more questions." she stood up angrily. "Please." she added. It wasn't like her to shut him off without talking to him. He nodded once, his eyes looking down as he did. She gave him a glare before walking silently passed him. Maybe she shouldn't have come back to camp this year since everyone already thought she was a murderer. No one would possibly miss her, would they? Everything in her life had already turned upside down because of a stupid feud between two Gods. They just couldn't let things stay in the past.

Image He looked up, watching her head into her room. Hopefully, the party would make her feel better. Being around Duke and Wes always brought a smile to her face. Especially Duke. Oh, Ajax had noticed the way his little sister looked at his best friend. Was she acting like this because of him? Duke had recently found out about his little sister, and Alex had seen them together a couple of times without knowing who she is. Was she jealous? the corners of Ajax's lips began to lift upwards, forming a large smile as he looked away and hung his head. Laughing. He had never known her to be jealous, not even once, or she just managed to hide it well. Daniel had a new girl around him before he passed, but Alex didn't seem to batter an eye. He could go in there and tell her about Duke's sister, but maybe it would be way more entertaining for her to find out from Duke himself.

Ajax headed out the second he was dressed, but first grabbing his rucksack which sat near the front door. He decided to wear something casual: Party Outfit. As promised, he arrived a bit early with the music he had downloaded the night before on his computer. It was all taking place down near the beach again where a large campfire was sitting in the middle ready to be lit. Around it at a good safe distance sat four large log benches for everyone to chill out around the flames. The staff members were the ones hosting it all, so they were cooking on the BBQ tonight. They had containers filled with ice where the beer bottles chilled, and quite the buffet on a long table so people could help themselves to sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls and every other party food displayed. The BBQ would be serving burgers and hot dogs with or without onions. A large variety for everyone to say the least.

Her legs were locked around a sturdy branch and she engaged her core to pull herself up while biting down on the hem of her overflowing top. “Twenty-nine” she muffled aloud, “…thirty.” She pulled herself up enough to grab a hold of the branch to balance herself as she sat on the thick limb of the tree. Trinity knew well she could do more, but a party did await her and several others of camp. And what she was wearing was her party gear for the night.

From where she was situated she could see the glow of the fire on the beach. The little antisocial voice in her brain said it wasn't worth it, that instead she should choose to keep working out. Blow off that never-ending steam. Steer clear of the inevitable drunken drama. Steer clear of stupid games that accompany parties.

But it was rare for her friends to be in the same place for an extended amount of time. Parties weren't all awful either. They were a good unwind source. It was at the beach which she always loved and they could be amusing.

Trinity jumped down from the tree with a gentle thud and made her way to her cabin. She pulled herself to a halt spotting a figure pacing back and forth, doing sharp turns like arguing with themselves near her cabin. Trinity soon got the full image and smiled, leaning against a tree until Wes had decided on whatever it is he was going to do. After all, who was she to interrupt a mind train no matter how frantic. He finally approached her cabin and knocked on the door. "Hey Trin, how about escorting a one-armed loser to a party? For old times sake."
Trinity approached her porch and Wes's back. “Just for old time's sake I guess. Because you know, I don't actually like your company.” She stepped up to Wes and held out her top. “Does that smell?” She had a pre-prepared cringe on her face like his head would jerk back. But she decided against changing outfits no matter what. Trinity swung open her cabin door and strolled on in, waving him in with a hand behind her back. “You got your boardies? Board shorts?” Trinity cackled to herself. Under those jeans Wes wore, she doubted it.

She walked into her room and did a quick strip and change so her bathers were underneath instead then returned to Wes with a warm smile. “Now we can go.”

After what probably passed as a couple of seconds walking Wes, Trinity chuckled to herself. “You know, we can make you a non-loser. All you'd have to do is beat me in an arm wrestle.” Trinity was always nagging for a little round with Wes. After all, in their first meeting he'd been keen to wrestle with her but hadn't followed up since. “I remember, you specifically said, 'I'd wrestle with you any day'
, she argued. Even though something was a little off course when he said it, he had thousand percent said it.

Harleen was making her way to the beach party that she was pretty excited for. Up until now it felt everything had kind of been mechanical and people forced themselves to behave certain ways, but with a party it kinda presented that opportunity to show a few more colors. How people handled their liquor for one, who was the impulsive drinkers, what kind of drunks they were and how they behaved in a more liberating environment and event.

She rolled up her sleeves as she paced and wiped down her bare arm to pull her less than stylish five nights at freddy's and co bracelets back down to her wrist. Personally, she made herself chuckle looking at them, the fashion choice like a design of a shameless ten year old.

The bonfire was a delight to set sights on and she practically leaped over to the drinks. “'Scuse me, Sylas,” she said. Not that he was in the way but he was near enough to the cold containers. She plucked herself a beer then hesitated looking back in the lucky dip of drinks. Was it a BYO thing if you wanted more range or what? Harleen looked around to the others, tossed the beer bottle to herself and caught it. She gave a cheers motion to Sylas then wandered off.

Harley's eyes scanned the people in current attendance and she rehearsed their names silently. Even if she hadn't interacted with them personally, their name had been uttered at least once or twice by another camp mate. She smiled smugly when all their names had been said in her head and she knew she was right.

For now things were pretty tame. But once everybody felt more of that buzz, she was sure things would really kick into party mode and fun.

Evelyn must have stood near the beach merely contemplating joining for at least five minutes. But indecisiveness was not a great trait or good look on Evelyn. She closed her eyes and started towards the fire. Like some, she made her way towards the food and served herself up some dinner. Then she paused again turning around to see where to sit. It felt like high school and she was the outcast of outcasts, unsure of where she belonged.

A big man had already reserved himself a log and started shoveling food into his mouth. With him, perhaps she wouldn't be bothered and they looked to share a certain objective. The objective being to eat in peace before the alcohol took its effects and things got rowdy and soap opera like. “Would you mind if I sat here?” she asked, standing above him and gesturing to a vacant space nearby him. Of course she'd at least sit two body lengths away from him since she didn't know him and he looked a man that chose to eat alone.

He looked up at her with his brows pinched together then he swallowed his mouthful of food and pointed with his fork to the space. “No, go right ahead,” he said, which Evelyn was grateful for. Not just in his response but that he had swallowed his food before replying to her.

Common courtesy was a dying attribute. “Thank you.” Evelyn smiled politely and sat down where promised. She ate at a leisurely pace, feeling no obligation to fill the silence with chatter or wolfing down her food.

Once Alex had arrived, the party was looking so much better than she thought it would. Everyone had arrived - new, and old. It's always nice to have new faces. Everywhere she looked there were people talking, laughing, or just those enjoying the warmness from the fire as they tucked into some delicious looking hot dogs with cooked onions almost spilling over the sides of the warm bun. As nice as it looked, Alex wasn't hungry.

She could see her brother with Theo, and then a girl she hadn't seen before. Was that Theo's sister?

Alex made her way over to them, catching Emery's words about Theo owing her a drink. "You can get me one too, Thee." she winked at him whilst taking a seat by her brother for the time being, then smiled towards Emery while leaning her arms flat on the bar they were surrounding. She glanced over her shoulder and caught sight of Duke sitting with one of the new girls. Immediately questions about it popped into her head. Did he like her? did she like him? who was her Godly parent? Alex quickly looked away. It was none of her business anyway since she and Duke weren't dating.

But the thought of him being with anyone really got to her. Still, she couldn't stop him even if she wanted to.

Ajax handed Alex a glass, then poured some of his beer into it for her, just to keep her happy until Theo got the drinks in for the two girls. "Just don't get too drunk." Ajax whispered as he leaned in towards her slightly, making sure that she heard him. Alex nodded.

Getting drunk was fun, but to the point of not knowing your own name was just pointless. What was the point in having a night out if you don't remember it the next day? just seems like a waste of time.

Once Theo had the shots, Ajax took the drink and knocked it back like water, but he didn't realize how strong it was until it hit the back of his throat, causing him to choke a little. He smiled as he held it down, raising his cup to Theo as thanks. "Cheers." he coughed once more and laughed.

Ajax smiled to Emery as she said his name, giving her a nod to greet her, right before she spoke to Theo about him owing her a drink. Not long after that, his little sister had appeared out of nowhere. She seemed happier now that she was here, and a lot calmer than earlier.

As Ajax grabbed himself another drink, a bottle this time, he looked across to where Mason was with Andy. Ajax knew they had become good friends since last year, but he still felt wary of Mason. Andy had her freedom to be friends with whoever she wanted, even if that was with people Ajax didn't like so much. He couldn't control her.

Ajax turned his attention back to the group, directing his question to Emery. "So.. what do you think of Camp Athens so far? it's okay, you can be honest. If you find it shit? you can tell me." Alex chuckled in the background.
"I honestly didn't like this place at first, I mean... it's a gorgeous place, but, it wasn't home. That changed. Now it feels like home." as Ajax carried on to question Emery, Alex hopped off the stool she had sat on and wandered over to the food table with now beginning to feel hungry. She filled her plate with small triangle sandwiches and some salad for now.

Image Duke had let the girl be for the most part, and he himself really preferred the food at present. It was a comfortable silence, however sharing a log just a few spaces away from each other and knowing nearly nothing about her prompted him to talk. But even that plan took longer when he finally glanced away from his plate. The bonfire was attracting more and more campers, including Alex and his less likely to show sister. Mckenna nearly caused him physical pain as she looked far too strained and disgusted at the scene of a party. Mass social gatherings such as parties weren't everybody's cup of tea or favorite thing, but they still attended and made half an effort not to snarl at other attendees. Then again McKenna was McKenna.

He'd tend to her soon though. He cleared his throat in warning that he was going to open discussion with his new company. "How is camp treating you so far?"
Figuring that for an overused conversation starter he added, "what do you think of the bonfire? If you've got a favorite song Ajax might have it on his playlist,"
he suggested. Though Duke guessed the music choice probably wasn't what had her so closed off. But if it did help her unwind, and mingle with Ajax who had a way of reassuring people and incooperating comfort of the camp, what damage could it cause?

At a glance in his friend's direction, Duke saw he was preoccupied in other conversation and company that seemed to be growing. "Have you met my sister?" he found himself asking instead and nodded towards the brooding small blonde. A short laugh escaped him. Only few weeks ago he had met her himself, and he was trying to find her friends when she looked like the world was out to get her.

Duke overheard the suggestion of a spin the bottle game and few people merged over towards the area they claimed to play their lip-locking game. Though most the faces were first years, he knew others would join. Probably Theo, maybe Alex, Mason would probably get dragged in by his current company. Likewise, he could guess others would sit out, the red-headed girl sitting by him, McKenna. He kept a watchful eye on her until the game started, ready to intervene if any jolly drunk tried to drag her into the game.

"Oh man, Ken Doll has been upgraded to loser. I don't know if the nicknames could get much better than that."

She grinned wickedly as he gave a playful bump. Oh she was always packed with nicknames for Wes but loser was super temporary.

"Pretty sure that was old asshole Wes who said that," he replied. Before she could open her mouth to object that there were separate Wesley's, he humored the idea. "Could you handle all of this? This arm has been doing the work of two arms for quite sometime now. I may not be a fighter, but I do have some muscles."

She smiled barely able to repress a playful roll of her eyes. “I'm aware of the swell in your arm, Ken. I pick my targets you know and I do like a little challenge.”

"I'll make you a deal. I'll arm wrestle you, and if I win... You go on a real official date with me." The words almost brought her to a complete halt but she settled on slowing her pace. "And if you win...?"

“An official date,” she echoed. For some reason the concept held a heavy weight. Probably because she didn't date in the history of ever and her mind raced way ahead of time, at awkward family dinners, comparing her to his flawless ex. “Sounds serious.” She was able to snap out of her little nightmare and purse her lips. “If I win, you be my slave for 24 hours. I know, bit of a lack of imagination on my part,” she admitted with a tut. “But it's flexible for me.”

It felt like she had laid a foot at the bonfire when that one voice rang above the rest. "Spin the bottle anyone?"

Trinity side glanced to Wes. A game right in his domain and more than half the campers would be upset if the Son of Aphrodite didn't play. Most eligible bachelor not playing spin the bottle. In what world did that make sense. Trinity lifted his arm off her shoulder gently. “You can go teach the freshies how it's done.” It would be good for everyone to just sink into their comfort zones again, you know, Aphrodites children loving and kissing, encouraging that party spirit and games, and Ares children fighting. Trinity not caring who he meshed lips with. “Who knows, you might end up on Alex,” she dropped casually with a shrug. She didn't even feel bitter or cold when she said it. “Lots of, uh, you know...'cuties' this year.”

Trinity sucked in a breath doing her own double-take. Did she just refer to the new batch of demigods as cuties? Oh well. Trinity snatched a drink from the cooler not caring what foresaken flavor or type it was. But when she did see beer, her stomach and head flooded with disappointment and a pinch of anger for the lack of variety. Trinity didn't know where she left Wes in her pace off for a drink and escape, but she felt she had to keep moving with purpose.

She saw the spunky figure of Harleen, thankfully on her own and sat herself beside her. “Harley,” she greeted.

Harleen was doing the rounds with her eyes when they landed on Raven. She gave a nod of acknowledgement to her before Raven gained some company. Harley would have to express at a later time that she was glad she came.

“Harley.” Some tight leggings and grey shirt came into view, then the face followed.

“Puddin'.” Harley grinned wickedly and even gave a sparkling wink. Jokes aside, Trinity had a way of exciting Harley. It was like she never knew what she was going to get or what would happen. The two both had competitive and daring bones so it was a compelling and energetic mix. To Harley anyway. She shuffled a little closer to Trinity like she had a secret to share, her eyes downcast on their shoes. “Dare or dare?” She turned to face the fiery blonde with another grin.

Trinity shook her head slowly with a hint of a smile. “Nope. I know how that story goes.”

Harley did a pout to the quality of dramatic arts. Expectedly, an exaggerated sad face meant nothing to the camp's warrior's queen so Harley began a quiet build-up of the chicken dance, the imitation getting bigger and louder until Trinity would resort to change her mind.

A gentle elbow to her side confirmed her master plan had worked. “Shush. Fine. What am I doing?”

“Well, as tempted as I am to dare you to join the bottle of lip-locking, I won't do that.” Harley stroked her non existent mustache, pondering what could be amusing for her, and challenging for Trinity. “I would like to see you flirt. You know, really try. Or be as charming as you can be.”

“I am charming!” Trinity protested. Harley noticed the first beer had been knocked back quickly, Trinity now twisting an empty bottle to stand in the sand. “I can be anyway. You know, Wes likes my company, for whatever reason. Theo once liked me. We were like...” she twisted her index and middle finger around each other.

“Why doesn't he like you anymore?” Harley asked, concerned.

“More charming people entered camp.” She laughed.

“Oh, Trinity, that's not like...” Harley broke off with a smile and sighed out softly. That was one of Trinity's endearing traits. Not really reading and responding to signals. “I think he used to really, really like you. Now he's looking for someone else.”

Trinity's lips were paused agape and her eyebrows furrowed. “Ooohh. Damn.”

“So are you going to play charming or dance with anybody of your choosing.” Since she was a good friend she was just throwing some options out there.

"How is camp treating you so far? what do you think of the bonfire? If you've got a favorite song Ajax might have it on his playlist."

“Same as it is everybody else,” she observed towards his first question. “I think it's like a bonfire should be,” she noted secondly. It had the fire, it had the food and booze, the young attendants so it was standard. Thirdly, she looked towards the renowned son of Zeus and the other campers that gravitated towards him. Even if she did have a song request, she wouldn't want to risk hurting their bubble wrapped ego, nor approach the number of people he reeled in. “Somehow I don't think so,” she remarked simply.

"Have you met my sister?" he asked next as if he could read the chances of her approaching Ajax and that congregation of people.

Evelyn followed to whom he spoke, and a smile crept across her lips. The youngest and most sour demigod among them, ironically. “As delightful as she looks, no, I haven't.” She was going to leave it as that but in the spirit of socialization and parties and honesty, and considering she was half-blood and sister. “However, she's on my list. I think those that are more...rough have endured a lot.” Evelyn partly wished she could go up to the girl take her hands and grant her a different perception of the people in the world or turn her luck around, but that wouldn't work out so well. Firstly the physical contact, and second changing perceptions was not possible.

“McKenna and Duke, right?” Evelyn's finger swayed between the two. “I'm Evelyn. You can call me Eve if you're compelled to.” She held out her a hand for a shake.

McKenna lingered awkwardly at the edge of the party; she could literally sense someone judging her. Probably Duke. McKenna would be lying if she said they hated each other - they did have some similarities, and deep down, McKenna was probably fond of her half-brother in some manner. However, McKenna didn't make it easy for others to like her.

"Spin the bottle anyone?" the daughter of Aphrodite - Kalani, McKenna recalled - proposed, a mischievous grin on her face. The blonde eyed the beer bottle in Kalani's hand with an attempt to disguise her disdain. She was sure that these games might seem entertaining to the others, but in all honesty, McKenna found them pointless and... disgusting, for the lack of a better term. Kissing people, the respective person being determined by a spin of an empty beer bottle? McKenna wasn't sure how anyone would find that enjoyable.

“McKenna and Duke, right?” McKenna was forced to look up to the redhead who addressed her. The pains of being short. Why...... “I'm Evelyn. You can call me Eve, if you're compelled to.”

McKenna, at first, didn't have the slightest idea why this redhead would approach her (she had a sense that this Eve was at least half a decade older than her), but on second thought, it was probably due to McKenna's half-brother, who was talking to Eve previously. “Uh... yes?” McKenna refrained from staring Evelyn up and down with suspicion of an ulterior motive. McKenna heard that the other demigod was the daughter of Nemesis, so she could probably sense the blonde's uneasiness anyway. “Do you want something, or...?”

Because in all seriousness, why else would someone approach a person like McKenna?

"Trinity, there's always room for you," Mason assured her, which was just as well because her patience was running thin with her bullshit luck. "You're my number one girl and I wouldn't replace you, not like others do."
Was she being replaced by the others? Number one girl? It felt good but empty at the same time. She glanced to his hand coming to rest on top of hers then up at him.

Rather than give him the questionable look she had intended, she was distracted by his gaze elsewhere and Trinity followed it to Wes and Alex. "You and me, we got to look out for each other and I mean that." Trinity inhaled with a prepared pain in her chest. Mase and her had had this kind of talk before. "Andy's a good girl, we both like her and count her as a friend but if we were dying in the field of battle, she'd choose Ajax. Love of her life. Ajax would sooner let you bleed out too. No one is gonna pick us. Not your brother, Wes, Theo." Hearing it verbally brought that sting back. Her gaze washed over all those that she had grown to trust and would do as good as betray her on the battlefield, and the worse part was she couldn't argue against it. Because tonight, if some beast ambushed her and cut her open, they wouldn't save her. All too absorbed in their booze and hormones and several of other people. Who would prioritize saving a daughter of Ares?

Trinity's jaw clenched, her cold gaze resting on wolf boy as her thoughts went on auto-pilot. Images flooded her head of her wounded and those 'friendly faces' passing by and leaving her there. Trinity didn't fear death but she didn't want to die alone. “It’s a good thing I can fight for myself then, huh?” she told Mason.

"I'll always have your back."

Trinity smiled a little. “Thanks. And I'll have yours.”

Trinity was in a different world entirely that was so toxic and vivid, she was half tempted drive her knee into them and right hook them in advance. Thankfully, and of all people, Lise snapped her out of it. "Xena, my love," she was saying, leaning towards Trinity and tapped her lips with her index finger, "You got something for me?"

Trinity's eyes trailed to the bottle's neck pointing at her then back up at Lise. Of course. Why did she expect she'd get away with it? Trinity leaned into Lise and planted a firm kiss on her lips holding it there for a good few qualifying seconds before pulling away. Trinity's brows furrowed then as her own kiss, coming from a place of impatience, annoyance and some recently pent up rage, was projected on Lise's lips. “Was that okay?” she mumbled to the daughter of Athena.

If she was a horrible kisser, she'd prefer to know before she - if she ever kissed Wes again or if some other bottle decided to land on her. And Lise and her ego weren't the kinds to divert from the truth.

Trinity scooped up the bottle. “Al!” she called sharply before Kalani decided to change the rules to Lise's version of 'whoever the bottle lands on spins next'.

Alex didn't meet Trinity with the haste she hoped for. She took another swig of her drink during the interval.

“Just take the spin, Trin,” the devil's daughter called to her.

“Hurry up,” another anxious player prompted.

She sighed out laying the bottle down and spun it around, eyes locked on the glass that chose who she kissed. When it came to a stop, she saw it landed on the son of Artemis. Her fists turned to balls and teeth grit. Still, Trinity leaned over, tugged Theo towards her, grabbed him in place with a hand and closed the distance with a kiss, crushing her lips on his. In time, she pulled away and gave his cheek a 'playful' pat. Such a shame he was a face that she couldn't depend on.

Trinity returned to her spot by Mason and ran her fingers through her hair and released a sigh. “Well, next time I join something like this, don't let me.” She went for her own beer bottle but found it was empty again. “That’s my cue to go. Good luck, champ.”

She wasn’t sure things gleamed quite so bright and wicked as her own grin in that moment. She pivotted on her heel to bear witness to the participation of Trinity in spin the bottle and shot a glance to Elias. He didn't seem the overbearing brother type, but if Harley was drawn as the bad influence or something, she had to be ready to defend herself and make her claim.

Harley didn't have to wait drastically long for her dear dare to be complete to satisfactory as the bottle landed on Trinity and she went for gold like a trooper. Harleen's brow quirked up in surprise. She supposed she might have owed Wes an apology for that since he had some significant attachment with the blonde and in no circumstance was it easy to watch your person of interest lock lips with another.

But elsewhere, there was more entertainment that awaited her. More feathers to ruffle, more shows. It was a party right? So for her own sake of sanity, she needed to lighten to mood for herself and find amusement. A guy and modest girl were giving each other eyes and their bodies were drawing closer together. Harley made a bee line for them and breezed by as if she had places to be and the other end was compellingly intriguing. As she did, she reached around one-handed and squeezed the girl's butt. The daughter of a famous deity gasped, scowled and spun on her heels and left the boy standing there dumbfounded.

Harley chuckled to herself. “I’m not even sorry.” In fact she already felt better for it.

She took a seat in the sand and smiled watching the party. She could see herself liking it here.

“Uh... yes? Do you want something, or...?”

Her hand returned to her side. “Not at the present time,” Evelyn confessed easily. “I just thought to introduce myself formally. But if you were busy, and my presence is a nuisance I apologize for misreading the circumstances.”

Evelyn held McKenna's gaze, rooted in place. Of course, Eve acknowledged she could have been a nuisance but McKenna certainly wasn't busy and there weren't a great deal of compelling others to see and talk with tonight.

A few questions started to bubble to the surface with this intriguing young soul. “Do people often come to you for a favor?” she inquired. Since McKenna's first response was to assume Evelyn wanted something, she thought it was fair to ask. “Do you agree to them?” Then, she smiled slightly, ready to ask the most intriguing question of the night. “Do I look like somebody that wants or expects something from you?” Evelyn searched McKenna's eyes. She was sure the girl had no reason or restrain to lie, but she was curious to hear the youngest demigod's response. Maybe Evelyn appeared as venomous and using as a daughter of Hera. Or as deceptive as a child of Khione. The open floor of honest feedback would no doubt highlight her night, not to mention give her a better sense how she came off to others. Not that she was changing that any time soon.

“Can I get you a drink?” Evelyn shifted over to the coolers and rose her brows expectantly towards McKenna, prepared to dunk her hand into the lucky dip of drinks that were...what...90% beer. “Maybe something from home?” Eve challenged.

Image Duke joined the girls slowly and watched Evelyn's hand hang mid-air and return to her side without shake.

At this rate things might have been less awkward with the drunkards in spin the bottle. It was that unwelcoming he even thought about merging over towards that game. But he preferred not to kiss people under the circumstances that a bottle told him to. Besides, he wasn't sure if this was how Evelyn and McKenna talked to people or there was some underlying stand off thing going on. He preferred the first because then McKenna definitely had a friend in Eve.

Duke bit his tongue for now though, even when he found Eve's questions a little interrogative towards his sister. When she moved to the coolers, Duke took the opportunity to step towards McKenna. "Call me if you need anything." He knew McKenna could handle herself but Duke wanted to cover all basis. Drunks pushing beers in her hand, Evelyn pushing her temper were probably the most concerning at this point.

Duke approached the fire catching the tail end of Alex and Wes's conversation. "...make things awkward for them."
It sounded more like an intimate, private conversation so Duke kept walking, and frankly, finding heat wasn't ever an issue for him. For now he'd have to stay a little longer before calling it quits and returning to his cabin.

Image Mason tried not to snicker as it landed on Trinity. It looked like it took a while for things to click in place for her, but when it did, Trinity went for it. She didn't hesitate which probably knocked Lise's ego up a couple thousand notches. But even Mason was pretty impressed and if she had done the same to him and kissed him the same way, he'd have an inflated ego too. She hung there for an extra moment, flirting with the daughter of Athena. No that wasn't right...death threat?

“Al!” Trinity called.
"Don't call her over," Mason grumbled, rubbing his forehead. Even the concept of her rejoining, doing some stupid fake modest giggle about having to kiss someone, annoyed him. Or worse those over confident "seductive" smirks.

A few impatient heckles came her way and Trinity took the spin. When it landed on Theo, Mason peered at Trinity's expression and laughed. For a moment he was worried he'd have to grab Trinity when she pounced and attacked him and they'd have to make a hasty retreat but instead, she kissed him like she was going to war. His eyes widened and brows shot up. It was probably the first time Mason was envious of Theo. Like not knowing whether she was going to kill you or give you the best angry sex of your life...what a thrill.

Mason rolled out his neck. His eyes washed over the circle. If the son of Eris knew some sub-text, maybe he'd revel a little more in the drama or make some drama and chaos, or maybe he'd just keep undressing Mateo with his eyes. Mason's eyes landed on Adrianna and he couldn't help the small smirk that passed his lips. He was hopeful but pretty pessimistic about the odds of landing on her and while she was beautiful, he wasn't swept away in the idea of lust like so many others tonight.
Trinity shrunk back into her spot beside him causing him to turn back to her. “Well, next time I join something like this, don't let me.”
Mason laughed. "You did good, I'm honestly...blown away."
Trinity checked her beer. “That’s my cue to go. Good luck, champ.”
"I almost feel left out. Don’t you have something for me?" He tapped his lips as Lise had and laughed.

Boy he hoped Romeo saw Trinity and Theo kiss. Did children of Aphrodite even feel jealousy? His head shifted to Kalani curiously.
"Ani," he said, he thought he had heard people call her that before, "who's your favorite on camp so far? It's not a trick question either," he assured with an amused smile. He definitely didn't expect Kalani to say him, unless in a joking nature. "Just some...soul searching. An interval game, if you will."

“Not at the present time,” Evelyn replied easily - too easily. McKenna raised an eyebrow, but really, what else was to be expected from a daughter of Nemesis?

“I just thought to introduce myself formally," the redhead continued, “but if you were busy, and my presence is a nuisance I apologize for misreading the circumstances.”

Evelyn held McKenna's gaze confidently, unmoving. There was no way in hell she was going to leave - Evelyn knew McKenna wasn't busy, and that she hadn't misread the circumstances (although her presence was definitely a nuisance).

McKenna anticipated the questions, but that didn't mean she was looking forward to them. Dear, God... McKenna's eyebrows furrowed.

“Do people often come to you for a favor?” Evelyn started firing away. “Do you agree to them?” Evelyn had a slight smile on her face - yep, she was getting to the juicy bits. “Do I look like somebody that wants or expects something from you?” Evelyn made no move to hide her blatant searching in McKenna's eyes, gauging her response. McKenna raised an eyebrow, unfazed and unimpressed. She wasn't intimidated in the slightest, but McKenna being McKenna, she was going to give the redhead the truth nonetheless.

“Can I get you a drink?” Evelyn raised an eyebrow, reaching into the cooler that contained mainly beer. “Maybe something from home?”

It was at this point when Duke decided to step in, turning to McKenna. "Call me if you need anything," he said, letting her fend for herself. McKenna liked that about her half-brother.

McKenna kept a neutral expression on her face as she began to answer the redhead's questions. "Usually, people don't come to me at all," McKenna stated dryly. "I don't have friends, so if anyone were to approach me, they would probably want something. Like you; you want to know how I would respond to your really forward advances, and maybe you might find me abnormal and wonder, 'who the fuck is this person?'" McKenna eyed the daughter of Nemesis skeptically. "If you wanted to know, I do indeed find you nosy."

McKenna paused for a moment, assessing the drinks cooler, before continuing. "I highly doubt that you have any rakija in there," she said, leaving it at that.

Of course, McKenna only being fifteen years old with most of her Serbian life stuck in an orphanage, it was safe to say that she never had regular exposure to alcohol. But she has had rakija before (once, she thought), although it definitely wasn't the authentic, homemade type.

"Wait, what? No. You are not drinking. You're a child. Ohmigosh, you're seventeen. How can I let you drink? How can I answer to your parents?" Seung-min pouted at his friend, although he could clearly hear the barely held back laughter behind his stern facade.

"Everybody drinks before they're legal these days," Seung-min said dismissively (hey, it was true). He dramatically stroked his chin with a finger. "In fact, I can't believe I, at seventeen years old, haven't gotten drunk yet!"

Once they reached the campfire, Ji-hyun immediately headed towards the food, Seung-min following suit. The elder offered a plate of food to the auburn-haired Korean boy, who eyed it eagerly. "Here. Eat some food first, then later when you drink, drink as much water as alcohol so your headache won't be as bad. I'm not going to bring you soup and biscuits in the morning, I'm too lazy, so don't regret your decisions." Seung-min nodded robotically as Ji-hyun finished his spiel.

"Okay, hyung!" Seung-min beamed - it may have seemed like he wasn't paying attention, but Ji-hyun was fully aware of his eidetic memory anyway.

"Go forth and have fun, but I'll be watching you." Seung-min followed Ji-hyun's gaze, catching sight of the spin the bottle game currently taking place.

Seung-min chewed his lip slightly, tapping Ji-hyun on the shoulder. "Hyung...? I'm kinda being inconstant again, so I might go play spin the bottle instead of drinking." Seung-min grinned. "I'm really grateful for your educational speech on taking care of myself, but I might revert to kissing people instead of intaking alcohol." Seung-min stood on his toes to hug his friend from the back, before blowing him an exaggerated kiss as he headed to the spin the bottle game.

Seung-min arrived at the group with a grin, turning to Kalani, who seemed to be the ringleader. "Hey, guys!" he said brightly. "You don't mind if I join in a bit late, right?"

Trinity bumped her knee into Mason and bee-lined for another beer. But there was a new selection of bottles and plastic cups sitting on the bar. She looked around to see who would dive in and claim them as theirs and how she couldn't have any, etc. etc. but nobody did so she poured herself a shot, downed it, poured another and took it to go.

Someone grabbed her arm firmly enough to demand her attention and make her lose a step and bounce back, and frankly she wasn't in the mood to be touched or stopped. Trinity pulled herself up short of shoving them away when she saw it was Theo. The audacity of this guy.

"Hey, are you okay? And don't lie to me. I can see it. You know I've always been able to read it in your eyes." Yeah, it was probably those stupid cheat animal instincts. Internally, she groaned. It wasn't and she loved what Artemis and her children could do, especially the shapeshifting. It was her damn eyes. "Talk to me, Trin."

“A girl kisses you and you ask her what’s wrong?” she asked back to Theo half amused. She wasn't 'in' with dating and affectionate acts, but she felt that it was rough timing. “Kinda brutal.” 'Hey, are you okay because you can't really kiss if your life depended on it' But then her eyes searched his face with a moment's of genuine concern. She didn't bite him accidentally or grip him too hard did she? Trinity was upset with these hypothetical versions of the people she cared about but if she was going to hurt Theo, she best have done it right and deliberately.

After figuring that wasn't the case otherwise he probably would have said something about the kiss, not her well-being, she released a sigh. “I don't know Theo, it's stupid,” she confessed. It was unfair of her to be moody at him for something he hadn't done. He might do it but he certainly hadn't failed her yet. “Just...” her hands collapsed by her side, “would you save me? Cause I kinda have this image in my head that all my camp mates would sooner abandon me and let me bleed dry than you know...actually help me. I mean there's enough hate in the world so one less hateful person isn't exactly a big loss,” her gaze moved pass Theo and into blank space as she rambled, “and I'd probably live on purely out of spite anyway and take care of myself. But...” as her eyes shifted back to Theo, he was quite literally stolen away.

A dry laugh escaped her. “Am I being punked?” In what world was this shit okay. And when did Alex turn into a brunette bimbo. She was a bit flirty, adventurous, impulsive but Trinity didn't think that bad. Did Alex just have a thing for taking the guys Trinity liked. She spared a look to Wes then knocked back her second shot. She couldn't face him yet. Besides, wouldn't be long til some other person swept to Ken's side then probably started chatting him up.

As she moved to join Harley, some arms wrapped around her waist and seized her to their side. "I bet I could kiss you better."

“I bet you don’t and you don’t even try.” She threw her elbow into his ribs and kicked behind his knee cap in two fluid natural motions. He collapsed and yelled out a little louder than she would have liked and she hurriedly tried to quiet him. “Ssh. You're okay. Walk it off. Dick.”

She sighed out when she finally reached her darer, sitting by her, only facing the waves. “That was a disaster,” she concluded picking up Harley's drink and taking a sip. Trinity didn't even want to look back towards the party or see Wes because it'd probably tip her over the edge. Trinity had honestly rather had locked lips with her peers than talk to someone and fail at playing charming or just even talk to someone and lie that she tried. She sat there with a hand clutched roughly in her hair as that sunk in. Only you, Trinity. Only you. In her perfect world, the bottle span round and round, missed her until people called it a night or she could pretend to be tired and fatigued. But Lise blew that up in her face right off the bat. Trinity should have shifted to something more like an outer circle as if she was a mere spectator.

After some time of sitting by Harley and staring out into the vast water, Trinity stood up. “I'm going for a swim.” Maybe the waves could help erase the spin the bottle action and help her get a real sense of logic. The beach was such a carefree space after all. Well, the tide was. In there the only worries were whether she should go over or under a wave, if a wave was 'dumper', if she should try body surf it, and occasionally, in Australia, is there a shark in water as well? Even if the waves didn't serve the magical purposes Trinity was hoping for, they would cure the heat creeping across Trinity's skin and it looked inviting the entire time she was staring at it.

Harley was doing some bad lip reading and voice overs of what topic people were talking about and how. She never failed to amuse herself when in need but Trinity giving some guy a swift beat down was much better making Harley erupt into laughter. Some people didn't pay attention to heritages and did just not know how to approach a lady.

Harley watched Trinity head for her and smiled when she parked her butt beside her. “That was a disaster.”

She tilted her head sympathetically. At least she had done it. “I don't think Lise and Theo thought so. Disaster isn't the word that springs to my mind either. In fact what disastrous thing could happen to you?” The question hung in the air between them and wasn't answered for a long while. Trinity's silence was taken as nothing, exactly what Harley gathered. When you were the queen of pain, what did you have to fear, what could be so disastrous?

“I'm going for a swim.”

Harley squinted. “But it's night and really not that hot.” Harley looked over her shoulder towards the waves. “Tide's coming in, isn't it?” When she turned back around she found Trinity's clothes dumped on her other side. Harleen did a 360 and found Trinity's shape, unless conveniently, somebody else decided to go for a swim in the dark at the same time and had blonde hair from what the last glimpse of firelight showed. “Don't go too far,” she mumbled as the figure steadily got further away from the light and party and deeper into the ocean. “You forgot a towel,” she cooed just as uselessly.

She couldn't help but hover for some time. It felt totally against Harley's nature too. Rather than enjoy a party she was trying to keep her eyes on the Queen of Pain. Harley had to remember to lock in that nickname for Trinity when she came back as well. Harley quickly scanned the party once more taking note of the location of the children of Poseidon in case hazards occurred. The likelihood was slim but just in case. Couldn't be too careful and all that.

Harley trudged back to the fire. She had caught glimpse of a girl alone making sand castles but she certainly didn't seem lonely, and more content in her world. Part of Harley wished sandcastles could be that fun for her too. So she chose not to intrude on that activity and keep walking, up to the logs and beside Raven. “Hello lady and gent,” she greeted the pair she instead chose to intrude upon and took a seat on Raven's other side. “Good to see you both make an appearance. Even if parties aren't our particular scene and we don't feel festive.” Most parties were about energy and drinking but those two were happily situated in the same place since she had last seen them. Personally Harley could never achieve such an act.

"Usually, people don't come to me at all. I don't have friends, so if anyone were to approach me, they would probably want something. Like you; you want to know how I would respond to your really forward advances, and maybe you might find me abnormal and wonder, 'who the fuck is this person?'" Even with it all supposedly figured out, the youngest demigod eyed her like an ill motive was lurking at heart. "If you wanted to know, I do indeed find you nosy."

Evelyn let the young and fiery demigod have her say without interruption, she was entitled to her voice and opinion no matter how abrupt, and Evelyn had asked for it and of course she hadn't expected a pleasant review to depart the blonde's mouth. But she had provided the truth and with that, throughout their interaction thus far, evidence to why she didn't have friends. Still, Eve wasn't completely repelled from her yet.

After a moment of eyeing the coolers, McKenna had her response. "I highly doubt that you have any rakija in there."

While luck could be as good as witchcraft and Evelyn had prompted for something from the daughter of Hephaestus's home, she hunched rakija wasn't exactly juice or water. Evelyn couldn't draw out her company's exact age, although the way she acted pitted against the world or the people in it she could almost fool people she was older, Evelyn knew she was youthful and considered a minor in majority of lands across the globe. Besides, even if Evelyn was compelled to give her an alcoholic beverage, she had a big protective brother with eyes like a hawk.

She sighed slightly when it was her turn to speak again, pulling out a bottle of water for herself then sliding away from the cooler with the smallest gesture for McKenna to help herself to an improved range of drinks. If luck befitted her maybe she would find rakija. “I do have a habit of testing people but I wasn't testing you. I was merely interested in why you are the way you are so I chose to ask questions, but in future I'll walk on eggshells around you.” Personally, Evelyn didn't like to waste time tip-toeing around matters, however, she supposed more subtlety could have been implemented. Likewise, she assumed McKenna wouldn't mind her forward advances, but maybe she had misjudged her. “I didn't think sweet, kind smiles and words would do much for you,” she said picking up from her train of thought. “I wanted answers and I got them,” she pointed out evenly.

Evelyn took a sip from her bottle. “I have a great deal of respect for the children of Hephaestus. Engineers and smiths have a role on camp and the world. They're smart.” While the stone-hearted girl nearby did possess such smarts and intelligence, she didn't have all aspects covered to longevity. “My advice would be to make some friends. You'll need someone in your corner. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but some day. And don't worry, I don't expect it to be me,” Eve stated beating her to the punchline.

After this encounter it was more likely she'd acquire a special distaste for Evelyn.

DAUGHTER OF ZEUS

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
Hearing a plate being placed down on the coffee table beside her, Alex opened her eyes and lifted her head. Her brother had also set a mug of coffee down for her. He looked up at her as his hand let go of her mugs handle, a smile reaching his lips. Alex sighed as she pulled the jacket that covered her down so it rested against her lap. Freeing her arms, she leaned over, reaching for the plate that had a small tower of toast, covered in butter and strawberry jam. Thank God he didn't taunt her with greasy food. Her stomach felt sensitive. "Did you enjoy the party?" Ajax asked as he took a seat on the couch in front of her, not once forgetting that Andy was still upstairs. He looked up to those steps to see if she was on her way down as he heard movement.

"Oh my God.... Andy stayed the night didn't she?" she asked. She wasn't surprised, but she was happy they had finally gotten the chance to be closer. "Anyway, It was okay. I just decided to cheer up my best friend before heading home." She left the part out about Theo, but Ajax already knew about that. Still, he decided to leave it. "Big brother.... am I a monster for killing another demigod?"

"No," he told her instantly. "You want to know why?" Alex nodded, ready to listen. "Because you feel guilty. Monsters and murderers don't feel anything after killing, but you do. You acted wrongly, you made a mistake, but that was due to being crippled by so much pain that you lost yourself, Al. I know you better than anyone in this camp. You may have a short temper, but you are as gentle as a butterfly. They don't know you like I know you."

"Thank you, but I was scared that you, Wes, Andy and Duke wouldn't like me anymore... I'm pretty sure that Trinity no longer likes me. If she ever did. I'm even surprised that Theo still accepts me as a friend."

"It's because they knew you weren't yourself. No doubt Mason is brainwashing the others, but what you have to remember, is he's hurting too. Jenn was the only family he had. Hades only cares for himself."

Alex finished off her toast before wrapping her slightly cold hands around the warmth of the coffee filled mug as she sipped at it. Thinking about Mason. She put herself in his shoes. She could relate to how he felt, so she didn't blame him for wanting to kill her, but two wrongs would never make a right. Last year, Mason tried to strangle the air out of Alex's body, but that situation came to a quick end as everyone swooped in to stop him from a mistake he wouldn't regret, but a mistake nonetheless. Maybe she could grab Mason by himself somehow, speak directly to him with no one else around. A dangerous act, but Alex loved the daring nature of their daily lives at camp. It kept them feeling human. She also wanted to speak to Evelyn, get a second opinion from outside the circle, so to speak. Everyone close to her knew her, but Alex wanted judgment from those who knew little about her. Evelyn seemed like an intelligent woman.

For now, Alex decided to head out and do some light workout considering the staff members would be announcing their flag game later on during the day. She wanted to prepare herself mentally, and physically.

SON OF ZEUS

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
While Andy remained in his bed, Ajax headed downstairs. He flicked on the small table lamp by the bottom step, lighting up the lounge that connected to the kitchen. There, his little sister was, flat out in dreamland on their couch. He didn't wake her yet, so he headed to the kitchen and got started on making breakfast for his two special ladies. The only ladies in his life that he loved. Of course, the other women had been his mother and grandmother, but Alex and Andy were all he had left now. His friends included.

He gave Alex her breakfast first, stirring the sleeping princess from her slumber. Hearing footsteps, Alex gave him a questionable look. She watched his gaze look in the direction of the stairs, then back at her with a pleased and proud look on his face.

"Omg... Andy spent the night didn't she?" she sure had, and he didn't regret one second of it. He could have carried on bragging about the woman he fell in love with, but Alex needed him. She had found the moment to open up to him which he couldn't ignore. He couldn't go on about how amazing his night was. Ajax did his best to make her feel better and hoped with all his might that she would listen.

Emotions always got the best of Alex. For years he tried to teach her to be more hardened on the outside and in, defended by life's inevitable pains, but she remained gentle with a mix of her fiery, wild child nature; that even Ajax found hard to control. She was the wild storm that had managed to find it's calming point.

Just as Ajax was going to quickly return to Andy, she was already downstairs, but heading to the door. Ajax stood up. "Andy..." he called to her as she went to grab the doors handle. "...You were just going to leave without saying anything?" Alex felt an argument brewing, so she quickly left the room and headed to her room. She put on her training gear, and exited the house from her window to avoid her brother's drama with his girlfriend. "What, so you regret last night with me? is that it?"

Before leaving her room, she made sure to grab her gym bag, then climbed out of the window after that. Being outside in the fresh air was better than being cooped up inside. It was a sunny morning, birds singing, and the entire camp peaceful... almost. Alex could hear her brother's angry mumbled voice on the opposite side of the wall, so she broke into a jog, heading towards the center of the camp to do her morning workout there instead.

Once there, she climbed up onto a thick tree branch, and with her legs draped over it, she leaned back, hanging upside down of it before she began to lift herself over, and over to work out her entire body.

"I do have a habit of testing people," Evelyn openly admitted, causing McKenna to raise an eyebrow, "but I wasn't testing you. I was merely interested in why you are the way you are so I chose to ask questions, but in future I'll walk on eggshells around you. I didn't think sweet, kind smiles and words would do much for you." At least she had common sense. "I wanted answers and I got them."

"I'd do that too, if I were you," McKenna commented indifferently, avoiding the alcohol. She had to admit that she and her company were similar in that sense.

Evelyn lifted her bottle to her lips, taking a sip. "I have a great deal of respect for the children of Hephaestus. Engineers and smiths have a role on camp and the world. They're smart. My advice would be to make some friends. You'll need someone in your corner. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but some day. And don't worry, I don't expect it to be me,” the redhead stated, almost reading McKenna's mind. McKenna would never admit it, but she was mildly impressed. Evelyn knew just how to act around her and did just that. It wasn't everyday that something like that happened.

"I'll keep that in mind," McKenna replied neutrally. "I'm going back to the cabins; parties aren't my thing." McKenna started to saunter off to the Hephaestus cabin, before pausing and offering a "bye," - rather out of character, but McKenna supposed she could try out pleasantries.
-----

McKenna quietly walked towards her blacksmithing workshop, squinting as she attempted to actually see which way she was going. This was a regular thing for her; it wasn't even dawn, but metalworking was arduous work, and McKenna wanted to get a head start every morning.

Usually, McKenna's morning hours were occupied with sorting through her scrap pile and figuring out what the heck she could do with the stuff she threw in there. Today was no different. After all, she wanted to be productive, but at the same time, it was too early for intensive projects.

McKenna sat down at her desk, turning on the light so she could actually see her hands. She sighed, reaching into her scrap pile and picking up the massive and utterly deformed chuck of metal with a large number four labeled on it. McKenna always went in chronological order from the oldest fuckup to the newest; once a piece of metal was figured out, she would reuse the numbers, but that didn't mean she would go in number order.

McKenna flipped through her notebook, eyes scanning the clearly rushed but surprisingly neat Serbian scrawl. At last, she found the correct page, peering at the extensive list she at made.

Sterling silver (92.5% silver, 7.5% copper), McKenna began reciting in her mind, titanium, cast iron (4% carbon), zinc, cobalt, tungsten. The metals McKenna used in this particular piece were rather common and relatively easy to work with, especially in comparison to some other metals she had tried to put to good use. The metals weren't fully combined yet; she could still salvage some of the pure tungsten, along with the titanium and a bit of cobalt.

As the sun rose, McKenna melted a line between the salvageable metals and the swirled mess she couldn't identify. She successfully separated a large chuck of tungsten, melting it into one of her molds to later examine for its purity before saving it for later. She did the same to her titanium and cobalt, continuing the process with some of her other failed projects, throwing the metal chunks back into her scrap pile after the easy-to-extract pure metals were removed and melted.

Finally, McKenna took a deep breath, already used to the bad air of her workshop. She glanced at the clock in the corner of the room - she'd best be heading over to the mess hall by now.

By the time McKenna headed over for breakfast, most of the campers were already up and socializing with each other. She grabbed a plate, stacking on a slice of bread along with butter and jam, eggs, and sausages. She definitely wasn't looking forward to capture-the-flag; sure, McKenna knew that as a daughter of Hephaestus, her strength was something to be admired despite her small stature, but nonetheless, McKenna wasn't all too well-versed in combat. She preferred to work behind the scenes, using her inventions and wit to win her battles instead of physical combat.

Seung-min woke up to Exo's "Monster" - the Chinese version, not the Korean one - blaring through his ears. He himself was a bigger fan of Big Bang, if Seung-min were to be completely honest, but Exo wasn't bad at all. Besides, "Monster" (specifically the Chinese version) was the one song he and Lois consistently played during their few months of brooding.

Seung-min groaned, wildly slapping his hand around in attempt to stop the alarm. He constantly tried to get up earlier, but it was easier said than done. Seung-min really admired those people who could get up before dawn and be able to work; unfortunately, he was not one of them.

Seung-min yawned; he had finally managed to stop his alarm, but by that point, he spent so much time flailing that he had woken himself up too much to fall back asleep again. He muttered under his breath, attempting to get out of bed, only to have his legs tangled in the sheets and he tumbled to the ground.

"Ow..." he groaned, slamming a hand against his forehead. Seung-min attempted to wriggle out of his blankets, but only managed to get himself more tangled up. Damn. Seung-min was probably the only person on Earth who had so much trouble with his sheets.

To make things easier for himself, Seung-min teleported himself out of the tangled mess, grabbing his blanket and tossing it back on the bed. He paused for a few moments, before fixing up the blanket to make it neater before skipping towards his closet. He selected a casual outfit, finishing it off with one of his beloved bandanas.

Seung-min headed to the mess hall, piling on food on his plate, wolfing some of it down in the process. He made sure to grab an Cappuccino. Seung-min looked around the mess hall, before his eyes finally landed on a petite redhead. With his typical bright smile, he approached the woman and the table she was sitting at.

"Hey!" he greeted amicably, offering his boxy grin. "Mind if I join you?"

Atticus passed out in bed fully knowing what consequences lied before him the next day, so he wasn't surprised when his sister came into his room. He lazily laid there, too in love with his bed sheets to want to move right now but he was feeling a little pleased with himself. He was exhausted from the night before but only because he spent a big part of his day blessing a shield for a camper. This camper was also someone who Kit had his sights on for a while and that was because he had something Kit was after. Instead of attending the party like he should have, he sacrificed this event for a good cause and Eve would find out soon enough.

Speaking of which, she crossed her arms standing at the foot of Atticus's bed. “How’d you sleep?” Atticus turned over, half of the world coming into view as he slowly opened his eyes, adjusting to the light. "like a princess." He lazily grinned. Evelyn had made an effort to step out of her comfort zone by attending the bonfire, but also seize an opportunity to gather more sense of other demigod occupants, while Atticus didn't make an appearance. “I could have used you, you know I have terrible people skills,” she stated and sat on his bed. To some, she might have come off disapproving or angry but Evelyn merely preferred her half-brother there.

Kit couldn't help but feel a little guilty and sat up. With his messy hair perfectly covering his blind eye, Kit raised his arm and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. He was going to apologize but decided to let his sister speak instead, gladly being there to listen whenever. “I spoke with the youngest demigoddess and she must have punched and scorched me in her head at least ten times.” McKenna's dark gaze had burned into Evelyn's skull for most of the night so the image was pretty vivid in her head. Not that it was traumatic, more unpleasant. Atticus, on the other hand, rose an eyebrow at Eve. "Wait, what did you say?" He knew how his sister could come off to others sometimes so he didn't think it'd hurt to ask. Though, he did sound just a tad bit accusing towards Evelyn since he asked what she did instead of what happened.

Evelyn gave a heavy sigh reflecting on the night passed then looked at her brother who had begun to stretch the morning fatigue away. “I'll let you get changed then we can grab breakfast together. Deal?”

With a nod and a yawn, Atticus let his sister exit his room as he got up and dressed for the day. He rubbed the groggy feeling from his eyes and when he opened them again, the whole world came into view regularly. The blindness temporarily gone as he needed.

Atticus walked with Evelyn to the hall. It was already filling with campers as more of them greeted the morning from the night before. Seeing some with hangovers almost made him reviled he didn't attend. The gods only knew how well he'd handle a hangover himself, probably complaining to Eve that his head hurt every ten minutes. Shaking the thought from his head with a slight smile, Atticus escorted his sister to an empty table. Time to begin to make up for last night. He sat across from her but leaned in halfway smiling and his hands folded on the table. "So, what would my dear sister like to eat this morning?"

At first light Raven stirred in her bed, contemplating the thought of getting up but after hurting her eyes looking at the light coming in through her window, she decided against it, pulling the covers way over her head and getting in another hour of sleep before actually starting her day. Once she was up and dressed, Raven noticed that Dominik had gone off ahead. It wasn't really a surprise as the boy was usually up before her anyway but she'd catch up to him sooner or later. Her head faintly ached but it wasn't a hangover, more like lack of sleep, a feeling she was all too acquainted with.

She gave a rub at her temples then hung her hair in a comfortable ponytail. Not too tight or the ache would turn into a full-on headache and she wasn't down for it today. There were a few stretches, laps and pull-ups involved in her morning warm up but nothing she couldn't handle. After the exercise, Raven headed back to her cabin for a quick warm shower, the soft smell of honey clinging close behind her when she finished. The faint thumping of her temples was soothed a little but not completely. Only a cup of tea would cure it and with that thought in mind, she made her way to the hall.

It didn't take long at all to spot the faces she had seen last night at the bonfire or at least the ones she knew. Tea was on the brain though, sweet, delicious tea. Raven walked over to the coffee machine and had it dispense a cup of hot water instead by not adding any of the grounded coffee beans, to begin with. She reached over and grabbed a packet of oolong tea and dropped it into her cup. The tea bag instantly infused the water with its pleasant aroma and almost orange tint which brought a satisfied smile to her lips as she added the honey. After she had finished her preparations, Raven grabbed a nice juicy peach and turned around. She spotted Dom, her now more than likely destination, giving Harley a wave with a slight grin as she passed by.

When she approached Raven did her best not to seem awkward. Sitting across from him, she took a few sips of her tea before setting it down in front of her. She studied the cover of the book he was reading for a second. "The Iliad, huh? I didn't know you liked such books." She took a bite of her peach, trying to act natural. A bit nervous and a bit eager to talk to him, finally. "I have the Aethiopis, it's another good read if you like that one." Raven let Dom take his time to answer, there was no rush or pressure on her side, just genuine curiosity about the boy who sat across from her.

DAUGHTER OF ZEUS

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁
"I think there are some good looking females. I suppose the same could be said for the males of this year. Especially Theo, right?"

Alex took a quiet gasp as she widened her eyes a little. So he had seen her little drunk moment after all. She wasn't sure if he was just genuinely asking about it, or if seeing her with Theo had sparked a small part of him that didn't like it. Duke wasn't the jealous type, so it couldn't of been that.

Theo had turned her down which was a little bit of a shock. She wasn't Gods gift to men, but surely she was attractive enough. Probably nothing compared to the children of Aphrodite, but still attractive. "Please, don't mention it to Aj.. you know what he's like. I just had a little too many. Theo's a good guy, and good looking, but... he's a friend. I think kissing him would feel like kissing my brother. Totally awkward, weird, and gross." she hugs herself as she shudders at the thought of it for a split second.

Duke shrugged it off. "Anyway, most of my night was made of constructing a sand castle and making sure Evelyn and McKenna didn’t get into a fight. Not my first definition of enjoying myself but it was okay. Particularly the sand castle making part," he admitted with a faint smile.

That made sense since he enjoyed constructing magnificent things with just his bare hands. Alex smiled a little. That all sounded like a cute little moment between... friends? acquaintances? didn't really matter. Or did it? Alex didn't know anything about the girls he mentioned, though Alex had heard that Evelyn was the type of girl to be brutally honest. "Why were they close to fighting?" She frowned. "Glad you were there, though. You've always been good at defusing situations. Aj always looks up to you for advice, and I can see why." She smiled again.

As Duke placed a hand on the small of her back, her entire body melted to his fingertips as he walked with her to the dining area. He just knew exactly how and where to touch her without realizing. To him, it was a gentle gesture, but to Alex, it felt like he had the power to control the shock of electricity that shot through her entire body from that one simple touch. Alex pulled her hair away from the back of her warm neck so it all draped over her right shoulder as she hid behind it a little as her eyes watched where her feet were moving. "Not the greatest Camp party either, huh? I mean usually I'm not a big partyer as it is but I still know when one's mind-blowingly amazing and just good."

Alex laughed as she looked at him, her hand holding her hair around the one side of her neck as she kept walking to the dining area with him. "Maybe you should have asked me to dance."

Kalani offered a wave and Trinity twiddled her fingers in response. See, exhibit a. She was the perfect delightful little vegemite.

"You go from a deer in headlights at the thought of an official date... To wanting me to prep you to meet my family?"

She cringed at herself. “Was it that obvious?” She waved it off dismissively regardless. Her deer in headlights moment had faded. Hopefully.

"And for the record, my family only consists of Kalani and my father. Ani loves everyone... And my father? Well, he hates me, so he'd probably like you." Wes chuckled softly while Trinity's head cocked to the side curiously but still smiled. That didn't necessarily sound like a good thing since Wes had to live with him. Or certainly endure him in some form or the other.

“And your mum,” she said when there was no add on of Aphrodite. Trinity didn't know what part she played in Wesley's life but it still took two to tango and the Goddess was family.

Trinity awaited his…well…his command in a very real sense. "It doesn't quite work like that. I can't make you do anything. I can only give you a strong sense of love, devotion or obsession... Then anything beyond that is whatever your twisted little psyche decides."

“Learn something new,” Trinity noted, half-impressed and amused with her finger trapped in his hand. But his powers and love and whatnot were very much his domain so she couldn't exactly argue or prompt for it to work in a certain way.

"Plus, if people can't accept you for who you are, then they obviously don't deserve you as a friend. Because I think you're perfect the way you are." Ah, he said the p word. She should have figured he'd go for the just be yourself basis speech and it was hard for her to stop from rolling her eyes even as her head and heart soared. "But, if you really want me to do it... I will. But, you can't be mad at me if you don't like it or do something... Well, undesired."

“Have you tried it?” She quirked up a challenging brow. But she could hear his response to that already. "No, it won't work,"or, "yes, it didn't end well" which she'd then feel bad for. “Fine, fine. I get it. The power of passion is dangerous. Trinity stalked towards the hall. “How would the primitive daughter to the god of war possibly be able to cope with lust?” she ranted to herself through the kitchen and begrudgingly poured herself some cocoa puffs and milk in a bowl. Though it was for dramatic flare, Trinity couldn't help to infer some layer underneath, that he meant she particularly couldn't handle, love, devotion and obsession. Even when logic argued it applied to everyone.

“But you can point love and desire in a direction?” she said returning to open conversation with Wes. “That's how you made the giant chase those stonemen last year. So what if you...” It took one look at his right stump and she clamped her lips shut. Whatever the case, Wes only had control to an extent otherwise he woudn't have let that happen to his limb. And he preferred not to do it. Trinity sighed out then pressed her tongue to her cheek. Not because of Wes's decision and information but because she was exasperated with herself.

Perfect my ass. One day maybe she'd learn the art of shutting up. Trin then scanned the crowd and who to sit with. Andy was the first that popped out but Ajax would likely swoop in and bring a grin about her face. She felt very out of place with the lovebirds. Theo was there but could be counted as busy. Then there was Elias.

Trinity's body was already sinking slowly into the seat across from Andy, however. “Hey.” She smiled and shuffled over assuring plenty of room for Wes. “Where's company?” Trinity nodded to the vacant space next to Andy, no doubt in reference to golden boy.

"A magician never reveals his secrets, but if I might add the peachiness definitely makes it a bit easier". She chuckled. No doubt. Probably too easy. "If you'd like to see it in action however, I'd be more than happy to have you fetch me a glass of water." Her eyes widened and smile broke but before she could open her mouth to retort he laughed. "I'm just kidding, I've had enough fun this morning already".

She shook her head to herself with a grin. “You got me.”

To the feels of the party, he replied, "As much as I could. The damn thing ended before all the real fun would start. I guess I was a little let down, I expected a demigod party to be more exciting than the ones the frat boys throw on back home. Tell me, have you ever seen a nineteen year old boy take ten shots of vodka in a row, recite the Gettysburg address, and then jump through a window? It's more exciting than you think."

Harley laughed again, the picture he painted playing quite vividly in her head. She could imagine its entertainment “No doubt.”

"What about you? Everything you've ever hoped?"

“Oh, it's all a dream come true.” She rolled her eyes like the answer was obvious then gave a smirk of her own. “Well you pretty much said it. I seized what opportunities I could to pep up the night. It died premature. It was good for its drinks and a few snippets of entertainment then....poof. Gone. Party disbanded. But, I'm optimistic and hopeful for round two done right and to top any frat boy party experience.” Then she leaned forward, looking around to check they were in the clear as the next secret words of wisdom departed from her lips, “Also, just generally, if another game of spin the bottle occurs, you might want to be the spokesman to suggest not kissing like its kindergarten.” Harley beamed. Not that she had seen every kiss shared in the circle but from what she saw and due to the lack of commentary and commotion, she guessed it was pretty....G rated. Which was nice and sweet but for entertainment/party purposes it probably needed to offer a little more flare.

“Oh, not a stalker by the way,” she added with a quick throw up of her hands in surrender. “Just observant,” she said, the same time as her fingers touched her shoulders.

Harley took a bite of her toast finally, too caught up in story time to pay her breakfast the attention it deserved. “You heard the latest gossip on camp?” she inquired behind her hand. Harley stretched out a pause in case her company had some different and more juicy gossip to provide. “Capture the flag is happening today.” She waggled her brows. For the likes of Harley, there was nothing more invigorating than a competitive little game. For others it was probably something groan worthy. Particularly after a night of drinking. “I'm sure camp's version of capture the flag will exceed any expectation.”

Atticus walked her to the hall and led them to a vacant table. "So, what would my dear sister like to eat this morning?" Atticus offered.

Evelyn smirked figuring this was his version of redemption. “I won’t be forgiving you so easily,” she teased, “but since you're keen to be so kind I'll have porridge with sliced strawberries and banana.” Eve looked around at the others and their variety of meals. “And toast generously buttered, with eggs and bacon cooked to perfection, a little tub of yogurt and...” Eve stuttered as she couldn't even think of something for the extensive list to go on and she laughed. “I really would like some porridge, thanks Atti.”

She sat back and crossed her legs. Eventually they were going to have to talk about his absence at the party, unless the reason was transparent or would reveal itself sooner than later. But Eve figured she had been interrogative enough within 24hours, so instead offered up a confession of her own. In Kit's room he had asked what Evelyn said to get McKenna to mentally beat her though by the end of the night things looked slightly better. “I didn't say or do anything wrong last night,” Evelyn insisted to Atticus softly. “I was just a bit...forward with her. She's young, she's pretty, she has mental fortress walls around her.” Evelyn shrugged. “I was intrigued. I initially wanted her to know she had someone on her side funnily enough.” Funnily enough in this circumstance meaning poorly ironic again, Evelyn mused. Was that the only thing she could find humor in these days?

Her fingers drummed a gentle rhythm on the table. It was quite a thing to be misunderstood but she had long promised herself people could make their own conclusions on her. At least she had Kit who she gave a warm smile to. Luckily he was graced with a little more appropriate social ability even if trend suggested the eldest be gifted in that department instead.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT - ALARIC HART

ImageHe headed to the hall with a large bag over his shoulder prompting the camp attendees outside to follow him as he passed so he could make the announcement. Other staff patrolled the camp rounding the strays up or those that chose to slumber in their cabins.

Once he was burrowed in towards the back of the hall, he begun. "Excuse me." He cleared his throat. "Excuse me." Having little success to gain their focus that way, he whistled loudly, its sound easily carrying through the hall.
"Great. Now, it has come to my attention that the camp has been making ill on its promises to help harness and flourish your powers and provide exciting activity. So today, we play an extreme capture the flag. And yes it's mandatory that you participate. As elementary as that may sound, you need it. Welcome to camp. The teams will be split up in two.."

He cleared his throat and read from his list. "The Red Spartans: Alexandria, Andromeda, Dominick, McKenna, Ji-hyun, Sloane, Theo, Harleen, Finley, Atticus, Adrianna, Kalani, Elias, Nikoloas, Lise, Mason."

He looked up from his list expecting the groans to roll in but protesting would get them nowhere.

"The Blue Trojans: Ajax, Gwendolyn, Trinity, Wesley, Sylas, Annie, Seung-min, Emery, Dimitri, Duke, Keith, Isobel, Mateo, Areum, Raven and Evelyn."

"You die, you lose. You tap out, you lose. You get your color taken from you, you lose and come back to the hall and watch."
He dropped his bag with a grunt on a nearby table with a clatter. "Your colors are at your base. These are your weapons. You do not have to use a weapon, they will not be given to you. You can use your powers." He smirked a little. "Welcome to the Hunger Games." The reference to the gripping YA book probably went over at least half the camp attendants heads. Most didn't give reading the time of day, and those that did read probably didn't concern themselves with something so modernized, their noses either stuck in the air or buried in work of literature and ancient tales instead.
Alaric was mostly referring to the cornucopia aspect. The weapons would be scattered among the woods and there’s for the taking, most of which were right at the center of the woods, gleaming and beckoning to be taken in the crossfire.
The camp attendees could figure out for themselves that the pain they could experience would be no more than a phantom pain via the weapons, traps and beasts that the very gods themselves, and some demigods designed and helped set up.

It would be best to see them treat it as real as possible.

"Do not go for fatal blows on each other," he warned as the final and only rule. A demigod turning on another demigod that way was vicious and cruel, and Alaric as well as other staff had no tolerance for it. It had no place in their camp.
"There are currently some hostile beasts prowling the woods," he assured in case anyone was disheartened by the idea of no-fatality experience. However, their very jaws and beings were enchanted so when they clamped down on a demigod fatally, they'd be warped straight to the hall. "You have two minutes to get to the woods, get your colors on, hide your flag within these perimeters," he pointed to the map's red and blue colored area on opposite ends of each other -AKA their bases, "devise a plan and create a universal safe word if you have to."

"I hope you're all awake, because time starts now."

Image "No offense taken. But with similar respect, the same could be said of a Hades child."
It was refreshing to come across someone so wise and Mason nodded with the statement to show, likewise, no offense was taken. "But, you can rest assured when I give someone my word, I follow through," Sylas added taking another grape from his bowl. "And I don't scare easily. I'm not frightened of a little bit of lightening."
Mason found himself nodding again and shrugging. Many would claim so. Jenn wasn't scared of lightening but the psycho bitch cut her head off. If you weren't scared of lightening and submissive to the spawns of Zeus they were particularly hostile because you didn't spoon-feed their massive egos.

"I think allies would be a more appropriate term. Friends aren't really in my wheel house. And no, I don't expect you to just trust me. Trust and friendship is earned... Not freely given."
"That it is."
Giving Sylas another look over Mason guessed they wouldn't evolve to such a stage. Keeping things business or as strictly allies would fit them both best. Worry of each other likely wouldn't come into the picture until after the Valises were gone. But who knew what the future held.

"Well, I mean we could simply just corner one of them... Stab stab. Job's done." Thankfully his lack of enthusiasm demonstrated that was among the most plain ideas and not a real one. "That lacks... Creativity, for lack of a better term. Sure, death is the end goal but we don't want it to be swift and merciful. It's more satisfying destroying someone, breaking them down and ruining them, root and stem."
What did he think Mason was doing? In addition to waiting for the right moment to present itself, he was trying some behind the scenes works. But he liked that Sylas liked the slower route. It was a bit more of a gamble but if it was a job done right, it would be most rewarding.
"I don't know how devious you are... But, I liked the idea of turning everyone they love against them."
Mason actually threw his hands up in the air and gestured to the hall. "Thank you! Finally someone gets it! I know I'm pretty but I haven't been spending my time doing my hair and flossing my teeth and solely thinking of ways to kill them." Mason hadn't exactly been targeting people they love to turn against them either, for the sheer fact that he couldn't even stand to be in radius of a Valis worshiper and they were harder to convert.
Actually, Mason was doing little in truth. He was just being a bit more social and charming and Alex already did the murdering. Mason did have one good asset though, however that was more an ace up the sleeve for him.

After a long moment in thought with his tongue pressed to his cheek, he spoke again. "I wouldn't mind dying to make a point. Providing old Pops brings me back." The camp needed to see the monsters under the surface. That it wasn't a one off thing. Like Sylas he wanted to ruin and bury their reputations and ruin the trust fellow demigods mistakenly placed in them. And sure, just to make it really burn, make their world collapse, turn the people they love against them.

Then, a staff member paced through the hall capturing Mason's attention. As he could have guessed, he was on a mission. Once he gathered everybody's attention, he laid out the task ahead.

It was in moments like so where Mason really had to reflect on his life choices, or certainly the choice of returning to camp and not killing Zeus's kids. Now he was teamed up with the one he despised most of all. At first he was consumed in hatred and distaste but eventually it evolved to a glimpse of opportunity. Extreme capture the flag meant full contact. In this case, it meant letting the demigods run wild like animals. Mason glanced back to Sylas. "Is the boy next door facade still staying on in the heat of competition?" He smirked and got up. Now was the time to see what those twins were made of that so easily slipped under the radar.

His legs carried him there automatically and he was in another head space entirely, even as he wrapped the band around his arm. Except when he had to tune in on the team speech, Mason supposed that might have been important. Important to feign attention in anyway as winning or losing didn't really matter to him. How many rematches could happen down the track, and what did winning really prove? That you had a good team and the right players? That they were lucky? Mason crossed his arms and waited for any outgoing brains to take initiative.

ImageTwo minutes!? Duke paced off to what was temporarily known as the Blue Trojan's base. He wasn't going to hide the flag, leaving that duty instead to the likes of Ajax or better, Seung-min. He pulled a blue bandanna and wrapped it around his forearm.

Duke pressed his tongue to his cheek on his little over-eager team. The hype was good, but they needed a strategy implemented, especially when the opposing team had the likes of Lise and McKenna. "We need defenders, attackers and maybe a mid-field. We also need to consider our biggest threats. Harleen, she's quick, she's deft, you dont want your band taken off you without knowing you've even been touched. Likewise, Andy, military brat and witch, she'll be more confrontational and physical, keep your wits about you. Kalani can seduce you, stay focused. Adrianna, I've never seen her competitive side but I can guess she has one, and not to underestimate her."
He gestured to Mateo because the very same applied to him. Then again who wasn't a threat? He gave up. "Take out the Spartans brains, healers and manipulators first, then deal with the brutes. They probably think we're a confrontational side too, that we're going in with guns blazing, but let's try to be a little more subtle. Travel in pairs if you can. Not attached at the hip though."
If there was an ambush, he’d prefer one teammate to go down and not a collective of them.
"Wes, Raven, Dimitri, Isobel cover the middle, please." Together the four made a disarming pair, and a protective one too if they accessed the right emotions and triggers, and powers of course.
"Emery, Seung-min, Sylas and Evelyn, you're our secret weapons. Aim for the Spartan's flag. Avoid the heat of the battle if you can, use evasive or defensive techniques." The four could get creative. Their gifts and applications were always a surprise and they weren't the type that urged an immediate threat. "Ajax, Trinity; they'll be expecting us. Let's not disappoint." They were probably the renowned biggest war-heads. Without them near the front line of battle, the opposition would get suspicious about their presence.
"Daniel -uh, Keith, stay as a line of defense. Gwendolyn, I think you'd make a strong offense but it depends where you want to go, you'd know where you're best kept. Annie, I think we need you to press forward too. Look after our assault team and stun some opponents. If that makes you uncomfortable, stay back with Keith."
Duke looked between the remainder of Areum and Mateo. The demigods whose attitude he most struggled to grasp. Daniel needed some help in defense, but he felt their usefulness could be better spent elsewhere. In the middle as both offensive and defensive forces.

Then he caught himself, swept up in heat of the moment. "That's my suggestion anyway," he said so the more sensitive didn't kick up a fuss about him taking lead on a strategy or 'ordering them around'. After all, he was no child of Athena or son of Zeus. "Anybody else got an idea?"

ImageKeith tried not to be so evaluating and calculating of the new state of camp. It seemed to bustle with a few more energetic bodies than last year and definitely a few more brooding faces and vibes. He felt his heart sink in the knowledge that it'd be hard to make friends. There seemed so little room for the socially awkward and everybody else already had established their "clique".

Sometimes the camp could be exceptionally boring and dull, but that was something he simply had to endure like everyone else and hope the next day would be more rewarding. His degree of boredom would just be more though. His lips pressed in a line and he plucked out his earphones and shuffled through his phone for a tune that could ignite his soul. Keith smiled slightly when he found it. Some would argue it was a little too swaggerish for him but part of him really liked it and had a guilty pleasure listening to JT.

The son of Hecate traveled through camp territory for another year of learning and fighting evil, having to suppress the urge to walk in rhythmic bounces and pull some Michael Jackson move. He made his way to hall, typically the central congregation point of people, new and regular. That, plus some staff waved him over to and pointed to it.

Some larger species of male had bumped him. "Daniel," they said casually, but he was bowing to the ground to retrieve his glasses that were knocked down on impact. He carefully placed them back on the bridge of his nose, surprised to see the brute had actually taken to stop and staring. For a round two, he prayed not.
Keith slowly rose and for some time it seemed they just stared at each other. "I'm sorry," Keith said finally and spun on his heel to take an extended detour. It wasn't worth getting his teeth knocked out and he didn't want to cause any trouble. Keith had spent some time in the gym on his holidays and become a bit more solid in build, but it was nothing that girls would second look or enough to engage in a fist-fight confidently. The hall would still be there too. He wasn't missing anything.

When he slid into the hall an announcement was happening, and he shrunk into the wall then nestled into a corner and slowly pulled out his earplugs. An extreme mandatory capture the flag...what could go wrong. Inside, Keith wanted to die there and then or dissolve into a puddle. It was like high school P.E class and the untalented still had to participate even when no one really wanted them on the team, and they didn't really want to participate, and the teachers were the only ones that thought it was a good idea in the entire universe. He sighed out and was the first to exit the hall and make his way to blue base.

Duke started rattling off a plan, and while he was smart and confident and that was semi-contagious when it came to his plan, Keith was super insecure about being the last line of defense by guarding the base especially by his lonesome. That was enough pressure for him to develop a twitch and have a nervous breakdown. But externally, there was no more displayed than light levels of anxiety.

"You know, it's not like we're attached at the hip," Andy remarked quite sassily. And while they weren't, they did look to be having certain fun last night so she just especially figured..."It's complicated. I'll tell you about it after training."

Uh-oh. Trinity nodded understandingly.

"Sorry to interrupt. I've just got a quick question for you Trinity. You up for a run tomorrow morning? We're both here, and well just doesn't seem right to not know anything about my half sister, ya know?"

Part of her was compelled to jump right out of her seat and stand to attention for her half-brother but that might have been weird. “Hundred per cent,” Trinity assured with a nod and just as she was about to gesture for him to sit, a staff member strode into the Hall.

The more Alaric spoke, the more she was enthused. In days like so, Trinity admired camp for its lively and challenging nature. It had been what felt like forever since there was some ultimate challenge. And a team one at that. Something that tested them physically and mentally.

"Looks like I'll be seeing you all on the battle field."

"Yeah, she's stuck with me. Hell of a trade."

Trinity bumped her elbow into him and smiled. Then Andy snapped her fingers and was in battle gear. "Oh, shoot... You guys don't have armor. That sucks. Good luck guys. I hope, for your sakes, I don't come across you all on the battlefield."

Once she was out of sight and ear range, Trinity scowled. “Bloody witches.” Then her gaze flickered back to Elias. “Hope you bring your A game, champ. I honestly look forward to seeing what you can do.” Maybe Elias could mirror her own potential.

_______________________________________________________________

Trinity was so immersed in the plan of action by Duke, she felt his logic made sense providing you drew the lines and reasoning together for yourself. Granted, half of it probably would be improvised.

"Looks like I won't be your burden today Blondie. You're on offense... And I'm... Whatever the middle is." He gave her a nudge and chuckled.

She rolled her eyes playfully and bumped him back. “I'm bait, Wesley Preston and the middle is good.” Trinity spoke Duke's language. The middle could be offensive and defensive forces.

Also due to being immersed in all things war and winning, Daniel’s existence didn’t hit her radar until Wes appeared in her ear. "Uhhh... When did this happen? Does Andy know?"

Trinity looked around then saw the source and cocked her head. How subdued he was, the glasses…but that face! She couldn’t help but frown and stare. “He would have mentioned something if he had a twin, right?” Trinity glanced up to Wes questioningly then back to this Keith.

Slowly she tore her eyes away from him and back to the group as Sylas piped up. That's why he wants you behind the scenes, she rebutted in her head with a scowl. Then Ajax with the most disarming of statements. "I'll hang back, just in case any stragglers get through."

She waited for his change of heart but it didn't come. Trinity's eyes darted back to Duke, almost feeling guilty to announce her views now. “I'm happy to push forward as my primary role, and I will do it, but I'd also like to be a spare. Go where I'm needed you know.” Trinity gestured towards Wes with her head and grinned, immediately patting him on the back.

“Also, as a bit of a forewarning, some of the reds are equipped with light armor but even through armor there's weakness,” she assured her team. “And I know from experience a few of them like to take vantage points so it should go without saying but be mindful where you are.”

Trinity wrapped her color around her like a buckle then held another blue out for Wes. “Where do you want it?” As she tied it around him, Trinity spoke. “Seriously though, Wes, use your powers and be an ass because people won't give you the same mercy.” Trinity felt defeated even telling him that. He could be a stubborn one even when his moral code had no place on the battlefield. “If they're in red, they're the enemy,” she muttered aloud her own logic that probably did nothing to likes of Wes. She grabbed his chin. “Don't make me have to give you rage,” she teased. She just wanted him to look after himself to the best of his ability.

Before Trinity headed her separate ways from the team, Trinity grabbed Ajax’s shoulder but looked beyond him, painting the picture that they were talking no more than battle strategy or casual. “You okay, you seem kind of out of it?”
She asked lowly.

Evidently something was the matter but it just came down to whether he wanted to share or not. Trinity looked longingly to her calling of the vast vegetation that she had to travel to get to the Spartans base. “I got to go but...stand strong.”
Trinity rose a fist mid air then started covering the ground she lost.

An announcement had never filled her with such joy. Normally they were long winded, boring, or on the topic of an incident or welcoming speech but it was capture the flag along with the teams and guidelines.

“See ya on the flip side.”
She saluted to Mateo beaming, and without losing a beat headed to the Spartans base.

Once there, it was Theo that took the reins when she expected a plan to come from Alex or Lise. But the Son of Artemis..it was a nice curveball especially when he spoke such strategy and edge. Harley saluted when he gave her her role. She could definitely make heads spin. Now she was just itching to put that plan in effect alongside her teammates.

When they were all on the same page, Harley didn't waste time darting off and neither did Alex which she assumed would be her complementing pair. Harley had lost the brunette regrettably but no matter, Harley was quite capable of being an independent scout and she could always speed back and forth to tell their defensive line how things were looking or if she found that blue flag. Just then her foot landed on something and before the rope could seize her by the ankle she skipped out of it just in time.

Handsome director Alaric neglected to mention there were traps laying about. But Harley found it all the more exciting. She grinned wickedly and sped off to see what else she could find.

After smugly enjoying her specially made breakfast, a higher member of camp entered the hall and took over the show. Unfortunately a dreadful announcement came from such a handsome face. However, it did spike her intrigue.

_____________________________________________________________

Any feeling of content, peace, even the mundane and boredom was erased in seconds as she lay eyes on a particular male with glasses. Evelyn felt like time stopped around her, there was no air, no space, everything seemed to drop, including her heart. It wasn't because he was good looking, though he was a fine specimen, but it was her instincts that plummeted and knotted at the same time.

Evelyn restrained herself from approaching him however, it was too hard to identify what her instincts were alerting her to. It wasn't bad like when she locked eyes with Eris's son and Hades child, but it was unsettling. Evelyn would remain at distance to observe him some more for now, who he mingled with or who approached him and gain more of a sense from there. She wasn't dumb enough to walk into the void of the unknowing. Besides, the game required her attention and Duke wanted her as a secret weapon. To become and serve as a shadow player. So that is what she would do.

Only after she voiced her own idea for an edge. “Can we join hands for a moment or touch? It’s not to pray, I promise you.”

Evelyn touched the closest team members on their upper arms. Those that did link up were so rewarded with heightened senses aside from touch and taste. She found when those senses were manipulated it made people paranoid or in a state of awe, it served as only a distraction and presently they needed focus. With their hearing, sight and smell peaked they could be more attuned to danger. Building on what Trinity informed them to - the armor and vantage points, it seemed they could use it.

“I don’t know much about war strategy but I think we have a strong team to use misdirection to our advantage.” Evelyn wasn't exactly sure what she could do yet, but in the moment, she had a feeling she'd know how to tip the scales in the blues favor.

Once the meeting of sorts was adjourned she trudged her way out wide.

Emery had no idea why Theo had needed her to act as go-between. It was clear that Gwen found him cute, and they seemed to be getting along well, if a little nervous. She let Theo slap her on the back without any complaint, then busied herself finishing the rest of her breakfast, tuning out from their conversation.

A piercing whistle pulled her from her own thoughts, and she raised her head, fixing her attention on Alaric as he announced the teams for capture the flag. Emery grinned brightly when the list of the Trojans was read out, holding her hand up to Gwen for a high five. "I hope you're all awake, because time starts now."

"Sweet! Sorry you're not with us, Theo." She turned to her brother, turning her deer-in-the-headlights look up to ten. "Take it easy on us, okay? Then we can kick your ass faster." Just as quickly, the wide-eyed look disappeared, replaced by a wicked grin. "Come on, Gwen!"

After depositing her used cutlery at the collection point, Emery joined the rest of the Trojans at their base, grabbing a blue bandanna and tying it around her wrist as she listened to Duke plan a strategy. "Emery, Seung-min, Sylas, and Evelyn, you're our secret weapons. Aim for the Spartans' flag. Avoid of the heat of the battle if you can, use evasive or defensive techniques."

She had no complaint with that - it was a fairly sound strategy, given what they were working with. Looking around at the other three, she thought they'd be pretty good at their assigned roles. Maybe she could ask Sylas if he wanted to pair up, they could have each other's back - "I believe I belong on the front lines with you, Trinity and Ajax." Well, there went her plans. Emery frowned to herself. Given his abilities, maybe he wouldn't be the best at the front - he didn't seem as physically able as either of the frontliners.

But that was his choice, she supposed. Turning to Gwen, she touched her friend lightly on the arm to get her attention. "Hey. Guess I'll be seeing you later. Hopefully when we're standing victorious over the Spartans' slain and defeated number.." Smiling to show she was only joking, Emery moved to stand near Evelyn, just as the redhead spoke up requesting physical contact. Figuring it couldn't hurt, Emery reached out to hold Evelyn's hand, making note of how everything seemed a little brighter and clearer.

Then Evelyn left on her own, which meant only Emery and Seung-min remained. Come to think of it, a Hermes kid could be helpful to her too.

"Do you want to pair up? If you can transport people we could move fairly quickly - and I'm good with a weapon so I could cover you. Provided we find any weapons." She paused. Her fingers itched to curl around a knife or bow. She'd even settle for a makeshift spear. And therein lay her weakness - while still adept at physical combat, she wouldn't really be working at her best without a weapon. "Well. Even if I can't get one, I can heal and I'm good at tracking. It might not be hard to find their flag if we can look at how they're defending and find the center. And be fast, of course."

She began heading towards the woods, walking backwards so she was still facing Seung-min. "So what say you and I get out of this place and go defeat some demigods?"

Some hours later Ji-hyun finally deigned it time to roll out of bed and swap his clothes out for a much more practical outfit, reluctantly folding his overlarge sweater and leaving it at the foot of his bed. It was so soft, and so warm. The woods would be awful.

Just as he'd pulled his shirt over his head, a light tap came at the door. He reached out and opened it, tugging his shirt down over his stomach.

"Areum! Good morning."

It was weird, having a sister. Ji-hyun's experiences with siblings were formed with his brother, all teasing jibes and throwing things at each other's head. Usually they were rougher with each other - looking at Areum all dainty, Ji-hyun supposed she probably wasn't expecting any of the same treatment.

Upon remembering his brother, a small stab of pain shot through his chest. Ji-ha would have loved having a sister, another sibling to love and take care of.

Ji-hyun put that thought away carefully. It wouldn't help to dwell on the past, and anyway here Areum was, right now.

"Are you going down to breakfast? Thanks for coming to get me." He shut the door behind him, stepping out into the sunlight. Already it was irritating, too warm and too dry outside, and he could imagine it would only get worse as the day progressed.

He didn't say much as they walked down to the dining hall, trying to let Areum have the space to talk. Once they'd reached the hall, he pulled out a chair for her. "I'll grab some food for us, what do you want to eat?" he offered. His breakfast was simple, the same thing he ate almost every morning since arriving at camp - an omelette, a croissant, and a strong cup of tea.

Placing the food gently on the table, he slid in opposite Areum. "So how are you finding camp so far? I'd wager we don't experience it the same way, say, Ares or Zeus kids do. All this running around and mock battling." He rolled his eyes, exaggerating the expression. It wasn't really a complaint. He wasn't suffering, and if some physical activity was what he had to do to find people like him... it was a trade he didn't mind so much.

And speaking of people like him... "What are the odds we're both Korean, huh? Come this far, join a camp of people with different godly heritage - and it turns out there's a whole handful of us from the same home country." He chuckled dryly. The difference was, she was a rich kid from the city, and he was just an orphan from the countryside, barely able to care for his remaining relative. "Do you miss home?"

Having finished his breakfast as he listened to Areum, he tilted the almost-empty teacup this way and that, offering it to his sister. "Shall I read your fortune? It's a little party trick I've been practicing."

Before he could follow through with the offer, though, a camp facilitator entered and began rattling off a list of teams and rules. Ji-hyun groaned quietly, smiling as he set the cup down. "They've set us on different teams, huh? Well. I hope we don't have to engage each other in combat anytime soon. Have fun." So saying, he reached out to touch the back of Areum's hand gently, then left to join his team.

Listening to strategies being shared around, he began to get an idea of what he had to do. Defense wasn't such a bad position, and he could use his abilities that way too. "I might have some trouble holding my own against Ajax or Trinity, but I could suggest that they take it easy on us, if they get too close. And the beasts can't harm us if they're asleep." He held up a hand and wiggled his fingers, surprising himself by grinning wickedly. "Kalani, I think I could help you with that."

Image Andy grabbed him, gave him some armor and pretty soon they were off to the planning phase. Andy, Theo and himself all had the same idea for him, basically being to flank and use the shadows to his advantage so at least they didn't expect anything outrageous of him. In turn, Mason repaid their non-stupid ideas with silence, unlike Alex. "Couldn't have said it any better." Mason glanced to Andy and rolled his eyes. Everything she said and did was punchable and irritating, other people had to see that. "I just want to add. No doubt others will want to take out the beasts, but we could use them couldn't we? Mason, he could tame the beasts, or would that be considered as cheating? I mean, Alaric did say we can use our powers."
She wasn't speaking directly to him, more about and around him. But he doubted someone would speak on his behalf. "Let's not pretend cheating matters to you,"
he remarked coldly.
"I mean, I could always help with that?" Kalani offered. "Since I'm pretty sure my abilities would come in handy to get them onside. Just a thought."
With great willpower he closed his eyes and replied as civilly as possible, "And I can try. We can try," he said pointing between Kalani and himself. He'd just have to have the unpleasant experience of encountering one first.

"Let's go." He gestured for Andy. Before they split up, her charging into battle and him slinking into the shadows, he decided to make conversation. "So what happened last night huh?" He saw the couple dancing and being all cute and loving, then they disappeared together for the night so he could draw the lines. Then again, he decided he didn’t need to hear it or be directly lied to. "You know, I actually had a little more faith in you. What’s worse is you’re supposed to be better than that. You know what he’s done, where he’s been but you act like a little teen girl with no self control. I mean what’d he do? Blow in your ear, tell you he loves you? If I wanted to conquer someone in the sac, I’d do that too, Andy!" He didn't even know he was biting back on the whole matter for so long until it exploded out of him like that. It wasn't even frustration alone but it was laced with disappointment. Any time he grew hope...

Honestly it was hard for him to even look at her. He really thought she had more brains than to give into a moment's desire. Mason put a hand in the air. "You know what, fuck this." Mason marched off and the pitch black enveloped him.

His pace gained him some ground and just when he was about to rip off his band, he heard some twigs snap and Mason looked up and saw Alex alone confronting two dog-like creatures with her hands up. While it wasn't the chance, it was a chance. Mason emerged from the shadow, and placed his hands on both the dogs flanks. They growled and spat at first at the contact but then he had them on his side. For a moment he stared at Alex. "Sic' her boys," he ordered, sending the beasts charging forward at Alex.

ImageHis teammates weren't exactly cosy with him, in fact they stared like he was some apparition or ghost or something. Basically the last person on earth they expected to see in their plane of existence. It made him feel uncomfortable, swallowing the lump in his throat then innocently trying to offer a smile but he was still the first to look away again.

Staring competitions weren't his cup of tea and when it came from a few different angles, it was a hard game to win or to even engage in. Thankfully a voice from the side emerged serving as a distraction."Hey- Will you be alright guarding on your own? I can hang back with you if you like, not that I'll be much help on the, ah, defence front." Then a warm smile graced her features. "I'm Annie, by the way."
"Oh, thank you," he answered. For taking initiative to introduce herself and for offering to hang back with him he supposed and being genuinely kind and considerate. Soon realizing that wasn't conversational or really answered her question, he added, "I'm Keith. But you already knew that cause..." Keith tried to grin at his foolishness but he wanted to die. "I'm sure I'll manage guard duty. I mean if things get bad people will just fall back and help defend anyway, right?"

“Also, as a bit of a forewarning, some of the reds are equipped with light armor but even through armor there's weakness,” Trinity told the team just as he was able to feign confidence.
Keith's shoulders slumped. "Great." Nonetheless he looked back to Annie and smiled reassuringly.

“Can we join hands for a moment or touch? It’s not to pray, I promise you,” a red head concluded. Keith frowned but drifted over to link up with his teammates. Whatever she did, Keith felt better. Like every color and shape was way more defined and vibrant, he could smell the woods. He inhaled deeply then came out of his daze as she spoke again. “I don’t know much about war strategy but I think we have a strong team to use misdirection to our advantage.”
"Misdirection," he heard himself echo. It felt like there was sense in the world again. "I can do that." Keith didn’t have to be a brute force, just think outside the box a little. And if Duke only mentioned him as defense, well...that was a hella a lot of faith from a logical person. Surely it was in him to think out the box.

He rubbed his hands together as if warming up his magic. He had this. Plus according to Duke's plan there was a whole first line of defense pushed forward before anyone got to him.

Image His idea had a few protests or additional ones, or even additional tips/warnings from the likes of Trinity, but at least everyone addressed it with a certain respect. He was just afraid they weren't broadening their horizons or saw their own potential, instead choosing to play something more comfortable. Comfort and confidence were important to an extent but it didn't leave much room for development. And for something like capture the flag and victory, it was essential the team knew how to link up, but within moments he could tell that wouldn't quite be the case. Without training with each other for weeks at least, it would be impossible to have that team connection; know each other's limits and capabilities.

Evelyn suggested they gather which was odd to say the least so out of the blue but Duke obeyed and shifted into range of the girl and felt better for it. Then she threw in her extra two cents by saying they had the team for misdirection to be an advantage.
They did and could but that was up to how the team played to decide that. No matter, Duke nodded to them. "Okay guys, do what you will. You essentially know you best."

His eyes finally flickered to Ajax's sternly. "Hang back in case stragglers get through" he had said. It was a good excuse, but not himself. With all there was to say already said, he marched off, gesturing for the team to move out too. Duke didn't get anywhere in a hurry, instead, he moved at a pace that lingered for Trinity who caught up in no time and he saw previously having words with Ajax. "Is he okay?" Duke checked. He gave her a moment to answer before offering a bright side. "It's probably good that we raise a bit of suspicion. Cause a bit of doubt among the Spartans." Ajax's lack of attendance may have brought that about but probably needed reinforcing. And Sylas in the first line of attack would also be a contributing factor. "Split up. Then they wont know who's coming for them or at what angle. But hit before our flank can be exposed. Keep them busy. I won't be too far."

Wes found it hard not to stare at this... Keith. Who was he? Obviously, he was no Daniel. Everything about him, from what he could tell, was the opposite of what Daniel was. Wes didn't know him as well as some of the others, but he knew enough to know something was off. He shifted uncomfortably where he stood, pursing his lips in thought. He could only hope this interesting development reached Andy at a more opportune moment. Maybe she'd be lucky enough to first hear it from Trinity's lips, instead of discovering it on her own.

And speaking of Trinity. “He would have mentioned something if he had a twin, right?”

Wes rubbed the back of his neck, then sighed. "I think you should warn her," he cleared his throat before continuing. "Andy... That's if she doesn't run into him on the battlefield."

He remained quiet and attentive listening to the rest of the battle plan. It all seemed like sound logic in his opinion, but he doesn't particular have a mind for battle strategy. Hopefully, Wes could just hold his ground with whomever... Or, whatever crossed his path. There might be a small handful of people at the camp that he could take on, but that wasn't promising. Part of him wished he could be the one to capture the other teams flag. It definitely put him under a new light, instead of the Aphrodite kid that lost his arm in the war last year. Not that Wes was ever a force to be reckoned with in the first place, but he liked the idea... Even if he knew it wouldn't happen.

“Where do you want it?”

Wes' attention was brought back to the blonde beside him. He then glanced about himself trying to figure out the best place to put those. With one hand, his wrist wouldn't be the most practical place. His hand grabbed the hem of his shirt, while his index finger tapped his belt loop. Once she fastened it for him, he smiled slightly. "Thanks."

“Seriously though, Wes, use your powers and be an ass because people won't give you the same mercy.” He looked around at the other members of their team as Trinity tried to give Wes a pep talk. He knew this all was practice to prepare them all for real battle, but these were all their friends, companions and comrades. He exhaled deeply through his nose. “If they're in red, they're the enemy,” she added.

He sighed, with a slight smirk and a roll of his eyes. "I'm battle inept, not color blind."

Trin then grabbed his chin, forcing him to look down at her. “Don't make me have to give you rage,” she teased.

Wes subconsciously leaned his head into her touch, just a little. He gave her a final nod. "Yes ma'am," he replied before she walked away to talk to Ajax.

He stood there for a minute, his hand mindlessly tugging and adjusting his colors that were attached to his belt loop. Finally, Wes walked over to the bag of weapons Alaric left on the table for them. He stared down at what was left, trying to decide what to grab. He only had one arm, after all, which limited what he could carry and accomplish. Wes wasn't much of a fighter, so defense was always the best strategy but he still needed something incase he came upon one of the monsters out there. He sifted through the bag until he found a shield with a strap, that allowed him to wear it over his back similar to a backpack. With his hand free, he snatched up a spear, remembering he was somewhat decent with one against the Hydra last year.

With no more time to waste, Wes took a deep breath and headed out into the thick of things. He started out through the woods, making sure to branch out from the others. He moved in a forward direction, in what he could only hope was toward the other team's flag. After a minute or so of walking, he found himself in the thicket of the woods. Of course, he couldn't stay out in the open. Someone like Andy or Alex would be on him in the blink of the eye if he was openly visible. So he needed to be somewhere that he could see everything, where he could be mildly camouflaged.

He found a large evergreen tree, and slowly walked up to its truck. From only a few feet away the stalk of the tree is hidden behind the pine needles, but once under it you could see all the way up to the top. Wes sighed, slipping the spear between his back and the shield. "You can climb a tree with one hand," he muttered quietly to himself reassuringly as he wiped his palm off on his jeans.

It wasn't the most graceful thing ever, but Wes managed to ascend the tree. It took a couple slips and broken branches to fully get the swing of something so simple, that usually called for all four appendages. Once he was high enough up, he could see far enough back to their own flag, and forward to what he could presume was either the middle, or just beyond. He adjusted himself on the branch until he was steady enough to allow movement without throwing off his balance. His fingers then snapped a couple small twigs to allow for better visibility without removing his camouflage.

Then he waited. At least up high, Wes was out of reach of most monsters. He was at a good height to where he could jump down to help a team mate, or stop an opponent... Or try at least.

As Theo talked, assigning a plan of attack and defense for them, Andy did her best to make her rounds to her fellow teammates. Each one she gave a gentle tap on the shoulder, giving them some basic, light weight leather armor and such. It wasn't so much for going against the other campers, but for the monsters. She wasn't exactly sure what they would come across in the wounds, but a little extra protection never hurt any body.

She returned to Mason's side just as Theo finished. To no surprise, herself and Mason would be attackers. It made sense, and honestly, Andy would probably go crazy if she was told to stand around and play defense. She wasn't, by any means, a defensive player. Her mind was hard wired to attack, attack, attack. Luckily as well, Theo's mind was where hers was in the scheme of partnering up. That always seemed to be a strong strategy, especially when the two had varying abilities and skills which made them strong compliments.

"Couldn't have said it any better," Alex chimed in, catching Andy's attention. "I just want to add. No doubt others will want to take out the beasts, but we could use them couldn't we? Mason." Andy shifted uncomfortably where she stood, but only slightly. Something about actually hearing Alex say his name heightened her senses. Ever since everything that happened last year, she could't help but get tense whenever whenever Ajax or Alex mention Mason, or vice versa. "He could tame the beasts, or would that be considered as cheating? I mean, Alaric did say we can use our powers."

"Let's not pretend cheating matters to you," Mason replied coldly.

Andy parted her lips to reply, but thankfully Kalani chimed in in her own chipper way that quickly changed the tone. "I mean, I could always help with that? Since I'm pretty sure my abilities would come in handy to get them onside. Just a thought."

"And I can try. We can try," Mason added.

Andy nodded her head in acknowledgement. "I think that's a good idea. I can conjure up cages and help distract or corral them. I'd rather not kill them unless absolutely necessary. Mason was able to calm a minotaur last year," she added while motioning her hand toward him. "And Wes was able to make giants chase after their own kind of out obsession. Your powers could be really useful, Kalani." Andy smiled toward her.

"I could help Dominick and Finn, I can help heal wounds if they need, or blind enemies if they need that advantage....but if you need me to help follow the others and keep their wounds clear I can help," Nik offered.

Andy looked over toward Theo who was already partnering up and planning his strategy with Elias. And Alex was gone almost instantly. So, she took a step toward Nik with a smile. "I think defense is perfect. If anyone gets hurt, we'll have them retreat back to the flag. If things get... Intense, I'll shoot up a flare or something." She smiled, giving him a pat on the shoulder before she returned back to Mason.

"Let's go." Mason gestured toward her and she hurried to his side. As they started into the wood, her right hand hovered around her throwing knives while her left was slightly extended before her, ready to use magic at a moment's notice. They hadn't been walking for long when Mason spoke up. "So what happened last night huh?" His words took her by surprise, causing Andy to nearly trip over her own feet. This was probably the worst time for small talk, especially about that. Her heart began to pound in her chest as she swallowed hard, looking over at him.

"You know, I actually had a little more faith in you. What’s worse is you’re supposed to be better than that. You know what he’s done, where he’s been but you act like a little teen girl with no self control. I mean what’d he do? Blow in your ear, tell you he loves you? If I wanted to conquer someone in the sac, I’d do that too, Andy!"

Andy froze where she stood, her mouth a gape as the true sting of his words hit her like a knife in the gut. Part of her wanted to just walk away and not humor whatever Mason decided to be mad at her about this time. Part of her wanted to defend herself. And another part wanted to punch him. She could feel the anger boiling up in her, the anger and the pain. Her emotions have been so raw and unfiltered since the new year and camp. She found it more and more difficult to sensor herself or suppress her anger.

But she couldn't stop herself before the words fell from her lips like poison. "Conquer me? Is that what I am? A conquest?" Andy could feel the tears stinging her eyes when she finally spoke. "Well, which is it Mason? Am I supposed to be a virgin saint or a conquest?" She stepped in front of him, making direct and unwavering eye contact. "What fucking right do you have to judge me?" Andy jabbed her index finger in the air toward him with each word.

She took a deep breath as a silent tear ran down her cheek as she searched his face for an answer. Mason was supposed to be her best friend, yet he judged her and got mad at her every turn she made. There was no way to win. "Where in the hell is this coming from!? Why do you even—" Then Andy froze, the realization hitting her over the head like a baseball bat. Jealousy. She exhaled a sharp breath and sniffled back the tears. "Gods, do you know how hard it is to tell how you feel about me? If you hate or love me? You are always mad at me. Nothing I do is good enough for you. You don't trust me. And you talk down to me as if it's only a matter of time before I turn against you and leave you!"

Andy took a step toward him, trying to lower her voice to not give away their location. But, in the same breath the deeper in anger she fell, the more vulnerable she became and the more truths came out. "I have never betrayed you and I won't. I care so much about you, Mason. I love you. You are one of the most important people to me... and you don't even care." Her hands fell to her sides as she shrugged, exasperated. "I guess you have your answer then, don't you? Maybe if you learned to trust me and open up to me..." her voice trailed off. It'd be you, not Ajax. Her eyes fell. She didn't need to say it.

"You know what, fuck this." He put his hand in the air out of frustration, then turned and left in a cloud of smoke.

Andy nodded her head, tucking her lips between her teeth as she nodded her head. She took in a shaky breath, raising her hands to wipe her eyes, but they froze as they covered her face. She just wanted to melt where she stood. Right then and there, she had half a mind to rip off her colors and storm off. She could get pretty far away before anyone noticed she left. Her fingers pinched the fabric of her colors as she looked down at it. Just as she was about to tear it free she heard footsteps approaching from behind and a deep guttural growl rumble in the foliage to her left.

"I'll hang back, just in case any stragglers get through."

Sylas quirked a brow at the comment. He didn't have to know Ajax well to know that it was out of character. From the stories he'd heard about Mr. Perfect-pants, he was always one of the first people to charge into battle right alongside his warrior woman that Mason was secretly lusting after. Yet, here stood the mighty Ajax himself, opting to stay back to take care of stragglers? Pathetic. This was the guy that all these campers looked up to? A man who out of no where loses his courage and pusses out? Of course, now this meant Sylas wouldn't be fighting alongside him during capture the flag. But, with the right about of leverage it could be the pinnacle catalyst to cause a turning point in power at this retched camp. Small moments like these cause a snow ball effect.

"Can we join hands for a moment or touch? It’s not to pray, I promise you.” He glanced over at the redhead, and at first he was apprehensive. But, regardless if he desired to or not, he had to keep up the pretenses. So, he extended his right hand and placed it on the shoulder of the person closest to him. Then like a wave that washed over him, his senses were heightened almost like a drug but without the crash.

Sylas went over to the provided weapons, glancing over the options. Unlike most of the others, he went for a more subtle, underestimated piece. A sword that looked similar to a pirate's or a fencing sword. Small, thin but light weight. It didn't look like it could do much damage, but a cut in the right place is always deadly. Unlike more common swords, one like this is light which makes for quicker and more agile movements. Speed is always crucial in battle.

With weapon in hand, Sylas walked over to Duke and Ajax just as Trinity headed off in one direction. "I guess I'll take the left side," he said while pointing his hand in the direction he intended on traveling. His gaze drifted over toward Ajax. "If you change your mind, just follow the West side of the forest. I'm going to try and flank." He gave them both a pat on the shoulder before he disappeared into the thick of the woods.

It seemed, so far, luck was on Sylas' side as he traveled through the trees with haste. He hadn't come across any of the beasts, although he heard a couple in the distance as they broke twigs under foot or started their pursuit of another camper. On occasion, he'd see a brief glimpse of a Spartan zipping through the tree line, heading in the opposite direction toward his team's flag. But he ignored it. Ajax was there to take care of stragglers after all. And if he failed? Well, wouldn't that be an interesting development.

Sylas' footsteps slowed when he heard two voices in the direction he approached. He came up behind a boulder, slowly and cautiously leaning his head around the large object. His gaze was met by the sight of Mason and the back of a brunette's head. Due to the fact Mason wasn't trying to kill the girl, he could only assume it was Andy. Making sure he was out of sight, he held his hand in Andy's direction and closed his eyes. Instead of feelings of anger, he let despair, worthlessness and dread flow from himself and into the woman. He didn't wish to aid her anger at Mason, but make herself worth fade. Like planting a seed, he placed feelings of hopelessness, and longing... Longing for Mason's approval and fear of losing him.

Giving it a moment or two after Mason left, Sylas held his sword at the ready and came out in the opening. He stopped a few feet behind her, holding the tip of his blade toward the back of her neck. His body tensed slightly, when he too heard the growl that came from the left. "Sounds like we're not alone," he replied with a smugness. "I give it... 30 seconds before whatever that is decides to join us. So, how about you hand over your colors now and make it easier on the both of us."
