h e i g h t x // x5'11"

w e i g h t x // x167 lbs

h a i r x // xFinley's hair is thick and black, often kept big but not long. His particular style is a cute mess as he can't be bothered with styling when he's in and out of water so often.

e y e s x // xHaving almost the exact same eyes as his mother, it's no surprise people often comment on how alike they look. Finley's eyes are a deep hazel, only showing their specks of green in the sunlight.

o d d i t i e s x // xApart from his two large beauty marks on his face, Finely's only other 'oddity' would perhaps be the deep scar on his left bicep he received by surfing in a storm. He also has a tattoo on his right forearm.

a p p e a r a n c e x // xFinley's stature is tall and lean, but certainly not lanky. Often he's lamented that one inch that Finley lacked which would push him over to six foot. Much of his weight can be contributed to the muscle he's gained through the many different water sports he partakes in. Although Finley really doesn't care all that much for appearances - his or others - there's no denying that he certainly has an interesting face, if nothing else. A sharp jawline, pouty lips and a thick head of hair are what stand out most. When it comes to clothing, Finley almost always for comfort over fashionable. He's 9 times out of 10 going to be found in some kind of sweatpants, probably concealing a pair of swimming trunks underneath, and a plain tee. His shoe of choice is either his old busted vans, or a pair of flip flops. Finley's wardrobe hasn't changed much since he was probably around fifteen, and quite frankly, he doesn't really care. Finley was cursed with a constantly pissed off looking resting face, often causing others to think that he has an issue with them.

s e i s m i cxm a n i p u l a t i o nx // x Arguably Finley's strongest ability. Like the storm that rages within him, Finley is able to harness the vibration frequencies of the earth and create earthquakes and hurricanes. With this being his most advanced ability, Finely is also able to produce seismic bursts which would throw a person backwards. A power which he both loves and fears.

w a t e rxm a n i p u l a t i o nx // x Able to bend water to his will, Finley can create tidal waves and whirlpools. Unlike his sibling, Finley's powers seem to be tuned for only the use of attack. He is not as strong in this field as he is with seismic manipulation.

o t h e rx // x The other abilities that Poseidon's children possess do not come to Finley so easily. He has been able to heal himself whilst submerged in water once in his life, and never any other people. Otherwise, he can breathe underwater and has a very hard time communicating with beings within his fathers domain.

m o o d yx // x Finley has two main moods, pissed off & moody or tired & grumpy. The only time you'll get a genuine smile from him is when he's in the water.

s a r c a s t i cx // x Arguments with Finley are bizarre because he rarely raises his voice, preferring to opt for quiet contempt with the odd sarcastic jab.

p e o p l ex // x People don't tend to like Finley, and Finley doesn't tend to like people. He's very closed off when it comes to making new friends and is a pretty awful socialiser.

p o s e i d o nx // x You'd be stupid to underestimate the sheer power of Finley's father. While this fear is mostly backed up by respect, Finley does not ever want to get on Poseidon's bad side.

P E R S O N A L I T A T E
xxxxxxx moody xx strong-minded xx trustworthy xx sarcastic x

As a child of Poseidon, it's no surprise Finley's mood changes with the crashing of the waves. He can often be found in a pissed off mood because of one thing or another, and it's really not hard to get on Finley's nerves. Hell, even his father has told him to cheer up before, which is shocking considering the God's own temperament. Finley is happiest when he's in the ocean, and it's about the only time you'll get a genuine smile out of him - it's where he feels safest and most able to be himself. His moody demeanour doesn't make Finley an inherently mean person, however, and he is still capable of emotions that aren't so negative, it's just rare for the boy to go a day without giving out a few glares and eye rolls.

Finley upholds strong morals, and is not one to be swayed. However, what he believes is 'moral' may not be exactly what others may qualify under that category. Finley will do anything for the ones he loves, and has no qualms when it comes to using his abilities in order to protect those few people. He isn't a particularly selfless person though, and so wouldn't do this for just anyone nor would he jeopardise his or a loved ones life in order to save a perfect stranger. The only way Finley could be pulled into the darkness that dwells just under his surface, is though manipulation with his family or close friends. If he believed they were in trouble, Finley would do anything to help them, no matter the cost.

Due to his secretive nature, if there was ever anyone you could confide in, it's Finley. No amount of prodding or begging could get Finley to spill his, or anyone else's secrets -that is unless you used the tactics previously mentioned, even then it would be an internal struggle for the guy. Losing someone's trust to protect someone else, it's a sticky situation for him to be in. His trustworthiness is something Finley truly likes about himself, which is saying a lot considering he certainly doesn't hold himself in the highest regards, meaning that to lose the trust of someone he has promised to protect, would shatter his cold heart.

When first meeting Finley, the immediate thing you will realise is just how sarcastic he is. His sense of humour is incredibly dry and he tends to deadpan a lot, which is not to everyone's taste. Finley genuinely doesn't mean to come across as somewhat unapproachable, but his sarcastic ways certainly don't help him much. People often think he's just being rude, not aware that Finley is trying to joke around with them, in his very own bizarre way. This has only fuelled his belief that people just don't really like him, and therefore he has become more standoffish and icy.

H I S T O R I A R U M

Finley had a fairly idyllic upbringing. Living right on the coast in Sydney, Australia, he was able to visit the shore anytime he wanted. His mother was unbelievably doting on the young boy and even his step-father - Steven - was a great guy, he treated Finley just like his own son and they formed an extremely close bond. No one ever mentioned Finley's biological father, and so the young boy never really thought about it. He already had a family, he didn't need anyone else.

Growing up, Finley was a happy, rambunctious boy, worlds away from the closed off and moody young man he is today. However, his love for the ocean has never wavered. Lillian, his mother, had lived her whole life surfing and sunbathing, so it seemed unsurprising that Finley would follow in her footsteps - whilst unknowingly also following in his father's. Everyday when he arrived home from school, it would be a race to get into his swimwear and get down to the beach in time so that he was able to surf until the sun set.

When Finley's mother fell ill, just a few weeks after his seventeenth birthday, the boy shut off. She was his lifeline, the one person in the whole world who he entirely adored. Steven tried his hardest to comfort the boy, but it wasn't the same. This was the first time Finley longed for his biological father, someone who - he hoped - could fully grasp his anguish. As months passed and the woman's health deteriorated, Finley only grew increasingly more hard. He began fighting with his step-father over the care his mother was receiving, Finley never believed that anyone cared as much as him and so the doctors and nurses weren't doing their jobs well enough, in his eyes.

Lillian remained her same old positive self, while her body began to fail her, her soul stayed as radiant as ever. Whenever Finley thinks back on this memory, he realises why it was so easy for Poseidon to fall for her. No one cared as much as Lillian did, about anything - her family, her friends, even the strangers on the street, if she could help them then she would do everything in her power to.

The first time Finley met Poseidon was out on the ocean. He had chosen to surf on a particularly stormy day, the kind of day where no one else was out on the water because it was far too dangerous. Finley didn't care though, his mother had been moved to a hospice and he knew exactly what that meant - she wasn't going to get better. Eyes trained solely on the water, Finley marched right into the crashing waves, his gaze steely and jaw tightened. He needed this escape.

Unsurprisingly, just a short while after entering the water, Finley was dragged under. He had been surfing an exceptionally large wave when it crashed over him, dragging the boy down into it's depths. Catching his left arm on a jagged rock, Finley was cut from the top of his collarbone down across his left bicep, cutting into a major artery. He would've bled out in the water even before he'd drowned, if it hadn't been for the abilities his father had gifted him.

The last thing Finley remembers before losing consciousness is a large man coming toward him, thick dark hair swirling around him in the water. Waking up on the seashore, Finley noticed the large gash on his arm had healed to a pink and slightly irritated scar. Already? Attempting to shake the feeling that something was off, Finley accepted it, rather than question it and was simply happy to still be alive. It was then he realised that he could never leave his mother, not like this - and that doing what he had done, attempting to surf in a storm was just selfish and impulsive. He'd been too reckless these past years since his mother's illness first began, not thinking about anyone else's feelings but his own.

Resolving to be a better person, at least for his mother, Finley apologised to his step-father for all the hurt he'd caused him. They then spent his mother's final months together, and they were as happy as they could possibly be during a time like this. Leaning on someone else for support rather than bottling it all up was much healthier,
Finley found, and he vowed never to hurt anyone like he'd hurt his mother and Steven these past few years.

Passing the night before Finley was due to turn nineteen, Lillian had lived a long life for a person in her condition. She died surrounded by her beloved son and doting husband, and while the pair would shed many tears of grief, they also knew she was in a better place.

One year later, while Finley sat in the sand, letting the cool ocean water run over his feet, that same man who saved him years ago appeared once more. Taking a seat next to the young man, Poseidon began to tell Finley about how he had met Lillian, recounting their summer together. He had loved her but just like any other Deity, Poseidon couldn't stay with her forever. He'd always watched over his son, seeing him adore the water just as much as his mother had. Finley's sadness became entwined with happiness as he listen to Poseidon recount his story.

Finally, he told Finley about a camp for demi-gods, urging him to go and find others like him. Informing Finley that he had a sister who would also be attending, the young man found that he couldn't say no. He had a sibling - and a sister at that. It may have been wrong, but Finley hoped to form the kind of connection he had with his mother with his new sister and so, he told his step-father that he was going to travel, needing a change after his mother's death and set off for Camp Athens.

Image Alex had never been to one single party before she came to Camp Athens. Their mother never allowed her to leave the house. Last years had been a blast, but this year was going to be different. Alex sat quietly as her brother took the chair across from her. "Are you okay?" He watched her as she managed to turn her attention to him. "..don't tell me it's nothing. When some of the campers left for the year, others stayed here. You didn't. You left me. Where did you go?"

Alex shook her head. "I'm fine. This isn't about when I left. Then, I just needed to be by myself."

"You know it's dangerous out there. Especially by yourself. Has Mason said something to you again? is that why you left?"
"No."
"Okay, so what's wrong now? Did someone else say something to you?"
"No!" she snapped.
"Al..."
Image "Just leave it alone, okay? Don't ask me any more questions." she stood up angrily. "Please." she added. It wasn't like her to shut him off without talking to him. He nodded once, his eyes looking down as he did. She gave him a glare before walking silently passed him. Maybe she shouldn't have come back to camp this year since everyone already thought she was a murderer. No one would possibly miss her, would they? Everything in her life had already turned upside down because of a stupid feud between two Gods. They just couldn't let things stay in the past.

Image He looked up, watching her head into her room. Hopefully, the party would make her feel better. Being around Duke and Wes always brought a smile to her face. Especially Duke. Oh, Ajax had noticed the way his little sister looked at his best friend. Was she acting like this because of him? Duke had recently found out about his little sister, and Alex had seen them together a couple of times without knowing who she is. Was she jealous? the corners of Ajax's lips began to lift upwards, forming a large smile as he looked away and hung his head. Laughing. He had never known her to be jealous, not even once, or she just managed to hide it well. Daniel had a new girl around him before he passed, but Alex didn't seem to batter an eye. He could go in there and tell her about Duke's sister, but maybe it would be way more entertaining for her to find out from Duke himself.

Ajax headed out the second he was dressed, but first grabbing his rucksack which sat near the front door. He decided to wear something casual: Party Outfit. As promised, he arrived a bit early with the music he had downloaded the night before on his computer. It was all taking place down near the beach again where a large campfire was sitting in the middle ready to be lit. Around it at a good safe distance sat four large log benches for everyone to chill out around the flames. The staff members were the ones hosting it all, so they were cooking on the BBQ tonight. They had containers filled with ice where the beer bottles chilled, and quite the buffet on a long table so people could help themselves to sandwiches, pizza, sausage rolls and every other party food displayed. The BBQ would be serving burgers and hot dogs with or without onions. A large variety for everyone to say the least.

Son of Apollo

The brunet boy would smile as he looked into the mirror, dressed in the outfit one of his siblings helped him prepare. This was his first real party! Aside from when they introduced the new campers, but he didn't really view it as a party, per say. But this was his first, actual party!! He was sort of nervous though, he wasn't extremely good at socializing. Briefly thinking not going, he would shake his head and clear his mind. He had to. This would help him be "normal".

His normally ocean colored eyes would be a light greenish-blue coloring, due to his excitement. He was hoping the few friends he had would be there, but the son of Apollo wasn't opposed to making more, he was quite a bubbly person.

With a smile, the boy exited the Apollo cabin with a pep in his walk. He would begin to head towards the beach, he would smile and hum a soft melody, as he walked. He placed his hands in the pockets of his jacket and grinned. Maybe Adrianna or Gwen would keep him company tonight. Or Finn! He would giggle at the idea, as he would reach the area and look around. People seemed to be happy, he was excited for such though, along with being one of his first parties. It was also his first campfire. He always liked fire, his father often had the fire roaring in the fireplace, in Pasadena. He would rake his hand through his hair look around for people to talk to.

Gwendolyn loved the idea of a party. Currently, she didn't know a lot of the campers (old and new) too well and it was bothering her. She was so used to being with her own little 'school of fish' back in Florida that it felt like she was being dropped in the middle of a shark tank. Making friends wasn't a real worry for her however, that came naturally. It was just finding ample opportunities and this was a perfect one.

She slipped out of the shower, feeling rather refreshed. It never took Gwen long to get ready considering the fact she had a few tricks up her sleeve. Drying her hair was just a simple flick of her wrist, and Voila! Beach curls in a second. She had already picked out a casual outfit the night before, it was simple and comfy, turning heads wasn't just her thing. She also couldn't promise herself that she wouldn't get in the water either so she decided against wearing something super nice.

She was about to leave when she passed by Finley's closed and quiet door. Finley was her newfound half-brother, and to her it felt like she already had known him her entire life. The two had a bond that she couldn't quite explain and she truly loved him. Except his anti-social tendencies. Of course he wouldn't want to go to the bonfire tonight, it just wasn't his thing. However, Gwen couldn't bear the thought of leaving him all alone. She lightly rapped on his door placing her ear against the frame.

"Finley! Finns. Is there any chance you could go tonight? It's just a small bonfire, there's food, and it's right next to the beach. You know you always feel better by the water. Plus I'll be there the whole time, so if you feel uncomfortable you can just talk to me!" Gwendolyn stuck her head through her sibling's door giving him a winning, 'please don't let me go alone' smile. It wasn't the first time she had pleaded with Finn to get out of his room and go socialize with the other campers. She figured that it wasn't that the boy was antisocial more so that he just needed a little push and nudge to talk to others. She hated leaving him all by himself all the time, especially when she was out having fun, it didn't feel fair. Her shoulders sagged slightly and a small poignant sigh escaped her mouth, this was where she really got him. Gwen stuck out her bottom lip in a pouty fashion and let out a little sniff of sadness. "I mean, I could just go by myself... You know what? I- It's alright, don't worry about little ole' me. I'll be fine.... all alone.... by myself..."

A large grin broke out on her face as Finn caved into her requests. She burst through the door, practically jumping on the bed to give him a rather large huge. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You won't regret it, I promise. Who knows, you might meet someone special" She waggled her eyebrows in a goofy fashion and hopped off the his bed. "I'll see you there" With that she left his room, grabbing her small and soft cream sweater jacket by the door. The tide at night brought in a rather cool breeze and she wasn't looking to freeze.

It didn't take her long to make it to the beach, (considering the Poseidon kids lived fairly close to it). A couple of the older campers were already around the fire, Gwen knew well enough not to approach them first. Although she loved being friendly, she could see the strain on all of their faces, they needed space and time to make up for what they lost. She had heard a couple of rumors from some of the newer campers about last year and it didn't take her long to realize they had all been to hell and back (some literally).

Her eyes particularly lit up to see lemonade at the drink table. Oh thank Gods she thought as she grabbed a bottle and popped the cap off and took a drink. Her eyes rescanned the crowd and she giggled quietly as her eyes landed on a rather peppy Nik. She made her way over to the son of Apollo an inviting grin on her face. "Nik! It's nice to see a familiar face, how is my sunshine doing tonight?" Since she had gotten to know the quirky boy, it was almost like she had molded into a mothering role.

Dominik loathed the idea of parties. Parties meant talking, which meant socializing, and making friends. None of the things he ever truly enjoyed when it came to camp. The moment the idea of the bonfire was announced he had already settled with himself that he wasn't going. He didn't see the point. Aimless chat that lead to nowhere, mixed with barbaric demigods, the thought made his eyes roll back into his head.

then why was he going

It was stupid, such a stupid idea for him. Dom didn't know the first rule about parties (hell if there even were set rules) but something was just nudging him to go. It wasn't everyday that Dom just did whatever a little odd feeling said but for the tiniest moment he had hoped it was his mom. That somewhere she was just thinking about him, and pushed him to go try something new. He knew it was farfetched, and his mother was a bitch, but that slightest inclination gave him the strangest courage.

There were some problems, Dom didn't know what to wear, when to show up, or what to do. Great start Frosty, he thought pessimistically as he rummaged through his closet. Even though the nudge had given him the will to go, it didn't give him the will to stand out. For a while he contemplated asking Raven, but he didn't even know what to say. Things were already awkward between him and the girl who he recently learned was his half-sister. After a while, he just settled on a casual outfit, dark colors, plain. Perfect.

He waited a while, for it to get dark before finally venturing towards the beach. He slowed his pace to a walk as he tried to go through all the possible scenarios in his head. Dread started to set in as he thought about the party, and several times he almost turned around. Still, there was something just pushing him to try, and he secretly, deep down, he wanted to, just maybe. Dom was so caught up in his scattered thoughts that he wasn't paying any attention to his path and bumped into the person walking in front of him. He wasn't going fast enough to completely knock them over but enough to make them drop their book. Book? This person must have the same distaste in parties that he had.

Domonik raised his head to the girl that he had accidentally bumped into. His face flushed slightly as he realized he had seen her around camp before. A daughter of Eris, but he couldn't recall her name. She was... beautiful in a non-traditional way, but Dom knew well enough to not approach her. Not only was he rubbish with talking in general, but he knew well enough beautiful and himself didn't mix.

He quickly picked up her book, his nervous emotions causing the front cover to freeze a little at his touch. He rather awkwardly shoved the book into her (not outstretched hands), flinching slightly when his hand brushed against hers. He hated the idea of coming into contact with others due to his icy skin, it made him terribly insecure. With as much avoidance of eye contact as possible he muttered a quick and incoherent, "erhm here"
before turning and hightailing it down the trail to the bonfire.

This was going great already.

Finley had only left his cabin once today, for his regularly scheduled swim with his newfound sister, Gwen. While he knew that there would be a bonfire for all the campmates later on, Finley had already resigned to not going. He had never been the most sociable person, and while he deeply loved the friends he had made since being at Camp Athens, Finley felt as though he didn't need anymore. Hell, he'd even gained a sister since being here, what more could a guy ask for?

However, Finley also knew that Gwen would never let him miss an event like this. She had fully embraced responsibility as little sister and would try anything to get Finley out and socialising. What made it even worse was that stupidly adorable face she'd pull every time he said no, forcing Finley to reconsider.

As the time for the bonfire grew closer, Finley found himself surprised that his sister hadn't yet come to guilt-trip him into going. That is, until he hears a knock on the door and a familiar face pops around the corner. "Speak of the devil," Finley mutters to himself, not being able to stop the smile that forms on his lips.

"Finley! Finns. Is there any chance you could go tonight? It's just a small bonfire, there's food, and it's right next to the beach. You know you always feel better by the water. Plus I'll be there the whole time, so if you feel uncomfortable you can just talk to me!" Finley was about to respond before Gwen continued with her usual flurry of words, "I mean, I could just go by myself... You know what? I- It's alright, don't worry about little ole' me. I'll be fine.... all alone.... by myself..."

Letting out a small laugh, Finley knows he's not getting out of this. "Alright alright, I'll go!
" No one would believe these two had only met a mere few weeks ago; Gwen already had Finley wrapped around her little finger.

Feeling himself be knocked backwards from the force of Gwen running and jumping on him, Finley has a hard time staying upright despite the girl being a fair bit smaller than he is. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You won't regret it, I promise. Who knows, you might meet someone special" Finley laughed again as she bounded off the bed and back towards the door like an insatiable ball of energy, "I'll see you there."

Sighing as she leaves, Finley wonders why on earth he agreed to go to this silly bonfire. Who knows, you might meet someone special Gwen's words stick in Finley mind as he shakes his head, "Yeah right." Finley says to himself. He has a hard enough time making friends let alone getting someone to actually want to date him.

Getting up from his spot on the bed, Finley lazily walks over to the wardrobe, not really caring all that much about what he was going to wear for tonight, however he was currently in a vest and shorts and he knew Gwen would be more than a little disappointed if he showed up looking like he was still in his pyjamas.

Throwing on one of his nicer t-shirts and his beloved pair of black sweatpants, Finley runs a comb through his hair before giving his appearance a once-over in the mirror. "Eh, good enough." He sighs as he heads for the door.

The walk down to where the bonfire was being held was short and yet Finley repeatedly contemplated heading back to his cabin. The only thing that drew him toward the gathering of Demigods was the fact that it was so close to the beach. The water calmed Finley and he knew if there was every anytime he was going to be friendly, it would be whilst he was beside the sea. As he entered the clearing that would put him in the sights of the others who were currently gathered, Finley spotted Gwen talking to Nik - one of Finley's other few friends. He thought about approaching them but hung back for a little, not wanting to impose while also knowing that with them, he never could.

Letting his gaze flicker over to the others gathered, Finley noticed some less familiar faces. He had seen almost everyone around at some point, but had not gotten to know very many. The few people who had managed to befriend Finley did so because they were already friends with Gwen. His eyes finally land on the cooler filled with beers. Deciding a little liquid courage couldn't hurt, Finley heads over, smiling slightly at the other person standing there - Mateo? He decided that was probably the guys name, but Finley still did not speak to him, he just sipped his beer as he watched everyone else having fun.

Draining the bottle he held in his hand, Finley looked over at the partygoers once more, boredom creeping up on him. Gwen and Nik still stood together, chatting away. Finley decided maybe he would approach them, before his eye is caught by someone else.

He didn't recognise her but she stood alone, just out of the way. Her eyes grazing over each person as though she was waiting for something to happen. Swallowing his last sip of beer, Finley takes a deep breath - he wasn't used to approaching other people, in fact, usually Finley liked to steer clear of others.

However, this is a party after all and if he can't be sociable here, where can he. Turning to the drinks table behind him, Finley pops the cap off of two more beers, the cool bottle a comfort against his increasingly sweaty palms. Gods, why was he so nervous.

Sure, she's beautiful, but just the simple fact of approaching someone, anyone, was what caused Finley's stomach to turn. Shaking his head slightly, Finley resolves to do this one thing. If he doesn't talk to anyone else tonight, he will talk to this mysterious girl.

Setting a small smile on his face, in the hopes that he can look friendly, Finley walks the short distance over to where she stood. Still alone, still watching everyone else. Clearing his throat, Finley extends a hand which held one of the beer bottles, "Hey I, um,
" He begans -not the smoothest start - "I got you a beer."

Shit, what was that? He didn't even introduce himself, just shoved a beer on her. What if she doesn't even drink? Oh Gods, this is why he doesn't talk to people, Finley thinks. Mentally, Finley kicks himself but outwardly he doesn't let the smile on his face flinch for a second, his hand still outstretched. Hoping she took the beer so he'd be free to head back to his cabin and never speak to anyone again. This is what happens when Finley, the notorious recluse, tries to make friends. It doesn't go well.

The two girls reached the bonfire in a matter of minutes, fingers still entwined. It was more of a subconscious thing that Kalani did and she certainly never meant it romantically. Just like she might grab Wes' hand to drag him to see something, taking Adrianna's and pulling her along to the bonfire meant nothing more than Kalani was excited and wanted to get there now.

Just a short while after they had arrived, so did Annie, greeting them with a, "Hey! ... Woah, well, you guys look amazing.
" Kalani giggles, sending her a smile in the form of a 'thanks' before grabbing Annie into her arms for a tight hug.

Finally releasing the girl, Kalani steps back to assess Annie's outfit, "You look so lovely!" She beams, excitement bubbling up in her voice. Kalani couldn't be happier, surrounded by her two very best friends at camp. Of course none of them had been there long enough to be actual best friends, but it had been surprising how quickly these three had taken to each other. Kalani had always been good at making friends, and it seems that only a short while after arriving at the camp, she had managed to do just that.

"I thought Lise was coming with you- Ah I see now." Kalani follows Adrianna's gaze to where Lise stood, alongside Dimitri. Oh. Kalani's smile falters for a fraction of a second, before she places it back at full force on her face. "They look cute together." Kalani forces out, catching Lise's eye and sending her a wave as she does so. Shaking off any negative emotion she may be feeling.

The girls chatted and danced along to the soft music drifting throughout the bonfire for a while, until Kalani noticed someone catch Adrianna's eye. Before the girl could tease her about it, the daughter of Hera opens her mouth. "Girls, I'll see you in a bit. I found a challenge, byyyye." Kalani laughs softly and waves her off, watching as Adrianna makes a beeline for Mason. That would be interesting.

Kalani would be content to just sit and watch whatever was about to happen unfold, but instead she turns to Annie, a wry smirk on her face. "Let's play a game," She whispers to the girl before she turns away to face the rest of the partygoers. "Hey, guys," Kalani calls out in an attempt to get all their attention.

She then waltzes over to the drinks table, picking up the bottle Finley had just placed down. "Spin the bottle anyone?" She suggests, her smirk growing into a full fledged mischievous grin. She knew some of the elder students would probably sit this game out, but Kalani couldn't think of a better way to get to know her fellow newbies than by kissing them!

Creating a circle of people just next to the fire, Kalani heads back to Annie and squeezes her hand, "Come play." She whispers, before taking a seat for herself in the circle and placing the bottle down in the middle of the group.

Spying Gwen and Niko standing a couple feet away, Kalani calls out - "Hey you guys, wanna join?" Attempting to get as many people involved as possible. This ought to be an awful lot of fun.

The party was in full swing as more and more demigods began to gather around the campfire. She eyed each and every one of them closely, taking mental note of those who specifically caught her eye. Though her vision was soon obscured by a boy with a mess of black hair atop his head. Anyone with a pair of working eyes could tell that the boy was nervous, and Areum quirked her brow as he handed her a beer, stumbling over his words with as much grace as a drunken fool. She surely wasn't a fan of the beverage, but she accepted the drink, deciding to entertain him for a little while. Besides, she wasn't so heartless that she would turn away the poor guy when it clearly took all of his courage just to walk up to her.

Areum took a quick swig, holding back the urge to gag as the bitterness of the beer washed over her tongue, before turning back to him, "Thank you for that. I'm Areum, you?" It was as simple as introductions came, but she was trying her best not to scare the guy away. From how he navigated the area around him he seemed as new to the camp as she was, and although she probably couldn't get any of the information she was looking for out of him, it was still good to make a few connections here and there.

The sound of commotion caught her as people began to gather right next to the fire, forming a circle to play spin the bottle. Areum wasn't eager to join in on the game herself, at least not at that very moment, but she was sure it'd be an entertaining game to watch.

Before Nik could answer Gwen's eyes strayed to Emery who was just coming down the beach and to the bonfire. Gwen caught Em's eye and waved, and Gwen returned the favor shooting her a smile.

Ummm, I'm doing great!!! I'm kinda nervous though, it's my first 'party'."
Gwen gave him a warm smile and nudged him with her shoulder. "You have nothing to worry about, trust me" She understood his nervousness considering she had gotten quite close to her half-sibling, Finn. He was also a little uncomfortable at things like these, but there was nothing more than a good support group of friends to help. "You have Annie, Adri, Ani, the others, and I for backup". "I just hope I don't mess it up, by being weird." Gwen's face fell at his comment. She knew that he had already underwent some teasing from other campers, and it put quite a damper on his mood. "Listen, if anyone has a problem with you they can gladly sleep with the fishes tonight" She winked and there was definitely a playfully gleam in her eyes.

Gwen's eyes strayed slightly as she noticed Finn had actually shown up, she grinned proudly at the boy even though he hadn't noticed her yet. She did however notice that a girl had peaked his attention and her eyebrow rose slightly. Hmm, he hasn't mentioned her before. It was obviously going to be a topic of conversation when they got back to the cabin.

"Spin the bottle anyone?" Kalani's voice caught her attention and she turned to see the girl holding an empty bottle of beer. Oh no... Gwen thought to herself, there was practically nothing more that she loathed. She loved general, normal interaction to meet others, but forced and awkward interaction was the worst. Gwen turned back to Nik to comment on the idea but her eyes widened when she saw his face. "Oh no. Absolutely not. I am not going to play that - " Before she could finish Nik grabbed her arm and drug her over to the circle sitting her down next to him in the sand. She could only hope and pray that the bottle didn't land on her.

Domonik sat on a log near the edge of the bonfire (far away from the fire itself) hoping to avoid any interaction. Then what was the point of even coming? If I'm not going to indulge myself like everyone else? He still wasn't sure on that be he had already gone extremely out of his comfort zone to even be near a party so he wasn't going to give in to the conversation aspect of it. It was guaranteed that no one would come out of their way to come talk to him, who would want to anyway?

"Hey there, I thought you could use one of these."

Damnit.

He turned his gaze to a girl, presumably a child of Aphrodite, who was holding a beer in her outstretched hand. "No". He turned his gaze back to the sand away from her. Most would just give up after this exchange, but clearly Aphrodite children were prone to not giving up on things they started. "What? No? I don't get a thank you at least?" He looked back up at her again, with his 'resting ice face' or at least that's what Annie called it. "Nothing? Alright. Fine. Might as well take the drink then." And by that she meant practically throwing the cup at him, for Dom however a quick flick of the wrist and the whole thing landed next to him completely frozen solid in the sand. The use of his power must've startled her because she took a step back and her left heel broke off in the sand which caused her to fall flat on her butt. Dom merely raised an eyebrow in amusement as she muttered a string of curses and stood up limping back through the sand to the party. Oh gods.

Now he was really starting to get the impression that he should leave.

Mateo watched the last of the partygoers trickle in, some of them he recognized and some of them he didn't know at all. He glanced over at Adrianna and Kalani, smiling slightly at how bubbly his new sister was. This entire experience almost felt strange for him, of course he enjoyed being surrounded by a bunch of kids his age. Somewhere along the line however, it seemed to him that they all were just really out of place. After this, where did they go? Carry on with normal lives? That became quite the challenge when you have a big neon sign above you head that reads, "IM DIFFERENT'. Matty suddenly felt blessed to be a child of Hera, she definitely knew her shit. He had labeled his abilities as 'users' considering that's pretty much what they did. When he first figured out he had the ability to make everyone do whatever he said it took him everything to not make his entire Private School bow before him. He chuckled at the thought. He just had a drive to do something, but he didn't know what yet.

His eyes trained on the group just down the table from him, he knew the guy passing out drinks was Theo, one of the older campers. Actually, the majority of them were older campers except a few. One of the boys definitely peaked his interests, he just seemed to have an air of confidence surrounding him which Matty found intriguing. Suddenly his gaze turned to Kalani, a newbie as well, as she raised a bottle excitedly in the air and called for a game of spin the bottle. Mateo smirked at the idea, he used to do this all the time back at school when all the kids would party together. It was quite possibly one of his favorite party games. He surveyed the party and decided that he probably wouldn't mind kissing half the strangers here.

Before going to join his sister and the others however he looked back at Theo and the group passing out drinks. He made his way across the table from the strange boy just as Theo slid two shots to him down the table. Mateo grabbed one of them from in front of him and downed it in a second before setting the empty shot glass back on the table. "Thanks"
He said smoothly and winked at the boy, pushing back from the table and joining the group sitting in the 'spin the bottle' circle, sitting next to Adrianna.

Feeling a sense of relief when the girl took the beer, Finley's smile eases into a more genuine, and less awkward, one. Running a hand through his unkempt hair, Finley listens as she introduces herself. "Thank you for that," She begins, and Finley holds up his own beer in a sort of 'your welcome' motion, "I'm Areum, you?"

Areum, what an unusual name. He'd be sure not to forget it. "Finley," He says, pausing for a brief moment to ponder whether he should tell her his ridiculous nickname. Deciding it might be quite funny, Finley continues, "Some people call me Finn though." He laughs softly, before abruptly pausing when he realises she won't understand the joke. After all, she doesn't know who his father is. "Oh - I, um, I'm Poseidon's son." Finley goes on to explain, before chewing on his bottom lip anxiously. It was actually a little shocking to Finley how dumb he was being right now.

Attempting to be cool, or at least some what impressive, Finley holds up his beer before motioning his hand upward. Slowly, the liquid contents of the bottle rise up, coming out of the bottle in a line almost as if they were contained in a tube. Smiling at Areum, Finley then drops his hand and the beer falls back into the bottle, a couple drops splashing back up onto his face. Quickly wiping the liquid off his face, Finley's smile becomes sheepish as he realises maybe that wasn't as cool as he was hoping. "See." Finley adds, making it known he was just trying to show her that he was, indeed, a child of Poseidon.

Moving the bottle back up to his lips, Finley takes a sip, following Areum's gaze as it falls on the little gathering by the fire. Seemed like a lot of people had taken Kalani up on her spin the bottle suggestion. Finley, however, did not feel compelled to join those gathered and kiss a load of random people. Noticing Gwen sitting in the group, Finley can't help up chuckle to himself a little, of course she was - they may not have known each other for very long but it didn't take a genius to see that Gwen was by far the more outgoing of the two Poseidon children.

His sights are then shifted onto another group of campers dancing by the speaker, specifically Andy and her boyfriend. Ajax, right? Finley wasn't certain, but he seemed like an alright guy. Currently though the pair seemed to be about as close to getting frisky in the middle of a social gathering as you can get without it being too weird. Quick to look away, Finley's eyes widen ever so slightly after seeing that spectacle.

Focusing back onto Areum, Finley asks, "So, who's your godly parent?" Taking another sip, Finley shakes his head, "Actually, no, let me guess." This could be fun, unless he got it horribly wrong and she felt insulted. Oh gods. Pondering on it for a moment, Finley runs through all the demigods at camp he'd currently met, and their parent. Sure, she was beautiful enough to be a child of Aphrodite, but her demeanour betrayed, Areum was far too reserved to be the goddess' daughter. Nemesis perhaps? Finley had yet to meet one of her offspring. No. This was harder than Finley had anticipated, and now he was worried he'd put his foot in it.

Glancing over at her again, Areum's almost dreamy aura makes Finley think of a very specific God and a wry smile appears on his face. "You're definitely pretty enough to be a daughter of Aphrodite, but they're usually a little more obnoxious," Finley's gaze slips over to Kalani as he says this. It wasn't the worst trait to have, but the girl could be a bit over the top at times. "The only God that seems right would be Hypnos." Almost certain that he must be correct since no other seemed fitting, Finley's expression falls into a slightly smug, albeit still quite nervous smirk.

Whilst he waited for Areum to respond, Finley glances down at his watch, checking on the time. Surprised at how late it was, Finley then looks over to Gwen, hoping that she hadn't had too much to drink since he knew he'd be the one walking her back to her cabin. Noticing that spin-the-bottle seemed to be winding down, Finley felt ever so slightly relieved, he'd only been avoiding his sister because he didn't want to get roped into kissing random strangers. Since he could barely hold a conversation with Areum, Finley doubted he'd be much of a kisser.

Draining his bottle Finley shifts his gaze back onto Areum, a small smile on his lips. "It's been really nice talking to you,"
He begins earnestly, "But I should probably take my sister home." Finley chuckles, motioning over to where Gwen was seated. "I'll, um, I'll see you around." He says with a nod and walks off. Heading for the table where the drinks were once but now had only empty bottles. Places his own beer bottle down, he runs a hand through his hair, quite pleased with himself for surviving the party.

Others seemed to have decided the party was over too and he spotted Theo walking off with Alex. His sister would probably be a little upset if she saw that, since Finley knew she had a thing for Theo - as much of a thing as a girl can have for a guy she'd only known a couple weeks. Thinking about his sister reminded that he still needed to walk Gwen home and so he turns back to face the party and heads over to where she sat.

By this point the fire had become mere embers and any kind of light it had been emitting was rapidly dulling. Placing a hand on Gwen's shoulder, he leans down so their heads are level and whispers, "Wanna head back?" His eyes shifting around the loose circle that had already seemingly been broken a few times.

Finally, they landed on Annie and Finley's smile grows to become more genuine, he didn't know the girl all too well, but just about everyone at camp knew how sweet she was. Deciding to offer to walk her home also, Finley calls over the circle, "Annie, me and Gwen are going to walk back now, do you wanna come?" If he wasn't mistaken, the Apollo children's cabins weren't too far from Poseidon's, besides, even if it was a bit of a walk, Finley didn't mind dropping Gwen off home and then walking with Annie a little longer.

Finley stands up as he waits for the two females to respond, wiping at the small drop of beer on his t-shirt he had gotten earlier. That's what you get for showing off is all Finley thinks to himself, almost amused at how badly his attempt at being 'cool' had gone.

A sXXTrinity's lips pressed against Lise's, the latter girl's brows shot up in bemusement, and once they finally separated, said expression did not leave her face.

XX"Was that okay?"

O h ,XX definitely. Lot of passion, which is always fun, although you were sending out some major hate-sex vibes. Not that that's a bad thing. Also, I can tell that you're a little inexperienced, but I would be happy to help you with that.

T a c t l e s sXXas she was, Lise knew better than to say any of this to the obviously emotionally conflicted demigod, so instead she just carried on with her detachedly amused smile, and raised her hand in an 'okay' gesture.

S h eXXher own kiss, she was surprised by how quickly she'd grown bored by the game, which was so often the source of drama and scandal- at least in 90's teen dramas. Her attention was quickly drawn away from the empty beer bottle, as she watched with a smirk the chaos around her. Or, perhaps not chaos, not yet. But brewing. She barely knew half of the people at camp, but none of them seemed especially apt at hiding their emotions. Their furtive glances, their jealous frowns, their conflicted gazes... they weren't subtle in the slightest.

L i s e ' sXXeyes drifted to the angsty brunette -Alex, was it?- as the girl dragged Theo away from Xena, clearly unable, or perhaps unwilling to read the room. Ha. Relatable, amiright? A lot of unpleasant rumours followed around the daughter of Zeus, the most prominent being the story of her murdering a fellow camper last year. Apparently, it had been an act of vengeance, and although Lise sympathised with the notion, the fact that she'd been allowed to return to camp without punishment after literally killing someone irked her slightly. Perhaps it was her logical nature, that demanded fairness in regards to punishment and legal retribution. Then again, it wasn't like she was much of a stickler for rules, so perhaps she was being hypocritical.

T h e nXXagain, she had never murdered anybody, so perhaps she wasn't.

D e s p i t eXXthe drama going on around her, Lise's attention was dragged back to her own circle when Mason (Or 'Fall-Out Boy', as she liked to call him) queried Ani about her 'favourite person at camp.' Despite herself, Lise found herself surreptitiously listening in, curiosity riddled with something else caught in her expression. Ani's vague answer brought a small smirk to Lise's lips, and, satisfied, she took her attention back to the messiness around her. At least, until Ani rose from her seat, and Mason's issued yet another delightfully tantalising question.

XX"Do you feel jealous or possessive when your favourite is swept up in someone else?"

XX"For a self proclaimed dick, you're quite the gentleman. Oh, and by the way, I've never had that happen to me,"

S h eXXsmirked once more, only to scoff as the girl wandered off to join her brother.

XX"Bye, then. She sighed before standing and stretching, looking down towards Dimitri with a wan smile. "Well, then, Adonis. I'm afraid this party blows. I think I'mma make like a tree. " Expression bored, she gestured in the direction of her cabin with a silver-ringed thumb.

A n n i eXXhad never been the type to get caught up in drama, but even she could not help but watch the endless plot threads play out, nor could she avoid sensing the growing negativity of the party, as conflict loomed threateningly over every interaction.

I nXXall honesty, the bad vibes had started to stress her out, and she'd spent most of her time sipping on some peculiarly sweet beverage that Lise had pushed her way during Trinity and Theo's kiss. And then another. And another. Downing the remnants of the beverage, Annie silently rejoiced in feeling the bad vibes fall out of focus, blurring into something she could pretend was joyous rather than toxic.

A sXX Ani left the group to see her brother, Annie waved pointlessly at her retreating back, before leaning forward and placing her head in her hands. Her face, reflected in the bottle, was bright-eyed and rosy-cheeked, the latter a side-effect of the alcohol, the former a typical part of her features. With a finger, she twirled it, watching it spin with a soft smile, despite knowing that the game had already reached its conclusion.

T h eXX bottle slowed to a stop, pointing at the empty seat across from Annie, behind which a figure approached to lean across the circle.

XX"Annie, me and Gwen are going to walk back now, do you wanna come?"

T h eXX rising from the bottle, Annie hiccuped when she saw who it was, and after looking at him for a just a moment too long (easy, she assured herself, to blame on her dizziness... or maybe it was her dizziness. She wasn't too sure, in all honesty) she smiled. Widely. Liquid courage, it seemed, had gripped her.

XX"Yep!"

S h eXXstood up quickly, and a lightness flooded her head, causing her to stumble before she caught herself, giggling. Walking with only a slight wobble over to where Finley and and Gwen stood, she grinned once more, pointing wildly in the vague direction of the cabins.

XX"Let's go!"

After Nik scurried away to get the drinks Gwen felt a tad bit awkward. Without the boy who dragged her into the circle in the beginning, she couldn't help but feel a little out of place. Not to mention seeing Theo leave with Alex left a sad pit in her stomach, she hadn't even had the courage to talk to him, so why would she get her hopes up anyway. It was an irrational and girly crush that was probably never going to happen.

Her train of thought was disrupted when she felt a light hand on her shoulder and turned to see Finn, "Wanna head back?"
She breathed a tiny, but audible sigh of relief as Finn was a great excuse to leave the circle without looking like she had copped out. "Yes. Thank gods, I thought I was going to be stuck in this circle for forever..." She whispered back, a small grin on her face.

"Annie, me and Gwen are going to walk back now, do you wanna come?" A true gentleman. The quick thought reminded Gwen of the girl she had seen Finn talking with earlier, it was definitely a topic she was going to have to talk to him about. She got to her feet, dusting off the stray particles of sand that had clung to her legs and shorts from sitting down. Saying a quick goodbye to Em and some of the others she really didn't wait for Annie and Finn. If she was being honest the comfort of her bed just sounded too good to be true.

When they finally made it to the cabins she waved a sheepish goodbye to Annie, and offered Finn a small "Goodnight, I'll see you in the morning".

"I... never really thought of it that way." She was beautiful when she smiled. "Thank you". He was pleasantly surprised in how easy it was to talk to her, which was something that he had never experienced. So much so, that he couldn't control pretty much half the things that he said. It was a strange feeling.

Dom noticed the small bit of animosity when he asked her why she had come in the first place. "Sylas made me come." He watched her gaze shift to that of her brother's, sitting in the 'spin the bottle circle'. He inwardly cringed at the though, he could never imagine himself indulging in simplistic and pointless games. Sylas, for one looked quite self-indulged and was oddly grinning at the both of them when he made eye contact. He turned back to Sloane and gathered from the look on her face that they must've not been the best of siblings, there was definitely something off.

"Figured if I had to come, I shouldn't be utterly bored." She had a definite point, and had already completely beat Dom in the idea of 'surviving a party'. "What are you reading?" He asked quietly staring at the worn front cover of the book. "It's The Iliad. A book everyone should read, especially demigods." Dom watched as she flipped through the weathered pages carefully, she obviously was attached to the story. "It's a good read, but you have to read the Odyssey once you've finished it. The Iliad is about the Trojan War, while the Odyssey follows Odysseus after the war."

There was a small pause in her train of thought, he noticed her shift in thought, and was surprised when she took a step and held the book out to him. "You can borrow it... If you want." His expression probably came dumbfounded as she smiled at him waving the book in his direction. This was the first time someone had ever offered him to borrow something, he didn't know how to react. "I've read it like a hundred times."

He gently took the book from her hold and admired the cover for a moment looking up at her a rather goofy smile on his face. "T-thank you. I promise I'll take good care of it. Or at least try not to give it frostbite again". He glanced back at the group of partygoers and watched as the majority of them started to leave. It was an odd thought for him, in the beginning he wanted nothing more than to leave but now it was quite the opposite. "I guess I better head back" He shifted back and forth on his feet for a moment. Another thing he was terrible at, goodbyes. "It was lovely meeting you, hopefully we get to see each other again soon. I mean, I have to return the book so we'll have to- I guess it just depends on how long it takes me to read it" He needed to stop talking. His face flushed a bright red, and he took a step back clutching the book to his chest. "I'll see you around" He said quietly with a small smile before disappearing quite abruptly partially embarrassed about half the things that came out of his mouth.

When he finally made it back to his cabin he feel back into the bed, staring giddily at the ceiling. After a moment he grabbed the book and opened the cover running his thumb over the small pencil inscription, 'Sloane Astor'. He smiled before closing it and placing the book on his bedside table eventually giving into his tiredness and falling asleep.

Mateo could practically feel the vibe of the party quickly die as most of the campers started to loss interest in what was happened. He hated when parties lost their fire, there was nothing more boring than that. He leaned over to his sister, "Hey Adri, I'm going to go ahead and head back". With that he pushed himself up from the circle, dusting sand off of his pants waving a short goodbye to everyone.

He walked around the edge of the circle towards the exit of the beach not before stopping next to the boy he had laid eyes on the entire night. He leaned down next to him, his mouth dangerously close to Slyas's ear. "See you around, Sylas" He whispered with a smirk before getting up and leaving the beach.

When he got back to his cabin he quickly changed into a pair of loose Adidas pants and fell back on to his bed with a sigh. Even though the party hadn't been too exciting he was still exhausted, but it wasn't anything a little sleep couldn't fix. With that he buried himself into the fluffy covers and fell asleep immediately.

Once Gwen and Annie had both gotten up from their makeshift seats in the sand, Finley began to head for the clearing, making sure to keep pace with them both as he noticed Annie begin to wobble, before realising that she actually looked incredibly drunk. Rushing around Gwen to where Annie was, Finley places a hand on her back in an attempt to steady the tipsy demigod. With a semi-amused, semi-concerned smile on his face, Finley walks like this back to where Gwen and his cabins were. Looking over at his sister, Finley shoots her a look, "You head in Gwen, I'll walk Annie back." He says, knowing full well that he couldn't simply let the daughter of Apollo stumble back to her cabin alone. He wasn't a complete dick.

As he moves Annie in the direction of her cabin, just a couple more minutes walk away, Finley calls back over his shoulder, "Night sis, I'll be waking you bright and early tomorrow." He teases, knowing that would solicit at least a small groan out of the younger girl. Finley always woke before most of the other demigods in order to go for an early swim, something he did every single day. It helped keep his mind calm and gave the boy time to think.

Not forgetting Annie who was still stuck to his side, Finley makes sure he is steadying her properly as they walk, his hand around her waist to keep her from tripping. Once they arrived at her cabin, Finley released the girl, looking down into her eyes with that same, small smile. "Try and get a good sleep," He mutters, his voice low as they were the only two within the vicinity, most of the others having already gotten themselves tucked up in bed. "And drink lots of water, you'll thank me in the morning." He chuckles, giving her shoulder a squeeze before letting go so that she is able to get up the steps that led into her new home.

With that, Finley is gone. Having watched her get in safely, he felt assured that she would be perfectly okay until the morning. Relieved, Finley finally feels the tiredness settle in his mind, fogging his thoughts ever so slightly. Finley makes it back to his own cabin quickly, kicking off his shoes and falling down into bed. He didn't bother changing out of his current outfit since it was only a t-shirt and sweats anyway; comfortable enough to sleep in.

- - -

The next morning, Finley wakes bright and early, just as he always did. Immediately throwing on his swimming trunks, he then chucks a baggy shirt on and grabs his sandals, ready to head for the lake. Before he does so, Finley makes sure to check on his sister, knocking ever so lightly on her door, he lets himself in and is greeted by the sight of the girl fast asleep, tucked up ever so snug in bed. Typically, Finley got his sister up to go swimming with him, but this morning he made an exception. She'd had a pretty full on night and Finley didn't want her to be so shattered that she couldn't participate in the days events along with the other campers.

Exiting as quietly as possible, Finley is sure not to slam the door behind him as he jumps down the steps and sets his sights, finally, on the beach. Passing the small fire pit where the party had been last night, Finley looks at where just hours prior, the whole camp had been engaged in the festivities. How different it looked in the daylight. Burnt logs lay where a once full fire was and there was no one around but a few animals, curiously inspecting the tiny pieces of food that had been dropped during the party.

Smiling to himself, Finley thinks back on talking to the new girl as he reaches the waters edge, letting the freezing water lap at his exposed toes. Slipping off his shirt and sandals, Finley's mind then turns to Annie as he laughs softly to himself about how drunk she was. Sure that she'd be embarrassed this morning, Finley made a mental note not to bring it up with her, he didn't want the girl to feel bad.

Soon, his whole lower torso his emerged in the water, becoming familiar and comfortable within the icy lake. He swims out into the centre where it is so deep his feet cannot reach the bottom, and dives down, now exposing his face to the cold. It's peaceful under the water and Finley lets himself stay there - he felt safe.

Half an hour later and Finley was still swimming, alternating between doing laps and seeing how long he could stay under the water. It capped at around 15 minutes which, while impressive, was not long enough in Finley's books; it was something he needed to work more on. It wasn't up until this point that he even thought about breakfast. Feeling his stomach rumble reminded Finley that he definitely needed to grab something to eat, especially if they were to be doing some tiring training exercises today as he believed they were.

Leaving the water, Finley almost felt sad that he couldn't spend all his time within it's depths, basking in the safety of his father's domain. But alas, he still needed sustenance. Making a quick pitstop back at his cabin, Finley switches out his trunks for some try sweatpants and pulls on some trainers, before heading back out into the early morning sun and making his way to the hall where breakfast was just about to be served.

As he made his way to the hall, Finley spotted Annie and Kalani seated under the shade of a tree just outside the entrance, however as he acknowledged them, Finley notices another slightly more unfamiliar face in their midst. Sloane, Annie and Kalani? Now there was a weird group of people. Two of the bubbliest girls at camp seated with perhaps the least talkative, somehow even less than Finley himself - which was not an easy feat.

Passing the girls, Finley's eye catches Annie's and he sends her a wink, in a 'remember last night' type of way. He didn't want her to feel embarrassed but he also knew he couldn't not acknowledge it. Especially after what she had said to him. Finley wasn't sure whether Annie knew he was part Korean, but he figured not since he doubted she would have said what she did to him, knowing he could understand her; although she did seem extremely tipsy so who knows. It would be easy to assume Finley couldn't understand Korean, especially since he grew up in Australia, but despite that his mother's roots were in South Korea, where her grandparents used to live and she thought it was important to make sure her son learnt his native tongue.

Finley wanted to stop and talk to the daughter of Apollo, but his stomach had other ideas. Figuring if they were gonna talk about it, he probably shouldn't be constantly making questionable noises resonating from his stomach, Finley heads into the hall, his face lighting up at the sight of the food. The camp always had an amazing spread and Finley was instantly drawn toward it, grabbing himself a bowl and goes for the fruit. Having a preference for healthy foods over sweet stuff, Finley makes sure to sample a little of everything they have to offer until his bowl was filled with different fruits, not forgetting to grab himself a fork while he's at it.

Glancing around the hall, Finley's eyes finally land on Nik and with a relieved smile, he makes his way over to his friend, placing his bowl down opposite him. "Morning," He greets Nik, taking a seat, "How are you?" Finley asks as he tucks into his fruit, noticing the book in Nik's hand. "Oh man, sorry am I disturbing you?" He continues, concerned that he just disrupted Nik's wanted solitude. Attempting to scan the area for another seat if Nik wanted to be left on his own, Finley glances back over at the door, his eyes on the back of Annie's head, watching as she chats with the other girls. Wait, Finley realises, Nik is her brother. Wanting to ask the guy more about his sister, Finley decides to stay where he is for now. This could be useful.

Coyly turning back to face the son of Apollo, Finley fiddles with his fork, pushing the fruit around in his bowl. "So, uh," He continues, somehow nervous around his friend all of a sudden, "Annie's..Nice isn't she?" What the hell was he saying, Gods he must seem like a complete idiot to Nik now. Of course he thinks she's nice, he's her damn brother. "Do you think.." Finley begins but is unable to finish his sentence, he wanted to ask if she was interested in him, or whether it was just a drunken moment. Unfortunately Finley's nerves get the best of him and he can't continue, sheepishly looking up at Nik with a small smile. "Do you think I could borrow that book when you're done?" Finley finishes, completely shifting the conversation in an attempt to brush off his previous awkwardness.

Gwen stretched nearly falling off the side of her bed as she let out a small groan. Although she hadn't drank the night before she was still a bit tired from the party. She rolled to her side and checked her alarm clock, it was already eight. She frowned slightly, Finn must've gone for a swam without her. Granted, she was a bit grateful that he hadn't woke her she rather enjoyed the extra hour of sleep.

She eventually willed herself to move and shuffled to her closet picking out a rather cosy cable-knit sweater and slipped on her tan birks. She left the cabin walking down the gravelly path towards the hall where they always served food. She normally spent a couple hours in the morning swimming but her hunger was greater than her longing to swim.

When she entered the hall she saw a few familiar faces, Em, Nik, and her brother. His hair was slightly curled from his apparent morning swim, and he was talking to Nik. It was a strange sight, she hadn't seen her brother approach the shy but sweet boy before. She raised a slight eyebrow a little curious but nonetheless happy Finn was expanding his friend horizon. She waved at him and Nik as she passed, offering them both a lazy smile.

She made her way over to the breakfast that was in a buffet style. Her stomach rumbled quietly as the smell of cinnamon French toast and pancakes wafted her way. Gwen couldn't deny the fact that she had a bad sweet tooth, and filled her plate with pancakes and some grapes. She contemplated going to sit with her brother but he seemed pretty invested in his conversation with Nik so she steered towards Em's table instead. "Hey stranger"
Gwen said with a smile, plopping down in the seat opposite from Em popping a grape into her mouth. "Sorry about disappearing pretty fast last night , I got pretty tired and Finn was ready to head back".

Dom was up before the sun even had a chance to rise. He always got extra early in the morning, he enjoyed the part of sunrise where everything was just very quiet. Dom also found that the woods surrounding the camp had the perfect path for a jog. He took this time to jog around the campus, there was nothing he loved more than listening to the sound of the life around him wake up in the morning. As he jogged through the thick forest, the sun just barely peeking up from the horizon, the birds started to faintly chirp and he could practically hear the forest breathe itself awake.

After his short morning warm up, he took a quick (cold) shower, and threw on a collared shirt and some jeans. He thought to wake Raven, he contemplated the idea for a moment, it seemed like a nice gesture but he eventually was hesitant enough and decided against it. Before leaving the cabin however, he snatched the book off of his nightstand and took it with him on his way to the dining hall.

As he got closer he noticed Sloane and stopped for a moment a little lost in thought. She seemed different today, her clothes especially were a definite shift from last night but the look altogether seemed a lot more Sloane. He took a step to approach her but then he noticed Ani dash in her direction and begin to strike up a conversation. Of course, he thought to himself, I mean I only talked to her once, I can't just assume that we're the best of friends. He sheepishly took a step back and headed towards the hall again and was greeted with a few familiar faces. He made his way over to a table with an assortment of fruit and grabbed an apple before finding a secluded table in the corner and made himself comfortable. He took a bite out of the apple and flipped the page, investing himself into the book and drowned out the noises of the dining hall as he ate.

Matty nearly smashed his alarm clock when the damn thing started blaring at seven in the morning. He groaned shuffling around in his blankets for a bit before managing to roll himself out of bed, his head pounding with a killer headache. He rubbed his eyes, praying that they weren't too terribly puffy, and popped about six aspirins as he marched himself into the bathroom succumbing to a long and scalding hot shower. He pretty much moved subconsciously through his morning routine the motions ingrained into his mind. He settled on a rather neutral but classy outfit, throwing a pair of shades on top of his head as well.

He shuffled slowly through the cabin pausing at his sister's door to knock on it softly. He hoped she didn't have too bad of a hangover. "Sis, I'm going to get breakfast"
He paused mid-sentence to yawn, "you know where to find me".

He made his way across the grounds of the camp, a few of the others awakening around the same time as well. As he got closer the tempting smell of bacon and buttered toast made him quicken his pace as he entered the doors to the dining hall. His eyes immediately sprung to the man-candy that had captured his eyes last night, he was currently chatting with the Hades Kid. How odd. Matty could tell Sylas liked a widened playing field when it came to the other campers, he appreciated it.

He noticed he had caught the eye of some Demeter girl, who was making googly eyes at him from across the room. He gave her a winning smile as he sat down at a table and she immediately came over to him. "Goodmorning..." "June!" She chimed in her face flushing. "June... Such a lovely name" She giggled, and let out a shy 'thank you' as Matty leaned closer to her making direct eye contact. "Would you be a dear and go get a plate of breakfast for me? I just woke up this morning with the most awful headache and I would really appreciate it". Matty smiled as her eyes clouded over, almost as if they were covered with a sheet of silver. It was just for a moment, and if you weren't looking for it, you probably wouldn't have noticed. "Of course you poor thing! I'll get it right away!" It was so much easier to influence if they were willing. It didn't take the Demeter girl but a couple of minutes before she returned with a hot plate of breakfast setting it down in front of him. "You are a lifesaver, I owe you one" He said with a small wink and watched as she blushed even more and dashed away back to her friends. Matty bit into a piece of toast, leaning back into his chair a rather self satisfied smirk plastered across his face.

D e s p i t eXXthe unnecessarily brusque nature of Sloane's response, Annie did not allow her sheepishness to show on her face, and instead responded kindly, noting that the two hadn't ever actually spoken to one another.

"Morning, how are you? So, uh, Annie's..nice isn't she?" the male turned to see Finley standing there. His eyes lighting up to a greenish hue. He gained a confused face towards the male when he asked him if his sister was nice. I mean, yeah, she was definitely one of the nicer siblings and people Niko had met at the camp. "Um....she's more nice than most people. I like her. More people should be like her.....and Gwen!". When the male asked to see his book after he was done, Nikolaos to be fair....was hesitant. This was one of the last things he had from his father before coming here. But, Finley was a nice person. He watched movies with Gwen and him sometimes, so he was a good person!

Not wanting to be rude, and knowing that friends share things. He'd smile and begin to speak. "Yes! I mean.....yeah you can use it."

He quickly changed his way of speaking from awkward to a very unchilled version of what he said. Trying to be a person relatable to, like he saw in movies. But he shrugged it off and took another bite of his very soggy cereal. He would offer the book to the male, and smile.

"You can borrow it now if you want, I've practically memorized the book. It's really interesting, I think it's a cool story."

Niko would place the book down by him and tilt his head. He was still curious about what the male was gonna say earlier about his sister, he was blind to most things, but had a feeling there was more point to the conversation.

STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT - ALARIC HART

ImageHe headed to the hall with a large bag over his shoulder prompting the camp attendees outside to follow him as he passed so he could make the announcement. Other staff patrolled the camp rounding the strays up or those that chose to slumber in their cabins.

Once he was burrowed in towards the back of the hall, he begun. "Excuse me." He cleared his throat. "Excuse me." Having little success to gain their focus that way, he whistled loudly, its sound easily carrying through the hall.
"Great. Now, it has come to my attention that the camp has been making ill on its promises to help harness and flourish your powers and provide exciting activity. So today, we play an extreme capture the flag. And yes it's mandatory that you participate. As elementary as that may sound, you need it. Welcome to camp. The teams will be split up in two.."

He cleared his throat and read from his list. "The Red Spartans: Alexandria, Andromeda, Dominick, McKenna, Ji-hyun, Sloane, Theo, Harleen, Finley, Atticus, Adrianna, Kalani, Elias, Nikoloas, Lise, Mason."

He looked up from his list expecting the groans to roll in but protesting would get them nowhere.

"The Blue Trojans: Ajax, Gwendolyn, Trinity, Wesley, Sylas, Annie, Seung-min, Emery, Dimitri, Duke, Keith, Isobel, Mateo, Areum, Raven and Evelyn."

"You die, you lose. You tap out, you lose. You get your color taken from you, you lose and come back to the hall and watch."
He dropped his bag with a grunt on a nearby table with a clatter. "Your colors are at your base. These are your weapons. You do not have to use a weapon, they will not be given to you. You can use your powers." He smirked a little. "Welcome to the Hunger Games." The reference to the gripping YA book probably went over at least half the camp attendants heads. Most didn't give reading the time of day, and those that did read probably didn't concern themselves with something so modernized, their noses either stuck in the air or buried in work of literature and ancient tales instead.
Alaric was mostly referring to the cornucopia aspect. The weapons would be scattered among the woods and there’s for the taking, most of which were right at the center of the woods, gleaming and beckoning to be taken in the crossfire.
The camp attendees could figure out for themselves that the pain they could experience would be no more than a phantom pain via the weapons, traps and beasts that the very gods themselves, and some demigods designed and helped set up.

It would be best to see them treat it as real as possible.

"Do not go for fatal blows on each other," he warned as the final and only rule. A demigod turning on another demigod that way was vicious and cruel, and Alaric as well as other staff had no tolerance for it. It had no place in their camp.
"There are currently some hostile beasts prowling the woods," he assured in case anyone was disheartened by the idea of no-fatality experience. However, their very jaws and beings were enchanted so when they clamped down on a demigod fatally, they'd be warped straight to the hall. "You have two minutes to get to the woods, get your colors on, hide your flag within these perimeters," he pointed to the map's red and blue colored area on opposite ends of each other -AKA their bases, "devise a plan and create a universal safe word if you have to."

"I hope you're all awake, because time starts now."

Image "No offense taken. But with similar respect, the same could be said of a Hades child."
It was refreshing to come across someone so wise and Mason nodded with the statement to show, likewise, no offense was taken. "But, you can rest assured when I give someone my word, I follow through," Sylas added taking another grape from his bowl. "And I don't scare easily. I'm not frightened of a little bit of lightening."
Mason found himself nodding again and shrugging. Many would claim so. Jenn wasn't scared of lightening but the psycho bitch cut her head off. If you weren't scared of lightening and submissive to the spawns of Zeus they were particularly hostile because you didn't spoon-feed their massive egos.

"I think allies would be a more appropriate term. Friends aren't really in my wheel house. And no, I don't expect you to just trust me. Trust and friendship is earned... Not freely given."
"That it is."
Giving Sylas another look over Mason guessed they wouldn't evolve to such a stage. Keeping things business or as strictly allies would fit them both best. Worry of each other likely wouldn't come into the picture until after the Valises were gone. But who knew what the future held.

"Well, I mean we could simply just corner one of them... Stab stab. Job's done." Thankfully his lack of enthusiasm demonstrated that was among the most plain ideas and not a real one. "That lacks... Creativity, for lack of a better term. Sure, death is the end goal but we don't want it to be swift and merciful. It's more satisfying destroying someone, breaking them down and ruining them, root and stem."
What did he think Mason was doing? In addition to waiting for the right moment to present itself, he was trying some behind the scenes works. But he liked that Sylas liked the slower route. It was a bit more of a gamble but if it was a job done right, it would be most rewarding.
"I don't know how devious you are... But, I liked the idea of turning everyone they love against them."
Mason actually threw his hands up in the air and gestured to the hall. "Thank you! Finally someone gets it! I know I'm pretty but I haven't been spending my time doing my hair and flossing my teeth and solely thinking of ways to kill them." Mason hadn't exactly been targeting people they love to turn against them either, for the sheer fact that he couldn't even stand to be in radius of a Valis worshiper and they were harder to convert.
Actually, Mason was doing little in truth. He was just being a bit more social and charming and Alex already did the murdering. Mason did have one good asset though, however that was more an ace up the sleeve for him.

After a long moment in thought with his tongue pressed to his cheek, he spoke again. "I wouldn't mind dying to make a point. Providing old Pops brings me back." The camp needed to see the monsters under the surface. That it wasn't a one off thing. Like Sylas he wanted to ruin and bury their reputations and ruin the trust fellow demigods mistakenly placed in them. And sure, just to make it really burn, make their world collapse, turn the people they love against them.

Then, a staff member paced through the hall capturing Mason's attention. As he could have guessed, he was on a mission. Once he gathered everybody's attention, he laid out the task ahead.

It was in moments like so where Mason really had to reflect on his life choices, or certainly the choice of returning to camp and not killing Zeus's kids. Now he was teamed up with the one he despised most of all. At first he was consumed in hatred and distaste but eventually it evolved to a glimpse of opportunity. Extreme capture the flag meant full contact. In this case, it meant letting the demigods run wild like animals. Mason glanced back to Sylas. "Is the boy next door facade still staying on in the heat of competition?" He smirked and got up. Now was the time to see what those twins were made of that so easily slipped under the radar.

His legs carried him there automatically and he was in another head space entirely, even as he wrapped the band around his arm. Except when he had to tune in on the team speech, Mason supposed that might have been important. Important to feign attention in anyway as winning or losing didn't really matter to him. How many rematches could happen down the track, and what did winning really prove? That you had a good team and the right players? That they were lucky? Mason crossed his arms and waited for any outgoing brains to take initiative.

ImageTwo minutes!? Duke paced off to what was temporarily known as the Blue Trojan's base. He wasn't going to hide the flag, leaving that duty instead to the likes of Ajax or better, Seung-min. He pulled a blue bandanna and wrapped it around his forearm.

Duke pressed his tongue to his cheek on his little over-eager team. The hype was good, but they needed a strategy implemented, especially when the opposing team had the likes of Lise and McKenna. "We need defenders, attackers and maybe a mid-field. We also need to consider our biggest threats. Harleen, she's quick, she's deft, you dont want your band taken off you without knowing you've even been touched. Likewise, Andy, military brat and witch, she'll be more confrontational and physical, keep your wits about you. Kalani can seduce you, stay focused. Adrianna, I've never seen her competitive side but I can guess she has one, and not to underestimate her."
He gestured to Mateo because the very same applied to him. Then again who wasn't a threat? He gave up. "Take out the Spartans brains, healers and manipulators first, then deal with the brutes. They probably think we're a confrontational side too, that we're going in with guns blazing, but let's try to be a little more subtle. Travel in pairs if you can. Not attached at the hip though."
If there was an ambush, he’d prefer one teammate to go down and not a collective of them.
"Wes, Raven, Dimitri, Isobel cover the middle, please." Together the four made a disarming pair, and a protective one too if they accessed the right emotions and triggers, and powers of course.
"Emery, Seung-min, Sylas and Evelyn, you're our secret weapons. Aim for the Spartan's flag. Avoid the heat of the battle if you can, use evasive or defensive techniques." The four could get creative. Their gifts and applications were always a surprise and they weren't the type that urged an immediate threat. "Ajax, Trinity; they'll be expecting us. Let's not disappoint." They were probably the renowned biggest war-heads. Without them near the front line of battle, the opposition would get suspicious about their presence.
"Daniel -uh, Keith, stay as a line of defense. Gwendolyn, I think you'd make a strong offense but it depends where you want to go, you'd know where you're best kept. Annie, I think we need you to press forward too. Look after our assault team and stun some opponents. If that makes you uncomfortable, stay back with Keith."
Duke looked between the remainder of Areum and Mateo. The demigods whose attitude he most struggled to grasp. Daniel needed some help in defense, but he felt their usefulness could be better spent elsewhere. In the middle as both offensive and defensive forces.

Then he caught himself, swept up in heat of the moment. "That's my suggestion anyway," he said so the more sensitive didn't kick up a fuss about him taking lead on a strategy or 'ordering them around'. After all, he was no child of Athena or son of Zeus. "Anybody else got an idea?"

ImageKeith tried not to be so evaluating and calculating of the new state of camp. It seemed to bustle with a few more energetic bodies than last year and definitely a few more brooding faces and vibes. He felt his heart sink in the knowledge that it'd be hard to make friends. There seemed so little room for the socially awkward and everybody else already had established their "clique".

Sometimes the camp could be exceptionally boring and dull, but that was something he simply had to endure like everyone else and hope the next day would be more rewarding. His degree of boredom would just be more though. His lips pressed in a line and he plucked out his earphones and shuffled through his phone for a tune that could ignite his soul. Keith smiled slightly when he found it. Some would argue it was a little too swaggerish for him but part of him really liked it and had a guilty pleasure listening to JT.

The son of Hecate traveled through camp territory for another year of learning and fighting evil, having to suppress the urge to walk in rhythmic bounces and pull some Michael Jackson move. He made his way to hall, typically the central congregation point of people, new and regular. That, plus some staff waved him over to and pointed to it.

Some larger species of male had bumped him. "Daniel," they said casually, but he was bowing to the ground to retrieve his glasses that were knocked down on impact. He carefully placed them back on the bridge of his nose, surprised to see the brute had actually taken to stop and staring. For a round two, he prayed not.
Keith slowly rose and for some time it seemed they just stared at each other. "I'm sorry," Keith said finally and spun on his heel to take an extended detour. It wasn't worth getting his teeth knocked out and he didn't want to cause any trouble. Keith had spent some time in the gym on his holidays and become a bit more solid in build, but it was nothing that girls would second look or enough to engage in a fist-fight confidently. The hall would still be there too. He wasn't missing anything.

When he slid into the hall an announcement was happening, and he shrunk into the wall then nestled into a corner and slowly pulled out his earplugs. An extreme mandatory capture the flag...what could go wrong. Inside, Keith wanted to die there and then or dissolve into a puddle. It was like high school P.E class and the untalented still had to participate even when no one really wanted them on the team, and they didn't really want to participate, and the teachers were the only ones that thought it was a good idea in the entire universe. He sighed out and was the first to exit the hall and make his way to blue base.

Duke started rattling off a plan, and while he was smart and confident and that was semi-contagious when it came to his plan, Keith was super insecure about being the last line of defense by guarding the base especially by his lonesome. That was enough pressure for him to develop a twitch and have a nervous breakdown. But externally, there was no more displayed than light levels of anxiety.

Just as Theo had turned his flirting with Gwen all the way up, one of the camp directors came through the door and explained how the game of capture the flag would work. He rolled his eyes as Gwen was not among his teammates. As the director finished, Theo's mind immediately started spinning with ideas as he grabbed a map from a table nearby . His eyes widened as he saw which side of camp his squad had. He cracked a slight smile. They had the water at their back over by the Poseidon cabins. As his mind surveyed the landmarks of the camp he had completely memorized, he knew there was a certain rock formation on the shore that a person could hide in. His idea involved hiding the flag in the rock crevice.

He looked around at his group. Surely the newer campers would look to the veterans to formulate a game plan considering their more extensive knowledge of camp and their experience in battle. That left it up to Theo, Mason, Andy, and Alex. Theo decided it would be good time for him to step up. Mason was definitely not the type to tell everyone what to do. Andy would probably go along with anything as long as her talents were properly utilized. Alex was a Zeus child, but Theo knew she trusted him. Theo liked the opportunity to step up, and he didn't doubt that Alex would allow it. She might do her own thing out there regardless of the plan, but Theo knew for sure she could handle herself.

With that Theo stepped into the middle of the awkward circle they had formed as they got out of ear shot of the other team. "Okay, so here is what I am thinking. We have the shore on our side. Finley, you know that rock formation out by the cabin with the crevice surrounded by the taller rocks? I think we could hide the flag there. You could pull the tide out the the formation to make it even more complicated to search around there. After the flag is hidden, we need attackers and defenders. Dominick, I think you should stay back and help Finley defend the flag for sure. You could even hard freeze the water in the crevice with the flag in the very middle of the ice. That would buy us some time even if they manage to get to the flag because they would have to get it out of the ice.

Ji-Hyun, Sloane, Atticus, Adrianna, Kalani, and Nik... you guys should stay back on this side to defend. My best idea would be for you guys to pair off. This way if anyone gets in a sticky situation they always have someone to help them out. The longer we keep as many people in the game as we can, the better off we are. Two more of you should probably stay close by the flag with Dom and Fin, but the others pairs should post up somewhere else on their natural path to the flag. Think of an alert system and communicate with each other back here. As the game closes in on the flag you guys can work your way back. Right now try to defend the territory as a whole and knock a few people out. I can almost guarantee you Ajax, Duke, and Trinity are coming this way. Be ready. I'm not sure who else will be attacking though.

Andy, Alex, McKenna, Harleen, Elias, Mason, Lise, and myself would probably be best as attackers. I think we should probably go in pairs too. Think about who could complement you well. Elias I think I'd like to pair with you. I can go from high place to high place covering your back as you control things in close range on the ground. We should all spread out and canvas the area, looking for the flag, and trying to knock out their defenders. We need a signal too in case someone finds the flag or gets in trouble. Harleen, do your thing. Make their heads spin and if you have a run at the flag then get some cover and go for it. Lise and Mason... the two of you are probably the sneakiest of all of us. Try to pair up with someone aggressive who can cover you. When we find the flag, we need to go all in after the thing while the two of you try to slip in and slip away with the flag. Everyone else, let's put on a show. I think we have the better team here. Be patient. If we can knock several of their players out early, we will be in great shape. Be cautious with who you get into a fight with though. We need everyone out there as long as possible. Have fun. Stay focused. Be smart. Play to your strengths. If you can manipulate their minds, use that. If you can fight it our or shoot it out like me, use those things too. Remember, snatching their band might be easier than winning a fight. I think we can really win this thing. Anyone got any ideas for signals or anything else?"

Theo took a deep breath and looked around at his comrades for the day, satisfied with his plan, trying to judge if everyone else was too. He kept a positive tone, and he tried to make sure he didn't sound like a dictator.

A worried look crossed his face, defend. He could do that. Probably. He had been practicing his light manipulation, so he could probably create bright flashes. But other than that, he wasn't going to be much use. He didn't really take to the battle aspect of being a demigod, he primarily focused on the healing and support aspect. His kaleidoscope irises looked over to the people who were assigned the "defensive" position. Noticing he could stay close to Finley and Dominick, he jumped up to the position with an eager. "I could help Dominick and Finn, I can help heal wounds if they need, or blind enemies if they need that advantage....but if you need me to help follow the others and keep their wounds clear I can help." the boy spoke, choosing his words carefully. He made it clear he'd rather stay behind and help around the flag. But he wouldn't be opposed to become mobile. He had a range limit when it came to healing, but he'd try his best. Running a hand through his hair nervously, he would grip the hilt of the spatha he had, even though short-range wasn't his skill. He had thought he would be more of use in defense with the spatha, rather than a bow. He would look at Finn, and remember he tried speaking to him earlier.

Wes found it hard not to stare at this... Keith. Who was he? Obviously, he was no Daniel. Everything about him, from what he could tell, was the opposite of what Daniel was. Wes didn't know him as well as some of the others, but he knew enough to know something was off. He shifted uncomfortably where he stood, pursing his lips in thought. He could only hope this interesting development reached Andy at a more opportune moment. Maybe she'd be lucky enough to first hear it from Trinity's lips, instead of discovering it on her own.

And speaking of Trinity. “He would have mentioned something if he had a twin, right?”

Wes rubbed the back of his neck, then sighed. "I think you should warn her," he cleared his throat before continuing. "Andy... That's if she doesn't run into him on the battlefield."

He remained quiet and attentive listening to the rest of the battle plan. It all seemed like sound logic in his opinion, but he doesn't particular have a mind for battle strategy. Hopefully, Wes could just hold his ground with whomever... Or, whatever crossed his path. There might be a small handful of people at the camp that he could take on, but that wasn't promising. Part of him wished he could be the one to capture the other teams flag. It definitely put him under a new light, instead of the Aphrodite kid that lost his arm in the war last year. Not that Wes was ever a force to be reckoned with in the first place, but he liked the idea... Even if he knew it wouldn't happen.

“Where do you want it?”

Wes' attention was brought back to the blonde beside him. He then glanced about himself trying to figure out the best place to put those. With one hand, his wrist wouldn't be the most practical place. His hand grabbed the hem of his shirt, while his index finger tapped his belt loop. Once she fastened it for him, he smiled slightly. "Thanks."

“Seriously though, Wes, use your powers and be an ass because people won't give you the same mercy.” He looked around at the other members of their team as Trinity tried to give Wes a pep talk. He knew this all was practice to prepare them all for real battle, but these were all their friends, companions and comrades. He exhaled deeply through his nose. “If they're in red, they're the enemy,” she added.

He sighed, with a slight smirk and a roll of his eyes. "I'm battle inept, not color blind."

Trin then grabbed his chin, forcing him to look down at her. “Don't make me have to give you rage,” she teased.

Wes subconsciously leaned his head into her touch, just a little. He gave her a final nod. "Yes ma'am," he replied before she walked away to talk to Ajax.

He stood there for a minute, his hand mindlessly tugging and adjusting his colors that were attached to his belt loop. Finally, Wes walked over to the bag of weapons Alaric left on the table for them. He stared down at what was left, trying to decide what to grab. He only had one arm, after all, which limited what he could carry and accomplish. Wes wasn't much of a fighter, so defense was always the best strategy but he still needed something incase he came upon one of the monsters out there. He sifted through the bag until he found a shield with a strap, that allowed him to wear it over his back similar to a backpack. With his hand free, he snatched up a spear, remembering he was somewhat decent with one against the Hydra last year.

With no more time to waste, Wes took a deep breath and headed out into the thick of things. He started out through the woods, making sure to branch out from the others. He moved in a forward direction, in what he could only hope was toward the other team's flag. After a minute or so of walking, he found himself in the thicket of the woods. Of course, he couldn't stay out in the open. Someone like Andy or Alex would be on him in the blink of the eye if he was openly visible. So he needed to be somewhere that he could see everything, where he could be mildly camouflaged.

He found a large evergreen tree, and slowly walked up to its truck. From only a few feet away the stalk of the tree is hidden behind the pine needles, but once under it you could see all the way up to the top. Wes sighed, slipping the spear between his back and the shield. "You can climb a tree with one hand," he muttered quietly to himself reassuringly as he wiped his palm off on his jeans.

It wasn't the most graceful thing ever, but Wes managed to ascend the tree. It took a couple slips and broken branches to fully get the swing of something so simple, that usually called for all four appendages. Once he was high enough up, he could see far enough back to their own flag, and forward to what he could presume was either the middle, or just beyond. He adjusted himself on the branch until he was steady enough to allow movement without throwing off his balance. His fingers then snapped a couple small twigs to allow for better visibility without removing his camouflage.

Then he waited. At least up high, Wes was out of reach of most monsters. He was at a good height to where he could jump down to help a team mate, or stop an opponent... Or try at least.

As Theo talked, assigning a plan of attack and defense for them, Andy did her best to make her rounds to her fellow teammates. Each one she gave a gentle tap on the shoulder, giving them some basic, light weight leather armor and such. It wasn't so much for going against the other campers, but for the monsters. She wasn't exactly sure what they would come across in the wounds, but a little extra protection never hurt any body.

She returned to Mason's side just as Theo finished. To no surprise, herself and Mason would be attackers. It made sense, and honestly, Andy would probably go crazy if she was told to stand around and play defense. She wasn't, by any means, a defensive player. Her mind was hard wired to attack, attack, attack. Luckily as well, Theo's mind was where hers was in the scheme of partnering up. That always seemed to be a strong strategy, especially when the two had varying abilities and skills which made them strong compliments.

"Couldn't have said it any better," Alex chimed in, catching Andy's attention. "I just want to add. No doubt others will want to take out the beasts, but we could use them couldn't we? Mason." Andy shifted uncomfortably where she stood, but only slightly. Something about actually hearing Alex say his name heightened her senses. Ever since everything that happened last year, she could't help but get tense whenever whenever Ajax or Alex mention Mason, or vice versa. "He could tame the beasts, or would that be considered as cheating? I mean, Alaric did say we can use our powers."

"Let's not pretend cheating matters to you," Mason replied coldly.

Andy parted her lips to reply, but thankfully Kalani chimed in in her own chipper way that quickly changed the tone. "I mean, I could always help with that? Since I'm pretty sure my abilities would come in handy to get them onside. Just a thought."

"And I can try. We can try," Mason added.

Andy nodded her head in acknowledgement. "I think that's a good idea. I can conjure up cages and help distract or corral them. I'd rather not kill them unless absolutely necessary. Mason was able to calm a minotaur last year," she added while motioning her hand toward him. "And Wes was able to make giants chase after their own kind of out obsession. Your powers could be really useful, Kalani." Andy smiled toward her.

"I could help Dominick and Finn, I can help heal wounds if they need, or blind enemies if they need that advantage....but if you need me to help follow the others and keep their wounds clear I can help," Nik offered.

Andy looked over toward Theo who was already partnering up and planning his strategy with Elias. And Alex was gone almost instantly. So, she took a step toward Nik with a smile. "I think defense is perfect. If anyone gets hurt, we'll have them retreat back to the flag. If things get... Intense, I'll shoot up a flare or something." She smiled, giving him a pat on the shoulder before she returned back to Mason.

"Let's go." Mason gestured toward her and she hurried to his side. As they started into the wood, her right hand hovered around her throwing knives while her left was slightly extended before her, ready to use magic at a moment's notice. They hadn't been walking for long when Mason spoke up. "So what happened last night huh?" His words took her by surprise, causing Andy to nearly trip over her own feet. This was probably the worst time for small talk, especially about that. Her heart began to pound in her chest as she swallowed hard, looking over at him.

"You know, I actually had a little more faith in you. What’s worse is you’re supposed to be better than that. You know what he’s done, where he’s been but you act like a little teen girl with no self control. I mean what’d he do? Blow in your ear, tell you he loves you? If I wanted to conquer someone in the sac, I’d do that too, Andy!"

Andy froze where she stood, her mouth a gape as the true sting of his words hit her like a knife in the gut. Part of her wanted to just walk away and not humor whatever Mason decided to be mad at her about this time. Part of her wanted to defend herself. And another part wanted to punch him. She could feel the anger boiling up in her, the anger and the pain. Her emotions have been so raw and unfiltered since the new year and camp. She found it more and more difficult to sensor herself or suppress her anger.

But she couldn't stop herself before the words fell from her lips like poison. "Conquer me? Is that what I am? A conquest?" Andy could feel the tears stinging her eyes when she finally spoke. "Well, which is it Mason? Am I supposed to be a virgin saint or a conquest?" She stepped in front of him, making direct and unwavering eye contact. "What fucking right do you have to judge me?" Andy jabbed her index finger in the air toward him with each word.

She took a deep breath as a silent tear ran down her cheek as she searched his face for an answer. Mason was supposed to be her best friend, yet he judged her and got mad at her every turn she made. There was no way to win. "Where in the hell is this coming from!? Why do you even—" Then Andy froze, the realization hitting her over the head like a baseball bat. Jealousy. She exhaled a sharp breath and sniffled back the tears. "Gods, do you know how hard it is to tell how you feel about me? If you hate or love me? You are always mad at me. Nothing I do is good enough for you. You don't trust me. And you talk down to me as if it's only a matter of time before I turn against you and leave you!"

Andy took a step toward him, trying to lower her voice to not give away their location. But, in the same breath the deeper in anger she fell, the more vulnerable she became and the more truths came out. "I have never betrayed you and I won't. I care so much about you, Mason. I love you. You are one of the most important people to me... and you don't even care." Her hands fell to her sides as she shrugged, exasperated. "I guess you have your answer then, don't you? Maybe if you learned to trust me and open up to me..." her voice trailed off. It'd be you, not Ajax. Her eyes fell. She didn't need to say it.

"You know what, fuck this." He put his hand in the air out of frustration, then turned and left in a cloud of smoke.

Andy nodded her head, tucking her lips between her teeth as she nodded her head. She took in a shaky breath, raising her hands to wipe her eyes, but they froze as they covered her face. She just wanted to melt where she stood. Right then and there, she had half a mind to rip off her colors and storm off. She could get pretty far away before anyone noticed she left. Her fingers pinched the fabric of her colors as she looked down at it. Just as she was about to tear it free she heard footsteps approaching from behind and a deep guttural growl rumble in the foliage to her left.

"I'll hang back, just in case any stragglers get through."

Sylas quirked a brow at the comment. He didn't have to know Ajax well to know that it was out of character. From the stories he'd heard about Mr. Perfect-pants, he was always one of the first people to charge into battle right alongside his warrior woman that Mason was secretly lusting after. Yet, here stood the mighty Ajax himself, opting to stay back to take care of stragglers? Pathetic. This was the guy that all these campers looked up to? A man who out of no where loses his courage and pusses out? Of course, now this meant Sylas wouldn't be fighting alongside him during capture the flag. But, with the right about of leverage it could be the pinnacle catalyst to cause a turning point in power at this retched camp. Small moments like these cause a snow ball effect.

"Can we join hands for a moment or touch? It’s not to pray, I promise you.” He glanced over at the redhead, and at first he was apprehensive. But, regardless if he desired to or not, he had to keep up the pretenses. So, he extended his right hand and placed it on the shoulder of the person closest to him. Then like a wave that washed over him, his senses were heightened almost like a drug but without the crash.

Sylas went over to the provided weapons, glancing over the options. Unlike most of the others, he went for a more subtle, underestimated piece. A sword that looked similar to a pirate's or a fencing sword. Small, thin but light weight. It didn't look like it could do much damage, but a cut in the right place is always deadly. Unlike more common swords, one like this is light which makes for quicker and more agile movements. Speed is always crucial in battle.

With weapon in hand, Sylas walked over to Duke and Ajax just as Trinity headed off in one direction. "I guess I'll take the left side," he said while pointing his hand in the direction he intended on traveling. His gaze drifted over toward Ajax. "If you change your mind, just follow the West side of the forest. I'm going to try and flank." He gave them both a pat on the shoulder before he disappeared into the thick of the woods.

It seemed, so far, luck was on Sylas' side as he traveled through the trees with haste. He hadn't come across any of the beasts, although he heard a couple in the distance as they broke twigs under foot or started their pursuit of another camper. On occasion, he'd see a brief glimpse of a Spartan zipping through the tree line, heading in the opposite direction toward his team's flag. But he ignored it. Ajax was there to take care of stragglers after all. And if he failed? Well, wouldn't that be an interesting development.

Sylas' footsteps slowed when he heard two voices in the direction he approached. He came up behind a boulder, slowly and cautiously leaning his head around the large object. His gaze was met by the sight of Mason and the back of a brunette's head. Due to the fact Mason wasn't trying to kill the girl, he could only assume it was Andy. Making sure he was out of sight, he held his hand in Andy's direction and closed his eyes. Instead of feelings of anger, he let despair, worthlessness and dread flow from himself and into the woman. He didn't wish to aid her anger at Mason, but make herself worth fade. Like planting a seed, he placed feelings of hopelessness, and longing... Longing for Mason's approval and fear of losing him.

Giving it a moment or two after Mason left, Sylas held his sword at the ready and came out in the opening. He stopped a few feet behind her, holding the tip of his blade toward the back of her neck. His body tensed slightly, when he too heard the growl that came from the left. "Sounds like we're not alone," he replied with a smugness. "I give it... 30 seconds before whatever that is decides to join us. So, how about you hand over your colors now and make it easier on the both of us."
