Pete Drakos's Story

He watched Alex march from Ajax to Wes and play with his priced invention rather than put it on the one-armed son of Aphrodite. But it was a peek of old Alex so he didn't intervene and let the friends bond...at the insult and expense of the prosethic arm.

Suddenly someone bumped shoulders into him by way of greeting. “Hey, it’s you!” The guy from the hall said with a smile on his face.

"Very observant," Duke told him, not bothering to strain a smile back.

“Aren’t you supposed to be off shagging a certain something?” Duke stopped to look at him and his ridiculous grin. “Didn't I give you an order soldier boy?” he added.

Duke outright scoffed. He then squinted as if trying to recall the moment. "Something like that...I think, yeah. But I don't take orders from pigs, Pete." He'd have to thank Alex later for giving his name up though she saw nothing in it, of course. "Your concern in either my sex life or Alex's sex life is very touching, but I'm not some primate that's going to 'shag' a girl because you say. It's kinda sick and sad that that's your order as a son of Hera. You should see someone about that." Duke gave him a brutish smack on the back, like friends do obviously.

Duke kept in stride with the man with black fluff on his head. "I would say your investment is in her over me. If that's the case, you can keep me out of it and 'just shag her yourself mate'. Or you could be more classy, ask for a date, get a first kiss, go from there." But Duke had already established he was a pig so he didn't have high hopes for Pete's class or ability to attract people, much more attract Alex. Maybe that's why he was so insecure and unpleasant. Obviously Hera didn't teach this one too good.

He didn't feel like judging her was the accurate term. He was just disappointed in her, there was a difference. And the thought of her with him was haunting. And imagine if every guy could get away with it - they wouldn't. Suddenly Andy had slapped him causing his cheek to radiate pain and turn in the whole direction.

Mason eventually turned his dark gaze back to her. "What do you want? What? Do you want to hear the truth? That I am jealous? Yes, Mason... I am jealous. I have no right to be... But I am."

He might have taken the information better if his cheek wasn't on fire, but he kept his firm gaze on her. "You're so hurtful... You know that? I wish it was that easy for you to say how you really feel."

Andy headed in her own direction while Mason was left in his own thoughts. He finally put a hand to his cheek and rubbed it. He wouldn't be surprised if he had a handprint left on him because that was a nasty swing as well as a sign he had stepped over the line. Ajax approached by the time Mason was able to collect his thoughts and even think about reapproaching Andy. She was one of the few on his side and after the things she had done for him and Jennova...and he let his personal feelings get in the way.

Soon Ajax stormed away, bitching about something that he didn't hear. “Yikes, looks like that didn’t go too well.” Some arms wrapped themselves around him and he sighed with no energy left to fight her. “Don’t worry, I’d be happy to fix it for you.” She laughed and kissed the side of his neck once, which Mason recoiled at.

"Is your new toy not working?" Mason asked and gestured to the blonde male she had ridden with.

Eve drifted away but wasn't done tormenting him. “Did your poor precious heart skip a bit when she said the J word?” Mason just looked at her little mock show before she touched him again. “Be honest.”

That itch just took over as if he had to tell the truth. He couldn't spill a lie or he would implode. "Yes," he muttered. "I like that she's jealous. She doesn't know the half of it yet though..." Mason wanted her to feel what he felt, but the only thing he had to answer to the blonde was how he felt when Andy admitted she was jealous. "And babe," he pulled Evangeline back to him, "try keep your urges in your pants. Don't want people thinking you're for sale or this is an open relationship." Like Eve, he dipped his head down and kissed her on the neck, only adding teeth - firm enough to hurt her, though he could already hear Eve playing it off as kinky. He shoved her away and smacked her butt before wandering elsewhere since kindness incarnate and a Goddess had approached Andy, meaning she was safe from Eve and himself for a while.

Mason needed to clear his head with the trial minutes away.

Once back at Mount Olympus, he gently took a hold of his daughter's arm, causing her to flinch before she realised who had taken hold of her. "Forgive me, Wesley. I need to talk with my daughter before the trial. Ares... Athena..." he didn't need to say anything else to them, for they knew what they needed to do. They lead the other Campers to be seated around the upper level of the arena where the view of the entire trial would be seen clearly from there.

As Zeus and Alex headed to the lower section of the Acropolis to the ground level of the arena, the braziers flickered to life. It was a dark corridor with no windows, wide enough for a carriage with its dark stone walls. "I visited your mother's resting place today," he told her. "Such a beautiful and peaceful place."

"Yeah... it's always been her favorite. Father... I... do you still love Mom?"

"I do." he smiled. "I always have, and I always will. You remind me of her every day. I shall never forget the first day we met... or the day that you and Ajax were born. It was the happiest moments of my life. I was lucky to have such a woman fall in love with me. Even though she was only mortal, she was a Goddess to me. A beautiful, kind, strong-willed, and courageous woman, who stole my heart the second she smiled. Your mother was too good for this Earth. She'll be proud of you, Alex. I know this because I am too."

She lowered her head and walked right into her father's torso, her face hidden there as she allowed the tears to fall. His arm and hand cradled her head as he placed a kiss on the top of it. It wasn't just her father's words that had set her off or the trial... it was everything from last year.


"Now," he pulled her back gently, his hands resting over both of her shoulders before he cupped her face. "Prepare yourself. You can do this." he placed one kiss to her forehead before he headed out of the large doors to the arena.

She smiled a little, but it faded when she caught sight of Hades in the crowd before the doors shut behind her father. He had been looking straight at her with nothing but a cold stare. He was determined to see her downfall, and then, her brother's and father's.

Her jaw clenched and twisted at the very thought of Hades doing his best to steer the trial in his favor. Others would watch and listen, blinded by his poisonous lies as he swayed the crowd to take his side with flowery words of reason, and Mason would turn on the charm alongside his father, changing the minds of those who once stood loyal to the children of Zeus.

She clenched her teeth behind her screwed up lips. It took everything inside of her to not allow her head to run from her with nothing but negative thoughts, but she couldn't stop it. She cried out as she violently threw her right fist forward into the closest wall, Knuckles crashing into the hard layer of marble. A loud crack, which echoed down the corridor, raced up the wall as she paused to look down at her knuckles covered in blood. Her nostrils flared with a heavy breath. It felt good. The adrenalin that rushed through her entire body, the urge to pummel a God into next week felt good. She pictured Hades trapped beneath her, while over, and over the power behind each punch dug a deeper hole into the wall with blood that dripped onto the floor.

It was not long before Hurried footsteps headed in her direction from behind her, followed by two hands that seized her. They pulled her back with almost no effort at all. "Stop!" Ajax yelled as she became restrained to his strength. He was stronger due to being older, and more advanced in his training. "Deep breaths." he told her, yet again. Her brother had stopped her so many times from going too far, and once he thought she had calmed down, he let her go and watched as she turned to face him. "You done?" she nodded in reply. "Good." he tossed the bracelet to her, which she took hold of once it hit her chest. We found Hecate, but it's not good news... the bracelet was cursed, but it isn't anymore."

Alex threw the damn thing to the ground. "How am I supposed to convince everyone now?"

Ajax sighed. "I don't know. You'll still have people on your side, Al."

"Lucky me." she sighed this time and headed over to the arena doors, bracing her hands against it. Zeus had finished with setting up the trial no doubt since he was calling for her to join them. With her hands still braced against the door, she lovered her head and closed her eyes.

"You'll be okay." If only people could stop telling her that. It already wasn't okay. She should have never stepped in this place, to begin with. How was anyone ever going to forgive her after this? Ajax will always be known as the murderer's big brother.

she took a deep breath and pushed open the doors.

All eyes were on her as she made her way to the center of the arena.

She looked up into the crowd, taking in the faces that she wouldn't likely see again, and the faces she was happy to never see again. She found herself glaring in Mason's direction as Hades sat comfortably beside him. "Alexandria Valis. Daughter of Zeus." Ares's voice spoke, causing Alex to now look at him. "You stand trial for the murder of Jennova Ambers. Daughter of Hades, and sister to Mason. How do you plead?" At first, it seemed like a mortal courtroom with Areas as one of the judges lawyers.

Part of her wanted to just plead guilty, to give Mason and his father the benefit of her death. She, however, would happily be on her way to see her mother again... if the afterlife even existed. Her father never could speak of it, for it was against the rules no doubt.

If the fates had decided that today was her day... then so be it, but she wasn't going to go down without a good fight. She hadn't forgotten what Duke had told her, and that was the reason for her answer. "Not guilty." she replied with no hesitation as her father overwatched the entire thing from his throne. He clenched his fists in excitement, almost jumping up from where he sat. His little girl wasn't giving up.

"With the Gods and their children present... we all bare witness to her plead. Now..." he addressed the crowd once more. "Speak on behalf of yourself, or another... for, or against miss Valis."

“Oh, I think she was lookin’ for someone else and I scared the lass away.” Made sense. Liam wasn't the most approachable guy.

“Well, you are a little intimidating. Just a bit,” Andy said, speaking her mind. Trinity smiled and drew her own gap using her arms.

“Let's get our asses to the Trial, aye?”

Yeah, it wasn't actually much of a choice now was it, she wanted to grumble but refrained.

“What was her name, by the way?”

Even if Liam hadn't stopped, his inquiry brought Trinity to a halt in itself. Then she met Andy's look and it seemed they were on level with each other again. “Sloane... I honestly don't know her lastname... Or her parentage. I've been... preoccupied.”

She mentally self-fived for getting a reserved demigod's name right. She kinda lived in her violent bubble but she picked up on names pretty quickly, particularly when it came to teams and Trinity wanted to anticipate who was friend and foe in a game like capture the flag. Still, she knew jack all about Sloane beyond her first name. Another factor Andy and Trinity had in common was going through their own rough patches: being preoccupied as Andy put it, and Andy's was hella lot busier than her.

Trinity followed blindly and let herself be led by an anxious Andy, feeling her grip tighten now and then on her arm that already had claw marks and bruises. Trinty put her free hand over Andy's and would have given her strength if it was the kind she needed. “If your father smites me for accidentally laughing in his face, you'd mourn me... right?”

“So badly. Especially when there are so many others to smite first.” It wasn't nice or joking enough to lighten the atmosphere. “Like...bad drivers,” she added. Man, did they piss the world off. Probably just as well Trinity didn't have the power of the Gods.

They drew closer and closer and Andy's grip tightened more on her arm. It didn't hurt, but it still drew a frown in confusion from Trinity. She wasn't a mind reader to know why Andy was so worked up about it. “Andy, you're not the one on trial, you know that right?”

Then finally before they entered the arena, she snapped out of her little anxious spell. “Sorry... If you don't want to stay, I won't stop you. You could slip out without anyone noticing... I have to stay. I don't know if I would forgive myself if I didn't speak... the truth.”

Trinity nodded and smiled at her friend. Andy slipped forward while Trinity hung back, mulling it over in her mind. She glanced to Liam. Would the same apply to him? Would he let her head back? It wasn't a life or death choice but Trinity acted as though it was, really weighing the pros and cons. At the current time, she was living a pretty good philosophy, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. She wasn't sure that would hold in the trial though.

“Err, I have to watch.” She knew if she didn't, she'd feel guilty later on for not supporting her friend. Or even regret witnessing the grim outcome of the trial. As much as she craved her space, this was more important. “Maybe you should sit next to me so I can look like an angel and folks can remember what a real threat looks like,” she said. Plus, he was the perfect 'don't come near me' barrier. She started to walk again even if it was reluctant.

“Of course,” she spun on her heels to face her brother, “you don't have to.” He probably knew that but in case there was any obligation cause family loyalty and all that fun stuff. “If you'd rather sit with a certain brunette that's like, this high and this shape,” Trinity drew some rough measurements with her arms and chuckled, “I won't blame you.” Though Sloane appeared quiet to Trinity, she was probably better in the terms of company.

The time for jokes had quickly disappeared as the trial had begun and Trinity fell into a seat near Andy. She didn't quite reach beside her friend, but she was around, a couple of rows back. Then the test began for Trinity to keep her mouth closed, or at least until she could figure out how to say what she wanted. Wes spoke up. Quick to kiss Alex's a- his arm! Trinity almost smiled for him. He wasn't disadvantaged anymore. Daily chores would be easier and it looked wicked. Then she remembered they were hardly on speaking terms and he scored himself a date with another blonde.

Trinity gave it a little more of a brew for a couple seconds then spoke, “Look,” Trinity rose then rolled her eyes getting the formalities out of the way, “- Trinity Wallace, Daughter of Ares. I don't know much about the actual events except word of mouth. Mason, Theo and myself were absent on a mission. I know Alex killed Jennova, but that doesn't make her a murderer. She doesn't have murderous tendencies, trust me I know. If anything, after she killed Jennova, was when she became a little unhinged. But I'm a strong believer of an eye for an eye, and I'm not sure who started it. So either payback is due and she should face some form of punishment in the eyes of the Gods, or Alex ended the cycle with Jennova.” That was more inserting her two cents in the suggestion box than speaking for or against Alex. Personally, given how it all happened, she thought Alex should have faced some punishment regardless.

Not long after Trinity had sat, Andy spoke. solidifying Alex in the wrong. “That's rough, killing someone unarmed with their sibling out of town,” she mumbled. Even Liam and Trinity gave the opponent a chance. Then again, part of Alex's unhingement was her rambling on about getting proof and finding herself so maybe there wasn't fair play all around. And maybe Trinity was just in the mood for others to have pain inflicted upon them.

As he received a friendly wack across the back, Pete wheezed out a cough as he felt the disks in his back get thrown out of alignment. He was good at making people hostile, seemed it was a talent that never went away. “That’s disappointing.” He muttered before looking back at the walking six pack. “With all this going on, Alex would have enjoyed the whole 2 minutes of fun.”

Ready to call the conversation if you could call it that to an end, Pete walked on, but Duke fell in beside him. "I would say your investment is in her over me. Pete paused then, he turned to look over at Alex, in time to watch her walking out with her father. Completely ignoring Duke, he gazed after her, was he interested in her? Of course. He was curious what her deal was, like an addict with an itch to scratch, he hated not knowing what made her tick. She was his type; nothing but trouble. Though she seemed far too much a centre of attention kind of girl.

“I’m not sure she’s my type, bud.” Pete answered eventually, as he turned his eyes back to Duke. An honest answer even if it came out his mouth sounding sarcastic and insincere. “Thanks for the advice though, not sure it’ll matter much though. Even a good looking guy like you might have trouble wooing a dead girl.” He spoke the truth, a big thing like this only went two days, she lives or she dies, and well, anyone with good sense would bet on dead.

Before the two of them could continue any further down that route, they were joined by a mechanic arm, plus a person attached to it. "I'm Wes," he said holding out the mechanical arm, which promptly crushed Pete’s arm when he tried to return the handshake. "Uh sorry, it seems Duke here makes a good product and I need to learn its strength." Of course, his name was Duke.

Pete’s eye flicked up to Duke, looking at him in a more appraisingly light, colour him impressed. Pete’s not a nut and bolts guy, and he’d never be caught dead actually working on something with his hands, but he could tell craftsmanship when he saw it. “Seems you’re more than a pretty face then?” He said, a genuine compliment since he didn’t do fake platitudes. He turned back to Wes with a nod of his head. “Pete.”

The two guys hugged before Wes spoke again, "Do you mind if I sit with you?... I... Think it'd be easier for her if she could see us all together to support her." And Pete couldn’t stop the wry, mocking smile that took over his features.

He butt in before Duke had a chance to answer. “Aren’t you two just the cutest? Though I’m afraid I’ll have to pass. Catch up with you later Duke.” Pete said, giving him a one finger wave before wandering off towards the trail. He really wasn’t a group hang sort of guys, and well quite frankly the idea of showing solidarity to support someone made him want to barf.

He spotted the perfect spot for him though, right up the back, unseen and out of the way. Slipping into a spot next to Sloane and using the empty back rows to stretch out his legs. Alex declared herself not guilty then the talking begun, and he started to feel like his ears were bleeding. This trial had far too much chit chat for his liking, get to the point.

He turned to Sloane while Trinity was speaking. “Reckon she did it?” he asked his voice barely more than a dark murmur, he didn’t want to actually seem obnoxious to the people sitting around him.

Alex was escourted away and that's when Wes approached, prosethic arm finally attached. "They came for her," he said.

"I know, I saw." Duke didn't stray too far from Alex, keeping her within peripheral or some decent feet away. He didn't habitually helicopter around her but these past few days when emotions were high, he would be in reach sometimes.

Wes and Pete acquainted themselves, with Wes mentioning its strength and Pete dropping off a remark about Duke being more useful than looks, but he was in another world.

"You'll get used to it. It's probably just the dynamics and weight attached to the shoulder, making it feel more powerful."

"Thanks, by the way." Wes pulled Duke into a hug. Duke pat his back, accepting the gratitude but he wasn't all that a fan of how Wes showed it. "Promised Alex I'd give you a hug" Wes laughed.

Duke smiled slightly. "There are some strange promises to keep." But he didn't doubt Alex would have mentioned his name in passing. Wes didn't hug people for fun or so Duke thought anyway.

"Do you mind if I sit with you?... I... Think it'd be easier for her if she could see us all together to support her."

He didn't know why but he looked to Pete first, and that's when another comment left him. “Aren’t you two just the cutest? Though I’m afraid I’ll have to pass. Catch up with you later Duke.”

Duke sighed, watching Pete go. Now they all knew each other's names. He then shrugged to the son of Aphrodite. "Whatever the reason, it's not a problem by me. I don't own the Acropolis."

They settled in, getting as close as possible to Alex who seemed exposed in the arena. How many eyes must have leered at her from all angles, but that was part of the design...to pass judgement onto her. Duke suddenly felt uneasy for her. Then Ares spoke and Alex swore herself not guilty making him smile slightly. But the worse was yet to come as Ares opened the floor to speak for or against her. He was surprised by Wes, who sprang up beside him quickly and said his piece describing the real nature of Alex.

Duke nodded in agreement then stood as well. "I'm Duke Loycen, son of Hephaestus. I've known Alex for a couple of years, enough to say I know her well. Commonly, there's signs of a killer being born or a sociopath and she displayed and even now displays none of that. She's not a murderer or a monster. I know that hurting Jennova weighs on her conscience, so I don't think it was deliberate and I don't think it was premeditated. Killing isn't in her or her instinct. Something must have pushed her, whether circumstances or a person." That's all he could share before nodding and sitting back down, eyes on Alex.

H A D E S

Alex glared at his son as he sat beside him but it phased neither of them. For as long as they were in Olympus and she, being held on trial, she couldn't strike physical lightning at them, otherwise, her case would be quickly resolved. Even Zeus could not save her from justice then. "It is a pity she couldn't even dress up for the occasion. Such arrogance," Hades said, keeping his eyes on the demigod. To put her under the illusion they were whispering malicious things was all the better.

Ares began the trial rather than Zeus. "Alexandria Valis. Daughter of Zeus. You stand trial for the murder of Jennova Ambers. Daughter of Hades, and sister to Mason. How do you plead?"

Hades observed the trial though he looked nonchalant. He was listening to those who tried to find a way to justify her actions and those who rightly spoke against. He rose when the opportunity presented in no haste to say his part. "I will remind those present that this trial isn't about intentions and an individual's belief, but the actions of the Daughter of Zeus. We all know what that was, and as a result, I have no daughter anymore. And he, without a sister. In robbing this one life, you have robbed others and you have forbidden growth," he said locking eyes on the dear daughter of Zeus. "Jennova was a girl. Around the same age as the children present, no more powerful, no wiser. She attended this Camp because she wanted to better herself, like many demigods. Even I thought it would be a sanctuary, but it appears it is where the vile are permitted to roam."

Mason smiled at his father's comment and the accuracy of it. They weren't having a party or social gathering, she could show some respect to the Gods culture. The trial was quickly underway before he could shoot his own comment back, and Hades and Mason fell silent.

"Not guilty." Mason scowled. Alex was intolerable. How do you decapitate someone and plead not guilty?

The God then invited an open floor to speak for or against Alex and that's when Wes piped up. With two arms. Mason almost had to do a double-take. "I'm Wesley Preston... Not that that matters. Alex is my best friend. She is a good and kind person, who would sooner fall on her blade for someone else rather than be the one to take a life. There is no way that she did this without being under the influence of someone else. I would stake my life on her innocence."

Mason had a passing thought to put that in effect. Wes was just lucky he had looks to cover the naivety, then again, it wasn't even him being naive, he was just stupidly loyal. Duke said his own shit supporting Alex too. He would remember the things that came from those two mouths.

Then Trinity spoke and he had faith in her...“Look - Trinity Wallace, Daughter of Ares. I don't know much about the actual events except word of mouth. Mason, Theo and myself were absent on a mission. I know Alex killed Jennova, but that doesn't make her a murderer. She doesn't have murderous tendencies, trust me I know. Andy stood up seeming to surprise herself but Mason remained mutual. He didn't know how it was going to go with the fight they had. "I was the first person at the scene... I thought it might be beneficial to recount what I witnessed." He leaned forward as his leg bounced in anticipation. Would she say Jennova was hostile and had it coming? "I remember it started to rain... blood. There was no visibility, like walking through a blizzard. I somehow wondered my way to Jennova's cabin where I found her... them. Alex stood on the porch to Jennova's cabin. And Jennova... She was on the ground, decapitated." Mason winced and lowered his head. He still hated to imagine the image. "I then went and got Ajax. When I returned... I buried her." Mason winced again. Andy didn't have to do that, it wasn't her responsibility, he should have been there instead. "Jennova was unarmed. It looked like a murder... in cold blood."

Mason sighed out glad to have the recount over with and glad that Andy had said her part when she didn't have to. For that he was grateful. Then Hades rose and spoke. Very well, too. Mason never even looked at killing Jennova as robbing more than one life but it was the truth, it had started a chain effect and killed a bit of Mason inside too and others that loved her. She might not have had many demigod friends but there was a whole other aspect of her life they didn't know about.

Hades sat and side glanced to Mason pointedly. That was going to be tough to follow but he'd try. "Jennova was also kind, but many of you didn't get a chance to see that side of her." Some tears were forming in his eyes but he soldiered on. "I had a tough growing up, and Jennova was my anchor. She taught me to control my death touch which is an important power to be in control of." He smiled a little. But these idiots wouldn't know how vital it was to learn. They couldn't imagine.

Mason felt the cold take over and locked eyes on Duke. Not premeditated, was it? Then he looked to Alex. "As Trinity said, I was away. On a quest for Zeus himself to find another demigod. And as Andy said, Jennova was alone and unarmed...then decapitated. She was a lonely girl, that was well known...Did she threaten any of you and your safety, once?" He slammed a fist on the stands. "She was better than me! She tried to socialise, she tried to help you, she was staff!"

"Emotional is not the way to proceed," Hades said lowly.

Mason sighed deeply and calmed himself to speak evenly again. "I wish I was a son of Hecate for a day, so I could show you all what it's like to come back to camp and hear your sibling is dead, the one time you left them unprotected. So you could see their heads disconnected from their bodies." Mason targetted Daniel. Once upon a time all he'd have to do is ask his friend to pull them into an illusion. "But even the son of Hecate's dead because the children of Zeus only care about themselves and their emotions."

"My mind is not going to change. Alex is a murderer. She murdered my sister and it would be a whole different story if it was one of your siblings. So keep them close."

"I'm Wesley Preston... Not that that matters," Alex never liked him doing that to himself, talking like he didn't matter. He did matter, and he was just as important to the Camp as anyone else. "Alex is my best friend. She is a good and kind person, who would sooner fall on her blade for someone else rather than be the one to take a life. There is no way that she did this without being under the influence of someone else. I would stake my life on her innocence." He looked towards her, giving her a slight smile which she returned. "She's not a murderer." Alex looked to the Gods that stood in the room. She tried to see if she could make out their reactions to Wes's words, but none of them even flickered any clue of emotion. Still, Wes had done his best to voice his thoughts about her, to try and show the rest of the room that she really wasn't a monster.

Duke came second. "I'm Duke Loycen, son of Hephaestus. I've known Alex for a couple of years, enough to say I know her well. Commonly, there's signs of a killer being born or a sociopath and she displayed and even now displays none of that. She's not a murderer or a monster. I know that hurting Jennova weighs on her conscience, so I don't think it was deliberate and I don't think it was premeditated. Killing isn't in her or her instinct. Something must have pushed her, whether circumstances or a person." He sat back down, and with his eyes on her, Alex smiled. She felt proud of both, him, and Wes. Both of them had stood up before everyone and not cared about what others might think of them for taking a 'murderers' side.

It was a good start, but Andy soon leveled everything with her speech. Of course, she would take Mason's side, but had they forgotten that Hades also tried to kill Ajax before Andy placed herself in harms way instead? It should have been Hades standing trial. Not Alex, who took in a deep breath to ready herself to hear what Andy now had to say. "I was the first person at the scene... I thought it might be beneficial to recount what I witnessed. I remember it started to rain... blood. There was no visibility, like walking through a blizzard. I somehow wondered my way to Jennova's cabin where I found her... them. Alex stood on the porch to Jennova's cabin. And Jennova... She was on the ground, decapitated. I then went and got Ajax. When I returned... I buried her. Jennova was unarmed. It looked like a murder... in cold blood." Alex remembered it now her memories were back in full swing, which is the reason why she lost most of her sanity. All of the memories hitting her like a sledgehammer to the gut with no intervals to catch her breath. Still, even if the memories had formed slowly over time, it still wouldn't have made a difference. She still felt guilt and disgust for taking another's life.

She could still picture the way it happened, blood, Jennova's blood, dripping from the blade of her sword. If she was murderous, then she would have killed Andy for bearing witness to a murder that Alex did not commit alone. "Trust you to take lover-boy's side." Ajax said, glaring at Andy without turning his head completely.

"Son.. be silent." Zeus warned, which caused Ajax to clench his jaw as he now kept silent and waited for an opportunity to make his own speech.

“Look- Trinity Wallace, Daughter of Ares. I don't know much about the actual events except word of mouth. Mason, Theo and myself were absent on a mission. I know Alex killed Jennova, but that doesn't make her a murderer. She doesn't have murderous tendencies, trust me I know. If anything, after she killed Jennova, was when she became a little unhinged. But I'm a strong believer of an eye for an eye, and I'm not sure who started it. So either payback is due and she should face some form of punishment in the eyes of the Gods, or Alex ended the cycle with Jennova.”

Alex wouldn't blame her if she decided to take Mason's side, or anyone for standing up for those they cared for since those who cared about Alex were only doing the same. However, Trinity's words had actually surprised her. She was smart to not go by hear-say. Trinity had placed herself in the neutral zone, so to speak. She hadn't been there, so to blame Alex outright without bearing witness, would have been crazy.

The newest campers seemed to be talking quietly among themselves, probably to try and guess if Alex was actually guilty of the crimes she had been committed with.

Many years ago, there was one God which had gone against the laws of their cosmos. He had slaughtered so many mortals, all because they chose to no longer worship him. This angered Zeus. This particular God was not placed on trial, for his actions were evidence that he had done it deliberately, and showed no remorse for his actions. Zeus destroyed him where he stood, and he was never mentioned in Mount Olympus again. Though he swore, that if anyone broke the laws again... he'd make them stand trial. That murderous god, the rotten apple of their roots had once been Zeus's friend. He couldn't allow that fate for his child, especially when part of her still remained.


The trial didn't seem too bad, but as soon as Hades stood to speak, Alex imagined she could feel the earth beneath her beginning to slowly open up to swallow her. Her soul would be damned to the firery depths of Tartarus, where Hades would never allow her to see the light again, or her mother who was hopefully at peace in the fields of Elysium, which is Persephone's domain - gifted my Hades himself. The snake opened his mouth and began to poison the ears of those who chose to listen. "I will remind those present that this trial isn't about intentions and an individual's belief, but the actions of the Daughter of Zeus. We all know what that was, and as a result, I have no daughter anymore. And he, without a sister. In robbing this one life, you have robbed others and you have forbidden growth. Jennova was a girl. Around the same age as the children present, no more powerful, no wiser. She attended this Camp because she wanted to better herself, like many demigods. Even I thought it would be a sanctuary, but it appears it is where the vile are permitted to roam." Alex remained silent, tears falling down her cheeks as Hades's words cut into the most. She thought that was the end until Mason added his own words. All of it made her feel even worse.

She could no longer look at anyone. Her gaze remained focused on the sand floor of the arena, wishing it would really open up and swallow her this time. Her heart felt like it was crushing along with her lungs. She held her hand over her chest, steadying her racing heart, and struggled breath.

Her brother was the last to stand. "Ajax Valis. Son of Zeus." he still didn't like saying that, still held a grudge against his father like an immature child, but this time... he finally decided to let it go. "You all forget, that it was Alex who did her best to keep everyone safe last year. She held the biggest threat back with me and our father, placing her own life at risk for everyone else to stand a chance. She held them back so the others could take out the lesser threats. Alex has been nothing but kind, and for a sudden change of personality, surely people should know that isn't right. No one can suddenly change overnight, especially when she's been such a lovely person her entire life. She was a rebel during her teen years before attending Camp Athens, but that doesn't mean she is a murderer. We all have a past.. every single one of us. Does that determine who we are, and who we choose to be now?" he sat down, fists clenched. He didn't want to take it any further, scared that he might say something he'd later regret. Her brother's words were honest, but it didn't seem to be enough. Even with Duke and Wes on her side, it just didn't seem to do her justice.


This was it. As Ares stepped down from the podium, Alex squeezed her eyes shut tightly, begging beneath her breath, sobbing as she readied herself for the fateful blow... but it didn't come.

She opened her eyes and looked up. Ares had taken hold of her arm instead, and lead her over to the luminescent liquid that filled the large basin. Were they going to drown her in that thing? without a word, he let her go and held out his hand, signaling for her to step into it. So she did.



She stood there, looking down into the basin as silence fell on the room. All eyes remained on her, and it wasn't long before the room also grew dark with only the Pensieve's light to be seen.

Memories began to form. They spiraled up before her which gave the others the insight of what exactly Alex was seeing. It formed clear images of the past, followed by whispers until they turned into voices, voices that echoed clearly around the room. Zeus swallowed as he recalled Susanna's voice.

"Alex!" she rushed over, both of her arms held open wide to embrace her child. With her cheek pressed against her mother's shoulder, Alex closed her eyes as her own arms wrapped around her mother's slender frame. Already, she hated this. The warmth of her mother's love was never forgotten. Not even the scent of her perfume that had been embedded in her skin and clothes. It had been a Greek flower - An Iris - one of her father's chosen favorites from Aphrodite's garden. "I take it the camp allowed you to finish and come home for the holidays?"

"Yes."

Susanna frowned. "What's wrong? are you not excited to be home? you and your brother get to spend time with me until you have to go back. We can plan something together. What do you think? Alex?"

She felt her hand squeeze around the handle of the blade she had suddenly picked up, and before her mother could even get the chance to leave, Alex began to plunge the knife repeatedly into her mother's stomach as she remained emotionless, even while her mother screamed in pain.

Susanna fell to the floor, bleeding to death as she begged for help, but Alex just stood there. She watched as her mother reached out toward her, her bloody fingers gripping at the bottom of her trousers. "Please..." she begged again, right before Alex finished it and exited the kitchen, leaving her mother's lifeless body in a pool of blood.

Part of her that remained in the present, stepped back and screamed out. She couldn't believe she was seeing her mother dead like that for the first time. That memory had kept itself from her... until now. "No!!" she wailed. Athena quickly moved to her side to support her.

"It's okay.. keep going." she whispered into her ear. "Dig a little deeper." but Alex didn't want to.

"No, stop! please... let me take a break. Please." she begged. Athena looked up at Zeus. He nodded once to give her the all-clear, so Athena gently leads Alex out of the memories.

Well the trial was keeping him entertained so that was good for him. But more interesting for her were his thoughts on the daughter of Hera. “I can see why you came to your conclusion. But she isn't quite my type. I like my women mature, calculating... unpredictable. Qualities she does not possess.”

Evelyn nodded, taking the feedback on board. Eve did show a fraction of those qualities to Evelyn anyway, apart from the maturity. “Always worth knowing, thank you.”

But her second question, regarding herself and his own actions, seemed to make him think and Evelyn listened and waited intently. “Hmmm. Perhaps I don't like the idea of someone else playing with my toys. Maybe I'm selfish?” Evelyn quirked up a brow. Was that the answer he wanted to lock in? “Or I worry that her sloppiness could back fire onto me and I don't want to be in the line of fire for her impulsive and tactless nature?” Of course he'd answer, he couldn't have a false impression that he was tender floating around, now could he? Sylas leaned forward. “Or maybe, I do have a soft spot for you.” Evelyn smiled. She actually enjoyed being proved different by this man. It was how he continuously won her intrigue.

She gently took his collar between her fingers, not tugging, not pulling, nor demanding his attention, but keeping him close. “If I had to pick one of the three, I'd say the first.” She let the fabric slip from her fingers. “You do strike me as someone that doesn't like to share and is very self-orientated.” To give him a scope into her logic, she continued, “Worrying about another's actions seems beneath you, especially with nothing to tie you and Eve together. As for the last option, as flattering as the thought is, I don't believe we've had enough time together for you to grow such attachment. Yet,” she added.

Sylas returned to his casual position. “You wouldn't like being her puppet. She wouldn't be as fun as I am.”

Evelyn stifled a laugh, lowering her head to hide the reaction. “I don't think I'd appreciate being anyone's puppet. No matter their fun value. I can imagine it though.” Evelyn watched a daughter of Poseidon rise and speak her earlier logic. Evidence was going to be the only substantial thing, yes. Somebody got it.

But Keith scoffed and let out a bitter remark in reply, “Sorry, we forgot to bring Jenn's head to appease you,” surprising Evelyn as well as himself. Maybe when she made more progress with Sylas, if such a thing existed, she'd have to readdress Keith, even when he was in the company of two beautiful and warm girls. There was a strange case surrounding him. The daughter of Hecate spoke again and had the same thought in the way of prosecuting evidence. “As for evidence, what do you want? Her corpse?” Then there was a temporary dispersion.

She leaned towards Sylas, eyes still on the arena, picking up from their conversation regarding her as a puppet. “Eve wants gossip to collect information and to pull on a few heartstrings. She wants to be the embodiment of envy and jealousy to women, and desire to men. I'd be a great informant for her, but considering I'm not a male, she'd grow bored and release her spell. Now as your puppet, the bidding you'd have me do could vary.” Evelyn looked at him. Even if she knew Sylas's exact motives for camp, he'd still probably mix his puppets chores up. There would always be some factor of unpredictability to him. “If you're lucky all you might have to do is ask rather than be domineering.”

Evelyn turned her attention to Sloane, who buried herself far away from others and at the back of the arena. She was likely the only one that knew Sylas. What a privilege and curse it must have been on the girl. But Evelyn didn't care to interrogate somebody about someone else, Sloane held her own mystery. As for the company next to Sloane, well, he was a new face and unpinnable from this distance. “Do you happen to know who that devilishly handsome man is by your sister?” Though 'devilishly handsome' was the best way to describe Sylas himself. Evelyn smirked slightly. She supposed it was time to test the son of Eris's ego again. Particularly now that one of 'his toys' and sister had their attention on the same dark-haired male. Sylas did have a rather commanding presence. Perhaps her question would show lack of tact/clumsiness and irk her precious company. Who knew, and that was what she loved.

Pete watched as their fellow demi-gods spoke up to give their 2 cents worth. All emotional appeals, Alex’s cheer squad to two who gave their own rallying cries, that bored him. Surely none of this garbage would hold any impact of the proceedings, not if it were to be run like a proper trial.

For something that felt inconsequential in the face of actual evidence, it was awfully cruel. To hear what all Alex’s precious peers had to say about her, to relive her crime from every angle. It was obviously cutting her raw, from way up the back she looked a fragile nothing, especially when compared to her display of power from the stables earlier. And that was before they brought out the Pensieve. Horrible, gory memories filled up the room and Pete felt compelled to watch, sitting up at attention for the first time in the trial.

The images faded quickly before Alex was allowed a quick break. Pete relaxed back into his seat, eyeing off Sloane who seemed completely unaffected by the images. She finally answered his question. "Well I agree with Liv, that evidence is needed to some extent. But from where I'm sitting, the question isn't whether or not Alex killed this Jennova, but if the intentions were her own."

Ah, Liv, the girl in the bloody clothes who spoke earlier. No doubt her words would irk most, but he appreciated her forthright speech. He glanced over at her, she sat alone and he knew her words were unlikely to bring her any company. He would have invited her over but he was one for friendly crowds and he doubted Sloane was either.

Pete turned to Sloane, remembering clearly their earlier conversation. He was aware she was the daughter or Eris, the goddess of discord, and capable of her own manipulation, but it appeared that their manipulation didn’t work on each other too well. “It is too easy to take someone’s will for your own.” He replied knowing better than most. His sister could push people in whatever direction she wanted, but Pete could possess people, using their body for his own ends “Hard to prove though.” If that was their defence, Alex’s family was going to be hard pressed to prove it. People who manipulated other knew how to cover their tracks.

Sloane cocked an eyebrow at him, deciding it was his time to speak. "Your thoughts?"

He shot her a half smile, his best attempt at playful. “Oh, I don’t give those away, even for a penny.” His attempt at being jovial felt awkward even to him, not that it was a lie. He wasn’t in the habit of revealing his thought or feelings to anyone. He bent down to rub at a scoff mark on his left boot “She’s guilty alright. Just depends if they want her dead or not,” he said motioning to the panel of judging Gods, all haughty and well, god-like. He tone was detached as if he were discussing the weather not the ending of someone’s life. Though he hoped they didn't choose the death route with this.

“Though,” He sat back up raising an eyebrow to Sloane, recalling her earlier comment. “I’m not the smartest lad.” His eyes were drawn past Sloane to a red head several rows down, an inconspicuous hair colour. Especially when she was turned to looked at them, and she was sitting next to the infamous Sylas. “Despite your best efforts, you’ve drawn attention.” He muttered darkly nodding towards the pair sitting rows down from them.

Eve watched the trial with interest and curiosity. Obvious lines were drawn in the sand, with Andy’s speech siding her with Mason and pissing off her beloved boyfriend. Alex’s like gang of boyfriends swearing that she was kind hearted and whatever. Through it all Eve’s eyes were drawn to the one-armed demi god of love. She wasn’t an idiot, she could understand double-talk and knew what Evelyn and Sylas were getting at. Aphrodite’s children were all gifted with the ability to manipulate others, clearly that protected him from her own influence somehow.

Luckily for Eve, she didn’t need her powers to turn people into her own dolls, moving them about to keep her entertained. She was already formulating a plan, she’d just have to wait to find him alone.

Her thoughts were brought back to the trail though when they produced a Pensieve, illuminating Alex’s dark memories. Eve turned her eyes to the spectators, watching Zeus and Ajax, their reactions far more fascinating then the images displayed.

It was gone in a an instant and then a recess was called leaving her side by side with Theo. And he didn’t waste time turning to her he spoke up, "So ummm... what was it you had to tell me?" He’d leaned into her slightly as he spoke, a situation she used to her advantage by leaning in slightly, giving them the impression of close friends sharing secrets to anyone looking their way.

Eve stared at her hands. “Right.” She said, before chewing her lip and forcing her eyes to once more water. She tried to make herself as small and pathetic as possible. “Well, see Trinity overheard me telling my brother than Wes asked me out.” She wrung her hands together, a sure sign of nerves. She didn’t know what Trinity had told Theo, so she was going to have to stick as close to the truth as possible. “But well, he- he didn’t.” A single tear fell from her eye that she forcefully rubbed away. “It feels so dumb now. I didn’t mean for all this to happen.” She looked up at Theo with an eager, hopeful expression, grabbing at his arm. “You believe me right?” She asked, using her influence magic, believe me. She figured he was safe to manipulate a little since Artemis didn’t grace her children with any powers of manipulation.

“See, Mason was the one who asked me out. Well- to his cabin tonight. That’s hardly the same thing is it?” Eve laughed forcing it to sound shaky and nervous. “I didn’t even say yes! I’m- I’m not like that.” She would have said a silent apology to Mason for dragging his name into this, but well after everything else she hardly felt this was crossing some big line. Plus, if Trinity and Andy ever got talking this would at least hold up.

Another tear left her eye as she looked at her jeans, picking at the rip in them, she wanted to look as meek and pathetic as possible in Theo’s eyes. “I just didn’t want my brother to worry about me, you know, getting involved with a son of Hades. So I just… used Wes’ name, it was a stupid little lie. I didn’t know she’d hear it.”

Eve looked up at Theo with a shaky smile, “You’ll tell Trinity for me? I think she might rip me limb from limb if I try?” She let out a shaky laugh that wasn’t entirely faked. She was certain Trinity would try to kill her if she approached her directly any time soon. Eve was aware of the choice she was giving Theo though. Theo could pass the message on to Trinity, watch her get back with Wes and face being a permanent third wheel to the their relationship. Or he could keep the information to himself and make a real attempt and gaining Trinity’s love. Whatever choice he made, Eve would learn something important about him. She added on a barely audible whisper for extra effect, "plus, I doubt anyone would believe me anymore."

"Hi, I am Ethan, Hestia's son. I have a question for Ajax." Ajax turns his head to look at him. "Didn't you mention something about a bracelet that belonged to Alex and you believed it to be cursed and the cause of her actions toward Jennova. Do you still have it? If this bracelet is cursed it could provide some answers and physical proof." Ajax turns his head again, this time in his father's direction who was looking straight at him, waiting for his son to answer the question.

Ajax nods. "I had Hecate look at it before the trial began. It was cursed, but it's not cursed anymore. We left it too late to find out who left the mark." he said. His eyes land on Hades. He had a feeling in the pit of his stomach that it was him, since part from his son, Hades was the one who had a deep dislike towards his father. At least, they were the only two he knew about without any doubts lingering in the back of his head. He could bet his life on it.

Liv gave a long speech, and even though she did have a point, it was clear that no one was patient enough to find out what would come next. His sister had just managed to grab herself a break, and already everyone grew restless. He didn't blame them, but a trial wasn't supposed to be fun. Ajax's gaze moves to his hands as he clasps them together, rubbing at the skin on the back of his hand as he stares at his feet with his mind absent as he waits for his sister to continue with the memories that Ajax didn't like seeing, but if it's all that can prove Alex's innocence... then so be it.

"I had Hecate look at it before the trial began. It was cursed, but it's not cursed anymore. We left it too late to find out who left the mark." If only that cursed object had still been intact. The trial would have ended so much sooner. "No matter. Everything will be brought to light soon enough."

As his son's eyes travel to where Hades and Mason sat, Zeus also looked in their direction. It was easy to point the finger without hard evidence, which is why Zeus did not act. So many enemies lurked the very corners of Tartarus, their souls forever wailing in the depths of despair, unable to escape their torment for the gates to the underworld remained guarded by Hade's loyal beast. Cerberus. Though it was not Hades who had placed them there, not all of them at least.

So many of them still want their revenge on the King of Mount Olympus, and so many still prefer Hades as the king instead.

Hades no doubt had plans conjuring inside of that head of his, but Zeus's only concerns, for now, were on his daughter.

With his weight baring down into his hands on the arms of the throne, he straightens himself up to stand. A couple of the Demigods had left already, and he wasn't about to stop the others if they no longer wished to sit during a drawn-out trial. But every second counted for Alex. "Thank you, Miss Pfeiffer, but we are aware of what needs to be done. We will not allow my daughter's trial to be decided on emotions alone, hence why the method I am using is in progress."

He knew that she meant well, so he hoped that he wasn't too harsh. Gods didn't have much to them when it came to emotions, they lacked in areas which human's did not. But this didn't mean they felt nothing... their emotions just weren't as intense, which is why it was so easy for Zeus to leave Susanna after choosing to return to his realm. Still, he knew what love was and how much he did love her. Still loves her.

he looks down at his daughter and the goddess who is stood next to her. "Are you ready to continue?"

Alex sat on the sidelines, gathering the strength she'd need for round two of reliving the memories she wanted to remain forgotten. "Are you ready to continue?" her father asks.

Alex looks down for a second before looking back up and giving him the answer they all wanted. "Yes." as the Goddess who had stepped forward to help moves her back to the pensieve, Alex was regretting every second of ever coming in the first place. But it needed to be done to clear her name once and for all. "I am so tired, and I just... I want it to be done with. I'm ready." she stepped back into the cool liquid and closed her eyes.

The Pensieve lunged into action once more, throwing Alex into a much deeper memory this time. The night of Jennova's death.

Alex remembered it well now. Jenn's face was stoic and emotionless while she took a drink of her water before leaning her right shoulder against the door frame. "What do you want?" she said, right before Alex unsheathed the sword that was attached to her back. "What the hell do you think you're doing with that?" Jennova took a step back. "Ah... well, if you think you can scare me then you're wro--" THUMP, a severed head hit the ground. She hadn't given Jennova a chance to finish.

It was Andy and Wes who had found her, and Even back then, with what was right there before them... Wes still never judged Alex. He gave her a chance to explain. "We should get you to--" Wes cut off. He hadn't noticed that Andy had run off to get Alex's brother, but there Ajax was. He had arrived and was yelling so loud that the entire camp could have heard him.

"What have you done! what the hell were you thinking?" He looked at the headless body.

"He's going to kill me... Mason's going to kill me."

"I won't let anyone kill you" Wes promised.

The memories went on a little further until there was indeed evidence of the bracelet getting to Alex by Jennova's hand. All to please her father.

Ares let out a frustrated sigh as he watched the memories unfold. They were only going to point towards the God they had always suspected from the very beginning. As much as Hera still disliked Zeus, she had too much to lose and had been promised her Queen status on condition of keeping her claws out of the children. So it couldn't have been her.

To Tartarus." of course he wasn't going to stay there forever, no doubt he'd find his way out one way or another. The Olympian guards took hold of Hades, and escorted him out of the Acropolis. Thank god the trial was over. Ares still believed that it was pointless for everyone to have come. They could have easily found everything out without them having to see the young girls memories, but maybe it's because Zeus wanted them to know and see for themselves that his daughter wasn't the monster that many so believed. There was no bringing back Jennova, but at least all of them could move on in time, knowing that it was all done by the hands of Hades. again.

xxxPete watched Sloane out of the corner of his eye as she sighed against her seat. “That’s unfortunate. I thought I could go through life invisible.” She certainly made a good attempt at staying out of the limelight – he liked that about her. Though he was left with even more questions about why she’d shirk from the attention of her brother.

As the trial begun to start up again, Pete muttered back, “Unfortunately, pretty girls don’t really get the luxury of invisibility.” Then the whole thing came to a grinding halt, one small piece of evidence was revealed in Alex’s memories and the whole trial was called to a very sudden, and a very abrupt ending. Pete glanced across the watching crowd, knowing that this would not abate their desire for bloodshed. Things would only get worse from here – he was sure of it.

Sloan spoke up, though Pete had lean towards her to catch her words. “Well… that was convenient.” He couldn’t help a small chuckle that came out of him in reaction to her words. Convenient was and understatement.

He responded with a similar sentiment, though he spoke louder than Sloane not caring if he was overheard. He wasn’t speaking anything untrue. “I feel like I just watched an episode of telly that had to wrap up before the 6 o’clock news.”

“I think I’ve had enough of Olympus for quite some time,” Sloane said rising to her feet, a small sigh rolling out of her petite frame. Pete mirrored the sentiment, but was slower to do it. Watching at Sloane walked away, he rose to his feet, stretching his arms above his head, letting out a yawn. He intended to follow her, if he had to ride one of those beasts alone, he’d probably tumble to his death. But he meandered a little too much, and watched on as Mason stole away his riding partner.

So he hung back, lingering and watching Alex celebrate with her brother and father. He couldn’t help noticing that the cheer squad who had seemed intent on letting her know they were here for her, had already taken off. He waited for her to move away from the group, climbing up on one of the horses, before he meandered over, hands in his pocket. “That was certainly dramatic.” He said.

He glanced over at the few remaining campers still hovering about. “Couldn’t help noticing your cheer squad didn’t hang around. You know the one-armed one, and that walking six-pack.” Pete’s word might hurt, but it was the truth. They’d up and left, without so much as a ‘congratulations for surviving your trial for murder’ hug. He motioned to the horse she was sitting on, “I hope you weren’t planning on riding solo, ‘cause I definitely need help in not plummeting to my death.”

With that he swung up behind her, remembering Sloane’s tip about the back being easier, attempting to make himself look more a natural on horses than he was. And failing. “I’m not a horse guy,” He muttered by way of explanation.

Once they were in flight, he did lean forward for a moment to whisper in her ear, “I am glad you’re returning with your pretty head intact though.”

Eve watched Theo chew over the information, his thought process written all over his face. He really didn’t want to get involved, but he did trust what Eve had told him. Finally he spoke with a smile, “I’ll do what I can.”

Beating back a smirk, Eve forced out a relieved grin, and jumped up to wrap her arms around his neck. “Thankyou!” She settled back into her seat as they both turned to watch the finale of the trial – which ended with a sizzle rather than a bang in case you were wondering.

Eve actually felt bad for Mason as he was forced to watch his dad carted away and his sister’s murderer walk free. She didn’t know what she’d do if anyone killed Pete. Though the resentment that this trial would leave, was ripe for manipulation, a little push here and there, and she was sure she could force this whole situation to blow up. The trail having concluded, Theo turned back to her, his voice kind. Which was a good sign as it meant he trust her story. “Remember, I’ll do what I can. Just try to keep yourself out of trouble.”

“Oh, I swear it. I hate all of this drama and will stay a good ten metres away from all of it from now on.” She said replicating his kind smile. Before he could rise though, she leaned over and landed a quick kiss on his check. “Thank you so much.” She said, allowing her eye to water like she might cry again. Then he left.

She watched him leave, and her sweet smile dropped from her face. Trinity would absolutely hate it if he tried to get involved. And it would only can the next part of her plan all the more believable. Eve was interrupted from her thoughts as a body settled into the seat next to her. “I couldn’t help but notice you have nice tits.”

Seriously, not only was someone trying to pick up at a murder trial that was his opening line? She didn’t turn around, fixing her gaze forward, she hoped he’d get the message. Apparently he didn’t as he spoke again. “You’re a blonde, too, which is even better.”

With a sigh she turned around to face the internet troll come to life. And he made no secret of the inspection her made of her body, apparently he was pretty satisfied with the view. “Let me guess? You want to know if the carpet matches the drapes.” Eve responded, disinterest coating her body language and words. He was beefy, coating in an extra layer of muscle. Eve thought him the worst kind of human, one who fought battle with fists and no intelligence.

“I am Liam, the- I am Trinity’s half-brother.” A lifetime of watching other people and reading into their mannerisms taught Eve to notice Liam’s hesitation, and she locked it away to ponder on for another time. Though her ears caught on Trinity’s name, and she found a new reason to be interested in him – if only because it would piss Trinity off.

He wouldn’t get anything from Eve through such crude means, but that didn’t mean she had to act disinterested. Replicating his previous behaviour, she made a show of checking him out, running her gaze along the bulk of his muscles. Then with a smirk she leaned in towards him, placing a hand on his upper thigh. When she was close enough she whispered in his ear, “I’d call you repulsive, but I wouldn’t want to turn you on.” She squeezed his thigh, before using that hand to push herself out of her seat. She introduced herself as she got up, "I'm Eve. Sister of no one important."

She gotten a few steps away from him and was about to make a comment about him watching her ass, when she remembered the cursed flying horses. Looking back at Liam she decided he was a good an option as any to help her back to earth. “If you want to rub against me on one of those beasts, you better help me up first.” With that she turned and headed toward the waiting horses, approaching the first found, waiting for assistance to come.

She stroked the side of the horse's neck, and before she could leave Mount Olympus, Pete had made his way over to her. “That was certainly dramatic.” He said.

"Trials usually are. I just wish the Gods didn't have to drag everyone, including yourself, to see every gory detail of my messed up head. At least now I know I'm not guilty. I can get my life back on track."

As Pete glanced over at the few remaining campers still hovering about, so did Alex. “Couldn’t help noticing your cheer squad didn’t hang around. You know the one-armed one, and that walking six-pack.”

She looked down after hearing those words, fighting the urge to tell him to mind his own business... but he wasn't wrong. Alex did her best to dig for excuses good enough for her to defend them. "They're probably tired. It's been a long day. Everyone just wants to get back home and move on from everything. They'll see me in the morning, so... it's fine." she was lying. It did hurt that they had just both left like that, but there was always tomorrow.

“I hope you weren’t planning on riding solo, ‘cause I definitely need help in not plummeting to my death.” She smiled and held her hand out to him.

She pulled him up, letting go of him the second he was sat closely behind her. By accident, or on purpose... she didn't care. It had been a while since anyone had noticed her other than, 'AJax's Little Sister'.

"Maybe I can teach you how to ride some day."

“I’m not a horse guy,”

"Who said anything about horses?" She smirked. Teasing him. He was attractive, but part of her still couldn't trust him until he had proven himself. He was a good distraction to help kick back all the dark crap that had kept her from living. "Ready?" she shuffled back a little, making sure she was close to him. "Hold on." She lightly clucked her tongue, and the horse began to open its wings before it ran towards the cliff edge, diving into the clouds below before it's huge wings shot out to the sides. Gliding through the air.

Her skin tingled gently as Pete leaned forward to whisper in her ear. “I am glad you’re returning with your pretty head intact though.”

She turned her body and head to him, locking her eyes on him as she gave him a pearly white smile. "Why's that?" she finally asked. "Would you have missed me?"

~Okay Ajax, I'll ride with you, but I won't be able to talk with you until we get back to camp.~ That was fine by him since he needed to go over his own thoughts anyway about the entire trial. Seeing everything his sister had done due to manipulation, and the feeling of not being able to protect her from it in the first place. He blamed himself, yet again.

He could tell she was finding it awkward, or that she was feeling anxious about the entire situation he had invited her into, but she would be ago once he had given her the time to warm up to him.

Ajax motioned his head to the horse with a smile. "Ladies first." he carefully took hold of her waist and hoisted her up onto the horse's back before hopping on behind her, before he took the reins and chuckled as he felt her tense up slightly with his arms either side of her. "Relax. I'm not going to hurt you, or throw you off mid-flight. I promise. That's only for those who start singing annoying songs." he joked, knowing that she wouldn't be able to with being quiet. It wasn't long before they were back at Camp. The horse executed its landing perfectly before he hopped off and helped Iliana down gently. "See, wasn't so bad was it?" he asked, and gave her shoulder a gentle, comforting rub. "I swear I'm not all Mr.Angry."



The following day, Ajax woke with the feeling that he hadn't slept that well. The trial still lingering in his head, the feeling of his own girlfriend hating him more than ever, and how everyone was going to be now Alex was free.

There was always going to be tension in the air no matter what, and after yesterday... they needed something normal. Something that could at least allow them to relax for a little while Maybe a beach party like last year? It would be easy to set up. Daniel was the only person, so far, that he knew was enthusiastic about music, or maybe they could set up a cushioned area on the beach, huge fabric screen to watch a horror movie or something like that?

He got out of bed and put on some clean clothes after quickly using the bathroom to wash etc, and headed outside and headed towards the canteen to get some breakfast.

He sat in the far corner by himself, for now, hoping that he wasn't looking unapproachable to those who needed him as the staff announcement came through the speakers. "As soon as you can, head to the staff cabin and vote for the poll that is pinned outside. Movie night and games with drinks and food, or Just a traditional Campfire, music, games, drinks and food." the speakers squeaked slightly as they turned off, and Ajax remained to enjoy his morning cereal of cornflakes. He had voted for the movie night.

xxxPete was momentarily thrown when she looked back at him with a toothy smile. It was the first smile she’d actually graced him with. "Why's that?" She asked, and Pete had to pause and actually remember what he’d said. Oh yeah, something dumb about being glad she’d not dead.

On principle he didn’t lie, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t avoid. “I think you’re supposed to keep your eyes one the road. Er, sky.” He muttered. Remembering where they were shot another bolt of fear through him – there was something very unnatural about this. And he griped tighter to Alex in front of him.

Unfortunately, Alex wouldn’t be persuaded to change the subject. "Would you have missed me?” he knew she was being playful, but it wasn’t a question he felt like giving a joking answer to.

He sighed ready to answer, but was saved by hooves hitting sand. He scrambled off the beast, and watched on as Alex showed off what would most likely be a flawless dismount. A better gentlemen would have offered her assistance, even just a hand, but he wasn’t chivalrous, especially not to a woman who was clearly capable on horseback. He shoved his hands in his pockets and started heading up the beach side by side with Alex.

“I think,” he scrunched up his face thinking of the right way to put it that was honest, without being mean. Because the truth was, he wouldn’t have missed her, he didn’t even really know her yet. He wasn't used to avoiding hurting people's feelings, and he was finding it annoying. “I would miss the opportunity to know you better.”

When the time came to part, he paused and looked straight at Alex. “You should just tell those guys you’re pissy about them leaving.” Pete said referring to her lie earlier about being ‘okay’ with Theo and Wes leaving without her. He hated dishonesty in a person, and it had been an easy lie to spot. Well, easy for him to spot, he grew up with a pathological liar after all.

With that said, he gave her a slight nod before heading off in the direction of own cabin. Refusing to acknowledge that he could have just travelled through the shadows to his cabin rather than taking the long way, walking up with beach with Alex. Especially since he hated unnecessary exercise.

Pete woke up to some announcement about a camp fire vs movie night vote off. He personally couldn’t care less, so long as neither was an alcohol free event. With a yawn, Pete rolled out of bed, changed, grabbed his current book, and headed to the main hall.

Neither of the Drakos siblings were morning people, but unlike his sister who seemed to inhale her entire body weight in food each morning, Pete’s stomach recoiled at the thought of eating before midday. Instead he opted for a strong black coffee. With all the tables occupied, he headed to the table mate he thought would be the least tiresome and chatty. The tiny blonde who seemed to not speak, ever.

He stretched out in his seat, taking a few long sips of his coffee, enjoying the silence. He thought about cracking open his beat up paperback, Carrie, which he’d tossed onto the table, but instead he looked over at the girl across from him. “What's your name again?”

His curiosity about people was an old habit that was hard to break. But he wasn’t like his sister, he wasn’t going to play games. If he wanted to know something about someone, he was just going to ask it, no filler or fluff. Which is explains his next tactless question for the meek girl. “And why don’t you speak?”

She hadn't been afraid of not looking where they were flying since the horse knew exactly where it was going anyway. He was about to answer her question, but they had arrived back at camp quicker than she had expected.

After dismounting the horse perfectly through years of practice on her own, Pete had managed to join her on the ground. She folded both of her arms and began to walk beside him along the beach towards camp. It looked like everyone had arrived back before them, many of them probably already tucked away in bed after a long, drawn-out trial.

“I think,” Pete began to say, breaking the silence. “I would miss the opportunity to know you better.” he had finally replied to her previous question. He didn't have to, but she was happy that he did. Alex smiled at that as she looked down toward her feet. The camp was closer by now, and also time for them to part ways. As Pete stood still, so did Alex. “You should just tell those guys you’re pissy about them leaving.” Pete said.

Should she? their lives didn't revolve around her, and neither did hers around them, so was it even right for her to be upset with them? no doubt they had perfect reasons to just up and leave. Especially since she was with her brother and father anyway. Maybe tomorrow at some point. Tonight she just wanted her bed. Her eyes were getting heavier by the second.

Pete gave her a slight nod before heading off in the direction of what Alex presumed to be toward his own cabin, but she didn't head to hers. Not right away. Instead, she remained on the beach for a little while. It was good opportunity to clear some of the thoughts that lingered in that head of hers about the trial.

The sun was almost set. Such a beautiful sight, and to think that today could have been her last to see it or anything wonderful that came with life itself.

She placed her behind down onto the sand, her arms wrapped around her legs as she pulled them into her chest with her chin resting upon her knees. The waves gently crashed against the shore as she looked up at the moon that had become more visible now the sun had finally gone to sleep, bringing out the clusters of never-ending diamonds that twinkled in the black veil of night. Later evenings like this were honestly her favorite. All she could hear was the gentle chirpings of crickets that sat in the nearby grass, rubbing their back legs together like a tiny orchestra while the lightning bugs seemed to dance along to it.

She covered her mouth as she yawned. It was time to head to bed for real this time, so she got up and headed to her cabin.



With the sun hidden behind the curtains that remained shut in Alex's room, she hadn't had time to even open her eyes all that much as Wes made his way into the room after a gentle knock. "Peace offering from a shitty best friend?" he asked.

"Wh-what?" she said, rubbing at her eyes and trying to focus on him as he made his way over to her bed, setting the coffee and doughnuts down on her nightstand. She propped herself up a little with her pillows resting behind her for support as she listened to what Wes had to say. Surely Pete hadn't mentioned anything to him.

"I'm sorry I disappeared after the trial. I thought you might have wanted family time... I was kinda lost in my own world." He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Trinity and I had a fight. Somehow, someone got it into her head that I invited another girl back to my cabin. So, turns out she doesn't trust me... and I told her I love her." Wes let out a weak laugh as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Slow down. First of all.." she held her hand onto his arm as if to steady him. "Thank you for the breakfast, and I am so happy to see you this morning, but... I... Pete didn't say anything to you, did he?" She grabbed a doughnut, stuffing a bit of it into her mouth. With her lips now covered in sugar, she smiled. "You're not a shitty friend, Wes, you just have your own problems going on. I won't lie, though, it did hurt that you and Duke left so quickly after the trial, but it's now obvious that you had your reasons. That's the only reason why I'm not angry with you. Duke... well... he will have to explain his side of things." She placed the other half of the doughnut back onto the plate to sip the warm, delicious coffee he had made her. "Definitely a wise choice to bring me coffee and doughnuts." she winked and smiled. Doughnuts were one of her favorite desserts, and she was honestly addicted to the taste of coffee beans no matter what time of day. Though she had promised herself to limit the ammount she drunk each day.

"So, yesterday was shit. We can agree on that." Alex nodded. It definitely was shit. It should have never gotten that far, and even though she was manipulated into murdering her own blood, she still felt as though she could have tried much harder to avoid the situation between her and Jennova. Maybe she could say sorry to Mason directly? thought she knew, deep down that wouldn't change his thoughts or feelings about her. The daughter of Zeus was always going to be a murderer in his eyes, even if she proved that she was a nice person.

Wes flopped onto the bed next to her and placed his hat on her head and flicked the bill before he propped his head up in his left hand. Alex chuckled softly, readjusting the hat. "I've decided that it is mandatory we have fun today. You have to laugh at least 5 times. No tears unless they are from laughter or joy. And I shall redeem myself from being a horrible friend." He smiled toward her, tilting his head to the side slightly. "What do you say?"

She pretended to think long and hard about it before stuffing one of the doughnuts into his mouth. She laughed."Deal. And that's only four more laughs to go already." She smirked. "What do you have planned?"

When he mentioned Liv, Nelly spotted her and remembered her from the trial about finding more evidence. Looks like she was a new camper like herself. Liv didn't appear to be a chatterbox, not like her. For one thing she had deliberately sat alone and was reading. Nelly looked back at Mason when he talked about Ajax. He had also mentioned his girlfriend. Was he jealous? She wondered who this girlfriend was. Whelp, she find out soon enough. One thing was obvious though, Mason hated Ajax and his sister. She remembered his testimony. He comment about Ajax screwing around caused Nelly to raise an eyebrow. Wasn't he one to talk? She had gotten a good whiff of Mason when she sat down and he obvious hadn't had a shower yet because she could smell something on him that totally feminine. He'd been with someone. She wonder if she should tell him that, but with Ajax in the vicinity, combine with her loud voice, and her not knowing who he'd been with, yeah things might not go well for Mason. While Nelly was no stranger to trouble, she did try to avoid causing it if possible. She'll just mention it to him when she got the chance.

All thoughts left her mind when he directed her to follow him to Liv's table. She laughed when he mentioned it was time for Liv to babysit her.

"I am a big girl, daddy, but thank you for your concern."

Liv then proceeded to converse with Mason with a very tart reply. Nelly just let her have her say while watching Mason's reaction. The girl could certainly hold her own. Finally the brunette addressed her.

”Well, on that note - welcome to Camp Athens. I like to call it High School, but with a dash of powers, killer demigods, romance problems on steroids, and whatever else you can imagine, but worse than that."

Nelly giggled before replying, "I've never went to HS so this might be interesting. My mother hired tutors for me because we traveled all the time. Still I only got a GED. Never went to college because by then I was making a living off of my pictures. Oh my name is Penelope, but I prefer Nelly. Roles off the tongue easier. Mason told me you're Liv. Do you prefer to be called that? It sounds like a nickname."

Even though her attention was focused on Liv, she made note of those who also showed up. One in particular caught her eye and that guy looked like he went through the gauntlet. Gees, what happened to him? He'd been silent in the trial, but she remembered he had been sitting with the redhead girl. As she waited for Liv to reply, she also saw a blonde conversing with Ajax, but he didn't look like he was enjoying her company.

"I can see what you mean about romance problems on steroids. I only got in last night, but my dad, Hermes, showed me what happened yesterday through a pensive with his memories. Is there anything else I should be aware of because it looks like I got her at tense time?"

That last question was asked in a serious tone.

Iliana watched and ate as other campers arrived. She purpose sat in a place where she could see everything. Nothing really caught her attention though until Cherise showed up with one she only saw briefly before, but knew he was on Ethan and Heath's radar. The two had approached a redhead and Keith. Iliana waved back to Cherise when the girl waved to her as she left. Soon Keith wasn't far behind. It wasn't long before that blonde minx showed up. She first went over to the redhead's table and said something. Iliana wished she was closer to she could hear them. Soon the blonde left to get her own breakfast and made a beeline for Ajax. Iliana frowned and would have joined them, but soon the same guy who told her run yesterday, sat down in front of her. She wasn't expecting this at all.

“What's your name again?”

She started writing that down in her notepad, but then he asked her a question she wasn't too surprised with.

“And why don’t you speak?”

She had a feeling that someone here would ask her that one day. She had prepared herself for that too. She already knew she would be as honest as she was able, but not say everything because she didn't know all the answers herself. She wrote down her answers before showing it to the dark hair guy.

It was then she saw Heath and Ethan enter the hall. The two guys woke up and saw her note. After taking a shower and getting dressed themselves, they headed straight for the hall. Heath frowned when he saw Pete with his sister. Ethan kept his grin on his face though. The two soon got their own breakfast before going over to Iliana and Pete.

"Good morning Lia. Did we miss something this morning?"

Iliana was quick to write down all she heard and saw that morning and showed it to her friend and brother. She also asked one check on Cherise and the other help Ajax. The two nodded and ate.

"Don't worry, Lia, we'll see to it. You take care of yourself then. And you," Heath said turning to Pete,"Next time you tell my sister to run, I suggest you warn us next time. Excuse us now."

With that, the two guys left the hall.

"Ethan, you go help Ajax since you're more familiar with him. I'll check on Cherise. I want to be able to figure out if Sylas had any influence on her and to see what Eve might have said."

"You be careful then. Are you sure you don't me handling that part since Eve and Sylas are able to manipulate people? Since I can influence others myself, they wouldn't be able to affect me."

"That's exactly why I want you with Ajax. You won't be able to get under her influence."

"Righto then. Good luck. Ethan said before returning to the hall.

He approached Ajax and Eve and immediate sat next to Ajax, not even bothering to address Eve.

"Hey, how are you doing? Heath and I woke up a little late, but I thought I heard an announcement. Do you know what is was?"

Heath soon found Cherise, who was with some other guy. He recognized him for he sat with her during the trial.

"Hi there, sorry if I am interrupting. Iliana wanted to see how you were Cherise. She could tell something was troubling you."

"Hey that's fine with me, Liv. With my energy I always kept my mom on her toes, but she's adventurous herself so she didn't mind. But anyway it's nice to meet you."

Indeed, she was thrilled to have hit it off with someone so far. Now the problem would be staying in touch consistently. She was always good at making friends, but keeping them was hard for her.

Liv then warned her about the blonde not too far away. She was sitting with a gorgeous guy and as clueless as Nelly could be when it came to 'romance', she could tell that the guy was not interested in her.

"Oh I'll definitely keep an eye on her then. This should be interesting. I do plan on getting to know everyone here. I do remember her from that court scene and even though she wasn't speaking up, I do remember her sitting with another guy. One of my abilities is my photographic memory so that helps."

She continued eating and was almost done when Liv asked if she was a photographer or model. The model part caught her a bit off guard and she laughed in response.

"Definitely a photographer, hun. I am too independent for my own good and do not take direction well. I've met a few models and omg, it's like that have no meat on their bones at all! And oh, I do documentary pictures mostly from landscapes to city scapes."

Suddenly, all hell broke lose when Andy arrived with who Nelly remembered being Ares's daughter, Trinity. The dark hair lady zeroed in on the minx and really laid it on her, even going so far as to physically threatening her and using her powers. Even Nelly was a little scared of her. Her own skills were the 'threatening type' like Andy's so seeing those kind of powers being used now was unnerving. So this was Ajax's girlfriend. Now the pieces were coming together bit by bit. The blonde, Eve, started to leave, but soon had a few words of her own. One part definitely caught Nelly's attention.

“Now that I think about it though, that must make you feel pretty crappy. Ajax is such perfect, loyal boyfriend to you, and you can’t even fake loyalty. Since we all know you're not a one man kind of gal.”

Now that was eye opening. Nelly's gaze looked at Ajax's reaction and saw him clench his jaw. Did Andy have feelings for someone else? She immediately thought of Mason who appeared to have a thing for Andy based on what he told her. Oh lovely, a love triangle and you add Eve into the mix and it was just one big mess. After making a comment about the 'birds and the bees', Eve left and it wasn't long before Trinity as well as Ajax and Andy. Nelly whistled and turned back to Liv.

"Wow! Now that was intense! You know, Mason told that Ajax has been with other girls, yet according to Eve, Ajax is the loyal one and Andy is the one who is having issues. Now I can already tell Mason doesn't like Ajax, so I am wondering in all of this mess, where does the truth lie? My mom is a journalist and that is always her ultimate goal, to find the truth while being as unbiased as possible."

Iliana watched as the whole confrontation between Andy and Eve commenced. It was so intense that it left Iliana in shock and she couldn't even take in all the emotions from all parties present. She sensed Ethan using his own serenity inducement immediately to try and help the situation, but it seemed to bounce off of Andy. Only Ajax seemed to be the only one to calm down Andy. Her heart went out to the girl. Her powers were terrifying. Now she had an idea on how Heath and Ethan felt when she used her powers when mad. At least Andy had better control of her abilities because she could have easily killed Eve. Both Ajax and Andy ordered Eve to leave and she did, but not before getting the last word in. She had felt the girl's fear, but there was another emotion she couldn't put her finger on. Well, the girl reaped what she sowed. She looked over at the dark hair guy, read his emotions and wrote down down something before showing it to him.

~Are you okay?~

So there was a beach party tonight? Well that was bound to be something, Ethan thought. However all thoughts about a party exited his mind as Andy stormed in, along with Trinity. Immediately he started using his serenity inducement, but Andy's anger was so big that he had no effect on her. This was surprising to him for it was his best skill. This wasn't a good sign. Maybe he needed to practice more.

The confrontation didn't last long and soon all participating parties left. Great, now what? Ethan looked back at Iliana and saw she was in shock. Well, better to be in shock then an emotional mess. He decided he would keep an eye on her for Heath, but also kept an eye on Sylas and one of the redheads in the room. He noticed a completely new face come into the hall, but she soon left herself. Ethan figured he'd meet her soon enough. He would tell Heath what happened soon enough. Hopefully though he was having better luck on his end.

"You’re not interrupting at all! Also, I am fine. I think maybe the stress of a new place is kind of getting to me, but I will be just great. We were just weighing our party options - campfire or movie night. I actually thought that a campfire would be nice if the weather is good for it. How about you?"

Heath wondered Cherise was going to be fine. She wasn't lying, but Heath was still a bit pessimistic. Then his thoughts drifted to the mention of a party. He didn't recall hearing about a party. He did sleep in late, so maybe it happened then?

"Was there an announcement this morning about a party? I accidentally slept in this morning so I don't remember hearing one."

He also wasn't sure which party option he would pick. He wasn't the type who went to these kinds of social interactions.

Then the other guy spoke up and Heath finally paid attention to him. Something about the guy seemed 'off'. He was definitely uncomfortable. It wasn't long before he asked Cherise to heal him. Normally Heath was a nonchalant person, but even he couldn't hide the shock from his eyes.

"Wow, it's a miracle you survived. Oh what's your name again? I am Heath by the way. I am new to this camp."

xxxPete had noticed her using the notebook before so he wasn’t shocked when she pulled it out and started scrawling. When she turned it to show him the note she’d written, he took the notebook without asking, leaning back in his seat to peruse her scrawl. My name is Iliana. What is yours? He didn’t spare her a glance up as he mumbled, “Pete” in response and continued reading. And I don't know the exact reason why I can't talk because my memory is all foggy and fractured. All I can tell you is that I was hurt . . . by humans last year and it left me traumatized.

Pete’s response was a low whistle as he tossed the notebook back onto the table for her to snatch back, that seemed a sordid tale indeed. He didn’t have time for any other follow up questions though as the bodyguards/brothers/boyfriends? swooped into the main hall. They sat and ate like men on a mission as Iliana spoke to them through her notebook. Pete for his part slouched back sipping his coffee. He’d make an escape but there was hardly any better choices in the hall.

Eventually they rose to leave, but not before Heath leaned over towards him actually acknowledging Pete’s presence at the table. “And you, next time you tell my sister to run, I suggest you warn us next time. Excuse us now."

“You’re excused,” Pete mumbled to himself as the blonde and redhead left. Noting to himself that he definitely hadn’t promised any sort of warning system. With that he put down his coffee and looked back at Iliana with a raised eyebrow. “You’ve got those two wrapped around your finger, my sister would be impressed. And jealous.” Speaking of the devil herself, Pete’s attention was snapped away by a commotion on the other side of the room. Eve, naturally, at the centre of it. It wasn’t until he saw the flash of a blade though that his whole body became alert, ready to jump to his sister’s rescue the moment things went too far. He wasn’t a fool, he knew whatever was going down, Eve had instigated, but his body was running on the instinct to protect its other half.

Luckily it never got that far, and Eve pranced out of the room like nothing has happened. Of course, he could see she was a little rattled but no one else would. It wasn’t until a notebook was basically prodded at him that his focussed snapped back to Iliana in front of him. Are you okay?.

“What?” He had to the read the note twice more before he realised what she was getting at. He was half out of his seat, he relaxed back into his seat and uncurled his right fist to see that he’d scraped a nail into his palm and drawn blood. Black poisonous blood. Ready for a fight. He looked at it for a minute before wiping his palm clean on his thigh. He scowled darkly at Iliana across the table. “No, not really.”

He’d answered honestly. He wasn’t okay, he was feeling murderous, at his sister for being an idiot, and at himself for jumping up to get himself killed alongside her. “I’m getting the fuck out of here.” He mumbled to Iliana, his version of a politely excusing himself. As he snatched up his coffee and book, prowling out of the main hall.

Heading nowhere in particular, the moment he was far enough away from the crowd he pulled out a cigarette and lighter. Now was the time for a smoke if ever there was one, it was only their second day here and Eve was getting threatened by a knife. Apparently he couldn’t take her anywhere. Taking a long drag he looked out towards the shoreline, “I’m going to fucking kill her.” His threat to no one was sinister and dark even if he had no intention of carrying it out.

His only intention in leaving main hall had been to get away from people, but apparently he’d failed at that as he looked up and saw a brunette only a few feet behind him. Liv something he recalled from the trial. No doubt she’d heard him cursing out Eve and was about to run off and cry murder. “I didn’t-“ He sighed and ran a hand through his already messy hair trying to figure out how to explain it without actually having to say anything. “Sister.” He figured that was the simplest way of explaining it, after all anyone with a sister had threatened to kill them at one time or another.

She saw Hecate's daughter look at her and instantly felt regret. Nelly knew one of her biggest flaws was to say what she was thinking and that often rubbed people the wrong way. She wasn't going to apologize for it, but she would apologize if it hurt someone. Seeing the couple leave, she made a mental note to apologize later. It wasn't long before Liv spoke to her though.

"I'm only going to say this one time, dear. You will be better off staying out of their drama. These girls here, they don't want help. They want everyone to feel just as sorry for them as they do for themselves. They want all the boys here to revolve around them and their fragile little egos, and these silly boys are more than happy to oblige."

~A little late for that, staying out of trouble at least.~ Nelly thought.

Also, Liv seemed to be jumping to quick conclusions here. She sounded so sure here. Also she wasn't making much sense either. What do these girls not want help with? Nelly couldn't help but look a little perplexed at Liv's statement there.

"I say, let them consume each other's time with all their bullshit. Me, I have training to do - things that are more important than your quest for gossip. Because while all of you are busy playing high school, I will be busy exploring all the ways that my powers could make people pay for their slights."

Ooh, that really burned, but Nelly wouldn't let it get to her. Liv was definitely someone to be aware of. Her being a child of Poseidon meant she was more powerful then her. She would make sure to stay on her good side. And being a gossip wasn't something Nelly tried to be, it just happened at times. Her father was definitely a talker himself. Her thoughts became jarred when someone showed up.

"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt. I was just wondering if this seat was taken. I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Sylas."

Liv was quick to introduce herself before leaving. Nelly kept her eyes on the new guy though. Even though she had her normal 'nice smile' in place, if there was one person she'd been told to be wary of, it was this guy. Her father told her Sylas was a Child of Eris when she inquired about him. Hermes knew how bad Eris could be. This was the person who was ultimately the reason for the Great Trojan war so Hermes never pulled pranks on her like he had with others, even Hades. Nelly then noticed that Sylas was bruised in some areas.

"Hi there Sylas, my name is Penelope, but most call my Nelly. And as you can see it's just me here now and I wasn't waiting for anyone. I actually got in last night from another trip. Now I hope I am not being a bother here, but are you okay?" she asked, pointing to his bruises.

Pete's answer to her question scared Iliana. Yes he was definitely not fine. He was furious, but unlike Andy's temper, his was more like a volcano about to erupt rather then a storm, and those kinds of tempers could be more dangerous. He suddenly left and Iliana thought about him for a bit. She could tell he wanted to ask her more about her ordeal and in all honesty, she wasn't ready to talk about it. His statement about Ethan and Heath though had caught her off guard. It also made her think. It never occurred to her, but Pete was right, those two did do everything she asked them to. She had gotten use to Heath's attentions even growing up for he always wanted to protect her. He always been that way, especially after what happened to her recently. And Ethan had taken a break from college just to help her. Was she being selfish? Had she come to rely so heavily on Ethan and Heath so much that they didn't have their own lives to live anymore?

"Now that's a serious face. Care to share Lia?"

Ethan's sudden appearance caused Iliana to gasp in surprised.

"Oops, sorry Lia. I should have realized you were deep in thought."

Ethan saw Pete leave and figured he would check on Iliana. Iliana soon calmed down before answering his question. Ethan saw Iliana's serious face again as she handed him her notebook.

~Do I take up too much of your free time?~

"Where did this come Lia? Ethan asked, confused.

~Pete, the guy that was here. He mentioned something and it made me wonder if I demand too much of your and Heath's time. You two are always with me and rarely do anything for yourselves. Ethan I know you took a hiatus from college to help me. I don't want you and Heath to be around me so much if it means it's taking away from you enjoying your lives. I am sorry for being selfish.~

This gave Ethan pause. True, much of his currently life did revolve around helping Iliana, but he had made that choice. He knew how dangerous humans were and it was his choice to help Heath and Iliana. Heath had even told him how grateful he was to Ethan once and it made him feel wonderful to feel useful. Heath wasn't one to dish out compliments, so when he did give one, he always meant it.

"Listen to me Lia. You've been through hell and back in your life and I wanted to help. I think you're one of the strongest people I know and you've made great strides from the tragedies you've been through. You're also one of the most selfless people I know too and I've known a lot of people because you always are trying to help others. You're not forcing me to do something I don't want to do. I want to help. I know there will be plenty of times at this camp when I'll get to do my own thing. For now I am just content to hang out with you two since I am more comfortable with ya'll. Believe me though, I do want to meet everyone in this camp, even the more complicated ones."

Iliana listened and nodded. It was a lot to think of. One thing she knew she was going to do though, try to spend more time away from Heath and Ethan. She didn't have to meet everyone in this camp, or least get to know them, but there was no hurry either. That's when she remembered this morning's announcement.

~We're suppose to vote for a movie night or a campfire party night by the way. I don't care either way honestly, but I think I would prefer the campfire since there be more space so I can be alone if I want to, or leave early. I am going to go walk by myself for now. Can you tell Heath I will see you two later?~

Ethan nodded before Iliana got up, took her dirty dishes away and left. He soon left himself.

After Iliana walked out of the Main hall, she spotted Mason and another blonde. Her name was Trinity right? She remembered her from the trial. She didn't see anyone else though and not knowing what to do, just walked wherever her feet guided her. She ended up coming upon some cabins and saw the state of one of them. It had seen better days. Horrified, Iliana ended up approaching it before seeing two people exit it, one being a huge guy who look capable of damaging the cabin and the other was a dark haired woman. She had yet to meet these campers. They also appeared to be talking with each other. Not wanting to interrupt them, she started heading in another direction. Still the state of that cabin haunted her thoughts.

Heath saw he was being a third wheel when he saw Cherise look at the other young man.

"Thanks for the information Cherise and yes, I'll see you two later.

He started heading back to the main hall when he saw Ethan coming towards him. Where was Iliana? He didn't have to wait long because Ethan took initiative.

"Iliana wanted to walk alone and wanted me to tell you that. Oh and a lot just happened after you left." he said before telling Heath everything that happened between Ajax, Alex, and Eve. He then talked about his talk with Iliana. Heath sighed.

"I'll be honest Ethan. I am always terrified that something will happen to Iliana when I am not with her. But my practical helps keep me sane because I know Demeter is even more protective of her daughter. So much so she told me she'll always have something watching her, even at this camp."

"Like what exactly?"

"Like tree nymphs or her own personal servants. Being the Greek equivalent of Mother Nature, Demeter does have a LOT of connections. Only Poseidon would have more since water covers more of the Earth then land."

"So what do you want to do now? Oh, there's an vote we have to do. We need to decide if we want a movie night or campfire party."

"Really? I'd rather stay in my room and read or work on my latest book. But then again the party idea might be best because then I can keep an eye on other campers. I still don't trust Mason when it comes to Alex. And we still need to find out what happened to Sylas."

"How about this then? I've been wanting to find time to work on some architecture ideas so why don't we head back to our cabin so you can work on your book and I can do that. Well we can do that after voting. Then this evening we can do the party. I was going to vote for partying anyway because I've been wanting to meet the rest of the campers anyway."

"Good idea. Oh, thanks for everything Ethan. You've been a great help, and I know you didn't have to be."

"Anytime man! I am just happy that Iliana is trying to do more things on her own."

This caused Heath to smile and the two headed off to make that vote.
