Since she came to camp Alex had been training as much as she could, trying to fill the power gap between her and the other campers quickly. Although she improved a lot already she could still be considered a joke to her peers. She was still just a small girl with minimal training in fighting and no social graces. This wasn't exactly the perfect mixture for making friends with demigods. So far she only had limited conversation with the others and when opportunity struck to be social she chickened out and shadow traveled away before anyone could see her. Ah, got to love shadow travel. It makes running away from problems at least five times easier.
Alex's train of thought was interrupted by the centaurs voice rilling the campers for breakfast. She got up and slowly made her way to the and sat herself down at the Hades table, she didn't have any siblings at the camp so she ate her meals solo. Not that it really bothered Alex, she was content with people watching.
((OCC: sorry if its kind of a lame start I just wanted to give you an opening to work with.))

He walked across the large field that separated the cabins from the forge and he began the rather slow process of getting the forge hot and ready. After about an hour he stood at his station his tool-belt wrapped around his waste buckled tightly. It was a gift from his father the belt would give him any tool he needed as needed. As he pounded away the metal he was shaping into a small dagger for a friend of his in Athena cabin he reached in and grabbed a hunk of metal to add to the sword. Finally around 8 am Joe had finished the blade portion of the sword and saw the rest of his cabin heading towards the breakfast pavilion.
Joe put the sword in a safe that was secured with an eye lock, a hand-print lock, and finally a voice lock. This made it so that no children of hermes could break in and steal what he was working on. He washed his hands quickly in the sink and ran toward the pavilion where he ran into Chiron. "oh hey chiron sorry I'm late I was just working in the forge" he said. The Centaur nodded "joe I actually was hoping you could do me a favor" He said
"of course anything Chiron" Joe said. "Well I need you to sit with Alex at the Hades table for breakfast today and get her outfitted with a weapon, we have capture the flag tonight its ares cabin and Hephaestus cabin for team captains tonight so I thought she could fight with you guys." he said
Joe nodded I can do that no problem Chiron" joe said as he walked to the table and grabbed a plate filling it up and finally burned part of it for his father. He then walked over to Alex and sat down across from her " hi there alex" he said with a smile.

Alex had only talked to Joe a few times before during training or around the forge. He pretty popular around Camp Half-Blood and as far as she knew he seemed like a nice guy. "Um...did you need something?" As soon as the words her mouth she realized they sound much colder than she had intended. 'Aw crap' She thought. This always tended to happen when she tried to be part of a conversation. She really didn't mean it but coming across as friendly just didn't seem like like something children of Hades excelled at.

Joe finished his plate "do you have any idea what kind of weapon you might want or what kind of armor you're gonna need?" Joe asked as he eyed her up and down thinking about what kind of weapon might be too light, or too heavy. Overall trying to get a read on what kind of armor or weapon to make her.

The spark in her eyes flicker out just as quickly as it arouse when she realized something. 'Wait...That means I'm going to be against the Ares kids!?' A feeling of nervousness hit her gut like someone threw a punch at her. Children of Ares might not be pretty but they were strong. Even though she was the daughter of one of the big three and supposed to be one of strongest demigods, at this point she was pretty much sure even a few of the Aphrodite kids could kick her ass. But this time she couldn't just shadow travel away from a fight. This time she would have a team counting on her even if they didn't expect much. 'Its okay..' She tried to reassure herself. 'Its just a game . You can do this! Its time to prove your place here!'
Alex was so deep in thought thinking of Joe's question that she didn't even notice him looking at her. "A...a sword I think...? Or maybe a shield?" She said with a tad of uncertainty. So far, swords were about the only weapons that felt right to her. And, well, shields were always good for not getting speared rival campers. She looked up at him with a determined expression. "I do whatever the team needs me too."

"I wear heavy you'll want that if you're gonna fight in the thick of the action and if you carry a heavy weapon. Medium works good for fighting 1 on 1 it lets you maneuver well, and light is for going rogue with small weapons lets you move much faster and move silently." Joe said as he explained the different kinds of armor.
Joe thought to what things he could to customize the armor and the sword makiing it more her own he would talk about that later when he got what kind of armor. "do you know how to use you powers?" he asked

Alex hesitated a bit before answering his next question. "Um,yeah, of course." Well, that was partially true. She a child of Hades, she was able to communicate with the dead and raise corpses and use them to her will but so far she has only tried it on dead animals. Shadow travel and manipulation came easy to her, although she normally uses it defensively. As far as her she geokinesis skills, she could levitate rocks stuff but that was about it at the moment. But Alex figured she didn't need to worry him with details. She'd figure it out on the way.
