Camp Half-blood is at peace. A place of refuge to help those born of Gods grow up safe and out of harms way. Percy Jackson set way for an area where Demi-God children could live without fear and make it far beyond their teen years. It has been over 20 year since the oracle has even given a prophecy putting many at the Camp at ease no longer fearing tomorrow.

Summer has just begun. Campers whom did not stay all year long begin to flood their way into the ever going camp. Veteran Demi-Gods return while more and more new campers follow. Activities have been in swing for the better part of a week for those already there or who have arrived.

Reagan had been at camp for nearly two weeks already. Although she loved being at home with her Mother throughout the year, coming to camp was always exciting for her. It was somewhere she didn't have to hide who she was or pretend to be anything other than what she is. She's been going to camp long enough to where many other campers look up to her and her brother. She always takes a liking to the younglings that come in and spends more than enough time with them.

She had spent the entirety of the morning and into the early afternoon racing them up the climbing wall and playing on the ropes course. When the warning sound for two hours before capture the flag sounded she took her leave and headed back to her cabin. It wasn't long after she had returned that Cas was also there.

It was fuzzy the line between when they were talking to when they fell asleep. But she woke up with her head resting on a pillow in Cas' lap while he was propped back against the wall. She slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes before glancing down at her watch. They only had an hour remaining until capture the flag. She stretched with a yawn before shoving Cas' shoulder with her elbow, "Hey!"

Reagan slowly pushed off her bed, and groggily made her way towards the mirror. It always seemed the first couple weeks she was at camp every year she was extra tired. It's funny how out of sync you can get from being away for a year. "Cas! We have Capture the Flag in an hour." She pivoted on her heel to walk back towards her bed, dramatically plopping down on it. "Or are you already scared to get your ass kicked by me... Again." She chuckled.

***

"COME ON JACKSON!!" Becket shouted behind him as he darted through the forest. He had no idea how he was still able to sprint after this long. He was tired and beyond thirsty. But somehow he was still going strong compared to the young satyr lagging behind him.

"We can't out run it!" Jackson shouted towards Beckett who slowed down to grab the satyr's arm and help him run faster.

The second Beck's arm met Jackson's time slowed. Not enough for the half goat to notice but enough to make a difference. He couldn't risk slowing it anymore. The satyr had told him he was some child of a God but from what he could remember there wasn't a God that could do what he can and that worried him. So instead of confiding in this kid that he had only known for the better part of a week, he kept his lips sealed.

"Well... Do have a weapon hidden in your fur?" He huffed as he weaved between trees.

"No..."

Beck nodded his head. That's what he thought. He figured if there was anything he could use Jackson would have coughed it up by now. "How far is this place?" He looked back over his shoulder but saw nothing.

Jackson stopped dead in his tracks looking back behind them dumbfounded. "Are they gone?"

He didn't like the sudden absence of the creatures that were chasing them. "Do you know these things to ever give up?"

"Well there was this one timeβ€”" Jackson looked towards him pausing when he met his gaze, "Well, no actually."

Beck grabbed his arm and yanked him along, "Then come on!" It wasn't long before he heard the flapping wings closing in behind them. He didn't risk to look back but when they sounded to close for comfort, he shoved the satyr to the ground before diving down after him.

Just as he did three furies swooped over head laugh and shrieking as started to circle around. "Demi-God smells funny," The first one said.

"Demi-God doesn't smell like Demi-God." Said the second.

"Smells like goat."

The first slapped the second with her wing, "Idiot! The satyr sells like goat!"

As they bickered, Beck yanked Jackson up off the ground. "Come on!"

"Not so fast Godling!" They called after them as they dove in after them.

"There!" Jackson pointed towards a column arch way at the top of the hill, peaking between some trees.

"Go!" Beckett pushed the satyr towards the borders before turning towards the furies.

"Brave boy."

"Stupid brave boy."

Jackson scurried and tripped his way up the hill as Beck distracted the beasts. The furies circled around him taunting him for a moment or two before swooping in to grab him. But just before one could stick him with their talons she slowed to a crawl mid air as Beck held time and stepped out of the way.

The satyr reached the gate turning back to see Beckett sprinting up the hill with the furies at his heels. "Come on!"

When he reached the top of the hill he ran straight for the gate but when he reached the borders it didn't let him past and instead sent him flying back and into a tree. "What the β€”"

Beck pushed off the ground coughing and ran for the gate once again, ducking every time the furies dove down to grab him. When he reached the entrance he put out his hand before him for it only to be stopped by the invisible barrier. "What's going on!? Why can't I enter!?"

"I-I-I don't know." Jackson bleated as he looked around for a solution. His eyes locked on the golden fleece. "Wait here!"

Beck rolled out of the way just as a fury went to grab him. She slammed into the barrier which shot her back nearly the length of a football field back into the woods. "Jackson!"

"Hold on! Hold on!" He called back to him as his hooves ran as fast as they could carry him towards the branch.

Beck leaned back against the invisible barrier watching as the Fury regrouped, now even more angry and started towards him once again. "Jackson!"

"Almost there!!"

"JACKSON!!!!" Beck shouted as the winged beasts were nearly on him.

"Got it!" Jackson yelled as he took the fleece from the branch. As he did so Beck fell backwards into the borders of camp. "Did you see that!?" He shouted happily.

"Put it back! Put it back! Put it back!!" He shouted as she scrambled backwards on his elbows.

Jackson yelped before quickly tossing the fleece back onto the branch just as the furies reached the border. Instead of shooting them backwards, the border reformed cutting both Furies in half. The torso of one fall from the sky, landing right on Beckett.

"Oh gross!" He cringed as he shoved the torso off him, scooting away from it until his back bumped into a tree.

"Told you I had it." Jackson laughed nervously as he wiped sweat from his brow.

Cabin Thirteen. Not one of the original twelve cabins that had originally stood in the valley of Camp Half-Blood, but created specifically by Nico di Angelo. It was made of pure obsidian with no windows. Instead, lining the walls on the outside were torches of green fire that burned constantly twenty four hours a day. Over the dark wood door was a real skull; no one really knew what kind of skull it was but people liked to place bets. Inside was decorated just as morbidly as the outside; green fire torches for lights, beds in the shape of coffins with red pillows and sheets and towards the back was a shrine made of beautiful jewels and bones. Not many people could stand being around the cabin, much less inside it... All except Lexa Abernathy. Like Nico, she too was a child of Hades, and felt right at home with the dark walls, dim lighting and shadows.

Lexa was currently curled up in a deep red claw foot chair with a back almost twice as tall as her body, reading a book written in ancient Greek. If it weren't for her pale skin and striking blue-grey-green eyes she would have blended into the shadows perfectly.

"Just an hour left until capture the flag." She mumbled to herself. It would most likely be her leading the red team and Reagan leading the blue, as it always was. They had a notorious rivalry. She didn't purposefully hate the girl... It was just that their fathers being brothers and rivals lead to her being rivals with her cousin. Add in their opposite personalities and well... Their relationship was a disaster waiting to happen. At least she had to only deal with her during the summer.

Unlike most campers, Lexa lived on the lot permanently. Not that she wanted to, but her mothers untimely death was the cause. She had lived here for six years now telling by the six colourful beads on her bracelet, and you would think on the first day of new and old campers arrivals she would be a bit more social... But no, she was notorious for being a loner. Not that she wanted to be, of course, but rather because no one really had the guts to hand around a legitimate spawn of the devil. Some thought she brought bad luck with her just like her older brother Nico had.

Lexa snapped her book shut and slid out of the chair, placing the book in the seat. "Time to be somewhat sociable." She walked over and grabbed her bow; a beautiful longbow with silver and black handle and shiny silver string. She strung it around her back with a matching quiver and marcher herself to the door.

Suddenly, warning bells rang in her head. Due to her morbid parentage, she could sense all of her fathers creatures... and if she was right there was furies nearby. She stepped outside her door, wincing at the sunshine and looked around. Just as soon as she was about to go search, the feeling was gone. Maybe she was going crazy? A likely possibility.

Ezra was woken from a blissful sleep when the bus driver slammed on the breaks. He was sent forward and smacked his face off the seat in front of him. He groaned and leaned back, slouching over to wipe up the bloody nose that was forming. "Yo old man, whats the deal!?" He yelled over the sound of an old engine. The man, large fella in his mid forties, looked over, unamused, and jerked his finger at the door. "This is as far as I go kid. Wherever the hell your going, this is as close as I can get you." Ezra nodded and hopped up and walked down the aisle. Next to no one was left on the bus and those who were still there had either missed their stop by sleeping, or were in some weird drug haze.

Ezra walked down the steps of the Greyhound and paused halfway. He looked back at the man. "You know, I was having a really good dream. Dinosaurs were overtaking New York. Peter Pan, Batman and I had to hunt down and fight the reigning T-Rex to restore balance to the Earth. Yeah." He bragged, "So next time you decide to slam on your breaks, remember that people could be saving the world!" The man, still unimpressed, gave him the a look that made him feel like he belonged in an insane asylum. "Okay kid... Get out of my bus."

Ezra hopped out of the bus and stretched. When he opened his eyes, he paused. He was surrounded by trees. Turning to ask the bus driver where the hell was he, he realized the bus had already taken off down the road again. He looked back at the forest and shrugged. From his backpack he grabbed his headphones and slid them on his head and began to blast his music as he hiked into the bush. He was looking for some place called "Camp Half-blood". He had been sent a letter that he had received a 'full scholarship' to the place and it would look good on a resume. On the bottom it had been signed 'Chiron' with a number to contact him. His dad and Chiron had had a long chat which led to his father shipping him off to the camp for the summer. Didn't matter much to Ezra, as long as there was food and things to do.

The music blasting in his ears cut off the sounds of yelling and screeching and dying from ahead of him. When Ezra got closer and saw people in the distance, he slid off his headphones and waved. "Aye, dudes! This is Camp Half-blood, yeah?" When he got closer and passed through the barrier, without him realizing it, he froze. "WHOA... You're part llama!" He yelled when he saw the man with half an animal body. He turned to the other guy. "WHOA, what the hell is that?!" He yelled again, and pointed at the dead looking thing that had been chopped in half and was laying on top of the other boy.

She could really use an aspirin right about now. Or five... Maya hasn't been at camp long enough to get used to its inner workings. Her internal clock still ran on Oregon time and, for the most part, her brain still awoke in the morning confused about her whereabouts. Logically, she knew it was the stress that was keeping her anxious and yet she couldn't fathom attributing her every nervous twitch to just the camp. She had never been around so many people in her life before, and it had begun to take its toll long ago. Sisters, her hometown, was small enough that everybody could name one another without a second meeting; here, she was struck by the fact that she would probably never learn everybody's name or faces if she was being honest.

To say it's disconcerting is a huge understatement. Camp activities were a stretch for her as well, she knew that participation was key to her success here but at the same time she almost felt nervous at the prospect of facing the other campers. Most of them had been here a while, from what she could tell, and that put them at an advantage over her that she didn't quite know how to handle. All she knew, was that the hour between now and capture the flag would be the longest of her life. Nerves had already settled in her gut but she distracted herself with a book that had been her last gift from her father before she had skipped town with the Satyr that brought her here.

That was a trip she didn't want to think about. For the third time in as many hours, she curses her parents for keeping her isolated for so long. It's bad enough that she scared most people off with her quiet disdain, she didn't need the added familial baggage. As the time drew closer she figured she'd better change out into something more suitable - armor had almost been out of the question until she realized the ineffectual nature of running around in a t-shirt and jeans. She had tighter, more form-fitting athletic wear that she pulled on and decided that she would figure out what she needed later when it came to defensive wear.

-*-
Cas didn't consider himself an easy sleeper. When he woke his better moods usually didn't kick in without a little outside help. Namely, Reagan - he couldn't stay mad at her for any sudden awakenings - and Coffee if it was on hand - which he was sorely lacking at that moment. He really, honestly didn't want to drag himself out of bed but the insistence of her tone was enough to get him rolling. Plus, he was too easy to notice missing here. He both loved and hated that simple fact. When she prodded he waved a dismisive hand in the air and mumbled about staying in bed for the rest of his life.

"Cas! We have Capture the Flag in an hour." For a moment, Cas didn't answer. Barely cracked an eye open to watch her turn and flop back onto the bed. He was almost tempted to just close his eyes and nod off again. "Or are you already scared to get your ass kicked by me... Again." He bit the end of a laugh out and smiled at her, "Big words for someone who hasn't won yet." He waggled his brow and finally started to emerge from the bed. His legs were stiff and sore already; he knew at the end of the day the soreness would dissipate, only to return in full force tomorrow. He should have stayed in shape over the summer, but Cas is nothing if not lazy at the best of times.

Cas kept would keep optimism alive until later - he hadn't won a single game of capture the flag against her in all the years he had been there with her. Which begged him to question whether that was his unwillingness to conspire with his own team or his more than willingness to slack off when it came physicalities. Without anger to fuel him he had no actual drive to fight - well, there was some drive. A flame of a fight in him that was burned out whenever Reagan was near. Her presence acting as a calming force that fought against his inner demons. He usually put forth his bare minimum of effort, but today he was thrumming with energy - nerves really - that left him rising to the challenge despite himself.

"Just you watch Ray." He was moving towards the drawer he kept his clothes in, in all his time here he had barely stepped two feet into Hermes cabin. Much to the apparent confusion of most people. He spent his time split between camp activities and the Poseidon Cabin, where Reagan was. "I'll be the one doing major ass-kicking this time." He teased. Without a single speck of modesty, he started shedding clothes and bundling up into an outfit that screamed homeless hipster instead of a warrior. Oh well, he couldn't win every battle.

"We could always make it more of a challenge," He grinned then, fully dressed and starting to settle into a more wakeful mood. Rare enough as that was he blamed it on being at camp, he was more than happy to be in a good mood here than he was anywhere else in the world. "Wanna make a bet?" He was giving the reigns to her on that one, interested in her response.

"Big words for someone who hasn't won yet." Cas wiggled his brows at her before finally attempting to rouse himself. She couldn't help but notice his stiffness as he got up which only reminded her of her own. Reagan wished returning to camp wasn't so rough on the body for the first week or so but it doesn't help that they are lazy cows when they aren't here.

"Just you watch Ray. I'll be the one doing major ass-kicking this time." Cas began to shed his clothing after picking clothing from his dresser in her cabin.

Reagan snorted at the comment Just before she let herself lay horizontally along her bed, her legs dangling over one end and her head over the other. "I'm fairly certain you've never beat at a fight... Like ever." She propped herself up on her elbows with impeccable timing to see Cas' moon facing towards her. "You are seriously so white. Like... I feel like I could use your ass as a flashlight." She chuckled as she swung her legs back and forth.

"We could always make it more of a challenge." Cas grinned towards her which caused her to raise a curious brow. "Wanna make a bet?"

Reagan sat up completely, a devious grin crossing her lips at the thought. "Oh wouldn't I?" Her lips pursed as she scratched her chin in thought. "If my team wins... I want you to go to Mr. D's cabin, at a time of my choosing of course, completely naked... Asking for his help because you think you've gotten poison ivy on your mini Cas."

With that she jumped up from her bed and walked over towards Cas. Reagan reached around him, grabbing his knuckle knives from his dresser, tucking them into the back of her pants before she playfully hopped onto his back for a piggy ride. "Mush!" She did this so often no doubt he was ready for it. Her arms wrap around his chest, her chin resting on his shoulder. "What would Mr. Cassidy Daly be having of me if I were to somehow lose?" She asked in a mocking tone.

As they headed out of the cabin, Reagan adjusted herself on Cas' back so that she held up much of her own weight. Also like many times before she moved his hand that held her right leg so that he didn't cut himself on her knives. She was too sidetracked riding her best friends back to notice the centaur that was crossing their paths. At first she didn't think anything of it until Chiron slowed down, raising his brow at them.

"Ms. Davenport... And Mr. Daly." The centaur crossed his arms over his chest, "Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you not a Hermes child?" He took a step closer, speaking again before either of them could respond. "Because last I checked, Hermes' children live in the Hermes cabin. But this is Poseidon's cabin."

"Chiron... We're just friends, nothing like that." She didn't know if that was what he was implying but she didn't want fingers being pointed at her or Cas, or rumors for that matter.

"And what pray tell is that?" She was having a hard time telling if he was just pulling her leg or genuinely wondering. But Reagan felt as if word must have gotten back to him far before this moment about Cas staying in her cabin. Everyone knew.

Beck let his head fall back on the ground as his chest heaved while trying to catch his breath. His hands raised to rub his temples while his mind tried to wrap around everything that's been happening to him within the past couple days.

His breather was quickly interrupted by the sound of a voice, "Aye, dudes! This is Camp Half-blood, yeah?" Beck shuffled to his feet, dusting his pants off as the guy passed towards the barrier and came towards them. "WHOA... You're part llama!"

Jackson crossed his arms over his chest, "Seriously? Do you know nothing about Greek... Not-so-mythology? I'm a satyr... Part goat!"

"WHOA, what the hell is that?!"

Beckett looked unamused between the new comer and the dead beast on the ground that started to disappear in a cloud of golden dust. He scooped up his pack from the ground, tossing it over his shoulder before heading towards the camp.

"Hey!... HEY!" Jackson hopped after him, his little hooves struggling to keep up with Beck's long strides. "Where are you going?"

Beckett sighed, pivoting on his heel so he could partially turn towards Jackson, motioning his hand towards the big house. "...Camp? The place you've been trying to get me to for the better part of the week."

"Wait! Jackson looked over his shoulder towards the idiot who called him part llama, hastily motioning for the guy to join them. "We need to take you to Chiron immediately," he said to Beck.

Beckett groaned, rolling his eyes. He clicked his tongue against the roff of his mouth before motioning for the fur ball to lead the way. Jackson lead them all down the hill past the big house and strawberry fields. He didn't know what he was expecting but he for sure wasn't thinking camp would be this... big. They passed by the cabins, over 2 dozen in a U shape, each one very obvious who was the patron of each cabin. He couldn't help but look upon them and none of them felt like home... like he belonged.

His attention was brought back to Jackson who scurried ahead towards... A centaur? Things were definitely getting weirder. The horse man was standing in front of a cabin that seemed to be decorated a little too heavily in a nautical feel. No doubt Poseidon. He seemed to be questioning a pair of campers, a guy with a girl riding piggy back on him. Beck slowed his pace and began to linger behind. He couldn't help but wonder if he turned around and ran, how far could he make it on his own. He made it this long, maybe he could for another 20 years. Something about this place felt homey and in the same breath he felt extremely unwelcome.

Lexa began walking down the path from Cabin Thirteen and towards the original standing cabins. Hestia’s fire was usually where people met up to walk over to capture the flag together. She may as well try to socialize, though her attempts were usually for not. No one talked to the gloomy death girl; rightfully so. If she was anyone else who valued the living, why would you surround yourself with so much death?

People who knew of her cleared a path out of her way when she walked through camp, and those who didn't know her just followed suit with the others. It was good when she was being socially awkward, but sometimes it drove her a bit stir crazy. Luckily Hestia would keep her company or even Chiron on some occasions, and if she was really bored she would just watch Reagan and Cassidy's antics as there was nothing better to do.

Speaking about those two... Just as she rounded the corner of Cabin Three she saw a growing group of people surrounding Reagan who was atop Cassidy's back and a disapproving Chiron. Lexa wondered what they were up to now; there was always something. Accompanying the group though, was a Satyr she recognized from around camp and two new looking boys. One was wearing a very shocked and confused look about Chiron's half-horse state, and the other one looked emotionally constipated... Unimpressed and unhappy. She could relate.

Instead of getting closer, Lexa leaned against one of the cabins underneath the shade, blending in well with the shadows.

***

Ezra looked on in confusion and amusement as the fluffy creature crossed his arms over his chest, "Seriously? Do you know nothing about Greek... Not-so-mythology? I'm a satyr... Part goat!" Ezra nodded slowly, "Right... Goat..." He had been told he was coming here to learn about who he was and he knew the gist of the whole demi-god thing (it had taken his father a very long time to get it through his thick skull), but he hadn't known animal things would be a reality as well.

Before Ezra could figure anything else out or ask any more questions, the other guy who was seemingly also humanoid, got up and walked off towards what he said would be camp. The same camp Ezra was supposed to be heading to. Not knowing his own way very well, he decided to talk after the guys.

The camp looked wicked. Strawberry fields so large that it was all he could smell, a lake nearby where he could see docks with canoes, an archery range, what looked like an arena... It was huge, much more advanced than any other camp he had been to. Then again this place was suppose to train people how to use their abilities... Abilities from their weird godly parent. He wondered who his was for a moment.

Ezra's thoughts were instantly shoved away when he saw the mishmash of cabins that they were coming towards. It looked like a schizophrenic artist on crack had shoved all the buildings together. None of them matched at all, but they somehow worked together. What was even weirder was the half-horse half-man standing in the midst of all of them bickering with two other children. Shit just kept getting weirder.

"Do they not realize this dude has a horses ass?" He muttered to himself in disbelief.

It's been about an hour and a half since Morgan dropped Alivia off at the edge of the forest with a map in one hand and a water bottle in the other.
"It wouldn't be far she said. Just follow the map she said." mocking her voice was but at the same time Alivia blamed herself for not paying more attention to the map when she got off because maybe she would have noticed that it was upside down. Shaking her head Livia sat herself on a rather large rock that was covered in moss so her butt was pleasantly cushioned. As she took a few swings from her water bottle something caught her attention from the corner of her eye. Something big.

Slowly rising form her perfectly comfy rock Alivia began walking carefully towards whatever had caught her attention. Leaves crunched but it wasn't from her but from the thing behind the brush. Peeking her head around a tree Alivia saw something amazing, amazingly-weird? It was a creature that looked like a horse but way bigger. She had a nice side view and could see all it's details from the soft looking all white fur to the deep crimson fur that was it's head and neck. That's when she saw it. The massive brightly colored horn on it's forehead. Eyes went wide with disbelief. "Is that a unicorn!?" she muttered out a bit too loudly. The creature rose it's head suddenly, earning a gasp from Alivia as it looked straight at her. Sapphire eyes stared into clear blue ones, challenging before it took off and Alivia couldn't help but to follow it.

Holy crap! Morgan told me stories but I never thought they were actually true! It's a freaking unicorn! Her mind raced through all kinds of thoughts while she chased this thing that was getting incredibly fast with each step it took. Growing winded Alivia had to stop the chase when the massive creature jumped over a sensibly sized stream. Doubled over she panted fast trying to catch her breath. She looked up hoping to see the creature where it landed but there was nothing. It was gone. Giving up she laid back on the patch of dry grass right before the stream and took a look at the map once more. It only took her a few seconds before she shot up onto her feet. Eyes looked over the map then at the stream, then back at the map. According to the map she was really close to the camp so looking around she hoped to find the pillar that wasn't too far from the stream. After doing a couple of 360's Alivia finally set eyes on the pillar.

"Finally!" Alivia was relieved to have finally reached the and was even more pleased when she saw that the dirt path was nicely packed so she could ride her board. Ascending a hill with her board the camp wasn't actually in sight until she came out of the clearing at the very end. This was bad, very bad. She was going too fast and couldn't stop herself unless she wanted to be flung from her board so she had to dodge kids and yell out "Move!" and "Sorry!" when they crossed her path out of nowhere. By now Alivia was on flat ground and her board was slowing down but not as fast as she wanted it too. The cabins she passed caught her attention which caused her to remove her eyes from what was in front of her and when her eyes returned there was a huge man-horse? Swiftly she crouched down enough to pass right under him but she looked back at him, disbelief written on her face once more. "Watch out!" someone yelled and Alivia snapped out of it, quickly swerving her board on it's side in order to stop but atlas she was going to fast and ended up landing on her ass.

Alivia coughed at the dirt cloud she had produced. Her hand found her lower back and she tried to rub the pain away to some relief. Getting back onto her feet she dusted herself off the best she could and picked her board up. "Damn, there's a scratch." she sighed, running her finger along said scratch.

Adrian sat at the bottom on the shallow part of the lake. He sat in a huge bubble that surrounded him with his face twisted in concentration. He's been holding this bubble for fifteen minutes now and he's aiming for twenty five this time. During the earlier hours Adrian was with Reagan, playing around with the other campers but when noon came he hitched it down to the lake where he usually trained his bubble powers, to put it simply. He took a glance to his watch. About an hour before capture the flag began.

Taking note he went back to concentrating but a huge fish swam past him, catching him off guard and the bubble popped. Water now surrounded him and with glare towards the backside of the fish Adrian began swimming upwards. That first breath of fresh air was amazing. Even though he could breathe underwater nothing could beat the smell of land air or sea air better yet. As he swam towards land Adrian was stopped by a group of female campers who were swimming not to far from him. He was then dragged into a game of water polo that lasted about a half hour and as he was walking back to camp he almost lost his life to a girl on a skateboard.

Picking himself up form the ground from where he landed when he jumped out of the way Adrian slicked his still damp hair back shaking his head. "Must be new." he muttered, picking his towel up and continuing down to his cabin where he found Reagan and Cas being, well ... Reagan and Cas. Followed by Chiron, two new faces and a third when the dirt cloud settled. A bit confused himself Adrian walked up to Cas and Reagan. "So, what I miss?" he questioned, pointing at the girl on the floor.

After changing clothes and heading back out into the main camp she had chosen to sit in a spot of shade where she could return to her book in peace. As if things couldn't get any worse in the span of an hour the area immediately surrounding her shady reading spot became filled with raucous noise. Something she wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't been simply staring a the paged of her book with the grim realization that she had no intention to actually read it. Being what, and who she is, she has always struggled with words. Something that she fought to overcome as best she could, when her focus waned things started to jumble up again. Right then, her focus was torn into tiny pieces. She stood up, dusted off the dirt off of her black leggings and headed towards the source of the noise.

Mostly, it was curiosity that led her to stand nearby the Poseidon cabin, watching the array of faces arrive in dizzying order. There was a girl riding on someone's back, she recognized them as having been there long before her. A couple of faces she had yet to see, and Chiron who was probably being annoyed by the sudden bombardment. Instead of joining the fray she circled around to where the new faces were standing, just in time to hear one of them speak.

"Do they not realize this dude has a horses ass?" Maya almost smiled at that, she could relate to his confusion in a way if only it weren't phrased so poorly. "Par for the course here," She explained quietly to Ezra, though she was content to watch the proceedings as they were. She found it mildly entertaining how quickly things got messy here. "He's a Centaur." Of course, quickly after that, two more campers arrived. Another new, and another that had been there previously. Maya thought this a bit ridiculous now, how so many people had so suddenly grouped around one another. Perhaps this was something normal to other people, but it left her distinctly claustrophobic. Enough so that she distanced herself after her last comment, though stayed within earshot. Curiosity outweighing her need to close off.

~*~

"If my team wins... I want you to go to Mr. D's cabin, at a time of my choosing of course, completely naked... Asking for his help because you think you've gotten poison ivy on your mini Cas." Reagan knew how to hit hard, but he grinned and nodded at that idea. "If I didn't know better I'd think you're trying to get me killed." He teased but accepted the bet for what it was. Normal people would have probably put forth money, but not them. No, they had much better ideas when it came to these things.

"And if mine does...well, let's just say you'll owe me later." He could have easily pranked her, or make her do something twice as humiliating. But where was the fun in that when he could keep it a mystery to cash in on later. With Reagan on his back, he trudged forward. Despite his protesting muscles, she wasn't heavy and she held herself up fine enough to keep his balance. He shifted just a bit to make sure she didn't fall - she would probably end up dragging him down too if she did - then they left the cabin. To be faced soon after with Chiron. Oh Joy.

"Ms. Davenport... And Mr. Daly." The centaur crossed his arms over his chest, Cas got the feeling, that he was about to be reprimanded...again. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you not a Hermes child?" Oh boy here we go. "Because last I checked, Hermes' children live in the Hermes cabin. But this is Poseidon's cabin." He was going to explain, in his own churlish way but Reagan was quick to speak first.

"Chiron... We're just friends, nothing like that." He almost choked face reddening at the meaning of those words. Seriously, she could have said anything else but she decided to go with that. "And what pray tell is that?" Cas could have sunk into the ground and died just then. Maybe he still could.

"Can we not?" He mumbled around his embarrassment. If this were anyone but Chiron he would have managed to find something sassy to say but as it was he only felt mildly affronted by the assumptions being made here. "Besides, Poseidon hasn't drowned me yet so obviously I'm not intruding." Cas strained out, almost joking. Mostly...joking. Thankfully, to take away Chirons attention two people he had never seen before arrived. Cas tried not to stare but really, they were an odd pair.

With the attention becoming quickly divided he turned his head up to look at Reagan and raised an eyebrow. "Is there something I should know, are you actually trying to kill me? It really seems like you are." Cas was drawn back into the conversation when Adrian arrived and began speaking, he shrugged at the question and motioned wildly around him. "Not a whole lot, really."

"Do they not realize this dude has a horses ass?" Beck rolled his eyes at the horrible excuse of a joke before crossing his arms over his chest.

He hadn't realized the addition of yet another camper until she spoke up, "Par for the course here, He's a Centaur." Beck spared her a sideways glance but then his gaze was pulled towards a shadow that seemed like more. But he didn't let his gaze linger and instead glanced back ahead.

"Can we not?"

Reagan couldn't help but chuckle into Cas' shoulder as she noticed his embarrassment. "Oh he blushes." She playfully poked his cheek.

"Besides, Poseidon hasn't drowned me yet so obviously I'm not intruding." Reagan hadn't thought about that, but it was a valid point at least in her eyes.

"Well don't we have a comedian." Before Chiron could say anything else a whirl of blonde hair came flying down the hill. Beck was lucky enough to hear her coming. He pivoted around to she her less than 10 feet away. But his inert ability kicked in slowing time around him giving him just enough time to move out of the way.

As time resumed to its regular speed, his gaze quickly dropping to the ground. He stood there opening and closing his hand while breathing heavily. He hoped in the pit of his stomach that no one registered his brief movement. That's all he needed was people questioning him. Beck's hand began to tremble slightly so he quickly shoved it into his pocket to try and appear calm.

Chiron wasn't so lucky to be able to jump out of the way, instead the girl flew underneath him and then quickly came to a halt on her rear end. His hoof stomped in the ground as he crossed his arms over his chest. He went to part his lips to speak before an antsy Jackson started pushing past campers.

"Excuse me... Pardon me!... Move!" His little furry butt made his way up to the centaur panting as his hands rested on his thighs. "Chiron!"

Chiron leaned down to allow Jackson to whisper in his ear. The minute the satyr finished, his gaze shot towards Beck drilling right through him. He inhaled deeply, shifting awkwardly in his place. Could he back out now? Turn around and run out of the boarders? He didn't like that look, it felt like bad news.

"Mr. Daly don't think we won't address this later." He pointed towards Cas and Reagan although there was a slight smirked behind the seriousness. "Reagan... Lexa," His gaze locked right on the shadow where she was hiding. The old centaur didn't miss anything after all his years at camp. "You both are captains for Capture the flag. Help the new campers. I'll return by their commencement."

He then headed off making a bee line straight for Beck with Jackson in tow. Beck held his breath as the centaur closed the distance towards him. There's no escaping now. "You're coming with me to the house."

When Chiron was gone Cas looked back towards Reagan, "Is there something I should know, are you actually trying to kill me? It really seems like you are."

Reagan buried her face into his shoulder trying not to laugh to loudly. "Well I didn't expect you to get so embarrassed by it." Her attention was pulled towards the arrival of her brother.

"So, what'd I miss?"

"Not a whole lot, really."

"Apparently... Cas thinks I have a death wish for him. Loathe and love... Sometimes it's hard to differentiate." She playfully squeezed Cas before glancing around at the new campers. She sat more upright on Cas to try and get a good view of the camper Chiron stormed towards but couldn't see him. Reagan settled back into her place on his back looking at the clumsy blonde, then the other two newbies.

Ezra almost jumped and screamed when someone spoke behind him. Pssh, he wasn't easily scared. No. He just wasn't used to all the monsters and weird mythological creatures. "Par for the course here, he's a centaur." He turned and looked down at the girl who spoke quietly. He was lucky he had good ears or he would have had to strain to hear it. He nodded curiously, "A centaur... Thanks. You're pretty smart you know... Unless thats just common knowledge and I haven't gotten the memo." He scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. He was never exactly good at speaking around women... Especially pretty ones with stormy eyes. Most of the conversation that was going on between the horse-man, err, centaur, was going unheard by Ezra, but luckily his reflexes were fast and when a blob of blonde hair flew towards him, he was able to react.

By instinct, Ezra reached out and grabbed the girl who had spoken to him and pulled her out of the way. It was just a harmful, innocent touch really, and he hadn't realized until after the girl had slid under Chiron that he was still holding on. He looked down at her and then laughed nervously and let her shoulders go, holding his hands up nervously. "Sorry. I just reacted..." He hoped he hadn't offended her in any way; she looked a bit twitchy to be around so many people. It was around that time when another person strolled up to the group, another guy who seemed curious about the goings ons. He was just left looking around slightly confused at the situation around him.

Lexa watched everything with keen eyes. The arrival of new kids shouldn't have been causing such a fuss, especially on the day like today when the camp was reopening. Luckily with her skills she could read auras, something to do with having weird premenissions about life and death or something. One of the new boys who looked hyped up on some kind of sugar and was jumping around like crazy had an energetic aura. Good person with lots of energy. The girl he had rescued from the impending doom of another girl on a skateboard had a calmer aura, more drawn back and quiet. Another good person with intelligence and creativity. The last boy... He puzzled her. His aura was confusing and not so easy to read. Good, bad? She was unable to tell. Just as she was staring him down, he turned and looked right into her eyes, as if he knew she was here. It gave her shivers. Just when she thought he may call her out, he looked away.

Jackson came forth bumbling like always and whispered something in Chiron's ear that seemed to startle the centaur. Lexa frowned in curiosity. Not much swayed the man into shock these days. The tall, weird aura boy seemed to fidget with nerves. Did this have something to do with him?

"Reagan... Lexa," She snapped out of her thoughts and looked over to Chiron. Of course he knew she was here, he never missed a thing that went down in this camp. "You both are captains for Capture the flag. Help the new campers. I'll return by their commencement." Lexa almost groaned internally. Right, capture the flag. She slid from the shadows she had just been in and ambled up to the group. This much eye contact made her skin itch uncomfortably. She looked over at Reagan with slight annoyance and sighed. "How are we dividing the teams this year? You know Hades always gets Hermes' cabin, so the newbies and Cassidy come with me unless they are already claimed. You can say goodbye to your not-so-boyfriend." She could see, like anyone else who had eyes, that these two had some kind of deeper relationship going that was beyond friendship. They just didn't seem to realize it yet.

Rubbing her bum once more, a dull pain lingering Alivia looked around slowly. Taking in her surroundings. Her eyes traced over every little detail from each cabin until her eyes landed on the Zeus's. It was huge and beautiful. Alivia had thought that since her abilities revolved around electricity and all that stuff that her father must be Zeus because he was the only Greek god that she knew could do what she could but then again the cabin didn't feel right to her. For some reason she even felt a certain dislike towards it.

From a short distance Alivia could hear people having a conversation and that caught her attention making her turn on her heels in order to face their direction. "Hey-" she was going to call out but stopped when her vision went a bit blurry. It faintly blurred everyone around her and the only thing that could be clearly seen was the "halos" around their heads. She tried to blink out of it, feeling her head start to ache but it was no use. Her head tilted slightly, looking right at the tallest guy there. His aureole looked different than all the others, besides the half animal men present. It was as if the outline of his aureole was the only thing colored a shining gold while the inside was transparent. Nothing she had ever seen before.

Alivia was allured by it and as she reached out to touch it she stumbled forward forgetting that what she could see wasn't actually something she could touch. Right in the moment her vision went back to normal, her blue eyes that her hued with a light pinkish color returning back to normal. She had a dumbfounded look on her face but an even bigger headache that rushed through. Biting the pain back Alivia walked towards the little group just as the Centaur had whisked off with the odd boy. Her eyes landed right on the girl who had just stepped out of the shadows. Her instincts told her to go up to her and so Alivia followed it blindly but at last she wasn't able to say anything directly to her. Instead she causally faced the group, "One of you wouldn't happen to have a painkiller or something?"

Adrian couldn't help but to let out a half laugh at his sisters comment before watching Chiron leave with the new arrivals. Must be important, he thought. His attention was brought back to the small group when the blonde that nearly ran him over earlier approached them asking for pain meds. Adrian shook his head no, he didn't use pills unless he absolutely needed to but he also never carried any on him. That's what his sister was for.

Glancing towards his sister as Lexa spoke, who was still perched on Cassidy's back he smirked and reached over picking her up and slinging her over his shoulder. "Alright then, you heard the lady." Adrian started towards the forest where the game is set to start. "Gear up rookies! We are about to have some fun." he waved off, smiling to himself.

"A centaur... Thanks. You're pretty smart you know... Unless that's just common knowledge and I haven't gotten the memo." It wasn't. Or, at least in the case of any normal person out there. Maya could understand his initial confusion, especially having been faced with this herself not so long ago. But unlike most people she had been a book nut long before any knowledge of not-so-mythological creatures would have been put to good use. Now, it seemed her days pouring over any and everything she could had proved to be useful. In the least, she could identify the ever growing oddities around her in a more clinical way, without fear getting in the way. Before she could come up with an answer or, really, even begin to think of one she was pulled forward. Her body tensing at the sudden motions, limbs thrashing for a few seconds but locking into a standstill soon after.

"Sorry. I just reacted..." She stifled mild panic, face devoid of its usual blank facade for a split second to reveal genuine discomfort before that too faded. She forced a half smile, the curl to her lips felt unnatural. At odds with herself once more. A stranger in her own skin. "That's alright, it would have sucked more to get bowled over." She didn't mind it so much as she was surprised by the suddenness of it. She wiped her palms against her jeans, anxious sweat gathering there.

After things calmed a little, she decided to finally address the earlier conversation at hand. Mostly ignoring the amassed group - why were so many people crowded around? "I am smart," Maya conceded quietly, almost arrogantly in a way - she had an ego about her sometimes but usually it was muted or hidden behind awkwardness.

"But you'll get the hang of it being here." Just as she would, if she could only let herself relax into this newfound world. It still felt too new, surreal in a way that left her bewildered by every new thing. Being so analytical had never been so much of a problem before. She would have said more on the topic but things had already begun to smooth out. Jackson had pulled Chiron away and the girl who had fallen seemed to be only lightly injured. Asking for painkillers - Maya could manage a little laugh at that. It wasn't meant to be funny but, her earlier quest for a handful of headache relievers was brought to mind.

"I'm afraid not," Maya spoke, but she may as well have not.

Cas was grateful for Chirons new distraction but knew the battle was far from over. He'd be hearing about it again sometime in the future; and really, he sort of looked forward to the potential competition of snark that could start up because of it. Maybe he won't get as flustered next time, but he resolved to think over what he would say in the meantime. "Apparently... Cas thinks I have a death wish for him. Loathe and love... Sometimes it's hard to differentiate." Cas rolled his eyes - if he could have managed to do it audibly he would have. "Not that hard."

"How are we dividing the teams this year? You know Hades always gets Hermes' cabin, so the newbies and Cassidy come with me unless they are already claimed. You can say goodbye to your not-so-boyfriend." Haha. Cas would have rather not competed at all, but this is how things have been for a while now. He tries to take it in stride without many complaints, besides, when his team kicked Reagan's ass this time around he'd have one favor in his pocket for later. Which was always a good thing to have? Although he could do without Lexa, or the newbies underfoot.

"Oh boy, am I ever so excited for this - " Sarcasm dripped off his tongue in waves, crunching the words out in a way that almost sounded cartooney. Vice filtered between a heavy tongue and half-clenched teeth. He grinned up at Reagan, shark-like, competitive, but ultimately just teasing. "Ready?" He asks, eyebrows waggling. The unasked 'to get your ass kicked,' was silent but implied. But he slid her off of him - he could have carried her the whole way but they were going to have to split up from here anyway. Besides, the sooner this was over with the better.

Lexa looked over at Reagan with obvious displeasure across her face. "How are we dividing the teams this year? You know Hades always gets Hermes' cabin, so the newbies and Cassidy come with me unless they are already claimed. You can say goodbye to your not-so-boyfriend."

"What I have a boyfriend?" Reagan faked an overdramatic shock. "How dare you not tell me that you are my not-so-boyfriend!? Jerk." She lightly and playfully bopped him on the head. Before she had a moment to say anything else she was pealed from Cas' back and draped over her brother's shoulder. "Excuse you." She huffed, resting her elbows against Adrian's back, her chin lying in her palms as she rolled her eyes playfully towards her best friend.

"Oh boy, am I ever so excited for this - " Cas' competitive grin caused her to purse her lips with a slight smirk. Oh how she loved competition. "Ready?"

"Boy... We both know I can take you with my hands tied behind my back." Just before she was going to pat her brother's back to tell him to move onward, she pressed her palms against his back to prop herself up. "If anyone gets claimed before the games, there is a chart up near the big house that lists all the godly parents under either Blue or red." As she said each color she pointed towards either herself or Lexa, Blue for Poseidon of course and Red for the evil one.

"Oh and newbies if you wanna follow my brother and I we can help get you suited up and equipped with a weapon. Unless you'd like to hang out with chilly-disposition over there." She nodded her head towards Lexa. She then patted Adrian's back signaling for him to release her. When she dropped on the ground she pulled a tie from around her wrist and started to tie back her hair while heading towards the armory.

***

Beckett followed behind the horse guy all the way up the big house. Jackson's short furry legs trying to keep up with Chiron's longer strides. When the centaur entered the house he waved all the other campers out. He then lead Beck back to an office. Inside waited one guy with a hideous Hawaiian shirt, another man with dark hair that had a single grey streak that matched the blonde woman's grey streak beside him. The minute they entered the room the others seemed to divert their attention from something on the desk and give Chiron their attention. "Percy... Go help your siblings get the new campers ready for capture the flag."

Percy rolled his eyes, obviously not enjoying being bossed around. "Does that mean I get to join in on the games tonight?"

The blonde scoffed, "Sometimes I wonder how I see you as anything other than a stupid seaweed brain."

Percy chuckled. He went to leave, but stopped to lightly pat Beck on the shoulder. "Welcome to camp man." He then disappeared out the front door and took off in a jog towards the armory.

Chiron trotted over towards the desk, covering whatever was the desk before turning towards Beck and Jackson. "Jackson, tell Mr. D and Annabeth what you told me." Beck's brows furrowed as he crossed his arms over his chest. Seriously this big hunk of fur didn't even have the decency to introduce him to the others in the room or anything. Just left him standing before them like an exhibit.

Jackson took a step forward, twiddling his fingers. "Well... I uh... I found Beckett a week ago. I uh... I didn't know he was a Demigod until he obviously could see through the mist... He was kinda staring at my hooves."

Chiron sighed, rubbing his temples. "No that part... About the border."

"Oh right, that." Jackson laughed nervously, "Well... We got to camp right? And... And Beckett couldn't pass through the magical border... Not until I took the fleece off of Thalia's tree momentarily so he could enter."

"You removed the fleece?" Mr. D asked after taking a drink of Diet Coke quickly following it with a burp. "Do you know what things you could have let into camp with that temporary lapse of judgement."

"Mr. D." Chiron interjected, "It's not like with have monsters waiting at our borders to slip in."

Mr. D. blew air out of his lips. "That's the same kind of reckless crap you let Peter Johnson get away with."

"Percy Jackson." Annabeth corrected, before looking towards Jackson. "So you found him because he could see your legs through the mist?"

Jackson nodded.

"Many mortals can see through the mist. Patrick Jackson's mother could, couldn't she?" Mr. D. asked.

"Percy." Annabeth reminded again with a bit of annoyance in her voice. "And yes she could. So could Rachel Elizabeth Dare even before she became our oracle."

"So how do we in fact know this boy is a Demi-God?" Chiron asked everyone but his question was pointed more towards Jackson.

"The furies." Jackson muttered.

"What?" Mr. D. asked before chugging down the remaining bit of his pop, "You're going to have to speak up fluffy."

"The furies... At the borders."

"What about them?"

"Well..." Jackson looked towards Beck who was more than slightly displeased to being talked about as if he wasn't there. "They kinda said something..."

Although Beckett didn't know what the stupid beasts meant when they spoke earlier in the woods, something in his gut told him that they shouldn't saying anything about it. Beck shook his head towards the satyr hoping he wouldn't talk. But Chiron slammed his hoof into the ground demanding answers.

"They said... He smelled funny."

"Well half of the flea bags here smell funny. What does that have to do with anything?" Mr. D. burped as he sat back down and scratched his stomach.

"Like... Like he didn't smell like a Demi-God... But not normal either, like a mortal."

Chiron didn't seem happy as he scratched his beard. "So you mean to tell me you bypassed the magical borders of this camp to let in a camper that even monsters say something is off about him?"

Jackson started to tremble slightly, no doubt scared of the intimidating centaur. "I... I... He needed help. He was being hunted by Furies and.... And camp is safe."

Annabeth walked over to Jackson lightly rubbing his cheek, "That's alright, you did the right thing."

"Do not over step your boundaries Mrs. Jackson." Chiron hissed.

"He was helping a Demi-God that was in danger Chiron. He was bringing him to safety. I thought that was what this camp was about!?" Annabeth quickly shooed Jackson out the door before the centaur could argue.

"And can you prove he's a Demi-God?"

Annabeth stayed quiet, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Can you prove that he isn't part of this... Of all of this!?"

Beck had had enough. "Enough!" He took a step forward, raising his voice to make sure he wasn't overlooked. "I'm right here! Stop acting as if I'm not standing here!"

Lexa rolled her eyes at her sassy cousin. No matter what Lexa said, there was always an annoying comeback. Of course, she expected it. It wasn't like she had ever wanted to be friends with the girl... Rather, she found her annoying. Plus for some reason she made her blood boil so easily, so she had never tried being nice to her. Chiron had told her at first that it was because their blood was a lot more similar to each other compared to other campers because their parents were of the big three. Somehow it made them not as compatible. Then again, Lexa wasn't compatible with most people, but especially her.

"Oh and newbies if you wanna follow my brother and I we can help get you suited up and equipped with a weapon. Unless you'd like to hang out with chilly-disposition over there." Lexa snorted to herself and rolled her eyes. Being cold was a family trait... Oddly enough from the man who was surrounded by blazing hell. Lexa looked back at the group tiredly. "She's right. I've been in a bad mood for how many years now? Right... Since I was born. Guess this is just who I am. We can't all be cheery little dolphins like you." She honestly couldn't stop herself. Lexa never meant to be cold and rude, it just happened. Yet another trait of her father. "Anyone on the red team can come with me if you so please. Otherwise, I'm sure Cassidy can babysit you until the match starts. I have to go grab something from the Big House." With that, she turned and began walking away, sure that no one would follow. She wasn't exactly a pleasure to be around.

Lexa's long legs carried her across the camp quickly, and before she knew it she was coming to the front steps of the Big House's porch. She thought it would probably be a good idea to grab some ambrosia or nectar, just in case. She wasn't afraid of death, but she knew others were. It was best to be prepared, and she knew Chiron trusted her with it. Not many people had been there as long as she had.

Halfway up the front steps, Lexa slowed down. From inside she could hear hectic voices talking rather loudly for people who probably wanted to keep whatever they were saying a secret. A familiar voice, Jackson she believed, spoke up next. "I... I... He needed help. He was being hunted by Furies and.... And camp is safe." Lexa's eyes widened slightly and she quietly stepped up onto the porch and crept around to some shadows, which she blended herself into. She knew she had felt them earlier... But that was odd. Her father's creatures didn't chase just anyone anymore. There was more mumbling that Lexa couldn't quite make out, but she did hear one thing for certain. "And can you prove he's a Demi-God?" If he, whoever he was, wasn't a demi-god... How did he get in camp? She assumed that this was related to the quiet boy from earlier. "Can you prove that he isn't part of this... Of all of this!?" Someone else was yelling, followed by even more yelling... But this time it was the boys voice. "Enough! I'm right here! Stop acting as if I'm not standing here!" Well something was certainly going on... But she couldn't tell what yet.

***

Ezra watched most of what happened in confusion. Then again, he almost always was confused. What he got from most of it was that they were splitting up into teams for capture the flag, there was a cheery girl who was leading a team and another girl who made Ezra's skin crawl. Something about getting claimed or team lists at the Big House. He felt almost hopeless until the small girl beside him quietly said, "But you'll get the hang of it being here." Somehow that was reassuring. The smarter part of him knew that he should stick around the girl. She was smart and him... not so much. If he wanted to get the gist of what was going on, she was a good option. If that was the case, he should probably introduce himself. "I'm Ezra by the way. Nice to meet ya braniac." He grinned.

"One of you wouldn't happen to have a painkiller or something?"

Ezra looked over at the girl who looked rather in pain. "Uh... I might." He peeled his backpack off and fished through it. His family had overloaded him in things he really didn't need, so of course he had meds. He fished out a bottle and threw it to her. "There ya go. Keep it, I don't get hurt often. Tough skin." He joked lightly and then turned to follow the siblings towards the armoury. He was quite excited by the idea of having an actual weapon.

Brainiac, very original.

Maya sighed but gave no other clear indication that the word has a meaning of which she doesn't like very much. Its common use as a mocking word. Oh well, she couldn't logically fault him for something he didn't know. Besides, coming from him it sounded much more like a compliment, as far as she can tell there's nothing mocking in his tone.

"Maya." she didn't quite smile, but the look she gives him is close enough. As he turned to follow Reagan she quickly caught up. She could hit the big house after getting some armor, and she knew if she missed the chance to get some help she'd feel stupid, and she really detested feeling that way. Plus, she isn't sure how violent this will get. She has some idea, but no experience.

"I assume you haven't been claimed?" She catches up with Ezra to ask and isn't sure if she's being abrasive by doing so, he hadn't even known what Chiron is so she had her doubts as to his knowledge concerning his parent. Maya herself had learned not long ago the truth of her birth mother, and even while making the journey to camp she had her own ideas as to who hers happened to be. Being claimed had been a quiet rush, and it had happened fairly quickly after arriving. She's faintly curious about the others, she knows of course to whom Reagan, Cassidy, and Lexa belongs to. It would be hard not to know after all when they were all senior members of the camp. But Ezra and the other newcomer, Beckett, they were enigmas thus far.

~*~

"Boy... We both know I can take you with my hands tied behind my back."

"Har, har," He rolled his eyes playfully. She won't be so confident once the games over. Their conversation had taken an odd turn but, that is not so unusual with them, there is rarely a time when things do not end up straying into the territory of weird. Though he would have rather not dealt with any of the other campers being there at all. Lexa is a pain in the ass on a good day, and he doesn't know the baby campers well enough to judge them. He takes the high road when they dissolve into a cheap argument, though he can't help but to cackle out "Shots fired!" When Lexa calls Rae a dolphin - honestly, what a low blow. He started getting antsy then, inactivity mixed with excitement at the bet placed between himself and Rae. He still hadn't thought about the favor he would ask of her, he had to make it an good one, something she wouldn't otherwise do for him anyway.

"Anyone on the red team can come with me if you so, please. Otherwise, I'm sure Cassidy can babysit you until the match starts. I have to go grab something from the Big House." nope, not happening. "Nuh-uh, Run along ducklings, I'm no babysitter." he motioned towards the retreating forms of Reagan and Lexa. Turns out he didn't actually have to say anything at all since the jumpy girl and one of the new boys went ahead and followed Reagan towards the armory. He looked down at his own clothes, the thin material wouldn't do well in battle. Even though he relied on dirty tactics more than outright combat. He didn't fancy getting hurt out there. Self-destructive tendencies be damned he still has his pride.

"Wait up," He brought up the rear behind the baby campers, posture relaxed as he strolled towards the armory. He didn't offer anything else as far as a conversation goes but kept his gaze forward.

"She's right. I've been in a bad mood for how many years now? Right... Since I was born. Guess this is just who I am. We can't all be cheery little dolphins like you."

Before Reagan could say anything Cas had to open the giant hole in his face, "Shots fired!"

Ray raised her hand, smacking her friend in the back of the head before glancing over towards Lexa. "Dolphins are highly intelligent did you know that?" She raised a brow, "Of course you didn't... But I'd rather be smart than a bitch." Reagan smiled and shot Lexa a wink. She never went out of her way to be overly mean to someone but something about the way that daughter of Hades treated her on a regular basis really got under her skin and brought out Reagan's rough edges.

"Anyone on the red team can come with me if you so please. Otherwise, I'm sure Cassidy can babysit you until the match starts. I have to go grab something from the Big House."

She waved her fingers at Lexa's back as she walked away. Her attention turning towards her overly dramatic friend, "Nuh-uh, Run along ducklings, I'm no babysitter."

Reagan rolled her eyes as she headed towards the armory. She spun around, walking backwards when she heard Cas call out for her to wait. "So," she clapped her hands together, "For anyone who might not know I'm Reagan, daughter of Poseidon. I've been coming to camp for a good couple of years now. Per camp tradition we always have a friendly game of capture the flag to welcome the newbies and have a little fun. We do use edged weapons and abilities. So before you ask, yes it is possible to get injured. Hell it isn't fun without a couple bruises and cuts. No one has died during capture the flag in half a century so the chances of that are less likely."

When they reached the armory, Reagan stopped before the door resting her hand on the handle. "Alright, so does anyone know their weapon of choice? If not there are plenty of swords for everyone. I use throwing knives," She looks over at Cas, "Actually I think I'm the only one on camp who does. But either way," She steps aside opening the door for them. "Look around. Some weapons tend to call out to campers, if you're drawn to something don't fight it. There's usually a reason." With that she stepped out of the way, walking over to a helmet rack outside the building.

"Hey there sis." Percy called as he jogged up to Reagan. "Looks like everyone's prepping for the festivities. Anyway you can convince old grey hooves to let me join in?"

"Mmm not likely." She chuckled, "You're kinda like... 20 years too old."

Percy grabbed a helmet with a blue mohawk and placed it on Reagan's head, "Well aren't you helpful."

The room grew silent at Beckett's outburst. Before they could point their fingers at him, he turned and walked out of the big house, slamming the door behind him. Chiron went to go after him but Annabeth stopped him, "Let him go..."

Beck walked out of the house steaming, coming up to the railing on the porch. He gripped it tightly in his hands as his head stooped over. After taking a couple deep breaths he slammed his hand into the railing. But almost abruptly he stopped sensing a presence. He couldn't see the girl in the shadows but something inside him told him that she was there. "If you're here to blame me for shit I didn't do then just go away... I've had enough."

He pushed off the railing and jogged down the steps of the porch. Beck shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket as he started to slowly trudge towards the armory. He wasn't up for playing a stupid game of capture the flag where he'd just be stared at by the campers. But what else could he do? They wouldn't let him leave and there was no where in this camp he could go to be alone.

Beck stopped a couple hundred feet from the armory. He could see all the campers picking their weapons and suiting up. But he just stood there, tapping his foot in the grass. His gaze fell to his feet as he raised his right hand to rub his eyes. He didn't even know who he was but these people claim that he's something dangerous. Killing that thing... that fury was the most dangerous thing he's done in his life but they are acting like a serial killer just stepped into camp. He'd rather be homeless and living on the streets like he was a month ago than looked at like some specimen that everyone should tip toe around.

Lexa stood in slight shock as the boy rushed by her. Most people could never recognize her presence, as other demi-gods were too weak. Was this what the adults had meant about being sure he was a demi-god or not? He certainly wasn't normal, that was for sure. Lexa watched him huff and walk past her after yelling in her direction. She waited a few moments in confusion before stepping out of her hiding spot and shook her head. Something told her that this wasn't going to end well.

Lexa turned on her heel and walked into the Big House, walking silently through the hall. Of course when she turned the corner, there was a group of very confused and angered looking people. Chiron was the first to see her. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. "Lexa. No surprise there... You always did have a knack for hearing things you shouldn't. How much did you hear?" Lexa frowned and looked at him. There was no point in lying. "Enough to know that there is something up with that guy. Something about not being a demi-god?" Chiron looked at the girl and rubbed his temples. This day was just going to continue getting more complicated, wasn't it? "Lexa, it would be best if you just forgot about what you heard." Chiron sighed, unimpressed. Annabeth looked at Chiron and then at Lexa. "Actually, wouldn't it be best if Lexa knew? She asked. Chiron looked up at Annabeth as if she had just told him Zeus had arrived at their door for dinner bearing a gift basket of fancy cheeses. "Think about it. If anyone here understands anything about what he's going through, Lexa might. He's going through a tough time right now and he's getting stared at like he's a freak. If anything Lexa can understand because..." Annabeth trailed off when she looked at Lexa's stoic face.

"Because my father is Hades?" She understood what the woman was saying. Just like that boy, Lexa understood what it was like to be an outcast. Of course, she was not nearly to his extent, but being the daughter of the lord of death did cause her some unwanted awkwardness from the other campers. "I understand what you mean." She supposed Annabeth was right. What he was going through probably didn't feel too great, she understood to an extent. Lexa wasn't really one to get into situations that would lead her out of her quiet life in the shadows but... She supposed if she was in that situation again, she would appreciate a helping hand.

Annabeth smiled, "So you'll help us? Maybe try and talk to him?" Lexa shook her head. "No. I won't get involved in the situation itself. Whatever is happening with him is up to you to figure out... But everyone needs someone to talk to." Lexa wasn't going to be a spy for them. She realized that she genuinely just wanted to offer her hand to the boy. Annabeth nodded. At least that was a step in the right direction.

Lexa nodded back. "If you'll excuse me." She bowed slightly and went to grab the ambrosia she needed before heading back out. She walked towards the armoury and spotted the boy from before standing there and looking at it in disdain. She walked towards him and stopped beside him, staring at the armoury as well. He was quite a bit taller than her.

"Listen... This place can seem like a lot to take in at first. The campers here can be a bit overdramatic and like to stare and whisper about anything that doesn't fit in... but really, none of us fit in." She sighed and crossed her arms. "I heard what happened back there, and before you decide to yell at me again, just know that I don't care. I don't care what you are and if you are different than us. What matters is that you are here now and you have to make the best of it until things get figured out. I don't make a habit of creating friendships but, if you ever need someone to listen or if you just want to sit around in the company of another quiet person, I'm here."

Lexa didn't bother looking at him as she adjusted the quiver on her back. "Now, you better get ready because you are on my team and I don't plan on losing again." She said before walking off to the armoury to grab more arrows.

Ezra followed behind the blonde haired girl, trying to soak up all of the sights around him on the way. He stopped when they came upon the 'Armoury'. Reagan turned and looked at him and Maya. "Alright, so does anyone know their weapon of choice? If not there are plenty of swords for everyone. I use throwing knives. Actually I think I'm the only one on camp who does. But either way," She stepped aside opening the door for them. The inside was amazing, like any weapon loving boys dream. "Look around. Some weapons tend to call out to campers, if you're drawn to something don't fight it. There's usually a reason."

Did that mean he was actually allowed to just take some weapons? Oh man was he excited. Ezra was like a kid in a candy store, he walking in and looked around with wide fascinated eyes. He couldn't believe it was all real, and after experimentally poking the tip of a sword and cutting his finger, he came to the realization that, damn, this was not a dream. It was much, much cooler.

Reagan had asked if they had a weapon preference and quite frankly, Ezra had never even held a real weapon before. He didn't really count fake swords that weren't even sharp. Truth be told though, he didn't even know where to start. He walked around the armoury and picked up a few things to try; swords felt off balanced, daggers like Reagan's felt too light, Ezra didn't even know how to handle a bow. Eventually he found himself in the corner of the armoury where a few kids were talking about their teams for capture the flag. Ezra didn't pay them much attention, he was more focused on the beautiful weapon laid out in front of him on a stand. It was a long double ended spear. The staff piece was a dull brown like any normal piece of wood, but where there should have been metal spear heads, the material looked like glass. He reached out eagerly to grab it and try it out.

"Hey, I wouldn't touch that if I were you." One of the boys from the group called out to him. Ezra blinked in confusion and looked over. "What do you mean?" The boy shrugged, "You're new right?" Ezra nodded and the boy smirked. "Listen, I just wouldn't touch it. Its a spear made by Hephaestus for Khione, Goddess of snow. She's got quite the temper, maybe worse than even then Hera. Anyways, last person who touched it got frostbite on his whole arm and ended up being with the medics for a week. I guess the Frost Queen doesn't really like other people touching things that are hers." He snickered and his friends laughed alongside him.

Ezra looked back at the spear and frowned. How could something so beautiful be so dangerous? Frostbite? How was that even possible? Reagan had told him that if something called to him, he should go for it. Something in Ezra's gut told him that if he touched the spear, he would be okay. Ignoring the other boy, Ezra reached out to grab it. "Are you an idiot? Don't say I didn't warn y- oh..."

As Ezra's hand closed around the staff of the spear, he gasped. A cold rush went through his skin; up his arms and through the rest of his body. Where his hand rested on staff, the brown wood began to turn white until there was only a white staff and the two glass blades. Except Ezra realized that it wasn't glass, but was ice. The boys from before all looked above his head with curiosity and intrigue. Ezra looked up above him to see a holographic snowflake floating above his head.

What the hell was that?

Politely, Maya listened to Reagan speak with as much interest as she could muster. She didn't know how a weapon was supposed to 'call out' to her, but she's seen and heard weirder things in the past few weeks. Nothing should surprise her anymore.

Maya has never seen so many weapons gathered in one place before. She saw the armory once before, when she first arrived, during a short tour of the place but she hadn't gone in before. She had no reason to at the time. Its rather fascinating to see all the different weapons, and a bit terrifying if she's being completely honest. She's never handled a true weapon before. There would be the rare occasion where she would be home alone and sleep with a bat by her bed, but otherwise, she had no reason to need or want a weapon.

Indecision gnawed at her gut for a moment as he watched the others go about their business. Finding their own weapons, and she could only stare. She had no idea how to even decide what she would need. Every time she picked something up - a sword (Nope,) a spear (that fit her parentage, but felt wrong in her hands), Maybe knives like Reagan uses (definitely not.) She would sigh and set it back down in defeat. It all felt wrong in her hands, too heavy, or awkward. Besides, she has no clue how to handle them correctly.

She gave up for a moment to observe Ezra's progress, he seemed to have similar problems until he went to grab a weapon that the others warned him away from. She watched, with unveiled and renewed interest as he was 'claimed.' Maya let her eyes trail back to the weapons, scanning them a second time over until her eyes landed on a smaller pair of blades, almost the length of her forearms - daggers? She didn't know the technical word for it but their length made her think they were more sword than dagger. She neared them, taking in the intricate designs on the silver hilts.

The idea of handling it made her feel a bit nervous, but the moment she picked them up her fears fled. They were slightly heavier than the smaller daggers she had tried out earlier but much lighter than the clunky swords that felt awkward in her small hands. Somehow, the grips feel as if they've been made for her. She gets the impression that it'll be much easier to rely on speed where these weapons are concerned, there's nothing "heavy-hitting" about them.

They were perfect. Now all she needed was armor - another headache in and of itself.

"See, you are a much better babysitter than I am." Cas only half pays attention to Reagans spiel as he passes by her and heads into the armoury, he's already got his preferred weapons tucked into his pockets. The bladed knuckle dusters had been a bit surprising to him at first. They didn't exactly seem like weapons the kind of weapons that would fit in among those in the armoury. Yet, there they had been and the day Cas first saw them he knew they were a gift to him. They worked perfectly for him, the kind of weapon that let him be as quick and stealthy as he wanted - or as brash; Which, he preferred.

He's just turned back around when Ezra is suddenly, and rather unexpectedly claimed by Khione. Cas has seen a dozen of these claimings by now, and he can read the mild confusion on the guys face easily.

"Hey," He heads over and claps Ezra on the shoulder, grinning despite himself. "Pretty cool huh? Looks like Khione is your godly parent." The Less known gods and godesses kids are much more rare to see, but Cas doesn't bother telling Ezra that. "Be careful with that thing, might poke an eye out." He motions towards the spear as he glances to the other new kid. She seems to be doing alright on her own. He doesn't think that Ezra will need much help either from the looks of it.

After spending roughly a few minutes or so minutes gathering armor and what not he made his way towards the roster to double check who would be on which team. Luckily, none of the new ducklings besides the mildly broody guy from earlier would be on his team, alongside Lexa, urgh. At least he knows she can handle herself far better out there than he can. He only spares a few seconds to wonder how useful the new guy will be - with any luck, useful enough to pull together a first-time win for their team.

He returns to the mini campers before they can go scampering off in any other directions.

"You guys are with Reagan, good luck keeping up." He laughs a little under his breath, it only makes it that much more likely that his team will win with Reagan having to lead the new fish.

"See, you are a much better babysitter than I am."

Reagan snorted at Cas' comment, following after him towards the Armory. She stood near the entrance watching the new campers choose their weapons and armor. As she waited she tightened the belts on her breast piece before taking a couple of her daggers, tossing them in the air nonchalantly.

She watched as one of the new comers made his way towards an old spear in the corner. Reagan quickly caught the dagger in the air as she leaned forward with slight curiosity as the staff turned white in the boy's hand. A smile crossed her lips as she saw the snowflake above his head. She sheathed the dagger she tossed and made her way over to Ezra.

"Hey," Cas said, reaching the newly claimed kid just before she did. Reagan put her hands on her hips, pursing her lips as she watched. "Pretty cool huh? Looks like Khione is your godly parent. Be careful with that thing, might poke an eye out."

Reagan shoved Cas' hand off Ezra before she wrapped her arm around the newbie's shoulders. "Excuse you but this one looks to be my teammate now." She smiled towards Ezra before giving Cas a sly look. "I'd watch out if I were you... If you thought it was bad with just me on the opposing team, now I have an ice bender. She leaned in slightly towards her best friend giving him a wink. "You do the math."

After Cas walked away, Reagan looked over to Khione's son. "What was your name?" She grabbed a helmet with a blue mohawk and handed it to him, an excited grin on her face. "So how much control of your icy talents do you have?"

"Listen... This place can seem like a lot to take in at first. The campers here can be a bit overdramatic and like to stare and whisper about anything that doesn't fit in... but really, none of us fit in." Beckett glanced over his shoulder and down at the dark haired girl would was eves dropping.

Beckett didn't know what to say as he strummed his fingers along his crossed arms. He appreciated her trying to relate to him but it wasn't the same. She was a demigod... He... He was a freak even to those standards. After a long moment he finally mustered something to say in return, "Yeah... Thanks."

Lexa adjusted her quiver before speaking up again, "Now, you better get ready because you are on my team and I don't plan on losing again."

Beck gave a halfhearted laugh as he followed her to the armory. With his long steady strides he caught up to her in no time. "Just focus on yourself Catwoman, I'll be fine." He overheard the Poseidon daughter talk about choosing a weapon that was their strong suite or called to them. He glanced around at everything in the building, sighing as everything seemed ordinary and not fit for him. Everything he picked up was off balance, the grip was too small or was something like a spear which didn't seem functional in his mind.

He was about ready to give up and just grab the biggest sword he could find when he saw some metal sparkling behind cobwebs in the corner. Beckett made his way towards it, dipping between campers who were too weary of him to stand in his way. Without hesitation he brushed away the dust and spiderwebs, then grabbed the hilt of the sword. It felt just right. A strong weapon that felt like it was made from him, the unique double edged blade having both tempered steel and celestial bronze.

Beck grabbed a sheath and tied it around his waste. He ignored shields or any other forms defense weaponry. He was always an offensive player not defense. He stuck his index and middle finger through the eye holds of a grecian helmet with a red mohawk and headed out to where everyone was waiting. It seemed the second he emerged from the armory a combination of gasps and eery silence fell over the other campers. All their eyes were not only locked on him but his sword. Beckett gulped, diverting his gaze as he put on his helmet. He wasn't sure why they were staring... After all, it was just a sword.

The game of capture the flag was one of the longest, hardest fought and close matched games the camp has seen since Percy's own arrival. But in the end the red team won with the aid of the strange new comer. Now the campers celebrate around the pavilion during dinner.

Reagan laughed as she playfully bumped Cas with her shoulder. "I don't think I technically lost the bet. I mean... I totally kicked your ass." She waved a fork filled with food at him before shoving it in her mouth. "And you!" She pointed her empty fork across the table at Ezra, "We gotta train together. Ice and water... Dude we'll be unstoppable." Reagan wiggled her brows before taking a drink from her goblet. "So... What are you going to make me do anyways? She asked Cas, curious to know what his devious mind had in store.

***

Beck was slow to grab his plate, being the last camper to actually step foot in the pavilion. After putting some food on a tray he turned to face the crowd only to be met by numerous gazes. He cleared his throat before quickly making his way towards Lexa's table. For some reason it surprised him that she sat alone. After all it was as much her doing as his behind their win. He quickly slid onto the bench across from her, his gaze focused on his plate as he made work on his food.

He hadn't gotten more than two bites into his mouth before a group of female campers walked up to the table giggling. "It's Beck right?"

Beckett grumbled as he took another bite. "Beckett," he corrected.

The blonde brushed it off and continued unfazed, "You were so amazing out there."

Another chimed in, "I don't think I've ever seen someone move the way you did... It was like you could see what your opponents were going to do... before they did it."

Beckett rolled his eyes as he snatched up his goblet and chugged half of its contents.

"That was the first time in over a decade that our team won and it's all because of you." The blonde flirtatiously brushed her hand on his shoulder.

He grew frustrated with all the attention he was getting from the girls, the campers and everything else. Beckett slammed his goblet down, before taking a deep breath. "Well it's not like you Aphrodite kids helped." He stabbed his fork into a piece of meat. "You were too busy doing your makeup to help." He then ate the food from the utensil.

The girls gasped at his abruptness. "He's so tense... Maybe we should help him relax."

Before the blonde could touch him again, he grabbed her wrist. His gaze met Lexa's for a moment before he looked towards the girls. "No, I don't want to sleep with you. I want to eat my meal in peace and pretend that I'm not some fucking freak. So why don't you go seduce some naive newbie and leave me alone." Beckett released her wrist. The girl and her friends quickly scurried away. He sighed as he stuck another piece of food with his fork and took a bite. After a minute or two of silence he looked up towards Lexa, "Are they like that around every new camper with a penis?"

Ezra was about three moments away from flipping out. What the hell was the snowflake? How come the spear in his hand was doing some magic tricks? Why did it all feel so right? The panic attack never came because a hand clapped over his shoulder and Ezra turned back to see the man from earlier there. "Hey," Cas said, "Pretty cool huh? Looks like Khione is your godly parent. Be careful with that thing, might poke an eye out."

Ezra chuckled softly but stared at the double headed spear in curiosity. Khione? He swore he had heard that someplace before, but he couldn't place where. β€œYeah I guess its pretty cool…” But also kind of odd.

Quickly, the boy from before was shoved aside and the girl who had been leading them around swooped in, slinging an arm across his shoulders even though he was taller than her. "Excuse you but this one looks to be my teammate now." She said and then smiled towards Ezra. He guessed she was his team leader for capture the flag? "I'd watch out if I were you... If you thought it was bad with just me on the opposing team, now I have an ice bender. You do the math.” Ezra blinked in confusion. Ice bender? Was that some kind of trait from Khione? Now that he thought about it… He had always been a bit weird when it came to ice.

When he was younger he used to run outside in the winter and be completely fine in the cold when others had been freezing or gotten hypothermia. Whenever he had a hand on his drink, it never got cold no matter how long he had it. And in the hot summers he always did feel much more sick and had bad cases of heat stroke. He supposed he was an ice bender?

"What was your name?” The girl asked to him as she grabbed a helmet with a blue mohawk and handed it to him. β€œUh… Ezra.” He replied and scratched his head. ”So how much control of your icy talents do you have?” Ezra set the staff down to tap the floor and suddenly a patch of ice coated where they stood, making a person slip and fall on his ass. He chuckled nervously. β€œNot very much is seems.” He was glad that she seemed to know what she was doing. He would have to stick by her.

***

After the match, Ezra sat down at a table with Reagan and Cassidy. He was sore in places he had never thought he would be sore before, and he was fairly active in general. He began to shovel food into his mouth, trying to regain some of that energy. Reagan turned to him and pointed her empty fork his way. He had seen what she could do with some knives, he was almost scared of the fork. "We gotta train together. Ice and water... Dude we'll be unstoppable.” Ezra laughed and nodded. β€œSounds good. It would be better to have someone who knows what they are doing.”

When she turned her attention back to Cas, Ezra looked around and saw Maya looking for a place to sit. He waved her down with a grin and patted the seat beside him. When she plopped down beside him, he grinned. β€œYou did really good out there. I didn’t think anyone could be good with two swords but you were. Just like the movies.” He laughed. "Even if we lost I'm glad you were on my team."

***

Lexa grabbed her post-game meal and sat down at her very own table. No one ever sat at this table. Ever since she had arrived, the table had been claimed as her own and most of the campers steered clear of it. She sat down and pulled out a book, beginning to read as she ate. She wasn’t surprised when no one came congratulating her for her groups win, even though most of the success landed on her and Beckett’s shoulders.

Speaking of the devil, she glanced up when she felt the weight shift at the table and spotted the boy sitting across from her. She blinked in surprise. He wanted to sit with her? The again, where was he going to sit otherwise? Her table screamed outcast.

The man had barely been there for a minute when the Aphrodite girls made their way over. She almost vomited. Of course there had been respectable Aphrodite girls like Piper long before, but most girls stayed the same. Vain, lustful, overdone and mostly grotesque.

"It's Beck right?” one of the girls giggled with a rasp to her voice.

Beckett didn’t look very happy about the girls presence either and Lexa blessed the gods for that. She would have had to rethink her pending alliance with him if he was easily swayed by pretty girls. ”Beckett,” he corrected.

The blonde girl didn't seem to take the cue and brushed it off. ”You were so amazing out there."

"I don't think I've ever seen someone move the way you did... It was like you could see what your opponents were going to do... before they did it.” Another girl giggled, giving him bedroom eyes. Lexa was about ready to snap. Not only because the girls were being obnoxious, but also because they didn’t seem to realize she was right there.

Beckett rolled his eyes and took his drink, downing half the cup like he wished it was something more than just plain water or pop. She herself wished she could drown herself in her own chalice.

"That was the first time in over a decade that our team won and it's all because of you." The blonde flirtatiously brushed her hand on his shoulder. Lexa was about to slap this girl. Maybe they had won because of his help, but she was right there, the team captain no less and she was dissing her right in front of her face! Sometimes she wondered if she was really invisible all of the time.

Lexa looked up and blinked in surprise when Beck slammed his goblet down and glared at the girls. ”Well it's not like you Aphrodite kids helped." He stabbed his fork into a piece of meat angry and Lexa watched in half awe, half amusement. "You were too busy doing your makeup to help." He then ate the food from the utensil with some force.

The girls though, didn't seem to take the hint to leave and just continued on. ”He’s so tense... Maybe we should help him relax."

The new kid grabbed her wrist before she could do any damage. ”No, I don't want to sleep with you. I want to eat my meal in peace and pretend that I'm not some fucking freak. So why don't you go seduce some naive newbie and leave me alone." Beckett released her wrist. The girls, finally realizing he wasn't falling for it, ran off with squeals and whispers. Lexa looked at the boy and held back a laugh before looking back down at her book and trying to pretend nothing had just happened.

"Are they like that around every new camper with a penis?” Beckett asked out of the blue and Lexa couldn’t help but laugh then. She covered her mouth as she chuckled and shook her head in amusement. If she had been paying attention, she would have seen some of the shocked faces around her, all staring her down. No one ever saw Lexa laugh. No one.

β€œIt usually helps if they are attractive.” She smirked and motioned towards him. Not that she was fawning over him, but she did have eyes. β€œAlso, they seem to fall for anything that can can give them a popularity boost. The mysterious, dark, new kid who won the game for the red team, I can just see the headlines now.” She joked and shoved a piece of food in her mouth. She should have been happy they won, but somehow the campers were really taking away from the fact that they had been successful against Reagan for once.

β€œAnyways… They weren't completely wrong. You did do really well out there. Thanks for having my back.” She shrugged and flipped a page of her leather bound book. Oh how she loved the classics. She briefly wondered if the new kid liked books.

Beckett and Lexa had somehow become a unified team out on that field, something that had won them the game. Everywhere Lexa attacked, Beckett was right beside her and the two of them downed almost all of the defence before Lexa had grabbed onto that flag. It had almost seemed at times that everyone had just slowed down, making it easy for them to make quick work of them. She knew it had to have something to do with the new kid but she didn’t think it was he replace to ask him.

Maya had been surprised with herself, at the determination she could exhibit when given the chance to fight for something. It was a shocking revelation, something that twirled in her mind for the rest of the night despite their loss.

Almost too far gone in her thoughts until she is sharply, and suddenly aware that she has no idea where to sit. If this were before, in her old life, she would have found the quietest corner to sequester herself from the rest of the world. But now, well, it's a bit different.

Thankfully, she doesn't have to look long before she notices Ezra waving her down. A wave of gratefulness accompanies her small, reserves smile (nothing like a real one, still, it's something.)

β€œYou did really good out there. I didn’t think anyone could be good with two swords but you were. Just like the movies.” He laughs, and Maya takes a moment to examine his words for a jest. But he seemed to be genuinely complimenting her. A rare experience for her. "Even if we lost I'm glad you were on my team." Maya nods, pleased for a reason she can't really name. Maybe its pride, or some strange newfound confidence. Either way, she can't help but feel as if a whole new world has opened up to her. The thrill of it all had been amazing.

"You were great too," She says, and its true. He had been amazing out there, and even their loss had not stopped him from looking grand and powerful in her eyes. His abilities were fascinating, paired with the weapon that he wielded.

"I actually can't believe I managed so well." She admits, feeling only slightly self-conscious about it. "It was - " She pauses, for the first time at a loss for what to say. But finally, settling on something.

"It was fun" She can't remember the last time anything was quite as fun.

~*~

"I don't think I technically lost the bet. I mean... I totally kicked your ass."

"I'm offended." Cas places a hand over his heart, mocking hurt with his expression. "You still lost the bet, no matter the circumstances." He accuses, trying not to laugh through the fake annoyance he's trying to convey. He can't hold it for very long, however, his face splitting into a wide grin.

The hype of winning is still fresh in his mind and it, is, glorious. And he is definitely going to dangle this over Reagan's head as much as he can manage for the next week or so. He still can't quite believe they won, they'd never won against her team. But luck shone on them that day it seemed, and Cas couldn't be any more ecstatic about it. In fact, he could sing it from the rooftops of the cabins and still have excitement left over to taunt the shit out of Reagans team.

All in good fun of course.

Cas quieted down as she started to address one of the new kids, Ezra, he'd been good out there. Far more capable than Cas would have expected. They were talking about training together, and Cas laughed audibly. "Careful Rae," he began. "I don't think Poseidon can handle another transplant in his cabin." He waggled his eyebrows, ignoring the way his gut clenches a little. Nope, none of that now. Cas did not tolerate random Jealousy. Not at all. He decides to ignore his traitorous gut altogether. Even though its hard as hell to manage.

He takes a sip as she continues on...

"So... What are you going to make me do anyways?" Cas snorts, setting his goblet aside. "Ah, ah, ah." He wiggles his finger back and forth, "Just a little favor, when the time comes, nothing to worry your head about just yet." Another thing he could hold over her for a while. He hadn't quite thought of the perfect thing for her to do, but he knew that any advantage would have to be treasured and used sparingly. Besides, he had a feeling that he'd need an advantage soon. Things had been going too well for him lately. Too well for them all.

"I'm starting to feel a bit outnumbered here," Cas jokes to change to the topic a bit, as the other new kid, Maya comes to sit with them.

"I'm offended." Cas faked his feelings being hurt by pressing his hand to his heart.

Reagan rolled her eyes, taking a drink. "I didn't know it was possible to offend you."

"You still lost the bet, no matter the circumstances." Reagan nodded her head in a mocking way as she took a less than ladylike bite of her food.

After she finished talking to Ezra about their major need to train together because those two could definitely be a power pair in matches to come, Cas chimed in again. "Careful Rae," She glanced over at him as he continued. "I don't think Poseidon can handle another transplant in his cabin." He wiggled his brows towards her.

"Maybe I'll just need to kick someone out..." she teased, pursing her lips in a taunting kiss towards him. She then proceeded back to chowing down on her food, capture the flag always left her starving.

When she asked about her payment for the stupid bet she obviously shouldn't have taken Cas snorted. "Ah, ah, ah." He wagged his finger at which she quickly smacked away. "Just a little favor, when the time comes, nothing to worry your head about just yet." Maya then came over to sit with them as Ezra welcomed her. Cas obviously realizing that he was surrounded by the opposing team. "I'm starting to feel a bit outnumbered here."

Reagan smiled towards the addition to the table, swallowing a giant bite of food. "Maya right?" She took a drink from her goblet before holding her fist towards her awaiting a bump. "Kick ass out there! You should totally train with Ezra and I sometime." She glanced at Cas from the corner of her eye, "Take back our rightful stand from the red team."

***

Lexa's laugh actually caused Beckett to glance up from his plate. His gaze peaked over at the surrounding tables where some near by campers looked almost shocked to see her laugh. That simple fact made him smile, if only a sliver of a grin back down at his tray before he took another bite.

β€œIt usually helps if they are attractive.”

She motioned towards him causing Beck's gaze to drift up to her while his head remained slightly down casted. "I hadn't noticed." Beckett honestly couldn't even remember the last time he looked in the mirror. Would he be able to recognize the face staring back at him? His only thought, until recently, was that he was nothing more than ordinary... A freak, but ordinary.

β€œAlso, they seem to fall for anything that can can give them a popularity boost. The mysterious, dark, new kid who won the game for the red team, I can just see the headlines now.”

"Oh boy," he said without any emotion what so ever. "Why does that make me feel like I'm Edward Cullen?" Beckett went to take a drink, holding the goblet an inch from his mouth allowing his gaze to fall on the dark haired loner like him. "If I start sparkling I give you the right to kill me." He smirked slightly before taking a drink.

They sat there in silence for a bit, eating their food. Beckett never had a problem with silence but it seemed that nearly everyone at camp was just chomping at the bit to talk to him. He secretly hoped between Lexa, or the rumors of his rudeness the Aphrodite girls were no doubt spreading, that people would start to leave him alone.

β€œAnyways… They weren't completely wrong. You did do really well out there. Thanks for having my back.”

He nodded his head, never one too good with 'your welcomes'. "Well they're stupid. It was just as much you as it was me." Beck's gaze fell slightly to the sword strapped to his hip. He had never used a sword but that thing felt like it was made for him... And it terrified half of the campers when they saw it. What was the deal behind it?

Beckett looked back up and finally actually realized she was reading an older looking book. He parted his lips to ask her what she was reading but before the words could escape his lips a pale yellow glow seemed to be shinning over head down onto his hands and food tray. But his attention was first drawn to the gasps and whispers of the other campers. He closed his eyes taking a deep breath. He knew what he was going to see before he looked up. Beck wasn't stupid, he saw that ice kid claimed earlier and this no doubt was his moment.

He let his head tip back as he looked up. Beck didn't know too much what he was expecting to see maybe the symbol of Hermes? He did always have a way with locks. The sight took him by surprise about as much as it did for the other campers. Above his head glowing in a pale almost sickly yellow was a symbol he knew wasn't for any of the Gods... A Scythe.

Beckett nearly fell as he stumbled off the bench, his chest heaving heavily at the realization. His gazed darted through the crowd of awe struck campers like a deer in headlights. He needed to get out of there. He started pushing his way through the crowd of campers. The more he struggled through them the heavier the weight on his chest felt and the whispers grew a roar. Just as he reached the edge of the pavilion with the strawberry field ahead of him, free to run, Chiron galloped in front of him. His face so terrifying it'd scare Hades. "You have a lot ofβ€”"

Gasps and even a scream grabbed their attention. Beck saw a green glow coming from the center of the pavilion. Chiron charged through the crowd and as much as Beckett wanted to turn and run his curiosity took root. Something inside him told him his claiming and whatever the green light was... And much more to come was all because of him. The realization made his stomach turn as he followed behind the centaur like a dumfounded zombie.

Beckett came to stand at the front of the crowd, the fire in the brazier at the center of the pavilion soaring over fifty feet in the air and glowing an acidic green. Standing before the flames was a redhead who looked to be the same age as Percy and Annabeth. But the woman didn't seem all there. Her gaze was distant like it was looking passed them all towards something intangible. Annabeth ran up to Rachel holding out her hands towards the campers telling them to keep their distance.

Rachel's mouth opened and out poured a green smoke that snaked its way through the crowd before she spoke. Her voice masked by a deeper more ancient voice that spoke in unison with her.

"Long before time, first lord of the skies,
God before gods, watery tomb shall rise.
Five born of Gods shall answer the call,
One born of time will threaten it all.
Child of water, daughter not son,
Another of death, second to none.
Wisdoms daughter, a chance of the dice,
And winter’s son, not of fire but ice.
A wanderer to keep a watchful eye,
And where it all comes together, one shall die.
An eternal feud, the final fight,
The end of the world in endless night."

"Percy!" Annabeth called and he was to her side in a blink of eye, catching Rachel as she fell limp into his arms. Just as quickly as it had grown, the fire in the brazier died to barely glowing embers. The crowd was silent. It seemed as though every camper backed away from Beckett, Lexa, Reagan and Ezra. It didn't take a genius to know they were four of the six mentioned in the prophecy. They each were the only children that could fit those descriptions at camp.

Reagan gasped a rattled breath at the realization that she wasn't breathing. She instantly glanced back over her shoulder towards Cas. Of course she knew this is what they trained for, their quest and to protect Olympus. But they had been at peace for so long that she got comfort in the quiet. But the fact was something great was coming... Something great and terrible. And she was going to be part of it.

Reagan could feel the blood rush from her head making her grow dizzy. She began to feel the world grow off balance. Her hands instinctually reached out before her knowing that Cas would be there. Her vision went black but her hands found shoulders, her fists tightly grasping at the fabric. "Cas?" she whispered. He was her rock when everything seemed to be caving in. One of them was going to die and it could very well be her.

Beckett glanced down at his hands that were trembling fiercely. He quickly clamped his hands together, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. When he opened his eyes he looked over to Lexa, the pit in his stomach only growing. The only semblance of a friend he may have made in this place and now he inadvertently dragged her into something where there was no turning back.

"Campers!" Chiron's voice boomed over the crowd, scaring a lot of them from the stark silence. "Return to your cabins immediately!" He pointed towards the cabins, his face showing that he wasn't in the mood to be tested. "Percy. Annabeth. Get Rachel to the med hut, then get Mr. D and meet me in the house."

Percy and Annabeth helped a slowly awakening Rachel up, carrying her weight between the two of them. They headed towards the hut but not before Beckett saw the look of worry that passed between Annabeth and Percy.

"You four!" He pointed towards Beckett, Lexa, Reagan and Ezra. "In the house, now!" He then trotted off to the house in a haste.

Reagan's gazed began to slowly return as she tried to steady her breathing. Her right hand slipped to Cas' left. She squeezed it tightly, "Don't leave me," she begged him.

Its not like he had never been complimented before, he had had past girlfriends but, they had all been superficial and shallow. There was something different about Maya that made Ezra interested. Maybe it was because she was the first smart girl to ever acknowledge his existence? Whatever it is, Ezra was in no rush to find out… But he certainly would be sticking around her.

"I actually can't believe I managed so well.” The girl said and Ezra laughed. β€œWhat? C’mon, give yourself some more credit.” She looked rather confused as she admitted the next sentence, β€œIt was… It was fun.” Ezra snorted and took a sip from his goblet. It sounded like she had never had fun before. β€œStick around me kid, I have plenty of fun. Nothing like a little rough housing and bruising to get you stoked.” Ezra was a jock, what could he say. He got a kick from any physical activity; his body and mind was hardwired for the flight and fight.

He would have continued the conversation longer, as he had actually been enjoying it, if the world hadn’t seemed to be thrown into chaos around him.

***

Lexa had been having a pretty good time with another human being for once in a very long time. Lexa was usually prone to sitting in the soothing darkness of Cabin Thirteen, reading books under the light of the green fire sconces scattered on the walls… But instead, today she found herself chuckling at a joke related to the horrid excuse of fiction otherwise known as Twilight.

"Why does that make me feel like I'm Edward Cullen?" Beckett said as he pressed his goblet close to his mouth before continuing, ”If I start sparkling I give you the right to kill me." He smirked slightly before taking a drink. Lexa rolled her eyes and tried to hide her laughter from such a ridiculous joke. It was terrible, and yet made her amused at the same time. What an odd feeling.

β€œTrust me, you wouldn’t have to ask. If you start giving me that vampire-y constipated look of emotional anguish, I’ll end you in an instant. Much faster if you actually sparkled.” She shook her head and slid her fingers over the pages of her shortly abandoned book. This conversation was actually turning out to be much more fascinating than she had first thought. She had yet to meet someone with such witty comebacks.

After eating for a while longer in a pleasant silence, and Lexa’s compliment to him, he returned the gesture. "Well they're stupid. It was just as much you as it was me.” He said as he looked at his food. She looked at her plate with a twitch of a smile. She rarely got compliments and even half-assed, hard-come-by ones were slightly touching. Not thats she would ever admit that.

She caught him staring at the sword on his hip and a slight wince came over her features. That was going to be a touchy subject for the campers, she knew it. And if Percy and Annabeth saw it… Well there would definitely be some questions. Someone would have to explain it to him, and she was sure it was too scary for most, so she silently volunteered as the one to break it to him. β€œListen, about the sword-β€œ She said as she looked up from her book completely. Before she could say anything though, the image of a scythe appeared over his head and Lexa froze, though her expression didn’t waver. She was rather good at hiding emotions; in this case it was an overwhelming amount of shock. The yellow scythe. That explained a lot.

It was a surprising realization, and despite the gasps of terror around them, Beckett seemed the most shocked. He stumbled from his bench and jumped up, trying to rush from the pavilion, pushing through campers. Unfortunately his efforts were for naught and he was caught by Chiron. Of course, that was not what Lexa was looking at though, rather she turned at the scream of a girl, to see Rachel stumbling through the crowd towards the burning campfire.

Rachel's mouth opened and out poured a green smoke that snaked its way through the crowd before she spoke. Her voice masked by a deeper more ancient voice that spoke in unison with her own; Lexa had never seen this before, but she knew that it was the Oracle that resided inside of Rachel.

Lexa listened carefully to the prophecy; one of the few that had come since Percy and Annabeth’s time. β€œChild of water, daughter not son.” She looked over to her cousin who looked frightened. It was obvious that was her.

β€œAnother of death, second to none.” Lexa’s breath caught in her throat and she shot up from her seat with a glare. That was… That was talking about her. The other campers could tell too and looked straight at her.

β€œWisdoms daughter, a chance of the dice,” So the fourth one in this prophecy was a female, and obviously from Athena. She looked around to see girls whispering to each other, obviously trying to pick out which daughter of Athena it would be.

β€œAnd winter’s son, not of fire but ice.” The new kid she had seen earlier. Child of Kihone. One look at him showed Lexa that he was far more scared and confused than most of the campers there. After him came, β€œA wanderer to keep a watchful eye,” which was a bit more tricky. Logically thinking it could be referring to a child of Hermes, as he was the only one who travelled much like a wanderer, but honestly it could be anyone.

β€œAnd where it all comes together, one shall die.
An eternal feud, the final fight,
The end of the world in endless night.”

One of them would die? She looked from Beckett to Reagan and Ezra. One of them could be dead… Or even Lexa herself could be dead. The oracle never lied.

After Rachel’s fainting spell, Lexa looked over to Beckett and caught his glance. He looked scared and confused, and he was looking at her in… pity? She assumed he must have thought this was his fault, dragging her into this… But it was not his fault at all. The fates had a funny way of playing games.

β€œCampers! Return to your cabins immediately!" Chiron called to the crowd in a no-nonsense kind of tone. He motioned them away before turning to Percy and Annabeth. "Percy. Annabeth. Get Rachel to the med hut, then get Mr. D and meet me in the house." He then turned his attention to his next targets; Beckett, Lexa, Raegan and Ezra. "You four! In the house, now!” He demanded before galloping off.

Lexa took in a deep breath to steady herself before walking forward to Beckett. She looked up at him with a serious face. β€œBefore you apologize… Don't. It was only a matter of time before I was played by The Fates. They don’t particularly like the spawn of the Deathlord. There is one thing you must know though… I am Lexa Abernathy, daughter of Hades and I am not afraid of death.” She said to him in a serious tone. She meant every word. Her older sister Bianca, a child of Hades, had died for her cause before and Lexa would do the same. Death was not an issue to her, though she would never admit her true fear of what, or who, she would would face in the afterlife. Lexa looked up to him, β€œIf I have to, I will be the one to die. There is no need to worry.”

***

Ezra felt the beginning of a painful headache. He couldn’t keep up with everything that was going on. Creepy green mist like a snake, weird old woman voice, awfully cryptic slam poetry that seemed to include him and the possibility of death… Yeah, his head wasn’t able to comprehend this. He turned to Maya in hopes she may have more answered.

β€œYou’re smart… So can I please ask you a favour? Come with me? Explain this all to me?” He begged. β€œI may not be able to figure it all out otherwise.”

"Maya right?" Reagans attention had turned to her for the moment, Maya nodded shyly. Reaching out for the fist bump, before withdrawing again. "Kick ass out there! You should totally train with Ezra and I sometime." Maya turned back to Ezra, contemplative. "Take back our rightful stand from the red team."

β€œStick around me kid, I have plenty of fun. Nothing like a little rough housing and bruising to get you stoked.” Maya raised her eyebrows, half amused, half unsure of what she's getting herself into here. Seems like she'll - in the least - have new stories to tell if she ever decides to visit home. As unlikely as that is.

"I'd like that," she says, almost more so to herself. Her thoughts clouding over her usual judgment just a bit. Maybe this place really would be her second chance at everything. She felt herself getting lost in thought, snapping out of it just as a barrage of hushed whispers began to flicker through the campers. Maya half turned, expecting something, another claiming? The other camper that had arrived today, who had taken his place beside Lexa was being claimed. By who, Maya couldn't pinpoint. Her knowledge may have been vast, but limited by what she could easily find out through the books here. Curiosity lit up her eyes, she needs to know.

Unfortunately, her time to ask passes as the attention is suddenly, forcefully shifted onto matters of even graver importance. The campers have gathered, almost horrified as the Prophecy is named. Maya, unsure of herself feels small, invisible among this crowd. But something about it feels off. Wrong in a way that has her more curious than ever. The drive to follow the others to the big house would have been enough alone to get her moving. But its Ezra that cements her choice.

β€œYou’re smart… So can I please ask you a favour? Come with me? Explain this all to me?” He begged, and she found herself incapable of denying. Even if she wanted to - which, she did not. β€œI may not be able to figure it all out otherwise.”

She swallows back the mild anxiety that clogs up her throat for a moment, the atmosphere of the formerly cheerful camp dampened by the events that occurred. It rubbed off on her in a way that had her palms sweating. "Of course," She tries for quiet but winds up somewhere between high pitched and too loud, "I'll try my best to help." and she certainly would, so long as she got the key to this mystery in the end.

~*~

Sometime between good-natured fun and a pointed glare the camp had exploded into chaos. Cas looked around, his annoyance apparent underneath the shock and awe of it. This was why they trained, he should be prepared. But instead, he felt strangely useless. One of the new ducks had caused this, and he oddly enough couldn't hate him for it. At least things were getting spicy around here, who knew what would happen next. Cas tried to take it in stride, just like everything else. Although the fact that this something spelled trouble for Reagan made him want to rip his hair out and scream.

"Cas?" she whispered and he realized that he had been digging his fingernails into his other palm, the one that didn't grip tight to her hand, a little too hard. He felt himself sinking, yet he hadn't moved at all. Slowly, he relaxed both of his hands, though he kept hers slotted firmly in his own. "It's going to be alright," He doesn't know if he's assuring her, or assuring himself. Whatever came next he'd be by her side no matter what, he refused to entertain the idea of letting her out of his sight.

"Campers!" Chiron's voice did not so much startle Cas as it did further agitate him. "Return to your cabins immediately!" He didn't move an inch, knowing instinctively what came next.

"You four!" He had pointed in their direction, though he didn't include Cas as one of those four. "In the house, now!" He felt his pulse quicken, and he stared at Chiron until he trotted away.

"Don't leave me," she didn't have to beg, he had no plans of going anywhere that she wasn't. He smiled, trying to be reassuring as he squeezed her hands. "I won't." He promises, as he begins to lead her alongside him towards the House.

Beckett stood in the center of the awe struck campers like a deer in headlights. His heart pounded against the inside of his ribcage. He almost thought it'd burst right out and into the brazier as an offering for the Gods. Sounded like a better fate than what they all were inevitably about to step into. With each inhale his power poured out from him and flooded around. Each moment seemed to tick by slower and slower.

But the presence of Lexa stepping towards him knocked him out of it, quickly bringing him back to the present. Beck took a step back nearly stumbling as if he was light headed, but his gaze was fixed on her. β€œBefore you apologize… Don't. It was only a matter of time before I was played by The Fates. They don’t particularly like the spawn of the Deathlord. There is one thing you must know though… I am Lexa Abernathy, daughter of Hades and I am not afraid of death.”

Beckett stood there silent for a long moment. He knew she was a daughter of Hades without her telling him. He didn't have to be psychic to know that. She didn't necessarily ooze that sunny disposition. β€œIf I have to, I will be the one to die. There is no need to worry.”

He clenched his teeth at the comment. His grasp on the hilt of his sword tightening as his gaze fell. "It's a brave thought," he mumbled before looking back up towards her. "But something tells me the daughter of death would be the least likely to die." He cleared his throat looking towards Chiron. With a sigh he started towards the big house, and as he walked past Lexa he whispered a finale comment to her in passing. "But that won't happen unless I die first." He held her gaze momentarily before trudging ahead.

***

"It's going to be alright," Cas said, his grasp tight on her hand like he was scared of letting go.

"Is it?" Rae asked. She didn't dare look around at the others, only keeping her gaze locked on him. There hasn't been a quest in decades. Yes, she had been practicing and training for this. But she knew the stories Percy told her about. He was a hero but she would never wish the struggles he had to endure on anyone. In her mind it made sense, her and Lexa. They, no doubt, were the most powerful demigods at camp. They also got along as well as oil and water. She had to trust Lexa with her life, and vice versa. But the scariest part was that it would be the first time in years that Cas wouldn't be at her side for every step of the way.

"I won't," Cas reassured her when she begged him not to leave her side. His smile made Reagan want to cry. The squeeze on her hand made her just clutch to him tighter. She went from tough, limitless and unstoppable to a quivering little girl. She hated how weak she felt and looked. Her gaze drifted over to Lexa who was more composed than her. Rae gulped back some of her rising fear.

***

Annabeth and Percy hurried back to the big house as fast as they could, shooing curious campers off to their cabins. Percy came up beside Reagan, draping his arm across her shoulders. He tried to give her a reassuring shrug. "Looks it's terrifying, but getting a quest just proves how talented and ready you are. And who knows, maybe the Poseidon cabin will now have 2 kickass heroes." He gave a half smile down towards her. His gaze drifted to Cas as his hand clutched Cas' shoulder in a silent "she'll be ok."

Chiron stepped before trio with his arms crossed. "Mr. Daly, I specifically said all other campers to their cabins. This doesn't concern you."

Reagan's hold on Cas only tightened at the words. She parted her lips to speak but was cut off by Percy. "Chiron chill. He just found out his best friend is going on a quest and might die. Let him be."

The centaur scuffed his hoof into the ground before nodding his head towards the inside of the house. There was no time to argue about who could and could not be present. Plus, if he knew anything about Reagan, she'd tell Cas everything that was said the moment they left.

Beckett crossed the threshold into the house. He didn't know it was possible to feel more uncomfortable in this place then he had earlier when he was being accused of everything by Chiron. He didn't feel comfortable enough to take a seat. Instead he stood near the door with his arms crossed over his chest.

Percy caught a glimpse of Backbiter that rested at Beck's side. The sight made him take a step back, dropping his arm from Reagan's shoulders. "Seriously?!"[/color] He motioned towards the sword. "Chiron how could you be so blind? Do you know what that is!?" Annabeth hurried over towards him, trying to calm him down. "He's Luke's son! It all makes sense... How did you not figure this out?"

"I don't know everything, contrary to what you believe Mr. Jackson."

Percy stepped past Chiron and walked over to Beckett so that he was standing less than a foot from him. "You knew didn't you? You knew this whole time who your father was! But you said nothing. You did nothing. You just stood there like the victim!"

"It's none of your god damn business who my father was! This is exactly why I didn't say anything! I've had to deal with being his son my entire life... being blamed for his choices. So why would I openly choose to make that common knowledge here?" Beckett could feel his pulse rising. It took everything in him to not just punch the guy in the jaw. "I already have to live with that. I hoped that this place would be different... but obviously not."

"If you would have told us the truth from the beginning then maybe we could have looked past your father," Percy snapped back. Annabeth was trying to pull him away but with no avail.

"Because everyone here is so inviting? Are you kidding? People don't talk about Luke or Kronos like they're fucking Voldemort! Kids of the big three still hate each other," he motioned towards Reagan and Lexa. "But they're still held to higher standards than any other demigod because of whose parent spread their legs for a God!"

"Enough!" Chiron slammed his hoof into the ground, sending silence throughout the house. "Back off Jackson this doesn't involve you," he pointed towards Percy. "Mr. Castellan you will respect your superiors at this camp. Regardless if you like how things are ran around here or not. I don't have time to play babysitter to a feud over two decades old. This is bigger than both of you!"

The centaur cleared his throat. "So far we know that Beckett, Reagan, Lexa and Ezra are part of this prophecy. As for for which of Athena's daughters, there are at least a dozen of possibilities.... And I'm unsure about 'A wanderer to keep a watchful eye'. This could be a satyr, a stranger, a camper. I don't know."

Annabeth rested her hands on her hips. "This is different than previous quests. Usually a camper is chosen to go to the oracle, we choose who gets the quest but this time she came to us. Everything is different. I suppose we could hold some sort of tournament for the Athena daughter. As for theβ€”"

"Who said anything about Quest?" Chiron interrupted.

Annabeth stepped towards him. "Chiron, you know this is about Ouranos. The oracle came to us because we did not send someone to her. What else could it be?"

"A prophecy and nothing more," Chiron snapped. "I will not stir whispers of Quests around this camp. And I will not send campers to fight this without knowing what exactly their facing and this is the time to act."

Annabeth sighs, looking between Percy and Chiron. "Then why did you bring these kids here and scare them more? To yell at them?"

"Maybe I should have yelled at you and your husband more when you were younger," Chiron said before looking at the campers. "I brought you all here because you're under cabin arrest until I get this sorted out. There will be a harpy stationed at each one of your cabins. I do not want you guys getting any rash ideas like Mr. Jackson over here. Until we give you a quest you will remain at camp."

"But Chironβ€”"

"Enough!" Chiron held up his hands. "I need to figure this out with Mr. D.. Beckett, you can stay in Mr. Daly's bunk in the Hermes cabin since he has seemed to make Poseidon's cabin his home. You all will go straight to your cabins and remain there for the night until you're called upon."

Before the campers could argue anymore, Chiron shooed them out of the door where the harpies were waiting to escort them all back to their cabins.

Lexa looked at Beckett with a composed face, though everything inside of her was constricting. She wasn't afraid per se, but nothing about this situation was comforting. "It's a brave thought, but something tells me the daughter of death would be the least likely to die." Beckett responded to her before looking over at Chiron who had beckoned them to go to the Big House. He began to walk away from her before pausing and saying, "But that won't happen unless I die first." Their gazes held for a few moment longer before he turned away. Lexa stared at his back as he walked away, letting out her own sigh. She didn't know what to make of this. Her eyes briefly caught sight of her cousin who seemed to be in much worse condition that Lexa was. There was nothing Lexa could do to comfort the girl, even if she had wanted to, and so she just moved forward.

The situation at the big house was a mess. Percy was yelling and getting in Beckett's face while Annabeth tried to pull him away. Beckett himself didn't hold back, yelling back at the hard-headed water breather. And then it was all let loose; the big old secret was finally put into words. Beckett was the son of Luke, and in turn, also Ouranos. The quest that had been given to them entailed something to do with Ouranos stirring, and a possible death of one of the children present in the room.

Lexa felt like she should say something, or do something rather, but even if she could think of what to say there was hardly any room for her words in such a tense situation. The whole debacle ended in them being ushered out of the big house and sentenced to their cabins until further notice, whenever that happened to be, no one knew.

Beckett was being sent to Hermes' cabin for the time being and Lexa knew that wouldn't be good. Hermes' cabin was always the most rowdy and overpopulated, and they weren't the messengers kids for no reason; they gossiped and their gossip spread like wildfire. The events of that night would be known to everyone by now and Lexa didn't dare think about the wild mis-spun stories that were going to be out there. She wished she could help... She knew she would be uncomfortable in a situation like that.

When they stepped out on the porch of the big house and the others had wandered off to their respective areas, Lexa took a deep breath and looked at him. "Let me be frank with you; this is the shittiest of shitty situations." She mumbled. "I understand if you dont want to talk, so you don't have to. Hermes' cabin is going to be filled with gossip mongers, so if you would rather not spend the night there, you are welcome in Hades' cabin. I won't even talk to you, I'm good at that." She sighed and rubbed her eyes. This was the most talking she had done in a long time. "Un-Lucky cabin thirteen if it suits your fancy." Lexa said and reached out to squeeze his arm but decided against the physical contact, rather she just nodded at him, took two steps down the stairs and disappeared completely in the dark of the night.

Conveniently for Lexa, she was able to teleport herself around when it was dark out, so she winded herself walking straight into her Cabin. The sconces on the walls flickered on, the green fire burning quietly. What did she do now? She wouldn't be able to sleep after all that and her mind wouldn't be able to focus on her books. Instead she stuck to pacing her room and thinking.

***

Ezra walked from the big house with one of the worst headaches he had ever felt before. He had gone into the room with Maya close beside him, but as soon as he had seen how the adults reacted to seeing Cas there, he quickly pushed her smaller body behind his so that she wasn't seen. He didn't particularly want to bring her into this but she was his only chance at understanding what was going on. So while she was hidden behind him, she would still be able to hear everything that was happening.

Ezra couldn't say anything the entire time because quite frankly he had no clue what was happening. He cursed the fact that he was kind of dull at this point. When they were sent back to their cabins, he made sure no one noticed him shielding Maya on the way out. He waited until they were out of sight of the big house before pulling away from close proximity of her. He groaned and rubbed his head.

"Okay, so let me get this straight. Tall freckled kid who is all broody and shit is the son of someone important... important and bad? And then there was that lady with the vomit breath saying that someone was going to die and I might be that person? And then the horse man said something about not following the quest and Cas and Raegan looked like they would rather be off making out than being in that room... And whats with that gloomy girl who looks like she could kill you with her stare alone?" Ezra ranted, all in one long breath. He looked down at Maya as he panted for air. "What the fuck, right? Do you understand any of this!?"
