"It definitely is," Avery jokes, only laughing when Ryan lightly smacked him. It was nice to be able to joke around with someone, even if they hadn't known each other long. There were quite a few people at the training grounds, either working with that one counselor- Nick, wasn't it?- or milling around.
He could tell Ryan was shutting down on him, but it wasn't unexpected. Talking to someone one on one was different than being in a big group. He'd just have to try that much more to get Ryan to talk, at least to him. He wasn't going to ask the other boy to become a social butterfly.
"Do you know any of them?" He asked Ryan, the only actual camper he knew. Since he'd arrived late, he'd only caught glimpses of people, never names. Glancing around he saw a few interesting people that weren't training; a boy sitting by himself on a bench, a red-headed girl lurking in the shadows...

Ryan
Ryan grinned when Avery made it clear he didn't want to fight. Somehow, that made Ryan happy. "Don't say I'd do fine till you see my fighting skills. They are non-existent," he told Avery, and then looked at where the boy was talking about. He had to admit, the shade looked nice. "I'd rather go sit down," he mumbled, walking over to the benches. He felt awkward standing around like that anyways, it made him feel more noticeable than if he was sitting in the shade. "I wonder when Nick will actually make us train..." Ryan thought out loud, taking a seat.
Bridgette
Bridgette looked around and spotted the creepy loner and some guy she hadn't seen arrive. She pretty much ignored them, sure that neither would cause trouble. She then spotted someone that didn't look at all familiar sitting on a bench watching everyone. Quietly, she walked over to him trying to stay unnoticed by Nick. She didn't want him to make her fight someone. She didn't like fighting others. Walking up behind the stranger, she lightly tapped his shoulder. "I didn't see you at the bonfire," she said, just loud enough for him to hear. She wasn't sure why but she really was avoiding attracting attention to herself.

Avery followed Ryan over to the benches, noticing that the spot had apparently become a bit more popular with that guy from earlier and then Bridgette joining him. But there was ample space, and he plopped down next to Ryan on the bench. It turned out to be an excellent spot. The view of the training grounds was good and there was plenty of shade as advertised. He leaned back on his hands, relaxing slightly.
"Hopefully not any time soon," Avery commented, wrinkling his nose. "Hopefully this evening at the earliest. I'd hate to train in the middle of the day."
He paused for a moment, watching the training still going on. "Maybe we could convince him we're learning by observation," He joked.

Bridgette
"Well, really we just got a boring introduction that seemed really rehearsed, and then our cabin mates," she told the mystery guy, who had started carving ice. She felt a little awkward standing there, unsure is she should leave, but ended up staying to see what he was making. It started to look like an eagle, and she had to say she was surprised. She could never do something like that.
Carefully, she sat down on the bench a good few feet away from the stranger. She wasn't sure if he was friendly or not, but since he was holding a knife, even if it was just a carving knife, she decided to keep her distance. Getting stabbed before training even started for her seemed pretty bad.
"I'm Bridgette, by the way," she said, looking around the training grounds. Two other boys had sat down near boy, and she immediately recognized the loner. Though, he seemed to be staying around that other guy, so maybe she shouldn't keep calling him a loner. She mentally dismissed the idea that he was making friends, because though he was hanging around that one guy she hadn't seen him talk to a single other person unless forced.

Aurae Draco

she looked at Nick and was relieved he understood but ignored his comment in her being weak in human form. 'thats why i dont like this form' she frowned and went to put her armour away and used the opportunity to wipe away her tears. closing her locker she watchdd as the others prepared for training and for the first time took notice of the onlookers, frowning at the thought that they may have seen her little episode. shaking her head she walked away heading for the woods for some alone time.

"I wish. Something tells me he's going to at least try and make us train though..." Avery let out a soft sound, a mix between a sigh and a groan. What sort of training could they make him do? Better question, what would they make him do?
If he thought that it was strange that Ryan, who had been so worried just saying what he was some ten minutes ago, was casually talking about his powers now, he didn't let on. Instead, he gave another laugh.
"It's the perfect plan. They'll never know if you're training or not. And how are you still tired? I'd have thought after your little nap earlier..." His lips pulled back into a playful smirk. Why, no, he had not forgotten the sleep walking incident.
Even during conversation, he did begin to notice several things around him. The dragon girl, for instance, was wandering off into the woods looking slightly upset, apparently leaving training without dismissal. Then the boy they'd sat near could apparently create ice(what was he, then? Ice elemental perhaps? It was hard to tell with the red bracelets restricted so many people's true forms), and Bridgette kept looking towards both of them for whatever reason. He gave her an idle wave, not really in greeting but to show that, yes, he'd caught her looking at them, before turning back to Ryan.

Chase:
Chase looked over to Bridgette and nodded some. "I'm Chase. I guess I'm the new guy around here huh?" He said being more relaxed as he continued his carving. He looked up some and popped his neck. when he carved, it stiffened his neck. "So umm... Bridgette is it? I'm bad with names. Who is that guy standing over there?" He pointed to Nick, he wanted to get to know everyone before he even met them. He look at the sculpture when it was finished and handed it to Bridgette. "Here you can have it." He said, trying to be friendly.

Ryan
Ryan blushed slightly, but it was very noticeable since he was so pale. Dammit, I thought he had forgotten about that, he thought to himself. Hopefully, he wouldn't be sleep walking again for the rest of the summer. Once was enough, especially since it made him hit his head. "Oh shut up," he muttered, glancing at the two people near them. The boy was apparently Chase, and was carving something out of ice. Looking back at Avery, he continued talking. "Actually, I'm not sure why I'm so tired. I've always been lazy and liked sleeping, but never been this tired," as he spoke he drew his legs to his chest, resting his chin on his knees. "How about you? Why aren't you tired? Didn't you say you didn't sleep well?" he asked.
Bridgette
Chase, huh? she thought to herself, still watching him carve the eagle. "Not really. We've only been here a day, I still don't know many people. We're all still new," she said honestly, and then looked over to the guy he was pointing at. Nick.
"He's a counselor. Also, he's in charge of my cabin. His names Nick and people seem to like him, though I think he's a tiny bit annoyin'. Had to go and announce what I am to the whole cafeteria..." she muttered the last part, forgetting momentarily that she had forgave him. "Ah, I mean. he's nice enough. Just wish he'd feck off..." she continued, shrugging her shoulders. When he offered her the eagle, she wasn't sure if she should take it. "Uh, thanks," she said, taking it from him. After looking at it a moment she sighed. "Shame it's summer. It's probably going to melt fast..."

Bridgette
"I'm not ashamed as much scared. I don't want people to not like me is all," she told him, running her thumb along the little ice sculpture. She was kind of glad it wouldn't melt. Chase asked about the two boys sitting near them, causing her to shrug. "The black and blue haired one is Ryan I believe. When he got here he made it pretty clear he wanted to be left alone. But for some reason that boy," she pointed to the slightly smaller guy, "seems to have gotten him to talk. Glad someone did, the kid was a tad weird. If not creepy. As for the smaller one... I don't know him. I haven't really seen him till just now," she said. She tried to keep her eyes away from him, since she felt awkward after him waving to her as if to say, 'Yeah I see you.' She couldn't help it, seeing him talk to the other guy was weird. Even weirder, she swore she saw Ryan smile a few times while talking.
"Chase, if you don't mind my asking, what are you exactly?" She knew it had something to do with ice from his little carving trick, but she wasn't sure what exactly.

Bridgette
Bridgette giggled slightly at the ears and hair comment. "Uh, sorry to disappoint you but, your hair and ears look normal enough to me," she told him, smiling slightly. She jumped a bit when Nick called out to her and Ryan, telling them to meet him later. Great, I'm stuck with creepy boy...she thought bitterly. Yes, it was mean, but she didn't like the look he sometimes got. In fact, it scared her.

Ryan
Ryan rolled his eyes at the pool comment, but didn't argue. He was right, he had no idea where the pool was. Ryan tried to look unaffected when Nick called out for him to meet him here later. Why did he need to see him? He felt a moment of dread, figuring out it was probably about training. Oh great, he thought, but tried to shake it off. Getting up with Avery, he led the way to the mess hall, the only place he knew for sure where it was. It was the first place he had gone to after all, besides check in.

Bridgette
Bridgette was quiet for a moment, thinking. Chase seemed nice enough, and he didn't seem like one to be judging. At least, not over this. Fiddling with the carving in her hands, she decided there was no harm in it. "No, I'll tell you. You don't seem like a mean person. I'm a banshee," she said simply, looking up at him and smiling. "And for the record, I think you look fine without elf ears and blue hair. Though, I guess I don't know what you look like with them," she continued talking, not really paying attention to what she was saying. Instead, she was looking over at Nick trying to think what he would make her do for training.

Bridgette
Bridgette blinked stupidly, looking at Chase as his hair went blue and ears became pointed. She had to admit, he made a cute elf. Then, remembering the camp rule, she freaked out. "Put it back on you eejit!! You're not allowed to take 'em off!" She half whispered half yelled, holding up her own wrist to show her wrist band. "Yes, you look like an elf now, but if Nick sees you you'll get in trouble!" she said, looking toward the training area to see if Nick was looking this way. She didn't want him to get in trouble for simply wanting to look normal again.
"Oh, and about the banshee thing, it's not that cool. I can control men and see death. Great."

Chase:
Chase looked towards the arena and then slipped his braclet back on. He had no idea that he couldn't take it off. "Oh ok." He said about not allowed to take it off. Chase stretched some and looked around, not sure what to do. "You can see death? and control men?" Chase asked a little cautiously. He then looked straight at her and grew a little worried. "I'm not about to die am i? I mean i'm too young to die, i haven't even seen the world." Chase said ranting on.

Bridgette
Bridgette had to keep herself from literally face palming. "Yes, I see dead in a way. I can tell when someone will die. Or something, I guess. Plants not included. And yes, I control men..." she trailed off, listening to Chase ramble on. This, was why she kept what she was to herself mostly. Reaching out, she lightly poked Chase's forehead. "One, to control you I would have to scream, which I'm not. Two, I would never hurt you anyways. I could, but I won't," she said honestly, smiling at him. "You're too cute to kill," she added, her smile turning to a smirk as she went back to looking around the training grounds. "You gonna train?" she asked. He didn't look much like the fighting type, but who knew.

Chase:
Chase stopped rambling on when he got poked in the forehead. He laughed a little bit when she said that she'd never hurt him. He let out a releaving sigh, but then started to blush a little bit when she said that he was too cute to kill. "umm...thanks...i think." Chase said not sure what to say about the cute comment. He then looked to the training grounds and shrugged some. "I don't know. I mean i don't even know what cabin i'm staying in, or anything." Chase said. He then looked up to the sky. "I tend only fight when i have to." Chase added.

Bridgette
Bridgette had to stop herself from laughing when he blushed. "Welcome. And you should ask Nick, there's plenty of open cabins I think, I mean, even my cabin isn't filled yet," she told him, then listened to him say he only fights when he needs to. "I don't know how to fight. In general. If Nick makes me fight that Ryan kid later, I'll probably have to resort to screaming," she said, shuddering at the thought. She didn't like the idea of controlling someone because she was too weak to do anything else. It was kind of pathetic in her opinion.
Bridgette looked down at the carving in her hands and decided she should probably put this somewhere safe, before she lost it. She wasn't the best at keeping track of things.
"Um, I think I'm gonna go back to my cabin to put this in my room," she said, holding up the eagle. "You can come if you want," she added, not bothering to wait for a response as she got up and headed toward her cabin.

Chase:
Chase nodded some, and thought about asking Nick where he might be staying. He was surprised when Bridgette said that her cabin wasn't full, and only imagined if he was to be her roommate. "I'll ask later i guess."Chase said. He looked at her when she said she didn't know how to fight. "Maybe Nick will teach you. I mean isn't that what this camp is for, to learn ow to defend yourself and master your abilities?" Chase curiously, and then stood up. He accepted the offer to walk with her to her cabin. He quickly caught up with her. "So how are the cabins?" Chase asked curiously again.

Bridgette
"Yeah, I guess that is why were here," she replied to the mastering their abilities comment. When he caught up to her, he asked about the cabins and she paused to think. "Um, bigger than I expected I guess. They look more like houses than summer camp cabins. So, they're nice. Not much to do though," she told him, shrugging. Eventually, she found her cabin and walked up to it. "Oh, and they all look pretty much like this," she said, motioning to the building. Before walking inside, she looked at Chase. He was a little bit taller than her, but he seemed younger still. "How old are you anyways?" she asked, about to go inside her cabin.

Chase:
Chase looked at the cabin carefully. He liked it, though it was a bit smaller then the house he grew up in, but bigger then what he's been staying in the past few years. When he heard Bridgette ask about his age, he looked to the ground a bit. That was how everyone started, be friendly to him, then find out how old he was and disappear on him. "Umm....15...." Chase said quietly, not wanting to be kicked away because he was younger.

Bridgette
Bridgette frowned slightly at Chase, not because he was younger than her, but because he looked kinda down and had gotten quiet. Smiling softly, Bridgette reached out and ruffled his hair. "Cheer up, alright? I don't care, I was just curious," she told him, opening the door to her cabin. "Wanna come in?" she asked, hoping to cheer him up. She hadn't meant to upset him, just simply was curious.
While waiting for a reply, Bridgette's thoughts were drifting toward what there was to do at camp. They had a whole summer, and she had probably not even seen half the camp. She had heard there was a pool too, and wanted to go check that out. She had never been to a pool before, she had swam in a lake by their house a few times, but never an actual pool.

Bridgette
Bridgette looked at him curiously, as he stopped mid sentence. She knew she should just drop it, but she couldn't. "Reminds you of what?" she asked, walking further into the cabin and to the kitchen. Her box of cheerios was still sitting on the counter, and she set the ice eagle on the counter to pick up the box. She then, sat on the kitchen table and went back to eating cheerios as she had that morning. As she sat eating, she watched Chase awaiting for him to explain either what it reminded him of, or why he wouldn't tell her.

Bridgette
She looked at Chase like he was crazy for a few seconds before realizing he must not get out much, like her, and to him wind surfing was probably normal. "Um, no. Can't do that. My powers are all dark and depressing... And if you'd like, I'll teach you swim. It's fun usually," she told him, smiling. The box of cheerios was being emptied rather fast, so she set it aside so she'd have breakfast tomorrow without having to go to the mess hall. Bridgette felt kind of tempted to ask about why he didn't want to tell her what the place reminded him of, but figured it had to do with family. She knew that some things were better to just be ignored, so she didn't comment on it.

"Maybe? Come on, you have all summer here. You really want to avoid water the whole time?" she said grinning. "But it's you're choice. I don't mind either way."
Getting up, Bridgette took the carving and went upstairs to leave it in her room. On her way out of her room, she saw her iPod and decided to pick it up. Turning it on and putting one headphone in, the other out, she went back downstairs. "Wonder why Nick wanted to see me," she thought out loud, walking back into the kitchen and sitting in the middle of the floor.

Avery gave Ryan a weird look when he left, hand hesitantly reaching up to his mouth. Well, that was strange, but, he decided as he went back to his food, nothing to dwell on. Ryan was a strange person anyways, even if he discounted the Alp thing.

--------------------------------------------

He returned to the cabin eventually after a long walk around the camp. Mostly he was just scoping everything out, trying to get his bearings in this new place where he was stuck all summer. Yes, there had been a pool(a quite nice one at that), amongst many other things to see. The camp, he finally realized, was very nice and perfectly situated for entertaining large groups of dangerous teenagers.
After his self-run tour, he'd decided to take a nap for lack of anything better to do, and because he knew he probably should. He only woke up when he heard the cabin door open then shut closed. Rolling out of bed, he glanced out the window. It was dark already. That meant two things; one, Ryan was probably off to his session with Bridgette and Nick and two; it was dinner time.

At the mess hall, he wasn't particularly ecstatic about his choices, but that was to be expected with a camp full of creatures who adored meat. Still, there must be something he'd like, so he soldiered on, picking through selections until he had a plate full of fruit, vegetables, and bread. Now, where to sit?
That was the problem with coming in late; you didn't know anybody, and the one person he really did know was doing his training right now. There were already groups of close friends crowded together around tables, and, Fae or not, he was currently a teenager and interrupting large groups of friends didn't sound very appealing.
That's when he spotted the boy from earlier who'd been sitting on the benches. The one who had made an ice sculpture, if he recalled correctly. That would work.

"Do you mind if I sit here?" Avery asked, grinning pleasantly at Chase.

"Thanks very much," Avery said before sliding into his seat across from Chase. He was content with eating in silence, the only real sounds the chattering of the surrounding tables and the clinking of silverware hitting plates, before he realized, oh, that's right, he should talk to new people. That's the whole reason he hadn't sat by himself in a random corner and had decided to talk to the other boy in the first place.
"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself," He said, setting down his fork. "My name's Avery. And what's yours?'
