It looked like it was time for the games to begin. Kierel didn’t hurry in particular to get to the hall, a little wary at the prospect of finally meeting the woman he would be with for the rest of his life. Well, if all went according to plan. Kierel didn’t think much of plans and if he didn’t like this one, his pig-headed little self was quite determined that he could find a way around it. Shaking his hair from his head, he stepped into the hall and looked around.

He glanced across every single princess and didn’t think he spotted a single demon among them. Alas. Kierel was no supremacist, not truly, but a demon would have been easier to warm to in his opinion. Just a little bit of prejudice to get him along for the day. He glanced at the table and its many chairs and guessed that he should sit down—if there was one with his name on it, he sat there. If not, he flung himself into the nearest seat. Either way he leaned back in the seat, lounging like the insolent teenager that he was. A lot of the other princes had grown up fast and Kierel believed that he had but—well, let’s just say he had a lot to learn.

If he saw his brother he took no notice of him and gave no indication of recognition; the two of them had never been close in particular. He watched with lazy flicks of his eyes beneath their dark lashes as the others walked in, including the little sparrow he’d been speaking to out on the green.

"Alright, Red." Matt said, following her. "And yes, yes I am." He kept pace with her for a little while, but then dropped back, sidestepping up a stairwell. He had learned enough of this pace during his midnight prowls to know that there was a stair case leading back down a ways away down the corridor, and if he could run fast enough he could surprise Red. Now that would be a laugh. Matt dashed down the corridor, keeping light on his feet, then jumped down the stairs. He held still at the foot of the stair, waiting for the footsteps that would signal Red and the butler's approaching. Then he would scare the bejeebies out of them.

Viona was taken aback by the neko’s comment, but found it to be logical. However taken aback she was, she did not take the comment as a sweet sentiment, she took it as a character trait for the young man, and as something of an unfortunate shortcoming for the twirling girl. Not in a mean sense mind you, Viona had nothing against her, but she was undesired by someone she was perhaps going to marry. A poor start for what was supposed to be a partnership. But humanoids were dynamic creatures, and perhaps he would grow to think of her fondly. This was all but a passing thought for Viona, because her thoughts were better occupied with leaving to set up her station, before the cephalopod figured a way to unhinge its tank, the creatures were rather intuitive, and thus proved both fascinating and troublesome to study. The troublesome part was that she also had an encasing of newts in there with the cephalopod, and the cephalopod found them to be a tasty treat.

Viona watched them for a split second longer than a normal person would have, due to her temporary loss in thought process. Many people believed her to be a straight forward and no nonsense sort of person, but in all honesty most of her concerns and passions for herself were nothing but nonsense. As was true for those who were a mage for reasons other than the sheer power it gave you. The difference was, her nonsense was logical.

She turned, gesturing for the patient butler to continue on, but was stopped by someone instead. She studied him with recognition; this person was quite tall; he wore glasses, a kind face, and pale green hair and eyes, suggesting a magical back round. In other words, he was her husband-to-be, Damien Grey. Viona straightened (as if it were possible, for her posture was already impeccable) and turned around, holding out a hand to shake. “Damien Grey I assume…yes I am a Mage, as you are a Magician from what I was told. Though for whom Mages usually consider tricksters, you are much more gentile seeming….but maybe that is just another illusion?” She inquired, raising an eyebrow in expectance. Mages were not universally supposed to be fans of Magicians, Mages created and Magician’s illusioned, Mages had boundless knowledge, Magicians had parlor tricks, Mages were scholars, Magicians were con artists. However devastating it would seem for two at odds races to be told to marry each other, Viona was determined to be able to deal with it. Though if he turned out to be as ridiculous a prankster as what she had encountered once before with a Magician, she would most likely show him what real fire felt like. Viona was capable of keeping any grimness from her voice however, and in fact was more curious in nature.

“Oh, be careful with that…and yah just take that one first. If you chip the wood on that trunk I’ll rip your arm off and feed it to you.” Ciel calmly gave her orders to the five servants charged with unloading her quite-full carriage. She had a few trunks, and of course her favorite lounging chair, and of course several cages that her bird did not need, but enjoyed from time to time. Said bird was sitting on her shoulder, chirping orders simultaneously along with its master.

Once finished, Ciel did not bother surveying the Princes that had arrived, or the other Princesses present, she could care less in fact. She was going to marry a Prince, be a Princess, and rule as a Queen some day. The extent of her true in depth attention would be extended to none other than to whom she was going to marry. And even then, if he was boring then she’d pay him no mind after their initial meeting. Cut and dry. Ciel could be described as quite like a doll, beautiful and delicate in all respects, but possessing no heart.

An announcement was made, and Ciel turned sharply to listen to it, once done she clapped her hands once, Demos, her bird, flew away to fallow the servants, and she made her way to the luncheon hall. Taking a seat across from an obvious demon and flipping her hair behind her shoulders, her green eyes trained nowhere, but falling everywhere. “SO….” She said decidedly, leaning her head on the back on her palm and leaning forward finally, “I don’t suppose you know who you are going to marry do you? I was told nothing myself…” She inquired to the Demon in front of her. Unaware that she was going to be arranged to marry him.

People were filtering into the place but still taking far too long, in the demon prince’s opinion. Kierel was growing impatient to find out who he would be forced to spend all summer with—and possibly the rest of his life. Still slouched back in his seat, arms dangling loosely and expression one of intense boredom, his thoughts drifted until one of the young princesses suddenly sat opposite to him, popping his bubble of thought.

He gazed at her absently for a moment, taking in her appearance, her vivid green eyes and trail of hair. His eyes had just moved boredly across the room when she spoke to him—

Kierel’s brows knotted into an infuriating, superior little frown as the girl spoke to him. His violet eyes flicked back to hers. Ah, everyone seemed so clueless. Hopeless organisation, in his opinion. He was a prince! He should be given top priority, his pick of the brides, and what did he get? This parade of pretty faces, rattling past him in an endless procession. It took more than googly eyes to impress him.

“Of course not,” he replied, sounding fittingly grumpy. His heavy black boots kicked against the floor as he swung his legs indolently. “That would be far too organised. But I think the fun is just about to begin.” He smirked. “Maybe you’ll end up with my brother. I pity whoever does.”

Yuki sat down, not really feeling the need to talk right now. Her head was full of thoughts. She was still holding her white violin case in her hands, and she wasn't going to let one of the maids or butlers take it.

The announcer walked to the empty end of the table and took out a scroll. "Here are the arranged marriages;
Kiyoshi Huyana will be getting married to Yuki Touya
Damien Grey will be getting married to Viona Nimue
Brayden Wiley will be getting married to Iris Keane
Matthius White will be getting married to Westley Greyhart
Ignus Salus will be getting married to Nevaeh Reficul
Kierel Lightowler will be getting married to Ciel Lovino
And that is all, the meeting is over. You guys can find the one you will be marrying and introduce yourselves. Good day." the announcer said then scrolled back up the scroll and left the room.

Kiyoshi Huyana? Yuki thought. I didn't meet somebody named Kiyoshi Huyana yet.... I wonder who he is...

Damien was shocked by her knowledge, but merely rose his eyebrow and nodded. So this was his future bride. It seemed she was much more efficient at gaining information than he had been. At least she won't be a bore, the Mage seemed very... Interesting. "I'd have to say I'm quite impressed. Yes, I am Damien Grey, magician. But I assure you, I hold no interest in the usual tricks of my race. I think of magic as a waste of my time. I consider myself somewhat of a scientist, you see. Oh, I just realized I don't know your name. Quite sorry, Miss...?"

"Will the princes and princesses go to the main hall so we can start the meeting?"

"Ah, well. It seems the others haven't had the fortune as to figure out who their bethrothed is yet. I suppose we shall go to be formerly introduced as the each other's intended," he said, looking off towards the main hall. He started off towards the hall before turning around to face his wife-to-be. "Shall I accompany you? I would hate it for you to enter unescorted," Damien said, reverting from his usual stoic self to his natural gentlemanly ways without realizing it. It could get so difficult appearing as 'the detatched scientist' sometimes.

He entered the hall just as they anounced the couples. He looked around, vaugly wondering how the other princes reactions to their would-be brides. He couldn't place any names to faces yet, Damien only knew a few by reputation. 'Still,' he thought, 'I suppose my bride could be worse. Miss Nimue seems like a person Ii could get along with.'

Two young ladies sat quietly in the back of a carriage, hand in hand. They each sat quietly, even know they each knew it would be the last time they'd see each other for the longest time. The two were almost identical. Every feature about them looked replicated.
Identical twins.
The only thing was that their bodies were the same; skin, hair, eyes, all different colour, yet people still considered them identical.

Upon arriving, the twin sitting on the right turned to her sister, and whispered to her other half. "Neveah... I-..." Tears welled up in her pink eyes, and she looked into her sister's. "I'm going to miss you... Don't give them too much of a hard time." She managed a soft smile. All of the workers in their manor despised only one of the twins. Pale skin, jet black hair, and a heart as cold as ice; always selfishly thinking of only her and her sister.

The twin on the left looked directly back at her sister. Everyone thought Lanrete was much prettier, nicer, more talented; Neveah replied in the only way she could possibly think of. She suddenly hugged her sister, and whispered in her ear, "Lanrete, you still make me sick." and without a smile returning her beloved twin's, she left the carriage, and into the castle.

Everyone else seemed to be socializing already, but she stood to the side, with a blank expression on her genuine face. Time passed, and everyone got called into some sort of meeting room. Everyone there had some kind of radiant beauty about them, no wonder everyone here was royalty. It all seemed so...fake....

An announcer walked to the room and took out a scroll. He then released the arranged marriages. "Ignus Salus will be getting married to Nevaeh Reficul-" Nevaeh let out a soft sigh, and looked around for who she was going to be forced to love. Every person in the room was still foreign to her, so she decided to not get too involved with anyone until they wanted to meet her themselves.

'.........ASS.' Was all Ciel thought in her pretty little head. 'Maybe you'll end up with my brother, I pity whomever does.'-could you get anymore rude? He wanted her to be with her brother so he could pity her? What little crevice of nothingness did this peon crawl out of to think he could adress her like that? Couldn't he recognize royalty when he saw it? A demon both impudent and blind apparently, that's who this was. Besides, he gave off a vibe of uselessness, she pitied anyone that would end up with him. And rest asured, she was about to notify him of this, but instead an announcer with an annoying loud voice came in and announced the line-up of betrothed people. It took plenty of self control for her not to correct the announcer in calling her her proper name Princess Ciel Lovino. And when he left everyone was sort of silent, save for two people in the doorway that seemed to already know that they were intended; some warrior looking woman and a nerd.

"Well, to skip bumbling around looking for my intended, I am Ciel Lovino, Princess of the Kingdom Noir. May I ask which one of you is Kierel Lightowler?" She stood up and introduced herself, searching through the male faces to see one of them recognise their name.

It always pleased Kierel to know that he was getting on somebody’s nerves. It felt like a job well done. Of course he hadn’t meant that he was hoping in particular for her to end up with his brother and neither had he suggested it for a single moment, but ho hum, she could take his comment as she would. What did he care? The announcer spoke before the stranger could respond and Kierel turned his eyes away from her quite innocently, listening to the names spewing out of the monotonal man. Now, really, couldn’t they make more of an occasion out of this? Music, wine—dramatic pauses? He wrinkled his nose at a name he did not recognise; Ciel Lovino.

And the little sparrow he had been talking to out on the green belonged to his brother.

The announcements seem to have set off a flurry of searching. This simply wouldn’t do, it was not dignified, so Kierel sat: quite happy to remain there for however long it took, which funnily enough wasn’t very long at all because a moment later the girl he had just been speaking with spoke up.

At least she was direct and to-the-point, he supposed.

“That would be me,” he responded to her, not bothering to stand. “And I am Prince Kierel Lightowler, thank you, Princess.” His gaze drifted over her, taking her in more thoroughly than before, though there was not much else to see. An impish grin lit up his face, almost predatory. “Won’t this be fun, Little Miss Talons?”

Kierel gave bird-related nicknames to everyone. They were not always flattering, though he would have found talons a wonderful thing to be compared to. Such was his mind.

He seemed surprised that she knew so much, and this made her roll her eyes inwardly a bit, had no one had the sense to demand information but she? Was everyone simply content to accept their fate without specifics? Although the royalty could not be too much to blame, because of their lack of say in the matter, and the fact that they were most likely always assured everything would just 'work out' and to not worry about it. Though Damien had most likely tried, but not succeeded, judging from the fact that he seemed to have some measure of common sense. Especially since he mentioned that he was a scientist. Viona had to admit that she was happy to hear this, someone interested in knowledge at least, someone perhaps as strange as she. Although one must not get one's hopes too far up. But she had to admit, things could have been much worse. This person seemed pleasant, and even more so in his tone of voice. What may have seemed as stoic to others seemed rather friendly to her, and gentlemanly. Something she was not used to, most regarded her with a business-like and cold tone. Viona had few friends, and many business associates. She was about to answer his question when the announcement was sounded.

"I would like that, thank you." Viona managed, walking next to him into the room, though they did not bother to sit, as the announcer was already speaking, and confirmed Viona's information. From which their was a momentary silence, until a bold looking girl stood up and announced her own name, looking for her betrothed. Viona looked over to Damien and smiled slightly, unsure since the facial expression was unusual for her, "Well I suppose while everyone is fonding one another, You could show me where your room is? I found that the girl's rooms set up next to those we are intended to marry, and I would like to set up my work station as soon as possible."

When Matt disappeared, Westly glanced around for a moment, then shrugged. He was free to go his own way. She followed the steady stream of people, but instead of arriving where Matt had assumed, the butler led her through some room she was sure they weren't supposed to be in, and rushed her down a hallway just in time to see the pudgy announcer enter. Did all the butlers have so much lost dignity as to eat so much they could puke? Although she did see a few rather thin suitors, almost unhealthily so. She sighed when the announcer began to call out names and nearly exclaimed aloud when he said her name with so much indiffrence. Did he not care that their fates had been sealed before them? By the people he worked for? He wasn't even gusty enough to adress them their proper titles, and she was Princess Westly Greyhart, She-Wolf of the North. With that cheerful note, Wes started.
Matthias White? As in Matt?
There was a moment of silence- when even Wes was digesting the information. If it'd been any other time she would've belted out something comical to ease the tension, but she was stuck in the bubble of mindless shock. It was the kid with the green hair who popped that bubble and brought rushing back her senses; along with slight annoyance. She'd probably need to consider her friends beforehand. You know, in case she was set to marry them.
Wes brushed her red hair back, raising her eyebrows. "Matt?" She called, letting her voice echo around the room over the small chatter that had arisen.

Ignis looked around for a second until he notice Nevaeh Reficul his soon to be bride. She was very pretty in his opinion but she struck him more as a statue then a person. 'might as well go say hi and get that out of the way...' he thought to himself.

He moved slowly through the group of people heading towards his target. His stomach felt like it was in a knot and his throut dry this was a very important time for him and he knew that... his parents wouldn't let him forget. As he got closer to her he felt a the hairs on the back of his neck stand and a chill go up his spine. Once he was infront of her he bowed "I am Prince Ignis Salus of heir to the throne of Altera the burning kingdom."

Not knowing what to do now he scratched the back of his head and grinned.

Ugh.

Didn't she say she'd pity anyone who ended up with him? So much for that.

Ciel refused to even look in the demon's direction for a few moments, so the imp was her betrothed? How swimmingly not perfect could this day go? Everyone in the castle was a damn retard. She was convinced of it.

So Ciel turned her head finally, regarding her Prince and studying him, he was doing the same, though he took less time. 'Let us see....hm, he's down right attractive. Looks like a playboy though. But I'll have none of that if he's going to be married to me.' she was only just now bothering with his looks, before they did not matter, the fact that she found him attractive was really not something to fuss over. She could think just about anyone in such a way, it certainly would do nothing to change her treatment of a person.

The look of previous contempt was at least gone from her face, and instead their was a daring look to take it's place. He seemed like the type to play cat and mouse on and off, only wanting to peeve someone. "Talons? To sharp for you to handle I suppose. But then again you don't even know the half of it." She sat down slowly, still trying to make heads or tails of him, though he was very hard to read, she did not usually have such trouble reading people. Reading them was the first step to manipulating them. "This could be fun, or this could be difficult. That is really up to you though.....so, let us be frank and play a game then." Playing a game was frank? Well in her mind it was. "A game of ten questions, in which we must be totally honest. I think I'll even allow you to go first." The game had already started and he didn't even know it, she was poking and prodding at his personality. Seeing what he was willing to do and not, seeing if he was honest and didn't care what she knew, or guarded and he had something to hide. "Or should I nickname you 'chicken' instead?" She added, he gave her a bird name, she'd return the favor if he so refused.

His smile became emphatically devilish as she refused to turn towards him for a few moments. Oh dear. This day wasn’t going well for her, was it? Kierel was still hoping to squirm out of marriage—lord only knew how, but he was sure if anyone could do it, it would be him. Nothing personal, of course, but he simply wasn’t the kind to be tied down, not so young and not so soon. He continued to loll in his seat, watching as she finally turned and began inspecting him as he had done to her.

She was a pretty thing, he had to say—a woman through and through, not a little girl. Her eyes were dizzyingly sweet, all rainbows and roses, jellybeans and unicorns, but of course he was starting to twig that this girl was far more strong-willed than her appearance suggested.

Kierel actually laughed at her suggestion that she was too sharp for him to handle. Just try it, he thought, lazy boredom giving way to amusement as his lip twisted slightly. To Kierel, ‘fun’ and ‘difficult’ meant the exact same thing, though he said nothing on the matter, simply listening to her suggestion for a little get-to-know-each-other game, like children on the first day of school. Bless.

Usually he would have laughed away such a ridiculous suggestion—he did not like people prodding too deeply into his personality and past, asking all those nitpicky questions he felt were best left unsaid—but at her suggestion of calling him ‘chicken’ Kierel instantly bristled. How dare she? This squabbling peasant of a girl, calling him by anything other than ‘Your Highness’? Kierel’s fierce pride won as it always did and his smirk slid from his face.

“I’m honoured,” he said dryly at her offer that he could go first. He thought for a moment, fine brows knotting as he did so. What would be a lovely question to begin with? “Well, my dearest, seeing as we are going to be married… have you had any man of your own before?” His voice became poisonously saccharine sweet as he added—“Don’t be shy, now.”

As if.

"Damn it" Matt said when Red did not walk by. She must have gone a different way. Oh well. Matt slunk into the back of the group that was walking towards the Main Hall. As he walked he wondered who his girl would be. Red was a pretty piece of girl, but Matt almost hoped to get the little dark haired one. She was pretty in a more mysterious way. But any of the girls would really be fine with him, as long as they didn't know what he was really doing on his midnight escapades.
Mat walked into the hall seconds after the last name had been announced. He cursed again. "great." he muttered to himself. "now I'll have to stand here loo-" He suddenly heard his name, his nickname, not his god-forsaken given name, being called. He looked up to see Red, a question hovering on her lips, on her face. She was the one who had called his name.
She was his match.
A little smirk found its way onto Matt's face, and he walked over to Red. "Hey there Red." He said. "Fancy meeting you here." She would do well enough, although she seemed to be rather sharp. He would have to watch his step or her evidently astute senses would catch him up.

He was looking out the window, wishing this day would soon come to a end, when a soft voice rang in his ears. He turned his head, looking at her, she was indeed beautiful, and quiet young maybe too young. He nod, as looked back over at the window, not knowing what to say or tell her. He hoped the simple nod would be enough.

Damien nodded and smiled back. "Of course. It's right this way," he said, motioning towards the stairs as he started to walk towards their rooms. He supposed that the rooms being placed beside each other were an effort to let the various couples get to know each other. Or they realy just didn't know how else to place them, either way it didn't really matter at that point. Although, he was pretty glad Viona was going to be his wife instead of one of the other girls. He hadn't really paid much attention to them, but he was glad that Viona could probably hold an intelligent conversation with him. Scratch that, she could definately hold an intelligent conversation with him. Thank God for small favors.

"Here we are," Damien said as the reached the two rooms. "This one is mine," he said, opening the door to a room that was already messy, covered in books and papers and randoms notes everywhere. "And, unless I'm mistaken, this is your room." He opened the dor the the room beside his, giving her the "after you" motion. "Might I ask what it is you're woking on?"

(Dear God, I had to force this. Writers block strikes again! It seems my muse is off fighting the plot bunnies.)

Neveah stood when her prince approached her. She softly smiled as he introduced himself. "Ingis, it's an honor to meet you." She bowed to the prince before formally introducing herself. "I am the first born princess of the kingdom of Sonus, Princess Neveah Reficul."

Ingis... The boy standing in front of her was the one who she would spend the rest of her life with. But was she ready for something like that? The way he was grinning, his body language, even the way he spoke in such a manor, it all reminded her of the disappointing soul she's forced to call her twin. Force... That word seems to be the summary of Neveah's life. Forced in life, forced an eternal damnation of dealing with a perfect sister, forced to marry, and most of all, forced to smile at her fiance.

"So Ingis, I don't really know many people here, would you mind showing me around?" F*** it, may as well.

Yuki couldn't tell one thing about what type of a person Kiyoshi was. "I-I'm Yuki Touya.... Nice to meet you..... It seems that we have an arranged marriage..." she said. She looked down at the ground. What a nice way to meet someone for the first time.... she thought. Neither one of us are talking.... It's so nervewrecking "Um....." she said. She couldn't think of anything to say so she just stared at the ground, clutching the handle of her violin case in her right hand.

Brayden watched as the girl suddenly calmed down. She seemed a little more level headed when she wasn't twirling in circles. He just stood there, not wanting to tell her she was right, as she sighed and sat down. She starting drawing the castle in amazing detail. His interest was caught as he leaned in and watched. He had seen people draw like that, but he had never really watched it.

He turned his head when he saw that the others were going into the castle. "Well, it was nice to meet you, Iris, but it seems it's time to announce the arrangements." With that he left her sitting there and walked inside to the main hall and sat down. There he watched as the couples were announced, giving the announcer a glare when his name was mentioned.

"Iris Keane...figures."

"Hey there Red. Fancy meeting you here."

The voice was obviously his and she finally caught his eye. She felt embarrased, for the first time in a long while, though she'd expected it to be a little more akward. She had spotted a few built princes, with tall stances and flawless smiles. But none of them really appealed to her. She spotted a couple petite blonde girls, and a tall woman that looked like some of her friends had back at the Iron Islands, as well as a dark-haired girl who didn't look all that happy to be here. But they both radiated the same aura as Westly did, as her friends had done. Wes jerked herself out of her mental babbling, feeling a tug in her gut. It was telling her to go back north, to her native cold isles and snow-topped cities. She brushed the feeling away.

"Yeah, an amazing conicidence." She raised her eyebrows. "My real name's Westly. In case you were wondering. By the way, you're really not as mysterious as you think you are. I see right through you."
She glanced around. A few other couples were checking out their rooms. Their conversation wasn't going much of anywhere. She couldn't really get a grip on the guy, so she decided to follow their example. They'd have plenty of time to get to know one another. Maybe too much time. With a last smile, curiosity nearly killing her, she turned towards the doorway. She had no idea where in the world she was headed, but figured a good exit was worth more than swallowing her pride and asking for directions.

"You play?" He asked, looking down at her case. He was not sure what else to say, himself dreading the marriage, but maybe she was not what he thought, she would be. Kiyoshi had thought, his new wife, or pick was the complete opposite maybe, she was the same? He stood up and looked at her. A small sigh quickly after.

"I'm Kiyoshi Huyana, and it's nice to meet you Yuki Touya, I really talk, so yeah" He explained, as he lend back against the wall, now looking at her, as he put his hand on her chin bringing it up. A light smile on his face, but quickly looking away, back towards the windows, show casing the gardens.

Ignis offered a hand to the princess " I'm not to familier with anyone here either but i would be more then happy to help you." He quickly looked Neveah up and down. The words cold and ridgit came to mind from the way she carried herself. She was beautiful Ignis had to admit but she looked possibly lonely. "I'm sorry.." Ignus said with out thinking. " I know I'm most likely not your first choice in a husband but I hope I can make you happy." he didn't understand why he blurted that out all of the sudden. "Now is there anything you wanted to see first."
