Decker chuckled. "Well then, Journey to the Center of the Earth is amazing as well. " He said and happened to notice Lacey looking his way. He frowned. She wasn't smiling. "Excuse me, Raven. I believe something is the matter with Lacey." He said. That was the last thing he wanted right now. For her to be upset. She was his little ball of sunshine. He wanted to keep her smiling as well. He stood up and bowed quickly to Raven and walked up to Lacey. "What's the matter, Sweetheart? Something upset you?" He asked placing a hand on her shoulder. Oh, he did not like to see her upset. Not one bit.

Lacey looked up, her eyes showing the confusion that was clouding her mind. "I'm not sure," She whispered. She was trying to sort out her thoughts, and which thought exactly had made her upset. "I just...I...I don't know if I'm ready for this. To b-be a wife.." She bit her lip, as she looked at Decker helplessly. Her eyes pleaded with him to say something that would comfort her, something that would assure her she was ready, she was going to be fine.

Decker sighed. "You do not need to worry. You aren't under any pressure from me to do anything you aren't ready for. Trust me." He said with a kiss to the top of her head. "You'll be fine." He said and looked down at her with a smile. "But I do have one thing to ask of you. Can you give me a smile?" He asked her with a touch to her face. He was glad she was so willing to open up to him.

Shelby

Shelby watched as new events played out. Valentina left the table and decided to walk off into the garden, Decker wanted alone time with Raven, and Lacey was sent to open the wedding gifts. 'What are their life stories?' she thought 'Why do I seem to be the one that's most apprehensive about this?' Once everyone had left the table, Shelby got up and walked through the garden to the fountain where she was met up with by the ladies in waiting. They did not look happy. "I thought we told you to be civil. That was not civil. That was doing just enough to sneak by. And it was rude to get up an leave the table when he asked you a question. Sadly, it's my job to train you...and punish you." when she finished her speech guards appeared with smirks on their faces. "Take her up to her floor and keep her there." the woman said sternly, then she pulled the other guard aside and said in a hushed voice "If governor Delaney asks where she is or what you're doing with her, just tell him that she's not feeling well and needs to retire to her room" The guard nodded and the men stood on both sides of Shelby. 'Really?' Shelby thought 'Putting me in my room is a reward not a punishment' but she pretended she was sad about it.

Decker smiled down at Lacey. "There it is." He said, he put a hand on her shoulders and looked over at the gifts. He was about to say something when he saw Valentina. "Oh, Valentina." He said a small frown of concern played across his face. He knew he'd have to get back to Raven. He really wanted to but he needed to keep all the girls happy at once. He was beginning to feel a little tired when he thought of Shelby. She hadn't come back yet and he wouldn't rush her. He just didn't know what to do about her. "Lacey, Sweetheart. I'll be right back." He said and smiled at her. He walked over to Valentina. God, she was gorgeous. He felt a little strange having such a beautiful wife. Granted, they were all beautiful but Valentina..." Are you feeling better?"

Shelby

Shelby was basically dragged to her room by her elbows. The guards were holding her so tightly that she was sure she'd have bruises when they let go. "MUST you hold me so tightly? It's not like I can run anywhere, and while you're threatening the life of my sister you know I won't do anything stupid." she said bluntly. The guards chuckled darkly. "Miss Edith told us not to let you go and to make this as un-pleasurable for you as possible. When they got to her floor they threw her into her room and locked the door. Shelby landed with a thump on the carpeted floor and picked herself up again. 'Still better than being down there' she thought. Suddenly her domestic, Kylah, appeared. "You're all scraped up, and you have a rip in your dress. Allow me to help you" she said softly. Shelby was apprehensive but her touch was soft and she could see that the girl meant no harm. "That happens when you're being dragged through a garden and across gravel" she huffed.

The girl wiped her cuts with alcohol but found none that were serious or needed to be wrapped. "Go shower up and i'll lay out your wedding night attire and a clean dress" she said as though she had said it a million times. Shelby rolled her eyes but she couldn't say no to taking a shower. When she washed up and got out her domestic had already had the dress laid out like she said. A few minutes after she had changed her domestic came back in and started in on her hair again. Again, she left it to it's natural dramatic texture, put it up in a poufed ponytail, and added a crown of flowers to her head. "I was told to tell you to wait patiently for Mr. Delaney to come and consummate the marriage, and not to ruin your dress or your hair." the girl said softly as she applied minimal amounts of makeup to Shelby's face.

Shelby's face twisted into a disgusted expression and mumbled to herself under her breath. "It's for your sister, its for your sister, its for your sister" She hated the idea of being with Decker, and she hated the idea of having his children more. 'We don't need any more of HIS KIND running around thinking they own the place' she thought angrily. Her domestic left the room quietly and Shelby was left to stew in her frustration.

Alex smile fell off his face in the last photo as he heard Alyssa's answer, his face showing nothing but a blank expression. Alex was surprised with Alyssa's answer. In truth he was shocked. The fact that Alyssa was a prostitute before entering his home disgusted him. But there was merit in her honesty and at least she knew her way around the bed room.

"Did he feel sorry for you before or after he ruined your beautiful body?" Alex asked rhetorically as he signaled that he wished for Alyssa to be off his lap.

"Thank you Alyssa, can you call Bailey for me?" Alex asked, the shock from Alyssa's answer causing him to become move civil with his wife.

While he waited for Bailey he recovered, falling back into his usual demeanor. As Bailey approached Alex posed the same question. A subtle hint of doubt as to if the answer might be pleasant or not.

"So... Tell me about your-self Bailey. Who you are, what you do and where it is they found you."

The smile faded as Alyssa walked away from Alex, passing Bailey. She was smart, she knew her husband was
ticked off with her about being a protitute.Well fuck him,he is going to have to deal with it. she thought, sitting down by Alex's other wife and starred daggers at Alex but, quickly stopped.Alyssa then eyed Arielle up and down. She then turned her head and scoffed.Yea she was older but,she wasen't scared of her...just Alex. She saw how Alex was 'favoring'her earlier. She seemed like like first wife material wich made Alyssa giggle.let her have first wife Alyssa thought. She will get more attention than me so....I want really have to talk or see him much. That thought made a half smile return to Alyssa's face as she starred out into the garden.

Bailey tried desperately hard not to flinch when she heard Alex's words. She hated being asked about her past...and she had no idea whether he didn't know that, or if he just wanted to watch her squirm. And that just made her want to hit him even more than she already did.
But...she had to be civil if she wanted to be First Wife. She had to be desirable. And she wanted First Wife.
Approaching Alex with a small, seductive smile on her face, she lightly draped her arms around his neck, turning to pose for the camera.
"Well...in all honesty, Governor Strenson...that's pillow talk...or at least...the details are, anyway..." She said quietly, leaning in and lightly brushing her lips against his for the camera. "But...basically...I'm Bailey Grace Ha-Strenson," She quickly corrected herself as she remembered her surname change. "And...I was mostly raised by my Dad, but...he died when I was eight, so...after that I had to fend for myself...I never had to make myself a prostitute, thank God, but...my mother told me that part of me needed to be saved for marriage, so...I'm sure you'll reap in the benefits of that...and then the Gatherers eventually found me when I was fifteen while I was just walking around outside, and...lucky me...picked from the bunch on the first time round..." She glanced around her, giving a small giggle. "And here I am..."

_____________

"Well...I don't think that should really ever happen..." Valentina said quietly, glancing back over at Decker. "I mean...I hope you don't think me being rude, but...the last thing I want here is for any of my sister wives to have any reason to resent me...and as both Lacey and Raven are both very attached to you already..." She sighed quietly. "It would just feel wrong of me to do anything...I know it shouldn't, because...well, you're my husband...but...it just feels like something that I shouldn't do..." She glanced over at Decker's home once again, then looked back at him. "I mean...since I was the last bride you conversed with, I just feel like...well, like you've already been claimed, in a way...and that I should just fade into the background...I don't have a problem with doing that, because...well...I think you and Raven would make a lovely couple, because she is by far the most beautiful woman here tonight..." She smiled slightly, taking another sip of champagne. She couldn't technically called Lacey a woman, as she was still only a child, and she knew Shelby probably wouldn't appreciate her compliments. There was still time to bring Shelby around, though.
"In my beliefs, I just struggle to understand how women can deal with sharing a husband, so...before I came here, I'd just planned to stay in the background and let the other wives have you...and, before I came here, I'd never really felt pretty, per say..." She looked down towards the grass, remembering how her mother used to deliberately dress her to hide her beauty and protect her from the Gatherers. "And...now I do, so...actually feeling that people will look at me and think I'm beautiful, well...that's enough for me..."

Valentina sighed quietly, debating to herself whether to pull her hand away, then decided against it. She didn't want to hurt his feelings, despite the fact that she wasn't happy with the current situation.
"...It doesn't work like that, Governor Delaney...you might think it does, but it doesn't." She said quietly, glancing towards the doors leading inside. "I've been watching what's gone on in there while I've been out here, and...constantly running between Lacey and Raven is proving to be challenging enough for you. And I think that, if there's a few things I can and should do, it's keep quiet, not interfere, and not fight the other girls for your attention. Which is just what I'm trying to do." She said, glancing back at Decker and then down at his hand, which was still holding hers. "I AM perfectly happy...as I am...and I just think you should concentrate more on the girls that you could see yourself in a romantic relationship with at some point." She looked over at the doors again, where she could just see Raven. "It's the sensible thing to do..."

Decker gripped her hand softly. "Decker. Call me Decker." He said looking down, he looked back up at her and sighed "Do you think I do not have feelings for you. Do you think a relationship with you is not possible?" he said looking into her eyes. "I don't wish to be romantically involved with Lacey, She is a child. As for Raven, I do have feelings for her but I also can see a romantic relationship with you as well." He said smoothing his thumb over her hand. "You are Intelligent and you are beautiful. If you think I do not see anything between us then you are wrong." He said. "Because I do. How can I prove that to you?"

Decker jerked his head back when she said it was like getting cheated on. He understood what she meant but he didn't understand why she acted as though she didn't choose this. She had to have. Decker didn't have Gatherers choose his brides like the other Governors. He made sure everyone knew of that so why was she acting as though she was new to this. "Didn't you want to be here? I never agreed with multiple wives. I'm an old soul that way but I did it because of tradition. I know it'll be...a challenge at first, splitting my time and attention between you all but I'll get use to it. What trouble do you expect to get in? I am not absuvie, if that's what you meant." He said and his head began to hurt. He rubbed the top of the bridge of his nose, trying to think of what she meant by all that. Shelby didn't agree. It wasn't as if she hadn't known what she was getting into. Why was Valentina trying to fly under the radar? Was she afraid of Something...Someone...Him? All these questions made his head throb. He needed to talk to Shelby. Where is she? He wondered briefly looking around. He hoped she was okay.

Decker nodded. "Alright. I can say that I fully understand but if that is what you wish." He said. His head really began to hurt. He was so confused. Maybe Shelby was on the same page. He needed to talk to her. Now. "If you will excuse me." He said to her with a quick smile and a touch to her shoulder. He moved passed her and searched for Shelby. She wasn't in the garden and the guards didn't seem to know. He then thought perhaps she was in the house on the Women's Floor. He began his search in the house.

Shelby

Shelby heard footsteps outside her door and her eyes widened. What if it really was Decker? Had he actually come to consummate the marriage even though he said he didn't want to do anything the girls didn't want to do? 'It doesn't matter if that's what he wants. I'm doing this for my sister, so i'll play along with whatever he wants. Maybe soon I can figure out a way to get out of here but for right now my job is to play along, and I can do that.' tears started forming in her eyes but she wiped them away quickly. She didn't want to consummate the marriage. Not at all, especially not after living with a physically, sexually, and verbally abusive father for years. None-the-less she wasn't going to be seen crying. Her soft makeup made her face glow and her dress brought out the color in her skin. Normally she would feel exceptionally beautiful, but not tonight.

Decker approached a door and knocked on it lightly. "Shelby. It's Decker" He called through the door softly. "Are you feeling alright?" He asked, He knew she wouldn't let him in. She was thoroughly upset about something, he didn't know what but it must have had something to with him. He leaned against the wall beside the door. "If I upset you...I apologize although I'm not sure what I did wrong. It would help if you told me. Then perhaps I could make it right?"

Shelby's heart stopped for a moment but when she realized he wasn't going to open the door she began to breathe normally. 'Doesn't he have a key to my room? He HAS to know that I can't open the door. It's locked front he inside.'

She took a deep breath and moved closer to the door. "N..No you didn't upset me" she said, half convincingly with her fist clenched. She had to get better at lying. "It was nothing you did personally." she said with actual conviction, probably because it wasn't actually something he PHYSICALLY did. "I'm not upset." she said, finally sounding confident in what she said. "I just came up here to get ready for tonight." even those words sounded convincing, even though her mind was racing with hateful thoughts. "I'm not one for social interaction in a large crowd." which was also true. She knew she was supposed to invite him in but she couldn't bring herself to do it.

Decker sighed. She was lying. He sat down with his back against the wall and rubbed his aching forehead. "You don't have to hide your feelings from me. I'm suppose to be your husband. I vowed to make you happy. I can't honor that vow if you hid whatever's troubling you." He said. "Please, Talk to me."

"I'm not hiding my feelings from you." she said convincingly "I'm really not comfortable with large social situations. I hope you understand. I'm not unhappy with you, I'm just nervous and afraid of that many people to be completely honest. Sitting in front of that crowd with everyone staring at me. It made me uncomfortable. When I walked away from the table it occurred to me that I could go up to my floor and get ready for tonight so I did. Please forgive my rudeness, When I didn't answer your question at the table tonight." Shelby hated that she had to lie. It was infuriating her, but she was getting good at lying to him. "So, don't worry Decker, go finish up with your brides and come back. I'll be waiting for you." Both her fists were still clenched. But she knew her answer sounded sincere.

Decker frowned. He wasn't completely conviced but he'd take her at her word. "Alright. I'll be back shortly then." He said and stood up. He started to walk away but stopped. He leaned against the door. "Just know, I belong to you. No matter what anyone says. I am yours and I will do whatever you want me to do. Not the other way around." He said and started to walk away.

"Just know, I belong to you. No matter what anyone says. I am yours and I will do whatever you want me to do. Not the other way around." Decker said, but Shelby had no intention of saying anything back to him. When she heard his footsteps recede she buried her face in a pillow and screamed. The noise was muffled and barely audible. When she was finished she was red in the face and frustrated. She'd have to further prepare herself for intimate encounters with Decker if she was going to get through it while putting on a show. Suddenly she heard footsteps again but this time they were lighter. Shelby raised an eyebrow and waited to see if those footsteps would come closer.

"...Shelby?" Valentina's voice came through the door, quiet and soft, and she knocked lightly on it once. She wasn't going to risk Shelby thinking badly of her without even speaking to her, and she also wanted to make sure she was decent, and well...alone. "It's Valentina...can I come in?"

Decker walked away with his head down and his hands in his pockets. He was so confused. He felt guilty for it but he wish Lacey was older. She was so excited like he thought the others would be. Raven -if she were excited- she didn't look like it. Shelby and Valentina were so.... His head began to throb at the thought of them. It was then that he passed Valentina. He smiled at her half-heartedly and kept walking. They were supposed to be happy. He was trying but they wouldn't tell him what to do. He made his way back to Raven. He smiled at her. "Hey There." He said taking a seat next to her, exhaustion evident on his face. He really could use some cheering up.

The voice she heard next was both a wash of relief and the beginning of a new fear 'how much can I tell Valentina? How do I have to act around her?' she thought quickly. "Yeah you can come in, i'm alone" she said quickly. Maybe talking to someone who was in the same predicament would make her feel better but again she didn't know much she could tell the woman. Would the ladies care if she talked to her sister wife? After all, wasn't Valentina supposed to stay quiet about everything as well?

Shelby's domestic brushed past her, unlocked a door, and walked briskly through another corridor. The girl had put Shelby's wedding sheets on her bed, which made Shelby even more wary. 'Its all real.' she thought. 'This is really happening'

Shelby could visibly see that Valentina was unhappy as well and oddly enough it made her feel better. 'Maybe SOMETHING good will come of this forced marriage' she thought 'Even if it IS being friends with someone who's just as miserable as I am.'

"Hi" she said awkwardly, unsure of what to say back. "No I don't mind you coming here...I mean I'm actually kind of relieved that you aren't Decker again. I was sent up here to get ready for tonight" she trailed off, realizing what she said. Her eyes widened. "Please don't tell anyone I said that."

She sat silently for awhile before speaking again. "I can understand wanting to get away from all the prying eyes. It's overwhelming." she said awkwardly, still unsure of how much she could say for this woman, or if she had to keep the same facade with her as she did with Decker.
