Avaline Jackson's Story

June 26th, 7:30 AM

"And this," Began the person who had taken Sae from the orphanage, "will be your new family from now on, alright?" Her savior said, introducing her to the other five children who looked similar to her age; A lonely looking girl with black hair, a boy with blonde, another boy with light brown hair along with one with black and a touch looking girl with also brown hair.

Sae, not knowing what to say after the incidents, just stared at them all, not a word coming from her mouth, or any signs of emotion actually. After a long while of silence, she finally nodded and said silently, "Ok." And obediently.

Again, a another silence started before the person said, "Well.... go ahead and introduce yourself then."

The girl didn't exactly know how to do an introduction, so she only bowed, as her parents had taught her before their passing, and said monotonously, "Sae Rin Kang, nice to meet you."

After a little while of cringing and even sweating because of her dream, Sae shot straight up out of her bed before taking a little while to get back to reality. After noticing it wasn't her current life, she let herself sink back into the bed and sighed, "Again huh..."

But a simple dream of the past wasn't going to bring her down since it didn't bother her too much anymore. She looked at her alarm clock, noticing the time, and got out of bed immediately, grabbing a set of clothes she liked to cosplay with, and headed downstairs, passing the wall covered by maps and strings with pictures.

Sae was always trying to find that person who's face, voice, and gender she had forgotten, but that person she remembered to have given her a new home and family and saved her after she had lost everything. It was one of her greatest goals she wanted to complete, no matter the cost since that person was also very important to her, regardless of how little she knew.

So far, though, she had gotten no information, as hard as she tried and as long as she worked. She knew nothing about his/her whereabouts, and that was the main problem including what this person looked like after the seven years had passed since she last saw her savior. But it was still her life time goal she needed to complete.

She went down the stairs, but saw no one walking, in the kitchen, at least, no where she searched, which was basically the whole house except the garden outside. Sae was about to head outside to look, but figured everyone was asleep, or in the garden, somewhere she didn't look.

To fix this, she did something quite stupid and irrational. Sae walked over to the kitchen, somewhere she never really stepped into, and grabbed two pots. She didn't know how to cook, and wasn't very good at it either, so she had really no idea that banging them together, very loudly, would actually do damage to the two cooking utensils.

"Time to wake up everyone!" She shouted after standing in the hallway, still clanging the pots together before putting them aside, but yelling again, "Or Mommy's going to have to come up there and wake you all up herself!" She declared with a silly grin on her face, even though she was the very youngest of the group, but had the height similar to an adult's.

Sae then glanced over to the kitchen and felt the hunger closing in, 'If someone doesn't come down and make breakfast soon....' She grumbled, knowing that she'd probably burn whatever it is that she'd try and cook, which is why she wouldn't take her chances. Instead, she waited downstairs, right next to the railing at the bottom and took out on her her notebooks, starting to write her daily poetry since it was one of her only talents that she had.

Avaline carefully shaded in her sketch of the garden. She loved being outside, it had very interesting statues and flowers she had never seen before. Suddenly, a loud sound came from the kitchen. "What was that?" She whispered. She walked into the house and looked around.

She passed by one of the girls, but didn't say anything. She decided to go to the fridge and cook. She was alright at cooking, after all she would always make her family breakfast as a surprise. She found some simple ingredients and decided that she would make pancakes and eggs. She used to make it for her family all the time. She thought for a second and wiped aways a tear. She should't keep thinking about them. It was depressing and unhealthy, psychologically speaking.

She finished up making the food. It smelled great. She smiled, remembering when she had cooked for Mother's day. She had burnt everything, but her mother still ate it. She shook her head and put the pancakes and eggs on the table. She put out six plates and six glasses. It felt weird to know that this was her new family. She had trouble sleeping, and ever since her family died, she took at least two hours to sleep. Avaline sighed and headed towards the stairs.

Avaline saw Sae Rin Kang at the bottom of the stairs, writing in a notebook. "Oh... um breakfast's ready. Sorry.. if I disturbed you," She whispered, hanging her head a little.. "Could you tell the others?" She asked quietly, slinking down a little lower. She wasn't very used to talking to others outside of her old family, even then she didn't speak much, but it was her new family. She had to get used to them, she kept telling herself that. But she just couldn't see them as her family just yet.

There was a light that peeked through the crack in the custard-colored curtains that hung over the window beside Kano's bed, only lighting up the room enough to see outlines of books, clothes, and other things scattered on the floor. The blonde boy stirred under the covers. He rolled onto his back, the blankets falling off of his face as he did so, and his violet eyes slowly opened. His lips formed a small, tired smile as he closed his eyes again to listen to the birdsong from below. When he first came to this place he picked the room that was just above the garden so he could listen to the sound of the fountains water splashing into the pools below. It was relaxing and somehow helped him keep his nightmares at bay.

"Good morning." His whispered to no one in particular before rolling onto his side to face the wall and wrap his arms tightly around a giant, stuffed killer whale with bright purple coloring. He decided it was still early yet and since he he didn't have to get ready for work until 10am, there wasn't much point in him getting up.

It was silent for a few minutes, the only sound being the birds and fountains in the garden. The, just as his smile faded and he was near to drifting into a deep sleep, a loud banging noise caused him to snap upwards. He let out a small yelp as he rolled from his bed and crashed onto the hardwood flooring(or more like a pile of stuffed animals and candy wrappers), knocking the cup of water he had set on his nightstand the night before and spilling it on himself in an attempt to catch it. "That hurt...", he pouted to himself, rubbing his hip as he picked himself up from his bedroom floor. Looked like somebody was already awake.

He picked up the spilled glass and left his room, not bothering to change out of his wet pj's consisting of a plain, light blue t-shirt and dark grey boxers. He only had one sock on too, but he hadn't actually noticed that yet..

"Morning Sae, Ava-chan!" He said loudly with a bright smile once he reached the top of the steps and spotted them speaking at the bottom. He made his way down the steps and stopped at the bottom. Something smelled good. Western food? Sae couldn't cook to save her life, so it wasn't too difficult to guess who was responsible for the smell.

"Avaline, did you make breakfast?" He asked excitedly, but only paused for before speaking again without giving her the chance to answer. "Sweet! I get to wake up and stuff myself with a cute girl's cooking! I'm a lucky guy~" He then looked over at Sae with a curious expression, though that curious expression turning into a cheery one when he noticed what she was holding.

"Sae's writing poems~~ Lemme read!" He said as he stepped up beside her and leaned his head over her shoulder to try to get a glance at the notebook in her hand.

Junbae was softly breathing, still asleep.He felt a strong breeze blow in from the window he had forgotten to shut last night, he shuddered and slowly opened his eyes. "choo!~" he let out a little sneeze in his arm and rubbed his nose with the back of his hand and looked over at the window with green curtains "..ah..i left the window open.." he said with tired eyes. He sat up, scratching the back of his head while streaching and yawning. "oh well..its just a little cold..no biggie!" he thought. He shuffled over to his bathroom, his hair scraggly and his nose red.

He picked up his Green toothbrush and began brushing his teeth. "Hm,hm,hm~" he was humming a tune his mother used to sing to him as a child. He looked down to spit and picked up a cup to rinse. "CLANG CLANG CLANG--"..."HRMPH?!" he spat the water out in a spit take dropping the cup and wiped away the water all over his mouth. "GAH!!" he grabed the cup of water that he had dropped now pouring all over the bathroom floor. Trying to catch his breath from breathing heavily out of surprise, he calmed himself down continuing freshening up, he brushed his hair, put on a navy blue hoody and jeans, then motioned towards his bedroom door turning the doorknob walking to the stairs.

He walked over to the stairs quite fast rather worried "guys?" he said and then paused when he got to the end. "Geez!" he said "you had me worried, Sae!!" he said with a shaky voice. He pulled out a chair at the breakfast table and sat down face planting onto the table feeling a little woozy, he felt a fever coming on "hnnng..." he groaned.

"M-my hands. I can't feel my hands!" Looking around in the darkness, he couldn't see a thing. It was so dark. Then something bright from a far distance shined in his eyes. It was so bright, he was slowly slipping away from something but, he couldn't tell what. Why was he slipping? Opening his eyes, he stared up at the ceiling for a couple of minutes and sighed. Turning his head to look out at the window, wondering if it was sunny out.

"Damn sun. Why do you have to be so damn bright?" Wincing as the light hurt his eyes, he really hated the sun, especially he was trying to sleep. There was no possible way he could sleep now. Sighing, he sat up in his bed, looked around, and laid back down again. Looking over at the door,"Only if my bed was a little bit closer to the door." Shaking his head, he waited for a few minutes before he got up. Running his hands through his hair, he began to stretch his arms out but, he didn't want to lose his morning energy and decided to let his arms lay wherever they decided to lay.

Looking down at the ground, he couldn't help but, stare at his feet. Smiling at how weird they looked, he rubbed his eyes. He was about to lay back down when he heard a loud noise, his eyes widened slightly and he got down on the floor. Slowly backing away from the door, there was no way he was checking what was on the other side of that door. No way. Closing his eyes, he tried to calm himself before he decided to get up but, for now he just sat there, trying to keep himself from panicking.

After a few minutes of panicking, he slowly got up,"M-maybe somebody dropped something." Opening the door, he began to look around in the hallway. It looked like everything was still together. Sucking up all the courage he had, he walked downstairs towards the kitchen and sighed in relief when he saw everyone sitting at the table,"Whoever did that, it wasn't funny." Sighing again, he decided to plop himself on the couch, that was where he'd usually lay. He wasn't mad, well, actually he was but, he didn't want to waste his energy on talking, it wasn't important anyways. His heart was still beating at a quick pace but, he'd live.

"Morning..."

"Good morning Misaki!" Sae said with a small wave and smile, though she knew she most likely made the girl annoyed, seeing how she didn't take Avaline's breakfast and head outside, "Hmm... act like that and you're going to starve though..."

After a few seconds later, she heard a familiar voice saying, "Oh... um breakfast's ready. Sorry.. if I disturbed you,"

With those words, Sae literally jumped onto the girl, giving her a tight hug of relief and said, "Of course not, little Ava~ I've been waiting for your to come down because you're our only chef!" She cried, finally letting go, and added, "And you're family too! Can't do anything if the whole family is upstairs." Sae grinned and then another person came downstairs, apparently.

"Morning Sae, Ava-chan!"

"Good morning big Kano!" Sae said, since he was the oldest of the whole family.

"Sae's writing poems~~ Lemme read!"

She did feel someone's eyes on her little book after all as she turned around and found her friend trying to read her poetry she always writ. She also noticed something else, making her glance at his clothes, then back up at him as she closed the book, "Well, I don't let people who wet themselves at night read my poetry, that's for sure." She said before pushing him up one stair and saying, "Mommy needs you to get changed first, before you even eat breakfast!" Sae nodded at her own words.

"Geez! You had me worried, Sae!!"

Next down came Junbae, who seemed quite worried at the sound of the two pots hit together. Immediately, Sae apologize, of course, though she was a little sarcastic in the middle of it, "Aha, sorry there Junbae, but Mommy had to wake up all up somehow... It's 7:30 and you're all in bed still! We can't be having that now can we?" She asked, a wide grin on her face before then seeing him, not looking too good, with his head on the table, "Neh, you're not looking too well, are you?" She then thought maybe waking people up with pots perhaps wasn't much of a good idea, which is was definitely not.

"And then there's one more person..." Sae said, waiting patiently at the end of the stairs though her expression seemed to be showing a sort of... fierce attitude, like a bull who was about to charge.

Finally, Ichiro managed to get down the stairs, surprising Sae quite a bit because of his laziness, "Whoever did that, it wasn't funny."

He seemed to have been angry, something she didn't find new as she shrugged and said, "That'll be your new alarm clock if you don't get up earlier than that." Sae chuckled a little before heading to the kitchen, but then pausing, knowing that there was still one more person missing; Misaki.

'Of course she won't eat if she's still outside...' She thought to herself, walking into the kitchen and saying, "Um... Hey, can anyone go outside and find Misaki? I believe she's in the garden... and I would go myself, but..." He stomach seemed to have made a noise, "I'm hungry." Sae whispered before quickly grabbing a plate with little hesitation.

Avaline sighed.
"I'll get her," She whispered. Avaline slowly walked out of the door, looking for Misaki. She looked around the garden, and found Misaki on the ground. She had her eyes closed and was in a deep thought. Avaline stood there for a second. She lightly poked Misaki's arm. "Misaki?" Avaline whispered. She poked her again. Misaki opened her eyes and sat up in an instant, accidentally hitting Avaline in the chin.
"OW!" Avaline cried.

"Well, I don't let people who wet themselves at night read my poetry, that's for sure." She said before pushing him up one stair. He was a little confused by what she meant at first, but he looked down at his clothes as she continued speaking. The bottom half of his shirt and the left leg of his boxers were still wet. "Mommy needs you to get changed first, before you even eat breakfast!"

He felt his cheeks turn a little red and he pulled at the bottom of his shirt. "W-wait a minute! I didn't wet myself! I'm an adult! You're idea of an alarm just startled me and I spilled my glass! I-it's just water!" She was just teasing him, right?

"Geez! You had me worried, Sae!!"

Kano gave a quick wave to his friend. "Morning, Junbae!" He said happily, forgetting about Sae's comment. Junbae, however, didn't reply to him and instead went along looking seemingly tired, but Kano couldn't be sure.

"Aha, sorry there Junbae, but Mommy had to wake up all up somehow... It's 7:30 and you're all in bed still! We can't be having that now can we? Neh, you're not looking too well, are you?"

"It's too early.." The blonde mumbled under his breath and leaned himself against the railing of the stairs.

Finally everyone's favourite couch potato emerged from his room and came downstairs only to plop onto the sofa. Kano really couldn't understand how he could be so tired all the time. Kano would get bored just by sitting down for more than minute, yet Ichiro could lay around all he wanted without a single problem.

"Um... Hey, can anyone go outside and find Misaki? I believe she's in the garden... and I would go myself, but...I'm hungry."

Kano would've volunteered, but then he remembered that he needed to go get dressed if Sae was going to let him eat. He decided to let Avaline go ahead while he returned upstairs and change his outfit; a plain, grass green t-shirt with pale yellow trim around the neck, sleeves, and bottom and a pair of dark purple jeans. He at last realized he only had one sock on, and replaced that with a pair of two new ones before coming downstairs and entering the kitchen.

"Aha, sorry there Junbae, but Mommy had to wake you all up somehow... It's 7:30 and you're all in bed still! We can't be having that now can we? Neh, you're not looking too well, are you?" Said Sae.

Junbae lifted his head up, turned his head over to Sae, and smiled a tired, weak smile . "...heeeh?...im fiiine..hehe..good morning~" Junbae said Looking quirky, Sae looked unusually blury in junbaes sight. The sickly Junabe felt like he was in some sort of dream, He looked like a drunkard with a bad hangover.

His cold was now kicking in and turning into a fever. He had a red blush over his nose. He examined the kitchen to see who was awake. He took in a large breath. "GOOD MORNING EVREYOOOONE!!~" He said loudly and obnoxiously with a cheeky smile while frantically waving his arm. This was completely not how Junbae acts. his fever was taking over. He saw Kano running up the stairs, his pants had a wet spot on the left side of his shorts. "KANO YOU DIRTY BOY!" yelled the tacky Junbae as Kano went up the stairs.

Junbae's head was drifting side to side woozily, his eyes were still examining the kitchen. He caught a glimpse of someone laying in the living room on the couch. "Hyuuuu?~" he said putting his hand in a salute over his eyes while squinting, trying to focus on who was in the living room. "OHOHO!~ It's infamous I-chi-rooo~" He said with a stupid toothy grin. "Good morning, good morning, good morning, to YOU!~" he said ending the sentence with a joyous laugh. Once again,still assuming he was in a dream, Junbae turned his head side to side looking around.

"Eh?.." he said noticing someone was missing. "Where's Avaline and Misa-...." --BAM. Junbae passed out stone cold, his head hitting the table quite hard.

Ichiro couldn't help but, shake his head and sigh. Well, he couldn't help being lazy, it was what he was used to, and he had a perfect reason as to why he'd stop doing everything all together. No one knew the reason. Shaking his head because, of what Sae said,"Better not." He glared at nothing in particular and ignored it just this one time, he didn't want to waste any of his energy because of anger or, because he was annoyed. Looking up at Junbae as he walked in his light,"I'm what now?" Ichiro started to wonder if Junbae was starting to act crazy. "Good morning then."

Closing his eyes for a couple of minutes as he began to talk about Avaline and Misaki who were both probably outside. All of a sudden he heard a loud bump when he turned his head. Turning his head back towards the noise, he slowly opened his eyes,"The hell." He sat up quickly,"Junbae? Are you alright?" Well of course he isn't what kind of question was that? If he wasn't lazy he would've gotten up a lot quicker but, at least he popped up when he saw someone on the ground. Getting down on his knees, he checked his head for any blood.

"I have no idea what to do." He sniffed a little bit, trying to make sure he doesn't freak out himself and bump his head. "Someone get a towel or something." Yup, he clearly had no idea if he needed a towel for this particular situation, he was clueless on what to do next. "And some ice? I think." Sighing he turned Junbae over on his back, poking his forehead a couple of times to see if he was still alive or not, hopefully he was, it looked like he was still breathing so that was a good sign.

"I'll get her,"

Sae grinned and said, "Aha, thanks so much, my little Avaline~" She did a lazy sort of salute, though she did feel quite guilty for letting the girl do something she asked. It just... didn't make her feel right since she had asked previous things in the past that she also seemed to have obeyed, 'I... should probably stop asking her too much...' She thought with a frown.

"W-wait a minute! I didn't wet myself! I'm an adult! You're idea of an alarm just startled me and I spilled my glass! I-it's just water!"

"Yes, yes, whatever you say!" Sae laughed victoriously, as if she had won an argument, though there really was no argument to be won.

"It's too early.."

Immediately, Sae swung around to face Kano and said, "No time is too early to wake up in this house young man!" She was trying to be serious while saying it, since it was something she hardly got to say, but cracked a small smile at the end of her sentence because she sounded quite silly since she was no owner of the house.

'The actual owner of this house is really...' She thought, thinking of that adult who saved all the people she lived with while they were children, but then sighed, 'One day.'

"...Heeeh?...I'm fiiine..Hehe..Good morning~"

Sae grew a little more worried when Junbae did an odd smile, "Yep. Definitely fine. Definitely." She said with a serious expression. She was always the loose and weird one of the group, and she hardly changed, but if anything she didn't like even touched one her friends, she'd become much more protective and earnest.

"GOOD MORNING EVREYOOOONE!!~"

'That... seems way out of his character...' She thought, a face that said she wasn't being fooled.

"Where's Avaline and Misa-...." Suddenly, Junbae's head hit the table, causing Sae to jump from her seat. One, the noise scared the life out of her, as she was a little pale. Two, well... who else wouldn't freak out when their friend was acting out of hand then passing out on the table.

"I have no idea what to do." She heard Ichiro say.

"Well, we're definitely not going to leave him here." Sae confirmed.

"Someone get a towel or something. And some ice? I think."

A small chuckle came from Sae's mouth at that and responded, "You've clearly never taken care of someone with a fever then."

She grabbed one of Junbae's arms, putting it around her neck, but not moving from the kitchen, knowing she'd probably drop the poor guy on the way up the stairs. Therefore, she took a deep breath and shouted to the garden, putting both hands over Junbae's ears since her voice probably would be painful to hear in his state, "Little Avaline! Misaki! Junbae's got a fever! Could you help me bring him up the stairs?" She asked before slowly getting him off the chair and slowly working her way out of the kitchen.

"Eh...you shouldn't put your face so close to people," Misaki said a little annoyed while getting up. "That kinda hurt," She muttered rubbing her forehead. Hearing a loud thump Misaki cursed a little under her breath," What the hell was that?" Shortly after she heard Sae calling for her and Avaline, Sae's voice sounding urgent. "Well let's see what the commotion is," Misaki said looking at Avaline out of the corner of her eye motioning her to follow.

Upon coming inside Misaki saw Junbae out of it and Sae struggling to keep him up. "Geez the idiot can't even take care of himself, well we should get him upstairs," Misaki said as she grabbed Junbae's other arm and started dragging him upstairs, " Wait until you wake up buddy we are gonna have a little talk, making me drag you up the stairs and all," Misaki murmured to him. "You know Sae he really isn't even that heavy, for a guy that is."

Getting to the top of the stairs with the help of Sae, Misaki basically dragged him all the way into his bed, " You really are a pain," Misaki said putting the covers on him. "My job here is done I'm guessing one of you two girls will be checking up on his temperature and such," She said while heading to her room, gathering a some items including a dagger which she hid under her cloak that she just put on.

Heading downstairs into the kitchen Misaki glanced at her food but shook her head, "I'm heading out for a bit, come if you want but I'd rather you didn't, I have some...business to attend to and I'll be back soon." Leaving the kitchen Misaki opened the front door letting out an annoyed sigh. "Just for a bit longer Misaki, you only have to bear with it for a bit longer," and with that she left the house.

Avaline sighed, moving aside so Misaki could get past her. "He must have a really high fever," She whispered. She went to the bathroom with the medicine cabinet and grabbed some fever sinking medication. She put it in water and crushed it up. She lightly shook Junbae, trying to wake him up. She sighed and out it on his nightstand and thought for a moment.

She let Junbae rest for a little bit after trying to wake him up some more. Then she sighed. She carefully pried his mouth open and slowly poured the water in his mouth. She then forced his mouth shut. He swallowed it, but was still asleep. She sighed.

"Sae, could you try to wake him up while I get the thermometer? I haven't had much luck with him, and you'll probably do a better job then me, " Avaline said. "We need to know how high his temperature is, his fever seems really bad and it would be much easier if he was awake," she added.

This morning seemed oddly busier than the usual one's Kano was used to. Of course morning's in this house were often lively and interesting, but this morning was turned different after Junbae began acting rather cheery and loud as he sat at the kitchen table. At first Kano was pretty happy seeing the naturally calm Junbae acting a lot more energetic than he normally does, that was until the brown-haired boy face-planted the table in front of him mid-sentence. Kano had already made himself a plate of Avaline's pancakes and eggs and filled himself up a glass of coffee with extra cream and sugar when the impact of his friends forehead against the table nearly knocked over his glass. Right away Ichiro had rushed over to him while Kano remained where he was with a confused expression on his face. He wasn't really sure what just happened, to be honest.

"Someone get a towel or something. And some ice? I think." He heard Ichiro say as he checked Junbae over.

"You've clearly never taken care of someone with a fever then."

Kano rose from his seat after hearing what Sae had to say to Ichiro about Junbae having a fever. "Junbae's sick?!" He said, sounding both worried and surprised.

"Little Avaline! Misaki! Junbae's got a fever! Could you help me bring him up the stairs?" Sae called loudly after pulling Junbae's arm around her neck to try and stand him up. Before long, both girls had come in from the garden and Misaki assisted Sae in bringing the sickly boy up the stairs. Kano, however, remained downstairs with Ichiro.

He took a minute to go over the scene in his head that had just taken place before giving Ichiro a big smile and a thumbs up.

"I've never seen you move that fast, Ichi-kun! You get a gold star for your effort!" He giggled at himself before sitting back down to eat more of his breakfast. He didn't want it to get cold when he barely started eating.

After a little while Misaki returned downstairs, but walked right by her plate of food that still hadn't been touched. "I'm heading out for a bit, come if you want but I'd rather you didn't, I have some...business to attend to and I'll be back soon."

The blonde watched her curiously as she made her way to the front door. He stood up quickly, shoveling another fork full of eggs into his mouth and then taking a gulp of his coffee before giving a quick wave to Ichiro as he left to follow Misaki. By the time Kano reached the outside of the mansion he had to jog a little ways to catch up to her, since he spent a minute lacing up his shoes. Once he was beside her, he looked ahead with his normal little smile as he walked and tucked his fingers, save for his thumbs, into the front pockets of his jeans.

"So where are we going, Misaki?" He asked after a few moments of silence, tilting his head a little to look down at her. Before she could answer he gave her a mischievous grin. "Lemme guess, we're gunna meet up with your boyfriend and I'm gunna find out that he proposed to you, right?", he said jokingly with a chuckle before his expression turned somewhat serious and he shook his finger back and forth at her. "He'd better share. It wouldn't be fair if he got you all to himself!"

"Were going to Japan, son." Said a soft, calm voice. "Yeah! , yeah! were going to Japan, big brother!" Continued a giggly childs voice. "We are starting a new life.." Said another voice, soothing and kind. "P-papa...Yanri!...Papa!..Mama....Mama!!" said Junbae.

Junbae couldn't make out their faces, they were too blury and distant, They appeared to be in some feild, they were standing next to tall tree's, glowly tall grasses given their color by the sun, tall...green..
"Y-..yeah! im excited too!" He began running towards the blury figures. His eyes teary with Joy, his hair flailing in the breeze, the tall grasses making rustling sounds beneath his feet with every step he took, the light of the sun lightening the hue of his eyes .."I-...i...wait!.. your too far!.." He said, laughing, smiling, his arm outsretched as if he were trying to reach them.

Running...running..it started to rain. "Plip--plip--SHHHHH---" The soft rain drops turned into a hard down pour. everything turned dark..the tall glowly grasses were now droopy, colorless. His hair now wet at sticking tohis forehead. "HYA!?.." he halted his running, winicing at the razor sharp rain drops hitting at his skin. "STAY THERE" he yelled to his family, he started running again, faster, sheilding his face above his eyes with his arm.

"BAM---CRAAACK--" " "AH!? a glint of lightning lit up the darkness, he gasped, a strange sound.. he looked to were his family was. "MAMA, PAPA, YANRI!" He began running faster, and faster. One by one, trees were falling. "RUN....RUUN!!!" he said yelling..his voice hoarse. Finnaly, he could make out their faces, they looked up at the falling trees.. petrified..fear ridden eyes.. Junbae began crying, sobbing, yelling running as fast as he could, a tree had fallen on his leg. His leg was trapped under a fallen tree... preventing him from going any farther, he was struggling..he called out to his family, sobbing, pushing at the tree, The whistling winds, the sound of pourning rain, his family. Evreything slowed down, the sounds stopped, he looked at his family, the small little girl reached out a hand "Big bro-..."...trees toppling them.

"--GASP--" Junbae shot up out of bed, his eyes wide and dialated, trembling, his heart pounding, his forehead sweaty, his lips slightly parted. He grabbed his face in his hands and began sobbing uncontrolably. Not noticing Sae was in the room. "..mama..papa...Yanri.....Yanri" He hugged his knees, hiding his face ontop of them, trying to stop the sobbing. He drew his knees closer to his chest. "come back.." he said under his breath. He then looked up. Wiped his eyes. And calmed down. "J-..just a dream...shake it off...i can't let evreyone see me like this, just a dream.....two dreams..in one night, huh" he said in his head, he realized something.. it's day. He looked towards his window. "Oh?...morning."
He tried cheering himself up by remembering what happend in the first dream, "hah!..ive gotta tell evreyone about that dream.." he thought, chuckling to himself. He wiped his eyes once more, noticing the color of his hoodie, "Eh...?" he paused staring at his his sleeve. "when did i?---" his eyes widened. "th-..that first dream...was....real?" he said in his head.

He grabbed the sides of his head and gripped his hair. "i..have to aplogize!...idiot!!"he was blushing. He threw his blanket off of him, and did his bed. While fixing his bed, he noticed some medicine on his night stand.."...im so stupid.." In the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of orange, someones was..in his room... he saw Sae, it was Sae in his room. "S-SAE?" he said and jolted backwards with a scraggly smile and a twitchy eye with a huge blush on his face, realizing she had just seen his emotional episode. He looked down at the floor, and scratched the back of his head then looked up at Sae again. "Oh dear..."

"You've clearly never taken care of someone with a fever then."

"You are clearly right about that." Sadly, that was the truth.

"Little Avaline! Misaki! Junbae's got a fever! Could you help me bring him up the stairs?"

"You didn't ask me so." Ichiro sighed and plopped back down on the couch,"Well, at least I got up." He wasn't going to lay there he did have a heart. "I've never seen you move that fast, Ichi-kun! You get a gold star for your effort!" Looking over at Kano, Ichiro,"Yeah, yeah." Shaking his head he looked away, he didn't need any gold star. Getting back to his lazy state, he hoped Junbae was okay but, he wasn't going up stairs to check and see.

"I'm heading out for a bit, come if you want but I'd rather you didn't, I have some...business to attend to and I'll be back soon." He heard Misaki say when she came downstairs.

He wondered what she was doing but, he shook his head. He really wasn't the one to get into other peoples business. Sighing he sat up and looked around. Getting up he walked outside to the backyard, sighing in relief,"This is the last time I am going to move, the last time."

Ichiro looked around outside and sat down on the grass,"It's decent enough." He laid down on his back and smiled. Looking up at the sky, he realized how blue it was, despite the clouds that were rolling by. He always wondered what it would be like to be a cloud. He didn't have to worry about getting up, or doing anything. Remembering what Sae had said.

"You've clearly never taken care of someone with a fever then."
Well, actually he couldn't he was the one that was always sick when he was little, and as he grew up. Plus, not having to use his hands, were the main reason he was home schooled. Sadly looking away from the sky and closing his eyes, it was hard for him to get around then, and that's probably the reason he doesn't do anything now. He doesn't want to do much of anything, if that would cause him to lose his hands.

"He must have a really high fever,"

"Hmm... you think?" Sae asked, crossing her arms to get comfortable as she looked back onto the sick on in the room, "Hopefully the recovery won't take too long..." She muttered, not liking it when one of her family members was absent, in any way.

"Sae, could you try to wake him up while I get the thermometer? I haven't had much luck with him, and you'll probably do a better job then me. We need to know how high his temperature is, his fever seems really bad and it would be much easier if he was awake,"

Sae was spaced out for a little while, since her mind was always drifting constantly before she finally responded, "Oh, yeah, I'll try, I guess." She shrugged, not exactly certain if she should wake him up, but decided to do what she was asked as she walked near the bed before Junbae bursted out of the bed with a large gasp, making Sae take a few steps back out of surprise.

"..mama..papa...Yanri.....Yanri... Come back... Oh?...morning. Eh...? When did i?--- Th-..that first dream...was....real?"

Sae stood quiet, figuring she wasn't noticed yet and just stared, 'What's going on here...?' She wanted to ask what was going on, but only closed her mouth after thinking, not knowing the approach she should take since she had never seen Junbae like that before, making her quite suspicious that something tragic happened in the dream he was having.

Again, while she was spacing out, still thinking she was unnoticed, she suddenly heard him shout, "S-SAE?"

"Y-Yes!?" Sae yelled a little suddenly out of the immediate rise in volume. She was a little freaked out of first since they both began to yell until she noticed that Junbae seemed shamed, or perhaps embarrassed, 'One of the two.' She thought before slowly calming down.

"Oh dear..."

Sae was planning on saying something, but instead, pointed to the bed and demanded, "Lay back down! Right now! Mommy's orders!" She said, grabbing a chair behind her for herself to sit down on since she was standing that whole time.

She then took a deep breath and said, "You... looked like you had quite a nightmare just then. Wanna get it out? If, it's not too much to take in, that is." Sae offered, knowing that talking things out didn't help all the time.

But before letting him continue, she went to close the door, but peered outside for a moment, noticing everyone was gone, murmuring to herself, "Strange... Avaline's getting the thermometer, I'm surprised that Ichiro has even a little energy to move.. Huh, where'd he go.... then where did Misaki and Kano go..?" But after thinking a little while, she decided to just shrug it off. But she wasn't done there, "Little Avaline! If you could, find that little lazy boy for me please?" She referred to Ichiro, since she usually liked to know where everyone was.

"Anyways..." Sae said, sitting back into her chair, "The offer to talk it off still stands." She grinned, hoping to lighten the mood a little.

Avaline heard Sae call from the other room. She opened the medicine cabinet and grabbed the thermometer. She walked back into Junbae's room and handed the thermometer to Sae. "I'll go find Ichiro," Avaline noticed that Junbae was awake. "Thanks for waking him up," She whispered before leaving the room. Avaline walked down the stairs and looked around. The house was oddly quiet. She looked around. No one seemed to be inside. So she walked outside, figuring that maybe somebody was out in the garden. She doubted that she would find anyone though.

Avaline walked out into the backyard. She didn't see any sign of Misaki or Kano, but she eventually found Ichiro in the grass. She looked around. "Oh, there you are. Sae asked me to find you," She greeted him. She looked around. "Do you know where Misaki and Kano went?" Avaline asked. She didn't know if Ichiro would know any more than she did, but it was worth a try. After all, he layed around a lot and he might have seen or heard something.

"Y-Yes!?"said sae, she jumped back in surprise, Junbae felt bad for yelling. Just as he was about to apologize for raising his voice "i!-..--" Junbae began, but then Sae said "Lay back down! Right now! Mommy's orders!" pulling up a chair from behind her for herself to sit down. Junbae smiled nervously and laughed a bit, "Ah..y-yes Ma'am.." he lifted the blanket quickly from from his bed, and proped his pillow up against the headboard so he could sit up. Junbae looked down at his sheets with a distressed expression gripping at his sheets.

Suddenly, Avaline came in. Junabe smiled at seeing her. She gave Sae a thermometer, then whsipered something to Sae. Junbae couldn't hear what Avaline had whispered, he looked at Sae, then back at Avaline. "What with the whispering?..." thought Junbae, he then looked back at his sheets.

Sae took in a breath. Junbae looked up from his sheets at Sae. "You... looked like you had quite a nightmare just then. Wanna get it out? If, it's not too much to take in, that is." She began, and looked back at Avaline to say something. "Little Avaline! If you could, find that little lazy boy for me please?"..."Lazy boy?" Thought Junbae."...Ah!.. Ichiro!" he realized and laughed to himself.

Sae continued her qeustion. "Anyways...The offer to talk it off still stands."Junbae found himself looking back at his sheets again, smiling to himself, his shoulders jerked up feeling hesitant to bring up unpleasent memories again. "ah...it..was a dream. About when my parent's and sister where alive.." he began, he figured if he stayed quiet, Sae would force it out of him."Sae..im sorry for troubling you like this.." feeling a sudden feeling of guilt wash over him. Then Junbae realized she had seen him crying as well.. he looked at Sae, rubbing the back of his head out of anxiousnes. "Haha..you saw me crying, didn't you?" he looked the other way avoiding eye contact. "...sorry, im..very sorry." he said, feeling embarassed for crying in front of someone, espeically..a girl. he was blushing a bit. He turned his head towards Sae after he stopped blushing. "The house seems..a bit quiet?" said Junbae,trying to change the topic. "Where is everyone? i remember that Misaki was missing when i passed out..is she alright?.." he said now serioud and concerned.

Ichiro loved sitting her and enjoying the morning air, it was quite breezy but, he didn't let that bother him. He was suddenly drifting off to sleep, he never actually slept outside before but, the weather was quite nice and gentle so he could help it. As long as it didn't rain he didn't care what outside was like, he actually felt pretty safe than he did when he first came here. He was frightened at first but, he suddenly felt right at home.

"Oh, there you are. Sae asked me to find you," Almost jumping up and hitting at the air, he stayed where he was at and looked up at the quiet girl Avaline.

"Ah, hello Avaline. You scared me." Taking a deep breath, he smiled a little,"Do you know where Misaki and Kano went?" Ichiro thought about the question that was asked,"Um, yeah. Misaki said that she had some 'business' to take care of and Kano went with her. At least I think he did." Nodding he continued,"Yeah but, where.. I have no clue."

Closing his eyes for a minutes or two he opened them back up,"Anyways.. Why did Sae want you to find me? Is Junbae doing okay?" His mouth had started to hurt so that was the last time he'd be talking in the next couple of minutes.

"I'll go find Ichiro, thanks for waking him up,"

Sae heard Avaline say as she smiled back and answered, "Thanks a lot. Honestly, I probably owe you a lot after asking you of so much! Remind me of that, kay? And don't worry! It was no problem since he... well... kind of woke himself up." She laughed a little before waving a little as she left the room to find the other member of her, and their, family.

"Ah..y-yes Ma'am.."

The orange haired girl turned around at the sound of Junbae's voice and grinned a little when she noticed he laid back down, which led her to explaining her reason to asking him to do such an action, "It'd be bad to have you even get up while having a fever. You'll just get even more tired." She said, as if she had knowledge of her own.

"ah...it..was a dream. About when my parent's and sister where alive.."

After hearing those words, Sae's little smile seemed to have faded slightly into a sort of frown. She knew what happened to all six of the people who lived under that roof of the house near the ocean. After the accidents seven years ago, just about all of them lost their family, or, at least, someone very important to them. Talking about it wasn't always the best idea. Sae only thought that what her friend had was a regular nightmare, maybe lightning storms, or being in complete darkness, but what was worst than both of those was remembering little fragments of the past.

"Oh.... I see then. Well, say no more if that's the case." She took a deep breath before replacing her frown with that usual smile, "Instead, let's just chat about something else, right? I was thinking that, well, once everyone came home, we could try going-"

"Sae..im sorry for troubling you like this.."

"Hmm?" Sae asked, getting cut off before she could finish, which she didn't really mind since any family trips could wait until later. For a moment, she had a bit of a confused face, not really understanding what he was trying to say until she finally realized and gave out a genuine laugh, "Oh honestly, you're a funny person. Do you really think that you're causing trouble?" That was all she could say before her laughter took over.

A small moment later, she tousled Junbae's hair and said, "No trouble at all! Well, I can admit you can sometimes be a little bit of a trouble maker," Sae teased, "But don't worry. Besides, you've got to get over that fever of yours quick, or you'll leave us alllllllll alone. And you know, that's not very good, sir! Not very good at all!" She shook her head, hardly understanding what she was now saying since she was always a little odd, honestly.

"Haha..you saw me crying, didn't you? ...sorry, im..very sorry."

"Yeah, I did." Sae said, becoming slightly serious again, "But... you had a good reason, so you don't have to apologize..." She said, seeming to grow quieter by each word, though not on purpose because she got lost in her own thought again, but it was a little darker than usual since she was recalling her family again.

"The house seems..a bit quiet? Where is everyone? i remember that Misaki was missing when i passed out..is she alright?.."

"H-Huh?" Sae lifted her head almost immediately, getting out of her daze, "Oh, yeah. She said she was going... outside for a little bit? Oh, and Kano went with her also. Little Avaline is going to find Little Ichiro, and then there's you and me!" She listed out where everyone was, "Don't worry, Misaki is a tough girl. Plus, she's got Kano with her! What could possibly go wrong?" She shrugged, trying to imagine any situation the two couldn't handle, but found none so her worries quickly vanished.

"The same goes for yours." She said, not realizing she was thinking to herself, "Stress won't help with your recovery, I can guarantee you that. So... calm down, relax, and sleep. Oh, and before I forget, mind if I take your temperature, just to know what we're dealing with? Ah, and there's medicine you're going to have to take... That... probably won't taste very good..." She shivered at the thought of medicine, never really liking the bitter taste it gave off.

Misaki already knew struggling against Kano was useless, even though she was pretty strong Kano was obviously stronger then her. Looking up at Kano Misaki shook her head not saying anything. She was afraid that if she told Kano the others would find out and leave her by herself, feeling disgusted with her and her actions.

"Misaki-chan, please explain to me what you're going to do here. If this place is dangerous then you shouldn't be here either. Did you get yourself into something bad?"

Looking down Misaki was trying to figure a way to face Kano with the situation. "I can't say much right now, I told you already that I'd explain it to you when I get home but right now I have to go I have someone waiting for me and it's best if I don't keep him waiting," Misaki said keeping her head down.

"Don't get me wrong I don't want to do this but I have to, I have no choice, now let me go if I keep Daichi waiting he's gonna get suspicious and send people out here," Misaki said trying to pull herself out of Kano's grip. "Kano let me go."

Avaline thought about Ichiro's question for a second.
"I think Sae just wanted to know if you've seen Misaki and Kano, or to find out if your actually here, I guess," She mumbled. She shrugged.
"Junbae just woke up, I think he's doing better, but he'll need a lot of medicine to lower his fever and get him back up on his feet again. He'll be in bed for awhile," Avaline explained. She gave a small wave and walked back inside. She started up the stairs. She then felt something slip under her feet. She tumbled down the stairs. She landed on the bottom step and picked up what she had slipped on. It was Sae's book that she had been writing in that morning.
"Ow!" She yelped. She got back up and rubbed her back. She put the book back.
"That hurt," She mumbled. Avaline went upstairs to tell Sae about Misaki and Kano.
She opened the door to Junbae's room.
"Ichiro's outside in the backyard. He said he saw Misaki leave, then Kano followed her," Avaline quietly explained.
She looked over at Junbae.
"How are you doing?" She asked.

"I think Sae just wanted to know if you've seen Misaki and Kano, or to find out if your actually here, I guess,"

He nodded, he almost didn't catch what she said but, he did and he smiled. Since his mouth had started hurting he had waited for a little while before he started talking again."Oh, okay." His eyes had started to hurt looking back at Avaline and closed his eyes for a little before opening them again.

"Junbae just woke up, I think he's doing better, but he'll need a lot of medicine to lower his fever and get him back up on his feet again. He'll be in bed for awhile,"

Nodding at the good news,"That's good, as long as he gets better." Nodding again as she waved goodbye, he looked back up at the moving clouds. He couldn't help but, wonder what else was up there than a sky, clouds, and somewhat pollution. Shaking that thought out of his head as he turned on his stomach, hearing a yelp from inside but, he thought nothing of it and turned back around on his back.

"Yeah..i hope they'll be back soon..."

"It may be a little while..." Sae said, trying to remember what Misaki and Kano had to do, though nothing really came into mind as she just said, "Yeah, it may be a little while until they come back, but there should be nothing to worry about!" That's what she hoped.

"..Oh..yeah. I feel my fevers gone down a little, but i guess making sure is a good idea..i wouldn't want to have another crazy episode...and the taste shouldn't be a problem since i kinda have a cold, too."

Sae sighed with relief after hearing that and said, "Well, there's something to be glad about. And of course it is. Better be sure than sorry, isn't that right?" She asked, experiencing it first handed before and regretting bad choices which was why she was so cautious this time. Sae then turned around and got off the chair to get a the thermometer and medicine, which she held carefully since it was open.

"Ah..uh-.. um.....Sae!..Thanks, for..taking care of me!.."

"You don't have to thank me!" Sae grinned, as always, "It'd really suck to have someone missing from our family, especially when they would have a fever... If anyone were to leave you there, they'd be a horrible person. But I'm not saying that I only took care of you to be a good person! W-Well... that is partially it, b-but that's not what I mean!" Sae began to get her words scrambled, only noticing that she was beginning to make it worse, "L-Let me restart that... Ehem.... What I am trying to say it-"

She was cut off as she was pulled in for the hug, nearly spilling the medicine, which she hardly noticed from the embarrassment, as shown when her face grew slightly red. She, like almost everyone, was hugged by many people before; her parents, family, etc. But, well, not every hug was the same in her opinion, and, of course, her reaction to it would obviously be different.

"...Also..thanks for listening..."

"A-ah, Y-Yeah! No problem! M-My pleasure!" She stuttered, not really used to the odd feeling she got. Though, when she was released, she felt a little more calm as she said, "Y...Yeah, your welcome. I'd be happy to listen to anything anyways! So when you need that, feel free to ask, kay?" She asked with a smile.

"Okay, Mommy...take my temperature.."

Sae snapped out of her daze as she quickly nodded and grabbed the thermometer, taking his temperature before looking at the numbers and murmuring without knowing, "38.7 °C......" She let out a small anxious sigh and saying, "This may take a day for you to get over." She frowned while looking at Junbae, "This kinda sucks..." She grumbled.

"Ichiro's outside in the backyard. He said he saw Misaki leave, then Kano followed her,"

She heard Avaline say as she smiled and said, "Thanks! Really, I owe you a lot, so if you need help ask me, kay? I need to repay my debt to you! And that lazy little boy isn't going to come up to visit his friend who has a fever? Really?" She asked, twitching a little as she said, "I'll be right back..."

With those words, she walked outside and closed the door quietly and gently, but once it shut, she yelled, "Ichiro! Get up here! You can't just leave your friend in his room who's sick while you lay around in peace! At least ask how he's doing! And if you don't come up in three minutes then Mommy's going to come down stairs and get you herself!"
