"A painless lesson is one without any meaning. One who does not sacrifice anything cannot achieve anything." ~Edward Elrich

a character in “Carnes High: Monster School”, as played by Aurelier

Description

Arabella is only five feet tall and appears to be younger than her actual age of sixteen. She has long, diry blonde hair with shaggy layers and side bangs that are always falling in her eyes. Her eyes a bright purple color that are so vivid that it makes her stand out in a crowd of humans. When she was younger and still thought she was human, she was segregated from the other children because of her eye color.

Personality

Arabella is always trying to help even if the people don't particularly want it. She will defend the humans (Jaimie especially) against anything that could possibly harm them and in a monster school it seems to be a lot. Her past haunts her occasionally, but she can push it to the back of her mind just by talking to her friends.

Equipment

Arabella wears a tight, purple tank top and ripped skinny jeans. The tank top matches her overly used converse shoes and her eyes. She also keeps a black and white, checkered messenger bag with her at all times. It contains: A spell book, a purple pen and a notebook to write her songs in. She also has her powers, even if she is inexperienced. Her powers are mostly defensive and usually appear in the form of a bright, purple light. She often messes up the spells by mispronouncing the various syllables from her spellbook.

History

Orphaned at a young age, Arabella never knew her parents. She was adopted by a washed up rockstar who was often drinking and partying and had no time for a daughter. He lost his temper often and Arabella was usually too close, but she didn't realize his blows were stronger than a normal person and later finds out that he, Chad, is a vampire. She ran away when she was younger and never knew that she was a witch. She lived on the streets, stealing to survive. There, she learned how to pick locks and steal things as a human. If she had known magic she would have been one of the best. She learned a few tricks from her friend James, a teen trying to make it in the music industry. Him and his band owned an apartment where Arabella tried to live, but found it difficult. One day she stumbled upon the school and the secretary immediately realized her potential. When Arabella went into the dungeons she met the spirits of her ancestors and they taught her about her history and the Luminescant coven. They mentioned something about a twin, but she assumed that they were killed by the Bloodoak coven, too. Arabella and Anabella fought and the use of magic against each other caused an explosion only affecting the twins. Anabella grew dark hair and green eyes since that day, but Arabella seemed fairer than usual. After that incident, Arabella could do offensive magic.

Arabella backed up a step as Adelle got really angry with her. She thought she had been nice to the necromancer, attempting to stay on her good side, but that seemed to be a bust. She glanced around as a few spots in the ground started to shake. What was going on? And Adelle was saying something about being a human lover? What did that have to do with anything?

Arabella was really confused, but then an arrow narrowly missed her head. Her eyes widened to give her a very deer-in-the-headlights kind of look. She looked at Adelle who was walking away, but not before warning her of not using magic. So people were just going to shoot at her and she couldn't defend herself?! But Adelle was right, there were quite a few humans around.

The witch looked at the group of humans coming after her, but they all held weapons. Of course they did since they were hunters. They were probably trained, too! She glanced down at her shoes, thankful for not wearing flip flops and instead her converse. She took one last look at the hunters and began running. She was able to enchant her feet slightly without giving off a glow so that she was pretty fast. But, the humans were still faster.

One particularly large one caught up to her and tackled her. She hit the cement hard enough to knock the wind out of her, but she was close to the curb. Squiriming to her left, she dropped a few inches from the curb of the sidewalk to the asphault of the street. It was just enough of a drop for her to squeeze out from under him. She knew that she didn't stand much of a chance now, but she tried to make her way towards an alley where she could use some magic. Up above she noticed a creature with wings swooping down. What was Adelle thinking?! She had known the girl was a little strange, but now she was completely off her rocker!

Arabella wasn't expecting the arm to come around the corner and start choking her so she wasn't able to get a quick breath before being held up against the wall. She struggled, but it was no use. She looked up at the man and those that followed him. Hunters? Why were they after her? She didn't remember the specific details of the hunters she had killed on her first day, she had been busy trying to help a certain human student. She began to think of Jaimie, wondering if he was okay, but it reminded her of the necklace.

She focused her energy onto the necklace, allowing it to freeze automatically. It would leave anything touching it with a terrible frost bite and it was just enough of a burn to get the human off of her. The necklace shattered from the drastic change of temperature, but she wasn't concerned with that. It could be fixed.

"Baine grab the pieces," she ordered, leading the men deeper into the alley. The second the last hunter was in, she used one hand to add bricks as a fourth wall in the alley so they were completelly entrapped. No human could see her using magic.

"What do you want?" she asked, lifting up a large dumpster without lifting a finger. She kept most of her attention on the burly man, but didn't let the others out of her site.

Arabella flinched as Mian called her name. He was the last person she expected to find in the city, but she wasn't about to complain. "Mian!" she shouted gratefully as he took out one hunter. There were hardly any humans nearby, making magic easily accesible.

She froze the ground beneath three of the hunters as she continued to run. She was looking back over her shoulder to time her next move perfectly. As the trio began to fall, she let shards of ice shoot vertically towarads the sky, impaling the zombies. She had to time it so that their own body weight would be going fast enough to push through onto the ice. Too soon and they could use it to balance themselves, too slow and the ice would have just glanced off.

James growled at the human, but he was right. Part of him was even disappearing in a white light to be on its way to go help her. "But don't think that this will get you out of anything." He reached forward and grabbed a hold of Jaimie's shirt with one hand. The two disappeared in a flash of blinding white light that burned and stank of rotting flesh. Not at all like Arabella's usually pleasant transporting techniques. The second that Jame's feet touched the ground he threw Jaimie forward, hoping to send him through a nearby wall. Looking over at Arabella, he noticed some other guy helping her. Who the hell was he? But first things first, his zombie mind was clouding out his own thoughts with the want for revenge on Jaimie. He was responsible for his death and he would make him pay.

Arabella nodded at Jaimie. He was right. Aiden would never leave Amber unprotected and he would be able to take care of her in this situation. In her eyes, Kalen and Desmond were practically invincible so they would be okay, too. "I would be absolutely devastated if something happened to Shad!" she kidded with him.

She then turned sad and sighed. "I'm glad I got to you when I did," she said, thinking about what would have happened had she only been a few seconds later. And it would have been her fault, but then she laughed.

"Can't we have one moment where you aren't being threatened by monsters? Just one?" she asked. "You're going to Desmond's wedding right?" She had planned on seeing Jaimie there and had been looking forward to it.

"Well leave fighting dangerous monsters to the pros. Like me!" she kidded. She looked at the dagger, touching it lightly. "I'm not sure how well it'd work against a necromancer. I didn't know they even existed when I made it and I still don't know their weakness. I think a sharp blade should be good enough, though." She then looked down at his pajama bottoms again.

"Do you want me to take you home so that you can get a change of clothes?" she asked, smiling. She wanted to continue to spend more time with him since she hadn't seen him in what felt like an eternity. She held out her hand to him so that they could transport back to his house.

Sean was a bit downed by the fact that the fight was cancelled just as it was starting to get good. Sean looked at the strippers' faces. He shrugged apologetically.

"Sarry Stah," he said to Star. "Guess I couldn't finish defending yah honah, but if you ever get tired of Mr. Stick in the Mud, you could always come ovah and take a break me to let some stress out." He then leaned in a little closer "Is that colleen that got in the way of the fight, seein anybody right now?" he said pointing to Arabella.

He checked her out as he positioned himself so he could see all the ladies at once. Sean was thinking that the new girl should get some of those clothes off as well, and tried to figure out which angle he would have to work it to get 'au natural' he flipped a gold coin at Star."For the show, and if you eveh need me just picture this face of mind and rub that coin.
