Description
LYANNA ADAIRE née RILYN-RA’IR"I’ll seek you out,
Flay you alive
One more word and you won’t survive
And I’m not scared of your stolen power
I see right through you any hour"
Nickname/Alias: Lyra
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Marital Status: Married
Occupation: Wedded to the future ruler of the city of Asshai
Height: 5’8”
Body type: Hourglass and svelte – with broad hips meant for child-birth.
Eyes: Blue-grey and oddly warm when one considers her walled-off personality.
Hair: A very dark brown, with just a hint of a reddish color to it – worn in waves that fall down past her waist.
Distinguishing marks: Lyra walks with confidence. She’s got a certain dignity with her whenever she walks into a room. She demands respect, and it’s not hard to tell by the way she carries herself – this is not a woman who would take shit from anyone.
Fashion Sense: Lyra’s gowns are always cut and styled in the latest fashion, her hair fixed just so according to the latest trends. Her favorite colors are a deep blue and green. She is, after all, wife to the man destined to rule in Asshai and has to present herself as such.
Personality
Likes: Her siblings and step-father, sweet tea with lemon, daffodils, singing to Darya, organizing people, taking care of finances, shoulder rubs, braiding hair
Dislikes: Obnoxiously loud noises, when things are not done on time and properly, great displays of affection/emotion, pink flowers, anything too salty, being coddled, the possibility of ending up like her mother
Skills/Talents: Trade and commerce, using and extracting information, managing a household, moderate magical training, her
singing voice.
Weaknesses: Unwillingness to become close to people, her five year old sister Darya, her insane mother, inability to fight – she is physically strong enough to carry a five year old child,
Magic: Shadowbinder – trained as a Red Priestess; her magical abilities are not so strong, but she is capable of wielding them to a moderate extent.
Overall Personality: As her brother would say, she is ‘practical, but cold’. There are very few things that are pleasant about this woman. Though her exterior speaks of a respectable woman, her smile indicates that she has a big heart and her silky words can nestle their way past just about anybody’s hard shell – do not trust her. Lyra is a seasoned player of the nobles, and her talent to extract and use information is quite frightening. There is no such thing as a normal relaxed conversation with her.
At heart Lyra may seem to be a selfish and arrogant woman but she’s only ever so careful with whom to let into her company. She’s only ever had bad experiences dealing with other people – and she hides her insecurities and vulnerabilities by maintaining a reserved front. She does not like being crossed, nor does she enjoy people talking about her behind her back. And if somebody does her wrong, she is quick to retaliate in the most cruel and relentless way to prove her point.
Personality Quirks: When she is angry, she tends to sit down in her rooms and embroider – viciously stabbing the needle in and out to create darling periwinkles on white canvas background.
History
Family: Step-Father – Tallis Rilyn-Ra’ir/ Mother – Leliana Rilyn-Ra’ir (previously Storm, née Greyhardt)/ Brother – Eslandir Rilyn-Ra’ir/ Sister – Darya Rilyn-Ra’ir
History: When Lyra was born, her mother fled from Westeros to Asshai and there became the wife of a rich merchant. When Lyra was one, her first half-sibling – Eskandir – was born. The children were raised mostly by their step-father and were taught the arts of trading and commerce. Lyra had a very good relationship with her family – even with her schizophrenic mother. Five years ago, Darya, her second step-sibling was born and the girl was raised mostly by Lyra and Esk, as their father was more preoccupied with their unstable mother.
Lyra grew up studying at the Temple of R’hllor under the Red Priestesses – training to be a shadowbinder.
Only a few months ago Lyra was wedded to the son of the Lord of Asshai and effectively gained higher status for her family through the marriage – tying together her step-father’s Merchant’s Guild with Asshai’s ‘royal’ family (effectively monopolizing the city’s wealth within one group of people).
