Becoming a centaur was the best thing to happen to him, but he hates it.
Imrie likes order. He is devoted to the code of chivalry and is aghast at any act of dishonor. He is highly superstitious and he believes any act of sorcery to be work of the devil. He loves all women, except those that practice sorcery. He can be rigid in his prejudices and his ideals.
Sword (named Alcander) and shield. He also has a dagger and a hunting knife. There are other supplies and some food provisions squirreled away in his saddle bags. He has a trusted pet hawk, Elwin.
Imrie earned his knighthood through a long, arduous process. He was always told that he was too small and weak to be a knight. He was often criticized for having legs that were too short and sluggish. He was the illegitimate son of a famous knight, Sir Almarine and his father's mistress. Almarine was good enough to acknowledge his son and accepted him as a squire. Luckily, none of Almarine's legitimate sons had the interest to become knights. Imrie was trained by his father. Still, he was rejected when he asked to serve the King and his royal court. At the time of the curse, Imrie had lost his charger in a tourney. He was riding an old steed home. There was a great flash of light and a minute of intense agonizing pain. After that, he found himself joined with the old horse. Imrie's dedication to chivalry won out over the mellow-tempered horse. He returned to court and was accepted this time because he was one who still acted human. He longs to create more organization in the Order of the Hoof and persuade members of the Herd to join them.
