- Full Name: Jun Tan
- Nickname(s): Juna
- Age: 22
- Gender: Female
- Role: Non-bender with Equalist connections
- Occupation: University Student, post-grad. Part-time delivery girl.
APPEARANCE
- Hair and Eyes: Jun has black hair and large, dark green eyes. She wears her hair short, in a boyish hair-cut. Despite her large eyes, it's difficult to get too much expression from her. Most of the time they are half-lidded and take on a look of boredom, but closer examination can identify it as otherwise. Her seemingly apathetic look transfers negatively to the public, and she has been criticized as a cold, uncaring person.
- Complexion: Jun's complexion is relatively pale, though as of late, it has taken on a bit darker shade due to her outdoor job. She doesn't have any scars, but does have an intricate tattoo of a dancing crane over her left shoulder blade.
– Height and Weight: 5'7", 115 lbs.
- Body Type: Jun is quite thin and angular, with a slight chest and long legs, arms and fingers. From afar, her lithe body combined with her short hair gives her the appearance of a male. In fact, even in close encounters, many have mistaken her for a male. However, this may also be due to the fact that she dresses androgynously, always preferring pants to skirts and, if forced to settle, will choose leggings.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
- Likes: Jun likes reading and riding her motorcycle. She enjoys hot foods, particularly noodles, and going to museums. She also holds a particular penchant for plants, preferring to talk to them rather than people, and is in fact studying botany in college (though officially she studies history).
- Dislikes: Her greatest dislike, perhaps besides engaging in conversations with ignorant people, is her parentage. Both of her parents are extreme Equalists, and run off flyers, pamphlets, newspapers and other propaganda furthering the Equalist message. Because of her parents, most non-Equalists, both benders and non=benders alike, dislike Jun, associating her with her loud, obnoxious, publicized mother and father. This has put a strain on their relationship, and when Jun moved out for college, she also cut off communication with her parents. She doesn't like bias, and tries to be as unbiased as she can be.
- Quote: "What are these categories? What does it matter if I am an Equalist or not? If you break it down, it's really just Benders and Non-Benders. Break it down further, and it's just people. People trying to live their lives. Trying to be happy. Happiness is the goal after all, isn't it?"
- Theme song: "Goodbye Apathy" by OneRepublic (especially poignant after she falls in love)
- Potential Interest: TBA
- Other: Because Jun has Equalist parents, she does have a couple Equalist weapons, namely the electric rods, and has been trained in dueling with blunt weapons at a young age. She carries one on her at all times, along with a metal rod the same length. If cornered into a fight, she will use the latter first. If the threat seems very great and she stands a chance at serious injury, she will resort to the electric one. If all else fails, she will resort to the one chi-blocking move she knows, which (so far) has a 100% success rate at stopping her opponent cold. She tends to wear goggles and a hat outside in public to hide her appearance, and has numerous plants in her apartment that she tends to after her studies.
- Personality: Jun has always been a rather serious girl. Calm and quiet, she preferred a good book to romping around with friends. Always a seeker of truth, she hated any twisting of it. Although she enjoyed history, she quickly realized how the facts could be manipulated to serve anyone, and her enthusiasm for it fell. Although she doesn't talk much, when she does, she is very frank with what she says. Blunt, but not tactless, she isn't one to insult without any reason too, and will prefer to keep her mouth shut if anything. Sensible for the most part, she does have a carefully guarded "looser" side. A hopeless romantic, although she will never admit to it, occasionally she will fall into bouts of daydreams (she is, after all, still a girl) and, if she's feeling really up to it, will dress in a skirt with leggings. The double standard for the sexes has caused her to choose her androgynous look, but she isn't a lesbian. Since her parents are so popular, she is often caught in the publicity cross-fire. The public view of her, as stated before, is cold and apathetic, and the many interviews shoved into her face result in lackluster results. She values manners and is never rude, and if she can't ignore someone, will try to be as civil as she can.
