PERSONALITY:
Sardonic and sarcastic, Manya treats most situations with a flippant front, treating jobs as something of a game. Having grown numb to her debt, she has taken up to referring to it as a "high score," that she is trying to top. Despite her seeming reckless enthusiasm to "cut" something, she has some technical knowledge and is rather intelligent, stemming from her prior work as a technician, which just so happened to involve extensive use of cutters.
She shows herself to be something of a social outsider, likely stemming, in part, from her experiences near the end of the war. Her manner of speech was something common between her and her fellow technicians at the hanger during the war in order to maintain morale, which involved a considerable amount of "geek culture." Today it seems to be a coping device.
To Note: Her mocking tends not to be done with the intention of being spiteful.
HISTORY:
Odessian, born and raised into a lower class household, with a patriotic father and an older brother who served as a pilot. She had a brief worry free childhood until she was enlisted as soon as she was of age due to continued pressures of the war, and her father who bemoaned his inability to serve the country he loved. Initially she was trained to be a pilot, and looked qualified, but due to concerns of distracting, and being distracted by her older brother, was instead settled on being trained into being a technician. She, however, eventually wormed her way into being assigned to her brother's hanger. Here, she would eventually mingle with the techs there. Together they would try to get a salvaged and stripped down utility mech back into working condition, they affectionately dubbed "Old Scratch."
As the war dragged on, her hanger would come under assault by an array of artillery fire, an Avalon skirmish that would result in the death of her brother, most of her fellow staff, and leaving her in a crippled state, only compounded by what followed. In a fit of hysteria, she somehow crawled into the only functional mech, Old Scratch, and caught the remaining few enemies off guard, armed with only a scrapper saw and the mech's powerful claws. Damaged and depleted from the assault, they would find that even an utility mech could be lethal.
Days later, her mech would be found collapsed some miles away, her hanging from the cockpit, both arms mangled beyond recovery, having to be amputated. She would spend the remaining years of the war undergoing extensive therapy, both physical, and psychological. For the first few of those years in treatment, she had become a psychological cocoon, disconnected from everything around her, unwilling to come to terms with her brother's death, and suffering from phantom pains. With the end of the war, she had lost everything that gave meaning.
This was not the end, however, for a trade that would place her in debt as the pilot of "Old Scratch," she would be given functioning arms once again in the form of advanced prosthetic limbs. Uncaring for the debt it entailed, she would rather be working, than spending her remaining days in bed, haunted by memories.
ESTIMATED DEBT TO BE AROUND EIGHT BILLION

[DETAILS ARE MAYBE WIP]
A heavily modified utility mech, it was never intended as a combat mech, but rather the scavenger, or "medic," that would be used to carry out damaged machines. After a skirmish with a hanger, it was proven that even a machine as this can be turned into a savage weapon as was seen when this beast came charging out, cutting away at armor and armaments with a saw and claws. Old scratch has only three confirmed kills under Manya, but was said to have been done with surgical precision.
Statistics of the chassis:
Standing at 57ft, or 17.37 meters, and weighing at 28 tonnes, it is outfitted with modified components that were the product of work between the tech crew of Manya's hanger, including herself. Of the augmentations, there was added armoring and shielding, and improvements to its actuators to improve responsiveness and speed. All augments were salvaged and retrofitted as allowed by command during war, including a core taken from an assault mech as pressures rose over the need to keep machines fallen in battle from being salvaged by enemies.
As owed to its nickname, the claws of this mech are designed for prying and ripping into even the toughest alloy in order to get the most out of salvage, augmented is the responsiveness of each finger, linked directly to the motor control of the operator to increase the quality of the "ripped" parts, and ideally would have made on field repairs possible, this application went unfortunately unrealized.
Much of the armoring of the mech is focused around the cockpit and legs, the latter being where a great deal of power is focused with each leg having heavier actuators for the power needed to haul heavy loads, even several times the weight of the chassis.
The overall mech has speed and utility in mind, rather than combat, but has versatile modular systems leaving room for some versatility.
ARMAMENTS:
Modular fusion cutter/welder, designed for being able to be switched out on the field, this versatile tool was used for salvage and temporary repairs alike, capable of cutting through even the toughest metal with seamless precision. It pales in comparison to its bigger combat cousins, but in these days it fulfills its duties faithfully.
