Personality
|Judy believes, whole-heartedly, that she is a salt-of-the-earth working woman of the Dakotas like her parents and numerous relatives. She goes to church on Sundays. Oh she's going to college but only to get an associates degree because she'll be married before she's twenty-two and then, well, she'll just be raising her babies after that. On Tuesday's she visits her sister in Corson and every third Friday she knits with a couple of girl's from high school, class of 2013, go Woodchucks! All of this is well in good but beneath her pale blue cardigan and to-the-neck buttoned blouse, their beats the heart of a women who longs for more, who gazes up at the stars and feels them calling like a host of angels, travel, experience, see! Sometimes she walks by the tattoo parlor on Fairlane and imagines herself walking in and rolling up her sleeve. This might have gotten her into trouble had she not discovered, one hot August afternoon down at the library, Paranormal Romance. Oh what a revelation! The world became all at once less constricting and more tepid than ever, innocence lost to the persuasive and manly charms of vampires, incubi, demons, warlords and, her heart skipped a beat just thinking about it, werewolves.

Lauren is a nostalgic woman who enjoys silver screen movies, record players, and antique treasures. She likes to watch old movies and musicals with the children in the pack when there is a television. She enjoys being in the company of others in general and likes long deep conversations.
Lauren doesn't like rowdy behavior and fighting for no reason other than entertainment. She has a distaste for alcohol (it burns her tongue) and she is ashamed of her habit of smoking. The full moon is not her favorite time because she is forced to transform, which is quite painful and she doesn't like behaving like an animal.

Lauren's obvious weakness is her heart and motherly nature. She is a feeling person with a bleeding heart for people who have lived a hard knock life. She can become very upset when she sees injustice or feels something is unfair; in these situations she has a hard time keeping her mouth shut. She also has a son whom she would do anything for and she constantly worries about, even if he is the big strong beta of Sector 2.
She still has a weakness for cigarettes and sneaks one when she is under a particularly large amount of stress.
Skills
She is very good at needlework, things like crocheting and stitching. She can repair just about any article of clothing with the right thread and needle or can make you a whole new outfit even! It is a useful skill to have where there are little means to get new clothing or blankets. She trades her handcrafted wares and tailoring skills for anything material that she needs.

History
Born Dorcas "Lauren" Silverstein, back in 1905, Los Angeles, California. She was the oldest of four girls in her family and did not lead a very charmed life, working in large textile factories from the time she was a little girl where her little hands were used to reach in the big machines to undo caught strings. However grounded her beginnings though, Dorcas always had her head in the clouds and was hungry for something more in life. Starving for love and attention she didn't get anywhere else, she was the type to fall in love fast with a boy, get her heartbroken, and always come back for more. At age 16 she was kicked out of the house due to her irrational and self-destructive behavior which her parents were afraid would rub off on the other girls.
She went by her middle name Lauren once out of the house and began renting an apartment with a girl named Joan. Joan was a part of what Lauren thought was the bootleg business prevalent in LA at the time, but she was actually a fencer. She got Lauren to come out of her shell and meet new people outside of work at the speakeasies. One night, she introduced her to an "associate" of hers, Dominick Geyer. The two hit it off and began dating. He was secretive but she assumed that was because he was a part of the same racket she thought her friend was in and she didn't mind this.
However, Dominick wasn't just a bad apple or criminal, as it turned out. He was a monster. A literal monster, one of the werewolves Joan fenced for. After standing him up on a date, he became furious and sought his Alpha's permission to turn her into a werewolf. He then turned the unsuspecting girl that evening and brought her back to Sector 1. Her friend Joan helped cover up her disappearance by telling people she had run off with her boyfriend then skipped town never to be heard from again. At first Lauren was a reluctant prisoner but over time she became more acquiescent. Eventually she accepted Dominick as her "mate" as they were called once she was over her feelings of bitterness, and settled down into life in the underground.
