Setting
A soft meow took his attention from the dancing flame as he glanced at the large tabby cat standing on the window ledge. Extending one slender hand, Azriel smiled softly, the smile lighting up the only moments before grim face, "Come." Nimbly the cat jumped from the ledge and landed with a soft plop on the floor and jumped onto the bed to sit next to Azriel.
Gently he stroked the cats head thinking of the events that had transpired just mere hours ago. How desperately he had flown to this little waste of a city looking for the Destroyer... only to find she had left already.
The pulse under his hand quickened as the heart and lungs struggled to get more air, but Azriels hand only tightened on the young man who only moments before had been boasting to his friends about how he had once 'gotten lucky' with the Destroyer. Azriel had the faint impression the little mud monkey was lying to impress his friends, but that did not matter. It had been moderately amusing watching the boy try to stand up to him to further inflate his position in that small little monkey group.
It had been equally amusing to see the look on the boys face when Azriel had grabbed the boy by the throat and lifted him off the ground... his 'friends' fleeing and screaming down the street... "The Destroyer." Azriel said his four great wings tucked tightly to his back, "Where is it?"
The boy struggled kicking his feet, but did manage to gasp "I-I don't know... please don't hurt me."
"What is its name? Where can I find it?" Azriel commanded once more, his grip tightening on the tender flesh underneath, and once more the boy gasped, "Hayashi... Rin Hayashi... please I don't know.."
"Rin... Hayashi." Azriel said softly before his hand tightened once more, and the street was filled with the sickening sound of bone snapping. The boys legs kicked out once... twice... then he went limp as Azriel let him fall to the floor. Finally, he had a name. Rin Hayashi. He felt like he could say it a million times and never would it get old.
The soft sounds of a cat purring filled the room, but still Azriel could not help but want to hear that name once again. "Rin. Hayashi... Finally it is time."
Just as Azriel slipped on the scabbard to his plan, the door shattered as armored men rushed forth, their chainmail clinking with every move. Azriel stood watching them amused, from their repugnant smell he knew all were human.. One of the taller men who smelt of alcohol and dried pine needles stepped forward his hand on the hilt of his blade, "Angel, you are wanted for murder, do not resist, or we will be forced to kill you." Two men stood to his side. Obviously, this man was their leader.
It took Azriel a few minutes to remember just who was it he had killed, and then as if a light popped on in his head, he smiled, "Aw the whelp. Tell me, sergeant." The angel said walking slowly to the window, and from behind him he heard the soldiers draw their blades, apparently he made them feel a little jumpy. "Do you arrest people for stepping on insects?" Azriel said stretching out his wings.
"Is that what he was to you?" The sergeant demanded taking a foot forward, "Just an insect?"
"No." Azriel said placing a hand on the window, "You are the insects." With that, Azriel turned and rushed the sergeant who managed to swing his blade, but Azriel slide under the blade and brought his hand up grasping the sergeant by the throat. His hand started to glow orange as the smell of burning flesh filled the room... and the screams of the sergeant pierced the night.. The other men stood petrified only snapping back to reality when Azriel dropped the charred dead man to the floor. Some stepped forward, while a few edged towards the door obviously intent on running, "Disgusting little insects." Azriel said... and once more screams pierced the night.
"P-please don't kill me." The last city watchman begged as Azriel held his companions corpse, "I-I have a daughter... please." Azriel let the body hit the ground as he turned to examine the survivor, his arm was badly burned... and the inn had started to catch on fire due to the amount of heat that had built up due to Azriels.. specialty. The mans eyes widened with fear as Azriel leaned down once more stretching out his hand to the man, but instead of a orange, red, or blue glow, it was a blinding white...
Azriel stepped over the now healed man, "I suggest you leave this place before it becomes cinders." Azriel said softly, "And be sure to tell your daughter just how much you love her when you go home." Letting his left hand rest on the wood wall, "Farewell, City Watchman." As Azriel walked the wall he touched erupted in flames... This building now held corpses that needed to be disposed of. At least it would keep the watch off his back while he continued his search.. but the night was so very young, and there was an.. interesting smell waiting somewhere in the city.
Setsugie was walking normally until he heard the screams, he looked around and saw smoke from a nearby building he quickly moved to a nearby bench and set Dimitri down, "Tiger, I'll be back in a moment watch him for the time being." Setsugie said at Willow, "Belldandy come with me your expertise will be needed." Setsugie said and ran to the building, before Belldandy dissipated into the blade. Upon getting to the building the people where already evacuating, Setsugie dove inside the smell of burnt flesh was all over the building "People have already perished." Setsugie mumbled. Setsugie helped the people get out of the building safely as best as he could, the smoke was getting intense as he heat and flames that plagued the building. Setsugie was about to leave until he saw him, a man with red hair and four gray wings 'An Angel?' Setsugie thought, "Hey!" he called out to the man, "Come with me to get out of this place!" he added as more flames started to erupt from the building. Though something seamed wrong about the man but Setsugie disregards this feeling for at the time it did not matter.
Stepping out of the smoke and flames, he was greeted by a rather large crowd. So much like insects, attracted by the light of the fire buzzing around getting in each others way, it was almost pitiable, almost. In the open, Azriel let his four gray wings snap open and flap once or twice, stretching them now that they were free from the tight confines of the hallway. Unfortunately, the four wings kicked up quite a bit of air, the flames on the inn erupted fueled by the massive air wave, and engulfing most of the inn, and stripes of fire came out to lick the nearby buildings. Of course, he could reabsorb the flames as they were his flames, but in his weakened condition consuming so many flames would be... straining, and there was no reason to strain himself over this mud monkey city. Also, there was undoubtedly a few people with the foolish hero mentality who would attempt to fight him assuming, and rightly so, that it was he who lit the inn on fire.
"My apologies." Azriel said simply to the nearby people. He did not mean it, but it would make them feel at ease... well, as at ease as they could be when they saw their city starting to take up in flames. Of course, they would most likely get it under control sooner or later, but more then a few buildings and homes would go up in flames. He paused to attempt to look around the crowd, and saw little of interest...
Few people whispering amongst themselves, others staring and pointing at the fire, their mouths hanging open like simpletons. Some men carrying buckets of water, a foolish gesture. Instead of trying to put out the flames in the inn, they should wet the nearby buildings and simply cut their losses at just the inn.
Then there was them. A vampire, a demonic being, and a... well, now that was interesting. He dismissed both the vampire and demonic being as unimportant as their kind normally was, however, the human felt different. Much like the man from before.. containing an aura and power far beyond their normal mortal limitations. Azriel decided he would have to watch this woman... from a distance until he learned more.. the man was a man thus unimportant. Slowly, he pushed his way through the crowd until he entered ear shot then made a point to 'calm' a nearby woman down in order to make it look like he was indeed not paying attention to what it is those three were doing.
Zero slightly chuckled, "I'm quite capable." he said while he thought "I think he's suspicious of me, getting reported to the Chikyuu no Mirai would be a pain should I kill him know?.' then smelled the smoke and looked over at the direction in which it came. "A fire?" Zero mumbled. "Well do you where I can find Chikyuu no Mirai base? Or do I need to ask someone else?" Zero said getting slightly impatient.
Before he could continue power flared... Turning his head slowly to find the source... his suspicion was confirmed. Something was odd about this girl, and not just the way she was struggling. Once more he pushed through the crowd and made his way to the strange girl.. and once there, he held up his hand to the vampire and demonic being, "I mean no harm." He said simply so that they would not get overeager and try to stop him. Examining the girl, he noticed her eyes were unresponsive, but still she was yelling and struggling as if lost in some other memory.
"I know of two ways to fix this." Azriel said easily, "You can hit her thus using pain to awaken her, or it could knock her out thus resetting her mind..." He said listing off the first method, "Or I could attempt to awaken her without the need for violence." That and striking a woman was never a good way to make a good first impression, "I could introduce my own power into her system which would destabilize her power." He said, and then he realized they might not know what that would mean, "It would feel much like when you miss a step on a stairs... that sudden lurch in your stomach, only a little more intense. It is harmless, of course, but it could shock her awake. Should it fail, you could always go back to method one."
Zero smirked "Alright." Zero said and turned away from the man and disappeared, "Pocket dimensions are so useful." he mumbled appearing on top of a building close to the burning one so he could watch the others. Zero sat looking the Chikyuu no Mirai members, "I see." he says as he kept watching them.
The Destroyer was a being of power and so this tactic should work even more, however, there was now a catch. Give too little power, and nothing would happen, but if he gave too much... She could instinctively discharge all her power in one great explosion destroying not only the city and the nearby lands, but perhaps ever herself. He could not allow her to die here, she was far too precious for that... still, a normal human carried the burden of Destroyer? It was... pitiable, and for once, he felt bad for a human. She was a mere child... a cursed child. She meant everything to him, yet she did not even know his name.. "It will be ok." Azriel said, not only to Rin, who would most likely not hear him, but to the others to prevent panic. Once more he stretched out his hand, but instead of a white light, it was a warm golden light one filled with Azriels hope...
Placing his hand on the center of her chest, above her heart, he began to channel his own power into the girl. The golden light entered Rins body and spread to her limbs, and with every moment that passed, Azriel felt his power waning. Even in daylight, he was merely at one/tenth of his original power... even when he forced himself to reattain his Archangel form he was merely half the strength of his past self... but at night, he was barely a shell. "Awaken. Rin Hayashi."
"Charming fellow." Azriel said, before glancing at the human who had simply stood as Rin was having her... episode. "Is he always that charming? Or did I catch him on a nice day?" Azriel said with a bemused smile. Of course, the smile was merely to continue a conversation for the sake of gaining more knowledge, but when you had lived as many lifetimes as Azriel, you no longer knew when you were acting... or when it was truly you.
His eyes slid to the one who held Rin, the cuts were not life threatening, but he doubted they were comfortable, she was a demonic being, but she had aided the Destroyer in her own way. She could be a source of information, "I am sorry." Azriel said to her, "That I cannot heal you, but I am afraid, my healing abilities do not work on people with your... unique traits." He said attempting to be polite, before lowering his head a fraction of an inch. Normally, someone would bow before introducing themselves, but information or not, he would not bow to insects, "I am..." He said pausing to gather his thoughts, "Xavier."
Setsugie sighed heavily, most of the building was already put out "My job here is down, watch out he building could collapse at any time." Sesugie said to the towns people who where helping him with the burning building, "Yes and thank you for you help." one of them said Setsugie then nodded and walked back. Walking to Len and Rin seeing as Dimitri was there with them and at the time being he was Setsugie's responsibility "Where did the Tiger go?" he asked them.
Zero looked as the white ape climbed up and looked at him, Zero smirked looking at the primate 'So I assume she can transform into any animal.' he thought. "I must say your quite persistent, are you that eager to die." Zero said standing up on the edge of the building, and waited having his guard up for anything she throws at him.
Azriel tilted his head in her direction, a motion of acknowledgement, "Then I shall keep that secret." Well, he had no reason to spread it as it really did not matter to him. He did not like demonic beings, but he did not go out of his way for them. They were not worth his time. "Misfortune, perhaps you should try something a bit lighter. Might sit well better." He said with a tilted head, "Although, I have noticed that you humans seem to enjoy dwelling in misery, what was the phrase?" He said pondering it, "Aw yes, Misery loves company... strange that you all find solace in each others sorrow." Of course, he had said this all for a point. He had a made a point to refer to her as a human implying that, supposedly, he did not see her as a destruction bent demon...
"Nice to meet you as well, Florence." Azriel said, before turning to the human who asked him a rather pointless question. How did the fire start? Well, he started it, but it mattered little to him. Why a human would want to know a fact that did not concern himself escaped Azriel, "Apparently that inn caught on fire." Azriel said plainly, "Perhaps someone lit the fire on purpose, perhaps a child dropped a candle... in the end, I do not have the faintest clue, nor do I see why it matters." He said, and held up his hand to stop the most likely retort by the human, "And I do not wish to know why it matters to you or why it should matter to me. I am sure you have your reasons, and I am sure they are good reasons."
The light tap on his forearm pulled his attention back to Florence and away from his thoughts. Ah yes, he was talking to her before wasn't he? He listened as she spoke and had to admit, for a demonic being, she was entertaining. He had met many of them believing themselves to be great and evil beings who had to destroy others due to their past or some other means, but she was a little different yet was willing to admit to her own nature... Wasn't that just... interesting. "It is easier to cry then to smile." Azriel said in agreement to her comment on human nature... well, that statement was true for all the races even angels.
Azriel lifted his had to ask what base, but she was already trotting off. Well, he supposed he was getting closer and closer... still, it would help if they would at least introduce what group they were from. Alone to ponder his own thoughts, he was able to feel that great presence... even if it was greatly diminished. Was she not able to process the power he gave her? Was she that untrained? He had learned how to channel and control his immense power as a child... but he doubted there was any on this mortal plane that was used to channeling, controlling, and monitoring the raw amount of power she had. Even Azriel was not sure if his methods he had been taught would help her. Perhaps she would learn it herself... She would need to learn how to channel his power if he was going to complete his goals, but that could wait another day, for now, he could afford patience.
A womans sobs and screams caught his attention, so he slowly approached the fight scene, although he had no intention of joining it himself. A young woman had been.. pinned under a large piece of rubble, it was crushing her stomach into the ground... a rather slow and painful way to die, but she would die. With surprising strength, she reached out and grabbed Azriel's leg squeezing, "Please help me.." She cried, and Azriel stared back at the dying woman, "Very well." He said drawing his blade and stabbing the woman through her chest, piercing her heart and killing her. He might have been able to save her if he was able to move the ruble then give the last of his energy to heal her, but he did not wish to waste his energy, but he still shown mercy. He had give her the mercy of a swift death. Now that the woman was gone, he rubbed the blade against the woman's shirt, smearing off the blood before sheathing the blade once more. At least now, he could resume watching the fight between the demon boy and the over-grown monkey.
Setsugie then lit the cigaret with a lighter and placed it on his mouth then let out a small puff of smoke, as raindrops began to fall.
((OOC: Short post is short...
Setsugie finished his cigarette puffing a small cloud of smoke he threw the rest into a trash can and headed out, directing himself to the base knowing that the feline would follow.

Dimitri gasped as he managed one final effort to move and this time, his body responded. He lifted his arm. Blinking, he got out of the bed to the infirmary he was spying in yesterday. He looked back to where he had so much trouble moving before. Now what the hell was that? He shook his head to himself as he moved around the room for a little bit, stretching out his muscles, then taking a seat on the bed, burying his head in his hands. He was still a little bit tired, but not nearly as much as before. He cursed Zero and begged for the day when he would get his revenge. And Lance...oh Lance was still number 1 on his hit list. But Zero made a close second. He looked around the room. Willow wasn't there. I figured so, he thought, she hates me. He closed his eyes and sent a mind message to Willow. "Willow, where are you?"
