Hair
Ava's hair is long and naturally curly. She doesn't have a usual hairstyle, she tries to do something different with it everyday. She sometimes straightens it but since that can take up to two hours she rarely does it. If she is dancing she puts it up in a ponytail unless the routine calls for it to be down. She considered cutting it once but her mother nearly took her head off for even thinking about it.

Eyes
Her eyes are hazel, some say more green than anything else while others say more yellow or brown. She likes to think it changes based on her mood.

Scars/Tattoos
Ava has a couple of tattoos: one on her forearm, one just behind her ear, and one on her shoulder blade. As a dancer she usually has to cover them with makeup on auditions or something.

Skills
  • Stamina - As a dancer there isn't a time for breaks during a routine. She has gotten used to working long hours over the years.
  • Problem Solving - Ava wasn't much interested in academics but she naturally excelled in it. So much so that her parents nearly made her quite dancing to focus on her more 'practical talents'. Given time Ava can pretty much solve any puzzle given to her, it's just a gift she had but doesn't use much unless it's helpful somehow in dance.
  • Character - Ava has always been a good judge of character. She knows who she can/should trust and who she can't/shouldn't. Of course some of the time she can get it wrong but she usually isn't.
Weaknesses
  • Ankle - She broke her ankle a few years back and the only way the could properly fix it was to place screws on either side of her ankle. She can move it but not in a way a dancer would need to.
  • Unpredictable - Some of the time she says and does things without thinking it through. Sometimes it's something small like hurting someones feelings other times it's shattering your ankle.
  • Diabetes - Being as active as she is she often forgets to eat which affects her blood sugar.
Quirks
  • Daydreaming - If you catch her staring of into space she is dreaming up a dance routine in her head.
  • Flirt - She flirts for fun, some guys get their feelings hurt but she can't help it.
  • Candles - She has a thing for candles. she doesn't know why but she loves them and will have more than she should in her room. FOr her it's like most women are with shoes.
Likes
  • Dance - She has been dancing since she was 6 years old. At first it was just a hobby then it became something more.
  • Planning - She loves planning things;Parties, weddings, etc. It brings out her assertiveness to get things done.
  • Candy - Not only can it save her life, it is the best thing ever created in her opinion.

  • Her parents - No, not in that way. She hates her parents idea of a 'real job'. She believes that if it makes you happy then you should be doing it.
  • Her ankle - After the injury she wasn't able to dance until recently but she still isn't able to dance the way she used to.
  • Laziness - She refuses to be the only one in a group who is doing any work. If one person isn't helping she will call them out.

She was in an abusive relationship all through high school. She'd tried to break it off but he wasn't having it.

After meeting her she can come off as egotistical, stubborn, and selfish. However it couldn't be further from the truth. She is a very caring and passionate person. She can make friends with just about anyone she meets. Her confidence in her ability to do anything is what gives off that impression. She doesn't wait for things to get done, she is impatient with certain things and doesn't want to waste time waiting around. She isn't afraid to say whats on her mind, she doesn't like to hurt peoples feelings but once an opinion comes to her head she has to say it. She also isn't afraid to go for what she thinks she deserves which can rub people the wrong way but she doesn't really care. She seems to be all put together but everyone has their problems. She exudes confidence on the outside but on the inside she is insecure about a lot of things she just hides it really well. She has a hard time opening up about a lot of things and keeps people at arms length.

She cares about people and can't help but defend someone who is being hurt. It hurts her when she hurts someone's feelings but she has made a habit of saying and doing things without thinking. She is a perfectionist, if it isn't right it isn't finished. She often stretches herself too thin between things and can't keep up with her own life. She has a hard time relaxing and just having fun, she takes her life so seriously.

H I S T O R Y

Ava Willson was born 22 years ago in Cherry Blossom to a newly happily married couple. Most people didn't think her parents would last and those people would be right. She had a pretty normal life, she made friends really easily and didn't have much trouble in school. From an early age her teachers and parents could see how smart she was but as intelligent as she was she didn't care much for academics. When she discovered ballet for the first time on a school trip to see The Nutcracker she fell in love. It was all she could talk about, she begged her parents to put her in classes and it only took the a few months of nagging for them to do it. They weren't surprised that she excelled in it and they also didn't want her to rely on it either. Over the years she has won competitions and had moved on from ballet to other types of styles.

A few months before her 7th birthday her little sister Elizabeth was born. She loved her sister and would often play with her as if she was a doll, or so her parents tell them. They're relationship was so pure and sweet. It wasn't until their parents had broken up that they grew apart. When Ava was 12 she caught her father cheating on her mom. She didn't know if she should tell her mom or not. She knew what her dad did was wrong but at the same time she didn't want to be the one to ruin what they had. Eventually she couldn't take keeping it secret and told her mom a month later. Ava kept the reason for the divorce from her sister and so did her parents. Ava and Elizabeth stayed in Cherry Blossom with their mother. She hated her dad for a long time after and refused to speak to him for almost a year until her mom forced her to spend the summer in New Jersey with him and her sister. Her sister grew up never knowing why Ava hated their dad and hated the fact that she wouldn't tell her. She and her sister spent almost every summer after that in New Jersey and the school year in Cherry Blossom with their mom.

When Ava started high school she joined the drill team and soon became captain. In her freshman year she met a guy, he was a freshman as well. He started out sweet but after about six months things started to change. The abuse started out with name calling and small shoved then turned into assaults when she didn't do what she was told or if she wore something he didn't like. He was extremely jealous and would get angry when he thought she was looking at another guy. In her junior year she tried to break it off but he wouldn't let her, she was afraid he would do worse that he already was. She didn't tell her parents and hid the bruises and scars with makeup. The only one who knew was her sister who found out one morning after seeing the bruises before she got a chance to cover them. Elizabeth threatened to tell someone if she didn't break it off. Luckily Ava didn't have to because he broke up with her a week before his family moved out of town. She still has this fear that he will come back to claim her again.

She still took dance classes and competed until she was 18 when she was injured during a competition. She and her partner were attempting a move never done before, they had done it perfectly in many practices but something went wrong causing her to break her ankle. It had been so badly broken steel plates had to be screwed in in order for it do heal properly enough for her to use again. Without dance she felt empty and went into a deep depression, she wouldn't eat or leave her room even after her ankle was healed. She was sent to counseling by her mom who was worried. She went to this counselor for a year before she stopped after the counselor helped her come to a conclusion, if she couldn't dance she could teach others. She began school and took a job as a waitress in the local diner to pay for the classes.

So begins...
