Forsaken Lands

Once known as "The Border", these are the war-torn lands on the edge of each kingdom. People living there were commonly called "Grays", as it was common for people living very close to forget whether they were citizens of Black or White. Border-crossing was easy-- not hiding any bodies, not transporting anything illegal, good to go-- and life was good. When the war began, a wall was built and the people living on each side were declared citizens of either kingdom. This land has been abandoned as the war tore it apart, and the Grays have migrated to capitals. Now, it is just as easy to cross this land as it used to be, merely because no one cares enough to guard it. Get far enough past it, though....
