As a teenager Nero dedicated himself to his training with zeal. Taking to heart the virtures of paitence, temperance and a chilvarous code of conduct. Part of the training was such that every knight was in charge of their own coin and possessions. Something many of the others could not keep track of well, But Nero was well accustomed to the complexitys of accountance as part of the knights order they would have to pay up keep for the barracks and donate a small fee for the church as charity, a duty he took upon himself and off his comrades shoulders. Stratergy games were often played within the barraks to keep the tactical mind sharp, and every chance Nero had, he would be playing one of these games.

At the age of 16, Nero had passed his training as a knight, and took upon himself the duties of balancing the books of his section within the order, and protecting the city, Bandit raids and rebellions were not uncommon within the neighbouring areas, but the city in which Nero stood would always be gaurded against such turmoil. "Let's settle this with fists."

BOOM! Was that a blast? The paved stone ground began to vibrate. In the distance, you could hear something impacting with the solid ground. There was screaming coming from the city plaza. Men, women and children alike all came running in the opposite direction of the blast. Their faces were fearful and some stumbled as they ran. It was enough to alarm Asrai Xylion. Asrai quickly rose from a stacked pile of concrete. Her brilliant colored hair waved back and forth while a slight breeze rushed by. Her eyes were narrowed in the direction of the explosion. She wore tattered clothing that was stained with patches of faded cloth that stood out from the colorless garment. Her friends that were hanging around the area also glanced in the same direction as she. Each of them concerned with whatever was going on. Suddenly, a little boy came running and shouting Asrai's name. She immediately hopped down from the pile of concrete to meet the child. He was thin and bony, his face gaunt. Visible signs of hunger.

"Milo," she softly spoke. "What's going on?"

The young boy stared at her wide eyed; unable to catch his breath. "In the plaza-" he gasped in between words. "An attack... Men in black..."

Everyone whispered amongst themselves as Asrai absorbed this information. Was it a military attack? Were they raiding homes for taxes? Maybe it was the beginning of a war between kingdoms. Such a war was way overdue. People were still running past all of them, continuously screaming and shouting. However, Asrai and her friends had nowhere to run. After all, they were from the slums. They had no home. Asrai clenched her fists and turned to the others. Even though they were all afraid, Asrai appeared to be fearless. She stood out from the crowd now more than ever.

"Everyone! We must-" she was suddenly interrupted by another explosion. Except this one was only a few yards away from her and the others. For a brief moment, Asrai, many people, items and rubble included were flung into the air from the explosive force. As Asrai regained her focus, she turned to see a few of her friends laying on the ground. Limbs blown off and heads decapitated. But to Asrai's horror was a creature standing before them, holding one of her companions by the hair a few feet above the ground. Her friend squirmed and cried, shouting her name for help. Asrai stared in bewilderment. This creature it... it was not human! It had an awful appearance. Two horns extruded from it's scalp with red beady eyes that contained no pupils. They glowed even in the daylight and it was as though smoke escaped it's nostrils. The creature had a snout and sharp, carnivorous teeth. It's arms were wide with muscle and for hands it had claws. It's legs were like that of a wolf's and it was as though it was grinning directly at her.

People ran past it screeching, trying not to look back, trying not to stop. Asrai felt frozen in place, unable to look away from this foul beast. Behind it were flames and more creatures similar in appearance. There were men too, but it was as though they had no life in them. Their faces were pale, very pale, almost appearing gray. Their eyes were vacant and they walked like zombies towards them while killing anyone in their way. Then, a terrifying woman who held a resemblance of a human but also that of a devil appeared beside the creature that was holding her friend. She had a purple complexion and lots of jewelry hanging around her neck and earlobes accompanied by a pair of wings on her back. The woman yawned as if bored, but then slapped the creature holding her friend. The creature dropped her friend almost instantly, snarling at the woman.

"Exel! How many times do I have to tell you we're not killing any babies today!" the woman spat with distaste.

She then turned back towards Asrai and the others as though she were examining them all. It was then that her demonic eyes locked with Asrai's for a long moment. The woman grinned, exposing a set of sharp, hungry teeth.

"That one, Exel. Get that one," she ordered pointing a long, razor-sharp fingernail in Asrai's direction.

Asrai's heart dropped. Suddenly she felt very fearful, knowing she could not protect the others from this let alone herself. The creature stepped forward walking straight towards her. This thing was at least three times her size. Her friends had already fled the scene, and she did not hesitate to follow. The woman wanted her. Was it her hair that made her stand out? In the past it's done just that. Her heart raced and she thought she would suffocate from the anxiety. She turned then ran, faster than she ever had before. Faster than most folk as she zipped past them in seconds. The creature pursued her. She heard it's lound, clunky steps behind her. This made Asrai start to run even faster. When she turned to see how close the pursuer was, she noticed it was running on all fours after her. Sweat was pouring down her face and the creature suddenly lunged at her. She screamed while tumbling over. It missed! Quickly, she darted off towards the side before the creature could even turn back around towards her. She kept on running, never looking back. Eventually she found a narrow stretch in between two buildings that was shadowed and dark. She squeezed into it glaring around for anyone else coming. Her chest was rapidly rising and collapsing with each heavy breath. In fact, she was somewhat wheezing from the run. She noticed she was near the city plaza where rubble was scattered and children were being gathered by more strange creatures. She noticed these creatures closely resembled demons from pictures she's seen in books or paintings in the past. She was bewildered, terrified and uncertain of her fate. A gloom hung over her as she began to think her death was near.

'There is no such thing as an Accident, Just fate misnamed'

Clink,Clink,Clink. Those sounds rushed pass the bunk Nero slept on, now groggily sitting up he became away of the acrid smell of smoke and the sound of smashing stone in the distance. Glancing at the knights all scrambling to adorn their armours Nero became alert, and he too started to put his armour on as quickly as he could " What is going on" he asked startled by the commotion. " Every knight has been ordered to the main gate... we have been attacked" How could that be Nero thought to himself, no wars were being waged, the watch towers gave no signal, or were they taken out before they could. Surely no force could demolish the towers that quick and still make time to assault the city.

Now fully equipped, Nero and a group of knights went running from the bunk house, the armoured men making their way through the twisting streets. There progress was slowed by fleeing citizens, some of the knights were helping them get to safety but it seemed numbers were drawn towards the gate. Suddenly the crowd of of people seemed to stop and before the group of knights could round the next corners, a scream was sent flying through the air, along with a person. The sounds of war should normal be deafening by now, but it seemed no steel clashed, it was just stone smashing, men screaming agony and some unworldly noises. Stopping dead in their tracks the knights all seemed stunned by the flying body, but soon they were stunned by the creature that rounded the corner. A monstrous creature, truly only describable as a demon. Having no time get a plan formed, Nero jumped out the way as the creature pounced through the crowd of knights. It seemed not to care for the men it trampled on, rather it was heading further into the city.

Standing up slowly Nero watched the creature bound off before he heard something coming from behind him, turning he saw a large armoured man, leading a group of pale faced people, as if the sun had never once touched their skin. Looking back at the other knights he pointed his sword in the direction the creature ran. " Fall back and stop that thing" turning to face the group of men, he gripped his sword firmly and watched as the armoured figure stretched out an arm to stop the pale ones. Now given a chance to truly study the figure it dawned on him that truly a brute, Tall, Broad, covered in black spiked armour, and wielding an axe that looked like it fell a tree in a single hit if swung by this man. " This ones mine" came the gravely voice. Nero acted upon instinct as he rushed forwards and swung his sword for the neck of the figure, the sword was brushed aside with ease with the axe as the figures armoured glove smashed the side of Nero's helmet. It felt as if his head was going to come off from that blow, this figure could not be human. Stumbling to one knee Nero took his helmet off and threw it to one side. Looking towards the figure his mind raced, he couldn't beat it, the creature had run off further into the city, it seemed hopeless, standing up he ran as fast as his armoured form could take him, he had to find the other knights to help take down the creature, then that could take down the armoured figure, but it seemed they would need a miracle.

Stay down! 'Tis my duty to die for you, not to allow you to die so unnecessarily!

Ryu had woken up bright before dawn, being the head knight in the city, he needed to be awake and ready in case of any threats that could arise. He had glanced in at the Child he was protecting, the Child of Destiny. . . He was so young. All of them were. About two years prior, Ryu had been visited by the God of Destiny who explained to him of the coming danger, the God also explained how Ryu's duty was to protect the children at all costs. Ryu vowed that day to give his life guarding them, and ever since then, he had paid special attention to Nero's achievements in life. Seeing as Ryu had progressed to being in a position as his so quickly, he had permission to meander even though he hardly ever did.

Nero had been sleeping when Ryu awoke and so Ryu went outside, and just as he did he heard the warning bells chiming, blaring their terrified call into the city. Ryu had already suited up, he began awakening all the other knights telling them they needed to arise and defend, then he dashed out of the barracks, sword drawn. What he saw however was something from Hell itself. It was a beast, three meters in height, easy. It was laying waste to the city, killing innocents, women and children alike. A few other knights flanked the beast, Ryu charged it yelling a ferocious battle-cry sinking his blade deep into it's shoulder, it recoiled and slapped Ryu across the chest in anger. This sent the knight tumbling head-over-heels into the stonework of the religious temple. A smile of irony played on his lips as he coughed up some blood, wiping it away he stood and saw smaller beasts lighting homes ablaze.

He ordered his knights to focus on the big one while he got as many people to safety as he possibly could. Ryu sprinted down the winding trail, slicing lesser beasts in half as he went. The fires never caught, however dispatching the lesser beasts had occupied him for quite awhile, then he heard cries of horror and final screams coming from the demon's area. He noted once he made it to where the beast was, it was running his way, and it seemed a group of others had joined in the fray.

'Excellent. Why couldn't we have had a normal day.' Ryu thought as he walked up to the fleeing creature. It stopped once Ryu had stood before it. The monster roared a mighty roar, and in return Ryu roared back charging it with his sword preparing to bring it down, to cleave the beast's skull.

"You shall never take this city monster!" Ryu leaped high and brought his blade down onto the beats skull, driving the blade deeper, twisting it around as he did. The force of the blow drove the monster to the ground in a stumbling fashion. Breathing heavily, Ryu withdrew his blade and began walking away. However, he stopped as he saw Nero running, Ryu was delighted the boy was still in one piece. Running over to the boy, he grasped Nero by the shoulders.

"How are you? Are you harmed? I must get you out of the city boy. The beast is only dealt with for now. I fear much worse will come. As such we must away. Come I will make sure we get out." Ryu began to drag the boy down the path at a sprint towards the outer gate. He felt great pains in his ribcage from the blow the beast had dealt him, it was impeding his movement by quite a lot, he also felt a pang of emotional turmoil for abandoning his city. However he swore to guard the boy. If they stayed they would both surely die. As they ran Ryu only thought of Nero and Nero's safety, but once they reached the gate he thought one last thought.

Forgive me. . .

'There is no such thing as an Accident, Just fate misnamed'

It did not take long, even in the confusion of battle and panic for Nero to spot Ryu, or the downed creature, it was a feat that would normally bring morale back to the defenders, but everyone knew that just one creature within an army. It seemed no one had quite come to terms yet with facing demons, despite the pain that tore through their bodies and the horrors that they all bore witness too. " I'm fine... just let my guard drop, my position was not advantageous... if we push up" he cut himself off when he heard that Ryu planned on taking them out the city. Nero did not know what to say as he was being dragged along, it was unexpected, the situation was dire, but was it truly that desperate.

As the pair of them was nearing one of the smaller gates, Nero could not keep silent any more " We can't do this...we swore an oath as knights and we need to" His voice suddenly cut off, his body felt heavy as if his armour weighed him down, he stopped before the gate, unable to move. Closing his eye under the strain, he opened them when he believed he could carry on, but instead of the city under siege and the familiar face of Ryu he was greeted by a firm gaze. Now his vision was dominated by a white landscape, and a tall figure, polished elegant armour. A noble visage, soft white hair, fair skin and a proud expression on his countenance, yet the proud emotion was being placed upon Nero.

" My dear son you fill me with pride, I am Agnar, God of Destiny.. and you are my chosen, my descendant" the voice echoed around what seemed the very existence to Nero. " But let me be brief, in three days time you will meet the other two descendants on top of the sacred mountain under the eclipse. " Looking down sharply Nero was suddenly aware that his body was glowing " You will have my armour, trust in it and yourself and you will see all the paths that those around you walk down" Nero simply couldn't speak, and soon he couldn't hear, all sound was replaced with thunder, with tight shut eyes he weathered the experience and opened them to see the familiar world again, and Ryu. The horrible thunder and feeling was the sound of his old armour being split from his body in a streak of energy. Being replaced by the divine armour of Agnar

"You are right.... the city is not safe for us... and the city is not safe with us in it.... lets go" he said striding past Ryu and out the gate, he needed time to come to grips with the information he had just learned.

Stay down! 'Tis my duty to die for you, not to allow you to die so unnecessarily!

As Ryu had gotten Nero to the gate it seemed as though he wasn't going to leave. This shattered Ryu's sense of duty as Ryu had taken the same oath. He knew how horrid it was that he was fleeing the battlefield. Nero spoke up saying how they were being deserters. Ryu bit his tongue and was about to turn back to face the hoards but Nero was wearing a new suit of armor. There before them was Agnar. Ryu's eyes widened and he immediately knelt, lowering his head and breathing heavily. He was in the presence of a God.

The god recognized Nero as his child, as Ryu had known, however he also had thought maybe the God of war would claim Nero. However true to what he had been told. . . Nero was the child of destiny. Ryu looked up as Agnar was disappearing, then he noticed Nero saying something along the lines of "I agree, let's leave." Ryu stood and nodded before grabbing Nero's arm and running out of the gate.

'I need to get us to the Sacred Mountain. But where even is it. . . ' Ryu thought quickly as they ran. He wondered how far it was from where they were. Would they have to cross the ocean. . .? Or maybe it's on their lands. Maybe Agnar said something to Nero regarding it. Since Ryu had gotten them away to the hill across from the city, breathing heavily, he looked to Nero.

"Do you by any chance know of 'The Sacred Mountain'? Nero?" Ryu asked as they walked farther away from the city that had been their home for years. Ryu's mind as they walked flew to his home village. To Hiyoko. He wondered if he dearest angelic sister thought about him anymore since he stopped writing her. He wondered how big she was now. Ryu supposed she was bigger now. She also had probably been attacked, he then wondered if she was alright. If she had a protector or if she was alone.

He shook his head, worrying about her now wouldn't help his current situation. He needed to focus on getting himself and Nero to safety, to the Mountain.

'There is no such thing as an Accident, Just fate misnamed'

Running again, without a second thought out the gate and a way from the city, no Nero wished he could worry about those he left behind, but his mind was running rampant, he was the child of destiny, but it would be for naught if he could not get to the sacred mountain. Old legends, folktales anything he could remember about the gods was being tugged up from the depths of his mind, along with any local geography he could remember. Nero was not sure he believed Agnars words yet, surely he could not be the child of a divine

As they were finally within the hills away from the city, he heard Ryu speak up. " Unfortunately i can't seem to recall anything on the sacred mountain.... But Agnar said i must be there in three days... even travelling as light as we are, that is still a set distance" As they were walking he let a lull of silence take over again. Two problems seemed a bit more prominent, safety and supplies. Even if only a few days they needed provisions to travel.

" Is there not a small farm or two just the other side of these hills.. i do not see smoke rising so it has not been put to the torch yet, it could provide shelter... or we could carry on.. but you have not been moving right" Nero stopped, levelling his gaze towards Ryu. He was worried about the both of them, but they could not afford to discuss this for too long

" Either way we need to keep moving, and we should be able to see the farms if we crest the hill, if its clear we can take shelter, but if we doubt it, we skirt around..." Nero knew they would not run into the main force, or even any large splinter force, but even a squads worth of men could stop any progress.

“Trash that doesn’t even know it’s trash deserves to fall into the abyss."

Distaste flickered in Serith's beady red irises at Lucien's sarcastic remark. Another scowl had planted itself on his face for a long moment with a dangerous look in his eye. Though shortly after he smiled as though nothing had bothered him at all. The doors then fluttered open and in came Solus, a man of a gentle demeanor and what many would say a trustworthy appearance. In fact, it was his oddly soft and gentle vibes he emitted that made him such a useful ally. Serith continued to smile, as if he was pleased with his two underlings. A rather dangerous and touchy state of mind in which the militia knew all too well of. He did not react to Solus's apologies, he only continued to eerily stare as Solus took his place beside him.

"Have I missed anything important in my absence or are things going as predicted?" Solus had questioned. Serith then directed his gaze to the orb that floated before them. He observed the two, measuring their capabilities to determine which would be a better match for each child. He had intentionally planned to go after the Child of Light himself, but after analyzing Solus it was much more strategic to have him go after the child.

"The Child of Light," Serith broke the silence while taking the time to stare at each of them at eye level. "Her name is Hiyoko. She travels just outside of this small village by the ocean waters. You are to pursue her Solus. It should be simple enough for a man of your caliber. As for the Child of War, her name is Asrai. The thing is in a fragile state of mind as of now. I'm certain you can handle at least that, Lucien dre Millfeore."

Serith growled his orders at the two, while again mocking Lucien by speaking his full name. He was feeling irked and somewhat impatient. His eyes then rested on Solus, the disgust in his stare never wavering for either of them. Somehow, he was doubting their capabilities seeing as he viewed them both to be arrogant. Then his face fell extremely soft, almost insecure looking and like a nervous man. His red irises turned to a murky shade of black indicating he had reverted to his deceptive mortal form. "As for I, I will go after Agnar's child, Nero."

His wispy dark garments materialized into white and black threaded clothing and he looked like he could pass for an ordinary man. He would follow Nero and his companion, Ryu. No one could read information from the translucent orb like he could, it revealed names to him as well as their faces. With a rather bored yawn, he had one last bit of information to share with the two.

"You two are to learn of who they are and what they are capable of. Discourage their abilities in any possible way. Unravel their minds and expose their insecurities if need be. Get close then betray, do as you wish. We are to delay them in their learning until they discover us. I imagine they will be on a sort of quest, you see. Oh my fellow peers amongst the Heavens have directed them somewhere in three days time," Serith spoke very nonchalantly. Though he ended his sentence with a mischievous grin indicating he was not revealing all the information he had. The two necromancers would be surprised in their findings, and Serith certainly looked forward to their struggle.

Without further ado, he turned his back to them and made a slight gesture in the air where a floating line of darkness broke through the air. It expanded rapidly and moved in a clockwise motion. It was his signature portal. The only other two men known to use this were the necromancers before him. Thanks to his 'gift' to them that is. He imagined he'd only need to use this once for the day as it did consume quite a bit of energy to create and direct to specific locations. Though for Serith, although he felt his effort, it appeared as though he hardly used any energy. Before stepping inside, he waved his hand in the air as though to say goodbye.

"Oh, and by the way," he spoke in a dull tone. "Do not disappoint me."

He then snickered as he stepped inside the dark void. Everything around him turned into a black miasma as his body drifted through the rippling energy. After about a minute, his figure stepped out of the other side of the shadows into a wide open field that was about a mile away from Juhull City. Smoke floated high into the atmosphere directly from the crumbling city. Even from here he could still here the screams and cries of the city's people. Serith simply grinned as he shoved his hands into his pockets. Now it was a matter of finding that child Nero. He couldn't have made it too far from the city. Whistling, Serith turned towards the opposite direction of the city taking in his surroundings. It had been ages since he set foot outside of his fortress. His bones ached for excitement, which was now moments away from beginning. His expression fell worrisome and weary once more, as though he were lost out here in the wilds. Perhaps he would pretend he also escaped the city. There were just so many games to play.

Stay down! 'Tis my duty to die for you, not to allow you to die so unnecessarily!

Crime and Punisment||FMA

Ryu hadn't been so sure on this plan but. . . Nero was right in that they needed shelter, and quickly. He knew however that now that Agnar had recognized Nero as his own, necromancers and demons of all sorts would come after them. Ryu wasn't very keen on the idea that undead beings and psychopaths were after them. However it was inevitable. He knew this. Looking back over his shoulder he noted they could only see the smoke from the city now.

He felt dirty, like he had turned his entire city in to the evils at play there. However Ryu knew that he needed to guard Nero, for the world's sake. Looking at the boy, Ryu wasn't sure if he was okay, Nero looked rattled.

"Nero, I do believe you have a valid point. Shelter is important. However my instincts are telling me that we don't have the luxury of stopping. Something horrid is on its way to us. I can feel it. The matter of my wound. . . I will be fine. Just, a bit off. Trust me, I can still guard you to the best of my ability." Ryu pressed on, however he stopped with the last phrase to look into Nero's eyes with his own. Then a sharp pain shot through Ryu as he flinched and grasped at his left side. Something had ruptured. Blood began to pool onto his white hakama top. His eyes dilated a bit, Ryu turned grasping Nero's arm in one hand and his other clutching his wound he began walking away from the city.

"We must. . . Carry on, if we. . . If we stop now, we will be captured. Or worse."

Ryu was barely able to see, the running had torn open old wounds on top of the ones he got from fighting that demon earlier. Smiling bitterly he marched on, Nero needed to be safe. . . Ryu would die before he allowed Nero to be captured.

"I think I know where Sacred Mountain is. My Nana used to. . Tell me stories about the gods. . About the mountain. Although my memory is slightly foggy. . . Nero, do you see that orb of light over there?" Ryu pointed over at a tree, there was no light on it of course. Ryu was now leaning on Nero more than dragging him, but they were fairly far away from the city.

"Dammit. I'm slowing us down!" Ryu angrily clenched his stomach. His hakama was stained red,Ryu was becoming quite frustrated with himself for allowing himself to become this injured.

'There is no such thing as an Accident, Just fate misnamed'

Nodding along to Ryu, he cautiously scanned around him, " I trust your instincts... there is a foul wind abound tonight" he said, it seemed to make sense that some force was after him, even without that, any opposing force would not take kindly to two knights, even this far from the city. Locking eyes briefly with Ryu he watched the flinch in his eye, as pain tore through him.. But he reluctantly followed him As he was told

Feeling Ryu lean on him more, the concern grew even larger inside Nero, this pace could not keep up, despite the danger. Ryu wasn't going to last the night let alone three days " Come Ryu... we must close those wounds" it was a risk that Nero was about to take, for when a knight said they were going to close a wound, they were going to burn it closed. The problem with starting a fire now, would be simply if someone was following it was a big clue in where to head, but it needed to be done. " You can tell me the stories from your Nana" he said seeming now to settle his thoughts as he focused on helping his friend.

Placing Ryu down gently, he left to scour the area, collecting all the dry sticks, shrubs and anything deemed good enough to burn, it did not need to be a big fire, just hot enough to heat a sword tip up. " We should be far enough away that anyone who sees this and comes to investigate, we will be long gone.. im taking no argument.. so help me out and show me the wound" Reaching into a pouch onto his side he pulled out a small chunk of flint. For now he had just some shrubs and smaller twigs piled up for tinder. Drawing his sword his used its edge to strike down on the chunk of flint, sending sparks into the tinder, with embers now appearing, Nero leaned down, to gently blow on the fire, nursing it into life. Once a flame was established, he piled on more twigs, and buried his sword tip into the flame as he glanced across at Ryu " So did your Nana have any stories about the gods?"

"From now until the very last dawn, I must defend with my all."

Asrai gave a soft smile as she gently grabbed Azriel's torn sleeve. She helped settle him against the rock behind him so that she could more easily wrap the cloth around his waistline. Fastening a tight knot, she then somewhat pouted, "I hope this is okay." She then rose to her feet, the skin over her muscular frame glistening in the sun. Even though she was covered in dust and ash, she still maintained an outwards appearance. Asrai was staring off into the distance, her mind elsewhere. There was a glimmer of ferocity in her bright irises and she clenched her fists. Her gaze than gently rested upon the children who sat nearby waiting anxiously.

"Hey, would you mind grabbing that sword for me?" she directed them towards Morrighan's sword. She did not have a sheath or any way to carry the sword over her back but she knew she had to help Azriel on his feet. The children, wide-eyed, nodded and quickly made their way to the sword. But then the oddest thing happened. The male child tried to lift it with no success. He struggled and pulled desperately and even the little girl tried to lend her strength. But their efforts were futile.

"Miss, the sword is too heavy..." the children muttered embarrassed.

Asrai had a perplexed look on her face. The sword was as light as a feather, surely it was not that heavy? She walked over and grabbed it with no effort whatsoever and it lifted off the solid rock it rested on. Confused, she passed it over to the male child but as he grabbed it he fell down trying to hold it's weight. Asrai instantly grabbed it from him so that the child would not harm himself. She'd have to make due somehow. Making her way back towards Azriel she tucked her sword underneath her arm before helping lift Azriel so that he could slump his arm over her shoulder.

"Come on kids! We're leaving this place!" she shouted before lowering her voice to a quieter volume. "I'm sorry but you're going to have to help me lead them to the next village. I've never been outside of the City of Shimore."

Little did they know was that a crazed, drenched in blood, Eucliffe lurked nearby tailing the group. Lucien had made his point to succeed in this task after seeing to her thorough punishment for failure. Her teeth were gritted, bearing her fangs for all to see. Her eyes had a wild glare as she somewhat limped with a slumped shoulder that trickled with her discolored blood. Kill... Kill... were the only thoughts she could form. Curse that Lucien! Why do I have to be stuck with him? She'd wait to strike and kill those children. She could not wait to see the desperate faces of that wretched girl and whoever that nuisance of a man was. Their scent was strong and she sought nothing more than revenge. Eucliffe decided to wait until they appeared once more, her eyes and ears focusing in everywhere around her.

“Trash that doesn’t even know it’s trash deserves to fall into the abyss."

The God of Darkness strolled through the forest around him, his power masked as he hid underneath his deceptive mortal form. His eyes were soft with sadness as he actively searched for the Child of Destiny. What drew his attention was the steady rise of smoke amongst the trees out in the distance. He approached with a smirk before wiping it from his face and allowed fake tears to fall from his eyes. Serith was an actor, a very good one at that. He trembled with fear and held his arms together looking as though he was in some sort of shock. Alas he approached the small clearing where the smoke originated from. There was a small fire and he instantly recognized Nero's face. Soft gasps for air escaped his lips as he cried. Serith fell to his knees, clenching the grass before him with his fingers as the tears splattered against the ground.

"Please," he whispered desperately. "Help me!"

He quickly glanced up to see through his tears at the reaction of Nero. However, he saw Ryu and received a whiff of the scent of blood. For an extremely brief moment, Serith somewhat tensed and felt his mouth water smelling the blood off of Ryu. It emitted an unsettling energy from his mortal form. But, he quickly got a hold of himself and resumed to his tearful act with the strange energy subsiding as quickly as it submerged. He would befriend the two and travel with them. "I managed to escape," Serith cried while his body continued to quiver. "I have no place to run..."

Ryu Ookami. Brother of the Child of Light. This would be an interesting adventure. Serith's shuddering body could have very well been his excitement but instead it only came off as anxiety. The events he had executed would work in his favor. That is, if these two were as naive as he thought they were. He had to test the playground.

Zeporon had noticed his Master's entrance. While he still remained perched in the trees, he saw his Master's signal to retreat. Solus would take things over from here. With one last disturbing glare, Zeporon silently leaped towards the next tree at impeccable speed amongst the shadows. A brief rustling could be heard from his swift movements that could easily be mistaken for a squirrel. Before returning to the troops, he appeared before Zeporon and knelt before him showing his respect.

"Milord," Zeporon beckoned before meeting his Master's gaze. "They are headed east towards the shores. The Child is accompanied by a warrior. Though... he does not quite seem to be a typical fighter from what I've observed."

Zeporon pointed in the direction in which he came. His different shaded eyes flashed with excitement. Though his demeanor remained calm and emotionless as usual. He then took notice of Solus's disguise and he felt humorous. His Master was always such a cunning man. Though he pondered for a moment before asking, "Would you like to me follow, sir?"

I cannot allow such carelessness!

Ryu was hurt somewhat by Nero's insisting that Ryu wasn't strong enough to carry on, even though Ryu wasn't it hurt his pride to hear it. As Nero spoke Ryu caught himself drifting away, his voice becoming distant and muffled the farther into his sleep he got until he heard a question.
"So did your Nana have any stories about the gods?"

Ryu blinked and began to sit up straighter but fell onto Nero's shoulder. Apologizing profusely Ryu continued, as he couldn't move.

"Yes. . . My Nana had man-many. One of them was about an evil man who turned into a bear because of his greed. . . Eleora's Light guided him and he became the first Child of Light. Granted, he was never perfect. . . Eleora didn't care, the man was contrite and he loved the Light Eleora gave. One day the dark God came and . . . I don't remember the rest. "

Ryu looked to Nero and smiled, his face felt warm, what was happening? Was it because of the bloodloss? No. Was it. . . Unfortunately that thought got caught off by a man stumbling out of the brush freaking out. Ryu rose, causing blood to flow from his wound more, wincing with a grunt of pain Ryu drew his sword and made his way to the man. Placing the edge of his blade by the man's neck Ryu's pupils dilated as he cocked his head giving him a crazed look, it didn't help he was bleeding madly.

"You lie. You lie, you foul pathetic creature. I sense dark, dark evils from you. My instincts are almost never wrong. Name. Now. Coward."

Ryu's knees buckled as sweat beaded on his forehead causing his spiked up hair to fall down more into his eyes, the aqua color blaring through.

"From now until the very last dawn, I must defend with my all."

Asrai felt relieved that Azriel was able to walk on his own. Though it left her awkwardly holding her sword as she watched over the children. A knot began to form in her abdomen. She listened to his comforting words to the children and just as he was about to walk away she grabbed the sleeve of his upper garments.

"Um," she stammered with hesitance. "Maybe I should-Never mind."

Asrai watched him miserably. She was going to offer to stay behind so that no one would be put in danger with her around. Though she had a feeling Azriel would disagree. If he was looking for that Necromancer, she felt certain that ominous man would reappear before her. After all, it was herself that he wanted. Nervously, she let go of Azriel's sleeve before turning towards the children again. Then the strangest thing happened. A ball of light appeared before her and it seemed like she was the only one who could see it. The ball bounced in the air before treading off about 1500 feet back. The light dispersed at a boulder not too far out in the distance and Asrai noticed something peculiar. There was some sort of movement that disappeared behind the boulder. Asrai was squinting, trying to see what it was before realizing something was moving about in the sky. A pair of wings rapidly flapped in their direction and Asrai's eyes almost immediately widened recognizing it to be Eucliffe.

"Azriel!" Asrai exclaimed pointing upwards. "S-She's back!"

Except this time Eucliffe was flying. Asrai was certain Eucliffe did not yet realize she had been pointed out. She was still too far out to see them clearly enough. Asrai had a feeling the demon was coming back with a vengeance. This nightmare just would not end. Was it going to be this way for the rest of her life? Though a rage built up inside of Asrai. She grabbed Morrighan's sword and ran forth. Curse these demons! These Gods! This blood shed! Those disgusting men tainted with darkness! I'll... I'll DESTROY them! The rage fueled her adrenaline. The faces of her perished love ones flashing before her eyes at the sight of this demon. The sword had lit itself again, now rippling violently with energy as Asrai ran. Her strength was increasing, her heart racing as she pushed her feet into the solid ground before leaping a top a boulder that was at least fifteen feet in height. Something she had never done before. With a crazed look in her eye, she twisted her body before chucking her sword into the air. It span like a boomerang and aimed itself directly at Eucliffe.

However, Asrai's effort was futile for Eucliffe's rage was much greater than Asrai's. She shouted angrily as her polearm struck the spinning sword and sent it crashing back into the ground. The woman screamed as she glided down, her wings pressing together as her body began to gain momentum as she darted towards Asrai like a missile. Asrai was not quick enough to dodge. In fact, she did not account for missing her throw. Eucliffe's entire body struck directly into Asrai, flinging her body off the top of the rock and crashing into a nearby wall. The children began to scream and scatter, trying to duck for cover in any possible place they could hide. Upon impact with the wall, Asrai cried out in excruciating pain. The impact alone should have killed her, yet she was in one piece and still alive. Though her mind felt somewhat rattled and warm. She shakily lifted a hand touching the back of her scalp and recovered droplets of blood. How careless of me... Will they die? Asrai pondered as her vision faded in and out.

"Stay OUT of this girl!" Eucliffe spat before wildly scanning the area. Her intense set of purple eyes then fell on Azriel. It seemed as though he was somewhat wounded and Eucliffe found this to be excellent.

“Trash that doesn’t even know it’s trash deserves to fall into the abyss."

Serith acted as if utterly shocked by the sword pointed towards his neck. He whimpered in fact and held his hands up in the air. The tears stopped and he eyed Ryu carefully.

"You lie. You lie, you foul pathetic creature. I sense dark, dark evils from you. My instincts are almost never wrong. Name. Now. Coward."

Serith pondered on this for a moment before his trembling lips twisted into a wicked grin. He rose to his feet, his eyes still black irises indicating his true form was still being hidden. "It seems as though you are on edge, Ryu." No one had revealed any names, yet Serith had just spoken Ryu's. He watched carefully to see Ryu's reaction. Though his brow twitched as he glanced down at Ryu's wound. The smell of blood. It was so strong. Such a heavy flow nonetheless. These two were not dimwitted after all. Daringly, Serith gazed upon Nero with a wild curiosity. It was almost unsettling to watch him look at Nero in such a way.

"My name is not of importance. Lower your sword Ryu," Serith said nonchalantly with a casual shrug. He then placed his index finger atop the edge of Ryu's blade. His smile was disturbing and with one finger, you could feel the amount of force being applied as though it were an entire hand. "Otherwise, you're just going to hurt yourself."

Serith's statement was a threat at the least. This Ryu character was very amusing. Perhaps he'd keep the young man as a mere pet. That would be rather generous of him, sparing a man's life after interfering with the inevitable. Now more than ever, he wanted to mess with Ryu's mind moreso than Nero's. He'd take care of the Child of Destiny soon enough.

'There is no such thing as an Accident, Just fate misnamed'

Nero gazed deep into the fire as he listened to the story that Ryu was telling, there was reason of course behind hearing this story, It kept Ryu from falling asleep which was important it also kept Nero from his own thoughts. However it seemed neither one of them was to get a reprieve as a figure came stumbling out the bushes, calling for help, seeming to be shaken up. Though his attention was drawn to himself, his armour or rather the divine armor he was wearing seemed to fill with energy, probably unseen to most but Nero felt it, as if his armor was putting it self on edge.

When he brought his attention away from his armor he saw Ryu holding his blade against the arrivals neck, Though it seemed this strange man could at least call Ryu by name which was odd, but anyone who spent enough time in the right place in the city could find such things out, Nero was going to need to find out how much this man knew. Placing himself next Ryu he placed an arm upon him to support him. Though he almost need steadying when the wild gaze fell upon him.

Steeling himself his fixed his eyes upon the dark man, more a test for himself, but also to test the confidence of one who stood before him. " Your name does not interest me.... i am more concerned with whether you are close to a man or some creature." Sly as ever Nero tried the old tricks try and learn the man's name by implying it has no importance " And What did you hope to learn from playing that façade... It seems unlikely that you were here to kill us.... We both know any part of that army could accomplish that so lets not play dumb" Nero could be wrong, the man could be here to kill them, but it didn't feel like that to him, no one of those big creatures would be more effective at that, or that man with the axe, but what stood before him. It would be interesting to see what he could learn from the answer, for any answer if not constructed carefully could give Nero something to work with.

"From now until the very last dawn, I must defend with my all."

Eucliffe was swift, her purple eyes practically glowing in the daylight with hatred. Though the sun was beginning to set which meant nightfall soon approached. Such a thing would be perfect for Eucliffe. She managed to dodge some of the orbs, then block the remainder of them with her polearm, turning it rapidly in a clockwise motion to cancel out the energy. She dove in from above, landing promptly on the rocky surface of the ground. Her amusement and excitement seemingly vanished, instead she scowled feeling sick and tired of Lucien's torture. One arm held her weapon firmly on the ground while her other free hand began to extend her claws a few inches. Her wounds were visible and raw. Her discolored blood trickling down her limbs in some areas. Eucliffe took a quick glance at Asrai who was stirring about, struggling to keep conscious.

"Small fry, eh?" Eucliffe growled. "I won't be defeated so easily, you know. They don't call me Demon General for nothing!"

Her claw extended forward, with small balls of red light gathering at her finger tips. For some odd reason, her expression became very calm though the anger still tugged at her eyes and lips. Inhaling deep, the red balls suddenly exploded from her claws shooting out small, narrow rays of red light towards Azriel. The energy cackled loudly, the light briefly blinding as it exploded. She lifted her chin, not a peep coming out of her. Eucliffe finally acknowledged that Azriel was a formidable foe.

Asrai grunted, feeling as though she were in a trance. Her vision was blackened as she rested on the floor tiredly. In fact, she wished to just give up. Life had become a never ending nightmare she no longer wished to endure. "Get up..." Asrai heard a voice trailing off in her mind. "Asrai, you must get up! The sword, child! Call the sword, you know what to do. You've done it before." She groaned, uncertain of what was going on. Though she recognized the voice to be Morrighan's and suddenly her focus snapped back. Her eyes opened wide as she heard the demonness Eucliffe spouting words at Azriel. This head wound should be nothing. It was nothing. Asrai lifted an arm, her hand appearing to be clasped over empty space in the air. Though energy gathered in bright light where the sword suddenly appeared before her within her hands. By Eucliffe, you could see it disappear from amongst the solid earth. Eucliffe did not even notice which was her own mistake.

I am War, Child of Morrighan. I can fight, Asrai found herself speaking strange words in her mind that did not feel like her own. But they empowered her. Using the sword as support, she slowly began to lift herself. Her rate of recovery was something remarkable.

“Trash that doesn’t even know it’s trash deserves to fall into the abyss."

Serith's eyes flickered towards Nero when he spoke. He eyed the Child of Destiny carefully with a blank expression. Glancing back at Ryu, he shrugged again, "I only came to warn you two about the danger that lurks."

His hands were clasped behind his back where an artificially crafted emblem from the King himself appeared from shadows that were barely visible. He pretended to pull it from his garments and revealed it to Ryu and Nero, holding the small golden pendant between his index and middle finger. Then Serith noticed how the sun was beginning to set. How quaint, it's almost nightfall, he thought to himself. Though his calm expression remained. "I am part of the King's Council. I'm only sent out in extreme emergencies. Though I'm sure I don't really need to explain why today warrants an emergency."

Serith sighed as he looked to the ground sadly. He appeared truly pained and worried. His mind was working quickly, trying to calculate how he was to explain the 'facade' he was trying to pull off. Suddenly, the idea occurred to him. Glancing back up with a soft expression he chuckled, "You see, the Council knows all about who you actually are Nero. They knew that if the day were to ever come when the Dark God would strike; Most likely you would not trust an ordinary man. I was supposed to keep my identity secret. The Council feared my knowledge would corrupt your progress... I know where we can go to be safe."
